Dale Rancourt is a former children’s entertainer and registered sex offender who is known widely as the disgraced ‘Klutzy the Clown’, In this episode his victim , who we will refer to as Jane Doe, will tell their story publicly for the first time. Dale Rancourt is a former children’s entertainer and registered sex offender who is known widely as the disgraced ‘Klutzy the Clown’, As you heard in my prior episode while researching Rancourt's life and crime I referenced a documentary film (Big Shoes) about him, produced several years before his arrest. As you may have expected, the film really didn't age well and not because of any creative of technical decisions Michael or Adrienne made but because it leaves out the topic that dominates any discussion about Dale Klutzy the Clown Rancourt.. the sexual offences against a child that occurred in the years after the films release. After watching the film I was interested to hear how the filmmakers have dealt with such a spoiled creation and that’s exactly what we will get into in this episode. In this episode of Nighttime we will be joined by Michael Fraiman and Adrian Lee and our topic is the disturbing story of Dale ' Klutzy ' Rancourt... and their documentary that really didn't age well. For a period spanning a little more than a decade you would have been hard pressed to find a Cape Bretoner unfamiliar with Dale Rancourt and his character Klutzy the Clown. He was both a children and adult entertainer bouncing his way between birthday party's, old folks homes, and public events being a not an especially good performer. He certainly wasn't universally respected, but somehow he managed to find a place for Klutzy the clown in Cape Breton's entertainment economy, but it's all gone now. Dale 'Klutzy the clown' Rancourt broke a few of the most rules society places on those we allow near our children. Over the course of a multi part series, I'll be unpacking the disturbing story of the disgraced Dale ‘Klutzy the Clown’ Rancourt. Andrew's story, and his sister Nicole's advocacy for him have been pulled into the headlines several times since her last appearance on Nighttime. Her families battle for accountability took a big step forward, as a lawsuit against the provincial government has been announced but also, the battle got ugly. An encounter at a dog park between Nicole, and Ian Rankin, the ex premier of Nova Scotia, became of interest to both the local news outlets and the RCMP. In this episode of nighttime, we will again be joined by Nicole Gnazdowsky to discuss the quest for accountability related to the death of her brother Andrew. London, Ontario - Oct 13, 1983 17-year-old Donna-Jean Awcock was babysitting a neighbour's child in the apartment building next door to where she lived… Something she did regularly. When the child's mother returned home, in the early morning hours, she asked Donna run across the street to a convenience store before she left. This visit to the store which was only a stones throw away from her home is the last time Donna was seen alive. A gruesome discovery at a riverbank in the days later would explain what happened to her... but not who was responsible. The murder has remained unsolved for nearly 40 years, but not due to lack of trying. Donna's old sister Tammy has made it her life's mission to bring the person or persons responsible for Donna's death to justice. In this episode of Nighttime, I'll be joined by Tammy Dennett, to discuss the still unsolved murder of her little sister Donna-Jean Awcock Episode Links: Justice for Donna Awcock facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/164821050218358 Credits: Musical Theme - Noir Tokyo by Monty Datta Provide feedback and comments on the episode: nighttimepodcast.com/contact Nighttime Links: Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/nighttimepodcast Website: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/NightTimePod Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NightTimePod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nighttimepod Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/nighttimepod Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/Nighttimepodcast Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode Chris Rutkowski and I discuss one of Canada's many UFO secrets. This isn't one of those secrets anyone is trying to keep though... I'm sure the town of St. Paul, Alberta would love to have the world find out about their unique contribution to Canada's UFO history. Many Canada's may be unaware that back in 1967, the mayor of St. Paul Alberta decided to have the world's first UFO landing pad built and the monolithic concrete structure still stands today... waiting to it's first arrival. Shortly after the release of the prior episode in this series I connected with someone very close to this story and they offered to reveal some startling new details that will shed even more light on what may have happened to Emily Bailey. Brandon is the father of one of Emily's daughters. You've heard him mentioned in past episodes as he was the person responsible for reporting her missing to Hamilton Police. As you will learn from our conversation, Brandon was in regular contact with her leading up to her disappearance and some of the information she shared with him led to Brandon showing up at the door of Jeff's house in the days after the missing person report was filed. In this episode of Nighttime, I'll be joined by Brandon Hunter for a discussion surrounding the disappearance of his close friend and the mother of his child, Emily Bailey. Then 26 year old civil engineer Andrew Gnazdowsky and a co-worker were on site completing a survey of a Nova Scotia Power dam near Sheet Harbour in October of 2020. When a technology failure disrupted their work, Andrew made the fateful decision to enter the water and collect a piece of equipment. Moments later, Andrew would yell for help before ultimately disappearing below the still water. In the year since Andrew's tragic death, the Gnazdowsky's have been steadfast in their belief that the investigation into Andrew's death has been flawed at best, completely compromised at worst, and it's not just a hunch that tells them that. Nearly every step of the way it seems that Andrew's number one advocate, his sister Nicole Gnazdowsky, has been uncovering the kind of details that make a public inquiry a logical outcome. Conflicts of interest, erroneous death records, the scrubbing online records, bureaucratic flip flopping, and opportunistic politicians... This story has all of it. Nova Scotia, April 18-19, 2020 Over a period of thirteen hours 51 year old denturist Gabriel Wortman, dressed as a police officer and driving a replica police car, carried out Canada’s most deadly act of mass murder. In this ongoing series Nighttime will explore the many elements of this tragic story. What happened, why it happened, and what could have been done to stop him. In this episode, I avoid the many rabbit holes and contested facts to present an abridged telling of the “official” version of the Nova Scotia Mass Shooting. Unexpectedly, but not completely surprisingly, I received an email from a very excited lady from Quebec who claimed to have filmed some odd objects hovering in the sky near her home. She didn’t believe they planes or helicopters… Belia was convinced she witnessed something very unique and she wanted my opinion on the footage she captured. The video (which I’ve since enhanced and added to the Nighttime YouTube Channel) shows several bright, slow moving objects, travelling above the Ottawa river. It stumped me right off the bat and that doesn’t usually happen. Perhaps that’s why I wanted to figure this one out and I’m gonna take you along for the journey. We are going to start by meeting Belia, the very excited lady who filmed the objects behind her home and then we will take the video, and her eye witness account to Celebrated Canadian UFO researcher Chris Rutkowski for an expert analysis. In this episode of nighttime, I’m going to be considering the Nov 20th UFO sighting above Luskville, Quebec Links: Watch Belia’s Video: https://youtu.be/0xf9z6XWGGg Join the UFOs Above Canada Discussion Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ufosabovecanada Report a Canadian UFO Sighting: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com/report-a-canadian-ufo-sighting Credits: Musical Theme - Noir Tokyo by Monty Datta Provide feedback and comments on the episode: nighttimepodcast.com/contact Nighttime Links: Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/nighttimepodcast Website: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/NightTimePod Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NightTimePod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nighttimepod Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/nighttimepod Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/Nighttimepodcast Learn more about your ad choices. 11 year old Geraldine Settee was last seen leaving her home with some change in her pocket and a craving for a snack from a neighbourhood drug store a short, safe, walk away. When Geraldine didn't return within the expected time, her father grew worried and worry turned to panic when he learned the drugstore wasn't even open that evening. Where is Geraldine? A gruesome discovery the next morning would answer that question, create many more, and forever change the Settee family. Nothing brings life to the Halloween spirit like a good ghost story, and no one tells a ghost story like Steve Vernon. Longtime listeners will know Steve well. He's a favorite author of mine and has joined us several times in the past to share his unique style of storytelling. Just a few nights back, Steve and I ventured into one of Halifax's many forests for a night of storytelling. I brought my microphone, and Steve brought a flashlight and a book of his stories. Incels are the online community, made up predominantly of men, who define their identity in the fact that they are involuntarily celibate. the Incel subculture, as regular listeners of Nighttime know, doesn't just wallow in misogynism, self pity, and entitlement in the internet’s dark corners.. Some self identifing Incels have seen their inability to get laid as justification to commit horrific acts of mass murder... It's a twisted, dark, and very troubling community, but it's also fascinating and I think it's worth exploring. To help guide us along the way, I invited a colleague from the world of podcasting to join me. In this episode we are going to explore the strange and dark world of the self described INCELS (involuntary celibate). In the early morning hours of July 25, 2018 a 911 call was made in Brome Lake, Qc. The caller, Riley Fairholm, reported a man in distress, carrying a handgun, and shouting to himself. When the police arrived on the scene it took only 61 seconds before a responding officer shot the young man holding the gun dead. In a confusing turn, the caller was the man with the gun. The events that led up to and followed that police interaction have received much more than 61 seconds of consideration. It started with a post to the UFOs Above Canada discussion group on facebook… “I'm wondering if there are any people living in Kingston, Ontario. Since December 3, 2020 we have been taking pictures of crafts over our house. Up to 22 craft at once. I also have pics of craft with hatches open and small orbs flying out of them. We are 2 older people who were not looking for this experience, it came to us. I am not technically savvy and need a person to help us to identify, examine and file these pictures. If there is anybody in this group who can help we would really appreciate it.” Shortly after posting, Candice and “Onagottay” appeared on Nighttime to discuss their serial encounters with unexplained aerial objects. Now, six months later, their story has twisted and distorted into something much more disturbing. It’s a story of lies, betrayal, cultural appropriation, a shooting death in Belize, the Ashcroft family, and UFOs. In this episode, Candice will give us an update on her story of lies, betrayal, billionaires, and UFOs. On May 6, 2020 three year old Dylan Ehler was visiting his grandmother’s home in Truro, NS. While playing in the back yard, his grandmother turned her back to Dylan briefly to leash a dog. At some point during that moment of inattention, Dylan vanished. Despite nearly a year of searching, the only evidence located was Dylan’s two rubber boots, both found caught amongst debris in shallow brook that flows a short distance from where he was last seen. In a prior episode, Dylan’s father Jason Ehler joined us and shared the story of his missing son, including his thoughts on the level of care Dorothy provided Dylan prior to his disappearance. That discussion with Jason made me realize that Dorothy's story is crucial in understanding what may have happened to the three year old boy at the center of this story. Up until now Dorothy has largely remained silent, allowing others to tell her story. But that will change with this episode. Our guest is the last person to see Dylan prior to his disappearance, his grandmother Dorothy Parsons and she will share her memories of Dylan’s last known day. On May 6, 2020, three-year-old Dylan Ehler vanished while playing in his grandmother’s backyard in Truro, Nova Scotia His grandmother claims she had briefly turned away to leash a dog, and in that fleeting moment, Dylan disappeared. A massive search followed, but the only trace ever found were his two rubber boots—discovered caught in debris in a shallow brook not far from the property. With little progress in finding Dylan, the case has taken on a life of its own online. Fueled by speculation and emotion, it has become a magnet for conspiracy theories, unrelenting armchair detectives, disturbing ransom hoaxes, and a cyberbullying case that ended up before the courts. In this series, we explore all of it—from the facts of Dylan’s disappearance to the chaos that followed. In part one, we are going to be joined by Dylan's father, Jason Ehler, and our topic is his missing son, three year old Dylan Ehler. When scrolling through the news over my morning coffee, I found myself face to face with what can only be described as the most controversial garden in St. Catharines, Ontario. When Christina and Matt designed their garden, they started by purchasing two large wooden coffins, placing them in their yard and filling them with soil. As it turned out their neighbours didn't share the same taste. A complaint to by law enforcement would begin the most interesting garden or bylaw enforcement story the town of St. Catharines Ontario has ever seen. Tonight, in this episode of Nighttime, we are going to be joined by the homeowners, turned gothic freedom fighters, Christina and Matt... and our topic is the most controversial garden in St. Catharines Ontario. This story is going to take us to an alleyway in Surrey, BC. On an otherwise uneventful night, in August of 2017, something horrible happened there. Despite the passage of time and tremendous efforts we still don't know what happened exactly, but when the dust settled 19 year old Tanner Krupa was dead. Tanner had only been in Surrey for a handful of days, there for a short work trip. Just a 19 year old who stepped out to grab something at a near by convenience store and somehow ends up dead in an alleyway hours later. The only evidence left behind is images on a nearby security camera showing two white vehicles fleeing the scene. The vehicles, nor their occupants, have yet to be identified. In the past Nighttime has spent a considerable amount of time discussing the stories of strange lights in our skies. We may get to some of them tonight as well but rather than focusing on the lights in the sky, in this episode, we are going to consider what happens when the damn things crash to the ground. In this episode of Nighttime, Canadian UFO researcher Chris Rutkowski and I discuss Canada’s history with UFO crashes and review some recent UFO reports submitted via the UFOs Above Canada Facebook group. Listeners of Nighttime, consider this episode a sort of public service. This episode has the power to ease the minds of many people out there who feel they have witnessed a fleet of alien invaders in the skies above Canada. The story usually manifests itself in one of two ways; it's either a photo showing a series of aerial lights in a straight line, or a witness account from someone who saw a series of objects flying one after the other in a sort of liner formation. Well, if you see this type of photo or hear this story don’t immediately rush to your emergency shelter. ELON MUSK, the billionaire inventor and entrepreneur may very well be behind in. In fact, Elon musk may be partly responsible for the rise in Canadian UFO reports. In this episode of Nighttime, Canadian UFO researcher and data analyst Chris Rutkowski will tell us about Elon Musk’s Starlink Satellite Constellation and what role it plays in the rise in UFO reports. Amanda Todd was still a child when she began to share her love of singing with viewers around the world on Youtube. Perhaps she was hopeful that she would be discovered like Justin Bieber, another Canadian youtuber, recently had. Like Justin, Amanda too found a sort of fame as a result of sharing her talents. Tragically, Amanda is known around the world not for her voice or her charm but as a cautionary tale about the evils that lurk all around us. As we know now, one of the people who was moved by Amanda's performances managed to sneak into her personal life, and infiltrate her inner circle. When Amanda shared an intimate photo, the anonymous predator would begin an odyssey of sextortion, harassment, and cyber stalking that would end in Amanda's death. Since taking her own life, over 50 million people have heard Amanda's story, largely as a result of a viral video she made shortly before her death. In the video, shot on a webcam in black and white, Amanda shares the her story by flipping through a series of index cards as she visibly sobs. Tonight, in this episode of Nighttime, we are going to hear Amanda's story by someone who has stood by Amanda through it, and still to this day carries on her search for justice, and continues her legacy. Our guest is Amanda Todd's mother, and well known internet safety and mental health advocate, Carol Todd. In the last episode, my guest Ian Rogers spoke both about his experiences investigating the Guardian case as well as the route this story took to being featured on a major CBC Documentary ‘UFO Town’. When I was putting that episode together I learned that my friend, and past guest of the show, Chris Rutkowski was one of the ufo investigators who received Guardian's mailings back in the 80s and 90s. I also learned that Chris was invited, but declined, to participate in ‘UFO TOWN’. I thought Chris would be the perfect person to invite here to help me both further break down the case, and discuss the UFO town documentary. In this episode Christ Rutkowski and I discuss CBCs ‘UFO TOWN’ and the strange strange world of “THE GUARDIAN” Links: Watch CBC’s UFO TOWN documentary: https://gem.cbc.ca/media/cbc-docs-pov/season-4/episode-11/38e815a-013b88b0411?cmp=pov-pareto-docs Watch the original Unsolved Mysteries episode about ‘Guardian’: https://youtu.be/J5xeTd4bPz8 Watch the unedited interview with Chris Rutkowski: https://youtu.be/cwv1yrU1woU In depth report on Guardian case by Mufon Ontario: https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/ciencia_flyingobjects34.htm Credits: Musical Theme - Noir Tokyo by Monty Datta Provide feedback and comments on the episode: nighttimepodcast.com/contact Nighttime Links: Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/nighttimepodcast Website: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/NightTimePod Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NightTimePod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nighttimepod Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/nighttimepod Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/Nighttimepodcast Learn more about your ad choices. the Carp, Ontario UFO case widely centers on an anonymous whistle blower using the name 'Guardian' who for a period in the early 90s sent strange packages to UFO researchers around the world claiming that world government’s were attempting to cover up the crash of an extraterrestrial craft just outside of Ottawa in Carp, Ontario. The packages included a rambling manifesto, photographs of purported aliens, and perhaps most interesting, a vhs tape containing video of what was supposed to be a flying saucer. Despite significant attempts Guardian was never identified. in fact.. they are still trying. Our guest is just the fella to walk as through this case. Ian Rogers is a present day author, but in the early 90s when the investigation into the guardian case was active, Ian was a teenage UFO investigator who managed to walk right into the middle of one of Canada's most bizarre cases. In this episode, Ian shares the stranger than fiction story of the Carp, Ontario “Guardian” UFO Case. Lisa Marie Young was a 21-year-old indigenous Canadian who disappeared from Nanaimo, British Columbia on June 30, 2002. Lisa had spent her last known night at a local nightclub and several house parties, before accepting a ride to a fast food restaurant from a man she had just met. Her final communication was a series of distressing messages she sent to a friend suggesting she was being held against her will. Although Young has never been found, her disappearance is being investigated as a homicide.
