Dr. Lonnie Randolph, Jr. visits The Context of White Supremacy. Dr. Randolph is a practicing optometrist and the president of the South Carolina chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Dr. Randolph, the local NAACP, current students and alumni have been working to counter the economic terrorism aimed at South Carolina State University. A South Carolina House subcommittee just called for the historically black institution to be closed for two years, and the state Legislative Black Caucus has declared a lack of confidence in SCSU President Thomas Elzey. He was placed on administrative leave this week. While the university faculty and staff may have made errors, it's been reported that powerful Whites have undermined South Carlina State by withholding funds and rewarding "schools for building programs that compete with S.C. State." The Context of White Supremacy hosts the second study session on one of the most popular texts in the world, The Autobiography of Malcolm X: As Told To Alex Haley (1965). This broadcast will air one day before the 50 year anniversary of Minister Malcolm's assassination. With the global focus on police terrorism, the efficacy of marching, the impact of White Jesus/Christianity, government spying, and Muslim-bashing, it seemed timely to get reacquainted with "Detroit Red." Listeners should remain mindful that there are reportedly significant portions of this memoir that have never been released to the public. Rev. Jarrett Maupin visits The Context of White Supremacy. Rev. Maupin is a Phoenix, Arizona resident, an alumnus of Arizona State University, and the youngest person elected to public office in the state's history. Rev. Maupin has invested himself in support of many causes related to the System of Racism. Most recently, he's been a steadfast ally of ASU professor Dr. Ersula Ore; she was thrown to the ground by a White ASU officer (Stewart Ferrin) in the spring of 2014. Dr. Ore has filed a $2 million suit against ASU, the board of regents and officer Ferrin. Rev. Maupin initially called for termination of Ferrin's employment as an ASU officer; however, he and a coalition of interested black females had a luncheon with Ferrin. Renee Huff is a community activist and one of the black females who attended the event. Following this exchange, Rev. Maupin expressed desire for Dr. Ore and Mr. Ferrin to retain their employment with the University. Ashlyn Sullivan visits The Context of White Supremacy. Sullivan is a White Woman, and a student at Butler Community College in Kansas. She ignited pandemonium with her blog post describing how White men catcalled and harassed her while she worked. She eventually brandished a photograph of her black "boyfriend" - sexual partner. The Racist thugs called him a nigger and continued their abuse. Ashlyn Sullivan's rush of attention incited more White Terrorism - Whites made death threats, branded her a nigger lover. Illinois Republican Congressman Aaron Schock's senior adviser, Benjamin Cole, has resigned; Cole was charged with demonstrating his Racism by posting social media commentary comparing black people to animals and cheering "gentrification." A South Carolina high school kicked off Black History Month by addressing a White Terrorist attack on the campus; Race Soldiers wrote, "Happy Nigger Month, KKK" on school property. Shonda Rhimes juggernaut Scandal celebrated the month by having Kerry Washington's character auctioned. Kyle was slaughtered by another White veteran (Eddie Routh) in February of 2013 - at a gun range in the USA; Routh and Kyle are both reported to have enjoyed combat as kids. Massive White invested to plaster Kyle's narrative on the silver screen with a Christmas Day opening; Clint "Dirty Harry" Eastwood directed this potential Academy Award Winner. The film garnered more than $120 million for it's first full weekend in theaters and notched a record for a film released in the month of January. Bill Maher branded Kyle a "psychopath patriot," Texas declared February 2nd "Chris Kyle Day," and a petition is gathering momentum for him to be awarded a Medal Of Honor. Melvin Poole visits The Context of White Supremacy. Mr. Poole is a sixty-five year old black male and a South Carolina resident. He's the former president of the Rock Hill, South Carolina chapter of the NAACP. The New York Times published a robust account of South Carolina's Friendship 9. This group of black people were a part of a local and national sit-in protests of the 1960's. Nine black males were convicted of trespassing and ordered to serve 30 days labor in a county prison (slave) labor camp. Some of the Victims allege these convictions caused them lifelong difficulties and are overdue for being vacated. Whites coordinated an unctuous ceremony to acknowledge one of their acts of terrorism, and this event is a part of a broader White effort "to bestow hometown-hero status on civil rights protesters who were once shunned, jailed or beaten [or killed]." Mr. Poole concluded that Whites are using this occasion to conceal ongoing, 21st century operations of Racism. His family's South African heritage and the end of the so called Apartheid regime have greatly influenced his cinematic work. In 2008 he released Bhambatha: War of the Heads 1906 - it depicts black people actively opposing White Terrorism (Colonialism). A professor of African-American studies at Georgia State University, Dr. Umoja invested decades researching the history of White Supremacy in this area of the world as well as the history of black resistance. We'll discuss his 2014 publication, We Will Shoot Back: Armed Resistance and the Mississippi Freedom Movement. The book details centuries of White Terrorism targeting black people, but quickly inserts the equally long tradition of black people arming themselves and, despite overwhelming odds, striking back against Racist violence. Dr. Umoja's text is an effort to counter the narrative that black southerners were too compliant and passive to subscribe to counter-violence. Importantly, the book details how black females were just as vested in the armed protection of black people as black males. Although, Dr. Umoja's work focuses on black resistance in Mississippi, their resilience was mirrored elsewhere. This is a supremely important bit of scholarship because so many Victims of White Supremacy have been convinced into believing that black people are cowardly chumps, who've never fought back against White savagery. Racist entertainment like the 2012 film Django Unchained helps re-enforce this lie. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Kitimbwa Sabuni live from Sweden. Mr. Sabuni is a black male and secretary general of the National Afro-Swedish Association (Afrosvensarnas Riksförbund, ASR). Mr. Sabuni speaks publicly on a regular basis to address issues impacting black and non-white Swedish residents. Mr. Sabuni was recently featured on Al Jazeera’s The Stream to discuss current proposal to remove the term “race” from all Swedish legislation. Phillip Andrew Morton visits The Context of White Supremacy. Mr. Morton is 35-year-old White Man and St. Louis, Missouri native. He's a filmmaker by trade and has collaborated with Hollywood stars Regina King and Kat Williams and contributed to the 2012 feature Battleship. Mr. Morton produced, directed and edited the 2014 documentary, Spanish Lake. The movie explores the Racist White Flight from the St. Louis suburb of Spanish Lake. The White filmmakers correctly attribute the stark demographic shift to White Supremacy (Racism). Gus began hearing about this film in June of 2014 - about two months before Michael Brown, Jr. was killed. The planet gazed as Ferguson become a war zone over the last month - tanks and tear gas.
