Ep 2134JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI - MAYOR LUMUMBA CLAIMS BEING PURSUED BY FBI IS NOT ANYTHING FOREIGN TO HIM

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba used his most recent episode of “Ask Antar” to thank supporters and reassure residents the city of Jackson is moving forward even as he faces multiple corruption charges. In October, a federal grand jury indicted Lumumba, Ward Six Councilman Aaron Banks, and Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens in connection with a bribery scheme to bring a convention center hotel to downtown Jackson. The comments mark only the second time the mayor has discussed the indictment since it was unsealed on November 7. “People have been keeping me lifted up... sending me daily text messages, prayers, Scriptures, lifting up my family, not only in Jackson but around the country,” he said. “These are the moments that you’re taught who really are your friends and who support you, and I’ve been grateful for that support.” Lumumba, dressed in a gray sweater and a black button-up shirt, reiterated statements he made outside of the Thad Cochran Federal Courthouse last month, that he was going to continue to fight the charges and work for residents. “I don’t want anyone to be fearful for that,” he said. “I’m going to move around. I’m not going to walk around as if I’m guilty of something I am not.” He pointed to the fact that after his arraignment, he went to Tampa, Florida, for the National League of Cities Centennial Summit “to seek solutions for the city” and to “appear for multiple speaking engagements.” “[I want] our residents to know that, as I’ve said, ‘I’m not only innocent, but I’m going to fight those charges and I’ll let my attorneys handle that,’” he said. “I owe them a responsibility, and so I’m going to make certain I maintain and adhere to that responsibility.” “We’re still working, we’re still meeting, we’re still seeking solutions to the problems that face Jackson residents every day... I’m grateful to have a team around me that can focus in.” Lumumba is charged with conspiracy, federal program bribery, the use of an interstate facility in aid of racketeering, honest services wire fraud, and money laundering after he allegedly accepted $50,000 in bribes to benefit developers wanting to bring a convention center hotel to Jackson. The developers, who claimed to be with Facility Solutions Team out of Hendersonville, Tennessee, turned out to be confidential human sources with the FBI. The mayor told Director of Communications Melissa Faith Payne during the roughly 30-minute episode that this was not the first time he’s been investigated by the agency, and that he’s dealt with the FBI “my entire life.” “We were often surveilled. To this day, I actually have FOIA documents to demonstrate that... I’ve seen my high school pictures in FBI documents, [pictures from] my mother’s funeral in FBI documents, details on my parents’ relationship in FBI documents,” he said. “Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon to me... It’s not something I want for my children. I really have to question what family, or anybody, would justify that level of scrutiny, that level of investment, to follow a family that long,” he continued. “It is not something that is foreign territory to me.” Lumumba is in his second term as Jackson’s mayor. He was first elected in 2017 and re-elected by a landslide in 2021. He is the son of the late Nubia and Chokwe Lumumba, a civil rights attorney and activist who died in 2014, about eight months into his first and only term in office.

Ep 2133JAY-Z RAPE ALLEGATIONS, MICHAEL GUEST SIDES WITH BENNIE THOMPSON ON TIKTOK BAN (Ep #885)

Topics for This Episode: 1- RAP SHEET: Jay-Z has been accused of raping a minor at an MTV VMAs after-party in 2000, with Sean "Diddy" Combs allegedly present. Jay-Z has denied these allegations and accused a lawyer of blackmail. 2- I stumble into a funny story about a time we almost got into a fight at a mexican restaurant with a guy that got offended at us cussing and acting up while at the same time he brought his kid to sit in the bar / smoking section so he could smoke 3- TikTok Ban: The Supreme Court has upheld the ban on TikTok, pushed by Representative Michael Guest and other Mississippi congressmen, including Bennie Thompson. I personally hold my representatives accountable for this decision, which I believe could push many American content creators and TikTok shop operators into unemployment due to unfounded fears about data privacy. Meanwhile, there's little action against other tech giants who have been selling our data to China for years. This Past Weekend: I spent the weekend at the Brandon On Ice winter market, where I had the pleasure of meeting many great supporters of Mississippi's #1 morning talk show, also known as the most incendiary show on radio or online in the country.

Ep 2120BREAKING- Trump reportedly plans to kick trans troops out of the military on inauguration day!!

Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order that would remove transgender service members from the military as soon as his first day in office. The president-elect is reportedly preparing to issue an order following his inauguration on January 20 that would effectively ban trans people serving in the military — and then medically discharge the thousands of currently serving trans service members in the armed forces. In his first term in office, Trump declared that the US would no longer “accept or allow” trans people in the military, citing “tremendous medical costs and disruption,” he tweeted in 2017. The ban took effect in 2019. President Joe Biden reversed that policy, which was the subject of several lawsuits. Now, Trump is expected to immediately rescind Biden’s order and go further by ejecting currently-serving trans troops, according to The Times, citing sources familiar with the president-elect’s plans. The executive action is among a stack of orders the president-elect is planning to issue as soon as he re-enters the White House, including sweeping actions on immigration, all of which are expected to draw significant legal battles. “These unnamed sources are speculating and have no idea what they are actually talking about. No decisions on this issue have been made,” Trump transition spokesperson and incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement shared with The Independent. “No policy should ever be deemed official unless it comes directly from President Trump or his authorized spokespeople.” Throughout his campaign, which joined Republican groups in spending tens of millions of dollars on anti-trans attack ads targeting people who make up less than 1 per cent of the nation’s population, Trump pledged to revoke vital civil rights protections for LGBT+ people and block trans students from playing sports or using bathrooms that align with their gender identities. He also intends to ban gender-affirming healthcare for trans youth nationwide. Republicans have filed hundreds of state-level anti-trans bills, and within days after the 2024 elections, GOP members of Congress have spent hours vilifying and misgendering trans people, including the first-ever trans member of Congress, while pushing new legislation to block trans people from bathrooms across the country. The Republican Party’s 2024 platform lists “Keep Men Out of Women Sports” among its most important priorities. Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Defense, who will be in charge of 3 million service members and civilian staff around the world, supported Trump’s previous ban on trans service members, and has baselessly asserted that trans people are “not deployable” and cause “complications.” There are roughly 15,000 trans people serving in the nation’s armed forces at a time when branches are suffering from recruitment shortfalls. “These people will be forced out at a time when the military can’t recruit enough people,” a source familiar with Trump’s plans told The Times. Banning trans people from the military “would undermine the readiness of the military and create an even greater recruitment and retention crisis, not to mention signaling vulnerability to America’s adversaries,” Rachel Branaman, executive director of Modern Military Association of America, said. “Abruptly discharging 15,000-plus service members, especially given that the military’s recruiting targets fell short by 41,000 recruits last year, adds administrative burdens to warfighting units, harms unit cohesion, and aggravates critical skill gaps,” she said. “There would be a significant financial cost, as well as a loss of experience and leadership that will take possibly 20 years and billions of dollars to replace.” Paulo Batista, a transgender analyst in the Navy, said that a ban would have a ripple effect through the armed services. “You take 15,000 of us out — there’s more but that’s the number that is always mentioned — that’s 15,000 leadership positions, every one of us play a vital role,” he said.

Ep 2116THURSDAY'S FULL SHOW (Ep #875)

1- I went back and listened to my first podcast / radio show ever otw to the station this morning and it got me to thinking about how far I've come and how the show has grown into what it is now. It reminded me that I needed to always look for ways to get the audience younger so we don't age out either. I tell a story about listening to a podcast over the weekend with Kelly Earnhardt (Dale Jr's sister and business partner) interviewing the guy who was in charge of sports marketing for Budweiser back in the late 90's / early 2000's when they signed Dale Jr. and he explains how the brand had to get younger to stay relevant, that really resonated with me this week as I look for ways to do that same thing. 2. I will have to go back and listen to the show and update the descriptions later because we hit a lot of flowing topics and I don't recall which order. I'll update as I'm clipping up the video for the shorter clips.

Ep 2113DID JPD FINALLY ARREST THE METROCENTER AYRAN BROTHERHOOD COPPER THIEVES?

Four white people have been arrested in Jackson, Mississippi while breaking into the Metrocenter mall in what looks to be an attempt to steal copper. We take a look back to a story from WLBT on Sept. 30th that claimed the current Metrocenter resident (a movie studio) claimed that Ayran Brotherhood gang members were stealing copper and transporting it to Houston for Mexican drug cartels. I initially called BS on this story, but now I'm questioning my original assumption. Below is the current story from WLBT JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Four people were arrested by the Jackson Police Department for Business Burglary among other crimes. Jackson Police Department Precinct Two Units responded to 3645 Metro Center Drive regarding a burglary in progress Thursday. Upon receiving a description of the suspects and the suspect’s vehicle, officers were able to apprehend them on the top-level loading dock. Suspects forced their way into the building on the lower level of Burlington Department Store. The vehicle used in the crime was a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado truck with a switch tag. Located inside the vehicle were guns, burglary tools, and copper wire. Four suspects were taken into custody and transported to police headquarters to be interviewed. According to JPD, after the interview, the four suspects were booked into the jail on the following charges:

Ep 2112TWO JPD OFFICERS PASS BY DEADLY WRECK WITHOUT STOPPING

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Two Jackson Police officers passed the scene of a deadly crash shortly after it occurred over the weekend and did not render aid, the police chief says. At 5 a.m. Saturday, Jackson Police Department Precinct 1 officers responded to the crash at Cooper Road and Suncrest Drive. A red Cadillac SUV was traveling south on Suncrest Drive when it left the road, crashed into a tree at the corner of Suncrest Drive and Cooper Road, and caught fire. According to JPD, the vehicle’s driver, Tina Carter Sawyer, 35, died during the accident. But, according to Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade, two Jackson Police Precinct 1 officers passed the scene of the accident “shortly” after it happened but did not stop or render aid. Wade says he questions the officers’ actions, “but, more importantly, their inactions during this situation.” Following a JPD Internal Affairs investigation, the officers were placed on administrative leave for questionable action and inaction. According to JPD, the case will be turned over to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations, and the findings will be handed over to the Mississippi Attorney Generals' Office.

Ep 2105BLACK FOLKS REACTION TO HINDS CO. GOON SQUAD INDICTMENTS W/ ANGELA BUCKNER (Ep #869)

Join us on today's episode we delve into the murky waters of Jackson, Mississippi's political landscape, where the "Hinds County Goon Squad" - comprising Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, Hinds County D.A. Jody Owens, and City Council President Aaron Banks - find themselves embroiled in a scandal that reads like a plot from a political noir. Charged with a staggering 15 felonies related to the convention center hotel development project, this story has all the ingredients for a blockbuster political drama. We're thrilled to have Angela Buckner, Senior Editor at the Mic Magazine, joining us. Angela, a black Democrat female journalist known for her incisive commentary, will share her insights on how this scandal reflects broader issues within local governance, the implications for Jackson's political future, and the community's response. Hosting this potentially explosive conversation is none other than our very own loud-mouthed, white conservative, Trump-supporting radio host, [Your Name], who promises to bring his unfiltered opinions to the table. Together, they'll explore whether there's any common ground to be found amidst the political divide, or if the only thing they agree on is the need for some stronger coffee. Expect a robust discussion on: The details of the bribery charges and the convention center project. The political fallout and what it means for Jackson's administration. The role of race, party politics, and ethics in local government. The impact of such scandals on community trust in public officials. And, just maybe, a moment where both sides might find themselves nodding in agreement. Tune in for a conversation that might not save democracy, but could at least shed some light on why these three officials now wish they had taken up knitting instead. Will they find common ground, or will this be another episode of political ping-pong? Grab your popcorn and join the discussion!

This is our last chance to save America from the Democrats and Deep State RINO Republicans. 2- We give out not one but two local FAFO championships in Rankin county yesterday 3- Donald Trump took advantage of Joe Biden calling all of his supporters "Garbage" and did a press conf. from inside a garbage truck yesterday, which is even funnier because CNN broke into with live BREAKING NEWS coverage while they were in the middle of a Wolf Blitzer round table discussing the election. 4. The Harris campaign is manipulating Trumps speeches and are getting busted by X in a move that could get them removed from the platform for violating the terms of service. We play the edited and original audio and let you decide what Trump actually said.

Ep 2097JOE BIDEN CALLS HALF OF AMERICA GARBAGE W/ SHAUN YURTKURAN (Ep #860)

1- Joe Biden calls all Trump supporters garbage in what could be biggest election blunder since Hillary Clintons "basket of deporables" comment. Shaun and I discuss this from every imaginable angle. 2- We get into a pretty deep conversation about Shaun's normalcy bias and his natural disposition not to believe "conspiracy theories" which takes us down a rabbit hole about what an actual "conspiracy theory" even is and how we're all conspiracy theorist in one way or another. 3- Some GPS data has come out about who was in attendance at last nights KKKamala Harris rally in Washington D.C. at the same location of a 1924 that shows nearly 6,200 of the nearly 32,000 attendees had also attended 3 or more ANTIFA / BLM / PRO-PALESTINE protest / riots in the last 12 months. Also, nearly 18,000 of the attendees were from Atlanta and California, makes me believe these are paid attendees. 4- We get into a deep conversation about which candidate has the ability to draw people onto their side from left of and right of center based on policy. This is difficult to explain in a description but made for a great conversation.

Ep 2096TUESDAY - FULL SHOW (Ep #859)

1- Is Chokwe Lumumba begging for the citizens of Jackson to vote for Kamala Harris because he's efforting a potential pardon for his alleged involvement in the convention center hotel bribery case? 2-Kamala Harris went on Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay" podcast and made a complete ass of herself by saying Trump was going to abolish the constitution and that she loved guns and the 2nd amendment. With a simple search on X we find video of her contradicting herself and in fact saying that she will sign an executive order to confiscate guns. 3- We peel back the onion on the Democrat propaganda that Trump is a racist and his rallies have any similarities to Nazi rallies. 4- Another failed "black excellence" project in Jackson leads to Kenneth Stokes demanding the former golf world property be cleaned up and it reminds me that this whole story sounds very familiar. We jump on the Delorean and go back to Nov. 5th 2020 and play the news story about this very location being converted into a drive-in move theater and Go-Kart track by "black investors from New Orleans"

Ep 2095BLACK OWNED DRIVE-IN THEATER AND MINI-GOLF PROJECT FAILS: STOKES URGES IMMEDIATE SITE CLEANUP

Four years ago, a project in Jackson, Mississippi, was celebrated as a beacon of Black excellence. It was meant to transform the old Golf World site in North Jackson into a thriving Black-owned drive-in movie theater and mini-golf youth complex. Unfortunately, this ambitious venture has yet to come to fruition. Today, the site remains abandoned, serving inadvertently as a dumping ground for the city's waste.

1- Matt Bishop, host of the Full Story here on WYAB joins me for the first few segments this morning to discuss the potential of Trump winning the popular vote but losing the electoral vote (or if that's even a possibility). We also dive into Trump speaking on Joe Rogan about polls being rigged, fake and bought and paid for. 2- I spend the rest of the show taking calls, reading text and playing clips from Trump's appearance on Joe Rogan, his rally at Madison Square Garden last night and more. 3- There's been a rumor going around the internet that Kamala Harris is strung out on Cocaine and I believe I have found the video evidence that this could in fact be true.

Ep 2091FAFO FRIDAY W/ SHAUN YURTKURAN - OLD TV SHOWS, MENENDEZ BROTHERS, JXN DRAMA & MORE (Ep #857)

We open up the show with a sad story about me running over a black cat on hey 49 on the way to the radio station this morning, this some how led to us discussing old TV Land style television shows for the first 20 minutes of the show. We then pivoted to discussing the Menendez Brothers potentially getting released from prison after new evidence suggest that they were sexually abused by their father and that is what led them to killing their parents back in 1989. They have been in prison for 34 years!! We ended up discussing term limits in Mississippi after I mentioned that I voted for Jennifer Branning for supreme court justice and one of the main reasons why is it's time to retire some of these old, lifelong politicians like Jim Kitchens. We have a major update on the potential indictments dropping on Chokwe Antar Lumumba, Jody Owens & Aaron Banks over the convention center hotel drama. We closed out the show discussing Kamala Harris's disaster of a town hall on CNN

Ep 2090DAVID L. ARCHIE - ‘It’s a big mess’: Two local leaders raise concerns about Jackson parking meters

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A former Hinds County supervisor and a community activist from Bolton are calling on the city to end its contract with a private company now handling parking meters in downtown Jackson. On Tuesday, David Archie and Addie Green appeared before the city council, where they decried the parking kiosks, saying senior citizens don’t know how to use them, and they’re not easily accessible for those with disabilities. “Jackson, Mississippi, is in a state of emergency. We have all kinds of issues and all kinds of problems, but this is one problem that we can solve right away, by removing those meters, rescinding the contract with this company,” Archie said. Archie said the city should look for other ways to increase revenue, rather than using the new meters. He also contends Jackson is breaking the law by charging too much for parking violations. He referenced one court case from California backing up his point. “If you need money, go to Washington, D.C., go to the State House. Beg, plead, ask for money to run this capital city, but don’t put the burden on the people that are coming downtown trying to do business,” he said. “Jackson is not ready for that.” Currently, someone ticketed in downtown Jackson will receive an initial fine of $24.50. If the amount is not paid within 30 days, it will increase to $44.50. The fine includes an administrative fee of $3.50. “You have the right to charge a certain amount for the ticket, but when you get into a $24 ticket, and then you don’t pay in [a] certain [number of] days, you raise it to $44.50, they call that something excessive,” he said. The comments are the latest in a string of concerns raised by residents regarding the new parking kiosks, which were installed a part of a contract with SP Plus Corporation. The council approved entering into a contract with SP in 2023 to install the state-of-the-art kiosks throughout the downtown area. Under terms of that agreement, SP receives a $94,500 management fee, along with a two percent “incentive fee” from each parking fine collected. The kiosks, impact about 850 spaces, and give residents the ability to pay using their phones, credit cards, or cash. They were initially expected to generate about $2.2 million a year in new revenue. Jackson Director of Communications Melissa Faith Payne was unsure how much the meters had brought in as of Thursday. WLBT has since filed an open record request for that information. As far as Green’s and Archie’s concerns, Payne said the city takes all comments under advisement. She said the meters are more convenient because they offer residents multiple options to pay, including with credit cards, coins, or online. Green, a community activist from Bolton, told the council that many senior citizens don’t know how to use the devices. She also says that the kiosks are not located close enough for drivers with disabilities. “People come to town trying to buy tags, pay their taxes, and many times there is no meter for the handicapped to go to right there [where they] park,” she said. “They have to go down the street to [enter] their registration.” Unlike the previous meters, which were located at each parking space, each zone has a kiosk, and drivers often have to walk to find one if they’re paying in cash or by credit card. Residents also can pay via their smart phones, by texting a code to the number listed on a sign. Customers then receive an automatic reply with a link directing them to the website to pay. It costs a dollar an hour to park. Green and Archie said they also don’t like the fact that they can’t get in touch with anyone if a ticket is given. “You can’t call anyone that will answer the telephone,” Green said. “It’s a big mess.” Fines can be paid online, via an address provided on the ticket. They also can be mailed in to Park Jackson, on Fortification Drive East.

Ep 2089CLAY'S UNHINGED RANT ABOUT THE REPUBLICANS FOR KAMALA CLOWNS

During hour #2 I breakdown how you can not be a "Republican for Kamala Harris", it's like trying to be a gay that claims he's not gay because he still likes girls too. I also get on a rant about Democrats pretending to be upset about Trump's McDonalds stunt being a political stunt. I got out and absentee voted yesterday because I will be out of town working 24 straight hours on election day, I announced that I did not vote for Roger Wicker or Michael Guest and explain exactly why I wrote in other peoples names.
