Surviving the Horror - Episode 4: Dead Space Remake

Welcome one and all to episode 4 of Surviving the Horror, our monthly video game podcast all about survival horror games! In 2023 Motive Studio released a remake of one of the most beloved survival horror games of all time, Dead Space. Originally developed by Visceral games, and released in 2008, the original Dead Space is often praised for it's fantastic atmosphere, visceral combat, and intriguing space horror story. Seeing as Colin had only played the original once, and Josh had never played the game beyond its opening chapters, we felt it was only right to sit down and discuss the newest iteration of a genre classic. Innovating on ideas first introduced in Resident Evil 4, Alien, The Thing, and many other horror games and films, Dead Space tells a tale that mixes body horror and religious fanaticism in a way that very few things before it ever have. The end result is a story that's worth your time, and a game that is unrelenting in its pursuit of making you scared. Thank you for listening, and take care all!
