A look at the S&P 500 Short-index shows exactly the inverse: We're looking for a breakout above it's 50-DMA. NASDAQ Money flow indicator is very over-sold, and is likely will actually "out-perform" the S&P: Meaning, the S&P could "under-perform" the NASDAQ. Rally expectations call for adding market exposure for trading opportunities. Market correction of 5% still expected in June or July. S&P did hold 50-DMA on Friday (a bullish signal). NASDAQ, however, is much closer to triggering a Money Flow Buy-signal, struggling with resistance at the 50-DMA. Take note of correlation between Bonds and Stocks--at highest level since market peak in 2000, prior to DotCom bust. Bonds are predicting economic growth is nearing its peak, and sub-2% growth will return by next year, with inflationary pressures subsiding. This is not the 1970's-- economic shut down and trillions in economic stimulus weren't there then. Is this inflation sustainable or transitory? Look at CPI with Base Effects, and watch them work through the system. Also, Inflation cannot grow much faster than economic growth over time. Economic growth is likely to drop back down in the 2% levler (or less) as the effects of stimulus wear off. Money Flow gap between indicators and actual money flows is narrowing. NASDAQ is more over-sold than S&P at this point, and so may out-perform--may not go down as much! S&P indicator is still negative, keeping containment in sideways movement. Inflation could offset markets' performance, putting pressure on tech stocks. Emerging Markets still under performing, with more downside risk. (5/11/21) S&P sell off keeps money flows from triggering; downside price pressure precluding any breakout from consolidation range. Is the NASDAQ really over-sold, or over-bought?
