Be a Man Who Gives a Damn

The Call to Be a Man of Substance in Your Family, Country, and Community In a world that often emphasizes individual success and personal achievement, it’s crucial to take a step back and reflect on the values that truly define us. Recently, I had the privilege of attending an event that left a profound impact on my perspective—the gathering of “100 Men Who Give a Damn.” This assembly of like-minded individuals focused on a simple yet powerful notion: the importance of caring for our community. It ignited in me a renewed sense of purpose and a call to inspire men to embody toughness, masculinity, and virtue in their lives. The Essence of Virtue: Being a man of virtue goes beyond the external trappings of success; it delves into the very core of one’s character. Virtue encompasses a set of moral and ethical principles that guide our actions and decisions. It is about cultivating qualities like integrity, honesty, compassion, and responsibility. As men, it is our duty to embrace these virtues and, in doing so, contribute positively to our families, our country, and our communities. The Virtue of Family: Family is the cornerstone of a strong and resilient society. As men, our role within the family extends beyond being providers; we are the pillars of support, the leaders, and the role models. A man of virtue prioritizes his family’s well-being, fostering a nurturing environment where each member can thrive. This involves active engagement, effective communication, and a commitment to shared values. The Virtue of Country: Our commitment to virtue should extend to the broader context of our nation. Being a responsible citizen means actively participating in the betterment of our country. This could manifest in various ways—voting, engaging in civic activities, or even contributing to social causes. The Virtue of Community: The strength of a community is a reflection of the individuals within it. A man of virtue recognizes the interconnectedness of all members and actively works towards the betterment of the community. This involves a willingness to give back, support local initiatives, and foster a sense of belonging. The “100 Men Who Give a Damn” initiative exemplifies the power of collective action and the impact it can have on the community at large. Embracing Toughness and Responsibility: Being a man of virtue doesn’t mean shying away from toughness or responsibility. On the contrary, it involves facing challenges head-on with resilience, determination, and a sense of duty. True toughness lies not in physical strength alone but in the ability to navigate life’s complexities with grace and fortitude. In a world that often emphasizes individualism, the call to be a man of virtue stands out as a beacon of hope and purpose. Let us rise to the occasion, embracing the responsibilities that come with masculinity and cultivating a sense of virtue that extends to our families, our countries, and our communities. In doing so, we contribute to a world where true strength is measured not only by personal achievements but by the positive impact we have on the world around us. 100 Men Who Give a Damn Learn more about last nights cash award recipient organization Camp V

7 Steps to Building Unshakable Confidence

It was the eighth grade. I was elated. I didn’t want anyone to know I was elated, but-I was elated. I had just been nominated for class favorite. I know it’s silly, but it was eighth grade. At the time it meant a lot even if I did have to respond with an, “Aww shucks I’m so glad just to have been nominated.” I remember walking into the lunch room that day and being greeted by Amy Cameron. She walks up to me with her very rare accent in the small East Texas town of Sulphur Springs northern accent and declared, “You’re not eeeeven gonna win. Clint Murray is going to be the class favorite.” I just kind of smiled and nodded. It crushed me. My confidence had just been taken to the wood chipper.  “She’s right. I probably won’t win,” I thought to myself. Turns out, she was right and wrong. I didn’t win but neither did Clint. I think Brandon Brewer did. I really don’t remember that part.  Amy Cameron wasn’t a mean girl. She wasn’t a cheerleader. She wasn’t popular. I probably said 10 words to her throughout my entire primary school career which spanned almost 12 grades with Amy.  So why did this leave such an indelible mark on my confidence? Why was my confidence determined by someone who had little to no impact on my life? Although this incident occurred in the 8th grade, I’m sure the same scenario has played out in your adult life. Someone you didn’t know, didn’t like, someone who didn’t even like themselves took a sledgehammer to your confidence. It’s dumb.  What I’ve learned is whomever we blame for feeling bad about ourselves is the person we have given power over us. This is a bad move.  We need to separate opinions from facts and even then decide how much value and power they will have on our lives. I adopted a credo of sorts some time ago that sounds terribly arrogant, but I assure you it’s not meant to be. I don’t care about your opinion of me. I’m ok saying this because I care even less about you valuing my opinion. You see I don’t care if someone accepts my opinion as truth, fact, law, gospel or whatever you want to call it. I don’t need to be agreed with. Nor do I give weight to the opinions of others as it relates to how I judge myself. This is not to say I won’t take constructive criticism. To the contrary. If you are someone I admire and whose opinion I value that’s another story entirely. But if Amy Cameron’s opinion of me is negative I don’t give two shi**s. Why should I?  So lesson one: Don’t grant others the power of your confidence.  The next thing we must understand is that confidence comes with an intimate knowledge of who we are and what we believe. When you find yourself getting angry, defensive and worked up because someone differs with you on a topic this is a sure sign that you are insecure with your position. It’s critical to know what you know and have the ability to defend it to yourself not just to others. This doesn’t mean you can’t be wrong, but in order to have unwavering confidence you need to know your principles and beliefs better than anyone else.  Also, you need to know your strengths and weaknesses. If you have a strength, spend more time honing and developing it. Become a master of something you are good at. If you know you have the potential to go from good to great be great.  When you identify something you do poorly, eliminate the behavior or at leas work to improve it if it’s critical to your life. This will ensure you go through life knowing that you know your strengths and weaknesses and instead of defending your weaknesses you will be able to say, “Yep. You’re right. I suck at plumbing, but I’m working on it.” Here are some actions to take right now to develop confidence: Seek mastery in something important to you. Become exceptionally skilled at something you value. I recently sat with a guy who has excelled in business. We were once in similar industries, both entrepreneurs, and he stuck with it while I did not. The result is he has far surpassed me in net worth. However, he’s also overweight and unhealthy. He drinks a lot, smokes weed, and will most likely not live as long as I will. He doesn’t read good books, and he and his wife have a mediocre relationship at best. Frankly, save for his money, there is nothing I admire about him. On the other hand, I have become a master of my health and wellness. I have accumulated vast amounts of knowledge and wisdom through my self-study, and these are things I am very proud of. I am very proficient at “being healthy.” This gives me something to call upon in the back of my mind when he starts sharing his financial statement with me for the 187th time. My mastery of the thing that matters most to me boosts my confidence when it could be shaken by his mastery of finance. Mastery is the key to confidence in anything you are endeavoring to do. "Conquering the Abyss: Unraveling Your Potential through Small Acts of Courage"

In the journey towards unlocking our full potential, fear often acts as a formidable barrier, holding us back from reaching the heights we aspire to achieve. Renowned psychologist and author Jordan Peterson sheds light on the significance of confronting our fears, advocating for the transformative power of facing challenges head-on. In this blog post, we will explore the concept of breaking down our greatest fears into manageable, bite-sized activities to pave the way for personal growth and the revelation of untapped potential. The Abyss of Fear: Jordan Peterson often speaks about the metaphorical abyss, the unknown and intimidating aspects of life that evoke fear and hesitation. These fears can range from professional challenges to personal insecurities, casting a shadow over our aspirations. Instead of being paralyzed by the enormity of these fears, Peterson suggests breaking them down into smaller, more manageable components. Deconstructing Fear: Identify the Fear: Before embarking on the journey of conquering your fears, it’s crucial to identify and acknowledge them. What exactly are you afraid of? Is it public speaking, taking risks, or facing rejection? Break it Down: Once identified, deconstruct the fear into smaller, digestible parts. For instance, if the fear is public speaking, break it down into researching the topic, practicing in front of a mirror, and gradually escalating to speaking in front of a small audience. Set Achievable Goals:Establish realistic and achievable goals for each component of your fear. By setting smaller, manageable milestones, you create a roadmap that leads you through the fear without overwhelming yourself. The Incremental Approach: Peterson often emphasizes the importance of incremental progress in overcoming fears. By gradually exposing yourself to the elements of your fear, you build resilience and develop the skills necessary to face more significant challenges. This approach aligns with the idea that true growth occurs not in the avoidance of discomfort but in the active pursuit of it. Embracing Discomfort: Peterson encourages individuals to voluntarily confront challenges, willingly exposing themselves to discomfort to foster personal growth. By breaking down fears into smaller tasks, you not only make the process more manageable but also cultivate a mindset that embraces the discomfort necessary for development. Realizing Your Potential: As you navigate through the smaller components of your fears, you begin to witness the unveiling of your potential. The skills you develop in facing adversity, the resilience you build, and the lessons you learn contribute to a stronger, more capable version of yourself. Conclusion: Conquering your greatest fears is not an overnight endeavor; it’s a gradual, step-by-step process. Jordan Peterson’s insights guide us towards facing the abyss with courage and breaking down our fears into smaller, digestible challenges. By adopting this approach, you not only overcome immediate obstacles but also unearth the vast reservoir of potential that lies within. Embrace the discomfort, confront the unknown, and watch as your journey towards your full potential unfolds one small act of courage at a time.

AHF-Mastering Stress-The Silent Killer

The Vital Importance of Managing Stress for Your Health Welcome back to The Jason Wright Show Authentic Health Friday! On today’s show, we’re diving into a critical topic: stress and its profound impact on our health. As Dr. Gus Vickery and I recently discussed on our podcast, managing stress is not just a lifestyle choice; it’s a necessity for maintaining our physical and mental well-being. In this blog entry, we’ll explore the myriad ways stress can harm us and the imperative need to keep it in check. The Physical Toll of Stress: Cardiovascular Health: One of the most significant areas where stress can wreak havoc is on our cardiovascular system. Chronic stress can lead to an increase in heart rate and blood pressure, which, over time, can contribute to the development of heart diseases. It also raises the risk of suffering a stroke. So, when it comes to your heart, stress is an enemy that needs to be managed. Immune System: Stress can weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to illnesses. When we’re stressed, our body releases cortisol, a hormone that suppresses the immune response. This makes it harder for your body to fight off infections, leaving you more prone to colds, flu, and other illnesses. Digestive Problems: Digestive ailments such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), indigestion, and acid reflux are closely linked to stress. The gut-brain connection is a powerful one, and when stress takes a toll on your mind, it can manifest in physical discomfort in your digestive tract. The Internal Ailments of Stress: Mental Health: Stress is not just a physical burden; it affects our mental health profoundly. Anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues are often exacerbated or triggered by chronic stress. Prolonged stress can lead to emotional burnout, making it essential to address these issues before they become overwhelming. Sleep Disturbances: Quality sleep is essential for overall health, and stress can disrupt our sleep patterns. Insomnia or restless sleep can result from a racing mind, making you feel tired and groggy during the day. Adequate rest is crucial for mental clarity and emotional stability. Cognitive Function: Stress can impair cognitive function, affecting memory, concentration, and decision-making. This can have serious consequences in both our personal and professional lives, so managing stress is essential to stay sharp and focused. Why Managing Stress Is Imperative: Improved Physical Health: By actively managing stress through techniques such as meditation, exercise, and deep breathing, we can reduce our risk of developing chronic health conditions. Lowering stress levels can protect our heart, immune system, and digestive health. Enhanced Mental Well-being: When we prioritize stress management, we experience improved mental health. Reduced anxiety and depression symptoms, combined with better sleep and cognitive function, lead to a more balanced and happier life. Stronger Resilience: A consistent stress management routine enhances our resilience, enabling us to better handle life’s challenges and setbacks. It equips us with the tools to navigate stressors without succumbing to their negative effects. As we explored on The Jason Wright Show Authentic Health Friday, managing stress is not a luxury; it’s a fundamental aspect of maintaining our health and well-being. The physical and internal ailments that stress can cause are numerous, making it essential to prioritize stress reduction techniques in our daily lives. By doing so, we can protect our hearts, fortify our immune systems, and preserve our mental and emotional balance. So, let’s make stress management a top priority on our journey to authentic health.

Burn More Fat: A Deep Dive On Acetyl L Carnitine A Swiss Army Knife Molecule

So you want to add supplementation to your diet. Cool. What supplements will you add? More importantly, why? Knowing the “why” is what will keep you taking them. In this episode we take a look at why I take ALCAR. Unlocking the Benefits of Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR) In the quest for better health and well-being, people often turn to supplements to enhance their vitality and cognitive function. One such supplement that has gained popularity in recent years is Acetyl-L-Carnitine, or ALCAR. ALCAR is an amino acid derivative, and its unique properties offer a range of potential benefits that make it an intriguing addition to one’s health regimen. Enhanced Cognitive Function One of the most significant and widely studied benefits of ALCAR is its potential to enhance cognitive function. It’s often referred to as a “brain booster” due to its positive impact on memory, focus, and mental clarity. ALCAR’s role in the brain’s energy production and neurotransmitter function can contribute to improved cognitive performance, making it a promising supplement for those seeking to sharpen their mental faculties. Increased Energy Levels ALCAR plays a pivotal role in the transport of fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they are converted into energy. This makes it an excellent choice for those looking to boost their physical and mental stamina. Whether you’re an athlete looking to enhance your performance or someone dealing with occasional fatigue, ALCAR’s energy-enhancing properties can be a game-changer. Antioxidant Protection In addition to its energy-boosting capabilities, ALCAR is a potent antioxidant. This means it can help protect your cells from oxidative stress and damage caused by free radicals. This protective effect can contribute to overall health and well-being, potentially slowing down the aging process and reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Neuroprotection ALCAR has garnered attention for its potential neuroprotective properties. It may support the nervous system and protect against neurodegenerative diseases. Research suggests that ALCAR can enhance the availability of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter vital for memory and learning, which can be particularly valuable in aging populations. Mood Enhancement Some individuals have reported improvements in mood and overall well-being when taking ALCAR. This could be linked to its influence on neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin. While ALCAR is not a substitute for professional mental health care, its mood-enhancing potential is worth exploring, especially for those seeking a natural mood lift. In summary, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, or ALCAR, is a versatile supplement with a wide array of potential benefits. From its ability to sharpen cognitive function and boost energy levels to its protective properties against oxidative stress and potential neuroprotection, ALCAR holds great promise. However, it’s essential to remember that individual responses may vary, and ALCAR is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Before adding ALCAR or any supplement to your daily routine, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional to ensure it is appropriate for your specific needs and circumstances. While ALCAR can be a valuable addition to your wellness toolkit, it should be considered alongside a balanced diet, regular exercise, and other lifestyle factors that contribute to overall health and vitality.

You Don't Have To Do ANYTHING!

The Power of Choice: Embracing Your Freedom to Decide Hey there, folks! I’ve got some incredible news for you. You don’t have to do anything. Not one single thing. You truly don’t have to. For instance, if you’re still lying in bed, and for some reason, you decided the first thing you’d do is put in your headphones and listen to the Jason Wright show, first of all, thanks. But secondly, you didn’t have to. And guess what? For the rest of the day, you don’t have to do anything. Now, chances are you’re going to get out of bed, brush your teeth, and start your day, but remember, you don’t have to. Each time you get out of bed, eat, or make any daily decisions, it’s because you chose to. You didn’t have to, but you decided to. Now, of course, life throws rules and obligations at us that make us feel like we have to do certain things, like getting out of bed to keep our jobs. Yeah, you should probably get out of bed not to be seen as a lazy schlub. But remember, you don’t have to. You still have the freedom to choose, and I hope you decide to. Moreover, you don’t even have to go to work today. It’s entirely up to you. You get to decide whether or not you’re going to go to work. And if you do, there’s a whole series of decisions that come with it. You can choose to be a beacon of light or darkness in your workplace. Decide whether to greet people with a smile or a frown. You can also decide whether to do just enough to get by or to stand out. Not for promotion or recognition but because you choose to excel. But here’s the kicker – you don’t even have to go home tonight. You can stay at the office if you want to, just sit there until the next morning. But, I highly recommend going home. It’s your choice, and if you decide to go home, why not choose to be fully present in your house with your children and your spouse? You decided to go, so why not decide to be the best version of yourself while you’re there? The point I’m trying to make is that we often take life for granted, going through the motions on autopilot, coasting through the day. But the cool thing is this: You don’t have to do anything. Every single thing you do, from the moment you get out of bed until you go to sleep, is a result of decisions you’ve made. Life is the culmination of countless decisions, both big and small, and they are all decisions you’ve made. That’s what life is all about. It’s the result of a bunch of decisions you’ve made. I want you to remember this because too often, people fall into the trap of thinking that their life is fixed, that where they are now is where they’ll always be. They believe that their circumstances are dictated by the decisions of others, and they’ve simply fallen into their current place. But that’s not true. You and I have agency. We have the freedom to make decisions. Even in the direst of circumstances, people have the power to choose. Remember Victor Frankl, the author of “Man’s Search for Meaning”? He observed that even in the worst circumstances, very few people attempted suicide. They didn’t have to stay alive, but most of them chose to. Why? Because nobody truly wants to die. So, if you’ve decided to be here, to stick around, then why not decide to make the absolute best of it? You’re going to face obstacles, things might take longer than expected, and you might not have everything you desire. But here’s the thing: there are still countless decisions you and I can make every day, no matter our circumstances. Holocaust survivors and prisoners of war decided to keep living, hoping for a brighter day. So can’t we decide to make the best of our freedom, our jobs, our families, and our homes? It’s all up to us to decide. Remember, you don’t have to do anything, but I hope you decide to do many great things. And when you make those decisions, give it your all. Strive to improve your choices, always and in every way. You have that freedom.

We appreciate the artistry and emotion that “100 Years” brought to our podcast, and we hope our listeners enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you, John Ondrasik, for your contribution to our episode’s atmosphere. What if we are actually living in the “good old days”? I’m someone who has spent a great deal of my life being nostalgic for the past, anxious for the future, and completely disregarding the present. And that’s a problem. As I’ve tried to correct this habit that has plagued me for years, I’ve come to realize something profound: We are currently living in tomorrow’s “good old days.” This realization struck me last night when I attended my first hometown homecoming football game since graduating high school. As I sat there, I couldn’t help but think about how those were supposed to be the days I’d look back on as the “good old days.” But, by being more mindful and present in the moment, I understood that the present time we’re living in right now will one day be our “good old days.” I gained a greater appreciation for the times when I played on that football field, with the stadium filled with cheering fans supporting me and my teammates. Despite the fact that I didn’t particularly enjoy playing football back then, I now look back on those moments with fondness. It was a time of innocence, with far fewer worries and concerns – it was high school, after all. Instead of looking back at last night as some distant, perfect past, I paused to reflect on today. Right now, I have the opportunity to create my own “good old days” or, as I’d like to call them, “battle days.” Moreover, I can integrate the memories of those “good old days” into my life’s rich tapestry, which includes its fair share of good, bad, highs, and lows. It was a refreshing experience to be able to enjoy the football game without longing to go back in time and correct past mistakes. I’ll admit, I’ve been quite hard on myself over the years, always striving for self-improvement and discipline. However, there’s a fine line between holding yourself accountable and having unrealistic expectations of yourself. Last night was fantastic as I watched the Sulphur Springs Wildcats play, alongside one of my best friends from high school, Ryan McKenzie – the greatest guy I’ve ever known. To my buddy, Mario Thomas, whom I hadn’t seen in years, you made the evening even more special. It’s incredible how he hasn’t aged a day since our high school graduation, like a real-life freak of nature. He looks the same, sounds the same – it was absolutely amazing. I’m the kind of guy who’s so focused on moving forward that I don’t often allow myself to revisit the past. I used to be a die-hard nostalgic, constantly yearning for the good old days. In my mind, I thought those times were better and that I had so much life ahead of me. It led to me being hard on myself, thinking I’d made mistakes. Now, I can relish those moments, like I did last night, and realize that life is beautiful if we choose to make it that way. Some of you may be listening and thinking, “This doesn’t resonate with me. I’ve always been this way.” You’re someone who can find the sun even on the darkest days. I envy your ability to do so, and I’m learning to be more joyful and content, thanks in large part to my wife, Jemilynn . She’s encouraged me to be present and focus on what I’ve previously called “experience dividends” – those moments of joy and sweetness that we sometimes neglect due to our preoccupation with bills and responsibilities. After all, if these are tomorrow’s “good old days,” why not make them as wonderful as possible, no matter what’s happening in your life? Remember that we are the curators and designers of our own lives, and there’s no reason to design anything less than a fantastic, remarkable, and beautiful “good old day.” Instead of avoiding those moments in the past that bring up regrets and mistakes, embrace them. This is where you’re supposed to be, and if you don’t like it, you have the power to change it. Wherever you go, there you are, and you can choose to change your circumstances with courage. So, I wanted to take a moment today to share the eye-opening experience I had last night at the Sulphur Springs Wildcat football game during homecoming 2023 – my first in nearly 30 yea

Authentic Health Friday-Proper Hydration and Breathing

The Dynamic Duo: Hydration and Proper Breathing for Optimal Well-being In the pursuit of a healthy and balanced life, two fundamental elements often take a back seat in our daily routines: hydration and proper breathing. These seemingly simple practices can have a profound impact on our physical and mental well-being. In this blog, we’ll explore the importance of both staying adequately hydrated and practicing proper breathing techniques. We’ll also provide you with valuable tips to master the art of hydration and share a few breathing techniques that can help you feel more relaxed and energized. The Importance of Hydration Water is the elixir of life. Our bodies are composed of about 60% water, making it an essential nutrient for maintaining every bodily function. Staying properly hydrated offers numerous benefits: Regulates Body Temperature: Water helps control your body temperature, ensuring you don’t overheat or become too cold. Flushes Toxins: Adequate hydration helps your body eliminate waste and toxins through urine and sweat. Enhances Cognitive Function: Dehydration can lead to reduced focus and concentration. Staying hydrated keeps your brain functioning optimally. Supports Digestion: Water aids in the digestion process and the absorption of nutrients. Promotes Healthy Skin: Well-hydrated skin appears more radiant and youthful. Prevents Muscle Cramps: Muscles work more efficiently when they are properly hydrated, reducing the risk of painful cramps. Tips for Staying Hydrated Carry a reusable water bottle with you wherever you go to remind yourself to drink regularly. Set hydration goals and track your intake throughout the day. Eat water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables to supplement your water intake. Avoid excessive consumption of caffeinated and alcoholic beverages, which can lead to dehydration. Drink water before, during, and after physical activities. The Importance of Proper Breathing Breathing is something we do unconsciously, but conscious and controlled breathing can bring a wealth of benefits. Proper breathing techniques can: Reduce Stress: Deep, rhythmic breathing activates the body’s relaxation response, reducing stress and anxiety. Boost Energy Levels: Oxygen is essential for energy production. Proper breathing ensures efficient oxygen delivery to your cells. Enhance Focus: Conscious breathing can sharpen your concentration and mental clarity. Improve Lung Function: Practicing deep breathing can help increase lung capacity and overall respiratory health. Breathing Techniques Here are a few breathing techniques you can incorporate into your daily routine: Deep Breathing: Find a quiet space, sit or lie down comfortably, and take slow, deep breaths. Inhale for a count of four, hold for four, and exhale for four. Repeat several times to relax your mind and body. 4-7-8 Breathing: Breathe in quietly through your nose for a count of four, hold your breath for a count of seven, and exhale completely through your mouth for a count of eight. This technique can help you fall asleep or calm down in stressful situations. Box Breathing: Inhale, hold, exhale, and hold for equal counts, typically 4 seconds each. Visualize a square to remember this pattern. Alternate Nostril Breathing: Sit comfortably and use your thumb and ring finger to alternately close off one nostril while you inhale and exhale through the other. This technique can balance your energy and reduce stress. Get a FREE copy of Dr Gus’ book https://ebook.drgusvickery.com

Authentic Health Friday-Glucose Management and Metabolic Health

The Crucial Link Between Glucose Management and Longevity: Insights from Dr. Gus Vickery Welcome to “Authentic Health Friday” with Jason Wright. Today, we delve into a topic that’s fundamental to our overall well-being and longevity: glucose management and metabolic health. We’re joined by the esteemed Dr. Gus Vickery, who will shed light on the significance of glucose management and the role it plays in our journey towards a longer, healthier life. Understanding Glucose Management Glucose management is a cornerstone of metabolic health. It refers to the body’s ability to regulate the level of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream effectively. This process is primarily controlled by the hormone insulin, which allows cells to take in glucose and use it for energy. When our body’s ability to manage glucose becomes compromised, it can lead to a host of health issues, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and more. Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM): A Game-Changer One revolutionary tool that has emerged in recent years to aid in glucose management is the Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM). CGMs are wearable devices that continuously measure glucose levels in real time, providing invaluable insights into how our bodies respond to food, exercise, stress, and other factors. Dr. Vickery notes, “CGMs are a game-changer because they offer a window into our metabolic health that was previously inaccessible. They help individuals make informed decisions about their diet, exercise, and lifestyle, empowering them to take control of their health.” The Importance of Glucose and Insulin Sensitivity One of the key takeaways from our discussion with Dr. Vickery is the vital role of insulin sensitivity in glucose management. Insulin sensitivity refers to how well our cells respond to insulin’s signals to take in glucose. Individuals with high insulin sensitivity require less insulin to keep their blood sugar levels in check, which is associated with better metabolic health. “When we enhance insulin sensitivity,” Dr. Vickery emphasizes, “we reduce the risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. This is not only crucial for preventing disease but also for promoting longevity.” The Longevity Connection So, how does all of this relate to longevity? The link between glucose management, insulin sensitivity, and longevity is profound. Here’s how it works: Reduced Risk of Chronic Diseases: Effective glucose management and improved insulin sensitivity reduce the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and even certain types of cancer. These conditions can significantly shorten our lifespan, so preventing them is paramount for longevity. Cellular Health: When glucose levels are consistently high, it can lead to oxidative stress and inflammation, which can damage cells and accelerate the aging process. Proper glucose management helps maintain cellular health and integrity. Energy Balance: Stable glucose levels promote a consistent energy supply to our cells, ensuring they function optimally. This energy balance contributes to overall well-being and longevity. Cognitive Health: There’s a growing body of research linking poor glucose management to cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. Managing glucose effectively may help preserve cognitive function as we age. Key Takeaways As we wrap up our discussion with Dr. Gus Vickery, it’s evident that glucose management and insulin sensitivity are fundamental to achieving a longer, healthier life. Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) have emerged as a powerful tool to aid in this quest, providing real-time data to inform our dietary and lifestyle choices. Dr. Vickery leaves us with this valuable insight, “Managing glucose is not just about avoiding sugary foods; it’s about understanding how our body responds to various foods and activities. By optimizing our metabolic health, we can unlock the potential for a longer and more vibrant life.” In conclusion, whether you’re embarking on a journey toward better metabolic health or seeking ways to improve your longevity, paying attention to your glucose management and insulin sensitivity is a wise and proactive step. Join us on “Authentic Health Friday” as we continue to explore topics that empower you to live your healthiest, most authentic life.

"War Dog"-David Packouz the Real Life Arms Dealer Depicted by Miles Teller in War Dogs: Entrepreneurship, Starting Over and How it All Happened

Wow! What a fascinating life. David Packouz has lived such a crazy life a portion of it was worthy of a blockbuster film-“War Dogs” War Dogs Official Trailer-David Packouz was portrayed by Miles Teller This was such a great conversation with a serial entrepreneur who has gone from boom to bust and finally to normal. David Mordechai Packouz (born February 16, 1982) is an American former arms dealer, musician, and inventor. In 2005, Mr. Paccoes joined Ephraim DiVeroli of DiVeroli’s arms company AEY Inc. By the end of 2006, the company had won 149 contracts worth approximately $10.5 million. In early 2007, AEY won a $300 million U.S. government contract to supply the Afghan Army with 100 million rounds of AK-47 ammunition, millions of rounds of SVD Dragunov sniper rifles, aeronautical rockets and other ammunition. . The ammunition that AEY secured in Albania to fulfill the contract originally came from China and violated a clause in the contract between AEY and the US military that prohibited Chinese ammunition. Pakouz recognized that its products were banned and unacceptable, and contributed to the cover-up of the munitions’ origins. As a result of this contract and the propaganda around the arms dealer’s age, when AEY closed the ammunition deal, Paccoes was 25 and Diveroli was 21, prompting the U.S. Army to begin reviewing contracting procedures. Paccoes was sentenced to seven months in prison. House arrest for conspiracy to defraud the United States. He is the central subject of the 2016 Todd Phillips drama film War Dogs. Pakouz himself has a cameo in the film as a guitarist and singer in a retirement home. Packouz invented the guitar pedal drum machine BeatBuddy and is currently CEO of music technology company Singular Sound.

Authentic Health Fridays: This is Why You Aren't Hitting Your Health Goals

Title: The Power of Words: How Self-Talk Can Sabotage Our Goals and Actions Introduction Words have an incredible influence over our lives, from shaping our thoughts and beliefs to guiding our actions and decisions. But have you ever considered how the words you tell yourself can either drive you towards your goals or sabotage your efforts? In this blog, we will delve into the impact of self-talk on our aspirations, particularly in the context of procrastination. We’ll also draw inspiration from W. Clement Stone’s “Do it now” philosophy and discuss how initiatives like the Jason Wright Show’s Authentic Health Fridays with Dr. Gus Vickery aim to help individuals optimize their health. The Power of Self-Talk Our inner dialogue, or self-talk, can either be our greatest ally or our most formidable adversary. The words we choose to use when thinking or speaking about our goals and actions can significantly influence the outcomes we achieve. Negative self-talk, filled with doubt and procrastination, can be particularly damaging. Procrastination: The Silent Goal Killer Procrastination, often fueled by negative self-talk, is one of the most insidious ways our goals are derailed. When we tell ourselves, “I’ll start tomorrow,” or “I’m not ready yet,” we create mental barriers that hinder progress. Procrastination robs us of precious time and prevents us from reaching our full potential. W. Clement Stone’s “Do it now” Philosophy W. Clement Stone, a successful businessman and philanthropist, believed in the power of immediate action. His mantra, “Do it now,” emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps towards one’s goals. Stone understood that procrastination is the enemy of progress and that the words we tell ourselves should always propel us forward. Authentic Health Fridays with Dr. Gus Vickery In the pursuit of our goals, whether they relate to our health, career, or personal development, it’s crucial to have the right guidance and support. The Jason Wright Show’s “Authentic Health Fridays with Dr. Gus Vickery” is one such initiative that aims to empower individuals to optimize their health based on their body’s unique design. Dr. Gus Vickery, a renowned expert in the field of health and wellness, encourages individuals to make positive changes in their lives by adopting a personalized approach to health. By understanding their bodies and needs, people can set realistic goals and overcome the negative self-talk that often sabotages their health journeys. The words we tell ourselves have the power to shape our destinies. Negative self-talk, driven by procrastination, can be a formidable obstacle on our path to success. To overcome these hurdles, we can draw inspiration from W. Clement Stone’s “Do it now” philosophy and seek guidance from experts like Dr. Gus Vickery on initiatives like the Jason Wright Show’s Authentic Health Fridays. Remember, the words you choose can either hold you back or propel you forward; choose them wisely and watch your goals become reality. "Wright On" Wednesday-Wright On Breaking Bad Habits: What's Your Identity?

Breaking Bad Habits: The Power of Identity-Based Habits Today, we’re diving into the fascinating world of habit formation and how you can break free from those pesky bad habits that have been holding you back. We’ll explore the groundbreaking insights of James Clear, author of “Atomic Habits,” and discover the transformative concept of identity-based habits. Habits and Identity: Habits play a significant role in our lives, influencing our success, well-being, and overall happiness. James Clear’s book, “Atomic Habits,” has become a beacon of guidance for anyone looking to understand and harness the power of habits. Clear emphasizes the importance of identity-based habits, a concept that goes beyond the mere act of habit formation and delves deep into the core of our identities. The traditional approach to habit change often focuses on the behavior itself. For instance, if you want to quit smoking, you might focus on resisting the urge to light up. However, this approach can be limiting because it neglects the underlying beliefs and identity that drive the behavior. Identity-Based Habits Defined: Identity-based habits are grounded in the idea that true behavior change begins by first shifting your identity, the way you perceive yourself. Instead of trying to change what you do, you start by changing who you believe you are. This concept recognizes that we are more likely to stick with habits that align with our self-image. For instance, if you see yourself as a non-smoker rather than someone trying to quit smoking, the decision to decline a cigarette becomes less of a battle. Your identity has already integrated the habit, making it more natural and less strenuous to maintain. The Habit Loop: To understand identity-based habits better, let’s revisit the habit loop, a fundamental concept in “Atomic Habits.” The habit loop consists of three components: cue, routine, and reward. Traditionally, people focus on modifying the routine, but identity-based habits go deeper. Cue: This is the trigger that initiates the habit. Routine: The actual behavior or action. Reward: The positive outcome or feeling associated with completing the routine. Identity-based habits insert a crucial fourth element into this loop: Identity: The self-image or belief that underlies the habit. Practical Steps for Embracing Identity-Based Habits: Self-reflection: Begin by examining your current self-image. What identities are shaping your habits? Identify both the positive and negative aspects of your identity. Define your desired identity: Clearly articulate who you want to become. Instead of saying, “I want to lose weight,” say, “I am someone who values and prioritizes health.” Align habits with identity: Map out the behaviors that align with your desired identity. Break them down into smaller, manageable steps to make them more achievable. Consistency is key: Practice these identity-based habits consistently. Remember, you are not changing behaviors; you are transforming your identity. Embrace setbacks: Understand that changing your identity and habits is a journey with ups and downs. Don’t be discouraged by setbacks; instead, use them as opportunities for growth. Conclusion: Breaking bad habits and building new, positive ones is a transformative journey. James Clear’s concept of identity-based habits, as outlined in “Atomic Habits,” provides a powerful framework to help you make lasting changes in your life. By aligning your habits with your desired identity, you can unlock your full potential and create a life that reflects the person you aspire to be. Remember, it’s not just about what you do; it’s about who you believe you are. Embrace your new identity, and watch as your habits naturally fall in line with the life you’ve always wanted. So, go ahead, rewrite your story, and let your identity-based habits pave the way to a brighter future. ———————————————————Follow me on Social MediaIntagramTwitterYouTubeFaceBookLinkedIn———————————————————–Grab a Copy of My Books“The Stone Chiseler”“Push Play: Taking Your Life Off Pause”——————————————————–Want to Improve always in ALL ways? Money Monday: Massive Action Leads to Massive Financial Success

Title: Taking Massive Action: The Key to Securing Your Financial Future In the journey towards financial success, one pivotal moment stands out—the moment when you make the conscious decision to take massive action. This decision is the cornerstone of getting your financial future in order and setting the stage for a life of financial freedom and security. Today, we’ll delve into why taking massive action on your finances is absolutely critical. 1. Overcoming Procrastination Procrastination is the enemy of progress when it comes to your finances. How many times have you thought about creating a budget, paying off debt, or starting an investment portfolio but kept delaying it for another day? Making the decision to take massive action means saying goodbye to procrastination and taking the first step. It’s about acknowledging that there will never be a perfect time to start, so why not begin today? 2. Setting Clear Goals Massive action goes hand in hand with setting clear financial goals. When you decide to take charge of your financial future, you’re also deciding to define what that future looks like. Whether your goals include buying a home, retiring early, or building an emergency fund, taking massive action is the driving force behind achieving those objectives. 3. Learning and Growing Financial education is an ongoing process. By taking massive action, you commit to continuously learning and growing in your financial knowledge. You seek out resources, attend workshops, and read books to expand your financial IQ. This dedication to learning ensures that you make informed decisions, ultimately leading to better financial outcomes. 4. Embracing Discipline Financial success often requires discipline, and taking massive action means embracing this discipline wholeheartedly. You create a budget, stick to it, and resist the urge to splurge on unnecessary expenses. Discipline also means consistently saving and investing, even when it’s tempting to spend that extra money. 5. Harnessing the Power of Compound Interest Lastly, taking massive action allows you to harness the incredible power of compound interest. The earlier you start saving and investing, the more time your money has to grow exponentially. This can significantly impact your long-term financial security, making the decision to take action even more critical. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a fascinating part of our brain that plays a crucial role in helping us reach our goals by filtering and prioritizing information from our surroundings. It acts as a kind of selective attention system, determining what information is relevant and important to us at any given moment. Here’s how the RAS can assist in achieving our goals: Enhancing Focus: The RAS helps us focus on what matters most by filtering out irrelevant information. When you set a clear goal, your RAS becomes attuned to any information or opportunities related to that goal. It’s like giving your brain a specific target to focus on amidst the noise of everyday life. Increased Awareness: Your RAS can heighten your awareness of resources and opportunities that were previously overlooked. For example, if you’re working on a career goal, your RAS may make you more alert to job openings, networking events, or training programs that align with your objectives. Motivation and Goal Alignment: The RAS can influence your motivation and decision-making. When you have a well-defined goal, your brain actively seeks stimuli and experiences that align with that goal. This can provide a continuous source of motivation and drive to take action towards achieving it. Improved Problem Solving: As your RAS focuses on your goals, it can also help you find creative solutions to obstacles or challenges that may arise. When your brain is tuned into a specific objective, it’s more likely to generate ideas and insights that can help you overcome roadblocks. Positive Self-Talk: The RAS can influence your internal dialogue and beliefs about your ability to reach your goals. When you consistently reinforce your objectives and achievements, your self-esteem and confidence can rise, making it easier to stay committed to your goals. Filtering Negative Influences: On the flip side, the RAS can help you filter out negative influences and distractions that could deter you from your goals. By focusing on what’s important, you become less susceptible to being sidetracked by unproductive activities. Improved Memory: The RAS can enhance memory retention for information related to your goals. It prioritizes the storage and retrieval of relevant data, which can be beneficial when learning new skills or acquiring knowledge necessary for achieving your goals. The Reticular Activating System serves as your brain’s personal assistant, helping you stay on track and work towards your goals. By clearly defining your objectives and consistently reinforcing them, you can levera

Money Monday-The Crucial Importance of Regular Financial Discussions in Couples

The Crucial Importance of Regular Financial Discussions in Couples Money, often regarded as the root of many problems in relationships, can also be the key to a happier and healthier partnership when handled with care and open communication. Regular discussions about finances are vital for couples, as they not only promote financial stability but also enhance overall relationship satisfaction. Statistics consistently show that couples who engage in regular financial discussions are happier and more content in their relationships. A survey conducted by Money Magazine found that 70% of couples who reported being happy in their relationships discussed money matters at least once a week, compared to only 50% of those who were unhappy in their relationships. Moreover, a study by the National Marriage Project revealed that couples who talked about money regularly were more likely to report high levels of marital satisfaction. Financial discussions foster transparency and trust between partners. When both individuals are aware of each other’s financial goals, expectations, and concerns, they can work together to achieve their mutual objectives. It prevents misunderstandings and financial secrets that can lead to conflict and strain on the relationship. Furthermore, discussing finances helps couples make informed decisions about their future, whether it’s saving for a home, planning for retirement, or budgeting for family expenses. It allows for joint goal-setting and the alignment of financial priorities, which is essential for long-term financial success. The importance of regular financial discussions in couples cannot be overstated. Open communication about money not only contributes to financial stability but also enhances relationship satisfaction. By sharing their financial dreams and challenges, couples can build trust, make informed decisions, and ultimately strengthen their bond. So, let’s talk about money to build a happier, more secure future together. ——————————————————— Follow me on Social Media Intagram Twitter YouTube FaceBook LinkedIn ———————————————————– Grab a Copy of My Books “The Stone Chiseler” “Push Play: Taking Your Life Off Pause” ——————————————————– Want to Improve always in ALL ways?  Please checkout The Vitruvian Lab, my personal training and coaching site for both live and on-line training for: Health and Longevity Mindset Optimization Behavioral Science Business Mentoring ——————————————————– Thank you for listening to The Jason Wright Show. Authentic Health Friday: The "Master Antioxidant"-Glutathione and Nitric Oxide

Glutathione: The Master Antioxidant Glutathione, often referred to as the “master antioxidant,” is a tripeptide molecule composed of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. It plays a pivotal role in maintaining our body’s overall health and well-being. This small but mighty molecule is synthesized within our cells and is crucial for various biological processes, making it one of the most important molecules for human health. One of glutathione’s primary functions is its role as an antioxidant. Antioxidants are essential for protecting our cells from oxidative damage caused by harmful molecules known as free radicals. These free radicals can result from normal metabolic processes, exposure to environmental toxins, and even stress. Glutathione acts as a powerful scavenger of free radicals, neutralizing them and preventing damage to our cells, proteins, and DNA. This protective function is crucial for reducing the risk of chronic diseases, aging, and the development of various health issues. Glutathione also plays a vital role in detoxification. It helps the body eliminate harmful substances, including heavy metals, drugs, and pollutants, by binding to these toxins and making them easier to excrete. Additionally, glutathione supports the immune system by aiding in the production of white blood cells and promoting their optimal function. Furthermore, glutathione is essential for maintaining proper cell function and integrity. It helps regulate cell growth, repair DNA damage, and ensure healthy mitochondrial function. These cellular processes are critical for overall health and longevity. Nitric Oxide: A Vasodilator with Multifaceted Benefits Nitric oxide (NO) is a gaseous signaling molecule produced by the body that plays a significant role in various physiological processes. One of its most well-known functions is as a vasodilator, meaning it relaxes blood vessels, leading to increased blood flow. This property is essential for regulating blood pressure and ensuring proper oxygen and nutrient delivery to cells and tissues. Beyond its role in cardiovascular health, nitric oxide offers a wide range of benefits. It plays a crucial role in the immune system, helping the body combat infections. It also contributes to cognitive function by enhancing neurotransmitter signaling, promoting memory and learning. Supplementing with both glutathione and nitric oxide can provide substantial health advantages. Glutathione supplementation can help boost the body’s antioxidant defenses and support detoxification processes. Nitric oxide supplements may enhance cardiovascular health, improve exercise performance, and even aid in erectile function. In conclusion, glutathione and nitric oxide are two remarkable molecules with essential roles in maintaining our overall health. While the body produces both naturally, supplementation may be beneficial for individuals looking to optimize their health and well-being, particularly in the areas of antioxidant protection, detoxification, cardiovascular health, and immune function. However, it is essential to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplementation regimen to ensure it is appropriate for your individual needs and circumstances. Term vs. Whole Life Insurance

When considering insurance options, the choice between term life and whole life insurance hinges on distinct priorities. Term life insurance provides coverage for a specified period, offering higher coverage at an affordable premium. It suits those seeking financial protection during peak responsibilities like mortgage and education expenses. However, it lacks a savings component and expires without value after the term. In contrast, whole life insurance offers lifelong coverage alongside a cash value component that grows over time. This cash value can be withdrawn or borrowed against, providing a savings element. Premiums are significantly higher than term life, making it more suitable for those with long-term financial goals and a willingness to invest in consistent coverage. The decision rests on individual circumstances. Term life excels for individuals requiring cost-effective temporary coverage. It’s akin to renting protection. Whole life, on the other hand, is an investment akin to owning property – higher initial costs, but with potential long-term benefits. While whole life builds cash value, its greater premiums might outweigh the benefits for some. In conclusion, term life prioritizes affordability and coverage for specific needs, while whole life emphasizes lifelong protection and potential financial growth. Understanding one’s financial goals and risk tolerance is essential in determining which insurance option aligns best with individual requirements. Authentic Health Friday-Micronutrients: Molecules, Dosing, Supplement Stacks and Protocols for Optimal Health

Title: Exploring Micronutrients: The Building Blocks of Authentic Health Introduction Welcome back to another episode of The Jason Wright Show Authentic Health Friday! I’m your host, Jason Wright, and today we have a fascinating topic to delve into: micronutrients and their pivotal role in maintaining optimal health. Joining us is the renowned Dr. Gus Vickery, an expert in functional medicine. We’ll be uncovering the importance of micronutrients and discussing the major panels for vitamin deficiency that everyone should consider discussing with their physician. Micronutrients: The Unsung Heroes of Health While we often hear about macronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, it’s the lesser-known micronutrients that play a critical role in supporting our overall health and well-being. Micronutrients encompass vitamins and minerals that our bodies require in smaller quantities but are no less important for our bodily functions. These nutrients are like the building blocks that enable our bodies to function optimally, much like pieces of a complex puzzle. The Importance of Micronutrients Micronutrients are involved in a wide range of biological processes, from energy production to immune function. They act as cofactors for enzymes, aiding in chemical reactions necessary for our metabolism. Vitamins, for example, are essential for converting food into energy, supporting the nervous system, and promoting healthy skin. Minerals, on the other hand, are crucial for bone health, muscle function, and maintaining proper fluid balance. Exploring Major Panels for Vitamin Deficiency Now, let’s turn our attention to the key panels for vitamin deficiency that individuals should consider discussing with their healthcare provider. Remember, these panels can provide valuable insights into your overall health and guide necessary interventions. Vitamin D Panel: Vitamin D, often called the “sunshine vitamin,” is vital for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation. Deficiency can lead to weakened bones, fatigue, and a compromised immune system. B-Vitamin Panel: B-vitamins, including B12, B6, and folate, are essential for energy production, brain health, and red blood cell formation. Deficiencies can result in anemia, cognitive issues, and fatigue. Vitamin A Panel: Vitamin A is crucial for vision, immune function, and skin health. A deficiency may lead to night blindness, compromised immune responses, and dry skin. Vitamin C Panel: Vitamin C is an antioxidant that supports the immune system, wound healing, and collagen production. Inadequate levels can lead to a weakened immune system and slow wound healing. Vitamin E Panel: Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells from damage. It also supports skin health and immune function. Deficiency can lead to muscle weakness and impaired immune responses. Mineral Panel: This panel includes minerals like iron, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Iron is essential for oxygen transport, while calcium and magnesium are vital for bone health and muscle function. Zinc supports immune function and wound healing. Deficiencies can result in anemia, bone issues, and immune dysfunction. Discussion with a Physician When considering these panels, it’s essential to consult a healthcare provider, especially if you suspect a deficiency or experience related symptoms. Physicians can interpret the results in the context of your individual health profile and recommend appropriate interventions. Remember, individual needs vary, and blindly supplementing without professional guidance can do more harm than good. Conclusion As we wrap up another episode of The Jason Wright Show Authentic Health Friday, we’ve uncovered the significance of micronutrients in maintaining genuine well-being. These unsung heroes play a vital role in various bodily functions and should not be overlooked. By discussing major panels for vitamin deficiency with a healthcare provider, you’re taking a proactive step toward optimizing your health journey. Remember, authentic health is built on a foundation of balanced nutrition and informed decision-making. Money Monday: Roth or Traditional IRA?

When choosing between a Roth IRA and a Traditional IRA, the decision hinges on your unique financial circumstances and long-term goals. A Roth IRA offers distinct advantages for many investors. With a Roth IRA, contributions are made with after-tax dollars, allowing for tax-free withdrawals in retirement. This feature is particularly valuable if you anticipate being in a higher tax bracket during retirement or if you’re seeking to diversify your tax exposure. Additionally, Roth IRAs have no required minimum distributions (RMDs), offering flexibility in managing withdrawals. The absence of RMDs can be advantageous for legacy planning or those who want to maintain control over their retirement income. In contrast, Traditional IRAs offer tax-deferred contributions, providing an upfront tax break, but withdrawals in retirement are taxed as ordinary income. The choice between Roth and Traditional IRAs depends on factors like current and future tax rates, investment horizon, and financial goals. While both IRAs offer tax-advantaged growth, the tax-free withdrawals and flexibility of Roth IRAs often make them an appealing choice for individuals looking to secure tax-free income during retirement. Money Monday: YES YOU CAN Pay Off Your House! Here's How!

Paying off a 30-year mortgage in 15 years is an ambitious goal, but it’s definitely possible with careful planning, discipline, and the right financial strategy. Here are some steps you can take to achieve this: Refinance to a Shorter Term Loan: If you’re still early into your 30-year mortgage, consider refinancing to a 15-year mortgage. This will likely come with a higher monthly payment, but it will help you pay off the loan faster due to the shorter term and lower interest rates associated with shorter-term loans. Increase Monthly Payments: If you’re unable to refinance or prefer to stick with your current mortgage, you can choose to make higher monthly payments. Calculate what your monthly payment would be if you were on a 15-year mortgage and start paying that amount each month. This will contribute to both principal and interest reduction. Make Extra Payments: In addition to increasing your monthly payments, make extra payments whenever possible. This could be annually, quarterly, or even just whenever you have a windfall of money. Make sure to specify that the extra payment should go towards the principal balance, not the interest. Bi-weekly Payments: Instead of making monthly payments, consider making half of your monthly payment every two weeks. This results in 26 half-payments (equivalent to 13 full payments) each year, which effectively adds an extra payment towards the principal annually. Cut Expenses: Look for ways to reduce your expenses and allocate the savings towards your mortgage payments. This could involve cutting back on non-essential spending or finding ways to save on monthly bills. Use Windfalls Wisely: If you receive unexpected windfalls such as tax refunds, bonuses, or gifts, consider putting a significant portion of that money towards your mortgage principal. Side Hustles or Additional Income: Explore opportunities to increase your income through part-time jobs, freelancing, or other side gigs. Direct the extra income towards your mortgage payments. Avoid Lifestyle Inflation: As your income grows, try to resist the temptation to significantly increase your spending. Instead, allocate the extra income towards paying off your mortgage faster. Consider Making Lump Sum Payments: If you come into a larger sum of money, like an inheritance or a substantial savings, consider using a portion of it to make a lump sum payment towards your mortgage principal. Regularly Monitor Progress: Keep a close eye on your progress by regularly reviewing your mortgage statements and calculating how much time and interest you’re saving by paying off the mortgage early. Remember that paying off a mortgage early requires discipline and careful financial planning. Make sure to check with your mortgage provider to understand any prepayment penalties or terms related to early payment. Before implementing any of these strategies, consider consulting a financial advisor to ensure they align with your overall financial goals and situation. Take The Punishment That Was Threatened To You

“The judge will do some things to you which are thought to be terrifying; but how can he stop you from taking the punishment he threatened?” Epictetus There’s a scene everyone remembers from Braveheart. It’s near the end of the movie, and William Wallace has been captured. He’s imprisoned, and the Princess comes to his cell, begging him to plead for mercy. Wallace knows the brutality of the King and his executioners. He knows his death will be slow and painful. He knows the threat before him. The Princess offers him what seems to be a sedative or some other liquid meant to ease his imminent suffering. Wallace takes the liquid and then, once the Princess has left, spits it out. Eventually, we witness a brutal re-enactment of the execution of William Wallace. Wallace’s body was stretched by horses, and he was disemboweled while still alive and conscious. I can’t even fathom the pain. Wallace was a medieval freedom fighter. He was fighting a rebellion for freedom for his country of Scotland. His last act on this earth was one of freedom. He chose to exercise his freedom to take his punishment fully and completely the way he chose. As a result, his last act of freedom still echoes in the annals of time.
