Weaker earnings & economic growth expectations could emerge by the end of May or early June, as rates rise, stimulus payments are spent, and higher taxes loom. Could the Stock Market Drop to 3800 in 2021? [4/20/21]
Bank of America is predicting the S&P 500 will end 2021 at the 3,800 level--a significant drop from this month's stratospheric levels, with stock buy-backs and insider sales at record levels as well. Earnings growth also at peak levels, and individual investor are all-in. B of A's numbers are "Priced for Perfection--" meaning, no provision for anything to "go wrong." Russell Small- and Mid-caps are still trending negatively, with money flows remaining negative. These areas will be hit hardest by a strengthening dollar. This will be key in the reflation trade in Small- and Mid-caps.
