Roy addresses the many issues in the Canadian political landscape have grabbed public attention, and caused much division. Maxime Bernier has announced his new political part, the People’s Party. And Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has publically called out Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has earned backlash for his plans to invoke the notwithstanding clause to cut the size of Toronto City Council. Former Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador Brian Peckford was actively involved in securing the Notwithstanding clause for the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He has made it clear that Ford is well within his rights to use this clause. And we replay Roy’s interview with former Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa, on why he had invoked the notwithstanding clause in the face of the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling regarding French language primacy law in Quebec.
