[09:50] Who Do Some Women Get Sick With Breast Implants, & Others Don’t? · It is important to understand why some people are healthy with breast implants and others aren't and how to intervene. It is also important to support people in whatever they want to do, know the risks, and know how to support themselves. · Body modification doesn't revolve around plastic surgery. Still, it includes the neck, click the rings in Africa, and the island where people believed the behind the knee was a second vagina. These examples show that people love to do this type of stuff and should be safe and supported. · Culture and tradition greatly influence body modification, like the Chinese foot binding was a way to signal status. · Our society is becoming less healthy due to high exposure to chemicals and increased levels of histamine, which affects the type of scar tissue capsule around a breast implant. [15:00] Does Histamine destroy collagen production? Here's what you need to know · Histamine is an important neurotransmitter but can also lead to mania and neurological function. Mast cells in different body parts work on a priming system, like dopamine with gambling. · Histamine can also drive a high level of thinking, especially in women with histamine estrogen. However, over time, it can be destructive. · Hypersecreting histamine when mast cells are primed can lead to hypermobility, and this is why people with genetic hypermobility like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome automatically skew into muscle activation syndrome. · Infection can do it as there are a lot of bugs that break down collagen and secrete histamine. This cycle is a fast-flick explanation of hypermobility. [24:30] Breast Implant: Is it safe or not? · If a person is healthy before getting breast implants, they will likely make good scar tissue capsules and not be negatively affected by the known toxins in the implants. · Those who switch implants without doing an onboard capsule ectopy can get into trouble if their collagen and system are overworking and dysregulated. This can lead to capsular contracture, which is a bad aesthetic outcome. · Scar tissue is a big issue even externally on the body, and even just a scar randomly on the body can throw off the energy system. This can lead to big scar chunks inside the chest. [36:55] How to Enhance Your Detoxification Pathways · Mineral replenishment, synthetic bile, liver flushes, liposuction, scar therapy manual therapies, and TRT machines are important. Mineral replenishment is important because it h

The body is still going through an adaptation period. So just keep working on that metabolic flexibility, and incorporate those healthy fats. Eventually, pair it with intermittent fasting when the body is ready. Medium Chain Fats (MCT) can be used to have energy and ketone production. L-carnitine can also be used to help your body produce ketone. Ensure to have a high-quality sleep and drink water with electrolytes regularly. If you still have fatigue, acquire help from a healthcare provider to get a test. [13:51] Want to Have a Good Sleep? Focus on Quality, not Quantity! Make sure to have two hours of REM and deep sleep, which is the optimal time to get a night of high-quality sleep. Finding things that slow you down are going to be helpful for assisting your body in getting into that parasympathetic. Hydration also affects our sleep. Don’t eat before sleeping; instead, have a walk. Just breathe through your nostrils and get out of the habit of mouth breathing. [23:33] How Much Protein Should You Consume Each Day? Cynthia aims for no less than 50 to 60 grams per meal because she can maintain muscle mass and build from where she is without consumption. At least getting 40 grams of animal-based protein in each meal will give you enough protein. But if you are in strength training, or in the age of 60, increasing that would be better. [33:25] Candida: How to Use Fasting to Help Fight This Infection? There isn't much food for Candida to feed on when you are fasting. Therefore, since you're starving it off, you'll inevitably see a decrease in Candida. Fasting can be useful in this situation. Understanding that substances like caprylic acid or MCT oil have therapeutic benefits is very beneficial when working with your own provider who has made recommendations. Recognize the critical importance of a biofilm breaker and a binder when developing protocols. [45:24] Are You Having Insomnia? Treat Your Sleeping Issues with These Effective Methods! Having a teaspoon of raw honey before bed gives our brain some glucose, which can help with sleep. There's difficulty falling asleep and difficulty staying asleep. Both of them need to be addressed a little bit differently. If you're having trouble falling asleep, that's about your sleep hygiene. Get your hormones tested. You want to make sure that your meals are fortified with healthy fats, protein and non-starchy carbohydrates. Myo-inositol can be very helpful for not only inducing sleep but also helping if you wake up in the middle of the night. [58:07] The Amazing Benefits of Taking Creatine Every Day Cynthia takes her creatine in her feeding window once daily It is absolutely essential that we are taking creatine exogenously outside our body because we can't get enough in our foods. You can take it with water or anything, it is easy to take daily. Women need three grams, men need five grams, and vegans need more. AND MUCH MORE! Dr Anthony Chaffee, MD | Not a Single Plant Has Less Than 60 Known Carcinogens, Vegetables Are Trying to Kill You! The Science & Evidence Supporting Our Real Ancestral Diet KKP: 558
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr Anthony Chaffee. He’s an American medical doctor and Neurosurgical resident who, over a span of 20+ years, has researched the optimal nutrition for human performance and health. He claims that the majority of the so-called chronic illnesses are brought on by the food we consume and can be treated by switching to a diet tailored to our species. About 23 years ago, when Dr Anthony was taking cancer biology at the University of Washington, they were learning about the roles of plants. Plants in general have about a million different defense chemicals that are used to poison and deter animals and insects from meeting them up. They need to be able to protect themselves because animals and insects are constantly attacking them. They learned that quite a few plant toxins had already been demonstrated to be carcinogenic by researchers and that people had even recognized this fact. Brussels sprouts had 136 identified carcinogens, and then mushrooms had over 100. And then all of these different produce items that people would eat on a regular basis would have dozens and dozens of different carcinogens in them. That’s why Dr Anthony is on full carnivore. In this episode, Dr Anthony speaks about the toxins people are getting from eating plants. He gives some advice on what you can do to avoid chronic disease and live a longer life. Tune in as we chat about carcinogens, plant toxins, hormetic effects, and the effects of eating full carnivore on your body. [12:15] Can Diabetes be Reversed with a Plant-Based Vegan Diet? Controlling blood sugar levels and insulin resistance are issues with diabetes. Lowering your insulin is the treatment for that. How may insulin levels be decreased? You lessen the level of carbs in your body. When you stop eating carbohydrates, your body will produce the right amount of carbohydrates, which will cause your insulin levels to decrease. Dr Anthony hasn’t heard of many people doing a Plant-based diet to cure type one diabetes but there are studies with ketogenic diets helping type one and type two diabetes. Some people with type one diabetes have radically changed how they manage their condition by adopting carnivorous or even ketogenic diets. They only need to provide a small amount of long-acting insulin, which will last them for the entire day, rather than many doses of the drug throughout the day. [18:52] All Plants Have Carcinogens! Why Plants Are Trying to Kill You There are undoubtedly things that have the potential to have hormetic effects. However, there is a claim that all of these plant toxins, literally millions of them, are not produced by plants for human benefit because we are not living in the Garden of Eden. There's no actual evidence provided to say which chemicals are hormetic. At what dosage? Just get one leaf from your spinach or sage. That doesn't necessarily have all the same chemicals. What kind of surroundings did it grow in? What kind of soil was it? What time was the pick? When must it be chosen as having to be freshman, it must be medicines. All of these objects' chemical makeups are altered by this. And so now all of a sudden, you don't know what dosage of digitalis you're getting. You can experience this beneficial hormetic effect in very small dosages. But it's in very controlled doses. [24:04] How can you tell whether something is working for or against you? You could follow an entire elimination diet. Do it for a month, then assess your feelings. After that, you introduce each thing one at a time. Some people are more resistant to these harmful chemicals and will have a better ability to detoxify these things. [31:51] Eating The Right Animal Protein on the Carnivore Diet Pick through exactly what you're eating. You can gain a small volume of muscle and bone and lose a large volume of fat and you'll gain weight, but your body composition will be different, and your clothes will fit differently. [44:03] Heart rate variability: A sign to see if meat or plant toxic are good or bad for you? Nothing in meat will disrupt your heart's rhythm or bring on an arrh

Then, Dr. Saladino reveals the reason he started incorporating more carbohydrates into his diet. We talk about why insulin resistance isn’t the best term to describe what is going on with people’s health. Later, we dive into the importance of lowering your linolic acid intake. Tune in as we chat about omega-3s, why Dr. Paul doesn’t eat any vegetables, and if there is a connection between eating meat and colon cancer. [00:50] Dr. Paul Saladino Talks About His Appearance on The Doctors Before Dr. Paul’s appearance on The Doctors, he was told it would be a debate. They had five doctors and one lawyer. Plus, they had a vegan doctor to argue against Dr. Paul. There was a lot of yelling, and Dr. Paul was barely given a chance to say what he needed to say. Paul invited them to his podcast to have an honest and genuine debate. None of them showed up. If you want to watch it on YouTube, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaPrrg4tytE [09:50] Why Dr. Paul Started To Eat More Carbohydrates Ketosis at the beginning for Dr. Paul without carbohydrates in his diet seemed fine. Eventually, Dr. Paul was getting a lot of muscle cramps, and he was getting heart palpitations at night. So, Dr. Paul started to reintroduce carbohydrates into his diet. First, he started to introduce honey into his lifestyle. After incorporating honey, Dr. Paul started to feel better. Blood sugar will spike when you include carbohydrates in your diet, especially honey. However, Dr. Paul’s blood glucose tracing was very low. [22:50] Why Dr. Paul Doesn’t Like The Term Insulin Resistance Paul doesn’t like the term insulin resistance. He thinks metabolic dysfunction is a more precise term. He doesn't like to say insulin resistance because two types of insulin resistance are often confused and conflated. The first type of insulin resistance is physiologic insulin resistance. Humans have evolved a state known as ketosis, which goes hand in hand with physiologic insulin resistance. Then, there is pathological insulin resistance. Many people who exclude carbohydrates will see improvements in their physiology. [34:50] The Importance of Decreasing The Amount of Linoleic Acid In Your Diet Many people should decrease the amount of linoleic acid in their diet. We have to understand how much linoleic acid is in the foods we eat as humans. Soybean oil has 45 to 50% linoleic acid. Butter and tallow, which has rendered animal fat from cows, will have much lower levels of linoleic acid, around 2%. The composition of our cell membranes takes a long time to change. So, breaking down the linoleic acid will take a great deal of time. A low carbohydrate approach will help lower the linoleic acid in your diet. [40:00] What Happens When We Consume Too Much Linoleic Acid When we eat more linoleic acid, we can find more oxidized LDL. The oxidation and the instability of linoleic acid is one of the problems. There could be some potentially hormonal roles for linoleic acid that are negative as well. The underlying thing to consider here is an evolutionarily appropriate diet for humans. We consume much more linoleic acid than we ever have. [47:25] Should You Be Taking Fish Oil on The Ketogenic Diet? Fish oil spoils extremely fast. These oils are so fragile, and we

[00:00] Diet: Supplement, Programs, and Detoxes Diet is about what you don’t put into your body or what you must remove, creating interference in your innate intelligence of healing itself. When you look at why people are getting sick, it has very little to do with the lack of vitamins or nutrition; it has more to do with what’s disrupting their health. Believe in the body and stop looking outside yourself. The answer is understanding the language of your body. Healthy people have diversity in their guts. [13:07] Fasting: Why it’s Simple, Easy, and Effective Multiple studies show that a person’s maximum growth hormone rises around day five. Fasting gets rid of bad cells that contain bad DNA. Fasting doesn’t eliminate senescent cells or cells that live too long; they recreate a new one by stimulating a stem cell. An mTOR pathway is an anabolic pathway. Variation in the diet is important. Feast famine cycling is a strategy of diet variation where we fast. Still, we must remember to feast, as feasting is as important as the fast today. [22:49] Benefits of Hormesis The premise of Hormesis is the adaptation of stress where you become stronger. Change your exercise just like we have to change our diet, create new stress, force the body to adapt again, and continue to get healthier and better. People have different adaptations, and we must understand and listen to our body to ensure that it’s adapting to the stress we benefit from. Hormesis considers fasting as a therapy, a therapeutic or healing state. Some signs of the body not adapting to the fasting stress are gaining weight, spotting, and trouble sleeping. [29:13] Glucose and Ketones In fasting, you should see glucose trending down and ketones trending up. Stronger mitochondria mean burning fat more efficiently. Ketosis is a stress to mitochondria. When the body fasts, it knows what to do. Part of it is getting at these mitochondria and powering these little powerhouses up so the body can push out toxins out of the cell, creating the energy to make hormones and make your day amazing. [35:18] Gene Triggers for Disease Epigenetics is like software; It can be changed and adapted. And so, most diseases are epigenetics. People have a stressor that can turn on or trigger a gene. Fasting and Ketosis are ways to down-regulate stressors. By feasting and famine, we create stress on the microbiome, and we create dive

[00:35] Gaining Weight and Experiencing Health Issues As A Fitness Model At one particular fitness show, Dr. Amie started gaining weight instead of losing it. Everybody knows their body. You know when your body is off. Plus, Dr. Amie was tired, and her hair was falling off. The doctor told her to eat less and exercise more. For Dr. Amie, that wasn’t possible. Six diagnoses later, a doctor said she had hypothyroidism. [04:15] How Long Does It Take For Conventional Medicine To Diagnose A Thyroid Disorder? Doctors are looking at a standard lab range, which is huge. So, it’s challenging to know about thyroid problems with conventional medicine. Some people see between six and ten doctors before learning about hypothyroidism. Amie knows someone who saw forty doctors before she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It’s different for everyone. However, if you know something is wrong with your body, then you can’t stop searching for answers. [05:05] The Symptoms To Pay Attention To For Thyroid Disorders You may have a thyroid disorder if you are gaining weight with proper diet and exercise. There are other symptoms of thyroid disorders: Hair loss Fatigue Constipation Hypo is low and slow. Your mood will be depressed, your energy will be down, and your ability to burn fat will be down. [11:55] The Role Insulin Resistance Plays With An Underactive Thyroid “I see insulin resistance in about 99% of my thyroid patients.” -Dr. Amie The thyroid gland is the ultimate master gland of all of your trickle-down hormones. If we are living a lifestyle of high carbs and high sugar, we are actually causing insulin resistance. This type of lifestyle does produce a ton of inflammation. High insulin levels will inflame the thyroid and cause the thyroid to not produce enough hormones. Inflammation is beating up the thyroid gland. [14:00] True or False: You Cannot Do Keto With An Underactive Thyroid False! Keto is by far the best way of eating for hypothyroid patients. When there is inflammation, keto can be a total game-changer. Keto will improve inflammation. Therefore, you can improve your thyroid production. [20:30] Is Long-Term Ketosis A Good Idea For People With An Underactive Thyroid? Being in ketosis for years without a break can lower your 3T3 levels. Usually, it’s not a huge issue because it only lowers those levels a little bit. Instead, Dr. Amie says to come out of ketosis everyone once in a while. Break out of ketosis; that’s all you need to do. Eat a sweet potato once a week. It will keep your thyroid gland active. [28:20] True or False: You Can’t Fast With A Thyroid Issue False! When we're talking about the thyroid, we have to take into account the adrenal glands and cortisol production. Adrenal fatigue is blown out of the water a littl

[14:04] Eating Habits and Stress Level: The Culprit Behind Type Two Diabetes - Type 2 diabetes can manifest itself in a variety of ways. The most serious issues in modern society revolve around our eating habits and stress. - Always eating high-glucose food will lead to the development of hyperemia and insulin resistance. - Every time we eat, we raise our insulin levels slightly. So, if you snack and graze for hours daily, you constantly overload your system with insulin drops. [20:29] Don’t Want To Add Fuel To The Fire? Reduce Your Carbohydrate Consumption - Glucose, the simple sugar itself, is a hundred percent dependent on insulin to get into ourselves and provide our body with fuel. - The more carbs and sugar you eat, the more insulin you’re going to produce in response - Protein has many functions in the body, so there’s minimal insulin response when it comes to eating protein. - Insulin response in dietary fat is negligible. - To prevent this disease from happening or getting worse, minimize carbohydrate intake and start a ketogenic diet. [25:10] The Negative Effects Of Storing Too Much Energy In Your Body - Accessing that stored energy in your fat is a huge pain. And then the fat cells accumulate, which is not good for your health. - Our cells are always at capacity when constantly eating these carbs. - It becomes toxic when you’re always full of energy in cells. [35:55] Good Stress And Exercising: What Is The Difference? - When you’re fasting, you activate the sympathetic nervous system, which is the fight or flight nervous system. - We just want to find the right amount of stress that challenges our bodies. - It’s about finding a balance. [40:36] What Is C-Peptide And the benefits of Measuring It? - C peptides are manufactured by beta cells, and beta cells are the insulin-producing cells in our pancreas. - People who follow a ketogenic diet and regularly fast have low insulin advancement. - We would check fasting insulin and C peptides every time to get more of an indicator of the pancreas and its flexibility. [43:40] The Positive and Negative Effects of Having Low Levels of Insulin - A Longer ketogenic diet is not that problematic for men. - Most people inadvertently spike their insulin levels because of the state of society and our relationship with food. - Megan encourages carb cycling a few times a week for hormonal benefits - It’s okay for women expecting a baby to eat fewer carbs during the first couple weeks of their cycle. Still, those carbs can be good for progesterone in the second half of the cycle. [51:43] False Studies And Misconceptions About Fasting You’ll Need To Avoid - When reading a study, you’ll need to look at the methodology and parameters used. - False Studies usually look at forms of time-restricted eating, but the controls are not very good. - Studies that say fasting does not work don’t have controls, and the assessment of the population being tested is not there
Nina Teicholz | Eat MORE Saturated Fat, Busting Myths on Red Meat, Why Fish Oil is Toxic, & Why Plant Based Diets FAIL KKP: 552
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Nina Teicholz. She is an investigative science journalist and leader in nutrition reporting who is challenging the conventional wisdom on dietary fat–particularly, whether saturated fat causes heart disease and whether fat really makes you fat. The New York Times bestselling author of The Big Fat Surprise. Teicholz also serves as Executive Director of The Nutrition Coalition, an independent non-profit group that promotes evidence-based nutrition policy. She is one of a new generation of researchers arguing that diets lower in carbohydrates are a scientifically sound approach for reversing nutrition-related diseases. For more than half a century, we’ve been told to eat a diet high in grains, low in fat, saturated fat (and cholesterol), but the last two decades of research have led a growing number of scientists to conclude that this diet, despite being rigorously tested, could never be shown to prevent any kind of disease. Teicholz’s work also explains why this diet has remained official policy for so long: the roles played by crusading scientists, the food industry, and more. In this episode, Nina opens the show by explaining her obsession with studying fat. Nina realized that people were afraid to talk about fat because the food industry was pushing their agenda. Nina explains what was wrong in the 1950s, leading most people to believe that saturated fats and dietary cholesterol cause heart disease. Later, we talk about why the American Heart Association gets so many health facts wrong. Tune in as Nina busts common myths around red meat and who is really pushing vegan and vegetarian diets. During her research, Nina came across studies pointing out the flaws in a low-fat diet. However, so many scientists at universities were terrified to talk to Nina about fat. Why? Because people in the food industry were paid to give scientists a hard time. Nina realized there was something really wrong going on here that had such enormous implications. Nutrition science from the very beginning has been heavily influenced by the food industry. For instance, the vegetable oil industry wanted to go after people for attacking vegetable oils in any way. You see the same tactics happening today on social media. [08:55] Polyunsaturated Fats vs. Saturated Fats vs. Monounsaturated Fats Fatty acids are long carbon chains. Poly means many. Polyunsaturated fats have many double bonds. Each time there's a double bond in the chain, it kinks the chain. Some examples of polyunsaturated fats: Corn oil Safflower oil Sunflower oil Canola oil Monounsaturated fats are the same carbon chain but with one double bond. If you want to use oil, it’s better to use olive oil because it only has one double bond. Saturated means that the carbon chain is statured with hydrogen, and there is no double bond. It is a flat chain, and it makes a solid like butter. Saturated fats are actually the best for cooking, and they're the healthiest for eating because they do not oxidize or cause inflammation. [17:55] What Went Wrong In The 1950s With Ancel Keys and President Eisenhower The idea that fat, cholesterol, and animal foods are bad for health began in the 1950s. The US was really in a panic over the rising tide of heart disease, which had been virtually nonexistent in the early 1900s. In the 1930s, heart disease became the number one killer. A panic started when President Eisenhower himself had a heart attack in 1955. Eisenhower’s doctor was convinced by Ancel Keys that saturated fats and dietary cholesterol cause heart disease. Plus, Ancel Keys got his ideas adopted by the American Heart Association. Ancel came out with a statement saying to avoid saturated fat and cholesterol in order to prevent heart attacks. We are still dealing with this in 2021. [23:00] Why Are Seed Oils Approved by the American Heart Association? How is it possible for the American Heart Association to continue to ignore so much scientific literature? More than 20 papers published in the field have concluded that we got it wrong on saturated fats. There is no data to justify the authorities' limits on these seed oils. It’s challenging to trust the government with our health when they recommend seed oils. [31:00] Sorry Vegans, Meat-Eatin
Amanda Gilbert | Can Meditation Help You Live Longer? What The Research Shows on Meditation & Cellular Aging, Telomere Health KKP: 551
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Amanda Gilbert. One of Amanda's high school teachers led her in meditation. This particular homeschool in the middle of West Virginia focused on search and rescue and outdoor survival skills, but it was also a special high school that included South American wisdom and philosophy because its founder visited indigenous cultures in South America and brought the wisdom of the four winds to the high school curriculum that he developed and then implemented. At this high school, Amanda spent the majority of the mornings working with a teacher who helped her focus on the present moment. Early in her 20s, Amanda kept hearing about meditation, so she decided to include it in her college undergraduate program. She was frequently given meditation books. Whayout made Amanda become a consistent meditator and a serious meditator was on the heels of a difficult early adulthood life moment. Amanda was aware that the key to any healing process was meditation. She then went in pursuit of her first meditation teachers, committed herself to daily meditation for a few hours, and started working as a clinical researcher on meditation and mindfulness at the University of California, San Francisco. After that, Amanda became a meditation teacher, and most recently, a professor of mindfulness at USC. In this episode, Amanda Gilbert dives into understanding meditation and mindfulness. She shares some advice on how you can practice meditation and mindfulness, as well as how you can show love and compassion in this world full of selfishness, judgement, and hatred. Amanda will also share how you can deal with impostor syndrome and practice gratitude, and its impact on your life. [9:09] Does meditation increase telomere length? Meditation as an anti-aging tool! Dr Elissa Epel's research focuses on stress reduction and stress management, including mindfulness and meditation and how these affect our cellular aging biomarkers like telomeres and telomerase. Meditation and mindfulness actually helped produce more telomerase at times in the body, which helped build back the length of our telomeres. Overall, our cell health and our cell aging are largely helped by spending time in meditation. The meditation retreat is well worth your time for your mental health and emotional health and overall psychological well-being. [13:40] A strong distinction between defining meditation and mindfulness Meditation is the active practice and training that we engage with in a consistent way, where we are working with our muscle of mindfulness in the mind. It is a training for our brain's attention, that helps us grow our ability to hold our brain's attention in the present moment. Mindfulness is having our attention in the present moment, moment to moment, in a non-judgmental and kind-hearted way. Mindfulness is something that we can always be practicing out in the midst of our daily lives. The first step to any change that we want in our lives always begins with awareness, meditation, and mindfulness. [23:52] The classical teachings of the Brahma vihara: Loving-kindness, Compassion, Appreciative joy, and Equanimity When we start to be able to notice these different aspects of ourselves, bringing mindfulness to our mind, bringing mindfulness to our emotions, being able to say with our experience in the present moment, what is helpful is also incorporating the heart in the heart practices. These four classical teachings of the heart, help us in navigating the inevitable stickiness, the inevitable experience of wanting to judge our minds, judge our emotions, etc. When we add in kindness and compassion as a modern-day meditator, our whole world starts to transform. [28:11] How can you show love and compassion? Be honest with the actual, palpable felt sense experience of this is what judgment feels like in your body. This is what anger feels like in your body. When we're judging, when we're angry, when we are in the frequency of hate, that's all pointed outwards, that is an external experience. Our awareness is completely anchored outwards. By bringing our aw

[00:40] How Robb Wolf Started On His Health Journey and Writing Three Books Robb’s mom had a lot of health problems. He had this sneaky suspicion that better food and exercise could lead to better outcomes. So, Robb was interested in health at an early age. He was a California State powerlifting champion and got into Thai boxing and jujitsu pretty early on. It led to an undergrad in biochemistry, and then he was looking at either medical school or the research track. In college, Robb was experimenting with his diet. He was tinkering with a low-fat, high-carb vegan diet. Robb ended up making himself very sick. On his vegan diet, Robb was on a blood sugar roller coaster all the time, he had all these gut issues, and his depression was in pretty rough shape. Eventually, he changed over to a paleo diet, and it saved his life. [08:30] Spoiler Alert: Not Everyone Knows What They Are Talking About on The Internet If you’re new to eating a raw diet or keto, you need to know the basics. Paleo, keto, and carnivore all revolve around protein. Providing nuance can be confusing when starting a new lifestyle. It’s valuable to look at a variety of different people when finding advice on the internet. Learn from people who have had success in their lifestyle and are flexible. Remember, when starting a new lifestyle, it should be simple. [14:45] Are You Having A Hard Time With Keto? Robb Wolf Explains Why A lot of the problems that people experience is just inadequate sodium intake. If you keep your electrolytes up, you can often subside cravings. Keto can be a train wreck if you are a high-intensity athlete. On hard training days, you may or may remain in ketosis despite eating 200 grams of carbohydrate per day. [19:40] It’s Critical To Keep Your Electrolytes Up To Help With Sugar Cravings You need adequate sodium. Otherwise, you may suffer from lethargy and fatigue. If you are fairly active and live in a hot, humid environment, your base level of sodium intake needs to be higher than what you probably think. If you’re eating a minimally processed diet, then a lot of your food doesn’t come with salt. You need to add salt to your diet or make sure salt is included in your foods. If you have an electrolyte imbalance, it can feel like you’re hungover. [08:56] TEDx Talk: Treat Your Body Like A Ferrari The human body should be treated with extreme care; health care and medicines increase people's longevity but not their quality of life. People require symbols that will connect them to something. Nowadays, people treat themselves more like an amusement park or a Yugo than a temple, equating to a holy body or a Ferrari. [15:00 The Cell Membrane LOVES Healthy Fats If a person is taught something from birth, their brain will remember it as true. As research into plant oils and sugar continues, the old scientific belief that plant oils are better than sugar because they lower cholesterol and make you healthier is disproven. Ketosis entails eating plants less frequently, which aids in the elimination of excess fat and the reduction of inflation. [22:21] Symptoms Are A Gift From Your Innate Intelligence Some diets, such as Ketosis, can be compared to addictions because there are withdrawal symptoms, and people sometimes feel better when they follow a specific diet. People are unique, and not everyone's body and diet requirements are the same; figure out what works best for you. Nothing is the leading symptom of everything; this is true because a single symptom can appear on multiple diseases. [34:36] Understanding The Importance of Glycans in Red Blood Cells Glycans in red blood cells determine a person's blood type. [10:22] What Cellular Senescence Is And Why is It Connected To Aging Humans One of the nine hallmarks of aging is cellular senescence. Senescence is a Latin term derived from cynics that simply means to age. As a cell matures and goes through senescence, that's what's known as cellular senescence. The core of aging occurs when cells within our bodies cease dividing and just stay within the body; this is known as senescence cells. [17:20] Tips To Prevent Senescence Cells and Keep Cells Healthy Free radicals can cause senescence cells. Increasing NAD levels would aid in support of mitochondrial pathways, ensuring the health of cells. You want to make sure that when cells are harmed, they have the ability to repair themselves. Consuming too much alcohol and eating too many fried meals can all contribute to damaged cells, which subsequently initiate the body's senescence cell mode. [28:06] The Health Benefits of Stress! A little amount of stress is beneficial to us since it will be the cause to move you into action. Cold plunges are also helpful because they create resiliency on every level of the body. Apart from stress and cold plunges, adaptogens also create resilience. It is like a buffer in the external world. [31:32] Fasting Is Critical To Let Your Body Heal And Reset From This Toxic World Fasting is one of the lifestyles that support cellular senescence. Fasting stimulates Autophagy. Thus it can help prevent senescence cells. With the toxic world we live in, fasting is critical to let our body reset and do its normal functions. Fasting, in general, is most suited to big heavyset body types. [38:24] Do This to Boost Your Mental Function Qualia Resilience Supplement is a stress formula that doesn't inhibit motivation. Its purpose is to elevate mental function as well as buffered the effects of stress. You can do the regimen for five days on and then take a break on weekends. This will give you more freedom. It is not intended to knock you out in order to encourage deep sleep. It's designed to provide you with adaptogenic chemicals that normalize physiology needed later in the evening. And that's exactly what it's intended for; it's mostly a nocturnal adaptogen; I wouldn't advocate using adaptogens in the afternoon. [47:40] How to Build a Bulletproof Immune System Immune cells, like all other cells in the body, ultimately die. And as these immune cells age, your immune function declines over time. As a result, part of the immune cell function and purpose in the body is to monitor the body for these senescent cells and subsequently remove and eradicate them. Beta-glucans can help your body build immunity. You may start small and gradually increase your immune intelligence so that when you have any environmental exposure, your body is ready to respond in a healthy, intelligent manner. Taking Vitamin D, vitamin K, and zinc regularly is also recommended to build immunity. AND MUCH MORE! Resources from thi

Chris Irvin | The Difference Between Fat Adaptation & Keto Adaptation, & Why You Feel So Damn Good When You Are In Ketosis! KKP: 546
Today, I am blessed to have you here with me Chris Irvin. He is a researcher of health and an educator whose sole focus is on low-carb and keto diets and their effects on health and human performance. He is also a writer and the author of Keto Answers, Mommy Do I Have to Eat This? 💻 4 Secrets to Keto Masterclass: https://www.ketokamp.com/keto-masterclass-1 Chris and I first connected online and did a podcast. The first time we ever met in person was during KetoCon. Chris is also a player of basketball and he often plays two to three times a week. He mentioned that exercise should be something that you enjoy doing, rather than being a punishment. As he plays basketball, it is usually equivalent to five to six miles of working which is already considered a high-intensity workout. If this was running, he wouldn't be able to enjoy it and he'll most likely quit once he is tired. In this episode, the podcast started about sports and exercise. Chris eventually discussed the Keto diet and its current state of popularity. He also talks about the benefits and importance of Keto. The difference between fat and keto adaptations was also discussed in this episode. [05:09] Exercise is Something to Enjoy, not a Punishment. Exercise should be something you enjoy doing, instead of being a punishment. When you do something you enjoy for exercise, you'll be able to get anywhere. It may even be a high-intensity style of training. When you do an exercise that you do not enjoy, you will push yourself up to the limit and stop once you’re tired. [10:26] Is there a decrease in Keto's popularity as a diet? Keto or Ketogenic diet has been cyclical over the last five years. In Google trends, it often maxes out at some time of the year and would decrease on the rest of the year. Some people only use Keto as a tool to achieve a certain goal. They would transition to another diet once that goal is reached. In 2018, Keto was popular and people, influencers, and companies were leaning into it. Some influencers who were into Keto before are no longer promoting and doing the Keto diet. [14:30] How Does Keto Diet Help a Person? Keto is a great way to get into when you are trying to lose weight. The presence of the weight loss process is better than not having it. You don't need to be on a Keto diet 24/7. When you know about the metabolic processes and the things that happen with Keto, you'll realize that being on a Keto diet from time to time will provide tons of benefits – both short and long-term. [18:05] How Long Should a Person Be In Ketosis? Metabolic health is important. It can be considered a center of health in general. If you are trying to improve your metabolic markers, try to follow Keto Diet for 30 days and get your blood work after. If you see some improvements, you can continue the diet or you can also transition to Low Carb diet. You can also try to continue the Keto diet until you reach the desired metabolic markers. However, if you aren't feeling great, then you must switch to another diet. [25:36] The Difference Between Fat & Keto Adaptation and their effects on the Body Keto and Fat adaptation are often used interchangeably. However, there's a difference between them, especially in how it processes in the body. If you are fat-adapted, you have low blood sugar and insulin which enables you to burn fat. When you're burning fat, you are releasing stored fatty acids from your fat cells into the bloodstream and using them for energy. In Keto adaptation, you are using Ketones as an energy source. Brains are the best users of Ketones. The body often preserves Ketones for the Brain to use as an energy source. [31:30] What are the Benefits of Getting Keto Adapted? Oftentimes, people will experience benefits and effects after weeks of Keto Adaptation. However, it varies from person to person depending on where you're coming from. Some problems encountered in Keto adaptation include stopping it after achieving your desired weight. Most people who decided to continue despite reaching their goals are experiencing a new level of benefits. [45:52] Metabolic Health Should Be Your Main Focus Metabolic Health isn’t just focused on the diet. It is also about exercise, sleep, stress management, and more. It is more than just being Keto or Carbs. To change and

[09:51] NAD: The powerful supplement! Are there pros and cons to using it? · NAD exists inside the body and is necessary for the body to do what it needs. · It is the building blocks that the body creates or recycles and then gets into the cell. Without NAD, the body doesn't know how to break it down and get it into the cells. To communicate with the body, we need to communicate in its cascade of responses and have the body figure out what it needs to do. · NAD is the result of the end process of something; the result and the end of it would be fill-in-the-blank. · The problem with supplementing on NAD precursor, NAD building blocks, is that it has a hierarchy of what organ they meet first and what organ the body prioritizes. · NAD precursor building blocks to methyl groups are interchangeable so it would be good. Most of the energy will stay in the liver, while the rest will go to muscles, the heart, and the brain. · The most important details in this text are that it is important to have NAD precursors absorbed directly into the skin and taken by the skin. NAD is more like potential energy than potential energy. [19:29] The Look of Skin and Why Skin Health Matters · Auto luminescence in the skin can be used to infer the person's health; in general, the skin signals sexual vibrancy in youth as we grow older past that point. If these organs are not functioning correctly, it can affect our skin's appearance, such as acne, collagen production, etc. · When we grow, the skin becomes more and more a protective organ, more and more an organ that is more like a barrier, more like taking the brunt of our exposure to environmental stressors, such as UV, pollution, and EMF. This can lead to hyperpigmentation and senescent cells, malfunctioning cells that can become cancerous and dangerous. · Zombie cells are troublemakers because they infect other cells, don't contribute to the organism, and only create inflammation. It contributes to whole-body aging, as the skin is one of the organs exposed to the environment. · Aging is a snowball, where in the beginning, we are creating damage to the skin and aging in the skin, but it eventually comes back to bite us. [26:05] The Mechanism Between the Skin and The Hypothalamus Pituitary · The skin is directly connected to the hypothalamus-pituitary axis, which is responsible for relaying environmental stressors. · Senescence cells, melanocytes, pigment-creating cells, immune cells, and cells are our blood cells in the skin, or the cells around our blood vessels, creating inflammation. · When there is a big disruption in the body, these s

[01:00] It's Important To Prioritize Your Sleep So You Can Win The Day During sleep, your body and your mind will repair. Also, during sleep, your body will store hormones and burn fat. Sleep will let you make better decisions for the next day. When you're sleep-deprived, your ability to make good decisions goes out the window. REM sleep is recharging your brain, and it allows us to make good decisions. When the prefrontal cortex is energized and refreshed, we can make great choices throughout the day. [05:10] Mental Health: What Role Does Sleep Play? If you have ever been chronically sleep-deprived, you know how mentally terrible you feel. When we are not taking care of our mental health, it leads us back to making poor decisions. A lack of sleep can make us irritable, angry, frustrated, and even lead to road rage. Also, with a lack of sleep, your reaction time gets decreased. [11:20] What Is REM Sleep and How Much Do I Need? There are so many factors that go into how much REM sleep you need. 20% – 25% of your sleep should be deep, and the same goes for REM. Sleep is dynamic. You need to figure out how much REM sleep is optimal for you. If you wake up and you feel refreshed, mentally and physically, that's a good sign that you're getting enough REM sleep. [15:00] Why Do We Sleep, Anyway? It’s Great For Your Physical Body! Sleep helps with physical restoration. Growth hormones are released throughout the night. Sleep deprivation will actually impact the man’s testicle size. Devin recommends reading Why We Sleep: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y649387/benazadi-20 Deep sleep happens during the first quarter of the night. During deep sleep, your body is cleaning the cells. When you're not getting enough sleep, that throws off your insulin which leads to food cravings and food addiction. [18:30] You’re Not Getting Quality Sleep. That’s A Problem For Your Cortisol. Cortisol naturally should be highest in the morning. When you’re not getting enough sleep, your cortisol levels will stay high. If you’re not getting quality sleep, hormones are dysregulated. Then, your blood sugar will go all over the place. So, you crave sugar! When glucose goes up, ketones go down. [21:20] Caffeine’s Surprising Connection To Sleep Problems Caffeine blocks the adenosine receptors. The more caffeine you drink, the less you are letting your body rest. Caffeine gets in the way of getting quality sleep. When you’re not getting quality sleep, you’re in sleep debt. Plus, caffeine will dysregulate your circadian rhythm. People metabolize caffeine at different rates in different ways. [27:45] Sleep Tips: Create A Bedtime Buffer Between Day and Night Having a buffer of time between your day and your night is very important. The most important transition of the day is the transition from your actual day to the night.

[07:59] Gluten-free Diet: What is it, How to do it, and Challenges · Gluten-free doesn't necessarily mean it's healthy. · Creating alternatives for recipes with Gluten is hard to replicate as particular qualities of gluten are hard to replicate. · Companies capitalize on keywords that are popular in the market. It is recommended to look at the ingredients of products. [21:09] How to Encourage Your Kids to Live a Healthier Lifestyle Parents shouldn't push their agenda on anyone. Instead, they should model good behavior and habits. Keto is only for some. Families should take into consideration if it's applicable or if there are members of the family have certain medical conditions. [30:17] Avoid These Ingredients At All Costs If You Are Doing Keto Any sugar is still sugar. It's best to use the least amount of sugar to make food rather than artificial sweetener. Gums and seed oils are ingredients that go through several chemical processes with deodorizers, which are bad for a person's health. Americans have a sweeter-pro palette due to many foods containing so many sugars, which makes them addictive. Grass-fed meats, pastured chickens, and eggs are cost-prohibitive for most people, but it is a better alternative for people and the Earth. Dr Jay T Wiles | Balance Your Nervous System & Increase Heart Rate Variability With These Simple Techniques KKP: 542
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr Jay T. Wiles. He is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Hanu Health. Dr Jay is also a prominent expert in mental health optimization, HRV, and biofeedback. Dr Jay is a clinical health and performance psychologist. He has a master's degree in clinical therapy and then went on to his doctoral degree in clinical psychology. When he was in his residency, he and his co-workers were exposed to a toxic black mold. This led him to be more interested in health, wellness, and integrative holistic health. Since then, his residency in the Department of Veteran Affairs grew his desire to study heart rate variability and biofeedback and how it relates to Nervous System Monitoring and functioning. In 2018, Dr Jay launched his consulting company, which is utilized by elite athletes, high-performance executives, and CEOs to understand data from wearables while learning how to manage their nervous systems using tools and procedures. His firm, Hanu, was founded in 2021. It is a digital mental health platform that uses wearable technology to track changes in the human stress response. They then train resilience through various techniques. In this episode, Dr Jay speaks about heart rate variability and its relation to the nervous system. Dr Jay talks about how to gauge parasympathetic balance. [8:46] Heart Rate Variability Increasing? Don’t Worry. Nervous System is Adapting! - Heart rate and heart rate variability are not the same things. We may acquire a decent insight by evaluating both of them. - Heart rate variability is similar to examining heart rate through a microscope. - The heart does not beat to the beat of a metronome. In reality, it rapidly accelerates and decelerates. - Heart rate variability examines temporal variations or variance, which is the difference in time between each succeeding heartbeat. - Increased Heart Rate Variability indicates that the nervous system is adaptable; it can assimilate information within its surroundings and adjust. [14:17] Stress is Not Bad, Just Be Adaptable and Regulate Your Nervous System - Remember that HRV as a metric does not often behave the same way as many other metrics that serve as the normative basis of comparison. - Several conflicting elements contribute to HRV being what it is. When we compare two people's heart rate variability, it's like comparing apples and oranges. - A decrease in heart rate variability indicates that the nervous system is too busy and is having a tough time changing and adapting to its surroundings. - If we are not regulating our nervous system response, as seen by a reduction in heart rate variability, it undoubtedly aggravates any other forms of physiological abnormalities. [19:20] What Is the Best Way to Gauge the Parasympathetic Balance? - There are other methods available, but they are often more intrusive. - Another approach would be to examine general brainwave functioning and changes in brainwave states. - We have so much evidence in the scientific literature that heart rate variability is now the single best non-invasive technique to have a proxy for nervous system functioning and balance. - Many people experience nervous system assaults throughout the day, increasing over time. If they are unaware of what is going on, and especially if they are not managing their reaction at that period, we observe the emergence of a host of various mental and physical health problems. - What we can truly do is train our neurological systems to behave in a more adaptable manner, which will make us happier. [30:17] Using the Device to Measure HRV? Look At the Stress Resiliency Number - The Stress Resiliency Number is a 0 to 100 number that takes all of your data and plots it on a 0 to 100 scale. - If you don’t understand how to interpret HRV, Stress Resiliency Number is a great number to look at. - Your goal is to get yourself above that 80 to 100 thresholds, which is like our green zone. - As the HRV goes down, so does your Stress Resiliency Number. [41:59] Digest Your Meal Better, Do A Pre-Meal Breathwork Session - It's a biofee

[01:10] How Tara Started Unapologetically Honoring What Was Best For Her Weight has been an issue for Tara since the third grade. Being a stay-at-home mom was definitely not aligned with Tara’s personality. She felt sad and depressed as a stay-at-home mom. Tara started weightlifting because the gym by her house only had weights and treadmills. After lifting weights for eight months, Tara looked exactly the same. So, she decided to switch her nutrition – she went from 40% body fat to 11% body fat. Then, Tara found keto. She felt healthy in both her mind and her body. [11:20] The Discomfort That You Have To Go Through Is Temporary The life of your dreams is a life of alignment with yourself and your authentic self. Exercising and diet is a temporary stressor. You aren’t going to be stressed forever. The actions required for you to gain muscle is going to suck. However, your body is excellent at retaining muscle. So, the discomfort is temporary. How you see yourself matters way more than how everyone else sees you. [17:30] Why You Need To Align With Your Truth Most people know that they need to stop exercising and sleep more. If you have hypothyroidism, you're super inflamed, your CRP is off the charts, and you're exhausted, then yes, you need to sleep more! Training is inflammatory, and if you’re already inflamed, there will be problems. You already know what you need to do; listen to your body. Trust your feelings. [21:15] Why You Don’t Want To Be In Ketosis For Your Entire Life If you love being in ketosis, you can stay in it for as long as you want. If keto doesn’t feel as good as it used to, then you may want to switch things up. Keto impacts our neurotransmitters and our mental health. When you eat a diet that is mostly fat and protein, your body will favor dopamine production. When you eat a diet that's mostly carbs and protein, you will favor serotonin production. If you're not eating carbs, you're not going to favor serotonin production as much. One of the reasons you should carb cycle is to improve your emotions and mood. [31:20] Guess What? Insulin Isn’t The Enemy! If you don’t have high blood sugar, then insulin isn’t the enemy. Insulin is an energy shuttling hormone. It takes glucose and places it in our bodies. We can store anywhere from 350 up to 800 grams of carbohydrates in our liver and muscles. Athletes can eat a lot of carbohydrates and not be obese because of the energy they are using. If you aren’t exercising, your body will store carbohydrates as fat storage. [36:00] Tara Always Trains When She Is Fasted – Here’s Why Tara always trains fasted; it’s great for your metabolism. If you are healthy, you should be able to train fasted in the morning. If you can’t train fasted, then you have some work to do with your blood sugar regulation. Tara will thrive off of adrenaline during a fasted workout. Eating will bring your adrenaline down. [39:20] Adrenals and Salt: The Importance of Sodium On Keto If you don't have enough salt on keto, your kidneys will excrete aldosterone, and then you'll start to have high adrenaline and high cortisol long-term. Rushing women syndrome is a hallmark of adrenal stress. If you’re not okay with sitting still and being calm,

When bacteria break down and die, bits of their cell wall remains, and this LPS can enter your bloodstream and trigger inflammation. - Gram-negative bacteria are potential indicators of Parkinson's and other diseases. - A blood test is the easiest way to know if you have high levels of LPS. - Other than LPS, bacteria produce proteins or peptides, which can cause autoimmune diseases. [14:59] You are Being Killed by Your Immune System Response, Not The Pathogen! - When you get an LPS challenge, you can become LPS tolerant. - It's your immune system response that kills you, not the pathogen itself. - The more and more traffic that builds up slowly with that LPs, the more problems you start to see. - Mitohormesis and LPS can both can reprogram macrophages. [24:11] Do You Love Fruits? Eat In the Right Time and Build Your Metabolism - When the season arrives and fruit ripens, you need to eat some fruit. - In this day and age, fruits are always available, and we might always be tempted to eat them. Patrick Bet David | How to Overcome Lack of Motivation, A Life Changing Conversation To Help You Crush Your Goals! KKP: 538
Today, I am grateful to have here with me, someone who went from a humble beginning as a young immigrant escaping war-torn Iran with his parents, to founding his own company, Patrick Bet-David. Patrick has gained a first-hand understanding of what rags-to-riches means and how it is fueled by freedom and opportunity – the core tenants of the American Dream. Patrick’s amazing story starts with his family immigrating to America when he was 10-years old. His parents fled Iran as refugees during the Iranian revolution and were eventually granted U.S. citizenship. After high school Patrick joined the U.S. military and served in the 101st Airborne before starting a business career in the financial services industry. After a tenure with a couple of traditional companies, he was inspired to launch PHP Agency Inc., an insurance sales, marketing and distribution company – and did so before he turned 30. PHP is now one of the fastest growing companies in the financial marketplace. Patrick is passionate about shaping the next generation of leaders by teaching thought-provoking perspectives on entrepreneurship and disrupting the traditional approach to a career. Patrick’s popularity surged and created a buzz in the hearts of entrepreneurs all over the world when The Life of an Entrepreneur in 90 Seconds, a video he created, accumulated over 30 million views online (It became a book in June 2016: The Life of an Entrepreneur in 90 Pages ). That video and scores of other videos comprise his library of edifying, educational and inspirational content about entrepreneurship – all available at Valuetainment, a media brand he conceived and founded. Valuetainment exists to teach about the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and personal development while inspiring people to break from limiting beliefs or other constraints and achieve their dreams. It has been referred to as “the best channel for entrepreneurs.” This episode originally aired in May 2020. In this episode, Patrick opens the show diving deep into his story and revealing what it was like to have a relationship with the late, great Kobe Bryant. Patrick explains how the coronavirus pandemic can actually be an opportunity – for instance; his business set a record-breaking month in March. Then, Patrick describes the importance of health for entrepreneurs and why he loves to hire people who have a chip on their shoulder. Stay tuned as Patrick speaks about discipline, writing down your goals, and asking the right questions. Don’t forget to order Patrick’s latest work, Your Next Five Moves. [00:25] About Patrick Bet David Patrick grew his insurance company from 66 agents to 14,000 agents with 130 offices. On the side, Patrick started a YouTube channel. The channel numbers grew to a couple of million subscribers. In the beginning, he would talk about all sorts of things, and it wasn’t practical. He thought about the one word that he knew the most about – it was capitalism and entrepreneurship. The number one word became “entrepreneur.” [04:45] Lessons Learned from Kobe Bryant Kobe and Patrick spent an hour talking about life. He spent fifteen minutes with his son and another fifteen minutes with his wife. Kobe is simple. He has a level of clarity and focus that none of his peers have. What’s the most significant difference between Kobe and Jordan? Jordan never worked as hard as Kobe did. Kobe wasn’t as talented, so he had to work harder. After the interview with Kobe, a relationship started between him and Patrick. Unfortunately, Kobe died before they could start their next endeavors. Watch the interview that Patrick did with Kobe Bryant: Kobe Bryant’s Last Great Interview. [13:45] The Coronavirus is an Opportunity Patrick says his business has increased exponentially because of the coronavirus. Immediately, Patrick converted all of his presentations to Zoom. Because they pivoted quickly, Patrick ended up having an advantage. In March, PHP had a record-breaking month. After researching the virus, Patrick was calm and used his confidence to be there for his team. [19:50] How Important is Prioritizing Health as an Entrepreneur? Twice a week, Patrick hires a yoga instructor to do yoga with his employees. Plus, they also have a fully stocked gym. The bigger the vision, the more energy you require. The more energy you require, the closer attention you need to pay to your health. If you get sick for a week, then you lose momentum. Without energy, Patrick wouldn’t be able to do anything; health is criti
Dr Michelle Jorgensen | This Holistic Dentist Believes Lack of Oxygen From Blocked Airway Pathways Are At The Root Cause of Your Symptoms! KKP: 537
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Michelle Jorgensen. She is an author, speaker, teacher, and holistic dentist. She is a Functional Integrative Dentist (DDS) and a Board-Certified Traditional Naturopath (BCTN). She also has certifications like Therapeutic Nutritional Counselor (TNC) and Certified Nutritional Autoimmune Specialist (CNAS). Dr. Michelle grew up in a family surrounding dentistry as his father is a dentist. She also chose the same path and about 10 years later, she felt very sick. She tried to figure out what was happening, and she discovered that she developed mercury poisoning caused by mercury fillings she drilled out from her patients. As Dr. Michelle was in the process of trying to figure out what to do, the doctor mentioned that it is something that will be hard to get out of if she will continue to inhale it from her patients. She had to do some research in order to know a way to prevent it from being inhaled. She discovered an organization that has a protocol for it and started doing it herself. In this episode, Dr. Michelle discusses about the presence of mercury in the dental industry and its harmful effects on people. She talks about her personal experiences and what she had to go through when she got mercury poisoning. Aside from that, she will also be discussing topics like sleeping problems and their correlation with oxygen or airways. [06:08] Tests to Take to Determine the Presence of Mercury in Your Body Mercury hides in a person’s organs and tissues. It wouldn’t show up easily on a hair analysis test. A provocation test can be done to detect mercury in the body as it takes something from the tissue for testing. The best way to find the kind of Mercury you are dealing with is through a urine test It took a while before Dr. Michelle’s health improved due to Mercury exposure. It’s a slow process of recovery. [11:38] Mercury Poisoning and Its Harmful Effects on the Body Zinc helps in creating stomach acid. The presence of mercury in the body prevents the creation of stomach acid, hence it’ll be hard to digest food and absorb the nutrients. No matter what you do, if your stomach can’t create acid, it’ll be hard to break down food. You’ll end up getting malnourished and a lot of problems may arise. Mercury doesn’t affect thyroid function as much as Fluoride. Fluoride, Iodine, Bromine, and Chloride may have an effect and interfere with thyroid hormone activation. Mercury is like a bully that has an effect against everything. A baby can inherit the Mercury that exists in their mom’s body or tissues. It detoxes into the baby. One’s body works differently than the others. Some are experiencing Methylation issues or Methylation variations that enable the body to determine whether to keep or throw something. [18:41] What to Do When You Have Issues with your Dental Fillings? If you’re having a Mercury issue with your fillings, you have to get it removed safely. You shouldn’t just remove them unsafely from a regular dentist. It’s better to let it be than have it removed unsafely. Removing it unsafely is giving a risk of much bigger mercury exposure than leaving them be. [25:40] How Do Oxygenation and Airway Issues Affect a Person's Sleep? At least 75% of people have airway obstruction, however, it isn’t entirely sleep apnea. Oxygen is needed in the blood as the blood takes it to every single cell in the body. If you’re not getting enough oxygen, your blood won’t have much oxygen. If you have high blood pressure that you can’t figure out what the cause is, it might be due to low oxygenation and airway issues when you’re sleeping. Oura ring can help become an indicator of your oxygen saturation. When a person wakes up because they need to go to the bathroom, they are already awake at the time. The body has a hormone that prevents oneself from the need to go to the bathroom, so if you have this urge, then you’re already awake the moment you felt it. A cone beam CT scan is one of the things that can help you in checking your airway. It will help determine what’s causing the lack of sleep in a person. It needs to be a Cone Beam CT scan full volume or a larger volume for this. Gum recession, worn-out front teeth, bumps of bone under the tongue from squeezing and clenching to flatten the tongue and open up the airway, etc. are signs that you need to pay attention to. [40:25] Possible Solu

[11:30] Want to Get Better Sleep? Improve Your Environment to Get Rid of Sleep Interrupters - To have a good sleep, you need to eliminate or manage the amount of light in your room. - Your circadian clock will be disrupted if you're not managing light properly. Start dimming the lights in your house or create some ambient lighting so you can see where you're going. - You can use red light bulbs that help as well. Some people will put on some blue light bulbs and turn those on. - Use blue light-blocking glasses. Pick one of these and try to manage darkness again about 90 minutes before your target bedtime. - You need to check the temperature. It is advisable to sleep in a chilly place to have a good sleep. - Boost your serotonin and get better sleep. Anything you can do to increase your serotonin will improve your sleep. [21:58] Lack of Sleep? You Should Enhance Your Sleeping Schedule! - To optimize your sleeping schedule, you need to wire genetically to wake up with light. - Light is better than just being jarred awake with some form of alarm in raising the temperature. - You can use melatonin which is good for falling asleep. It's good for triggering the hormonal cascade we want for deep sleep. - You can power through that target bedtime, get that cortisol response, and your sleep is compromised. That's a good time to use melatonin to help shut your brain down and calm yourself out. - Dream optimizer is awesome for people that wake up in the middle of the night and want to go back to bed. A couple of sprays will get you another round of sleep. [31:30] Does Melatonin Really Help You Sleep? Let’s See! - Melatonin also helps regulate your body temperature, blood pressure, blood glucose, body weight, and levels of some hormones. - Your melatonin levels start to rise when it’s dark outside, signaling your body that it’s time to sleep. They then decrease in the morning to promote wakefulness when it’s light outside. - Melatonin also binds to receptors in your body to help you relax. Melatonin’s exact mechanisms are unclear. Research suggests that these processes may help you fall asleep. - Melatonin is an effective supplement that may help you fall asleep, especially if you have insomnia or jet lag. It may offer other health benefits as well. [39:45] GABA: A Molecule of Chills and A Really Powerful Neurotransmitter - Insomniacs are about 30% deficient in GABA and there's a genetic component to insomnia. - Supplementing with GABA can be powerful. Every form of GABA on the market is tested, and probiotics will produce neurotransmitters. - When you take GABA, it signals through your gut to your brain that it's there, it's present, because it will not cross the blood-brain barrier. [46:58] Want to Try an Effortless Way to Track Your Sleep? Try Sleep Sensing! - There is a pattern where your body will try to emphasize deep sleep or REM sleep; now both are happening all the time. - Only when a brain electrode is worn can you obtain reliable sleep tracking data. Pushing your brain that hard allows it to recover faster. The breakthrough Matt uses practically every night is consistently effective, and he has no problems

[01:00] About Cameron George In his early twenties, TRU KAVA co-founder Cameron George developed a severe autoimmune/nervous system condition that rendered him temporarily disabled and unable to work or function without assistance. Cameron also suffered from chronic fatigue, severe cognitive deficits, constant anxiety, insomnia, and convulsions that inhibited his ability to recover at any degree. After seeing countless doctors, he started researching medicinal herbs with anti-anxiety/anticonvulsant properties to reduce his anxiety and convulsions. This eventually led him to discover the excellent medicinal benefits of "true" KAVA, a potent plant-based anxiety-reducing nootropic drink from islands in the south pacific. [28:00] How KAVA Can Benefit People With Autoimmune Diseases To understand KAVA, it’s best to look at it from a philosophical perspective first. KAVA plays a protective role in ecology. It creates a lot of chemical compounds to protect itself and the other organisms around it. KAVA has anti-inflammatory action and anticonvulsant action. Autoimmunity is trauma from the gut and psyche. Because of KAVA’s anti-inflammatory and anticonvulsant actions, it is helpful for people with autoimmune issues. KAVA will calm the nervous system and the immune system. It’s a broad spectrum natural protective substance that protects us from inflammation. [32:50] Using KAVA To Handle Stress All disease comes from stress. Whether it be physical, chemical, or emotional – you need to be exposed to only adaptable stress. We need tools and strategies that can increase our resilience to all forms of stress. KAVA is not the only tool. However, it’s a critical intervention tool that calms down the storm inside our body during trauma. Instead of turning to alcohol, KAVA can help give us an acute therapeutic crutch. Stress will put us in a state of fear and distort reality - KAVA will help alleviate the stress. [36:00] How KAVA Can Affect Cortisol KAVA can help metabolic flexibility – it will reduce cortisol and reactivity in the body. People who combine coffee and KAVA found that their blood glucose levels go down significantly. On average KAVA will drop glucose below the baseline. Outside of cortisol reduction, KAVA is a full-spectrum adaptative substance. It will put the body in a hyper fasted state. [43:10] Maximizing The Effects of KAVA You can maximize the effects of KAVA by drinking it with coffee. Have some of the coffee then put KAVA under your tongue as well. The KAVA shots are stronger - they will enhance creativity. There’s a spectrum of strength depending on which product you are looking at. [44:20] How TRU KAVA is Unique The main differentiating factor is that TRU KAVA only uses 100% root material. Many products have the leaves and stems in them. They can actually be quite toxic to humans and cause a lot of problems. TRU KAVA never uses

Dr Russell Kennedy | Anxiety Rx: A New Prescription for Anxiety Relief from the Doctor Who Created It KKP: 533
Today, I am blessed to have Dr. Russell Kennedy here with me. He is a medical practitioner who also holds a degree in neuroscience and is dedicated to assisting those with mental illness. In addition, he is the author of the book Anxiety Rx, a certified yoga instructor, a speaker with the National Speakers Bureau. For many years, he worked as a doctor during the day and a stand-up comedian at night, appearing in comedy clubs all over the country. His expertise is anxiety because he too suffered from it for a long time and wants to prevent others from going through what he did. He is well-known as The Anxiety MD. Dr. Kennedy grew up with a father who had a lot of challenges and essentially faced many challenges himself. His father had schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and had a lot of trauma in his environment growing up. One of the reasons Dr. Kennedy became a physician was his feeling of impotence watching his dad decline over and over and he wanted to have power over illness somewhat. In this episode, Dr. Kennedy speaks about his experiences with mental illnesses. He also talks about his challenges growing up with a mentally challenged father and how he was able to transform into the man of medicine he is today. [07:27] Blasts from the Past and Understanding Trauma Dr. Kennedy didn't do very well in grade school, he was a C- student. One of his teachers eventually became his patient and they had a laugh about the past. His seventh-grade bully also came to him as a patient. Meeting him was one of his biggest lessons he learned while practicing medicine. He realized that the bully was traumatized from childhood and took it out in the only place that he could. You cannot compare traumas. [13:00] The Biggest Enemy in Healing Anxiety You cannot expect a book to heal your anxiety. It only provides you with the framework, the work is yours to do. The biggest enemy in healing anxiety is an overprotective ego. An overprotective ego doesn't let you go back and experience the same pain that you were used to. Unless you can go back and feel it, you can't bring it to the surface, a place where you can start changing. You cannot change them unless you use feeling to change them. [29:13] Changing Your Physiology in Combination with Mindset The biggest thing in changing one's physiology is breathing. As soon as you focus on your breath, it naturally slows down. The mind usually runs too quickly that the body has no choice but to breathe quickly, shrinking down your chest. When your chest shrinks, it sends a message to the brainstem that you are in trouble. Your breathing becomes very shallow. [39:05] Understanding the Root of Anxiety, "Body Alarms", and Healing A lot of people don't even think to look at their body because their mind is usually moving too fast to process anything. When you are anxious or alarmed, you must investigate your body and find the cause. A lot of people who are of senior age haven't even thought of looking at the anxiety in their bodies. The mind reflects how the body feels. If you have an alarm in your system that's been there due to past trauma, your mind is going to react to it repeatedly until it becomes its go-to. [1:02:39] Unconsciously Reliving Trauma through Mind Regression If you have chronic stress like a lot of people, especially those who had a traumatic or abusive past, your mind gets pushed back into the time when you experienced such things. There is a theory that states that if you experienced a significant trauma as a child, part of you stays locked at that certain age until it gets brought back up. Mirror work deals with this by reminding yourself that you are living in the present. AND MUCH MORE! For more than two decades, his research has exposed how biotech companies mislead policy makers and the public and put the health of society and the environment at risk. This episode originally aired in October 2021. In this episode, Jeffrey Smith opens the show by speaking about his studies of chemicals and glyphosate. After attending a genetic engineer whistleblower lecture, Jeffrey did his own research, wrote books, and even directed movies. Jeffrey explains why GMOs are not the way to solve a world hunger crisis. Tune in as we dive deep into what glyphosate and GMOs are doing to animals, humans, and the general environment. Monsanto was about to genetically engineer the food supply of soy and corn grown in Iowa. However, hardly anyone knew about it. The scientist knew that the technology was dangerous and could have a dramatic effect on human health. Jeffrey realized the fraud that allowed it to be approved by the corrupt regulatory agencies captured based on the mythological lies by the biotech industry claiming safety. So, Jeffrey started writing books and making movies about the controversy. Based on the evidence he collected, Jeffrey was convinced that eating these foods was causing tremendous harm to the US population and around the world. Did you know that GMOs have nothing to offer when it comes to feeding the hungry world? GMOs do not increase average yields, and increasing yields is not necessarily the way to handle hunger. Currently, there's more food per person than at any time in human history. GMOs work against developing countries, destroys biodiversity and concentrates the power into the hands of corporations. Sadly, GMOs can devastate both the health of humans and animals. [19:50] What Is Happening To Humans When Pesticides Are Going Into Our Water Supply? One of the highest levels of Roundup is in the animal feeds. In addition to being patented as an herbicide, glyphosate was patented as an antibiotic. Glyphosate is a special type of antibiotic because it kills the beneficial bacteria in our gut, not the pathogens. So, it creates dangerous changes in our bodies. Roundup can be a cause of leaky gut, and all diseases come from a leaky gut. Glyphosate damages the sequence of the DNA and creates oxidative stress, linking it to cancer. There are also birth defects associated with it and changes in epigenetics. [37:55] How Do You Go About Finding Wine That Is Not Contaminated? Finding a wine that is not contaminated will be a heavy burden. Someone did a study on organic wines in California. All except one had traces of glyphosate. Why are there traces of glyphosate in most wines? Well, it’s because the water supply is contaminated and because the air is contaminated. Most of the time, ‘organic’ isn’t good enough. Instead, you need to know that it is non-GMO verified. [43:00] The Terms We Want To Look For When We're Shopping For Products Even if the beef says ‘grass-fed,’ it could be grain-finished. If they grain finish, it is probably corn, and that would contain GMOs. You want 100% grass-fed beef. Ideally, you want to call them and ask if the pastures contain any genetically engineered alfalfa. Remember, consumer demand drives the companies. We really want the 100% grass-fed people to say no genetically engineere

[01:04] Jenn’s Pain to Purpose Story of Health Challenges Jenn was a physically and healthy-minded person. She realized she had been struggling with health issues as she went through college and continued to experience more. Eventually, she was also diagnosed with skin cancer. Through her recovery journey, she found her passion for being a personal trainer. The sun is not the cause of skin cancer. Instead, it is what is happening underneath the skin. [04:50] When Nothing Seems to Work, Think Mold! Jenn discussed how her family was residing around the Northern California farm fields where substantial power lines and other aspects that possibly have radiation affected her health. After about two years of being healthy and feeling great, Jenn's health started deteriorating again due to her mold exposure. If pets have similar symptoms of mold exposure, such as weight loss, it signifies unhealthy environmental changes. Mold exposure causes estrogen elevations, resulting in weight gain, breast tenderness, and acne. Exercise alone will not get you well in this day and age. [26:26] The Body’s Reaction to Stress When your body is experiencing a load of stress, you have to redefine what stress is. Hormesis is staying in this hormetic feeling, and a slight stress you adapt to is excellent. But the body will not adjust to a strenuous workout if your stress bucket is filled with different kinds of stress. Devices such as oura rings are great tools for creating consciousness and awareness of what is happening to our bodies. [37:25] The Root Cause of Acid Reflux & How to Get Rid of It! The most common correlation with acid reflux is an H. pylori bacteria overgrowth. Another common correlation with acid reflux is eating inflammatory foods like gluten and dairy or grains. People with a stressful lifestyle tend to have H. pylori bacteria. Keratin's purpose is to capture this oxygen free radical and protect against oxidative damage so the leaf is not destroyed. [43:51] What is the Most Accurate Test for H. pylori? As there are different lifestyles, there are also corresponding tests for testing H. pylori, such as stool samples and GI map tests. Most Vitamin Es are 95% Tocopherol, and 5% will be Tocotrienols. [47:12] The Best Tips For Supporting Liver Health The liver helps to filter things out from getting into the gut, such as toxins and other stuff. Since World War II, over 150,000 toxins have been introduced into our environment. Research shows us that our body encounters two pounds of toxins daily. Because humans live longer lifespans than animals and organisms, the evolution of changes in the body takes longer. Eat organic, minimize toxic exposure from food, manage skincare products, and keep environmental surroundings clean. AND MUCH MORE! Dr Rafael Gonzalez | Getting Rid of Senescent "Zombie Cells" With Fasting Strategies & The Science of Stem Cells & Natural Killer Cells KKP: 528
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Gonzalez. He obtained his Ph. D and BS from the University of California, Irvine where he studied, and his thesis addressed interactions of the immune system following spinal cord injury. In addition to his expertise in degenerative disorders involving the spinal cord, he has extensive experience in stem cell culture and biology from various sources. He has extensive knowledge in all aspects of cell biology and health where he teaches worldwide on regenerative medicine and maintaining immune health. This episode originally aired in August 2021. Dr. Gonzalez is responsible for the development of clinical stem cell applications for several disease/trauma states. He leads 4 different investigational new drug applications with patented stem cell technology. Additionally, he works on the clinical development of immune based therapies using natural killer cells. He had led a reference laboratory in testing various regenerative medicine products. Dr Gonzalez has been in the regenerative medicine field for more than 18 years and has several scientific publications. He has taught, spoken and led many conferences nationwide in the regenerative medicine sector. In this episode, Dr. Gonzalez reveals the inspiration behind his career in the stem cell space. We speak about why cell therapeutics is known as the wild west and the amount of FDA testing Dr. Gonzalez goes through to ensure safe products. Then, Dr. Gonzalez dives into what exactly stem cells are and how they can improve the natural processes that are already occurring in your body. Tune in as we talk about the importance of fasting, turning your life around after an autoimmune diagnosis, and who should consider getting cell therapeutics. [00:45] Why Dr. Gonzalez Started In The Stem Cell Space At college, Dr. Gonzalez studied embryonic stem cell research in spinal cord injuries. He loves to understand and study cells. Stem cells have properties that can heal the body. Plus, Dr. Gonzalez believes that stem cells can work against aging. In fact, stem cells are made naturally inside our body. [08:00] The Wild West of Cell Therapeutics & FDA Testing Any form of cell therapeutics is like the wild west. When you submit for the cells to have a Chemical Manufacturing Composition, it takes years. Gonzalez got his first clinical study approved in 2019 with the FDA. Essentially, the FDA boils down to the amount of testing. They are always ensuring that the product is safe. [13:05] How Stem Cells Can Improve The Natural Processes In Your Body Pompa and Dr. Gonzalez have been looking at using stem cells to control the inflammatory state and increase blood flow. We need increased blood flow because you’ll notice brain fog and a loss of energy without it. The natural property of our body is actually to increase blood flow any way that it can. The cells in your body have three fates: Natural cell turnover Necrosis Senescence When our cells stop dividing, they start occupying space and cause havoc. These cells can cause wrinkles and gray hair. There’s a cell type in our body that is a natural killer. These cells have three jobs: Remove a cancer cell Pick up viral load Wipe out senescence cells If you don’t have immune health, you essentially have nothing. Every single disease has an immune component to it. [22:10] The Critical Role Fasting Plays In Longevity Aging is an issue of cell growth. If you consume food incorrectly, your body has to process all that. When you keep dividing cells, you are causing senescence. One proven lifestyle change for longevity is fasting. Also, diet is important because you force your body to remove the toxins in your body. [26:00] Transform Your Health With ReHealth’s Cell Therapeutics Learn about ReHealth here: https://rehealth.com/ Register at the website, and they will contact you. The consultation is completely free. Depending on what you are looking to achieve will determine what type of therapeutics you should consider. Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy can help with the aging process. [30:30] How To Start Getting Your Life Back After An Autoimmune Diagnosis First and foremost, Dr. Gonzalez likes to discuss diet. If you are taking a bunch of meds, then you are not going to get better. Stem cells will give you a temporary effect unless you are doing all the key lifestyle components. Think about your goal. Gonzalez doesn’t help people who are smoking. Stem cells will simply be a Band-Aid. Overall, stop smoking, start fasting, and fix your diet. After Maggie overcame her stage 4 lung cancer, she and her husband Brad decided to make a documentary series to create an easy-to-understand way of showing people the truth about cancer and how to deal with it. Maggie is diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, a disease that has a one percent survival rate. This shocking turn of events began after they moved to Hong Kong, brimming with joy as they went through their busy lives. Doctors gave her six to eight months to live, and she resigned for a while but immediately got back to her feet, clinging to the one percent chance and believing that she would survive no matter what. She started fasting and reading books, discovering things about the metabolic theory of cancer. She dives deeper until one year later; Maggie is completely cancer free. She lived her best life and aimed to experience her given life to the fullest. She began exercising, changing her eating lifestyle, and learning to love and appreciate her body. Her mission now is to raise awareness of metabolic therapies and help other people thrive and live their best lives. In this episode, Brad and Maggie discuss overcoming, thriving, and winning your battle against cancer. We should not hate cancer because it is within everyone. Brad and Maggie share what you should know about tumor markers. Brad and Maggie reveal the truth about the war against cancer and why it is wrong. That is the most important thing to power up people with cancer. - In many cases, you have to fight against your oncologist, or in Maggie’s case, she completely ignores them, or she would tell them what she is doing. - Believe your body is a placebo. It's more important than keto, metabolic theory, than everything. - If you have somebody in your life who has a diagnosis like cancer or whatever it is, treat them as if they're healthy. - Fasting is Maggie’s current favorite therapy. [22:26] Don't Hate Cancer: Everyone Has It Inside Their Body - It was very important to realize that your cancer cells are your cells. It's not an invading virus, bacteria, fungus, or whatever. - Everybody's got a little bit of cancer inside them. - It's extremely rare for you to be cured of cancer and never to have a recurrence. - Don't panic about your first recurrence. Living with cancer is like living with a human body. [25:45] What You Need to Learn and Understand About Tumor Markers - It's different for every cancer, and lung cancer doesn't have an official tumour marker. - 90% of lung cancers are smokers. - It can be something that can help, but at the same time, don't put a ton of weight into it until you are sure. It is just a theory. - The problem with the war on cancer is that we're putting all our effort behind this one genetic mutation theory, and scientists aren't opening their minds to other ways of cancer forming. - There are so many types of cancer, not even one type of disease. - It is taking away the funding from things like metabolic therapy that teach you that could create a core cause of cancer. - You're never going to eradicate the disease. Devon & Peter From Kenetik | Boost Your Brain Power with the Magnificent Effects of Drinking Ketones, The Pros & Cons of Exogenous Ketones & More! KKP: 525
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Devon & Peter. Devon is Peter’s brother-in-law. Devon is a healthcare scientist and engineer, and Peter is a food and beverage entrepreneur. Together, they created Kenetik, a healthy ketone energy drink free of sugar and caffeine, with a real fruit flavor. Devon and Peter have known each other since their teenage years. They are hardworking, entrepreneurial, and very conscious of health and wellness. Additionally, they both have families to take care of. Dealing with their busy life, they think about how they can be efficient and excel in their work simultaneously. This is where they discover ketones, an unknown source of energy. They start experimenting and researching ketones. The problem is they found out that ketones in the market are expensive, taste bad, and are ineffective. From there, they began to initiate their study, find sources, get ingredients, and finally create their product called Ketenik, a high-quality exogenous ketone. In this episode, Devon and Peter talk about what exogenous ketones are and their benefits, and how drinking ketones boost your brain power. Devon and Peter discuss the different types of ketones and the difference between their products of other companies. Devon and Peter dive in about the help of ketones in dealing with radiation. Tune in as we chat about the exogenous ketones, the boost it brings to our body, their pros and cons, and the best time to drink Ketenik. [7:01] What are Exogenous Ketones and The Main Benefit It Produces? - Exogenous ketones are the molecules your body produces as it transforms fat into energy, and as a result, it is the final output. - One component of kenetik is beta-Hydroxybutyric acid. - Ketones are efficient, clean source of energy. - Ketones are very powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. - It promotes autophagy, Cellular regeneration, clearing out damaged mitochondria, etc. [18:14] Boost Your Brain Power with the Magnificent Effects of Drinking Ketones - Using Ketones will boost your energy and strengthen your focus. - Ketenik was increasing both alpha and gamma brainwaves by 18%. - It is similar to how athletes frequently talk about "being in the zone." [21:55] Exogenous Ketones: Advantages and Disadvantages You'll Need to Know - There are four Exogenous ketones: ketone salts, ketone esters, MCT oil, and butane dial. - Ketenik was made because most exogenous ketones do not taste good, are expensive, have a high mineral load, and have hard gastrointestinal side effects. - Ketone salts are not recommended for people with high blood pressure and malfunctioning kidneys. - Some of the salt packets out there also have caffeine in them. [29:36] The best time to use the kenetik exogenous ketone drinks - Normally, morning is the best time to drink kenetik. - Ketones can be used before a workout to have energy without elevating the heart rate. - When you must keep going at night, Ketenik energy can be drunk instead of coffee. - Drinking Ketenik can satiate hunger when fasting. - There is a study that shows you won't become intoxicated if you drink Ketenik first. [37:48] How Do Ketones Protect Us from Radiation and Magnetic Fields? - A study shows 60% reduction in chromosomal injury after exposure to gamma radiation when supplemented with ketones. - Consuming Ketones will help people with the APOE4 gene since they do not metabolize glucose but do metabolize ketones. - People with Alzheimer's can still use ketones for energy for their brains. [42:32] Using Ketones to Increase BHB and Handle Reactive Hypoglycemia - Increasing 0.8 Beta-hydroxybutyrate with 10 grams of Keteniks takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and it’ll be above 2.0. - It will depend on a person's body size and other factors. - It is interesting to see the result of using exogenous ketones to shift faster out of reactive hypoglycemia. Megan Hall | Artificial Sweeteners & Sugar Replacements on Keto, The Good The Bad The Ugly, Fasting for Gut Health & More! KKP: 524
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Megan Hall. She received her BS in Exercise Biology and MS in Nutritional Biology at UC Davis where her research focused on the effects of low carbohydrate and ketogenic diets on longevity and health span in mice. This episode originally aired in July 2021. She currently works as Scientific Director at Nourish Balance Thrive, an online health coaching company helping people achieve optimal health and peak performance. In her free time Megan enjoys reading, strength training, and hiking in the Colorado mountains. In this episode, Megan opens up the show by explaining why she wanted to learn more about nutritional and lifestyle interventions for optimal health. Even if you are making the necessary lifestyle changes, you can still be facing health issues. Megan explains why you may want to consider the gut as the reason you are having problems. Plus, Megan talks about how both physical and emotional stress can impact our gut health, and she gives tips on avoiding stress during mealtime. Tune in as we chat about overcoming acid reflux, the impact keto and fasting have on gut health, and whether or not you should give up drinking coffee. [00:35] Why Megan Got Started In The Health Space In college, Megan became interested in functional medicine. She wanted to know more about how lifestyle and nutrition play a role in chronic diseases. Plus, Megan was becoming frustrated with conventional medical school education. Instead of pharmaceutical education, Megan wanted to learn more about helping people implement impactful nutritional and lifestyle interventions. Now, Megan works at Nourish Balance Thrive. She helps people achieve optimal health and performance. [06:15] You Made Necessary Lifestyle Changes But Something Is Still Wrong Megan will help people who already have changed their diets, and their sleep is on point. However, there are still health issues. In this case, Megan says something is going on in the gut. Intestinal permeability or dysbiosis could be causing health issues. A stool test and targeted supplementation can fix the gut problem. There isn’t a perfect stool test, unfortunately. [09:40] Mental Emotional Stress Impacts Not Just Our Digestive Health, But Also Our Overall Health There are different ways that stress can impact the gut. Both physical and emotional stress can have consequences. The elevation of stress hormones can cause direct inflammation and lead to further gut-derived inflammation. Stress hormones can potentially even lead to food intolerance if gut permeability is involved. Also, stress can directly impact digestion and nutrient absorption. Our bodies are not designed to digest food while we are under stress. Plus, stress can lead to making poor food choices. Stress can also increase motility and fluid reabsorption in the gut. Take deep breaths before eating – it will bring your body back into the parasympathetic state. [16:05] Eating Before Bed: It Can Affect Digestion, Sleep, And Your Circadian Rhythm The body expects food to come during the day. Eating inherently increases our energy output and our body temperature. A drop in body temperature is one of the biggest signs or signals for our bodies to go to sleep. If you’re eating before bed, you’re not able to cool your body temperature down to increase melatonin. Sleep should be a time of rest and repair. If we are digesting while sleeping, it can cause issues. Plus, our gut microbes have their own circadian rhythms. [19:45] Megan Reveals Tips For Overcoming Acid Reflux Avoid really large meals. Some people have specific food triggers that cause acid reflux. Don’t eat close to bedtime. If you’re doing everything right, look at what's going on at the level of the gut to see if there's small intestinal dysbiosis. [21:35] How Ketosis Can Impact Your Gut Health It makes sense from an evolutionary lens that our guts evolved to have this metabolic flexibility to adapt to different food resources available at a given time. There is some recent evidence in animals that butyrate may help enhance sleep. Butyrate also seems to have some anti-inflammatory effects both locally in the gut and then also outside of the gut. [25:00] The Importance of Rotating Foods For Gut Diversity When gut cells use butyrate as a fuel, it's actually converted to ketone bodies. Ketones may help improve gut function and also be used as an alternative fuel source for the gut. Increase gut diversity by rotating which foods you eat. Plus, going in and out of ketosis will also help with gut diversity. [27:25] The Multiple Benefits That Fast

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Damon Sununtnasuk. He is the founder and CEO of the Sunt Group and Palmara Health which is previously named Nature Cure Labs. He has received numerous awards and recognitions in 2020. These awards include but are not limited to Company of the Year - Health Products & Services, Health & Wellness Nutrition Manufacturer of the Year, 10 Most Influential CEOs in 2022, and many more. Damon is also part of the board of directors of the University of Florida Alumni Association. Damon was born and raised in Florida where he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He had an opportunity to live overseas which is why he was able to take his Master of Business Administration at the University of Cambridge. After living overseas, Damon came back to the United States in the year 2015. During this time, he experienced various serendipity. One of them is not having a way of looking after his health. At the time, he was also surrounded by the technological industry, entrepreneurial spirit, and startups. Aside from that, his group of friends was also into MCTs for health purposes which triggered his curiosity. There was even a time when he discovered "oil pulling" which is the process of putting coconut oil in the mouth for 10 minutes before spitting it out to help remove dirt and help maintain the health of your teeth and gums. After these events, he began to research MCTs where he was able to discover the different therapeutic benefits of Medium-Chain Triglycerides. Together with his desire to improve his health and the will to help others, he was able to establish his company in 2015. Currently, they have 3 manufacturing facilities and 35 warehouses in the United States. In this episode, Damon discusses Medium-Chain Triglycerides, specifically Monolaurin, and their role and benefits to the body. He talks about different studies about it and briefly discusses how these supplements are collected and made. He also mentions the Monolaurin product that his company offers. [03:36] Medium Chain Triglycerides and its Benefits in the Body Plant fats contain medium chain triglycerides, coconut oil is a common example. 90% of the fats in coconut oil are saturated fats in which 50% of these saturated fats are MCTs. The health benefits of MCTs have been studied over the years. Some people put it on their coffee, protein shakes, food and etc. When MCTs have been converted in the body, it becomes monolaurin. The three main types of MCTs are Capric, Caprylic, and Lauric Acid. They bring benefits to the body by giving immune support and regulation as well as an aid in ketosis. Damon is focusing on Lauric Acid as based on their research, it helps in immune, digestive, and inflammatory support. [11:33] Everything About Monolaurin: Role and Benefits in the Body Damon read a study about the use of Monolaurin to fight off Giardia Lamblia, one of the most common causes of malnutrition. One of the studies Damon has read used Monolaurin to try cure Giardia Lamblia on animal subjects in which the cure rates reached over 90%. On the other hand, Damon has also read another study wherein Monolaurin was used on the animal subjects first before giving Giardia Lamblia. 60% of the test subjects didn't get sick. Research shows that Monolaurin helps in breaking down the protective envelope of the DNA and RNA viruses. Breast milk contains 6.5% of Monolaurin. Monolaurin can be found on coconut oil and palm oil. However, palm oil can only be harvested on sensitive environments which can affect natural habitats which is why coconut oil is more preferred. [20:21] The Different Ways You Can Take Monolaurin Before taking any supplements, you must contact a health professional in order to determine the right dosage for you to take. Introductory dose - Taking Monolaurin once a day, once every other day, and slowly increasing that up into the therapeutic dosage you're looking to get as an individual. Maintenance - In this way, monolaurin is taken daily to help maintain and regulate the healthy immune response. Some people also take Monolaurin when they feel sick or immunocompromised. The number one problem for people being unhealthy is the toxic food environment, such as processed and highly palatable foods. Most companies drive the reward centres of the consumers' brains, similar to a drug, which makes unhealthy products hard to avoid. [16:43] Calories In, Calories Out: Calories Matter Eating less and exercising more, creating the negative energy balance that causes weight loss, is the standard advice for people who are dieting. However, it is not the most effective. A hormonal condition may be the number one factor in metabolic health and ideal body weight. Artificial dichotomy has two camps: the calorie camp, or the energy balance camp, and the hormonal camp or the insulin camp. Doctors and patients should consider the difference between deprivation and listening to your body. [26:15] Do You Know There’s a Personal Fat Threshold? What Is It’s Purpose? The personal fat threshold has the ability to store fat as energy. Unhealthy fats are created when the subcutaneous fat can't store any more energy and goes into the viscera, and as the viscera creates abdominal fat, inflammation sets in. Americans have a much higher personal fat threshold than Asians. [36:53] The Continuous Glucose Monitor Is More Important Than You Think! Here’s Why Some individuals want to start monitoring and preventing diabetes, yet potential conflict is present as conferences are only available for those with Type-2 Diabetes. Patients are often seen with high levels of CGM in the morning and low levels of CGM in the afternoon, but some patients are the opposite. Paying attention to how the individual feels, getting them on a scale, and doing a body composition, is almost better than doing CGM. [41:12] Do You Have Nutrition Concerns? Lara Adler | The Root Cause of Weight Loss Resistance, How to Reduce Your Toxic Load & More! KKP: 521
Today, I am grateful to have here with me, Lara Adler, an Environmental Toxins Expert & Educator, a Certified Holistic Health Coach, and someone who is deeply passionate about changing the landscape of disease through addressing toxic exposures. This episode originally aired in November 2019. Lara Adler has been on a mission to help allied health professionals better support their clients & patients they serve by addressing exposures to environmental chemicals. She also guides her students on how to seamlessly integrate this topic into their practices and to leverage their education to distinguish themselves in their fields. Lara has worked with thousands of practitioners in over 26 countries in her online programs to help them understand the links between chemicals in our daily lives and their links to chronic health conditions like metabolic disorders, thyroid disease, fertility, and behavioral problems in children. Through her flagship course, Talking Toxins, Lara gives health professionals like nutritionists, health coaches, ND’s, RN’s and chiropractors, as well as healthy-minded consumers a deep education on where these toxic exposures are happening, along with actionable steps to take. The goal is action, not overwhelm. In this episode, Lara Adler starts by discussing how our cell metabolism can be causing resistance to weight loss. Genetics can play a significant role in this resistance, as well as the pharmaceuticals you may be taking. Then, Lara explains all the toxins and chemicals we are introducing to our lives without even knowing. These toxins can be detrimental to our health. However, the good news is there are ways to rid your body of these chemicals. The easiest way to get started with detox is by visiting the sauna every single day. Lara also reveals other ways to rid our bodies of toxins and why this process doesn’t need to be overwhelming. Tune in! Take my FREE toxicity quiz to determine your level of toxicity. However, Lara never thought she would pursue anything professionally in the space. After eight years in another career, several people suggested she become a health coach. Lara got certified as a health coach. All of her clients were coming to her for weight loss advice. Some of Lara’s clients had terrific results, whereas others had no results at all. What was she missing? Lara dove into the literature around resistance to weight loss. Lara learned about chemicals that mess with our metabolism and cause resistance weight loss. [14:15] Why You May Have Resistance to Weight Loss Genetic differences may predispose you to specific health conditions. Whereas, other people may not manifest these health conditions. For instance, two people who are smokers can have very different outcomes. [15:20] About the PPAR Pathway When PPAR gets activated, it changes the programming of our fat cells that lead toward weight gain. Our cells increase their capacity for fat storage. PPAR can also increase our number of fat cells. It happens at a cellular level completely absent from diet and exercise. This is referred to as chemically induced weight gain. Chemicals can make us fat. Antidepressants cause weight gain – it is a well-established side effect. [19:15] Fasting with Toxins We are burning fat while fasting. Normally, we are dumping our toxins into our fat. When we start losing weight rapidly, the toxins are dumped into our bloodstream. Our liver has to try and keep up with this load. Unless your liver is working perfectly, your liver can still be overloaded. People who have undergone rapid weight loss have shown a thousandfold increase of toxins flooding their systems. People often will get so sick that their hair even falls out. We want to be careful when we are fasting or losing weight. Toxins will desperately search for fat. Your metabolism cannot get rid of toxins – they get recycled back into the system. The body will rebound by adding fat to house the toxins. [22:15] Ways to Support the Liver Anything that supports the liver will be your friend on this journey. Lara’s goal is to dial back the exposure and amp up what our body is getting rid of. We can do this by supporting the liver. Take activated charcoal – you need to know how to take a binder because it is a whole process. Sweat every day if you can in a sauna. Law enforcement is using sweat patches to see whether or not there are narcotics in someone’s system. Sweat works! Some toxins will exit through sweat rather than any other pathway. You can measure chemicals in urine,

[04:50] The Body’s Self-Healing Factor The human body will solve its problems unless an obstacle is blocking the way towards healing. Finding out what that obstacle is is the key to overcoming certain health issues. Once these obstacles are taken away, everything becomes much easier for an individual. These interferences aren’t easy to identify or solve, which is why it is up to everybody to identify what they are. [06:28] The Flaws of Popular Weight Loss Methods Many influencers, nutritionists, and dieticians claim that energy balance is the only thing you’ll need to lose body fat. Calories in and out are a big deal; however, both can change. This concept is entirely dependent on the body not changing its energy usage all day which makes it very flawed. The calorie concept is deceptive because it works short-term for weight loss but not fat loss. There is a massive difference between these two. [12:00] The Pros and Cons of the Keto Diet Two camps are relevant to this diet. The first one is the people who preach that it’s a revolution, and the other is the ones who oppose it due to their belief in its health risks. There is a lot of misconception that still exists about the Keto Diet. One of the most anti-inflammatory interventions available is the Ketogenic Diet. [24:47] What the Mitochondria Does When You Are Stressed There are three different types of stress: Mental and Emotional Stress, Physical Stress, and Chemical Stress. Being under any of these stresses will cause the Mitochondria to generate a ton of oxidative stress. The only thing greater than the human body’s capability to handle stress is how far you can push it until it eventually fails. Oxidative stress due to the overworking of the Mitochondria will cause certain problems in the human body. [40:44] Things You Must Consider Before Trying Certain Diets There are many moving parts in the human body, making a perfect diet unrealistic. Doing certain diets and fasting is fine; however, you must consider your status and other options first. Stress, Immunocompromised bodies, your home’s condition, and most importantly, your current health condition are some of the few things you need to be mindful of before starting a diet that will massively affect your body. It’s always a matter of identifying the big stressors in your life. AND MUCH MORE! The Modern American Lifestyle is Not Conducive to Wellness When comparing our bodies to people living in the 1970s, we notice a remarkable increase in obesity and a decline in overall health. Today, people experience metabolic disease and unhealthy insulin resistance at alarming rates. Since the fifties, conventional westernized food has become highly processed, hyper-palatable food full of ingredients our body doesn't know how to process. Seed oils and high fructose corn syrup are cheap and convenient for manufacturers, but they are highly damaging to our bodies, and we end up not getting the nutrients we need. Ultimately, excessive consumption of processed food leads to inflammation, oxidative stress, insulin resistance, and metabolic disease. Poor Sleep and Movement Habits Create a Vicious Cycle of Stress In the past few years, modern Americans have experienced significant lifestyle changes in movement and sleep. To stay healthy, we need to move and leave our homes, but nowadays, it is possible to have everything delivered and become wholly isolated and sedentary. People stay up all night and sleep all day. They take drugs to help them wake up and also to help them sleep. This problem became more severe during the pandemic, and many Americans gained over 25 pounds. When people fail to manage their stress healthily, they only worsen things. Habits such as eating while standing and failing to connect with nature also perpetuate problems with sleep and energy levels. Waking when the sun rises, going to bed when it's dark out, and eating in alignment with circadian biology are the best practices to improve sleep and overall quality of life. Mapping Your Hormonal Cycle to Optimize Your Health Choices Women in their peak fertile years may be inclined to cruise along without paying attention to their cycle, but careful tracking is one of the best ways to optimize health. For example, keeping up with the progesterone-dominated segments of your cycle will help you understand when your body needs a break. Progesterone is like the sleepy mellow sister of estrogen, which may affect your workouts, energy, and cravings. About five to seven days before your menstrual cycle, you may need to watch your food intake better. Instead of pushing your body to do OrangeTheory or CrossFit six to seven days a week, this is a better time to focus on weight training, yoga, and pilates. Knowing when to rest and eat healthy foods during your cycle will reduce cravings, sleep problems, and other issues. Make Protein A Top Priority to Retain Muscles and Improve Insulin Sensitivity Besides avoiding highly processed foods, Thurlow recommends focusing on protein. Both men and women build the bulk of their lean muscle mass in their twenties and thirties. By forty, we begin to lose not only muscle mass but muscle strength as well. As we age, adipose tissue begins replacing our muscles, leading to insulin sensitivity. Protein helps to stimulate muscle protein synthesis, and hitting an adequate amount of protein is critically important for maintaining metabolic health. To maximize the effects of good nutrition, go for a ten to fifteen-minute walk after every meal because this will help your muscles absorb and retain glucose, which helps with insulin sensitivity. Recognizing and Adapting to Premenopausal Symptoms To conceptualize perimenopause, think of it as a sort of reverse puberty. When women first get their period, they usually do not menstruate regularly right away. Similarly, perimenopause may cause your cycle to become more i

Order Keto Flex: http://www.ketoflexbook.com -------------------------------------------------------- The American Heart Association Is A Fake News Organization In 1948, the American Heart Association decided to accept outside funding; their first benefactor gave them a whopping $1.7 million. Sadly, the American Heart Association has taken over the conversation around nutrition. Since 1948, they have been pumping out many publications that seem like “science,” but it is complete propaganda. Americans are eating more seed oils, and it’s making us obese. We are going backward in terms of our ability to make people healthy. Read Dr. Cate’s blog on the subject! Cholesterol Is Good, The American Heart Association is Bad: https://drcate.com/why-cholesterol-is-good/ The Problems With Industrial Seed Oils Seed oils have a lot of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). They biochemically are easily attacked by oxygen, and they become toxic. Foods cooked in seed oils, like french fries, have some of the same toxins you inhale when you inhale cigarette smoke. For instance, both french fries and cigarettes have the same amount of crotonaldehyde. There are eight seed oils that you should avoid called The Hateful Eight: Canola Corn Cottonseed Soy Sunflower Safflower Grapeseed Rice bran Learn more about The Hateful Eight on Dr. Cate’s Website! The Hateful Eight: Enemy Fats That Destroy Your Health: https://drcate.com/the-hateful-eight-enemy-fats-that-destroy-your-health/ Differences Between Refined and Unrefined Peanut Oil Peanut oil has a good amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids in it. However, it has been cultivated specifically for use as food. The cultivation of an oil seed makes it more oily. Olives have become more oily over time; the same goes for peanuts. You don’t need to treat peanuts with harsh chemicals to extract oil. Dr. Cate recommends unrefined peanut oil. There are a lot of antioxidants in there that stabilize the PUFAs during cooking. Peanut oil that is refined is okay because it’s better than seed oils; however, it doesn’t have much nutrition, and it’s not as heat stable. If Dr. Cate had to recommend one cooking method, it would be to cook your food in tallow. Vegetable Oils Are Worse Than Smoking Cigarettes The toxicity begins and ends with the beginning and end of your cigarette. Vegetable oils will end up in your body fat; this adds a whole other layer of metabolic impacts beyond the direct toxic effects. Vegetable oils are worse than sugar too. Sugar and high fructose corn syrup are full of empty calories. When you break down sugar, your body can’t tell where the molecules come from. Those empty calories will turn into normal body fat. Humans have carried normal body fat around for a long time. Sadly, many people walk around with 40% PUFAs in their body fat. How Can You Avoid Seed Oils While Eating Out? Ask them to cook your food in natural butter, not butter oil. Ask them for real olive oil if they don’t have real butter. If they don’t have butter or olive oil, they can cook your food using a different method, like steaming. Then, it would help if you took out the carbs. You can get a taco salad at Taco Bell without the shell. The shell has loads of vegetable oils in them. When you go to Taco Bell for salad, you can top it with meat, cheese, and avocado. Ben will tell the waiter that he is allergic to vegetable oils so that the restaurant staff will take the request seriously. Questions and Answers How can we release the PUFAs from stored fats in our bodies? The more you burn your body fat, the more it will happen. Fasting will accelerate the process. Stop snacking between meals and eat foods that give you sustainable energy. What about essential oils? Traditional nuts and fruits have good fatty acid profiles. Essential oils won’t get absorbed through the bloodstream if you use them on your skin. How long will it take omega-3 to leave the body? It will be stored in your body fat for around 18 months. This time could be longer, depending on your body fat. [06:50] A

[01:04] Debunking The Myths In Vitamin E You Might Actually Believe Vitamin E is found in vegetable oil as they protect the oil from going rancid. Vegetable oils are polyunsaturated fats. They have a lot of double bonds, and they’re very unstable. DHA and EPA are even more unsaturated than vegetables. [04:50] What Happens When Vegetable Oil Enters The Cell Wall of Your 38 Trillion Cells? Lipoprotein particle has one or two proteins that carry the oil, travels through the bloodstream, and eventually ends up under trillions of cells. About 80% of the cell wall is fat, a rudimentary and primitive way of understanding aging. Greater than 90% of all the antioxidants on the cell wall are vitamin E molecules, tocotrienol. Less than 10% of them are Co-Q 10, which your body makes, Lycopene and Beta-keratin. Four Major Food Groups are Fat, Protein, Carbohydrate, and Nucleic Acid. [12:27] Watch Out! Keep Your Body Healthy From Fats and Cholesterol Vast amounts of fatty acid are not healthy for the body. The cholesterol is made by our body and is in the cell to give flexibility to the cell, so it is not too rigid or stiff. One in every 10,000 oxygen becomes radicalized. It had two very active electrons under oxygen, with a high potential energy. [22:28] Increase Your Knowledge Of Various Antioxidants Facts Worth Knowing The body makes very few endogenous antioxidants, including Co-Q 10, Glutathione, and Estrogen. Plants have tens of thousands of antioxidants; the most common ones the plant makes are polyphenols. Supplemental Co-Q 10 is hard to absorb by the body and will only stay in the blood. Keratin’s purpose is to capture this oxygen free radical and protect against oxidative damage, so the leaf is not destroyed. [37:28] What Are The Various Types of Vitamin E You Must Look Out For? Tocopherol and Tocotrienol are the two major forms of Vitamin E. Most Vitamin Es are 95% Tocopherol, and 5% will be Tocotrienols. Rice, palm oil, and the annatto plant are common products containing Tocotrienols. Plants produce keratin to preserve foliage colour. [42:12] Learn About The Benefits And Beauty That The Annatto Plant Offers The annatto plant doesn’t contain tocopherol, which hinders the function of tocotrienol. It has 90% delta-tocotrienol and 10% gamma-tocotrienol. Annatto produces tocotrienol to preserve the colour of the plant longer. Protecting the colour is critical for the plant to attract birds to swallow its seed and help maintain the lifecycle. AND MUCH MORE! Austin Cavelli | Troubleshooting The Carnivore Diet, How to do Carnivore RIGHT so Your Body Can Heal KKP: 515
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Austin Cavelli. She helps people optimize their health by burning fat for fuel and reducing years of underlying inflammation from the standard American diet. Her approach focuses on quality nutrition by way of nutrient-dense animal products. This episode originally aired in August 2021. Austin is a board-certified, nationally accredited physician assistant. I have treated thousands of patients with acute and chronic inflammatory diseases, including various autoimmune conditions. In addition, Austin has worked for several years in research studying addiction and the aging brain. Austin's background in research has taught her how to conduct experiments, a skill that has proven extremely useful in helping clients find what works specifically for them. In 2014, Austin earned my Master of Science degree from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences in NYC. Prior, Austin received her bachelor's degree in psychobiology from Binghamton University. In this episode, Austin opens the show by explaining why she started following a carnivore diet. After years and years of digestive issues, the carnivore diet finally put Austin on the track to a healthy life. Austin explains what antinutrients are and why they could be causing some of your health symptoms. We talk about common myths like not eating fiber will cause constipation and the alleged link between red meat and cancer. [02:20] Why Austin Decided To Follow A Carnivore Diet Austin struggled mainly with digestive issues for most of her life. She suffered from chronic constipation and chronic pains with food. So, Austin tried a paleo diet and cut out diary. Eventually, Austin noticed that when she cut out certain vegetables, her digestion was getting better. Then, she realized more fats would make her feel better. It wasn’t until Austin went carnivore and cut out fiber that made her digestive issues go away. [06:30] Antinutrients Could Be The Reason For Your Symptoms Joint pain is a big issue. Antinutrients can also cause chronic constipation. Also, antinutrients can be hindering your mental clarity and sleep. Lastly, antinutrients may be causing low energy levels. Switching to carnivore can vastly improve mental clarity, sleep, energy, digestion, and joint pain. [08:35] Why You May Want To Ditch The Antinutrients Take away antinutrients to see if your health improves. Antinutrients will affect every person differently. The gut will be most affected by antinutrients. In fact, they can even cause leaky gut. First, you have to clean the gut before you introduce probiotics. If you add probiotics to an unhealthy gut, then it’s not going to help. Remove the antinutrients in order to heal the gut temporarily. [14:15] Do You Need Fiber To Have Regular Bowel Movements? People think that going on a carnivore diet will result in constipation. Other people say that the carnivore diet will result in explosive diarrhea. When switching to carnivore, the increased amount of fat could result in diarrhea. So, go heavy on protein instead of fat. Liquid fats will run right through you. [16:30] Why You Shouldn’t Drink Water When You Are Eating Your Meals When you are eating a carnivore diet, you already have a lot of protein which requires stomach acid to break it down. To maximize stomach acid, prevent water 30 minutes before and after a meal. It takes our body more effort to digest cold water. Instead, drink room temperature water. When eating, it is best not to just stress the body and make sure that you can focus on the digestion of food. [17:45] Electrolytes Are Critical When Following A Carnivore Diet Austin is a minimalist when it comes to supplements. If you are going to eat organs, then eat the actual organs. Supplements are processed, so it’s time to eliminate those from your diet when possible. If you are starting a carnivore diet, then you need more electrolytes. Take a magnesium supplement; it’s not readily available in our soil anymore. Austin recommends Pure Encapsulations: https://www.pureencapsulations.com/ [22:00] Why You Should Eat Organ Meat And How To Make It Taste Good Liver is the most bang for your buck. The beef heart is very mild. Another organ that is easy on flavor is the beef tongue. Slow cooking the beef tongue will make it easy to consume

What and how much we eat affects our entire constitution and overall health. The more you learn, the more you want to share what you’ve learned to help others. Melanie started trying the Paleo diet after she read Robb Wolf’s The Paleo Solution: The Original Human Diet. [11:05] Getting Heavy Metal Poisoning from Fish People don’t realize and tend to underestimate how much mercury there is in the fish you eat. Melanie thinks that swordfish should be made illegal to be sold in restaurants due to the amount of mercury you can contract from it. Eat fish in moderation to avoid heavy metal poisoning. You can get mercury poisoning not only from fish but from silver tooth fillings as well. Symptoms of this poisoning include fatigue, anemia, memory loss, anxiety, hot flashes, and insomnia. [25:25] What Happens When Toxins Get into the Body? Our bodies can detoxify on their own; however, we are not accustomed to the overwhelming toxic burden that we have nowadays. Every day toxins such as heavy metals in the food we eat, pesticides, skincare products, and makeup aren’t regulated, which is why we consume more than we should. An abundance of certain compounds in makeup can cause you to gain weight and make it hard to lose it. Not to mention carcinogens. The solution to pollution is dilution. There are also studies about obesogens that states that they may affect insulin levels as well. [39:05] The Most Common Themes in Interviews Most people are all about bio-individuality: different diets and things work for different people. Most of them seem to be focused on fasting as well, which is quite popular at the moment. Blood sugar control is a common theme since many people have a lot of trouble dealing with it. There is no cookie-cutter approach to anything. Different strokes work for different folks. A specific diet can’t work for literally everyone. It’s not as simple as eating less food and moving your body, and you immediately get results. Outcomes depend on every person. AND MUCH MORE! [00:20] How Rachel Became One of The Top Health & Fitness Influencers In The World Growing up, Rachel could literally eat whatever she wanted and whenever she wanted to eat. Rachel decided to go to Baylor University for Nutrition Science and Dietetics. At college, Rachel started weightlifting, fitness competitions, and bodybuilding. She was known as someone who could maintain this incredible physique for so long. Fitness was an outlet for Rachel to escape her trauma. [04:20] Rachel Was Close To Getting Her Entire Large Intestine Cut Out Rachel suffered from a lot of chronic gut issues. She realized that bodybuilding wasn’t healthy; she was miserable on the inside. During her bodybuilding days, Rachel had hormonal imbalances, her thyroid took a massive hit, she was depressed, and she had anxiety. Rachel’s gut issues were severe – whenever Rachel ate, she had massive pain. The gastroenterologist wanted to cut out her large intestine. Something in Rachel’s gut told her not to do the surgery. Instead, she went down the road of functional medicine. [15:40] A Guide To Increasing Diversity In Your Gut Food is a great way to increase diversity in your gut. Sugar also leads to obesity which will wreak havoc on our gut microbiome. Vegetable oils They create massive inflammation throughout our entire body. We can metabolize sugar, but we can’t metabolize these seed oils. Medications (antibiotics, antacids, PPIs, and birth control) Birth control can deplete the body of key micronutrients. It can wreak havoc in our gut microbiome not only because of depleting the nutrients, but it can cause an imbalance of bacteria. Most people have too much stomach acid, and we overuse antacids. [3:33] Dr Mindy’s Perspective on Why Healthcare is Broken Dr Mindy describes the current healthcare system as identifying the symptoms, creating a diagnosis, and then prescribing a pill She argues that it doesn’t work for everyone because human hormones are always around the clock 24/7 If a women patient goes to a doctor, it is crucial to identify the root cause first before issuing a medication instead of providing a generalized solution Dr Mindy believes that a woman’s menstrual cycle should be factored into the overall healthcare Women’s mood shifts before and during their menstrual cycle are being villainized [12:44] Why Are We Sick? The Main Themes That Dr Mindy Discovered Our food intake and modern toxicity are some of the reasons why we are sick Dr Mindy doubles down that evolutionary mismatch, especially among women, is one of the main culprits of why we are sick Stress-eating work against our hormonal cycle The thrifty-gene hypothesis proposes that humans who were able to survive long periods without food were due to the thrifty gene that allowed them to move into ketosis at a much quicker rate [17:03] We Got The Diet Culture Wrong! Here’s Why Dr Mindy strongly believes that the notion that there’s one diet to keep you healthy or lose weight is erroneous. Metabolic switching helps the body to get the required energy it needs depending on the situation; the key is the constant in and out People always look for “absolutes” in healthcare, but the body doesn’t respond well to those absolutes [30:23] What Happened to Dr Mindy When She Started Fasting? Dr Mindy discovered that cycling in and out of fasting assisted her in alleviating her menopausal symptoms Identifying the quirks of hormones allowed Dr Mindy to identify the diet she needs Progesterone needs more glucose. If you want to maximize estrogen, keep your blood sugar down If you want to have a healthy ovulation, work on the microbiome and the liver, and you don’t want to go deep into ketosis Plan your diet in various phases, power phase, manifestation phase, and nurture phase [37:38] We Have a Hormonal Literacy Problem! How Do We Fix It? Dr Mindy spoke to thousands of doctors and found out that only a handful of them understood the underlying facets of hormones in our bodies She believes that we have a hormonal literacy problem, and women are the most affected as an imbalance in their hormonal cycle is being villainized Teenage girls should be taught early on about the emotional, physical, and chemical stress The language of hormones should be brought back because it helps control our mood, energy, and sleep. It helps control how we gain and lose weight. Understanding hormones means understanding the ins and outs of the body [50:58] Do You Have an Eating Disorder? But even in this condition, Jay has always been interested in fitness and nutrition. When he got older, Jay engaged to different sports that helped him on his weight journey. However, he still struggled with his mind as he is anxious about how his body looks. Nonetheless, he became a personal trainer at 17, and since then, Jay has begun to find the path to where he belongs. The Problem is You, Not the Food There's a lot of drug abuse on the scene in bodybuilding. There's not a lot of alcohol consumption, but there's a lot of prescription and recreational drug use. Your mindset around the food is the real issue, not the food itself. Food is more like fuel and a resource to nourish and do what your body wants. Instead of creating a short-term sustainable diet, make a lifestyle that you are comfortable maintaining forever. [17:00] The Wrong Beliefs in Losing Weight That You Should Avoid You don’t need to starve yourself. It's a myth that there's good versus bad food. What we are talking about is real food, not with those different chemicals. Counting macros and calories, it's not sustainable. Developed a lifestyle where you understand what food looks like and what it will do when you eat it. People just want to be told what to do instead of learning what to do. [25:50] What is The Value of Having the Right Mindset in Losing Weight? This has nothing to do with the food, and nothing to do with being overweight. The weight loss was a side effect. It’s all about the brain and the mind. The book is about psychological reasons I learned working with clients and myself over time. It was always the story, the mindset, or the belief systems that the client had psychologically that were the issue. Jay uses fitness and nutrition to get people into my world, and then he unpacks the real reasons why they're there. It will be useless to stay with the same beliefs you had before Jay. [32:16] Increase Your Thermostat: Love Yourself and Maintain Your Fitness We have a lot of limiting beliefs, and we have a lot of self-doubts that hold us back. Sometimes, giving a compliment to someone who is not in the right frame of mind can affect them negatively. It all starts with the psychology of what you believe you deserve. Jay’s favorite saying is that you'll never be, do or have more than you believe you deserve. [34:20] How Can You Begin Your Lifelong Journey Towards a Healthy Lifestyle? First, Jay helps you to recognize the negative language you are using and change it. Then he will talk about the belief system of who you believe you are. Jay won't let you lie to yourself, but he won't be cruel. He will inform you in a kind manner. If you're using the word “try”, start telling yourself, " I will do what's required. If you'll change your language, it will change your life. If you continually break promises to yourself, that will create a la
