You try to start an administrative project in Illinois, it is very difficult to do. Our Savior worked in a woodshop, not a cubicle.  Christ worked for 18 years on the wood by which he would redeem the world. Every nail Christ drove was a meditation on the ones that would pierce his hands. Our Savior, the Son of God, was a homeschooled carpenter who pounded nails, not a computer keyboard. In our age of digital distraction, San Damiano College for the Trades aims at restoring the trades to man so that he may support himself and his family through the honest work of his hands while contributing tangible goods to society.  Learn on your feet – You won’t fall asleep in the San Damiano classroom. Recovering an educational model from the days of St. Thomas Aquinas, San Damiano takes an active, dialectical, disputation-oriented approach to learning. Students come to class ready to stand and argue with each other and the faculty for or against important claims found in the greatest works written by the brightest minds and most passionate hearts of the western world.  San Damiano College for the Trades offers an integrated curriculum with no electives and no majors. Our liberal arts curriculum forms the mind through reading and discussing the great books—the greatest that has been thought and said by poets, philosophers, and theologians like Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, and Dante. Each course in theology and humanities features exemplars of discernment, prudence, and courage with saints’ lives and primary sources written by the saints. We were founded in 2024, this is our first year! This is our first year with students. We had 85 applications for only 22 spots. We ended up taking 24 total this year.

What exactly happens during a government shutdown? Who is effected the most?  In the event of a government shutdown, active-duty military members, including the National Guard and reservists on active duty, are required to report for duty but are not paid. Their paychecks are delayed until Congress passes new legislation and ends the shutdown. The Coast Guard is also affected, as it is funded through the Department of Homeland Security, so its members would also not be paid.    GAZA AND ISRAEL  What is going on over there? Did you hear what Trump said in the Oval Office the other day? Trump said he would NOT let Benjamin annex Gaza. Netanyahu went to the UN and 2/3 of the delegates walked out.  So all of Earth according to Netanyahu are anti-semites now. 21m   VICTIMS OF VIOLENT CRIMES Charlotte, NC – committee hearing held on Monday. HEADLINE: Grieving father blasts pols for allowing daughter Logan Federico’s career criminal killer to remain on the streets by Richard Pollina  Stephen Federico delivered a raw, gut-wrenching address during a congressional hearing in Charlotte aimed at tackling growing concerns over violent crime and repeat offenders — speaking just weeks after the high-profile murder of Ukrainian national Iryna Zarutska. His daughter, Logan Federico, was fatally shot on May 3 while visiting friends at USC in Columbia, South Carolina, after 30-year-old “career criminal” Alexander Dickey broke into the Cypress Street home. The father said that she apparently laid there for 7 hours before she was discovered. Alexander Dickey was committing 2.65 crimes a year since he was 15 years old. But nobody could figure out that he couldn’t be rehabilitated. Well, you’d have to put him in prison to see if he could be rehabilitated. Isn’t that the idea of prison? How have we allowed this to be the norm in our country? Something has to be done about these violent recidivist.  Perhaps it may be prudent for Attorney Generals to go back through their logs of violent offender cases.  6:35am cst SEGMENT 2 38m   HEADLINE: Louisiana Governor Asks Department of War to Deploy up to 1,000 National Guard Troops by Gary Bai  The troops would “support state and federal law enforcement agencies in addressing ongoing public safety concerns regarding high crime rates” throughout Louisiana, Landry wrote. Landry requested the troops under Title 32, which means that he retains command and control; however, the troops’ duties are federally funded and regulated. In his request, Landry said there have been “elevated violent crime rates” in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans, as well as shortages in local law enforcement. He said the state’s vulnerability to natural disasters made the issue more challenging, as public safety resources are strained, and that extra support would be especially helpful for significant events, including Mardi Gras and college football bowl games. You can’t go around yelling secede and then ask for Federal troops to keep the crime rates down. Why should taxpayers pay to enforce laws in other states? So why should a Texas taxpayer pay for Louisiana security and safety?  44m   TYLER JAMES ROBINSON HEARING I watched it yesterday and I’m still not sure what I watched. I watched from start to finish, he did not appear in court physically. The Judge issued an order stating there would be no media contact w/ anyone who was a witness or anyone who would be called as a witness. I’m still trying to figure the whole thing out. Was he wearing a breast plate? There is a theory that he was wearing a breast plate of some sort and it bounced off the plate into his neck. Whoever it was physically got away so there was enough planning involved in this.  He only needed one shot. Still want to tell me this is some rookie?  No follow up shots were heard, just a one and done. Assuming the assassin was satisfied he hit his target with the one shot. I don’t know how you catch this guy at this point. How do we find this guy? The crowd dispersed very quickly as they do in an active shooter event.  Can you get these kids cellphones? Does the campus security cameras have critical information?  How long will it take FBI etc to comb through those videos? How many angles?  This will all come out.  49m   AUDIO/VIDEO: Eye Witness Who Asked a Question at Utah Valley University – After I got done, I couldn’t exit because there was such a big crowd. 10-12 seconds later, the 2nd guest I talked to he was saying he was going to ask Charlie about transgender stuff but nothing about shootings. And right after he asked his question, Charlie was shot. Then right after that someone confessed to the shot but he didn’t have a weapon which makes me think this was clearly a set up and multiple people were involved. How can anyone defend this murderer?  This could be one of my daughters, they both live in big cities and they both take public transit on a daily basis.  What is disturbing is not just this crime but to know this is happening all over this country.  He was recently released on a cashless bail and asked to sign a promise to come back to court.  Had he been forced to pay a bond, he was already homeless and thus he would have been reprimanded to prison while waiting a court date. The look of horror on Iryna’s face will forever be burned into my brain. Can you flee the scene of a murder? If you see an automobile accident, can you be ticketed for leaving the scene? Is the US Attorney’s office of NC are they going to go back through case logs and review how many people were ROR and committed another crime?  Will they reverse this course? It is eerily similar to a drawing by the most recent transgender school shooter, who shot Christian children in Minneapolis last month. My fellow Americans if you are the praying type, please pray the swelling will go down as she is still in a fight for her life and every single family to a person is desperate that the death toll stays at 2. The second thing to those that are parents, there is no word to describe how these parents are feeling. If you are lucky enough to be a father, make sure you hug your kids tight because there are two families that will never be able to do that again. Can you imagine Kamala Harris or Joe Biden trying to make that statement? That doesn’t come from coaching that comes from faith and charity. VP JD VANCE ON X: I just left Minneapolis, where I was honored to meet with a number of grieving famlies and hear about their beautiful children–in particular Harper (10) and Fletcher (8), who died in the Annunciation school shooting. I also met another beautiful girl who is recovering well, thank God. We discussed a lot, but all the families had a couple of immediate requests: First, to pray for Sophia, who continues to fight for her life every day. Pray for her health, pray for her swelling to be controlled, and pray for strength for her parents, doctors, and nurses.  Second, don’t give the shooter the attention, but focus on the kids who were taken from us. I learned that Harper had a smile that could light up the room, that she loved visiting the national parks with her parents, and that she looked beautiful in her first communion gown. I learned that Fletcher was rambunctious and energetic, that he loved football and basketball, and that he had an amazing head of hair.  Yes, they were taken from their families far too soon.  But in their short lives they made a big mark on the many people who loved them.
