Trophy Talk Podcast- Episode 26: It Resembles a Podcast

E

Hello everybody and welcome back for Episode 26 of Trophy Talk! This episode is special one for us. Episode 26 marks the one years anniversary of the show! What an incredible milestone for all of us and we're so happy and grateful for those of you who have been part of our journey. Being a one year anniversary episode we take a little time at the top to reflect and to discuss the important things. How have our views on trophy hunting and gaming changed over the past year of doing the show? What constitutes a blouse? You know, the fun stuff. After that we take a look and compare our PlayStation Wrap Up statistics and discuss trophy lists for Little Nightmares II, and Destruction Allstars. We close out the show as always with questions from our Patreon supporters and updates on what we've been playing. Thank you so much for listening, we'll see you in Episode 27 =)

E

Hello Trophy Hunters and welcome to Episode 25 of Trophy Talk! We've reached the quarter century mark with this episode! What a journey indeed. We've got a great show in store for you this week. The crew begins with a discussion of DNA altering beverages, (trust me it's as weird as it sounds). Moving on from the goofiness we take a look at the recently released Hitman 3 and its Trophy list before getting in to some quick news stories on the Resident Evil Showcase, the current PSN Stores, and the PS Plus games for February. Rounding out the show we give our updates on the games we've been playing, including our first look into how Darryl is doing with Dark Souls! The episode ends with our questions submitted via Patreon and a shout out to our supporters. Thanks so much for listening and enjoy!! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 23: 2.0 Update Required

E

Well well, we've done it. We've arrived at 2021 and are coming up on almost a full year of Trophy Talk Podcast. First of all , to all the returning listeners thank you so much for your continued support and interest in the show. We're so pleased that people enjoy hearing us ramble about Trophy Hunting and the games we love and can't believe we get to continue to do this in 2021. This episode announces quite a few big changes for us. Namely, the launch of our Patreon, the addition of a Trophy Hunting Race to our Discord, and changes to where you can find Trophy Talk Podcast Merch. 2021 is starting off with a bang that's for sure. Of course, in addition to all that we have the same wholesome goodness you've come to know and love. Darryl, despite having internet for over two weeks has continued to make some big strides in his Trophy hunting. Eli and Colin do the same though with some pretty big variances in the types of games we've been playing (which is more interesting quite frankly). We also discuss our gaming resolutions for 2021 and how monks used to make eggnog. If that's not wild enough for you how about a little insight into Reindeer eating psychedelic mushrooms? Thanks for listening again, and we hope you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 22: Speed Running Through the Holidays

E

Hello and happy holidays everybody! It's been quite the year, I think we can all agree that 2021 being right around the corner is a good thing. However, just because this year has been difficult doesn't mean we didn't have some good Trophy hunts along the way. For us at Trophy Talk Podcast this year marked the beginning of our show, the founding of our community, and a great year for Trophy Hunting. From all of us to all of you, thank you so so much! Now for Episode 22. Since it is the Holiday season we figured we'd get family involved, Eli's brother is in town and on this episode he teaches and informs us a bit more about another niche aspect of gaming, Speed Running. Ben is a 007 Speedrunner whose been around in the scene for quite some time. Hopefully you all enjoy learning a bit more about the practice of speed running and all it entails! After that we close out the year with our top three trophy hunts of 2020 and of course our progress on the games we've been playing. Sit back and crack open that eggnog people, it's time to get festive! Enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 21: A Carnivore's Dilemma

E

Hello and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this, our 21st episode of the show, the three-man crew is back together. We're coming at you with those hard hitting questions about ketchup and eggs that you've all come to know and love. More importantly though, we discuss our irrational fear of eating chicken and fish that still has bones in it. On the news front, the gaming awards are coming up on December 10th and we give some preliminary thoughts on a few of the larger categories including Game of the Year. Additionally, as PS5 consoles continue to be hard to find the crew airs some grievances with scalpers and discusses ways that we can fight back against the rising trend. As always we close the show with what we've been playing and our trophy hunting progress. Colin chooses to keep his sanity and leave Crash 4 behind after reaching a percentage completion he feels comfortable with. Both Colin and Eli have gone super sonic in achieving their platinum trophies in Rocket League, and Darryl beats us all to the punch with owning noobs in Rogue Company. All of that and more is in store so sit down, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show. Thanks for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 20: Pass Me the Ketchup

E

Hello and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this, our 20th episode we are back to just a two man show as Darryl had some other matters to attend to. Have no fear though, this episode is still chalk full of the things you love. Namely, is it okay to use Ketchup on eggs? How about in Mac and Cheese? If that's not exciting enough for you we of course can't go without discussing the Trophy Lists for some of the PS5's launch line up games including Spider Man: Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, and Astro's Play Room. After that we discuss the games we've been playing and go in to a pretty in depth discussion with ranked gameplay in games vs. casual games. Once again, thank you so much for listening, check out our Discord channel to get more involved in our community, check out our Merch, and Happy Gaming =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 19: Ranking First and Second Party Games

E

Hello and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this, our 19th episode we have a special topic in store for you all. Coming up now on the end of the PS4s life cycle we at Trophy Talk thought it would be a fun idea to look at the major first and second party Sony releases across the PS4, and rate the titles based on their trophy lists. The end results is a ranking that you might not agree with. Some things might sound right, and others sound completely out of whack, that's for you to decide. Either way though we hope that this episode generates a lot of discussion and opinion no matter what you feel! We also touch briefly on the PS App update, the new trophy designs on the PS5 and PS App, and of course talk about what we've been playing. Enjoy!!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 18: If You Can Punch a Bee You Can Punt a Doll

E

Hello everybody and welcome back to Trophy Talk! It's that time of year, where pumpkins reign supreme, witches fly through out the sky, and horror movies invade our homes. Indeed, Spooktober is beautiful and in keeping with Episode 17 this episodes is all about horror media and the spooky games we've been playing. We start out the show by discussing some of the crew's favorite horror movies to watch this time of year. Some of us like the classics, others are scared of puppets . Can you guess who is who? After that we give our thoughts on the new PS5 UI videos that have been making the rounds and revisit our thoughts on the changes to the Trophy Eco System after it's been live a few weeks. As always we round out with what spooky games we've been playing for this month and announce the winner of Season 1 of the Trophy Hunting Quiz. Thanks so much for listening, we hope you enjoy, and Happy Halloween!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 17: Spooktober

E

Hello everyone and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In our 17th episode, (and the first of our two October / Spooktober episodes), there's quit a bit of heresy and malarkey to discuss. Fist, Sony dropped a bomb on us earlier in the week by completely overhauling the Trophy System and inflating our levels to infinity, and beyond. Second, Sony dropped another bomb by doing an engineering breakdown of it's PS5 console. What was our take away? The machine is massive and looks like a giant router, and other things that aren't so PG. In other more pressing discussion the crew looks into salads. Specifically, who enjoys them, who doesn't, and what's the preferred part of the lettuce to munch on. We round off our discussions with out trophy hunting progress. Darryl continues to inch closer to his completion of Mad Max, Eli shares a special moment with his stream and community in CoD Ghosts before beginning his journey near a black hole in Hellpoint, and Colin delves even deeper into retro spooky games with the Classic Castlevania Collection. The show ends with the final episode of this season's trophy hunting quiz! We hope you enjoy and thanks so much for listening! Happy Spooktober everybody!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 16: The Big Donut

E

Hello and welcome back to episode 16 of Trophy Talk! In this week's episode there's a lot of big news to cover. In addition to the Bethesda / Zenimax acquisition by Microsoft / Xbox, Darryl finds himself the owner of a new home, and Eli rekindles his love of pig skins (?) by watching his son learn to play soccer. Additionally , we discuss which genre of games lends itself best to trophy hunting, and which we think is the least suited genre for it. Spoiler alert, we all have pretty different answers. Getting into what we've been playing, Darryl hits his first major glitch in recent memory while trying to platinum Mad Max before the servers fade into nothing, and Eli works towards conquering yet another shooter campaign on Veteran in CoD: Ghosts. Colin finally finishes off his dream of becoming a master samurai in Samurai Jack, and also decides to help a weird space monster man save the universe in Trover Saves the Universe. The show ends as always with our trophy hunting quiz. Can Eli do it a second time and make a quiz that awards zero points to Darryl and Eli? You'll have to listen to find out! Happy Gaming! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 15: Sorry Sensei

E

Hello and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this, our 15th episode (my time does fly) the crew gives our full opinions and thoughts on the reveal of the Xbox Series S. Aside from Microsoft's horrible naming conventions, what does the release date and price say about what we can expect regarding PS5? We also discuss the Multiplayer reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and why Treyarch CoD titles always have such difficult trophy lists! Moving on from news, we ask ourselves which games in our backlog we sadly are never going to achieve the Platinum in, (looking at you Elder Scrolls: Online), before moving on to what we've been playing. Colin and Eli continue to grind out levels and wins in Fall Guys with the hopes that they can be done soon and delete it from their minds and consoles forever. Darryl worries about his skills in Friday the 13th atrophying from playing other titles, and Colin gives up more praise for Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time as his trophy hunt nears its completion. As always we finish the show off with our Trophy Quiz. We hope you enjoy and thank you so much for your support and for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 14: Don't Boost With Strangers

E

Hello everyone and welcome back to Trophy Talk! In episode 14 we have a lot to tell you with regards to our growing community (looking at you Discord) and with regards to our personal lives. What is the right age to start wearing glasses? Why do people have to make real estate decisions faster than any other decision in life? Are wildfire tornadoes the actual spawn of hell? Well we have answers to all if not most of those questions! After that we get into some of the recent gaming news including a lengthy discussion about Call of Duty and it's future with Black Ops: Cold War. As always we update you all on what we've been playing. Eli has been blowing up the feed with his rampage through Call of Duty: Ghosts, and with finishing up Anger Force: Reloaded. Darryl continues to cosplay as one of the most iconic serial killers in existence in his quest for the Friday the 13th platinum, and Colin jumps back in time, both in the style of game and the characters involved in his Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time playthrough. The show ends with our Trophy Hunting quiz as we edge closer to the end of the first season! Thank you all for listening and we hope you enjoy the episode =) https://discord.gg/GefdphM

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 13: Takes Two to Tango

E

Hello and welcome back to Trophy Talk! First let me (Colin) apologize for my audio for this episode. Our recording software decided to switch and record the audio from my webcam and not from my microphone at the last minute and thus the quality isn't up to my standard. I do greatly apologize but it will have to suffice for this episode. That aside, we at Trophy Talk really hope you enjoy the episode! We have some great discussions about the way we use trophy guides and videos and which among them are our favorites. After that we fall face first into a discussion around Fall Guys, and what other titles we've been playing. Darryl is having more success finding games in Friday the 13th, Eli finds a pallet cleanser game harder than he bargained for, and Colin becomes the ultimate demon slayer after achieving the Plat in Doom (2016). We end the show with a few shutouts and as always the Trophy Hunting Quiz! Thanks so much for listening and as always happy gaming =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 12: There's the Beef

E

Hello! Welcome back to Trophy Talk! In this episode we discuss the increasing allure of Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Ecosystem as we move closer and closer to next gen. In particular we discuss some of the differences in the two ecosystems with regards to trophy / achievement notifications and how Steam is severely lacking in this regard. Next we dive in to the new Destroy All Humans (Remake) trophy list and give an in depth comparison to the original PS2 port's trophy list that already existed on PS4. As always we then delve in to what we've been playing. Daryl finds himself grinding out a list on a game that is now near impossible to find matches in, aka Friday the 13th. Eli finally removes his training wheels for FPS titles by beating Battlefield 1 on Hard, and Colin revisits one of the most frenetic and fast paced shooters on the market, Doom(2016). The episode concludes with the fourth rendition of our Trophy Hunting Quiz with Colin as Quiz Master. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!

E

Hello all and welcome to the first episode of Coffee Kids. My name is Colin Kolhoven and my hope with this podcast series is to be able to provide a little insight, nostalgia, and entertainment on a wide array of (mostly nerdy ) topics. I think the people in my life, and the friends I've made up to this point are incredibly interesting and passionate people. It's my hope that after listening to the show that you'll agree. Who knows, you may even learn a thing or two, or think about a topic in a new way. Thanks for listening =) Also, apologies for the weird bumps during the recording. Still working out some of the editing kinks!
