S1 Ep 797How the FBI will investigate Kavanaugh, The treatment child-killers receive, & Brad Wall on Bill C-69

The Roy Green Show Podcast The confirmation vote for Judge Brett Kavanaugh has been delayed for one week. During that time, the FBI will investigate the accusation that he sexually assaulted Dr. Christine Ford. Roy looks at how the FBI investigation will go forward from here, what the FBI is able to do and how much investigating can actually be done in a week. Later, how much crisis management will be needed for the senators and others involved in the Kavanaugh hearing? And how does crisis management or “damage control” work? Terri-Lynne McClintic’s move to a lower-security Indigenous healing lodge is considered a travesty of justice by many. It is, however, not too unusual a decision from Correctional Services Canada. Scott Newark joins the show to explain why child-killers like McClintic, Harold Smeltzer and Karla Homolka receive favourable treatment. Canada’s small business community is facing shake-ups in the form of uncertainty surrounding the Trans Mountain Pipeline extension’s future, the current lack of a NAFTA resolution, and the legalization of marijuana offering opportunities to entrepreneurs. Meanwhile in Ontario, the Ford government will not proceed with raising minimum wage in 2019, and Alberta small business confidence is the lowest in the nation. During the parliamentary hearings on Bill C-75, Liberal MP Randy Boissonnault, a member of the parliamentary committee, appeared to pay no attention to Canadian mother Sheri Arsenault, who was there to testify her concerns about the bill; it seemed as if MP Boissonnault spent most of his time fixated on his two phones. S1 Ep 785Fallout from the anonymous NYT op-ed, Global carbon tax could do more harm than good, & Humboldt Broncos start their season

The Roy Green Show Podcast Following the court ruling over the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion, we look at the fate of the pipeline and Trudeau’s handling of the situation. Our guest Richard Masson, former CEO of the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission, says that what this means for Alberta and Canada’s economy is “real sad.” The New York Times published an anonymous op-ed, claimed to be written by an appointed White House senior staffer. It offered a scathing take on U.S. President Trump and also assured that there was a resistance working inside the White House. But will any of this have any long-term effect on Trump or the Republican? And Will the New York Times be viewed differently now, for publishing this piece? 18,000 people recently marched in Paris in support of taking actions in response to climate change. California Governor Jerry Brown will hold a conference in response to Trump pulling the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord. But there is evidence that shows that the Global Carbon Tax would drive up food prices and push an additional 78 million people toward hunger. Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, international economist and environmentalist, discusses this. The Humboldt Broncos begin their new season next week. They are matched up against the Nipawin Hawks in Nipawin, which is where the team was headed last April 6 of this year, when their bus was struck by a truck, resulting in the deaths of 16 people. We check in with Ryan Kessler of Global News Saskatchewan, to find out how the community of Humboldt is doing. Guests:Richard Masson, Executive Fellow at the University of Calgary School of Public Policy, and former CEO of the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission Fran Coombs, Managing Editor of Rasmussen Reports, and former senior editor with the Washington Times Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, international economist and environmentalist, Founder and Director of the Consensus Centre Think Tank in Copenhagen Ryan Kessler, Reporter with Global News Saskatchewan Learn more about your ad choices.
