Speedy Sunday Episode: Lighting the Way for Female Athletes

Speedy Sunday Episode: Lighting the Way for Female Athletes In today’s Speedy Sunday episode, we dive into a powerful story about competition and teamwork—especially for young female athletes. It's time to reframe the narrative that success means knocking each other down to win.  Kate Mccauley shares the Candle Story: Picture this—a room full of candles, each with the potential to shine bright. One candle alone lights up its space, but when it shares its flame, every candle in the room starts to glow. The light spreads, and the room is illuminated even brighter than before. The message? You don’t have to blow out someone else’s candle to make yours shine! Instead, use your candle to light the way for others. This is the key to true success in sports, life, and beyond. We need to teach our young female athletes that lifting each other up is the real win. Helping a teammate excel, sharing your strengths, and building a culture of support on and off the field is what creates lasting champions. Encourage the young women in your life to stop competing against each other and instead focus on using their strengths to raise up the whole team. Imagine what they can accomplish when they all shine together!
