[11:07] Decoding the Significance of mTOR: A Key Player in Health and Longevity · mTOR, a crucial biological molecule, regulates cell growth and repair based on nutrient availability. · mTOR is linked to numerous chronic diseases and is pivotal in determining longevity and aging. · Balancing mTOR activation and deactivation is crucial for overall health. Modern civilization and food availability have disrupted this balance, with mTOR often remaining constantly active. · Excessive mTOR activation, primarily due to frequent carbohydrate consumption, is associated with chronic diseases and accelerated aging. · Understanding mTOR's role offers insights into preventing chronic diseases and promoting longevity through lifestyle and dietary choices. [21:39] Rethinking Weight Loss: Why Conventional Approaches Aren't Working · The traditional "eat less and exercise more" approach is ineffective in combating weight gain. · Weight gain is primarily driven by the hormone insulin, not just the total calorie intake. · Insulin signals the body to store fat, so certain macronutrients like carbohydrates and glucose play a significant role in fat storage. · Reducing calories from these specific macronutrients, rather than simply reducing overall calorie intake, can be more effective in promoting weight loss. [33:42] The Impact of Insulin and Other Diabetes Drugs on Longevity · High insulin levels, primarily caused by dietary factors, contribute to various chronic diseases and health risks. · While insulin is life-saving for people with type one diabetes during acute episodes, it has long-term adverse effects related to chronic diseases like cancer, heart attack, and Alzheimer's disease. · The manipulation of glucose levels in the body through certain drugs such as Metformin, Rapamycin, and Acarbose highlights their potential for impacting longevity and preventing chronic diseases. However, further research is needed to fully understand their mechanisms and effects on humans. [43:58] Reevaluating the Relationship Between Dietary Fat and Cardiovascular Disease · Blood cholesterol's role in heart attack risk is relatively small compared to factors like type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, metabolic disease, and smoking. · Stati

After Paul’s wife tried the water, it changed her whole life. Within a few months, her menstrual cycle changed, and she was no longer anemic. [10:55] Things You Need To Know About Hydrogen Hydrogen is number one on the periodic table. It’s a gas that should be produced in your gut. Your body is designed to produce hydrogen gas in your gut when you ferment or digest food. Hydrogen will reduce oxidation. Plus, it gives direction to over 200 biomolecules that have been identified in the body. Every system in the human body is regulated by hydrogen [20:55] How Hydrogen Can Play A Role In Helping Us Optimize Our Glucose Levels Giving hydrogen water to individuals with diabetes will get their blood glucose levels back to normal. Your body puts cholesterol in your veins. When we have too much oxidative stress in our body, our veins will become less elastic. Your body will put cholesterol into the veins where the walls are weak. Hydrogen is able to change oxidative stress and inflammation. Check out Hydrogen Studies: https://www.hydrogenstudies.com/ [28:55] Hydrogen And The Human Body: Why It Matters You are supposed to have hydrogen in the human body to begin with. We should be creating 10 to 12 liters of hydrogen gas per day. You were designed to have a hydrogen generator in your gut. When you take in pesticides, then you're combating your gut function. So, you need the water to be with you daily. Chemicals get into our system; they destroy us as human beings. It all starts with our gut. [33:20] Hydrogen: An Option In Human Disease Treatment Oxidative stress and inflammation is the leading cause of disease. As we convert oxygen into fuel, we create oxygen radicals. Well, our antioxidant system is designed to combat that and keep oxidation in a normal range. When your oxidation is rising, you will have what we call oxidation stress. Oxidation is natural, whereas oxidative stress is unnatural. If you want to live a long time, you have to have a healthy gut. [42:55] How Hydrogen Water Can Support People With Autism Because of gut issues, people with autism are not producing ghrelin secretions. Ghrelin secretions happen either in the stomach or the gastrointestinal tract. When the gut is damaged or not functioning, you don't

Dr Sean O'Mara | 5 Sneaky Ways Your Body Stores Visceral Fat & How to Get Rid of Stubborn Belly Fat For Good! KKP: 658

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Sean O'Mara. He is the world's leading health and performance-optimizing physician, providing individuals with safe and natural strategies to improve the human body and performance. Dr. O’Mara grew up in an average family. He went to public schools and worked to save enough money for college. He studied law enforcement first and then went on to study law. However, he still has a passion for science and medicine, leading him to medical school. At the age of 45, he is overweight. And on top of that, he is suffering from numerous medical conditions. One of his patients told him about the paleo diet, which he tried, and soon found out that not only did he lose weight, but his health also got better. Furious by realizing that conventional medicine cares for people and propagates diseases to make money, Dr.O’Mara decided to be a researcher to know why his lifestyle change positively impacts disease. Dr. O’Mara’s passion is optimizing human beings by helping individuals eliminate their visceral fat and reap a healthier and better life. In this episode, Dr.O’Mara talks about the paleo and ketogenic diet and why you should have a zero-carbohydrate diet. He also discusses what visceral fat is, the contributors that led to a higher amount of this fat, and how you could eliminate it. He also mentions how you can have a healthy microbiome and why you should focus on restoring your metabolic health and microbiome. Tune in as we chat about the visceral fat, microbiome, carbohydrates, carnivore diet, and more! [21:29] Paleo To Ketogenic Diet: The Power Of Zero-Carbohydrate Diet - Dr.O’Mara started his health journey with a low-carb paleo diet. But when he changed to a ketogenic diet, his performance improved more. - Dr.O’Mara encourages people to try the keto diet. - He maintained a carnivore diet during his military deployment and realized he had significantly improved. - Every time Dr.O’Mara tries to go back and have some carbohydrates, he would have joint and back pains. - Fermenting vegetables for an extended period of time eliminates their carbohydrates, making it possible to still eat vegetables. [34:47] Want To Have a Healthy Microbiome? Have A Diverse Diet - A healthy microbiome is a diverse one. - It is human behavior to collect as many beneficial microbes as possible. - Dr.O’Mara said that it's nice when you are passionate about the microbiome and are trying very hard to optimize it and share its advantages with your clients. - As you grow older, you grow worse and become more diseased and less capable. But this is only the case because chronic diseases are around, and we have lost our insights into how we should be living. [43:21] The Biomarker Visceral Fat: What It Is And How It Affects Our Body Performance - Right below the skin is this fat depo called subcutaneous fat. It is separated into two components: superficial subcutaneous fat and deep subcutaneous fat. - Deep subcutaneous fat releases inflammatory molecules very similar to visceral fat. It is inflammatory in nature, and it's aligned with chronic disease and a higher amount of cardiovascular disease. - Superficial subcutaneous fat does not secrete these inflammatory molecules. It secretes a fascinating molecule called adiponectin; the more you have it, the lower your risk for cardiovascular disease. - There's a lot of complexity in how the body decides and reacts to the lifestyle of a particular species, but you sure want to avoid having visceral fat and deep subcutaneous fat. - Start with your diet and eating healthy, and then build on the success of a healthy diet with other healthy lifestyle choices. [1:16:41] What are the five most common contributors to visceral fat? - The first biggest contributor to visceral fat is processed carbohydrates, the simple sugars that contribute significantly to visceral fat deposition, likely through the role of a microbiome. - Stress in our lives has a very harmful effect on the hormone cortisol, with deposition and acceleration of visceral fat. - Alcohol has a negative contribution through metabolism and its effect on the liver, which we see accumulation of visceral fat. - People who have sleeping problems can elevate their visceral fat. - Lastly, too much durational exercise, such as distance running or cycling, can accumulate visceral fat. TJ Robinson | There’s A Lot of Fraud In The Olive Oil Industry, Tips For Buying Olive Oil In A Grocery Store KKP: 657

Today, I am blessed to have here with me for a second time T.J. Robinson, aka "The Olive Oil Hunter." He is one of the world's most respected authorities on all matters of olive oil. Known for his "platinum palate," he is one of the few Americans invited to serve as a judge in prestigious Italian olive oil tasting competitions. These days he is dedicated to importing rare fresh-pressed olive oil, the most flavorful and healthiest extra virgin olive oil on the planet, until now virtually impossible to obtain year-round in the U.S. All his oils are independently lab tested and certified for 100% purity. T.J. serves as a personal "olive oil sommelier," traveling the world, following the sun, seeking out only the best-tasting oils and acquiring them for his Club members right during the olive harvest, as the olive presses are running, when the oils are miraculously flavorful —like no other olive oil you can find in the U.S. In this episode, T.J. talks about the rampant fraud in the olive oil industry. Unfortunately, many companies are cutting their "extra-virgin olive oil" with dangerous and inflammatory seed oils. It can be hard to spot which olive oils are legit and which ones lie to the consumer. T.J. Robinson explains how to spot a fraudulent oil and what to look for when you're at the grocery store. Lucky for us, T.J. is letting Keto Kamp listeners try his $39 olive oil for just $1. You can get that deal here: http://www.getfresh37.com/. [01:00] There’s A Lot of Fraud In The Olive Oil Industry: What You Need To Know The mafia has learned that instead of dealing with illegal drugs, they can take olive oil and do things to it. People use substandard olive oil and add a little bit of decent quality olive oil to it enough to pass a lab test. Fraud in the olive oil industry has been happening for a really long time. During a study, 70% of olive oils came back as not meeting the quality standards of extra-virgin. Most Americans don't know what great olive oil tastes like. [07:40] Olive Oils Are Being Cut With Inflammatory Oils Like Canola Oil You have to be very careful when you buy an olive oil blend. Make sure to read labels in the grocery store very carefully. Olive oil can be in a fancy bottle, with a fancy label and a high price tag. However, look at the back, and you might see that it’s actually a blend. It could be a blend of soybean oil or sunflower oil, but it's being sold as extra virgin olive oil. More often than not, it's a lower grade of oil that's being sold as an extra virgin oil. [10:10] Tips For Buying Olive Oil In A Grocery Store Always look for olive oil in dark glass; the dark glass helps protect the oil. Glass bottles are preferable. You also want to look for a harvest date on the olive oil bottle. Most bottles won’t have a harvest date on them. Look for oils that have a third-party certification. [15:50] How A Professional Taster Would Examine Olive Oil Quality A professional taster would taste out of small blue glass cups. Blue disguises the color of the olive oil. Color is not an indicator of quality. Many fraudulent olive oils will be cut with seed oils, but also add chlorophyll to adjust the color. Read Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JNYNHHW/benazadi-20 [34:40] You Can Get A $39 Bottle of Olive Oil For Only $1 The goal of T.J.’s club is to educate American consumers. He wants to help small farmers around the world as well. Taste T.J.’s bottle of olive oil for only $1. There's a myth that you cannot cook with olive oil; that's completely false. You want to use high-quality olive oil because of the antioxidants and the polyphenols. Get the bottle here: http://www.getfresh37.com/ [46:50] There’s No Commitment: Try T.J.’s Olive Oil Today There's no commitment for ongoing membership. You have several weeks to cancel before you get your next shipment. Every quarter, T.J. will buy extra cases, and he shares those cases with potential club members. A good percentage of people who get the olive oil will convert to being members. T.J. says you can get three bottles of oil at a price of $139. Most people use about a bottle a month. 1 tablespoon per meal will complete

[07:20] Being More Preventative When It Comes To Covid We can improve our immune function and make it more robust and more reactive when it needs to be. At the start of the pandemic, there was a lot of skepticism around vitamin D and zinc. Plus, there was a lot of skepticism around supplements, food, and the impact of nutrition. Now, it seems to be much more readily accepted in the conventional medical community. [17:30] Dual-Fuel Burning: What It Means and How To Achieve It Ketones have been around for as long as we've been around as humans. We can burn two different types of fuel: ketones and glucose. It protects our body from essentially eating our muscles and ourselves to death if we go two or three days without food. Dual-fuel gives us the ability to go for long periods of time without food. We're carrying our own little refrigerator of food that we can access at any point. Dual-fuel keeps our mood stable. [21:00] It’s Incredible That We Have A Metabolically Flexible Body Our brain is designed to be able to utilize glucose or ketones. However, the brain has a preference for ketones. If we eat some sweet potatoes, we will mop up that glucose and use it immediately. If you don’t eat carbs, then you will utilize the fat stored in your body. Pauline will fast from 6 pm to lunchtime the next day. She loves to have a core level of ketones. We have a brain that's becoming increasingly insulin resistant. She has published original articles on health-related topics in publications like The Atlantic, NPR, Slate Magazine and the New York Daily News. She has also served as an on-air health expert for national media outlets like Fox News, CBS News, NPR, and The Doctors. Her medical opinions have been featured in print publications, from the New York Times to U.S. News and World Report to Glamour and Parents Magazine. She is a regular weight-loss expert on SiriusXM radio. She is passionate about optimizing health through food. You can often find her making healthy meals (and a mess!) for her husband and two young sons in the kitchen. In this episode, Dr. Sowa talks about how she got involved in the health space and her passion for preventing metabolic dysfunction. Unfortunately, 88% of Americans are metabolically inflexible; however, Dr. Sowa says there are easy ways to reverse that. Plus, Dr. Sowa talks about the importance of data and your optimal markers. [00:40] Why Dr. Sowa Got Involved In The Health Space Even before Dr. Sowa went to college, she had discovered the field of public health. Plus, the idea of prevention always was very attractive to her. Sowa always wondered why doctors want to treat the disease if they could prevent it. At college, she really started to understand a holistic view of what it means to be healthy. Eventually, Dr. Sowa realized a lot of problems in health boils down to metabolic dysfunction. [04:40] Why Are 88% of Americans Metabolically Inflexible? So, Dr. Sowa says the solution is actually pretty straightforward. You can reverse type 2 diabetes; again, it is reversible! Many people think a low-carb and high-fat diet will give you a heart attack or a stroke; that’s simply not true. The three macronutrients are carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Out of those three macronutrients, carbohydrates will spike glucose and insulin the most. It makes total sense that we should eat more protein and fat to reverse high insulin. [16:45] What Is An Optimal Range For Fasting Insulin? Optimal is usually under five. Even up to eight is okay for fasting insulin. Anything higher than eight means your body is making too much insulin in response to carbohydrates. When Dr. Sowa does bloodwork, she’s looking for metabolic syndrome. Plus, Dr. Sowa wants to look for vitamin deficiencies. Learn more about the kits that Dr. Sowa offers here: https://lddy.no/13m4s Use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off your entire order. [20:50] How Often Should Someone Retest Their Markers? You should test once a quarter. If you are embarking on a new lifestyle change, Dr. Sowa says to test right away. That way, you have the data. Once you start eating keto, then you can see what improves. Your markers are a better victory than what you see on the scale. [24:20] How Dr. Sowa Wants To Help People With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome PCOS is a disease of insulin resistance in the majority of cases. For years, the medical community has gone about treating this in the wrong way. Up to 50% of women with PCOS will go on to develop type two diabetes by the ti

At that point, Bronson started to question what he was doing. Eventually, Bronson realized that if you aren’t moving forward, you are moving backward. [05:30] How Bronson Started To Change His Lifestyle First, Bronson stopped eating french fries. He was eating three to four servings of french fries a day. It took a year for Bronson to stop thinking about fries. Plus, Bronson would eat out all of the time. So, he needed to change that habit. [14:30] How To Let Go of Something To Grow and Improve You have to live within who you think you are. If you don’t like where you’re at, you need to change your reality. Make the changes you need to be in the reality you dream about. Overall, you have to let something go in order to move forward. [16:40] Eat More Protein and Build Lean Muscle Mass Bronson recommends reading Keto by Maria Emmerich. Keto: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MYRTGT5/benazadi-20 Protein works completely differently in the body than fat and carbs. There’s a difference between functional calories and fuel calories. Protein will build, whereas carbs and fat will be fuel. Also, Bronson says to check out The P:E Diet: https://pedietbook.com/ You don’t want to have your protein lower than your fuel. Take your lean mass, turn it into grams, and that’s how much protein you want as a minimum, and that’s the maximum that you should have for fat and carbs combined. [21:50] The Difference Between Animal-Based Protein and Plant-Based Protein Animal-based protein is bioavailable; your body needs to be able to use that protein. If you get protein from plants, your body has to do extra work. For example, if you’re getting most of your nutrients from plants, then you need more vitamin C because you’re not getting as much collagen. There’s a bunch of extra work you need to do when you’re getting protein from plants. [28:40] Why Bronson Is A Huge Fan of Living a Carnivore Lifestyle Bronson follows a carnivore diet, but he has butter and eggs. He eats about eight eggs a day. Bronson loves cheese, but it doesn’t love him back. Before Bronson started his health journey, he was lactose intolerant. However, he can now have dairy with no gastric distress. Right now, he eats a lot of lamb, sausage, and eggs. [36:15] Bronson Gives Tips For Increasing Your Muscle Mass First, you need to realize that it doesn’t take a lot. [6:32] Do You Want to Age Slower and Avoid Disease? Optimize Nitric Oxide in Your Body - Nitric Oxide is the Holy Grail of anti-aging medicine in longevity. - Everything we've discovered about the onset and progression of chronic disease over the last 30 years has been linked to a decrease in nitric oxide production. - Nitric oxide is the glue for protein to bind glucose to the membrane. - We can practically overcome all of the metabolic characteristics of type 2 diabetes if we restore nitric oxide production and insulin signaling. - The improper diet, lifestyle, and standard pharmacotherapy all lead to disruption in nitric oxide. [21:48] The Problem With Low Cholesterol, & How This Blocks Nitric Oxide From Doing its Job - Our body makes cholesterol. If our body needs cholesterol, it will make it on demand. So, we get cholesterol from the diet, and we also get it through endogenous production. - Cholesterol is also the backbone for things like testosterone, estrogen, and vitamin D. If our cholesterol gets too low, it will lead to a deficiency in hormones and vitamins. - Our body senses what's going on and then self-corrects. But if we have a drug that inhibits and dodges cholesterol production, which is what a statin does, then our body can't respond. - Physicians and drugs don't heal patients; patients heal themselves. [29:39] How Vegetables Increase Nitric Oxide Inside Your Body - Vegetables contain nitrate. Green leafy vegetables are high in what's called inorganic nitrate. - Nitrate is inert in humans. But when we consume these vegetables, 90 minutes after we consume them, the nitrate is taken up in the good and concentrated in our salivary glands. - We have a mechanism that allows you to eat a plant-based diet, restore nitric oxide production, and reverse cardiovascular disease. However, not all patients respond to this mechanism. Some got better, and some didn’t. - There's high variability in the nitrate content of vegetables. So, there's no way to predict how much you will get from eating vegetables. It depends on where they're grown, how they're grown, and when you consume them. - The other issue is you have to have the right oral bacteria. So, if you're using mouthwash, you won't get the nitric oxide benefits of that plant-based diet. [33:53] How Big Pharma Brain Washes The World - 75% of all the advertisements on TV are from big pharma. And 11% plus is from fast food. Thus, people are constantly misinformed about the solution to their health. - There's no good news on TV. So stop watching. But if you listen to those commercials, ask yourself, Do I want to have one of these potential side effects? - Give the body what it needs, get rid of the things it doesn't need, and the body heals itself. [41:41] Other Ways to Produce Nitric Oxide - In terms of exercise, three to four days of moderate physical exercise, people have already seen improvement in material function. - If you stop doing what's disrupting nitric oxide production and star

Shana Hussin | 5 Easy Steps to Reverse Insulin Resistance & Achieve Nutritional PEACE KKP: 649

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Shana Hussin. She grew up in Wisconsin, and earned her dietetics degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1999. While very active throughout her entire lifetime, she struggled with weight gain in college, despite following conventional nutrition recommendations and exercising extensively. It took many years to figure out why she was so much bigger then, but the truth revealed itself when Shana discovered hormonal connections between weight gain, and eventually growing sick and fat. Shana has worked in the medical nutrition therapy field for 20 years. Like most dietitians, she recommended strategies to her clients for much of her career that failed them long-term, with little sustainable weight loss. This proved to be frustrating to both practitioner and client. Armed with new knowledge, an open mind, and simple healing concepts, she developed a 5- Step lifestyle improvement program for her clients, resulting in immediate and sustained success. Determined to share correct and effective concepts with as many as she could reach, she started writing. Shana now serves those wanting to learn her teachings with books, digital products, personalized virtual visits, group coaching, Facebook support groups, the Fast To Heal Stories podcast, and her popular 28-Day Finding Nutritional PEACE Group Challenges, which run every season. To learn more about or to sign up for any of her programs, visit fasttoheal.info. Shana and her husband have 3 awesome children and live in Kaukauna, WI. When she is able, she loves reading, running, traveling, sitting in the sunshine, walking with friends, and cheering her children on in whatever they are pursuing. In this episode, Shana opens the show by talking about her son’s ulcerative colitis diagnosis. After months of symptoms, the doctors told Shana to prepare to remove her son’s colon. Luckily, Shana sought help outside of the conventional medical system and healed her son without removing his organs. Then, Shana speaks about when she questioned her traditional training as a dietician. After getting sick, Shana started to heal herself by dialing back carbs, increasing healthy fats, and eating more protein. Tune in as we chat all about her new book, Fast To Heal: A 5-Step Guide to Achieving Nutritional PEACE and Reversing Insulin Resistance. So, they went and got testing, but nothing was coming back. Three months after he started having symptoms, he had a colonoscopy done, and he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He had lost a bunch of weight and couldn’t keep up with sports at the age of eleven. Later, the doctor said Shana needed to get ready to take his colon out. However, Shana found experts outside of the conventional medicine that helped heal her son. [13:30] Why Shana Started To Question Her Dietician Training Shana was a dietician for ten years before she started questioning things. She told people to eat low fat, mostly plants and whole grains. Ten years in, Shana’s clients weren’t getting any better. After having three children, Shana started to develop her own health problems. Shana had four or five canker sores in her mouth, bloating, and a lack of energy. She knew something in her diet had to be the problem. It took a long time to figure out what was wrong. Shana started fasting, dialing back carbs, and increasing fats. After a few months, Shana was sleeping better, her bloating went away, and her canker sores vanished. Dr Tunis Hunt | How Chiropractic Adjustments Work For Low Back Pain, Neck Pain & Overall Health KKP: 648

Today, I am excited to have here with me Dr. Tunis Hunt. He is an expert in chiropractors and the doctor at Hunt for Wellness. This chiropractic wellness center helps people uncover and resolve their underlying health problems to achieve optimal health. Dr. Hunt grew up in a chiropractic household. His father is a chiropractor, which helps him see the impact of it on the lives of people. As a child, Dr. Hunt could not fully grasp the power of chiropractic until he enrolled in the chiropractic school, where he learned the philosophy of chiropractic and its potential. A chiropractor’s job is to evaluate the vertebral column of the spine and put something called an adjustment on those areas to remove subluxations and enhance the body's ability to function. With 18 years of experience, Dr. Hunt is passionate about helping others by relieving them of pain and improving overall health. He encourages us to understand the wonders chiropractic can do to our body because everyone deserves a happier and healthier life. In this episode, Dr. Hunt explains why people should not be afraid to try chiropractic and feel the relief they’ll get. [9:32] Try Chiropractic and Feel The Comfort you’ll Get From It - There are different styles and techniques; some are less physical. Some techniques are simple or as non-invasive as the way the energy flows through the body. - As a profession, part of what they do is to help people understand what we're doing and not doing. - Sometimes, the adjustments are sensationalized on social media to make people think it's a violent act. What you see on TikTok is different from what you'll get at most chiropractic offices nationwide. - Chiropractic is an art, so how chiropractors adjust and what they do can be slightly different. Google reviews and recommendations are a great way to find the best chiropractor. - Chiropractic care has so many options available. Unless you live or work close to the chiropractic office, receiving high-quality, dependable care may be difficult. So, choose a chiropractor that is close to you. [22:51] What Is the Recommended Frequency for The Chiropractic Adjustments? - Depending on what chiropractic you go to, you may have been sold or influenced to do a gamut of different adjustments. - At the very minimum, from a wellness perspective, most patients do it about once every month. - Patients come in twice a month if they're more tuned in to wellness and want to do it more frequently. - Some love to make adjustments multiple times a week. [29:38] Having a Back Pain? How Chiropractor may help - The most common reason people seek chiropractic care is unspecified back pain. - Other reasons people seek chiropractic care are neck pain, headache, and sciatica. - It is up to the chiropractors to help people understand why they might want to consider lifestyle chiropractic care because back pain or other reasons are just symptoms of a bigger issue, and the bigger issue could benefit from ongoing lifestyle care. - The nice thing about chiropractic is there are so many nuances that a practitioner can choose to go down and specialize in. - It is about just finding that solution. Keep looking. Don't give up. Chiropractors are here to help. Life's too short to live miserably. [36:48] Reverse Type Two Diabetes by Doing This - The key to reverse diabetes is through diet. Storing too much glucose and an overabundance of simple carbohydrates all lead to diabetes. - This high omega-6 diet, which is prevalent in vegetable oils, raises insulin resistance, the body's inability to pull the glucose out of the blood. And therefore, we get these things called ages or advanced glycogen in products. - The number one reason people die from diabetes is cardiovascular health. They're not dying from diabetes. They're dying from the diseases connected to it. - It’s all about recognizing what you put in your body matters. Whether good or bad, your current health status is 100% your responsibility. [44:53] Carnivore Diet: The Surprising Benefits of this Elimination Diet - At first, Dr. Hunt used a balanced diet perspective. He

However, he knew there were missing pieces of the puzzle that could help impact people's health. Brian realized that nutrition and meal timing are huge aspects of health. The impact that fasting had on Brian’s health really inspired his career in the health and fitness industry. [06:35] Step Number One: Creating Clarity and Set Your Baseline Where are you starting from? Brian likes to use a DEXA scan. A DEXA scan is an imaging test that measures bone density (strength). A lot of people think they can just weigh themselves. However, weight is just a small part of what you should be focusing on. Instead, you want to think about your bone mass, fat mass, and how your clothes are fitting. Next, you want to get crystal clear on your “why.” [11:35] Step Number Two: Small Changes and Big Results Masterplan Identify the low-hanging fruits. What can make the biggest impact right away? People get discouraged if they don’t get small wins. So, focus on some low-hanging fruit that can make a big impact. Then, you can move on to other things that can optimize your health. It can feel frustrating when you’re doing everything right, and you hit a plateau. Hot flashes, weight gain, and energy issues are massive symptoms. Menopause is natural. However, suffering is optional. In a quick window of time, we can feel improvements and feel empowered. [07:10] The Importance of Maintaining Healthy Ovarian Function We can restore and keep healthy ovarian function by looking at hormone disrupters and clearing them from our bodies. Plus, we should support the liver and detoxification. Healthy habits will allow us to have our menstrual cycles for longer - it’s a longevity marker. One of the risk factors for diabetes and pre-diabetes is menopause. A higher risk factor is if you've had a hysterectomy. Thirdly, if you've had your ovaries removed, you have a significantly higher risk of diabetes. If you had your ovaries removed, even before 65, your risk of cardiovascular disease is almost double. The association with diabetes tells how important it is to maintain healthy ovarian function. [09:10] Why Women Need More Ketones Between The Ages of 35 and 55 During ages 35 - 55, the use of glucose in a women’s brain significantly decreases. Instead, you shift to using ketones for fuel in the brain. Dr. Cabeca emphasizes the importance of greens. Depending on your symptoms, you have to pause greens, or you may have to pause meat. Sometimes we need to challenge our gut bacteria, and sometimes, we have to support digestive enzymes. It depends on your unique needs. [14:15] Why You May Want To Consider Using A Progesterone Cream Dr. Anna Cabeca is a massive fan of progesterone. There are progesterone receptors in our brain, bones, and breasts. Progesterone supports healthy breast tissue. Plus, progesterone will support healthy metabolism and healthy neuroendocrine function. Dr. Cabeca has used progesterone in men for anxiety and insomnia; it is a total game-changer. Oral progesterone is excellent if you are working on sleep. [01:12] Three Laws of Structural Health Our bodies constantly adapt to stressors, whether it's external or internal. A healthy person's adaptation is more effective than an unhealthy individual. Understanding how adaptation works is crucial for maintaining overall health. Tissues adapt to the stresses applied to them. Just as exercise can lead to stronger muscles, proper stress management is essential to prevent chronic issues. Bones also adapt to the forces they experience. Uneven weight distribution can lead to imbalances in bone mass. Maintaining balanced weight distribution is vital for long-term bone health. The righting reflex governs our posture, adjusting it based on head position. Maintaining proper head posture is crucial, as it influences overall body alignment. [11:35] Nervous System's Health and Sleep: How are they connected? The way you sleep can impact various aspects of your health. Sleeping in a contorted or twisted position can lead to structural dysfunction and health-related issues. Sleeping on your back is recommended to restore the cervical curve and maintain optimal spinal alignment. It promotes natural alignment and minimizes contortion, aiding the body's structural healing process. Early sleeping habits can contribute to poor sleep positions that may persist into adulthood. Recognizing and correcting these habits is essential for promoting proper spinal health. Late-night exercise or eating can elevate core body temperature. Deep sleep is most restorative when achieved within the first third of the sleep cycle. A drop in core temperature is necessary for quality sleep. [25:23] What is Neck Nest? These Are the Things You Need to Know Relying too much on external support, like pillows and braces, can weaken the body's natural structural integrity over time, causing imbalances and issues. Over-reliance on supports can lead to biomechanical stress, restricting natural movement and causing increased stress on other body parts. The Neck Nest pillow encourages proper spinal alignment by gently stretching and reversing the effects of forward head posture. Placing the Neck Nest on its edge under the neck supports the head's weight while encouraging a natural curve. Starting with shorter durations and gradually increasing usage can help users adjust to the Neck Nest's positioning and experience its benefits effectively. Catharine Arnston | Spirulina Could Be The Missing Piece To Getting The Mitochondria To Function Better KKP: 643

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Catharine Arnston. Catharine Arnston is the Founder and CEO of ENERGYbits® and an expert on the health benefits of algae. Catharine’s passion for algae is contagious. She has been a speaker at hundreds of conferences, podcasts, broadcasts, and national television. Her scientific fluency allows her to explain algae with such simplicity and clarity that it quickly becomes apparent why algae are urgently needed. Algae is the most nutritionally dense food globally, yet it is virtually unknown outside Asia. Catharine’s mission is to change that. In this episode, Catharine opens the show by speaking about the importance of superoxide dismutase (S.O.D.) for clearing free radicals. The highest concentration of S.O.D. is actually in spirulina. Catharine explains how spirulina could be the missing piece to improving the health of your mitochondria. Plus, Catharine speaks about all the other health benefits of algae. Tune in as we chat about using algae as a biohack before red light therapy and how algae can replace your mineral supplements. For Clearing Free Radicals Spirulina is an effortless way to get the nutrients you need to give you energy. The true energy that you get from spirulina is really at the cellular level. When your cells have energy, you’re getting better digestion, reduced inflammation, more free radicals, and you can think clearer. Inside the mitochondria is a second membrane where ATP production occurs. Virtually no antioxidants can make their way into that inner membrane. There's nothing that can make its way into the inner membrane to get rid of those free radicals except something called S.O.D. The highest concentration of S.O.D. is in spirulina. [13:00] Spirulina Could Be The Missing Piece To Getting The Mitochondria To Function Better Spirulina is called cyanobacterial; they are your mitochondria. Mitochondria in our cells came from the cyanobacteria, effectively spirulina. When you have spirulina, it's like introducing your body to itself. If you look at the shape of spirulina and you look at the mitochondria, they are identical. When you take something identical to your DNA, your body knows what to do. [17:50] How Chlorophyll Can Heal Cellular Damage Inside The Body When you have free radicals, they cause what's called oxidative stress. Oxidative stress will cause cellular damage. With cellular damage, nutrients cannot flow into the cells, and toxins cannot flow out of the cells. So, you will end up with more free radicals inside the cell, causing severe damage. Eventually, this can cause rogue cells, leading to cancer. Chlorella and spirulina are excellent at correcting that because they have the highest chlorophyll concentration in the world. Healthy fats will heal your cell walls. Chlorophyll is a fat-based pigment. [23:25] The Reasons You Should Take Algae Instead of Fish Oil Spirulina is higher in GLA and omegas than fish oil. Fish get their omegas from algae. So cut out the middle man by going straight to the algae. Algae is cleaner, and it doesn’t go any farther down the food chain. Plus, it is already rancid by the time you get fish oil from the store. With Catharine’s algae, you’ll get anti-inflammatory benefits. Also, it never goes rancid, and it never goes bad. [32:30] Does Algae Increase Your Glucose Levels? Algae do not decrease your ketones, and it does not increase your glucose. Catharine has tested it herself with people who have CGM monitors. Algae has been used for decades for people who have diabetes. Catharine’s products are taken by people looking to reverse their diabetes. Unfortunately, we know more about our cell phones than we do our bodies. When something goes wrong, people run to conventional medical sources. Instead, we need to learn how our body functions and what it requires to function at an optimal level. [37:50] You Can’t Have An Iron Overload When Taking Spirulina or Chlorella The nice thing about algae is that it's what's called an adaptogen. It won't be absorbed in your body if you do not need that nutrient. However, this is not the case with iron supplements. Catharine urges people not to take iron suppleme

Ari Whitten | The Magic of Melatonin For Mitochondria Health, Overcoming Chronic Fatigue For Good & More! KKP: 641

Today, I am blessed to have here with me the Founder of The Energy Blueprint, Ari Whitten. He is an energy and fatigue specialist who focuses on taking an evidence-based approach to energy enhancement, a nutrition, exercise, and natural health expert, and a #1 best-selling author. He has been studying nutrition and holistic health for over two decades. He has a Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University in Kinesiology (specializing in fitness, nutrition, and health). He also has a background in exercise physiology and fitness and holds two advanced certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist. In addition, he recently completed the three years of coursework for his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, an education which rounds out all aspects – nutrition, fitness, and psychology – of his approach to optimal health. For the last six years, he’s been working with many of the top scientists and physicians on the planet to develop the most comprehensive program in the world on the science of overcoming fatigue and increasing energy — The Energy Blueprint. In this episode, Ari first speaks about his Epstein Barr Virus diagnosis and how that took him down a rabbit hole of energy optimization. One way to improve chronic fatigue is by growing more mitochondria; Ari explains how this is possible. Then, Ari dives into melatonin and tips for fixing a circadian rhythm disruption. [00:45] Ari Speaks About Epstein Barr Virus and His Obsession With Energy Optimization Ari has been studying health science his whole life. Unfortunately, Ari got very sick with Epstein Barr Virus and mononucleosis in his mid-twenties. He lost about thirty-five pounds in the span of a month; he couldn’t eat because the back of his throat was so swollen. Ari was left with chronic fatigue; it shifted his entire life. So, Ari started to focus on the world of energy optimization; he became obsessed with energy science. Conventional medical doctors had no information to offer Ari. After doing research, Ari found that science actually does not support the idea that adrenal fatigue is a significant cause of chronic fatigue. Well, Ari realized that no one truly understands what is causing fatigue. [08:45] The Key To Overcoming Fatigue Is Growing More Mitochondria Finding ways to grow more mitochondria and strengthen your mitochondria is a massive key to the puzzle of overcoming fatigue. The mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell. We are taught to think of mitochondria as these mindless energy generators. Something you may not know is the mitochondria have a dual role beyond energy production, which is just as important as their role in energy production. The mitochondria also help with energy regulation. Your energy levels are a function of the degree to which your mitochondria decide if you’re safe or if you’re under attack. [17:50] Hormetic Stressors Will Make Your Mitochondria Bigger and Stronger Hormetic stress is how a transient metabolic stressor works to stimulate beneficial adaptations that ultimately increase resilience and resistance in the face of a broad range of other stressors. Basically, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. By exposing yourself to moderate stressors within your body's capacity, you make your body more robust and more resistant. Hormetic stressors are vital for challenging our mitochondria and stimulating them in a way that makes them bigger and stronger. [27:30] Is Your Body Under Attack? Your Brain Will Create Sickness Behavior When cells are under attack, they shift all their resources to defense mode. Cells will go into defense mode to protect themselves. They also go into defense mode as an evolutionary adaptive mechanism to help the body’s energy and resources be redirected towards defending against the threat. When we have lots of immune activation and elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines, the brain re

Alan Cash | This Molecule Supports Mitochondria Health, Helps With Endurance, Reduces PMS Symptoms & Extends Your LifeSpan! KKP: 639

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Alan Cash. He serves as founder and chief science officer at Terra Biological. Join my upcoming FREE keto LIVE training here: http://www.ketosismasterclass.com Researching into the molecular and genomic mechanisms of aging and the effects of calorie restriction on aging, Mr. Cash developed unique molecular methods and compounds to mimic calorie restriction and extend lifespan in laboratory animals. Mr. Cash has an MS in physics from the University of Oklahoma. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Cash has gained recognition and awards from the White House, INC 500 business, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Deloitte and Touche Technology Fast 50, and Top 100 Hotfirm. In this episode, Alan talks about his passion for researching the mechanisms behind aging. During a study, Alan found that oxaloacetate extends the lifespan of worms. He speaks about the other clinical research Alan has done around oxaloacetate and what are the most surprising benefits of this compound. Alan dives into reversing some of the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and chronic fatigue syndrome. Tune in as we chat about how Alan is researching the effects of oxaloacetate on women with breast cancer. 💊 Purchase Benagene oxaloacetate here: https://bit.ly/3HJLZ44 💊 Purchase Jubilance PMS support here: https://bit.ly/39JJuST / / E P I S O D E S P ON S O R S Biotiquest Sugar Shift product. [00:45] How Alan Found Out That Oxaloacetate Extends The Lifespan of Worms Alan had a condition that was essentially caused by aging; his problem was fixed through brain surgery. As a physicist, Alan began to wonder why people age. He devised an idea to change the NAD to NADH ratio using oxaloacetate. So, Alan fed worms oxaloacetate to see if they would live longer. It worked! It’s not often you find a way to extend the lifespan of a species. [19:20] Is There Any Concern With Ascorbic Acid and Throwing Off The Copper To Iron Ratio? One hundred fifty milligrams of ascorbic acid is not enough to do anything unless you are very, very sensitive to vitamin C. If you drink a glass of orange juice and feel terrible, you’re probably sensitive to vitamin C. It’s very rare to be sensitive to vitamin C. If you are sensitive to vitamin C, you should not take benaGene. [21:40] The Reason You Should Take Oxaloacetate Every Single Day The best use of oxaloacetate is to use it every day. Oxaloacetate will help with fasting glucose levels and mood issues. When you take oxaloacetate regularly, you can reduce the amount of blood glucose swing throughout the day by 55%. About 10% of the total genes out there change when you calorie restrict. Typically, you will see genomic responses in 30 to 45 days by taking oxaloacetate. [30:05] How Oxaloacetate Can Help With PMS and PMDD Symptoms In the past, we thought that PMS was due to hormonal issues because it happened every month. Well, hormones do help with the timing of things. However, the actual problems seem to be linked to the brain. Women with emotional issues need more glucose in their cerebellum. If you give them glucose, they will feel better. This is why women are reaching for chocolate and carbohydrates. Oxaloacetate converts fatty acids that circulate through your system into glucose. That way, you can make glucose at these times when you need it! During a trial, Alan saw over a 50% reduction in depression and anxiety and a 48% reduction in suicidal ideation by taking oxaloacetate. [38:30] The Most Surprising Benefits Alan Has Seen From Oxaloacetate Alan was surprised to find that oxaloacetate extends the lifespan of worms. As far as inflammation, Alan did some cellular work with oxaloacetate. Oxaloacetate can reduce a significant inflammation pathway in your body. Alan’s customers have reported that oxaloacetate helped them with chronic fatigue syndrome. Within six weeks, the average reduction in fatigue was 25 to 30%. That’s life-changing! [51:30] Could Oxaloacetate Help People With Breast Cancer? In cancer cells, when we increase the levels of oxaloacetate, it reverses the Warburg Effect. The Warburg Effect is where solid cancers take in much more glucose into their cells. They burn that glucose, not in the mitochondria but fermented in the cell’s cytosol. The Warburg Effect makes tumors grow faster but makes them more lethal. Alan is in the middle of a clinical trial on patients with breast cancer and how oxaloacetate can help with their fatigue. Dr Latt Mansor | Exogenous ketones: Do they work, and are they safe? KKP: 637

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Latt Mansor. He holds a PhD in Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics from the University of Oxford. Dr. Mansor also holds an MA (Columbia University) and BS (University of Nottingham) in Biotechnology. Latt brings over a decade of experience spanning academic research, health technology, and pharmaceuticals. As H.V.M.N.’s Research Lead, he oversees the scientific development and clinical applications for all H.V.M.N. products. This episode originally aired in July 2022. In this episode, Dr. Mansor speaks about the inspiration behind his career in the health industry, which eventually led to his role as H.V.M.N.’s Research Lead. Dr. Mansor explains why 88% of Americans are metabolically inflexible and how it’s related to elevated blood glucose and chronic inflammation. Then, Dr. Mansor talks about the importance of stress on the body and how to find the “sweet spot” when it comes to weight lifting and other hormetic stressors. Tune in as we chat about exogenous ketones, improving sleep quality, and how Ketone-IQ can help your recovery. [02:00] The Inspiration Behind Dr. Mansor’s Career As H.V.M.N.’s Research Lead Dr. Mansor grew up in a family with a high prevalence of diabetes. His father passed away from a stroke, and his brother passed away from a heart attack. Growing up, Dr. Mansor was overweight. During his undergrad, Dr. Mansor learned about physiology and metabolism. Plus, during college, Dr. Mansor started to exercise and actually enjoyed exercise for the first time in his life. With all this knowledge, Dr. Mansor realized he could be healthy without worrying about the diseases his family members suffered from. [10:35] Why Are 88% of American Adults Metabolically Inflexible? Your nerves have a higher risk of getting damaged when there is a constant increase in elevated glucose in the blood. Your body knows something is wrong with increased glucose, which triggers chronic inflammation. Metabolism is all about balance and moderation. Every enzyme has a specific temperature range at which it’s optimal. When you activate inflammation constantly, there are bound to be adverse side effects. [15:35] Life Is All About Challenges and Growth - Use Trial and Error To Find Your Sweet Spot Life is all about giving yourself a challenge, adapting, learning, and growing. Next time you face the same challenge, you can tackle it in a much more efficient way. It can be difficult to find the sweet spot when you are challenging yourself. Dr. Mansor uses a trial and error approach when it comes to knowing his sweet spot while exercising. Your body will adapt. People want instant change; however, you need to give your body time to change. [22:40] You Need To Train Your Body To Respond To Certain Conditions Effectively and Optimally Metabolic inflexibility is your body’s inability to switch from burning glucose to burning fat. When there is dysfunction, there is bound to be a deficiency, and there is bound to be wasted energy. Everyone thinks cortisol is the bad guy; however, you need cortisol to function. The goal is not to shut down whatever is related to chronic disease. Instead, you want to train your body to respond to specific conditions effectively and optimally. [30:20] Exogenous Ketones Are a Source of Energy and Can Help Lower Your Hunger Hormones Ketones are fuel for you to create energy. There are still calories with exogenous ketones. You won't lose weight if you have too many calories and are not exercising. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone. Ketones can help lower that hunger hormone. [36:05] Exogenous Ketones Are Useful For Getting Back Into Ketosis If you are following a ketogenic diet, you may not need exogenous ketones. However, do you have a hard time getting back into ketosis? If you fall out of ketosis, exogenous ketones can be a helpful way for you to get back into ketosis. Exogenous ketones are also a great tool to use before exercising. [43:20] The Brain Doesn’t Metabolize Glucose As Efficiently After A Traumatic Brain Injury Dr. Mansor researched how ketones can be a therapeutic intervention to treat traumatic brain injury. Within 48 hours, studies show hypermetabolism of glucose after trauma. Some researchers think the body wants glucose for energy to repair. Ketones can help give the brain another option to produce energy. For some

He graduated from UCLA with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He works as a Health Coach at Evolve Healthcare and co-founded the health education company Sapien. He also works to spread the awareness of regenerative agriculture and increase access to well-raised animal products through his company Nose to Tail. This episode originally aired in July 2022. In this episode, Brian opens the show by explaining the inspiration behind his diet and lifestyle changes. Then, he dives into his documentary Food Lies and the new science changing everything we need to know about nutrition. Later, Brian explains why cows aren’t causing a climate crisis and how the facts don’t show that red meat causes cancer. [00:45] Why Brian Decided To Change His Diet and Lifestyle At age 30, Brian lost both of his parents to terrible health conditions. His parents would follow the food pyramid but ended up with Alzheimer’s and cancer. After losing his parents, Brian completely changed his diet and lifestyle. Eventually, Brian’s allergies went away, his energy improved, and he lost his dad bod. After eating more animal products and less processed foods, Brian got healthy. We need to redefine what aging should look like and feel like. [10:20] Food Lies: The Ultimate Answer To All The Propaganda Films Check out Food Lies: https://www.foodlies.org/ Brian is working on making the ultimate answer to all propaganda films. The whole goal is to get Food Lies on Netflix. Food Lies is all about the sordid history of our dietary guidelines, what we should be eating, and how to do it sustainably. [15:20] Are Cows Really Causing The Climate Crisis? There's always been methane coming from ruminant animals. Methane from animals is part of the natural system. There’s a huge diversion going on. 95% of emission problems are from other industries. The fossil fuel industry extracts carbon from deep into the ground. Big industry is controlling the narrative around methane and cows. [23:30] All Animals Require Protein: What Happens When You’re Not Getting Enough Building Blocks All animals acquire food to get a certain amount of protein. If animals don’t have enough protein in their food, they have to eat more food to get enough protein. The protein of the population has dropped dramatically. When you drop protein, you have to eat more calories as a result. Protein isn’t the answer for everything; you also have to consider nutrient density. [31:30] How Much Protein Should You Be Eating Every Single Day? Eat a gram per pound of body weight or lean body mass. There isn’t a downside to eating this much protein. If you have a severe kidney problem, there’s a chance you’ll have issues with too much protein. You’ll have a problem if you’re eating high protein and highly processed foods. If your ideal weight is 130 pounds, consume 130 grams of protein. [37:10] Does Eating Red Meat Cause Cancer? No, The Problem Is Processed Foods Why is there a worldwide agenda against meat? Epidemiology can't show causation; it can only show correlation. A famous study says that red meat causes cancer. However, it has a lot more to do with eating processed foods with processed meats. If you’re eating a hot dog, you’re eating a bun. If you’re eating a steak, you’re probably not eating a bun. [40:45] Processed Food Companies Are Behind The Vegan Agenda A massive conglomeration of worldwide processed food companies is pushing the vegan agenda. The countries that eat little meat have 30-40% child malnutrition and stunted growth. There’s barely any profit margin in milk, eggs, fish, and fresh foods. That’s why the vegan agenda is so popular because big companies can make huge profit margins on their products. AND MUCH MORE! [04:07] Different Types of Eczema and How They Differ from Each Other - Eczema or atopic dermatitis is just rashy skin and often has a component of overgrowth of staph aureus on the skin. - There are three types of priorities of eczema and how they appear. - Gut-mediated eczema is usually going to look bright red. If it's circular, it is probably always gut mediated. And it's going to look worse in the summer. - Antihistamines and histamines aren't enemies but are almost always a problem in most eczema cases. - Histamine should be broken down better when you have good gut bacteria. [10:06] Are You Digesting Properly? Things You Should Know About Digesting - No one is digesting because we suppress all our digestive enzymes, stomach acid, and pancreatic enzyme functions under stress. - Undigested stuff creates chaos in the immune system. And then it informs the immune system that there's a problem, which can lead you to have food sensitivities. - If you do not have a banana bowel movement every morning, you're probably not digesting beautifully. [28:11] Improving Gut Microbiome: Tools That Can Help To Strengthen Your Gut - Prebiotics are supposed to feed good bacteria. But most clinicians at practice would tell you they are good and bad, depending on the prebiotics. - Saccharomyces boulardii can pass the stomach acid spores and typically can have some bacteria-shifting properties. Still, they're probably not enough when you have H. Pylori or other certain bacteria that need a certain potential treatment. - Short-chain fatty acids are up-regulating ketosis. - If you're trying to support your gut health, improve your digestion first. - Doing diaphragmatic breathing pumps your lymphatics, which improves your digestion. - When doing deep breathing, you increase ATP turnover by 15 times. So, you're healing your adrenals with breathwork. [39:24] Liver and Kidney: Detoxifying Tips to Help Your Organs Clean Your Body - Try always to start externally. - Be careful what you put on large areas of your skin, such as pure, high-quality oil. - The sauna massively helps with cellular turnover and increases like passive exercise. - Liver detoxification involves pooping, being hydrated, and sweating. - Digesting your food is massively important to get those nutrients, and amino acids come from proteins. [4736] The Main Causes of Kidney Issues and Ways To Protect It - Keep hydrated. - Kidneys usually function, and you're hydrating well and supporting them that way. - High blood pressure, high glucose levels, and certain medications are some of the causes of kidney issues. - Cordyceps mushrooms are beneficial to the kidneys. [00:40] Dr. Nolte Speaks About Her Background and The Importance of Disease Prevention Dr. Nolte is a geriatric physical therapist by trade. Plus, she has additional training to be board certified in geriatrics. Dr. Nolte would see people in their sixties who were acting like they were eighty. The care and services that Dr. Nolte would provide seemed like it was too little and too late. Insulin resistance is at the core of all the conditions that Dr. Nolte treats. The longer you hold off making those lifestyle changes, the harder it will be to get healthier. The longer we continue to make poor decisions, the easier those decisions are to maintain. [10:15] The Role of Insulin In Health and Disease Insulin is a hormone made by your pancreas. It is a good thing and a vital hormone. Insulin is an anabolic hormone, meaning its role is to build things up. Insulin’s role is to move blood sugar, or blood glucose from your bloodstream, into your cells to be either used as energy right away or to be stored in the form of muscle glycogen, liver glycogen, adipose tissue, or fat tissue. Exercise will reduce blood sugar. You shouldn’t focus on calories. Instead, you should focus on blood sugar for weight loss. When insulin continues to go up, your cells will become resistant to that insulin. Eventually, you will start to see blood sugars go up. Remember, 88% of adults have insulin resistance. If you learn how to live a low insulin lifestyle, you’ll lose weight and prevent disease. [22:50] Your Metabolism Will Slow Down With Chronic Caloric Restriction A fascinating study showed chronic caloric restriction slows your metabolism for six months to four years. When you return to your old eating habits, you’ll gain weight because your metabolism has slowed down. Many doctors don’t have the capacity and the resources to help their patients with nutrition. Overall, we need more proactive measures, and we need to take responsibility for our health. [25:40] Stop Asking This Question: “How Do I Lose Weight?” We are asking the wrong question. We shouldn’t ask, “how do I lose weight?” In reality, you should be asking, “how do I lower insulin?” The quality of the questions you are asking will determine the quality of your life. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, that takes an entirely different approach and mindset. Anyone who has been in the coaching business understands that mindset trumps everything else. If you don’t have the mindset in place, all other strategies will fall short. [27:25] Autosuggestions Can Help You Live A Healthy Lifestyle Here are some books that will help with your mindset: Think and Grow Rich: https://www.amazon.com/Think-Grow-Rich-Napoleon-Hill/dp/0449214923/benazadi-20 Atomic Habits: https://www.amazon.com/Atomic-Habits-Proven-Build-Break/dp/0735211299/benazadi-20 Traction: https://www.amazon.com/Traction-Gino-Wickman-audiobook/dp/B00A9Z973M/benazadi-20 The systems that Dr. Nolte learned to implement in her business are things like being accountable, being productive, an

Later, Kevin ended up getting diagnosed with osteoporosis in his early 30s. Kevin was devastated about his diagnosis. At the time, Kevin had gut health issues, poor energy, wasn’t sleeping well, and had high stress. So, Kevin knew he had to address everything to fix his health. Finally, Kevin got the right plan for his health and bones. [06:10] The Answer To Your Health Problems Won’t Come From The Pharmacy Kevin always thought that the answer to his health problems would come from a pharmacy or a doctor. Throughout his life, Kevin took sleeping pills, antidepressants, antibiotics, and countless other medications to help address the signs and symptoms of his condition. However, he never really received a complete resolution of those issues because he was just covering up the cause. Kevin just wanted to divest himself from thinking that the solution to his health was in a pill. [09:20] The Importance of Gut Health For Your Overall Health Your body and your bones are like plants. To grow, they need nutrients and the right conditions. Most people focus on nutrients like salads and smoothies. They’re not considering the soil. Our gut is like the soil; it is where we absorb almost everything. To absorb anything, you need roots in your soil. Our roots are called villi. They're these tiny little hairlike projections that cover our small intestine. The villi will shuttle nutrients into your bloodstream so they can travel where they are needed in your body. When you have poor digestion, you won’t be able to break down food properly. [13:45] Gut Health: Testing Your Stomach Acid and Other Options First, figure out where your stomach acid is; there are a few different tests that you can do. If you have low stomach acid, you can supplement with betaine HCl. You could also use some digestive enzymes to help break down your food. You need a digestive stool test to understand what is going on inside your microbiome. Then, you will work with a practitioner to build a protocol. Check out Gut Zoomer: https://www.vibrant-wellness.com/tests/gut-zoomer/ [15:50] Do I Have To Stop Drinking Coffee If I Have Gut Issues? Do I have to stop drinking coffee? The answer is no. The big concern is caffeine when it comes to coffee. Caffeine is going to vary slightly to increase calcium excretion. Most people don’t need to avoid coffee. Instead, drink less. If you've got caffeine intakes greater than 300 milligrams a day, calcium excreted in the urine will increase. [17:30] When Should I Get My First Bone Density Scan? The earlier, the better when it comes to getting your

[06:16] Histamine Receptors and Allergies: A New Perspective on Health Disorders Allergic reactions can be immediate or delayed. The latter, often called intolerances, can occur hours after exposure to an allergen and can be harder to identify due to this delay. Histamine receptors are found throughout the body, not only in typical locations like the skin, sinuses, and lungs. Therefore, allergic reactions can affect various bodily systems. Health issues like interstitial cystitis, plaque in the arteries, and neurological conditions may have allergic components, meaning they may be triggered or worsened by allergies or intolerances. It's crucial to identify and minimize exposure to allergens, which can come from various sources, such as food, to mitigate these adverse health effects. This can be done through allergy and intolerance tests. Understanding the broader impact of allergies can lead to better diagnoses and treatments for various health conditions that might have been previously unexplained. [15:18] How Can You Manage Histamine Levels in Leftover Food? Check this out! Histamine, produced by bacteria, can accumulate in leftover food and may cause unpleasant reactions when consumed. This accumulation begins immediately after cooking and cannot be reversed by reheating. Refrigeration slows down histamine production by reducing bacterial activity. However, leftovers should be refrigerated immediately after cooking to limit histamine buildup effectively. Leftovers should be spread out rather than lumped in the fridge to speed up cooling and slow histamine buildup. This increases the surface area exposed to the cold temperature, helping the food cool down faster. Due to the potential histamine buildup in stored food, sensitive or reactive people may need to avoid leftovers until their condition is controlled. [17:37] What's the Effect of Vaccines on the Immune System that Makes a Significant Health Challenge? Long-term COVID-19 is linked to IgG4 disease, characterized by an immune system overreaction leading to tissue swelling and fibrosis. This previously rare condition is now seen more frequently due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related vaccines. Vaccines can trigger an immune response that produces spike proteins indefinitely, leading to continuous inflammation and fibrosis. This response lacks an "off switch," which presents a significant health challenge. To help manage this ongoing reaction, proteolytic enzymes, such as natto kinase and serrapeptase, may break down the spike proteins and fibrosis. Over time, lysosomes, the cellular "recycling centers," can become overwhelmed with proteins they cannot break down and gradually transform into "landfills." This shift may be a primary factor behind accelerated aging. The key to managing long-term health effects, particularly in COVID-19, is to support the body's protein digestion mechanisms and clean out lysosomes, potentially slowing the aging process. [26:16] What Dietary Adaptation Techniques Are Useful Over the Long Term? If you have a histamine problem, you can make significant improvements by modifying your environment and diet. Still, structural damage caused by inflammation from histamine may take longer to heal. Food reactivity is a spectrum, not a binary state. So

[07:20] How To Increase Your Protein During Mealtime If you're trying to build more muscle, you may not benefit from doing an OMAD approach. In a building phase, Robert will eat two or three meals a day. Currently, Robert eats 3,000 calories a day and 220 grams of protein. Animal-base is just going to be more bioavailable, and it has a better amino acid profile. You can succeed on a plant-based diet. However, you are going to have more supplements. Robert eats a lot of meat and doesn’t have any issues with it. Meat helps Robert streamline and simplify his meal prep. [16:30] How Can You Be A Body Builder Without Any Carbs? Most people didn’t think it was possible to lift hard and heavy on a low-carb diet. Plus, people told Robert that he wasn’t going to have any energy. Well, keto helped Robert improve his relationship with food. Haters will talk smack all day long; Robert doesn’t listen to it. If you’re eating minimal carbs and you feel great, then you’re obviously functioning on fat and ketones. If your calories are very low, you may want to leave fat higher and decrease protein because fat is great for energy. Don’t leave protein low indefinitely. [21:50] Should You Throw Away Your Scale? [01:05] Heart Disease: The History of How The Leading Killer Disease Worldwide Began - In the early 1900s, heart disease is an exceedingly rare condition. - Eventually, it became more prominent, and in the 1950s, it reached a crisis point. - 70 years later, the solution to fight heart disease still has yet to progress. - Cholesterol was not the problem. [15:14] What Is the One Factor That Causes Heart Disease? Know Your Risk - Heart disease is not multifactorial. It just has one factor that contributes to heart disease. - In atherosclerotic heart disease, damage to the blood vessel wall is a primary contributing component. - These damages to the blood vessel are caused by common factors such as insulin resistance, smoking, and high blood pressure. - Vegetable and seed oils are also a contributor to heart disease. [24:49] What's the Connection Between Being Stressed and Heart Disease? What Should You Do? - Stress plays an important role in heart disease, and it's one of the pillars of health - The difficult part about stress is we don't have a great way of measuring it. - There's a cardiac condition called Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, a stress-induced heart attack. - Managing stress is a very important aspect of mitigating your risk for heart disease. [28:19] Lab Test: The Importance of Getting a Lab Assessment Into Our Bodies - The amount of cholesterol isn't the right thing to look at. We need to look at the quality of the cholesterol in our bodies. - Until you get damage to the blood vessel and the cholesterol particles, you cannot produce heart disease and plaques in the heart's blood vessels. - Push to get an NMR panel. It is not expensive and is usually covered by insurance. - You need to know a doctor who knows what they're looking at. - One test that is essential for people to get is called a coronary artery calcium scan. That scan will show us whether or not you're accumulating damage to the blood vessels in your heart. - High sensitivity C reactive protein test is another important scan patients should have. [49:57] Have You Heard About Fish Oil? Should We Take It or Not? - The reason that fish oil gets recommended is because it's thought to be anti-inflammatory. - Dr. Philip advocates for people to figure out what's causing the inflammation and eliminate the inflammation. And then we don't need anti-inflammatories like fish oil anymore. - if you aren't oxidizing things in the first place and if you aren't first inducing inflammation. Anti-inflammatory drugs and antioxidants are not necessary. - Get on a low-inflammatory lifestyle and diet; you don't need the anti-inflammatory benefits. [01:00] How Morley Became Obsessed with Copper in the Mitochondria Morley was born into a very sickly family with many illnesses. After doing medical research, Morley found that in the world of science, they separated copper from iron metabolism. In traditional Chinese medicine, copper is the general, and iron is the foot soldier. When the general is not around, foot soldiers go crazy. This is exactly what happens inside our bodies. [06:10] What You Need To Know About Mitochondria In The Human Body We've been trained to think of the mitochondria as an energy furnace. People think that the mitochondria just put out energy. There are 40 quadrillion mitochondria in our body. The average cell has about 500 mitochondria. The average liver cell has 2,000, kidney cells have 4,000, heart cells have 10,000, and a mature egg in a woman's body has 600,000 mitochondria. The cells that are primarily relied upon for survival have the most mitochondria. Morley likes to say, “ignore the enemies; ignite the energy.” Morley has learned that if you don't have copper in your diet and don't have retinol to make copper bioavailable, you're not getting excellent mitochondria function. If mitochondria cannot produce energy, they cannot recycle iron. [21:30] Ferritin In The Body and The Reason You Need Copper To Stay Healthy There are four different forms of ferritin in the body. There are two principal flavors: heavy chain and light chain. Whenever you see the phrase heavy chain, it means copper is involved. The light chain is expressed most extensively in the liver. The heavy chain is expressed chiefly in the heart. There is also serum ferritin. Many people believe that ferritin in the blood accurately reflects what's happening inside cells. However, when you get serum ferritin high, you toxify the liver. When you suppress copper in an animal's diet, iron will rip up in the liver. [32:20] We Need To Make 2.5 Million Red Blood Cells Every Single Second 70% of the iron in the body is in hemoglobin. There's a recycling system for iron called the reticular endothelial system. Every second of every day, we need to make 2.5 million red blood cells. In 24 hours, we make 2 trillion red blood cells. It only takes 24 milligrams of iron to support that level of production. [39:50] The Reason You Need More Cooper on A Ketogenic Diet if you ferment sugar without oxygen, you get two units of energy. If you oxidize the sugar, you're going to get around 34. If you oxidize fat, you’ll get 140 units of energy. 90% of the energy comes out of the mitochondria. It does not take a lot of copper to run our body; copper creates energy. If you're going to have a keto diet, you better have a healthy supply of copper. The metabolism of fats is copper-depend

[00:17] Using Light to Improve Mitochondrial Health: A Biohacking Paradigm Shift Light, particularly infrared and red light, can significantly impact our biochemistry by enhancing mitochondrial health. It's an area worthy of more widespread understanding and use. The absence of health-boosting technologies like light therapy in common establishments reveals a gap in our healthcare system, highlighting the need for broader dissemination and commercial application of such health-promoting interventions. Understanding the interplay between diet, particularly keto, and biohacking strategies like light therapy can lead to more effective ways to improve health. Our perception of the sun as merely an object in the sky belies its critical role in regulating our biochemistry and overall health. Its radiant energy, especially in the infrared spectrum, profoundly influences our well-being. Infrared light, constituting over 50% of the sun's energy spectrum reaching us, has unique properties that allow it to penetrate the skin and influence deeper tissues. This highlights the potential of targeted infrared therapy to improve health at a cellular level. [11:56] How effective is red light therapy? Hormesis, a pivotal concept to practices like the keto diet, fasting, cold exposure, and red light therapy, underscores that more is not always better. Optimal benefits lie in striking the right balance. Individuals may react differently to red light therapy, dependent on their current mitochondrial health status. It's essential to consider personal health background while designing a red light therapy regimen. The 'Goldilocks zone' for red light therapy isn't necessarily about longer exposure but the suitable duration leading to positive effects. Self-observation is crucial in optimizing the use of red light therapy. Noticing and understanding the body's response to therapy can guide frequency and intensity adjustments. Red light therapy can be effective for acute conditions, such as muscle contusions, by applying it right after the injury and before bed to stimulate recovery during sleep. Regular application over a period is usually beneficial. [26:21] Red Light Therapy: What Is It? A Complete Guide for Beginners Photobiomodulation, or red light therapy, isn't just beneficial for muscle repair or athletic recovery but has a profound impact on gut health due to the high concentration of light receptors in the stomach. Photobiomodulation on an empty stomach can stimulate the gut microbiome and improve overall digestive health. Implementing red light therapy into daily routines, such as morning me

In this podcast, Fasting, Keto, Protein and Keeping it Simple, we cover: Controlling Your Appetite and Cravings During Fasting The Connection of Protein, Muscle, and Weight Loss Can Keto Be Simple? Ditching the Complicated Diets Practicing Self-Love and Discovering Your Superpower Controlling Your Appetite and Cravings During Fasting Raise your hand if you’ve craved something sweet while fasting…we’ve all been there. In this episode, Ben and I discussed a few reasons behind these cravings and how to overcome them. Ben suggests that the cravings could be due to not being fat-adapted yet. Our brains may panic when glucose drops in a fasted state because the ketones are not present. It sends signals to our body to get some carbs that fulfill that desire. I recommend using fasting to pulse into a ketogenic state and then pulse out. What this means is that each time you go into your ketogenic state, it’s healing something. If you get into that space, and suddenly your cravings go up, hang in there as long as you can and then dip back into food. And each time you go back, it gets easier and easier, just like going to the gym. It’s important to note that every fast has its benefits, so if you did reach for that snack, there’s no such thing as a failed fast. When you put yourself in a healing state, you can’t fail. Understanding the type of craving you’re having, whether it’s a sugar craving, an adrenal issue, or a thyroid issue – you can support your body by adding more good fat and protein, eating more calories, or doing more 24-hour fasts. Protein, Muscle, and Weight Loss If you’re looking to build muscle and lose weight, you might want to pay attention to how much protein you’re consuming. It’s recommended to consume between one to one and a half grams of protein per pound of body weight. But if you fall short of meeting this requirement, using essential amino acids can be beneficial in filling these gaps. As we age, particularly during menopause, our bodies start to break down muscle to get amino acids if the adrenal glands are overworked. To combat this, protein cycling may be the answer – this involves consuming 30 grams of protein several times a day, combined with a lot of amino acids, to maintain muscle mass. Consuming more than 90 grams of protein risks turning it into glucose, which could impede weight loss. It’s important to note that this applies to one meal, so consuming over 90 grams in a single setting is challenging for most people. Can Keto Be Simple? Ditching the Complicated Diets If you’re tired of trying all the complicated diets and grabbing every new supplement that comes along, here’s a solution: simplicity. In this episode, Ben and I discussed that often the natural healthcare system and biohacking world can be sometimes overcomplicated to the point where it’s as confusing as the conventional healthcare system. For instance, if you want to get into ketosis, the best way is to start fasting. You don’t have to count macros or purchase pre-packaged keto food. You can start simply by compressing your eating window and leaving long times for fasting to see if you can get into ketosis. Instead of counting macros, you can switch to nature’s carbs. To simplify your approach, start with small changes that you can easily incorporate into your routine, like a daily walk or simple breathing exercises. It’s important to not get bogged down in the details and to remember the ultimate goal of improving your health. Practicing Self-Love and Discovering Your Superpower This year, I’ve promised myself to practice more self-love when I can and encourage you to find the time to give back and nurture y

Dr David Harper | The Latest Research on Keto For Cancer, Cardiovascular Health & Metabolic Syndrome KKP: 623

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. David Harper. As a health educator and cancer researcher, Dr. David G. Harper has studied the impact of diet on human health for many years. The culmination of that extensive work is the BioDiet, a ketogenic food regimen that he and his wife began in 2012. The significant weight loss and health improvements they experienced led Dr. Harper to counsel hundreds of people on the BioDiet, with similarly consistent and impressive results. Dr. Harper is an associate professor of kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley and a visiting scientist at the BC Cancer Research Center, Terry Fox Laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in comparative physiology at the University of Cambridge. He is on the scientific advisory board of the Canadian Clinicians for Therapeutic Nutrition and is a member of the Institute for Personalized Therapeutic Nutrition. In this episode, Dr. Harper discusses fixing your diet before putting drugs in your body. The best cure for cancer is through prevention; Dr. Harper reveals how diet can be the key to avoiding chronic diseases and cancer. Dr. Harper dives deep into the connection between insulin resistance, obesity, and inflammation. Plus, he chats about how ketosis is a great way to lower inflammation and reverse insulin resistance. [01:40] You Should Try Fixing Your Diet Before Putting Drugs In Your Body We can improve people’s health significantly through diet. Diet will decrease your risk of chronic disease by about 70%. If you get the food right, many health symptoms will correct themselves. Everyone feels better when they have adopted a ketogenic diet. [07:10] Dr. Hopper Reveals The Best Cure For Cancer People often ask Dr. Hopper what the best treatment for cancer is. The best cancer treatment is not to get it in the first place. When you age, you don’t need to get heavy and sick. Most likely, you get heavy and sick because of your diet. You can have diabetes for a decade, which will be wholly reversed through a ketogenic diet. Even atherosclerosis is reversible through diet. [10:20] How Keto Tackles Obesity, Insulin Resistance, and Inflammation Counting calories has been pretty much disproven. It turns out this model just doesn’t work. Obesity is a result of chronic exposure to a high carbohydrate diet. Carbohydrates elevate your blood sugar dramatically. Also, obesity makes insulin resistance worse and inflammation worse. It’s a vicious cycle! Inflammation is the root cause of most cardiovascular diseases. Sugar and high carbohydrate diets are causing inflammation. Overall, you can make your mitochondria healthier through diet and exercise. [19:05] How Does Ketosis Lower Inflammation In The Body? Ketones are produced when you metabolize fats. When you switch to fat metabolism, it triggers more antioxidant reactions within the cell. Ketones will reduce the amount of fat within the cells. High-sensitivity C-reactive Protein (hs-CRP) is the best measure of your chronic inflammation. You want that number to be low. Exercise is one of the best ways to stimulate mitophagy. Mitophagy helps remove aged and damaged mitochondria. [32:45] How Do You Produce Glucose In Your Body Without Eating Sugar? You need glucose in your blood. If you don’t eat carbohydrates, your liver has a mechanism called gluconeogenesis. Gluconeogenesis will help your liver cells create glucose through non-sugar sources. You need about a teaspoon of sugar in your blood at any time. Gluconeogenesis will also burn an extra 250 calories a day through that process. [43:00] Studying The Ketogenic Diet on Women With Metastatic Breast Cancer Dr. Hopper did a study on women with metastatic breast cancer. He put them on a ketogenic diet. However, women have different types of breast cancers, and they are taking various types of medications. Dr. Hopper provides all the food for them; he knows exactly what they are eating. Anecdotally speaking, he has seen significant improvements. The ketogenic diet had the same effect on these women as on an average healthy population. A very positive therapeutic benefit to a well-formulated ketogenic diet is

[03:22] The Transformative Power of the Ketogenic Diet in Mental Health Long-term adherence to a ketogenic diet can lead to significant health improvements. The ketogenic diet has shown potential in improving mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Weight loss goals can serve as a powerful motivator for individuals with mental health challenges to embark on dietary changes. The ketogenic diet has the potential to reduce symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia in certain individuals. The success of the ketogenic diet in mental health has sparked scientific research and clinical trials, positioning it as a promising approach in the field of neuroscience. [13:08] Mitochondria: Its Intricate Role in Mental Health Mitochondria, often known as the powerhouse of the cell, have far-reaching functions beyond energy production. Mitochondria play critical roles in the functioning of cells, including tasks relevant to mental health. High mitochondrial concentration is observed at synapses, the communication points between neurons. Mitochondria actively contribute to neurotransmitter release and the restoration of ion gradients at synapses. Disruption of mitochondrial function at synapses can impair neurotransmitter release and impact mental health. [21:16] Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Dietary Impact on Health Mitochondrial dysfunction, characterized by oxidative stress, can lead to cell death. The standard American diet high in processed carbs and seed oils may contribute to mitochondrial dysfunction. Adopting a low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet or practicing fasting can stimulate mitochondrial adaptation and improvement. Fasting and ketogenic diet trigger autophagy, a process that removes defective proteins and promotes cellular renewal. Mitochondrial biogenesis occurs during fasting or a ketogenic diet, leading to an increase in healthy mitochondria and potentially benefiting both metabolic and mental health. [29:20] Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Neuronal Vulnerability Malfunctioning mitochondria struggle to process fuel sources, leading to insufficient ATP production and cellular dysfunction. Glycolysis becomes the alternative energy pathway in cells with dysfunctional mitochondria, resulting in lactic acid buildup and further impairments. Excessive reactive oxygen species exacerbate the cellular struggles, leading to apoptosis in most cells but posing challenges in neurons. Neurons lack programmed cell death (apoptosis) and rely on protective mechanisms, making them highly vulnerable to oxidative stress. Neuronal death and shrinkage can contrib

Dr Brian Lenzkes | Insulin Resistance & Diabetes Explained, Simple Tips to Lower A1C & Triglycerides, & The PROBLEM With Conventional Medicine KKP: 619

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Brian Lenzkes. He is an internal medicine doctor based in San Diego who has focused much of his attention on clinical nutrition. He owned his own medical practice with a group of physicians from 2004-2020. Dr. Lenzkes is co-host of the popular LowCarbMD podcast, which has more than 1.4 million downloads, and is a professional speaker. Dr. Lenzkes attended UC Irvine and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology before attending the University of Southern California Medical School. After graduating in 1999, he started his Residency Program at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. He extended his residency for a year to serve as Chief Resident before starting his private practice career at Internal Medicine Associates in 2004. Dr. Lenzkes has been voted one of the "Top Doctors" in San Diego for 11 years. Even after gaining the medical community's and his patients' respect, Dr. Lenzkes felt a void as many patients with chronic conditions became sick and required more medications. At the same time, Dr. Lenzkes battled his own weight gain while following 'standard medical advice.' In this episode, Dr. Lenzkes first reveals how he learned about a fasting and low-carb lifestyle. After trying it himself, Dr. Lenzkes lost the weight he gained while following 'standard medical advice.' Dr. Lenzkes dives deep into the correlation between high insulin levels and cardiovascular disease. If you haven't already, now is the time to check your insulin levels. Tune in as we chat about reversing type 2 diabetes, the importance of muscle mass, and the massive problem with chronic stress. [01:10] Learning About Fasting and Low-Carb In The Medical Community Throwing drugs at people with diabetes, hypertension, and obesity doesn’t do anything. One patient found fasting successful, and Dr. Lenzkes decided to research the lifestyle. After losing weight with fasting and low-carb, Dr. Lenzkes was hesitant to share this new information with his patients. Dr. Lenzkes got a lot of backlash from his colleagues. However, Dr. Lenzkes gets patients off insulin; not many people can say that. [13:30] The Correlation Between High Insulin Levels and Cardiovascular Disease There's a massive correlation between high insulin levels and cardiovascular disease. Nearly 100% of Dr. Lenzkes’s patients have never had an insulin check until seeing him. You don’t just wake up with type two diabetes; you have ten years to predict that diabetes is coming before you get it. Lower your insulin levels; that way, you won’t need as much insulin to get the desired effect. Dr. Lenzkes highly recommends checking out Dr. Jason Fung’s work. Find it here: https://www.thefastingmethod.com/. [19:40] How Exercise and Movement Will Help Prevent Type 2 Diabetes Most diabetics, if you look at their lab work untreated, they're going to have high triglycerides in that 300 to 500 range. LDL can be increased or low; it doesn't matter. HDL will be low. When you get HDL right and the triglycerides come down, you feel a lot better. Exercise and stress management is essential because it helps burn sugar and your fat reserves. When you run out of reserves, you have diabetes because the sugar stays in your bloodstream. [31:50] The Reason Doctors Don’t Talk About Diet and Lifestyle During A Visit Dr. Lenzkes uses a company called Ulta Lab Tests: https://www.ultalabtests.com/. Patients can order Ulta, or your doctor can get it for less. Doctors have been trained a certain way, so they may not want to test for insulin. Plus, doctors are pressed for time and are judged based on how many patients they see each day. Many doctors only see a patient for nine minutes. It is impossible to talk about diet and lifestyle during these visits. [36:10] Many Doctors Don’t See The Truth; Instead, They Stick With What They Learned In Medical Schools Doctors are taught that you need three meals daily, and breakfast is the day's most important meal. However, that’s simply not the case. Doctors stick with what they learn no matter what evidence says otherwise. Many doctors will see high blood pressure and tell people to cut salt. Well, salt is high because insulin is high. High insulin causes you to retain sodium in your kidney. The answer should be to lower insulin inste

[00:40] Richard Speaks About His Health Problems and How Keto Transformed His Life Richard was clinically obese, diabetic, chronically tired, depressed, anxious, and experienced debilitating migraines that would make him blind. The worst part of Richard’s health was his anxiety; he wouldn’t be able to leave his house, car, or office. Richard never felt good enough to be around other people. Eventually, Richard realized that bread made his belly swell. So, he gave it up. Within 30 days of ditching bread, Richard lost 28 pounds. Starting keto has completely changed Richard’s life; luckily, every factor of his life has improved. [26:20] Cholesterol Isn’t The Enemy; In Fact, Cholesterol is Essential For Health Cholesterol is essential for life. It's imperative for cell formation, cell communication, nutrient absorption, nutrient transportation, and hormone production. The brain and the myelin sheath are made of cholesterol. Lacking cholesterol would be detrimental to your health. There is a massive miscommunication when it comes to cholesterol. LDL is proactive; it heals the body and repairs it. The two main contributing factors to heart disease are grains and seed oils. Seed oils do not help lower cholesterol. Reducing carbohydrates and seed oils is the best way to have healthy LDL. [35:00] Is Your Cholesterol Profile Damaged? Richard Explains Where Your Markers Should Be There’s a simple way to see whether your cholesterol profile is damaged. Triglycerides are one of the most significant factors; aim for less than 0.5%. HDL should be greater than 1.5. The triglyceride to HDL ratio should be below one. You’re in good shape if your cholesterol profile is around these markers. Remember, cholesterol is essential for life; every cell in the body is made of cholesterol. [39:45] You Can’t Store Fat Without Insulin From Carbohydrates, Sugars, and Seed Oils We can’t store fat without insulin. Insulin is secreted by the pancreas when we consume carbohydrates. Many people will eat carbs before going to the gym to have the energy to burn fat. However, when insulin is elevated, it tells the body to store fat. Eating carbs will make it almost impossible for us to burn fat for fuel. Insulin puts a biological lock on our fat stores and prevents them from leaving. Carbohydrates and sugars will increase insulin. Seed oils will also impact insulin; they cause insulin resistance. [42:40] The Foods You Eat Could Be Blocking Your Ability To Feel Full Leptin is a satiety hormone. It tells us that we have eaten and that we are full. Seed oils will block leptin. If you aren’t feeling full, you will consume more food. Grains are high in lectins; they cause five times more fat storage than insulin. Lectins in grains will also block leptin. [49:55] Richard Reveals A Simple Test To Tell If You’re Insulin Resistant As a world, we are insulin resistant. In fact, 95% of people are insulin resistant. Diabetes will start with food choices that began ten to fifteen years prior. There’s a simple way to test if you suffer from insulin resistance. You have insulin resistance if you have an overhang over your pants, belt, or skirt. Restrict carbohydrates, and you will see a reduction in insulin levels. You don’t need a myriad of medications to solve insulin resistance. AND MUCH MORE! Zane Griggs | The TRUTH About Bio-Identical Hormones, Carnivore Calcium Score Results, & The 3 Pillars of Health KKP: 616

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Zane Griggs. He is an Optimal Health & Longevity Consultant, an expert in the field of health focusing on preventing diseases, slowing aging, and living longer. Zane Griggs is the author of the book "Low Carb Lifestyle & Weight Loss Made Simple" and his newest release, “Kicking Ass After 50,” which tackles how you can get optimal health at your age. In this episode, Zane Grigs discusses why you should prioritize having longevity goals rather than performance and fitness goals. He also talks about why nutrition and focusing on your diet first is important. Additionally, he also shares his thoughts on testosterone injections. Tune in as we chat about longevity goals over performance and fitness goals, sleep, nutrition, diet, the power of zero calcium score, and testosterone injections. ● Zane Griggs Kicking Ass After 50 book on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Kicking-Ass-After-Ken-Berry/dp/B0C1J5BNWW/benazadi-20 Join my 90 day heavy metals detox program (6 spots left) http://www.ketokampdetox.com Order Keto Flex: http://www.ketoflexbook.com -------------------------------------------------------- Download your FREE Vegetable Oil Allergy Card here: https://onlineoffer.lpages.co/vegetable-oil-allergy-card-download/ / / E P I S O D E S P ON S O R S Wild Pastures: $20 OFF per Box for Life + Free Shipping for Life + $15 OFF your 1st Box! https://wildpastures.com/promos/save-20-for-life-lf?oid=6&affid=132&source_id=podcast&sub1=ad BonCharge: Blue light Blocking Glasses, Red Light Therapy, Sauna Blankets & More. [9:41] Why Having Longevity Goals Better Than Performance and Fitness Goals? - Fitness goals are driven by initial vanity, and performance goal mainly focuses on eating to improve your performance. But both goals do not translate to longevity. - For longevity, you need to consider how your eating and doing affect certain markers in your bloodwork. - Body scans and blood work should be superior to having a good outward appearance. - You can have fitness and performance goals, but longevity goals should be prioritized. [17:53] Sleep, Nutrition, & Diet: Which One is The Most Important? - Start with your diet first. - Diet is what you do. Every day, it's a conscious effort. It's where you start balancing your hormones out. - If you start exercising, most people will get hungry, which goes back to the diet. [24:06] Get a Calcium Score and Strive to Achieve The Power of Zero - Zane has a zero-calcium score with his animal meat diet. - Everyone should have a goal of getting a zero score on calcium score. - The calcium score is the ultimate test to see if you are at risk. - It’s important for people to get a calcium score. [32:53] Testosterone Injections: Should You Do It or Avoid It? - Once you get past your late 40s to 50s, you can be optimizing all of your lifestyle habits and still have a free testosterone level in the single digits, and there's not much more you can do to improve it. - What happens when testosterone is low is that it’s more about personal drive and libido, creativity, brain fog, and your ability to focus. - It’s up to men to decide. - Hormone replacement therapy is a game changer for men and women in their 50s or 60s. - Hormone replacement therapy should never be a substitute for poor lifestyle choices. [47:12] Kicking Ass After 50: The Book Is Written for Men, But What about Women? - Every principle in the book regarding diet, exercise and sleep applies to humans. - Whatever a guy would do to optimize his testosterone would work for optimizing any sex hormone. - The book talks revolve around men, but if you’re a woman and it doesn’t bother you, read it by all means. - What guys want to consume is something that is concise, easy to put in place, and straight to the point. But certainly, all the information applies to men and women of all ages. AND MUCH MORE! Dr Steven Gundry | How Ketones Supercharge Your Mitochondria & Help You Lose Weight! KKP: 614

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Steven Gundry. He is a cum laude graduate of Yale University with special honors in Human Biological and Social Evolution. After graduating Alpha Omega Alpha from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine, Dr. Steven Gundry completed residencies in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Michigan and served as a Clinical Associate at the National Institutes of Health for years. There, he invented devices that reverse the cell death seen in acute heart attacks; variations of these devices subsequently became the Gundry™ Retrograde Cardioplegia Cannula. It has become the world's most widely used device of its kind to protect the heart from damage during open-heart surgery. In 2002, Dr. Gundry met someone who would change the trajectory of his career… and life. He crossed paths with an "inoperable" patient named “Big Ed”. Using a combination of dietary changes and nutraceutical supplements — Big Ed lost weight and cleared most of his arterial blockages. An obese, chronic "diet" failure himself, Dr. Gundry adapted his Yale University thesis to design a diet for himself based on evolutionary genetic coding. On this diet, he lost weight — to the tune of 70 pounds — and reversed his own ailments, such as migraines, pre-diabetic status, and arthritis. He stopped eating sugar, grains, peanuts and cashews, nightshades and other lectin-heavy foods. Having experienced weight loss and the results of eating a lectin-free and gluten-free diet himself, and inspired by growing research involving the NIH’s Human Microbiome Project, his commitment to better health and longevity through a better diet solidified. His work creating nutraceutical products and supplements advanced. He is now the leading expert on the lectin-free lifestyle as the key to reversing disease and healing a leaky gut. Dr. Steven Gundry freely shares his research on how to maintain a healthy microbiome and live a long, vital life via his best-selling books, YouTube channel, Gundry MD blogs, and weekly health podcast, The Dr. Gundry Podcast. In this episode, Dr. Gundry defines ketosis and explains the direct benefit that ketones have on the brain. Plus, Dr. Gundry dives deep into the mitochondria and why they have to uncouple to survive. You’ll find out what the “mito club” is and why calorie restriction is a non-starter, and it simply does not work. [00:50] Dr. Gundry Gives His Definition of Ketosis Generating ketone bodies is done by free fatty acids entering the liver from circulation. The liver can convert free fatty acids into ketone bodies. Ketone bodies are short-chain fats that are water-soluble. Ketones have a distinct benefit in getting to the brain, which free fatty acids can't because they're too big to get through the blood-brain barrier. Ketosis should happen every night after about eight hours of not eating if you are metabolically flexible. 50% of ordinary people are not metabolically flexible. [03:50] Uncoupling To Survive: How The Mitochondria Release Pressure Dr. Gundry recommends reading Uncoupling To Survive: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11053672/ When you're starving to death, mitochondria have to save themselves at all costs. If mitochondria die, then it’s all over. Making energy is hard work; it’s very damaging to mitochondria. Mitochondria have to have ways of protecting themselves, and one of the ways they protect themselves is to release pressure. There are five pressure release valves for the mitochondria. We couple oxygen and protons to make ATP. If we uncouple the burning of oxygen from making ATP, that’s how we release pressure. [21:05] The Reason, Most People, Cannot Get Into Ketosis Right Away Most people can not get into ketosis by following a high-fat diet because they lack metabolic flexibility. Many people are insulin resistant. Their cells no longer listen to insulin, so insulin keeps rising and rising. It can take three to four weeks to liberate fat from fat cells on a ketogenic diet because insulin levels stay high for so long. The ketogenic diet came about to treat childhood epilepsy. If you put kids on an MCT oil-based diet, with only about 50% of their calories

[3:01] Overcoming Fear Through Faith: Doing What Is Right in the Face of Adversity - The people in power called Joel a direct threat even without proving anything because he chose not to get vaccinated. - The vaccine doesn’t stop transmission; based on a study, people with the product have more viral load than those without. - Joel was okay with letting go of his job because he believed he was being protected and promoted to do other things by the higher power and the universal being. - Fear is contagious. But so is courage. And when people that are courageous bond together, amazing things happen. [15:44] Joel’s Journey on How He Was Able To Share The Truth in TV Stations - In the beginning, nobody wanted to cover Joel’s story. - There are some criminal things done by the SF Police Department. They broke some laws to silence people such as Joel. - Joel took massive hard work and effort to be at Fox News. - You can be the catalyst for a movement, to stand for what is right, not what is easy. [20:12] Ignite: What Are The Important Principles About Mindset? - The biggest challenge people now have is their mindset, not exercise. - Stop trying to change the outside world. You got to change yourself, the inner you. Once you change that, then everything else changes. - Limiting beliefs and emotional issues halt your growth. If you can remove many of those blockages, you will succeed. - The world has given you everything you need, just get out of its way and stop interfering with it. You're creating the interference, not how you think of it. - You don't know where you're going if you're not committed and don't understand your Northstar and what you want to do in life. [33:27] Intentionality and Consistency: Learn This To Be Fit And Healthy - It’s not true that you got to tear the muscle to regrow it and gain muscles. - Science shows that you need to create a stimulus enough to create a deficit so that the brain sees a deficit and that gaining more nutrients and muscle is needed. - It's not tearing the muscle; it's creating the stimulus. The body needs to recognize that it needs to build muscle. - By doing this workout style, you can repeatedly hit the same muscle group in a week and not feel sore. - This style of workout is not just effective but also time-efficient. [41:36] Sugar Cravings and Why It Is Connected To Neurotransmitters - Chemicals and flavouring experts are used in foods to deceive our brains into eating, and we now have an obesity issue. - When we have cravings, it's being stimulated through the dopamine pathway. - If you can shower the body with this liking or opioid pathway, it can blunt the dopamine pathway. - You can eat a minimum of high-quality chocolate to activate the liking pathway and lose the foods that trigger your cravings. Balancing mTOR and Autophagy The mTOR pathway is our building pathway. It's about building muscle tissue; it handles growth and cell reproduction. Kids have a high driving mTOR because their bodies are growing fast. The same goes for pregnant women. We still want activity in the mTOR pathway, mainly because we want to maintain lean body tissue, be resilient, and be fit. Basically, mTOR helps us be strong, healthy, and preserve muscle tissue. However, when mTOR is turned on all the time, now we end up with too much inflammation. Autophagy will help you find balance because it suppresses mTOR. What Happens When Our Body Gets Rid of A Cell? When your body gets rid of a cell, it will replace it. It creates new young embryonic cells with more stress resiliency and stronger mitochondria. When we have these senescence cells that are continuing to divide, they create more copies of badly damaged cells. So instead, we want to get rid of those, or we want to repair them before they become a zombie cell. If they've already become zombies, we get rid of them and replace them with these young embryonic stem cells. Why Dr. Jockers Loves Keto Keto just allows his brain to function at its best; it's really a state of thriving. When ketones are elevated, your body becomes highly energy efficient. He feels more at peace and calmer when he is in ketosis. In ketosis, your brain can function at a higher level, and you can create at a higher level. In human history, when they didn't have food, they needed to become creative, and they needed to be resilient. If we are always well-fed, then we become lazy. Ketones have allowed humanity to survive times of famine, stress, and challenge. Overall, ketosis primes us for optimum health. The Importance of Fasting on Your Health Journey If you can fast for twenty-four hours, that's a sign that you are metabolically fit. Also, that's a sign that you are insulin sensitive, and just about all chronic diseases are related to insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, and gut dysbiosis. Fasting also has a powerful effect on enhancing healing of the gut lining and enhancing the microbiome's diversity. 90 to 95% of chronic diseases would be gone if people did a twenty-four-hour fast once a week. We would get rid of more diseases by focusing on nutritional habits and intermittent fasting. Why We Don’t Want To Do Keto Forever Keto is a nutrition plan that, in a sense, mimics fasting in that it keeps insulin down. We need higher insulin for short periods to tell the body to produce certain hormones and tell the body to build and grow. We want to replenish our bodies entirely and make the hormones we need to thrive. Sex hormones, for example, and thyroid hormones, depend upon enough insulin to get the right amount of stimulation. Many people, they're already producing too much insulin. Once insulin gets down, we want to elevate it for short periods then drop it down again. Andreas Wecker | How to Fix Your Cell Membrane With Quality Omega 6 & 3 Fats KKP: 611

Today, I am blessed to have Andreas Wecker. Andreas is an Olympic gold medalist and the founder of Andreas Seed Oils. He is known for his incredible career as a gymnast, competing for Germany in national and world championships, including the Olympics. His greatest achievement was winning the gold medal on the high bar at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, but his Olympic career was cut short due to an injury sustained in 2000. After retiring, Andreas continued performing as an exhibitionist but struggled with severe pain that required a combination of painkillers, aspirin, and coffee for 14 years. In 2004, he stepped away from athletics and stopped taking the pills, which led to a rapid decline in his health in 2006, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of Crohn's disease and a difficult treatment journey. A friend of Andreas recommended fresh-pressed flaxseed oil to supplement his Crohn's disease treatment. He began taking it alongside their prescribed medication and noticed positive changes in his condition. He reduced his pill intake and stopped taking medication for Crohn's disease entirely after three months of supplementing with flaxseed oil. Diet modification and taking the oil changed Andreas’ approach to managing his health problems. The experience inspired his true calling; to create high-quality oils to improve overall health. In this episode, Andreas shares the story of his struggle with chronic illness and how he rediscovered his health. Tune in as he discusses and answers questions about his life journey, available oils in the market, estrogen presence in oils, and many more! [08:03] Bucking the System: Andreas’ Journey to Gold · Andreas won his gold medal in the Olympics by not following the system and developing things his way. He listened but did not necessarily follow what he was told to do. · Not everything you listen to is truth; finding the truth takes work. · Learning comes from trying, making mistakes, changing something, and trying again. · He learned many things through self-study and interest, including technology, mechanics, electricity, frequency, light, and structured water. [16:21] Are Consuming Seed Oils Safe and Healthy? · There are a lot of misconceptions around terms like "cold-pressed" and "virgin". · The temperature limit for cold-pressed is not officially defined. · Some companies use steam to press their oils, which can lead to cooking. · Grinding is the main problem with cold-pressing, not necessarily the heat. · Heavy metals are a big problem in the oil industry. · Metal in the body causes inflammation and can lead to health issues. · Removing heavy metals from one’s body can clear brain fog and improve mental clarity. [24:00] Plastic vs. Glass: The Truth About Estrogen in Oils · Plastic is estrogenic, which means it can get into the oil and then into the person who consumes it. · Many people buy oils and may unknowingly consume estrogen from the plastic bottles that contain them. · It’s highly recommended to buy oils in glass bottles instead of plastic ones. [33:56] Investing in Quality Seed Oils for a Healthier You · The body uses estrogen for a lot of different purposes. · Beer is a high source of estrogen. · Flaxseed oil can help with weight loss and better sleep since it goes into the brain, which needs the Omega three that it contains. · Money is not Andreas’ goal, and he invested in his company to produce seed oils without increasing prices. · Black cumin seed oil has shown amazing results in helping with COVID.
