Reading Judges 4 for Saturday, December 2nd. Deborah was a mighty judge who directed Barak to lead a battle to defeat Israel’s enemies that had opressed them as a result of their falling into sin again.

Reading Judges 3 for Friday, December 1st. God saw the Israelites repeatedly turn to wickedness, then get overtaken and subjected to bondage by their enemies, cry out to God, and be delivered into a time of peace by a powerful judge.

Reading Romans 3 for Thursday, November 30th. Paul explains in his letter to the Romans that faith in God is what saves us, not strict observance of the law.

Reading Romans 2 for Wednesday, November 29th. Paul teaches the Jews that they should not be so quick to judge others, or they will be subject to a harsher judgement for themselves.

Reading Romans 1 for Tuesday, November 28th. Paul writes to the Christians in Rome about the importance of Jesus and the danger of being subjected to God’s wrath.

Reading Acts 27 for Friday, November 24th. Paul was a passenger on a ship and a prisoner who gave some navigation advice that was ignored due to the detriment of the ship and its cargo, but everyone survived.

Reading Judges 2 for Thursday, November 23rd. An angel of the Lord told the Israelites why they were going to be entering a season of losing.

Reading Judges 1 for Wednesday, November 22nd. The Canaanites were hard to get rid of and some they just couldn’t get rid of but they did better than before.

Reading Joshua 23 for Monday, November 20th. Joshua new that he was getting old, and had some things to remind the Israelites of before he died.

Reading Joshua 22 for Saturday, November 18th. When the eastern tribes went to their inherited land, they built an altar, and it looked like a pretty bad idea, until they explained what it was for.

Reading Joshua 21 for Friday, November 17th. The Levites get portions of land from the other tribes as God promised they would.

Reading Joshua 20 for Thursday, November 16th. The cities of refuge are designated by the Israelites, as God commanded Moses, now that they have land.

Reading Joshua 19 for Wednesday, November 15th. More land was divided for certain tribes of the Israelites.

Reading Joshua 18 for Tuesday, November 14th. Joshua asks the Israelites how long they’re going to wait before they take possession of the land that the Lord their God has already given to them.

Reading Joshua 17 for Monday, November 13th. Zelophehad’s daughters inherit the land God promised them, and the Canaanites proved difficult to remove.

Reading Acts 26 for Monday, October 30th. Paul is invited to make his defense, and shares his testimony.

Reading Acts 25 for Saturday, October 28th. Paul went to court again to be accused without basis.

Reading Acts 24 for Friday, October 27th. Paul was on trial before Felix and faced the accusers who made some false accusations against him. He stayed in prison.

Reading Acts 23 for Thursday, October 26th. People wanted Paul dead, and soldiers protected him when they learned of a conspiracy to murder him.

Reading Acts 22 for Wednesday, October 25th. Paul shared his testimony with the Jews who were accusing him.

Reading Joshua 6 for Tuesday, October 24th. The Israelites marched around Jericho for seven days, and then destroyed it, aside from Rahab and her family.

Reading Joshua 5 for Monday, October 23rd. The Israelite men were circumcised, and Joshua met the commander of the Lord’s Army, who told him to take off his sandals.

Reading Joshua 4 for Saturday, October 21st. The Israelites crossed over the Jordan River and it was dry. 12 men, representatives of each of the tribes, picked up stones from the riverbed and made an altar to remember what God had done.

Reading Joshua 3 for Friday, October 20th. God performed a miracle to affirm that he is with Joshua and the Israelites as they enter the promised land.

Reading Joshua 2 for Thursday, October 19th. Rahab the prostitute gave shelter and hid the the Israelite spies, and made a deal with them to spare her and her family when they invaded the city.

Reading Joshua 1 for Wednesday, October 18th. God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous, and the Israelites also tell him that.

Reading Deuteronomy 34 for Tuesday, October 17th. Moses died with his full strength and vision, and was a significant prophet in the history of Israel.

Reading Deuteronomy 33 for Monday, October 16th. Moses speaks a blessing for each of the tribes of Israel.

Reading Deuteronomy 32 for Saturday, October 14th. Moses recites a song for the Israelites to remember and to teach to their children, and Moses died on a mountain after seeing the promised land from a distance.

Reading Deuteronomy 31 for Friday, October 13th. Joshua is commissioned, and God predicts the idolatry that the Israelites will fall into after they have reached the promised land.

Reading Deuteronomy 30 for Thursday, October 12th. God offers the Israelites positive and negative reinforcement for their behavior; for their obedience and for their disobedience.
