Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 76: A Wild Host Has Appeared

E

Well hello there everyone!! We're so happy to be back with our first freshly recorded episode in 2023. We hope that you all have a wonderful Holiday and start to the new year. This episode marks the first episode with Slugger joining us a full time host, and as such we decided to mix it up and add a few new segments and ideas for you all. So, in addition to the gang talking about what they've been playing for the past month or so, we also have a trophy guessing game, a lightning round, and a PS+ round up to add to the repertoire of segments. None of this of course is replacing the Platinum shout outs or the Patreon submitted questions. So, in reality, there's quite a bit going on in this episode! Specific game discussions include deep dives into Inscyption, AC: Valhalla, and Star Ocean: The Divine Force. Patreon topics focus around what games in 2023 we would pick up on day one if we could only choose five options. This turned out to be particularly difficult given just how stacked 2023 is shaping up to be. Thank you all for listening, we hope you're just as excited about the show in 2023 as we are. Happy gaming and take care!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 75: Shredageddon

E

Well hello there trophy hunters. Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! As we normally do for our end of year episodes, our final episode of 2022 and first of 2023 is something a little different. Instead of focusing on what we've been playing, we instead took some time this episode to look at our year in review. All four of us decided to go through our statistics provided by Sony for their 2022 wrap up and share them with the group, along with our thoughts and goals for 2023. In addition to that we go over a few Patreon questions including which games deserved sequels but never got them, and what we thought about the Forespoken demo that came out a few weeks back. Most importantly though, this episode marks the final episode that Eli will be joining us as a full time host. He says it better than I could ever write it but just note this is an episode you won't want to miss. As sad as that particular note is, we also have a moment of joy in that we get to welcome a new full time host to the show in Slugger. Please join me in saying goodbye to Eli, and welcoming Slugger! We hope that you enjoy the episode, and happy New Year!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 74: Hershey Burps

E

Well hello there everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this, Episode 74 , we've got a big bag of holiday cheer in store for you! We start of the show by talking about our Christmas wish lists and what games we may be hoping that Santa brings from the North Pole this year before getting into our Platinum shout outs and another round of patented jokes and riddles from Eli. From there we get into Patreon submitted questions which include a look at what the spirit of Christmas means to us these days as we all reside in our 30s, a thorough look at Blasphemous and if we'll ever play it or not, and what games we think are the "coziest" in the business. Finally, we get into some trophy list reviews and for this month we have a good mix for you. Eli goes old school SSX with his examination of "Shredders", Darryl braves the survival horror of "The Calisto Protocol," and Colin continues to embrace RPGs by looking at "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion." We hope you enjoy the lists, and the show. Thank you for listening and happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 73: God of What? ft. Slugger VII

E

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. This week, we've got something slightly different in store for you. As you could likely tell from the title, Darryl and Eli were unable to attend the beginning portion of this show. As a result we've asked one of our oldest gaming friends and community members, Slugger VII to join us! As it's his first time joining us, we spend the top of the show talking about recent trends in first party Sony trophy lists, and there specifics. We also touch on the way that Slugger got into trophy hunting, and how he approaches it now. With 298 platinum trophies and counting, he's in a league well above us to say the least. After that we get into a few Patreon submitted questions centering around Thanksgiving, and what 2023 holds in store for Sony before moving on to what we've been playing. We camp out and discuss God of War: Ragnarok for a solid 25 minutes or so and managed to do so without spoilers. It was a very interesting talk indeed, and we hope you enjoy the episode! Happy Gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 72: Spoiler City

E

Well hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! As you could likely tell from the title and the thumbnail for this episode, we're going to be talking about the God of War: Ragnarok trophy list. Now don't worry, if you want to avoid any spoilers from the list I've added some audio in the podcast that will tell you when it's about to start and what time to skip to. In addition to that we're also looking at Sonic Frontiers, and Gungrave G.O.R.E. this week and giving our thoughts on those lists! We also have some pretty fantastic trophy lists to get into some Patreon submitted questions. Looking at next year we all discuss what some of our gaming / trophy hunting goals are for 2023, and we also stop to talk for a while about CoD missing 2023 for this first time in years. What does this mean and why is it happening? Could it have anything to do with GTA6 possibly being on the horizon? Lastly we also touch a bit on the Game Awards, Game of the Year nominees and give our thoughts and impressions on who we think might come out on top. Thank you for listening, and happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 71: The Cookie Clench

E

Well hello there everybody! Welcome back to another episode of your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show, Trophy Talk! In this, our 71st episode of the show, the gang gets together to answer quite a few Patreon submitted questions and talk about what we've been playing so far for October and November. Our Patreon supporters asked some hard hitters this time so it takes us roughly an hour and a half to get into what we've been playing. Fear not though, as the questions were indeed pretty though provoking. On the IRL side questions include things like, more stories about close calls with the bathroom, situations in retail with difficult customers, and more. On the gaming side we discuss the Xbox / Activision acquisition and what ramifications that may have had on Sony's recent showings and showcases. We also discuss what aspects of God of War 2018 worked for us and which didn't as we all highly await the arrival of Ragnarok next week. Finally, we get into what we've been playing. Eli continues his MMO / RPG grinds with Warframe, Darryl continues to try and escape the labyrinth that is Inscryption and Resident Evil 0, and Colin cleans up two old games on his backlog in RE0 and The Order 1886 before he talking at length about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Halo: Infinite. It's a jam packed episode, and we hope you enjoy. Thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 70: Where we droppin' bois?

E

Hello there everyone! Thanks for tuning in and joining us on the 70th episode of the podcast! As always we really appreciate you listening, your feedback and your support. For this episode we have some pretty dope things in store for you if we do say so ourselves. For starters we pick up with some trophy hunting news from around the globe. Did you know that a recent firmware update had a large quality of life improvement for dealing with "hidden" trophies? We didn't either! How do you think NA compares to the rest of the world in terms of platinum trophies obtained? Turns out, not so great well, and that's a bummer. After that we get into some riddles from Eli , our Patreon submitted questions, and trophy list reviews. This week we're taking a look at Call of Duty: MW2 (2022), LEGO: Bricktales, Gotham Knights, and Inscryption. Once again, thanks for checking out the show, and we hope you enjoy! Happy gaming =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 69: 69,420

E

Hello, hello there everyone! Welcome back to a particularly saucy, and niceeee, episode of Trophy Talk Podcast. That's right, we're 69 episodes in, and at the start of Spooktober, 2022. We camp out at the top of the show to discuss Overwatch 2, and its new implementation of trophies. We think this system is an interesting idea for the games as a service genre, and we're curious to hear what you the audience thinks. After that Eli switches it up on us, that's right it's not dad jokes this time, but something even more terrifying! From there we move into Patreon submitted questions, with topics ranging from the new PS Stars program, our favorite album of all time, mixing two IP and universes together, and a new round of keep, delete, sequel, reboot. As always we close out the show with what we've been playing. Eli has some kind words to say about Metal Hellsinger and Warframe, Darryl and Colin nerd out about Star Wars, and both discuss their love of Toem. We hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 68: Butt Quacks

E

Hello hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In keeping with out traditions this episode has the crew reviewing three trophy lists from recently released games on the PSN. We feel we've been getting better and better at finding games that are more indie, and lesser known. Hopefully our discussions can spotlight these games within the trophy hunting community and lead to some positive feedback for developers, and positive gaming sessions for the players! This week Darryl reviews "Serial Cleaners," Colin reviews "The DioField Chronicle," and Eli reviews "Blind Fate: Edo No Yami." Let us know what you think of the games! Don't fret though, that's not all the episode has in store. We also go into a couple deep and thought provoking questions about life and Sony First Party Games submitted to us from our Patreon, and laugh / don't laugh at some truly groan worthy dad jokes. Thanks for listening as always, and happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 67: Are Pokémon Pets?

E

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk, your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show! The gang has got some solid Patreon submitted questions to go over this week before we delve into what we've been playing. Topics include, the nature of Pokémon, geography, what games we're looking forward to trophy hunting in Q1 of 2023, and the trend to set new games in a neon cyber punk aesthetic. Of course there's more than that. Dad jokes are here, we do a new section that shouts out platinum's earned in our community (thanks to Skrilus), and discuss just how lame this recent West Coast heat wave was. After getting warmed up with that we dive into what we've been playing. Darryl completes his time with Mafia 3, (earning the full 100% including DLC), before beginning Jedi: Fallen Order. Eli is back at it again with not one, not two, not three, but four live service games, (though he has pre-ordered and anxiously awaiting Metal Hellsinger). Finally, Colin talks about his time with Cowabunga Collection, and Resident Evil 4. We hope you enjoy and thank you so much for listening. Don't forget to leave a nice review if you like the show, follow us on your Podcast service of choice, and check out the Patreon if you're so inclined. Thanks!!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 66: Blue Milk

E

Well hello hello there everyone! Welcome back to Episode 66 of the Trophy Talk Podcast. While new releases may be somewhat slow at the moment, the crew has still managed to pull together six different games and trophy lists to talk about. On top of all that we've got quite a few listener submitted Patreon questions to get through. So, buckle up. Compared to our last few episodes this one is a bit longer! With that being said though, the normal absurdness of dad jokes, questioning the origins of "Blue Milk", ranting about difficulty related trophies, and questioning the viability of the Switch in 2022, ensues. Do we have the authority to talk about many of these things? Certainly not, but we do so nonetheless. Enjoy and thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast: Episode 65 - Press X for Trophy Talk

E

Well hello, hello there folks! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! There's been an uproar recently, regarding the newly announced and written about game, "Press X for Trophies," and amongst us it spurs a discussion concerning how the PSN is curated, how trophies should be balanced, and whether or not we even care about a trophies overall value. In addition to that we discuss which Discord, and or Patreon supporter we would want to change our gaming perspectives with and why before getting into what we've been playing. Eli finally, (FINALLY!) turns on his PS5 and plays some "Spiderman," Darryl finishes up a long grind with "Killzone," and nears completion with "The Quarry," and Colin has seen the light and majesty of "The Last of Us: Part II. " All of that and more behind the play button. Thank you for listening and happy gaming =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 64: Absolute Bangers

E

Well hey there you fine folks! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! We hope you've all been enjoying your Summer and have been able to get in some solid gaming time. The gang is back together today to review some trophy lists for a few lesser known games, vent about some truly annoying experiences with our trophy hunting recently, and answer our Patreon submitted questions. So, let's get into it. Questions from Patreon include, what platinum we would steal from our fellow cohosts, thoughts on our next trophy milestones, and if we'd be willing to accept a challenge for next years trophy hunting. From there we move on to review the lists for, "Bright Memory: Infinite," "Escape Academy," and "MADiSON." All of these games have come out within the last month, are smaller titles on the PSN Store, and have great lists and distribution! One final thing to note, I (Colin) chose to surprise switch the intro song for this episode to match a topic I discuss at the top of the show. This song was not created by any of us, and is not owned by any of us on the show. The small clip of it played is from the OST for "Ruined King: A League of Legends Story," and was written by Gareth Coker. It's a wonderful game and OST that I highly recommend. Anyway, enjoy the show! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 63: Friday Night Magic

E

Hello hello everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! The crew has been up to some nefarious deeds, if you couldn't tell from the thumbnail, we all got together the night before recording to play some Magic the Gathering. It was a very fun time, and that discussion dominates the first few bit of the show. After that, we get into dad jokes, Patreon questions and what we've been playing so far in late June and early July. Some of the questions were hard hitters this week, asking things like; what exactly are our life plans? Is the world flat? Who from Last Stand Media would we want to guest on the show? Games for what we've been playing include, It Takes Two, Demon's Souls, The Quarry, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, and Arcadegeddon. Thank you all for tuning in to the show, we hope you enjoy =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 62: Risk It for the Biscuit

E

Hello hello everyone and welcome back to Trophy Talk! We have a pretty exciting show in store for you all today so thanks for tuning in. For starters, Summer is a time where Colin always feels drawn to playing RPGs. We begin by discussing if any other genre's of game are at home in a particular time of the year. After that and some greatly themed dad jokes from Eli, the crew gets into our Patreon submitted questions. In this we discuss trophy distribution, My Name is Mayo, potential pet names, remakes and remasters, and what game would be a fair trade for God of War from Microsoft. After that, each of us goes into detail on a trophy list of our choosing! Colin goes retro and looks at the Capcom Fighting Game Collection, Eli somehow finds another free to play multiplayer game with Arcadegeddon, and Darryl continues his examination of Supermassive Games lists with Man of Medan. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 61: Where's the Cheese?

E

Hello you fine people, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this, our second episode for the month of June, we take some time to talk about all the fun games we've been playing! Well... at least most of them are pretty fun. Before we get to that though we regale you the audience with stories of champagne and bathroom grand openings, tales of stolen cheese, dad jokes, and questions from our Patrons. Included in these questions are our favorite / most anticipated games coming out of Summer Games Fest, whether or not we would survive living in the last game we played, what the best breakfast food is, and what the longest break we've taken from trophy hunting is. Thank you so very much for your support and for listening. We hope you enjoy the show, happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 60: The Family Jewels

E

Well hello hello there good people! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! It's been about three weeks real time since the boys have had a chance to sit down together and there's much to catch up on. Colin has been away on his honeymoon for the last 10 days so the boys take some time at the top to catch up on Canadian exchange rates, the intricacies of the French language, and recap on the wedding. After that Darryl prompts us each with a unique scenario in a zombie apocalypse and how we would handle it. Our responses are pretty different indeed. For Patreon questions we delve into topics such as when the right time to introduce your kids to gaming is, and if we think difficulty related trophies should exist? Spoiler, yes they should. Finally, as is tradition in the first episode of every month, the gang each brings a trophy list to discuss and review. Colin begins with Super Perils of Baking, the newest game from Lillymo Games. Eli finds a pretty interesting blend of zombie survival and Minecraft to talk about with Deadcraft, and Darryl throws praise at another Rebellion list in Sniper Elite 5. We think these three games and lists all seem really solid in a time when arguably it could be said not much is coming out. We hope you enjoy the show and as always thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 59:Tag It and Bag It

E

Well hello hello everybody, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! It's a big day, as of the time of this uploading Colin has been married!! This episode was recorded in advance of the big weekend but don't you worry, it's still jam packed with everything you've come to love from the crew. This week's episode includes a range of discussion such as how we handle savings / paychecks, what are some difficult games in our backlog we've been waiting to play, do we use zippers when we pee, and what our names would be if we could pick new ones! After that, and a healthy dose of dad jokes, the gang gets into what we've been playing. Eli has discovered the joy and the majesty of one of the oldest and most storied card games, Magic the Gathering, Darryl jumps into some smaller more chill titles before beginning his tour with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Colin goes back to 1996 to play one of the best retro FPS's available in Quake. We hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 58: Size Matters

E

Hello hello everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! While the industry by and large is in a bit of a drought right now, (as far as new AAA releases go) the boys have had time to ponder other things. What are the three qualities we look for most in a partner? What indie games are worth our attention? Does Colin have horrible Reddit etiquette? These are the kinds of questions we hope to answer in this show! Plus, we have our slew of dad jokes, Patreon submitted questions, an update on our Discord race, and trophy list reviews. It's a packed episode, so thank you for listening! We hope you enjoy =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 57: Souls Bros v2

E

Hello hello everyone and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this, our 57th episode of the show we take some time to go over everything we've been playing for the month of April! While some of us have gamed less than others we still are all making good progress on our souls games of choice, whether that's Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, or Sekiro. On top of all that we welcome a few new patrons to the show as well as answer a few hard hitting questions like, have trophies positively or negatively impacted how we play games? What titles have we slept on in the past only to be blown away by them later? What 5 games would we keep from our entire collection if we had to pick? And what other series besides Sonic deserves the remastered collection treatment? On top of all that, Darryl flexes his muscles as a riddle master, and Eli discoveries the wonder of all things "hen".

E

Hello dudes and dudettes and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this , our first episode of April 2022, the gang breaks down the trophy lists for some of the biggest game releases of the last few weeks including, Tiny Tina's, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. In addition to that there's some good / bad dad jokes about Easter, some great discussion around the new PS+ and trophy card updates, and some answers to our Patreon submitted questions. Does Colin need to quickly go and copyright a cereal idea? Why does Darryl have a special attachment to a particular sock? And why does Eli think there's no way he'd retire from Trophy Hunting? All these questions and more, you can find the answer to, right behind the play button. Thanks for listening and happy gaming!!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 55: Souls Bros

E

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! If the thumbnail and track description didn't give it away, the boys have been playing all kinds of difficult, souls games over the past month, and we can't wait to talk to you about it. Before we get to that though, we of course read and answer our Patreon submitted questions, tell a few dad jokes, and talk about how long it takes to fly to New Zealand... is it 13 hours or 16 hours? Does it matter? What do we think of using cheese strats to earn trophies, just how large is our backlog? All of these questions, you can find the answer to just behind the play button. And of course, thank you so much for listening to the show!!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 54: All My Cookies Covered

E

Well well well, we're back here again with yet another episode of Trophy Talk. As you've come to know and expect, the crew has quite a conversation in store for you today. First, we discuss the most recent Batman film, and the new Uncharted Film. Are they worth seeing even though Edward Cullen and Spiderman make appearances? We think so! After that we go into Patreon submitted questions. Just what is the best girl-scout cookie? How does one pronounce Lemonade? What the fuck is a woodchuck? All of those get answered, as well as more serious questions. Finally, the team wraps up by discussing the trophy lists for Gran Tourismo 7, WWE 2K22, and Babylon's Fall. We hope you enjoy, and as always thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 53: Eternal Ring

E

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. It's been a crazy few weeks in February as more and more anticipated AAA titles get released. We've already seen the release of Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, and Horizon: Forbidden West, and that's all before GT7 and Ghost Wire: Tokyo come in a few weeks time. How does the gang deal with all the FOMO that comes with not having enough time to play all the new releases at launch? We start the conversation there before talking about Sony's potential acquisitions, dad jokes, and what we've been playing for the month of February. Darryl has begun his journey with Deathloop and conquered yet another game in Control. Eli has found an even more interesting and hardcore way to play Minecraft, and Colin reverts back to his childhood self playing Elden Ring, and a few other titles. We sincerely hope you enjoy the episode! As a quick extra note, after the time of recording this episode a small patch was released for Elden Ring on the PS5. It appears that this path may have in a small way improved performance, though the details of the patch were aimed at multiplayer functionality. Anyway, enjoy the show!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 52: Two Year Anniversary!

E

Hello everyone and welcome back to Trophy Talk! This is a very special episode for the crew as it marks our two year anniversary since we've been doing the show! It's crazy to think just how many trophy lists reviews, game discussions, and dad jokes we've all heard together over the past two years, and yet, here we are. We decided to not do anything different for the episode proper, we are of course creatures of habit and love sticking to our schedules. So, today's episode contains all you've come to know and love from the first episode of the month from us. You've got your dad jokes, your banger questions concerning our morning routine and various food habits, as well as questions about our ideal trophy list, cross over battles we want to see, and the best mini game in games we've played. After that we break down and discuss the PS+ offerings in February and see how their trophy lists shake out. UFC4 gets a pretty unanimous "no" from the team, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragonkeep tempts us with it's art style and the fact that it has a platinum at all, and Planet Coaster: Console Edition reminds us of simpler times with PC gaming. Now, just because the episode itself sticks to our formula doesn't mean we aren't doing anything for our two year anniversary. Next Saturday, February 19th, at 12pm PST, we will be streaming an event via our Discord server for all of our listeners to watch. So, if you're reading this and haven't checked out the Discord yet, or haven't checked out the Patreon yet. We really encourage you to do so. Thanks of course to everyone for listening, and being part of this journey with us. We couldn't do it without you!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 51: Hairy Situation

E

Hello everybody and welcome back to Episode 51 of Trophy Talk, your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show! This week's episode focuses on what the gang has been playing since the month of December and we have to tell you, we've been playing quite a bit. What is it about those early months of the year that make it seem like we'll be able to get through our backlog goals with ease? One things for sure, the momentum is strong right now but truth be told, can it last? On top of what we've been playing the crew also discusses the impact of luck on our daily lives, what we want from the long rumored project Spartacus, if nature or nurture has a great impact on our daily lives, and what longer games we'd love to get lost in if we had more time. As always, we thank you so much for listening to the show, and we hope you enjoy! Also, next episode marks our two year anniversary! Stay tuned to the Discord for more information about what we're doing for that special occasion. Happy hunting!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 50: Fast Food Fun House

E

What's going on everybody and welcome back to Trophy Talk! We can't believe it's already been 100 weeks of doing this show, but it's true. Episode 50 is upon us and soon after that Episode 52, which will mark our two year anniversary! After a long break over the Holidays, which we hope you all enjoyed, the gang is back together to talk trophies, fast food, ghosts, and more. As this is our first episode in January for 2022, this episode focuses on breaking down the free PS+ games for the month. Darryl channels his inner dwarf in his assessment of Deep Rock Galactic. Eli goes back to his dirt racing roots in Dirt 5, and Colin travels all the way to Japan while discussing Persona 5: Strikers. In addition to all that we discuss our ideal day of fast food meals, what chores we want ghosts to do for us, and what side characters in games deserve full spin offs. We hope that you enjoy and thank you as always for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 49: Plats of the Year

E

Hello everyone and welcome back to the first episode of Trophy Talk in 2022! We hope that everyone has had a restful and enjoyable holiday season =) In this, our 49th episode of the show, the crew takes some time to sit down and review 2021. Each of us has selected three games that we feel were our top three trophy hunts of the year. We dig into each of these games and give some context as to why we enjoyed them so much, from a trophy hunting perspective of course. As we recorded this episode in advance so as to try and get some time off during the holidays, it does not include Patreon submitted questions. All the same we think you'll enjoy the discussion. Additionally at the top of the show new race rules for 2022 are discussed. We hope you enjoy the show and as always thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 48: Snowman Squad

E

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! To sign off on the year 2021 the crew has got a banger of an episode 48 for you. Patreon questions as always take up the front half of the show with discussions covering a wide array of topics. What are our fondest memories from our almost two years of doing the show? Who would win in a fight Sephiroth or Darth Vader? What are our top three trophies of the year? These are just some of the things we debate on this cold and blustery December day. After that, we all dive deep into what we've been playing. Eli may have just found himself the newest convert to the cult of Fortnite, in Colin. Darryl tidies up Horizon: Zero Dawn and dives back into Day's Gone, and Colin gives his insights on the newest entry in the Call of Duty franchise. As always, thank you so much for listening, and have a wonderful holiday season! One more thing. There are minor spoilers in this episode for story beats in Horizon: Zero Dawn and it's DLC. Additionally, the same is true for Call of Duty: Vanguard. Thank you!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 47: Ballistazooka

E

Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this, our first episode for December, the crew breaks down the trophy lists for the PS+ offerings this month which include Godfall (though a very strange version of it), Mortal Shell, and Lego: DC Supervillains. Overall the month isn't horrible but version questions and issues abound with the games. Does this signal someone asleep at the wheel at Sony, or a way to incentivize other purchases in the store? We discuss. Additionally, we get into the hard hitting Patreon questions including, what three things we would change about the gaming industry, what the best month of PS+ was this year, and an idea for a prestige / new list system with trophies. All of that plus weird food combinations, and dad jokes await you behind the play button. Enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 46: The Nora Braves

The year is 2021. Three, self-proclaimed trophy hunters are in the midst of exploring a vast post-apocalyptical world. This world is filled with dangerous machines, cluttered crafting and menu systems, a great trophy list, and some kick as visuals. That's right, our three heroes are in the midst of experiencing, Horizon Zero Dawn. How did we get to this game some four years late? How have we not experienced one of PlayStation's most talked about exclusive offerings? Well we don't really have a good excuse in all honesty, but the time is here. Only a few months away from Horizon: Forbidden West, the gang finally puts some solid time into Guerilla Games' first RPG outing as a studio. Not everything works in the game, but by and large it's an incredibly polished product with striking visuals, and a deep story. On top of that, the trophy list is incredibly simple, and well thought out. So, come along with us as we discuss. We hope you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 42: Blast From the Past

E

Hello hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode we're back to our roots in a way and have a special two man show for everyone. Due to some conflicting schedules Darryl was not able to join us this week, but he was there with us in spirit. As always this episode contains some "fun" dad jokes, answers to your Patreon questions, and some deep dives in to what we've been playing for the month of September. You can expect answers to: how we structure our trophy hunts, what Spiderman villains we want in Insomniac's Spiderman 2, what franchise we would play if time was no issue, what trophy hunts we thought would be easy and ended up being difficult, and what our least favorite trophy hunt has been. On top of that Colin gets into his recent 3D platformer kick and discusses some of those titles and why he enjoyed his time with them so much. Additionally, Eli continues his journey in hell by checking out the Doom Eternal DLCs, and both of us lose our minds, just a little bit. We hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 41: Trophy Showcase

E

Hello hello and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode of the bi-weekly trophy hunting podcast we go in depth with the things that everyone wants to know... what animal would we turn into if given the choice? If Colin was a bird would he still need glasses? Should you gamble? Do we pick trophies based on the Platinum trophy artwork? What does Trophy Hunting mean to us? As you can see, we get pretty serious indeed. From there we announce the winners of the second leg of our trophy hunting race from the discord, and do a full discussion on what games from the Sony 2021 September Showcase interested us. We close with a look at the Deathloop trophy list. As the game isn't out yet, guides don't exist, and there are still huge questions to be answered about this game, there's lots we still don't know. Even still we think it was a fair discussion and starting point. Thank you for listening as always, please leave a like if you enjoyed the episode and happy gaming! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 40: Toe Hole

E

Hello hello everybody and welcome back to Trophy Talk! Episode 40 marks the first episode that focuses primarily on what we've been playing, and Patreon questions! Boy do we have some bangers for you this time. We start the show off by asking, what is the proper time to dispose of a pair of socks or underwear? You'd be surprised just how deep this conversation can get. From there we get serenaded by some dad jokes before moving on to answer questions like, what movies are infinity rewatchable? What are some of the best and worst dreams we've had? And, if we could bring private servers to life for a game that lost them which one would it be? The second half of the show focuses on what we've been playing. Eli gushes about his ever growing love for virtual Legos, aka "Minecraft" and gets excited that he's nearly done with "Doom: Eternal." Darryl shares his first war stories from "Wolfenstein II" and his slow practice runs leading up to Mein Lieben. Colin cleans up an old classic in "Mass Effect" , and polishes off the full "Spyro Reignited Trilogy" which in turn reignites his interest in 3D platformers. See what we did there? Thanks for listening of course and we hope you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 39: Peashooter

E

Hello and welcome back to episode 39 of the Trophy Talk Podcast! This episode marks the beginning to the change of our content formatting. If you recall, last episode we noted that moving forward our first episode every month would be more news focused, and centered around trophy list reviews, while the second episode would be a deep dive into what we've been playing. So, as a result, this episode has three trophy list discussions and breakdowns. The crew spends a good chunk of time breaking down all of the PS+ offerings for August 2021. Are any of the pretty grindy and multiplayer heavy lists worth your time? That depends on what you're looking for! In addition to that we have some good old fashioned dad jokes as always, as well as Patreon submitted questions that center around what hobby we would replace trophy hunting with, what the last platinum we would earn would be if we could only earn one more, and what the best co-op game is when you have company over. Enjoy the show and thank you so much for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 38: POW POW

E

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting shenanigans! There's quite a bit to cover in this week's episode so let's get to it. At the top of the show the crew covers some changes to the formatting for episodes moving forward. Don't worry. The schedule and cadence up uploads will not be changing but the content per month will now be divided into a more news and discussion heavy episode , and a more deep dive into what we've been playing in the second episode of each month. After that we get into the listener / Patreon submitted questions. Topics include, what genre's we avoid trophy hunting in, what game we're looking forward to most, and how we all balance our schedules to be able to game and trophy hunt. After that we dive deep into a discussion of Norse mythology and the trophy list for the newly released Tribes of Midgard. Overall, the list is pretty good in terms of distribution, and artwork. However, the market is flooded with these games as service, and season / battle pass heavy experiences. Does the industry really need more of these? Finally, the crew closes up the show with what we've been playing. Eli continues to trudge through hell and the bodies of felled demons in Doom Eternal. Colin comes near the end of his journey in Demon's Souls and discovers the joy of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Darryl comes ever closer to finishing out his experience with Ethan Winters and Resident Evil: Village. We hope you all enjoy the show! Thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 37: Zombie Apocalypse

E

Hello everyone and welcome back to Episode 37 of the show! We've got quite a bit to cover in this episode so sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and get ready. The gang starts out with a discussion about the titles shown at Sony's most recent State of Play Event, namely Sifu, Deathloop, Lost Judgement, and Death Stranding. Overall we can't help but feel that some of the art directions, and overall game directions for titles these days don't jive with our gaming sensibilities. After that we answer a Patreon submitted question concerning game recommendations for the listeners, and have a broad discussion about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 trophy list. What can Treyarch and the Call of Duty games do to make their trophy lists, specifically those centered around the zombies game mode, more accessible? We have some ideas. Finally, the show closes with what we've been playing. Darryl has found himself drawn in more and more to Resident Evil: Village. Eli has gone over to the dark side and found a love and appreciation for Minecraft, and Colin finds a hidden gem in Plague Tale: Innocence. We hope you enjoy! Thank you!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 36: Finger on the Pulse

E

Hello and welcome back everyone to another episode of Trophy Talk Podcast! We've got a bit of a lengthy episode for you today, but there was quite a bit to discuss. For starters, Colin has finally procured his PS5 along with the "Pulse" headset from Sony. Suffice it to say, he's got quite a bit to say about it, and Eli chimes in for a solid discussion regarding the two pieces of hardware. From there we get into Patreon submitted questions including discussions on auto popping trophy lists from PS4 on PS5, what games we think should get the PS5 treatment / boost, and our overall thoughts on the "Dual Sense" controller. After that, the gang discusses the trophy list for, "A Plague Tale: Innocence" which was recently announced as a PS+ offering for July. To cap off the show we talk about what we've been playing. Darryl heaps quite a lot of praise and renown onto "Ghost of Tsushima" (days before the directors cut official announcement). Eli has been slaying demons left and right but mostly just multiple times in a row in "Doom 2016" and "Demon's Souls", and Colin lunges forward in his completion percentage of "Mass Effect". We hope you enjoy the episode and thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 35: PS5 Fever

E

Welcome back everybody to episode 35 of the show! We're recording a bit earlier this week so the gang is a bit tired but none the less we've come together, in a melding of the minds to bring you some important topics and updates. Colin begins by ranting about the pure craziness of trying to procure a PS5 in the current market. Eli gushes about his love of "Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart" while acknowledging its glitches, and Darryl finds his new love aka an incredibly difficult and grindy trophy list. In between it all there are discussions about narrative dissonance in open world games, the meaning of life, the "Star Wars: Squadrons" trophy list, and what options Sony has to compete with Game Pass. We hope you enjoy the show! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 34: Lombax and Chill

E

Hello trophy hunters and welcome back to episode 34 of the Trophy Talk Podcast! This episode has got some hits in it, that's for sure. While some of our long time listeners are in for a big surprise, so too are Darryl and Colin. Eli has been up to some stuff and he'll tell you about it later on in the show. Before we get to that though this show is full of all the goodies you've come to expect and love. We begin with a discussion of a return to normalcy, and Darryl's experience going to the movie theater again. After that the crew digs into the questions submitted via Patreon and has some great discussions concerning RNG trophies, games that don't have plats that we've 100%'d , and what Platinum trophy we would want removed from our list. After that we break down the trophy list for the upcoming PS5 exclusive, "Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart." Turns out that the trophy list looks pretty damn good and continues many of Sony's first party studios trends with regards to designing trophy lists. Lastly the show closes with what we've been playing, and the surprise alluded to before. We hope you enjoy the show, and are pretty sure you will. Thanks for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 33: Infallible

E

Hello trophy hunters and welcome back to episode 33! The crew is back recording a bit earlier in the morning than usual, and on little sleep so you may hear some small Freudian slips in this episode. Where is more coffee when you need it? Regardless this week saw some big news with regards to trophies, specifically in the realm of "Fall Guys". What was once an unobtainable incredibly rare trophy in "Infallible" became obtainable for quite a few folks this week. For a small window the trophy was boostable in private lobbies before being patched out. As we all utilized this method to get the trophy, we discuss the ethics of this and if generally speaking, we feel guilty about it. After that we discuss the trophy list for "Stranded Deep", another of the free PS + offerings for PS4 in the month of May. As always the team closes with what they've been playing. Eli has already finished his first play through of "Outriders" but is yearning for more! Darryl reaches a huge milestone and finally earns the platinum in "Friday the 13th", and Colin continues to inch towards the 100% in "Resident Evil: Village" while getting distracted by a new multiplayer game, "Knockout City." We hope you enjoy!!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 32: Committed to the Cause

E

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Trophy Talk Podcast! This week's show is quite the banger as we've all been playing some great games and been up to some nefarious deeds. The show begins with a pretty lengthy discussion answering questions submitted on Patreon as well as announcing the winner of the first leg of the trophy hunting race on the Discord! The crew then moves on to some news stories from recent weeks, including our take on the 100 Platinum stream. Also, Colin stands on his soapbox announcing confusion by the laziness in the "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance" port's trophy list. From there we touch on what we've been playing. Eli continues to expose all of us to a plethora of games, some greater than others, and some with some glitched achievements. Darryl moves ever onward and upward in his quest for the "Friday the 13th" platinum, and Colin gives a lengthy initial impression of "Resident Evil: Village". Thanks so much for listening to the show, we hope you enjoy! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 31: Patch Notes 2.1

E

Hello and welcome back to episode 31 of the Trophy Talk Podcast! In the beginning of the year we launched our Patreon page and titled the episode "2.0 Update Required." This week, as we get into the second trimester of the year, we felt it was time to share some updates with our community about our Patreon page, our trophy hunting race, and our community night. So, as a result, we're calling this episode "Patch Notes 2.1". We hope you all enjoy learning a bit more about the future content of the show and what you can expect for the next four months. After the housekeeping, we dive into the hard hitting question of whether or not it's okay to wear your shoes in the house when you get home from work, as well as the classic Patreon submitted questions we've all come to love. Would Eli truly be able to beat the Devil at Guitar Hero? He thinks so. After that, we have some brief news discussions before disecting the "Returnal" trophy list. Long story short, the game is likely going to be much harder than the trophy list would suggest. We close the show out as always with what we've been playing. Eli learns to let go of some of the games as service games he's been drawn to lately, Darryl provides more updates on "The Mean Greens" and his journey in Lordran, and Colin takes us back to the early 2000's with "Star Wars: Republic Commando". Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 30: Colin Needs Jeans

E

What's going on gamers! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. Quite a lot has been happening recently in the world of Sony. Announcements seem to be coming out every week concerning Sony studios, services, or titles. Typically speaking, the news hasn't been positive but it's certainly worth discussing at the top of the show. So, we do just that. Why would "Naughty dog" be remaking "The Last of Us", and what does that mean about the ecosystem? For some lighter discussion the team addresses quotidian topics like how often should a person wash their clothes, and what is a proper amount of jeans to own? For list reviews, this episode centers around "Days Gone" and "Outriders" both of which seem like solid trophy hunting options. Lastly, we get into what we've been playing. Eli continues to add larger titles to his games as service catalog by beginning "World of Warcraft", "League of Legends", and "Outriders". Can one man do all that? We don't think so. Darryl has come to almost the end of his journey in Lordran and "Dark Souls". Colin tries to cosplay as a drill sergeant in "Mean Greens" and "Star Wars: Republic Commando" but ultimately fails? All that and more behind the play button. Enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 29: Bad Habits

E

Hello and welcome back to episode 29 of Trophy Talk! The strange topics and Patreon questions this week are extra spicy as the crew debates things like: the proper way to eat ice cream, if mixing a bite of salad and pasta is okay, and which video game character we would want to be in real life. For our list discussion this week we touch on a smaller co-op game, It Takes Two. Which, as you'll find out the crew thinks has a pretty good list! We also discuss which games we would want to give the remaster treatment too, bringing their glory of days past in to the current era. As always the show ends with what we've been playing. Colin and Eli both have caught the PC gaming bug and have spent a great deal of time with League of Legends and Diablo 3 respectively. Darryl on the other hand has become master of his own fate and is already well on his way to completing NG+ in Dark Souls. So stay awhile and listen! We hope you enjoy the show. Happy hunting!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 28: Eloping with Schwarzenegger

E

Hello and welcome back to the Trophy Talk Podcast! Episode 28 shaped up to be quite the banger indeed! In a nice change of pace we start the show with our Patreon submitted questions, which interestingly this time, were not trophy related! Therefore, we spend the first 30 minutes or so of the show discussing what the best toppings for pizza are, and who are celebrity man crushes are. After that we jump in to disect and review the trophy lists for the PS+ offerings in March (Maquette, FF7 Remake, Farpoint VR, and Remnant from the Ashes). It seems that Sony is continuing its trend of releasing high quality games each month with this service and this month was a great one to review the trophy lists in. To round out the show we all catch up on what we've been playing. Colin starts a co-op journey in Remnant and finishes off his hunt in Resident Evil 7. Darryl continues to fight his way through sanity in Lordran / Dark Souls 1 Remastered, and Eli has found his new obsession in the PC version of Diablo 3. We hope you enjoy and thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 27: Burnt Meat and Toasted Buns

E

Hello and welcome back to the Trophy Talk Podcast! Episode 27 is a bit of a lengthy one but there was quite a bit to discuss. We begin the episode with some amendments for Episode 26 centered around the fact that Colin needs to be fact checked from time to time. From there the crew moves on to discuss the most recent Sony State of Play, the PS+ games offerings for March, and the trophy list for the newly released Persona 5 Strikers! In addition to a news heavy couple weeks, the crew has been getting busy with their progress. Darryl continues to learn and hone his skills in the realm of Lordran coming face to face with some of the most infamous bosses in Dark Souls. Eli figures out a way to break the game in his quest for 500 bounties in Diablo 3, and Colin somehow doesn't shit himself in working his way through Resident Evil 7s scares. The episode closes out with questions from our Patrons. We sincerely hope you enjoy the episode, thank you for listening!
