Building A POWERFUL Morning Routine | Ep. 24

Study any person of high achievement or success and you'll quickly realize that their entire life is structured around routine. They don't do anything without purpose and more often than not, their days are time-blocked to ensure that they are getting the most out of every day, hour, and minute. And this all starts with how you begin your day. When you wake up, you have 1 of to choices to make. You can begin in a reactive state, allowing others and the outside world to dictate how you think and feel. This is done by immediately opening up social media or email and letting other people into your life before you've done anything for yourself. Or, you can do like Justin Schenck said in Episode 5, fill your cup up first. Why You Can't Rely On Willpower Alone | Ep. 21

Back again this week with another solo episode, and this time we're discussing why willpower alone is not enough for you to change. You know, it shocks me every time I speak with a guy about his porn addiction and he tells me he's fed up with the habits that he keeps falling in to, but when I ask him what is plan to overcome this is, he replies he's trying to go "NoFap" for 30 days, with hopes that this will help him break free. What he's basically saying is, "I have no plan, and I'm going to rely solely on my willpower to change..." Well where was your willpower for the past decade you've been addicted to porn? You see, in order to make a dramatic change or shift in our life, not only do we need a plan to get there, but we need a guide to show us the path and someone there to hold us accountable. Its the first of many solo podcasts that I plan on doing this year, to help men break free from porn addiction and create a life around their purpose. This entire process starts with understanding who you want to become in the future. This is not as simple as saying, "I no longer want to watch porn", or, "I want to take control of my body and lose fat while building muscle", or "I want to find a wife and start a family". All of these statements can be, or possibly are true, but there has to be a deeper understanding of how your future self lives his life. So in this episode, I walk you through the process I have used for the last 18 months to map our my life, which includes establishing a 5 year vision, as writing it out in the present text. The next step is one that most people neglect, and that's identifying the future that you're afraid of, which means you didn't fulfill your promise to yourself and ended up in the same place you are now, or more likely, in even worse scenario. Erik's journey is something incredibly special and signifies in such a powerful way the process and possibility of change. He struggled and battled with drug addiction, anxiety and greed. His life spiraled out of control and he found himself in a courtroom facing some serious time. Erik was sentenced to 4 years in prison and made a decision to do whatever it was going to take to transform his life. He spent his time relentlessly pursuing and studying personal development. He spent his time, day and night changing, tweaking and re-wiring himself to match the future self he wanted to create. As he started to create these changes down to the way he was physically walking, he had a desire to share this with others. Danny Vega is one of the leading authorities in the Ketogenic and Carnivore diet communities. We discuss how any man looking to build muscle while eating predominately meat needs to train, how to use "targeted" carb cycling, and discuss his latest muscle building program that he has created with former top IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski. A native of Miami, Florida, Danny received his bachelor's degree in political science from Columbia University in 2004, where he played football and was a three-time Dean's List recipient. Danny earned his Master's of Science in Human Performance from the University of Florida, where he worked with the national championship men's basketball team along with the tennis and golf programs. He then went on to become the Strength & Conditioning coordinator for VCU basketball, helping the Rams to the 2007 conference champions and making it to the second round of the NCAA tournament. As a raw powerlifter, he had meet bests of 640 squat in wraps (610 raw), 400 bench, and 700 deadlift. He has competed in indoor rowing, where he has personal bests of 1:19.9 in the 500 meter, 14.5 in the 100 meter, and 389 meters in the minute for distance—all 3 of them are Florida state records.
