Dale Rancourt is a former children’s entertainer and registered sex offender who is known widely as the disgraced ‘Klutzy the Clown’, As you heard in my prior episode while researching Rancourt's life and crime I referenced a documentary film (Big Shoes) about him, produced several years before his arrest. For a period spanning a little more than a decade you would have been hard pressed to find a Cape Bretoner unfamiliar with Dale Rancourt and his character Klutzy the Clown. London, Ontario - Oct 13, 1983 17-year-old Donna-Jean Awcock was babysitting a neighbour's child in the apartment building next door to where she lived… Something she did regularly. When the child's mother returned home, in the early morning hours, she asked Donna run across the street to a convenience store before she left. This visit to the store which was only a stones throw away from her home is the last time Donna was seen alive. A gruesome discovery at a riverbank in the days later would explain what happened to her... but not who was responsible. The murder has remained unsolved for nearly 40 years, but not due to lack of trying. Donna's old sister Tammy has made it her life's mission to bring the person or persons responsible for Donna's death to justice. Shortly after the release of the prior episode in this series I connected with someone very close to this story and they offered to reveal some startling new details that will shed even more light on what may have happened to Emily Bailey. Brandon is the father of one of Emily's daughters. You've heard him mentioned in past episodes as he was the person responsible for reporting her missing to Hamilton Police. In this episode we are going to remain in Hamilton, Ontario for continued coverage related to the disappearance of 23 year old mother of two, Emily Bailey. In our prior episode, we met with Emily’s brother Ben Bailey. Shortly after the release of that episode the show was contacted by a close friend of Emily's named Nikki. This story will take us to Hamilton, Ontario in the time surrounding new year's day 2022. 23 year old mother of two Emily Bailey is juggling mental health struggles and addition while living a life resembling something between homelessness and couch surfing. Despite the instability of her lifestyle, Emily was reliable. She posted regularly to social media and had scheduled visits with her children that she would NEVER miss. But she did miss one in January and very quickly it was determined that no one had seen or heard from her in over a week. Now, over 4 months later, no sign of Emily has surfaced and given the transience of her life even the trail leading up to her disappearance is filled with mystery... obscured by conflicting statements of the unreliable witnesses of her last known days. All we know for certain is that her family is desperate to find her as well as the answers to the many questions associated with her disappearance. Then 26 year old civil engineer Andrew Gnazdowsky and a co-worker were on site completing a survey of a Nova Scotia Power dam near Sheet Harbour in October of 2020. When a technology failure disrupted their work, Andrew made the fateful decision to enter the water and collect a piece of equipment. Moments later, Andrew would yell for help before ultimately disappearing below the still water. In the year since Andrew's tragic death, the Gnazdowsky's have been steadfast in their belief that the investigation into Andrew's death has been flawed at best, completely compromised at worst, and it's not just a hunch that tells them that. In this episode our story will take us to Bathurst, New Brunswick. On the morning of May 11th, 14-year-old Madison Roy Boudreau left home heading towards her school bus stop. When Madison didn't return home after school as expected, her dad was concerned. When she didn't return by curfew that night her father knew something was wrong. Just after 4pm on August 18th, of 2021, 76 year old Paul Doughty walked up to McKay’s Wild Blueberrie’s roadside stand in Pennfield, NB and purchased a blueberry pie and a small cupcake style treat. November 9 1996, three brothers spend the day with their non custodial father at his home in Torbay, Newfoundland. Unexpectedly, but not completely surprisingly, I received an email from a very excited lady from Quebec who claimed to have filmed some odd objects hovering in the sky near her home. She didn’t believe they planes or helicopters… Belia was convinced she witnessed something very unique and she wanted my opinion on the footage she captured. In the early morning hours of July 25, 2018 a 911 call was made in Brome Lake, Qc. The caller, Riley Fairholm, reported a man in distress, carrying a handgun, and shouting to himself. When the police arrived on the scene it took only 61 seconds before a responding officer shot the young man holding the gun dead. In a confusing turn, the caller was the man with the gun. The events that led up to and followed that police interaction have received much more than 61 seconds of consideration. On May 6, 2020 three year old Dylan Ehler was visiting his grandmother’s home in Truro, NS. While playing in the back yard, his grandmother turned her back to Dylan briefly to leash a dog. At some point during that moment of inattention, Dylan vanished. Despite nearly a year of searching, the only evidence located was Dylan’s two rubber boots, both found caught amongst debris in shallow brook that flows a short distance from where he was last seen. In a prior episode, Dylan’s father Jason Ehler joined us and shared the story of his missing son, including his thoughts on the level of care Dorothy provided Dylan prior to his disappearance. That discussion with Jason made me realize that Dorothy's story is crucial in understanding what may have happened to the three year old boy at the center of this story. Up until now Dorothy has largely remained silent, allowing others to tell her story. But that will change with this episode. When scrolling through the news over my morning coffee, I found myself face to face with what can only be described as the most controversial garden in St. Catharines, Ontario.
