[17:30] Feedback Systems, Prolonged Insulin Levels, and the Balancing Act of Blood Sugar Regulation - The body has feedback systems to stabilize blood sugar, such as the release of stored sugar (glycogen) from the liver and the ability to burn body fat for energy. - High insulin levels, which may persist longer than elevated blood sugar, can go undetected for an extended period. - Elevated insulin levels over time can lead to a buildup in the blood. - High insulin levels interfere with the body's ability to utilize stored sugar from the liver, preventing it from entering the system for energy use. - The continuous presence of insulin signals the body to store fat instead of burning it. [23:30] Protein First: A Blueprint for Satiety, Tissue Repair, and Blood Sugar Stability - Eating protein first is recommended as it helps the body reach its protein threshold, crucial for rebuilding tissues with amino acids. - Prioritizing protein ensures that the body receives the necessary amount of this essential macronutrient. - When protein is consumed first, it naturally regulates appetite, making it easier to recognize satiety. - By reaching the protein threshold, the body signals fullness, preventing overconsumption of other items on the plate. - Protein is the most satiating macronutrient and contributes to stabilizing blood sugar levels. [33:10] Navigating Individual Responses with Continuous Glucose Monitors and Personalization - Continuous glucose monitors are valuable tools, but individual responses to various factors must be considered. - Personal factors such as sleep quality, exercise intensity, hormonal fluctuations, stress levels, and mineral balance can significantly impact blood sugar responses. - The key is recognizing the need for personalization and understanding that what works for one person may not work the same way for another. - General starting points for blood sugar management are helpful, but there is a need for more granularity and personalization. [38:50] Blood Sugar Spikes and the Silent Impact - Some individuals may experience blood sugar spikes without feeling noticeable symptoms. - The absence of symptoms doesn't necessarily indicate a lack of impact, and CGM helps reveal these invisible fluctuations, emphasizing the importance of monitoring beyond subjective feelings. - Blood sugar responses vary among individuals due to factors such as sleep quality, exe

Today, I am blessed to have Abel James with me for the second time. He is a best-selling author, top 10 app developer, musician, radio show host, entrepreneur, and health crusader, Abel James. Abel’s work has been featured in WIRED Magazine, Paleo Living, and hundreds of media outlets in business, technology, psychology, and health. A former strategic advisor to the food and beverage industry, Abel now acts as a consumer advocate who exposes the truth behind deceptive marketing practices, misleading corporate propaganda, and powerful special interests that have accelerated the worldwide obesity epidemic and health crisis. Abel harnesses the techniques he developed for the Wild Diet to achieve extremely compelling fat loss and health results for his clients and the community. Abel’s quick-start guide, Intro to Paleo and The Musical Brain, are distinguished as #1 Amazon bestsellers in health and psychology. The Musical Brain explores evolutionary biology and how musical training and experience affect the brain. Abel and his team developed Caveman Feast, the #1 App in Food and Drink worldwide and the #6 App overall in the Apple Store in 2013. Abel has advised Fortune 500 and federal government clients, including Microsoft, State Street Global Advisors, Lockheed Martin, the Department of Education, the Department of Labor, and the Library of Congress. In this episode, Abel opens the show by speaking about social media's negative impacts on our health. Instead, we need to focus on falling back in love with the right media types. Then, Abel jumps into keto flexing and the importance of metabolic flexibility. Abel explains why he’s such a massive fan of intermittent fasting, but of course, your feasting days are just as critical. This episode originally aired in May 2022. [06:05] The Negative Impacts of Social Media on Our Health Once you get started on social media, you will never have enough. Social media is so superficial that it’s challenging to post anything meaningful. Instead, we should be falling in love with the right kind of media. Social media is making people anxious and bummed out. [16:10] If You Want To Grow A Brand, You Need To Have A Podcast If you want to create content for the rest of your life, start a podcast. The problem with podcasting is oversaturation. Eventually, there will be more podcasts than there are listeners. A podcast is something that you own. Whereas your TikTok channel isn’t something that you own. This will be critical as we look toward the future of the decentralization of media. [19:45] How You Can Apply Keto Flexing To Your Life Many people think that going hard is better. However, it’s all about finding balance. If you want to build muscle, then insulin is not your enemy, and neither is glucose. Whether you like it or not, you’ll go back to eating carbs for one reason or another. Being able to store carbs on the shelf is really important. You need to learn how to use and store all the different macronutrients, including carbs. Remember, you can’t eat 350 grams of processed carbs a day and expect to see results. [27:00] Why Abel Loves Intermittent Fasting and How It Helps With Mental Strength Abel loves how simple fasting is. Fasting can mentally and spiritually build strength. There are many ways to approach fasting. Abel got into fasting by pushing breakfast until later in the day. We are taught that the more you eat, the more strength you build. However, Abel had to overcome that type of thinking. Eventually, Abel started eating one meal a day. Abel recommends reading The Warrior Diet: Switch on Your Biological Powerhouse For High Energy, Explosive Strength, and a Leaner, Harder Body: https://www.amazon.com/Warrior-Diet-Biological-Powerhouse-Explosive/dp/1583942009/benazadi-20. [33:35] Why Feasting Is Just As Important As Fasting What we put in our bodies matters. Your eating can result in massive deficiencies or a relative abundance of multiple nutrients. You can approach health in a way that is creative and fun. Feasting is a way to nourish your body in a nutrient-dense way. Try and make feasting as enjoyable and as high-quality as you possibly can. Dr Emily Rowe | Beyond Symptoms: Unveiling the True Cause of Illness in Our Bodies KKP: 708
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Emily Rowe. She graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2004 with a doctorate degree in medicine. After a brief time in the field of Internal Medicine, she became frustrated with the Western approach to illness. She realized that she was being trained to treat the symptoms of disease and its end-stage complications, while failing to address its root cause. Inspired to find a comprehensive and definitive way to heal her patients, she went back to school and completed her Master’s Degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (Master of Oriental Medicine) in 2009. She and her husband, Christopher M. Estes MD, opened the Miami Beach Comprehensive Wellness Center in 2017. In this episode, Dr. Emily takes us through the intricate web of factors that affect our health, often lurking beneath the surface. She sheds light on the challenges of maintaining health, emphasizing how elevated toxic burdens or chronic infections can impact the body's pathophysiology, leading to issues like hormone imbalances and irregular blood sugar. Dr. Emily draws intriguing connections between heavy metal toxicity and cardiovascular problems, highlighting the role of metals as conductors that can disrupt the heart's electrical conductivity system, contributing to conditions like hypertension and atrial fibrillation. Join us on this enlightening journey with Dr. Emily as she uncovers the hidden factors affecting our health and provides valuable insights for a holistic approach to well-being. She emphasizes that elevated toxic burden or chronic infections can significantly impact the body's pathophysiology, leading to issues like hormone imbalances and blood sugar irregularities. Dr. Emily draws a connection between heavy metal toxicity and various cardiovascular problems. She notes that metals, acting as conductors, can disrupt the heart's electrical conductivity system, potentially contributing to conditions such as hypertension and atrial fibrillation. The importance of addressing chronic stealth infections, including Lyme, Bartonella, and mold, is underscored. These infections can play a crucial role in complex chronic medical illnesses, affecting various bodily functions. A combination of factors, such as traumatic events, environmental exposures, and unresolved emotional challenges, can contribute to the development of chronic illnesses. [17:10] Metals, Tea, and Health Threads: Navigating Risks Dr. Emily sheds light on the potential risks of being an avid tea drinker, especially when it comes to the interaction between tea's slight acidity and mercury from dental fillings. The Clifford test, exploring immune reactivity to metals, becomes a crucial tool in understanding allergic reactions. There is a connection between tendinitis and heavy metal toxicity. Linking this to Chinese medicine, Dr. Emily notes the impact on the liver, which governs tendons and sinews. Exploring the intricate relationship between oxalates, heavy metals, and connective tissue, Dr. Emily warns against high oxalate diets. The combination can create a problematic mesh within connective tissue, emphasizing the importance of a gradual approach to removal due to potential health risks. [29:00] Decoding the Neurological Maze: Mold Exposure and Intricate Challenges Dr. Emily unravels the intricate relationship between mold exposure and neurological challenges, emphasizing the principle of "like dissolves like." Mold, being a fat-soluble toxin, particularly targets the brain and nerves composed of fat, often triggering peculiar neurological symptoms. Patients may present with nuanced diagnoses from neurologists, such as one-sided Parkinson's. Dr. Emily highlights the difficulty in addressing mold issues, urging patients to test their living environments first and foremost. Despite the financial challenges, creating a mold-free environment or relocating becomes imperative for lasting recovery. [43:15] The Power of Nitric Oxide: Dr. Emily's Exercise Insights In the pursuit of optimizing nitric oxide levels, Dr. Emily advocates for the unparalleled ben

[00:30] Risa Speaks About Her Background and Finding The Root Cause of Her Autoimmune Disease Risa grew up in a family where everybody was always on a diet. She was fascinated by why some foods are considered good while others are considered bad. At one point, Risa was having fertility issues. She found out that she had a low-functioning thyroid. The doctor gave Risa medication that she was supposed to take for the rest of her life. Eventually, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's. Risa had no idea why her thyroid was attacking itself. [07:15] What Risa Will Test For When It Comes To Thyroid Issues Risa tests for all nine markers of the thyroid. Then, Risa will help people create T4; it is 93% of the equation. T4 needs to convert to T3; that is your active thyroid hormone, and it’s only 7% of the equation. When Risa tests for hormones, she looks at free and total. Free means it’s usable to the body, and the total is not useable. Plus, Risa will look at reverse T3; it’s when stress hormones could be pulling T3 and reversing it. Also, Risa looks at T3 uptake. It’s when sex hormones can compete with the thyroid. Lastly, Risa looks at TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies. [12:10] Risa Explains What Is Wrong With The Word “Diet” People associate diet with deprivation. We should not be depriving ourselves. If your children are hungry, you feed them. Diet has been marketed as a temporary deprivation for weight loss. In reality, weight loss is a side effect of wellness. Instead, you need to eat real food to lose weight. You shouldn’t care about the numbers on the scale; instead, you should care about the numbers on the blood work. [16:35] Which FoodFrame Is Best For You? Take the FoodFrame Quiz: https://www.risagrouxnutrition.com/diet-quiz The first step is to detox; you need to clean your body. Unfortunately, the FDA has approved 86,000 chemicals for us to use. Sadly, most of them aren’t even tested. We accumulate toxins in what we eat, breathe, and put on our skin. The average female comes in contact with 200 toxins before leaving the bathroom each morning. After you detox, there are six different eating lifestyles to choose from. You need to eat according to your health status. [20:50] You Can Reverse Insulin Resistance By Using Food One out of three children born today will be type two diabetic. Everyone has high blood sugar. We are eating way too many carbs, and we are eating way too often. High blood sugar will bring you into third state inflammation. Risa will look extensively at blood sugars. Remember, insulin resistance is 100% reversible. Risa will use keto for anyone who is diabetic or pre-diabetic. Also, if you have insulin resistance, Risa will suggest keto. Keto is not suitable for people who have fat malabsorption. Risa uses GI-

He has always been a leader, and lifelong student, in designing products for new and emerging needs. In this episode, Michael talks about how he got involved in the biohacking space, and the inspiration behind H.V.M.N. Michael explains why Americans can significantly benefit from a ketogenic lifestyle and how exogenous ketones can fit into your diet. H.V.M.N. is a drinkable ketone; Michael describes how their products differ from their competition. Tune in as we chat about MCT powder, biohacks, and who should be careful about taking exogenous ketones. [00:40] How Michael Got Involved In The Biohacking Space When the keto diet started to take off, Michael wanted to figure out how ketones could be made. In 2017, Michael and his business partner launched their first ketone drink. Luckily, their first big customer was the United States Department of Defense. It’s important to know that drinking a ketone is not the same as doing a ketogenic diet. There’s a lot of research going on, and it’s an exciting time for ketones! [04:10] Why You May Benefit From A Ketogenic Lifestyle COVID highlighted the metabolic dysfunction that is going on in society. If you have a less metabolically healthy profile, you're more susceptible to COVID. There’s an even bigger pandemic than COVID; it’s metabolic health. 88% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy. All Americans can benefit from a ketogenic lifestyle because it can help improve their metabolic health. [07:20] What Makes H.V.M.N. Different From Other Companies A lot of brands are making great products that include exogenous ketones. H.V.M.N. does not include any seed oils. Their whole breakthrough was making a natural pure ketone that doesn't have salt. The ketones go directly to blood BHB and elevate your blood ketone levels. The Department of Defense was interested because they have been researching ketones since the early 2000s. H.V.M.N. has made the most effective ketone delivery mechanism. Overall, it works better than ketone salts. [15:35] Why You May Want To Avoid Exogenous Ketones If you have any liver issues, then avoid exogenous ketones. There are calories in ketones. Ketones will temporarily slow down your body’s rate of producing its own ketones from fat. So, if your goal is fasting with zero calories, you may want to avoid exogenous ketones. You want to use exogenous ketones in conjunction with other metabolically healthy exercises. You shouldn’t have exogenous ketones on top of a bad diet. [31:10] Some Biohacks To Try While Using Ketone-IQ Ketone-IQ™️ is a drinkable ketone designed to be taken daily to support mental clarity, athletic performance, and metabolic health. If you are feeling sluggish, Ketone-IQ can help you immensely. Athletes are using Ketone-IQ to improve performance. [43:50] What To Know About C8, The Most Ketogenic MCT MCT means medium chain triglyceride. MCT fats are the most ketogenic; they can readily turn into ketones. C8 specifically can turn into ketones endogenously better than all the other MCTs. If you’re going to get any type of MCT out there, look for pure C8. [01:00] Authenticity Will Be Your Best Path To Find Healing on Your Health Journey When are you pretending to be someone you’re not? Whenever you pretend to be someone else, you’re telling yourself that you’re not enough. Authenticity is one of the most significant paths to healing. You can only heal yourself by being aligned. [09:10] Value Is Placed On Your Relationship Status - It’s Time To Change The Status Quo In society, your value is placed on your relationship status. People ask why you’re single. They ask when you’re getting engaged. When you’re engaged, they ask when you will get married. If you get divorced, then people think that means you failed. Well, one of the greatest gifts we can give is recognizing the value of goodbyes. Sometimes, the most loving thing you can do is leave. After three months of engagement, Mark left his relationship. [17:00] Stress and High Conflict Relationships Are Creating Poor Health High conflict couples have higher amounts of leaky gut. There’s an inflammatory process that occurs when we're dysregulated. When you avoid chaos on the outside, you internalize it. If you’re anxious about something, it can lead to a sick stomach. The journey of relationships is teaching us how incredibly wise we are. [22:10] Are You Going To A Job That You Hate? Stop Doing Things You Don’t Love Most heart attacks happen on Monday morning between 8 am and 9 am. Your body gives many warnings; it’s normal to live through those warnings. When we perpetually do things we don’t love, it sends the message that we don’t believe in ourselves. If you want to find what matters to you, then find what breaks your heart. After Mark’s relationship ended, he felt so connected to himself. However, he was judged by everyone for it. [27:45] Please Avoid Losing Yourself In Your Relationships When a relationship ends, you’ll hear people say, “they took a part of me.” In society, we are taught that people complete us. Also, it’s normal to give up everything for love. However, if you lose your relationship, you end up losing yourself. [39:40] Why You Shouldn’t Feel Guilty About Expressing Boundaries When you are afraid to express a boundary, it comes from a beautiful place. If you don’t want to communicate your boundaries, most likely, you are trying to protect other people from experiencing feelings. When Mark quit drinking, he feared what other people would think of him at weddings, bachelor parties, and guys trips. However, Mark had gone to his first wedding sober and had the time of his life. If you’re not expressing boundaries, you are making other people’s feelings more important than your own. [47:00] Allow Other People To Be Disappointed Because Boundaries Will Preserve Your Wholeness Allow other people to be disappointed. Don’t try and save people from disappointment, and don’t let their disappointment correlate to how you feel about yourself. Boundaries will preserve wholeness. When you declare a boundary, you have your own back. [57:40] Take The Time To Learn About Love Love is a verb. If we make withdrawals from our love accounts, we can also make deposits. Great relationships don’t just come to people; they are created through behaviors. We need to take the time to learn love, and everyone can
Robbie Bent | How Breath-Control Can Transform Your Health, How to Face the Fear & Do It Anyway! KKP: 698
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Robbie Bent. In an effort to affect positive change and address the problem of loneliness and the detrimental effects it has on our individual and collective health, Robbie built a platform that includes physical spaces, a mobile app, a concert tour and a global community. Othership is a digital product to shift your state whenever and wherever you are. Robbie’s app consists of over 250 guided breathwork classes to harness the power of the breath and build promoting habits. A transformative tool that makes up-regulating, down-regulating, and everything in between easeful, effective, and fun. He also goes on tour with live musical breathwork performances, sort of like a Cirque Du Soleil journey inward. In this episode, Robbie speaks about his rock bottom and what he had to do to turn his life around. He talks about the importance of meditation and what it’s like to meditate for ten hours a day for ten days. Then, Robbie dives into breathwork and how breathing can completely change your state. If you’re looking for a free and easy biohack, breathing can be a simple way to improve your health. [00:35] How Robbie Bent Got To Where He Is Now At 28, Robbie had been working for four years on a startup. One hundred people were working for him, his parents and friends had invested millions of dollars, and his entire income was tied up. The company failed, and Robbie had to fire one hundred people. Robbie sold his car, moved out of his apartment, and moved back in with his parents. Plus, Robbie was struggling with addiction. After reading The 4-hour Workweek, Robbie turned his life around. Get The 4-hour Workweek here: https://www.amazon.com/4-Hour-Workweek-Escape-Live-Anywhere/dp/0307465357/benazadi-20 [08:00] What It Is Like To Meditate Ten Hours A Day For Ten Days It doesn't really matter how much you've been practicing; the difficulty of meditating for ten hours is still the same. After the first few days, you start to ease into the routine. We are always turned on, and we are never bored. How often are you just sitting? Almost never. So, meditating is a nice way to interrupt your routine. [10:55] How Breath-Control Can Change Your State and Heart Rate The breath controls our autonomic nervous system. When you're naturally calm, you will breathe slower. You can actually use your breath to trigger your state. If you need energy in the morning, try sympathetic breathing. Parasympathetic breathing will help you relax. The best way to get into the parasympathetic nervous system is by lengthening the exhale and including breath retention. A big breath in will increase the heart rate and energy. If you are nervous, you need long and slow exhales. [18:00] All About Othership And Finding Peak Experiences A peak experience can happen through breathwork. Othership will help shift your state and quiet the thinking mind. During Covid, Robbie created fear release sessions. The app was created to help people who are struggling with meditation. Plus, there’s a physical space where Robbie has created a community to solve the loneliness pandemic. [23:25] How Doing Breathwork Can Help You Digest Food Better When you do slow breathing, you’re triggering the parasympathetic state. You will be sending blood flow from the brain and muscles to the organs. That way, you are preparing your body for digestion. Also, eat without looking at your phone. The best thing you can do is be aware while you’re eating. [26:30] Why You Should Practice Breathwork Before Going To Sleep If you eat something acidic before bed, it can affect sleep. Your body needs to regulate its pH balance. As a result, it starts over breathing This can cause dehydration in the evening. If you wake up with a dry mouth, you are mouth breathing. Something you can try is mouth tape. Meditation and breathwork before bed can help with inflammation, breathing patterns, sleep, and dehydration. [29:45] How Breathing Can Replace Caffeine and Increase Blood Flow The “up” section in Othership is creating a fight or flight response. This type of breathwork will send blood
Dr Stephen Sideroff | How to Raise Heart Rate Variability by Becoming More Resilient & Practicing Gratitude KKP: 697
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Stephen Sideroff. Dr. Stephen Sideroff is an internationally recognized expert in resilience, optimal performance, addiction, neurofeedback, and alternative approaches to stress and mental health. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences, with a joint appointment in the Department of Rheumatology at UCLA’s School of Medicine, as well as the Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Ethics. For over 40 years, Dr. Sideroff has been passionate about studying and understanding resilience and optimal performance. He has developed and established innovative models of behavior and treatment approaches for restoring physical, emotional, and mental balance and effectiveness in North America, Europe, and Asia. In this episode, Dr. Sideroff talks about why we decided to dedicate his life to resilience. Unfortunately, many people have great resistance to managing their stress. That’s why Dr. Sideroff discusses the importance of keeping your nervous system in a good place, how your childhood environment plays a role in your resilience, and unpacking the unconscious to face difficult feelings. Tune in as we dive into Dr. Sideroff’s Resilience Assessment Booklet and how to measure a critical aspect of your physiology. [00:35] Why Dr. Sideroff Decided To Dedicate His Life To Resilience Dr. Sideroff has always been interested in studying the brain mechanisms of learning and memory. He was interested in finding the brain's connections, so he started a career as a brain researcher. Eventually, he started doing stress management workshops for organizations and corporations. After the workshops, people felt inspired to make changes in their lives. A few months later, very few people actually followed through with those changes. Down the road, Dr. Sideroff began to identify why we have great resistance to managing our stress. [05:45] Keeping The Nervous System In A Good Place Through Resilience When we think about resilience, we think about the ability to bounce back and recover after a stressful event. If you view the world as dangerous, you expect a problem to arise. When you anticipate danger, your body mobilizes for that danger. If you're continually activating your nervous system in preparation for danger, you're not allowing your body to recover fully. The ability to bounce back is part of resilience. [09:40] How The Environment of Our Childhood Will Affect Our Resilience Primitive Gestalt patterns are how our brain develops throughout childhood based on the lessons of our childhood environment. Our brain literally forms its circuitry based on those childhood lessons. We adapt to our childhood environment. Then our adaptation gets locked in. If our childhood was dangerous, we as adults continue to think the world is just as dangerous. Resilience is about being able to think outside the box and adapt to our current environment. Many of the consequences of our childhood are not something that we're always conscious about. [14:50] Unpacking The Unconscious To Live A Happier Life The first step in unpacking the unconscious is a willingness to face complicated feelings, emotions, and issues. Next, you have to be accepting of whatever emotions you have. You can love your mother and father yet still be angry at them. Living a happier and healthier life is about a willingness to grow up. [20:50] The First Three Pillars From The Path: Mastering the Nine Pillars of Resilience and Success What is the most crucial relationship that you have? It’s the relationship with yourself. Consider these questions: Are you critical and judgmental of yourself? Do you put yourself down? Are you loving, accepting, and compassionate toward yourself? The first pillar is all about how you treat yourself and then comparing that to the healthy or ideal way of treating yourself. You can do this by becoming consciously aware of your thoughts. The second pillar is your relationship with others. Are you able to tell the difference between healthy and toxic relationships? The third pillar is a relationship with something more significant; this extends to the community at large. [33:40] Autonomic Dysregulation Syndrome and The Process of Aging Dr. Sideroff has p

His passion is to help people lose weight, gain muscle, and live longer. Phil is a firm believer in high repetitions. [02:40] How To Figure Out Which Workout Is Best For Your Body First, figure out what your goals are. If you want to be a bodybuilder, then you are going to need heavier weights. If you have injuries and don't want to hurt yourself, start with pushups and pullups. It’s time to push past the limits of your body. [04:00] Are You New To Fitness? [09:20] Karen's Menopausal Odyssey: A Rapid Onset, Unusual Timeline, and the Role of Thyroid Medication - Karen experienced a sudden and intense onset of menopausal symptoms within a six-month period. This included a significant increase in follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) to menopausal levels, a drop in estrogen and progesterone, as well as other symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain in the stomach area, itchy skin, and breast tenderness. - Her experience of going through menopause deviated from the typical timeline. Instead of the gradual progression over 10 years of perimenopause followed by a couple of years of more intense symptoms, Karen’s symptoms intensified rapidly, leading to a quicker transition into menopause. - Karen discovered that the thyroid medication she was taking played a role in exacerbating her hormonal imbalance. - Luckily, Karen successfully reversed some of the adverse effects of early menopause by implementing changes in her lifestyle and incorporating hormone replacement therapy. [15:20] Dietary Challenges and Hormonal Harmony - Karen observed issues arising from a prolonged and intense adherence to hardcore keto diets among her clients, as well as in her own experience. Problems included menstrual irregularities, hair loss, and weight regain. Individuals were resorting to more extreme measures like extended fasting and carnivore diets in an attempt to address these challenges. - Initially, the hardcore keto approach appeared to yield positive results, with clients experiencing improved energy levels, weight loss, and relief from menopausal symptoms. However, over the long term, these benefits diminished, prompting Karen to investigate the impact on the thyroid and other hormonal systems. - Karen emphasizes the importance of understanding the body's response to dietary signals, particularly in the context of signaling abundance or scarcity. - Karen advocates for the Keto Flex approach, incorporating carbohydrate intake a few days a week to signal abundance and support reproductive functions. [21:35] Optimizing Protein Intake: Recommendations for Weightlifters and Non-Lifters, Daily Distribution, and Whole-Food Emphasis - Karen suggests adjusting protein intake based on whether an individual engages in weightlifting. For those not lifting weights, she recommends a slightly lower protein intake, around 0.5 to 0.8 grams per pound of body weight. - However, for those involved in weightlifting, she recommends aiming for the standard guideline of 1 gram per pound of ideal body weight. - Karen emphasizes the importance of distributing protein intake throughout the day. Ideally, individuals should aim for 30 to 35 grams of protein per meal. - While acknowledging that many women may need to supplement their protein intake with shakes or essential amino acids, Karen emphasizes the preference for obtaining protein from whole food sources rather than relyi
Gigi Ashworth | Why Salmon Is a Super Food For Weight Loss on Keto, & The Problem With Fish Oil Supplements KKP: 693
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Gigi Ashworth. She is a former competitive snowboarder and horseback rider that has since become a popular allergen-friendly food personality and cook across social media platforms, with a master’s certificate in Nutrition Communications from Tufts University. However, prior to obtaining her master’s degree, she got her broadcast journalism degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and even worked as the 3 AM weather girl at Denver’s ABC affiliate. When she finished her studies in Colorado, she moved to Los Angeles (she now lives in Georgia again with her husband and two baby boys, who find her adoration for salmon quite comical) to pursue a career in the entertainment hosting field. That career focus led her to start a humorous blog and YouTube channel called GiGi Eats Celebrities that showcases her personality and her extreme passion for realistic nutrition. This blog and YouTube channel turned into platforms where people with diet, nutrition, and health concerns, as her own enthusiasm for such topics stems from her severe diet-related issues (Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, and no large intestine), can get advice (such as traveling with food intolerances and/or autoimmune diseases) along with allergen-friendly/keto diet approved recipes that everyone can enjoy. Her platforms (she now mainly focuses her efforts on her Instagram page, which currently boasts roughly 360,000 followers) have allowed her to garner the attention of many (who have described her as having an infectious, no bullshit, hilarious, salmon-loving personality). This led to her authoring her first book, She Does Keto, which is an informational cookbook, just like Seduced By Salmon, however, it covers the topic of the ketogenic diet and why it’s beneficial for women (and also contains 115 recipes). She was tapped to write a book on this topic because she has been living a ketogenic lifestyle for the last 18 years before it was even a “thing,” and researches this way of eating on the daily. As a devoted fitness enthusiast, a rather blunt and light-heartedly vulgar diehard allergen-friendly foodie that has been dubbed the Salmon Queen (she eats roughly eight pounds of salmon a week and has been doing so for the last ten plus years, and showcases this on the daily through Instagram stories and posts), she has been told that she is proof that you can educate and inform as well as entertain all at the same time! In this episode, Gigi Ashworth explains how she became The Salmon Queen on social media. Every single second of every day, Gigi craves salmon because of its great taste and fantastic health benefits. Gigi busts common myths around salmon and describes why you should think twice about buying wild-caught salmon during your next shopping trip. If you don’t already, research and determine where the salmon you purchase comes from. Tune in as we discuss the inspiration behind Gigi’s books, some of Gigi’s favorite salmon recipes, and why you should never eat tilapia. In college, salmon was comfort food for Gigi. Eventually, Gigi started eating salmon every single day because it was delicious. A pound of ground beef will not keep Gigi full. While on the other hand, a pound of salmon keeps her satiated. Now, Gigi craves salmon every single second of every single day. [22:00] The Reason Gigi Recommends Farmed Salmon Instead of Wild Caught Salmon Most people think wild-caught salmon is the way to go. Farming salmon started to take shape in the 1960s. In the 1980s, they started to regulate farmed salmon. Farmed salmon is much better than wild-caught salmon because of how regulated it is. Gigi recommends Kvaroy Arctic: https://www.kvaroyarctic.com/ [27:40] Do Your Research: Where Is Your Salmon Coming From? There are a lot of toxins in the ocean. Wild salmon can have loads of toxins and mercury in them. Big fish will hold mercury, so you aren’t supposed to eat swordfish. Also, wild salmon is being overfished and is more expensive than farmed fish. Why buy garbage salmon when you can buy farmed salmon that has been fed to enhance health? Before buying salmon, Gigi also researches where exactly it comes from. [31:55] Keto R

[06:50] Doorways and Cranial Release for Holistic Health - The concept of taking care of doorways is derived from Hindu philosophy, specifically the representation of the God Ganesh, the remover of obstacles. In this context, doorways symbolize obstacles that hinder the expression of vitality and health. Dr. Lieurance draws parallels between this Hindu idea and the practice of cranial release, using balloons to open nasal passages as a means of removing obstacles to better health. - Dr. Lieurance emphasizes the inherent ability of the body to be self-healing and self-regulating. The vital force within the body, responsible for health, can be disrupted, leading to diseases. - Dr. Lieurance introduces the concept of cranial release, particularly endo-nasal cranial release using balloons. - Cranial release is explained as a way to address issues such as chronic nasal congestion, sleep apnea, snoring, TMJ, headaches, and other head-related problems. [12:00] Insights on the Metabolic Sensitivity of the Brain and Inner Ear - Dr. Lieurance emphasizes the brain as the most metabolically sensitive organ, requiring constant energy. The depletion of this energy source affects sensitive tissues, leading to dysfunction. - He connects poor mitochondrial function, particularly in the inner ear, to common issues like tinnitus, hearing loss, and hyperacusis. - These problems, exacerbated by factors such as jab injuries, vaping effects, and infections like COVID, highlight the importance of maintaining mitochondrial health for overall well-being. - The inner ear is described as the "canary in the coal mine," serving as an early indicator of issues associated with poor mitochondrial function. Dr. Lieurance draws attention to the organ's constant need for energy, even during sleep, and its vulnerability to environmental factors. [18:00] Battling Toxic Burden, Inflammation, and the Vital Role of Essential Oils in Doorway Care - Dr. Lieurance introduces the concept of a constant battle between the external and internal environments, highlighting the challenge of managing the body's toxic burden. - This battle leads to inflammation, a key factor in health shifts. - The emphasis is on strategies to take care of the body's doorways, particularly the mouth and nasal passages. - Essential oils are presented as a valuable tool for caring for doorways. - Dr. Lieurance explains the role of biofilm, a sticky gelatinous material that microbes use to shield themselves from the immune system. Without proper care of the doorways, biofilm in the nasal passages can accumulate particles from the air, potentially leading to bloodstream entry. [21:10] Locus Coeruleus, Alzheimer's, and the Intricate Balance of Norepinephrine Modulation - Dr. Lieurance explains that the locus coerule

Marek Doyle | A New Understanding of How The Mitochondria Produces Energy, The Cell Danger Response & More! KKP: 689
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Marek Doyle. He has spent the last 17 years developing a model of individualized nutrition based on data from over 3,000 individual outcomes, 11,000 test findings, and significant utilization of the scientific literature. Marek is a functional nutritional therapist. In addition to his Academy training course for practitioners and enthusiasts in London, England, Marek offers one-on-one consultations for customers. He holds a Master of Science degree in Personalized Nutrition. Marek has always greatly respected and fascinated with the human body. He was always driven to nutritional therapy since it is the most fundamental aspect in impacting human biochemistry, and he has spent almost two decades improving his methods. Marek has an MSc in Personalized Nutrition (CNELM/Middlesex Uni), as well as a CertHE in Nutritional Medicine, a Diploma in Allergy and Environmental Therapy (BIAET) and a Diploma in Advanced Nutrition for Optimal Health (GBF/BCMA). His viewpoint is shaped by everything that can enable him to precisely pinpoint each person's major challenges and predict the result of any given option. It is shaped less by exact answers and more by asking the right questions, which are formed from his personal experiences, combining the mechanical knowledge taken from the scientific literature with the wisdom embedded in traditional healing systems, and by making observations gleaned from working directly with thousands of people. In this episode, Marek speaks about how our bodies can repair themselves so long as you identify the hurdles that prevent it from happening, the flaws of modern weight loss methods, the pros and cons of the ketogenic diet, how the mitochondria work under stress, and things you need to remember before going on a diet. [04:50] The Body’s Self-Healing Factor The human body will solve its problems unless an obstacle is blocking the way towards healing. Finding out what that obstacle is is the key to overcoming certain health issues. Once these obstacles are taken away, everything becomes much easier for an individual. These interferences aren’t easy to identify or solve, which is why it is up to everybody to identify what they are. [06:28] The Flaws of Popular Weight Loss Methods Many influencers, nutritionists, and dieticians claim that energy balance is the only thing you’ll need to lose body fat. Calories in and out are a big deal; however, both can change. This concept is entirely dependent on the body not changing its energy usage all day which makes it very flawed. The calorie concept is deceptive because it works short-term for weight loss but not fat loss. There is a massive difference between these two. [12:00] The Pros and Cons of the Keto Diet Two camps are relevant to this diet. The first one is the people who preach that it’s a revolution, and the other is the ones who oppose it due to their belief in its health risks. There is a lot of misconception that still exists about the Keto Diet. One of the most anti-inflammatory interventions available is the Ketogenic Diet. [24:47] What the Mitochondria Does When You Are Stressed There are three different types of stress: Mental and Emotional Stress, Physical Stress, and Chemical Stress. Being under any of these stresses will cause the Mitochondria to generate a ton of oxidative stress. The only thing greater than the human body’s capability to handle stress is how far you can push it until it eventually fails. Oxidative stress due to the overworking of the Mitochondria will cause certain problems in the human body. [40:44] Things You Must Consider Before Trying Certain Diets There are many moving parts in the human body, making a perfect diet unrealistic. Doing certain diets and fasting is fine; however, you must consider your status and other options first. [04:35] Long-Term Impact of COVID-19 Vaccines & Spike Proteins Researchers have identified the presence of spike proteins in the bloodstreams of individuals six months after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. This finding raises questions about the source of these proteins and the body's ability to break them down or sequester them. One possibility is that these proteins are continuously produced due to a reservoir of viral infection in the body that was never fully eliminated. However, this scenario may not apply to most individuals, as typically, dormant infections only re-emerge when the immune system is weakened. Another potential explanation involves reverse transcriptase, where foreign genetic material from the vaccine may have integrated into the recipient's DNA. While this can be problematic, it doesn't necessarily lead to an increase in spike proteins unless the integrated genetic material affects actively expressed genes. Regardless of the source, addressing the presence of these spike proteins is crucial. However, a more comprehensive approach is needed to understand how to manage foreign genetic material and prevent the ongoing production of these toxins. [17:25] Can Spike Proteins Be Transferred from COVID Vaccine Recipients to Non-Recipients Through Intimacy? The theoretical possibility of individuals who did not receive a COVID vaccine acquiring spike proteins is a complex issue. The potential transfer of these proteins or foreign genetic material may occur through sexual activity with someone who received the COVID vaccine. Reports of menstrual irregularities, blood clots, hemorrhages, and even miscarriages in individuals who were intimate with vaccinated partners suggest the need for further investigation into these possible connections. [21:20] The Influence of Environmental Factors on Human Behavior Spencer references a study involving rodents placed in an enclosed environment with an abundant food supply. As the rodent colony grew and outstripped its food source, various behaviors emerged, including increased homosexuality, infanticide, and murder, all contributing to a population decline. Spencer touches on the impact of environmental chemicals, such as Atrazine, which are known to affect gender identity and behavior. These chemicals are suggested to have contributed to changes in human behavior and choice, drawing parallels to the rodent study. Human choices and cultural shifts may be influence

[01:04] Debunking The Myths In Vitamin E You Might Actually Believe Vitamin E is found in vegetable oil as they protect the oil from going rancid. Vegetable oils are polyunsaturated fats. They have a lot of double bonds, and they’re very unstable. DHA and EPA are even more unsaturated than vegetables. [04:50] What Happens When Vegetable Oil Enters The Cell Wall of Your 38 Trillion Cells? Lipoprotein particle has one or two proteins that carry the oil, travels through the bloodstream, and eventually ends up under trillions of cells. About 80% of the cell wall is fat, a rudimentary and primitive way of understanding aging. Greater than 90% of all the antioxidants on the cell wall are vitamin E molecules, tocotrienol. Less than 10% of them are Co-Q 10, which your body makes, Lycopene and Beta-keratin. Four Major Food Groups are Fat, Protein, Carbohydrate, and Nucleic Acid. [12:27] Watch Out! Keep Your Body Healthy From Fats and Cholesterol Vast amounts of fatty acid are not healthy for the body. The cholesterol is made by our body and is in the cell to give flexibility to the cell, so it is not too rigid or stiff. One in every 10,000 oxygen becomes radicalized. It had two very active electrons under oxygen, with a high potential energy. [22:28] Increase Your Knowledge Of Various Antioxidants Facts Worth Knowing The body makes very few endogenous antioxidants, including Co-Q 10, Glutathione, and Estrogen. Plants have tens of thousands of antioxidants; the most common ones the plant makes are polyphenols. Supplemental Co-Q 10 is hard to absorb by the body and will only stay in the blood. Keratin’s purpose is to capture this oxygen free radical and protect against oxidative damage, so the leaf is not destroyed. [37:28] What Are The Various Types of Vitamin E You Must Look Out For? Tocopherol and Tocotrienol are the two major forms of Vitamin E. Most Vitamin Es are 95% Tocopherol, and 5% will be Tocotrienols. Rice, palm oil, and the annatto plant are common products containing Tocotrienols. Plants produce keratin to preserve foliage colour. [42:12] Learn About The Benefits And Beauty That The Annatto Plant Offers The annatto plant doesn’t contain tocopherol, which hinders the function of tocotrienol. It has 90% delta-tocotrienol and 10% gamma-tocotrienol. Annatto produces tocotrienol to preserve the colour of the plant longer. Protecting the colour is critical for the plant to attract birds to swallow its seed and help maintain the lifecycle. AND MUCH MORE! [01:30] Exploring the Factors Behind Metabolic Inflexibility in the United States - The shift in the American diet towards a grain-based, carbohydrate-heavy intake, largely driven by the recommendations of the US Department of Agriculture for 6 to 11 servings of grains daily, has led to a predominance of carbohydrate consumption. This constant influx of carbs can inhibit the body's ability to burn fat for energy. - Excessive sugar intake leads to elevated insulin levels, which can lock fat into fat cells and hinder the body's capacity to switch to using ketones for energy. - High carb intake leads to spikes in blood sugar and insulin levels. This cycle perpetuates itself as higher insulin levels inhibit fat burning, and the brain becomes reliant on glucose, making it challenging to switch to ketones as an energy source. - Many individuals are trapped in this carb-dependent cycle due to a lack of knowledge about how the body's metabolism functions. [13:55] The Impact of a Strategic Keto Program for Athletes and Beyond - Keto is a valuable tool for resetting your metabolism, typically over a strategic three to six-week program, especially when you're significantly out of balance. - Athletes who adopt a ketogenic approach to both training and dieting can achieve about 80% of their desired results within the first six weeks. However, the remaining 20% of results may take an additional two years to attain, making some athletes hesitant to embrace this approach. - In general, most people tend to respond positively to a ketogenic diet within three to six weeks. During this period, it's essential to monitor your progress through blood work. - While daily carbohydrate needs can vary for top competitive athletes, for most reasonably healthy and fit individuals, an upper limit of 150 grams of carbs per day is suggested to replenish glycogen stores. [21:30] The Power of Metabolic Flexibility and Streamlined Energy Utilization - Achieving metabolic flexibility comes with metabolic efficiency, meaning the body becomes highly efficient at extracting energy from various substrates. The efficiency is enhanced whe

Without gut testing, you will miss the mark. This is biohacking, and this is what changed Rachel's life. From a gut perspective, she also includes detoxing and cleaning protocols every full moon to keep things like yeast, fungi, toxins, and parasites out of the system. This transformed her life physically, emotionally, spiritually, and energetically. Through this fast of food, sleep, sex, and alcohol, she felt changed. This event positively affected her skin and cleared it. It even removed PMS systems from her cycle. [13:25] Skin health Skin health is an excellent way to know about somebody's overall health Some cues give away about one's gut through skin issues that they have The first is the eyes: puffy eyes could indicate inflammation. The inner eyelid area can also mean that something is going on inside. When you start consuming a lot of sugar, alcohol, and dairy, if it's not something you are used to, you will notice the effects on your skin after a couple of days. Puffiness, redness to the nose, acne, effects on nails, etc., are some of the things that may pop up. Brain fog is another significant consequence of bad health. [19:22] Supplements A product with omegas and other essential nutrients from a particular company This company has been working for the past fifteen years This product will give you a golden type of glow, and it helps with pigmentation Rachel did a study for six to eight weeks with her cohort, and the results were the same: reduction in puffiness, reduction in redness, reduction in darkness, pigmentation fading, and so on. Photography and research are so important to know for sure. [22:27] What is the reason behind dark circles? The number one reason why guys complain is the eyes. The skin around the eyes, especially the lower eyelid area, is as thin as an eggshell. You could be lacking collagen, hydration, healthy fats, etc. Skin care comes, and sun protection can help. Other solutions include Vitamin C, Vitamin A, dermal rolling, and getting lasers done. [28:40] Foods that are bad for your skin and why? Dairy is related to gut disturbance and causes inflammation, damaging the skin. Gluten is also inflammatory for most people and causes the same problem. Alcohol taxes your liver and indirectly affects your gut. Raw kale and spinach are on the list as well. Vegetables and corn oils also make it to the list and shouldn't be consumed or put on the skin. [39:21] What are some ways to tighten the skin after weight loss? It has to be surgery often, but if you put in the work, you can make it work without it. If you do the work and make good life decisions, you can make it possible. A positive mindset will also enable you to see improvements. Heavy lifting and derma rolling can help. Derma rolling is a decades-old practice, and you can have more collagen with the consistent use of this particular tool. Even senior citizens between the age of sixty and eighty have seen positive results after its use. Lasers are also an excellent option, but they are costly. [44:45] What does Rachel have on her website? All of her favorite things: personal care products, grooming products, hair growth stimulating effects, skincare products, and so much more. She works with a lot of brands, and she narrows them down. She even has quality supplements that are clean of toxins and work perfectly. She even gave everyone a fifteen percent discount. [14:00] What's the Importance of Protein to Aging and Metabolic Health? ● Protein is a critical macronutrient, especially as we age, as it helps stimulate muscle protein synthesis and maintain lean muscle tissue. ● Contrary to previous beliefs, older individuals need more protein to combat muscle loss and support insulin sensitivity. ● The minimum recommended protein intake per meal is 30 grams for most people, with some individuals requiring more based on their needs. ● Properly understanding portion sizes and macronutrient combinations is essential for optimizing protein intake. ● Inadequate protein consumption may contribute to the metabolic health crisis, emphasizing the importance of including enough protein in one's diet as they age. [18:06] Change Your Perspective and Support Your Overall Health! ● Cancer is a multifactorial disease influenced by various factors, including diet, lifestyle, environmental exposures, and even emotional health. ● Fixating on a single aspect, such as excess protein intake and mTOR activation, oversimplifies the complex nature of cancer development. ● Chronic and habitual one-meal-a-day (OMAD) fasting can lead to metabolic distress, muscle loss, and hinder metabolic health. ● Individuals must shift away from restrictive dieting and nourish their bodies with adequate nutrition to support overall health. ● Society's disordered relationship with food, body image, and weight contributes to unhealthy dietary and lifestyle practices and the rise of unhealthy diet culture. [29:35] Here's What You Need To Know About Animal and Plant-Based Protein ● The amino acid composition of animal-based protein is superior to that of plant-based protein. ● When choosing plant-based protein, it's essential to be cautious about consuming excessive carbohydrates to meet protein intake goals. ● Metabolic health and insulin sensitivity are significant in determining the ability to handle plant-based protein, particularly for those in perimenopause and menopause. ● The Protein Leverage Hypothesis highlights the importance of adequate protein intake for satiety and blood sugar regulation. ● Starting the day with a higher protein meal can lead to greater satiety and reduced cravings throughout the day, promoting healthier eating habits. [00:00] Parasympathetic Nervous System: Activate it Through Essential Oils Essential oils can get assimilated through the nose and directly into the brain. Instead of needing an invasive surgery, you can take a stimulatory blend of essential oils. It gets through the skin and works quickly. Essential oils help to digest food and absorb nutrients. [21:52] Having Trouble Sleeping? Solve it with this Method - Oils can be utilized to restore the equilibrium of various organ systems and brain regions. - Apply the oils right above the ear since the skin is thinner there. - You can apply any blend of oils that feels relaxing. People mostly use citrus sprout blends. - To feel less worried, close your right nostril, inhale through your left, and smell anything such as orange. [26:24] What does the Gallbladder Blend Can Do? - The blend is designed to tonify the gallbladder and thin the bile. - It topically overlays the energetic signature of what the gallbladder is supposed to feel like. - It is one more tool you can apply to return the gallbladder to balance. [32:15] Importance of Lymphatic System and Ways To Get It Going - The lymph is critical to ensuring that the garbage leaves the body. - Your lymph moves when you move, so exercise, yoga, and any breathing practice help the lymph move. - Sleep is important because an aspect of your lymphatic system called the glymphatic system, which is a kind of brain carwash, is only active at night. [37:17] Histamine intolerance: Return it to Balance Through this Blend - If you had mold exposure in your house, the mold could linger. And that can cause you to be overactive too many things - You don't want it turned off. You just want to modulate it. - You can use the blend in several ways. You can use it to support sinus drainage and mold removal. - Put the histamine balance on the back of your ears or the back of your neck, and it will work without exhausting you. [42:45] Don’t Just Mix Your Own. Here’s the reason why - Sometimes, it is more expensive than just getting pre-made. - Jodi gives you ready-made remedies that many practitioners are already using, so you don't need to worry about mixing your own. - If you're new to this, just try it by buying an orange and smelling it through your left nostril. Doug Fears | A Biohacking Success Story That Can Teach Us a Lot KKP: 680
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Doug Fears. He is a senior adviser (non-resident) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the chief operating office of Artis International, a company specializing in integrating artificial intelligence and behavioral science. Growing up on the eastern shore of Maryland along the Chesapeake Bay, he was naturally drawn to a life on the water. This inclination led him to enlist in the Coast Guard in 1982, initially with no intention of making a long-term commitment. However, Doug's initial four-year plan transformed into a 40-year career. Eventually, Doug transitioned into roles centered on policy and D.C., focusing primarily on federal budgeting. He closely collaborated with the House of Representatives, the Office of Budget and Programs, and the National Security Council staff. His career path afforded him profound insights into governmental operations and the intricacies of public policy. In this episode, Doug discusses his life journey and delves into the concerning state of government nutrition policies. He reveals the significant influence of industry interests, underscores the importance of metabolic health during the pandemic. Biological dentistry recognizes the interconnectedness of oral health with the overall body. The removal of amalgam fillings and root canal-treated teeth can aid in reducing toxic burden. Red light therapy, especially when used in 10-minute cycles on various body areas, has a profound impact on well-being. Methylene blue, when combined with red light therapy, enhances ATP production, contributing to improved energy and overall performance. Nitric oxide and methylene blue can both be beneficial, but it's essential to use them cyclically rather than chronically. Ozone therapy, including rectal insufflation and ozonated water, can help address toxicity and health issues without resorting to antibiotics. [49:47] The State of Government Nutrition Policies The government's nutritional guidelines are problematic and counterproductive, promoting the wrong dietary choices. Public health interests are often influenced by industry interests and lobbying, making it challenging to shift towards more accurate health recommendations. Metabolic health and nutrition should have been a central focus during the pandemic, but the public often seeks quick fixes and pills rather than making lifestyle changes. There's a clear agenda to push engineered plant-based foods and diminish the popularity of the keto diet, leading to censorship and misleading information. A fact-based, empirically sound approach is essential to promote health and reduce medical costs, emphasizing the need for unbiased research and funding. AND MUCH MORE! He hosts a podcast called "Thrive Forever Fit", which covers topics related to diet, exercise, and mentality that can influence how we feel and behave. Jay’s father was killed in an accident when he was five. As a coping mechanism for the tragedy, food became his way to comfort himself and led him to overweight. But even in this condition, Jay has always been interested in fitness and nutrition. When he got older, Jay engaged to different sports that helped him on his weight journey. However, he still struggled with his mind as he is anxious about how his body looks. Nonetheless, he became a personal trainer at 17, and since then, Jay has begun to find the path to where he belongs. Ultimately, he decided to open his gym, started writing books, and began his career on coaching people. Thrive Fitness Studio is the name of his gym and everything associated with it is called Thrive Forever Fit because Jay believes we should do something consistently for as long as we live. [00:00] Struggling to Have a Healthy Body? The Problem is You, Not the Food There's a lot of drug abuse on the scene in bodybuilding. There's not a lot of alcohol consumption, but there's a lot of prescription and recreational drug use. Your mindset around the food is the real issue, not the food itself. Food is more like fuel and a resource to nourish and do what your body wants. Instead of creating a short-term sustainable diet, make a lifestyle that you are comfortable maintaining forever. [17:00] The Wrong Beliefs in Losing Weight That You Should Avoid You don’t need to starve yourself. It's a myth that there's good versus bad food. What we are talking about is real food, not with those different chemicals. Counting macros and calories, it's not sustainable. Developed a lifestyle where you understand what food looks like and what it will do when you eat it. People just want to be told what to do instead of learning what to do. [25:50] What is The Value of Having the Right Mindset in Losing Weight? This has nothing to do with the food, and nothing to do with being overweight. The weight loss was a side effect. It’s all about the brain and the mind. The book is about psychological reasons I learned working with clients and myself over time. It was always the story, the mindset, or the belief systems that the client had psychologically that were the issue. Jay uses fitness and nutrition to get people into my world, and then he unpacks the real reasons why they're there. It will be useless to stay with the same beliefs you had before Jay. [32:16] Increase Your Thermostat: Love Yourself and Maintain Your Fitness We have a lot of limiting beliefs, and we have a lot of self-doubts that hold us back. Sometimes, giving a compliment to someone who is not in the right frame of mind can affect them negatively. It all starts with the psychology of what you believe you deserve. Jay’s favorite saying is that you'll never be, do or have more than you believe you deserve. [34:20] How Can You Begin Your Lifelong Journey Towards a Healthy Lifestyle? First, Jay helps you to recognize the negative language you are using and change it. Then he will talk about the belief system of who you believe you are. Jay won't let you lie to yourself, but he won't be cruel. He will inform you in a kind manner. If you're using the word “try”, start telling yourself, " I will do what's required. If you'll change your language, it will change your life. If you continually break

[06:21] Carnivore Diet Journey: What Did Sarah Learn? • Dietary trends often follow a progression, but individual experiences may vary. • Prolonged adherence to extreme diets may lead to health issues and hormonal imbalances. • Pay attention to your body's signals and be open to dietary adjustments when needed. • Hormone imbalances can impact fertility and overall well-being. • Community support is valuable, but it's important to prioritize your health and listen to your body. [20:17] Leptin and Hormonal Impact • Leptin is a crucial circadian signaling hormone that influences various body systems. • Continuous ketosis and excessive fasting can lead to low leptin levels, affecting hormonal balance. • The dietary approach and meal timing can significantly impact leptin levels and overall health. • Avoid dogmatic dietary adherence and focus on individualized approaches for hormonal balance. • Leptin resistance can manifest as both high and low leptin levels, requiring different strategies for management. [27:21] Dietary Dogma: Metabolic Health • Avoid dogmatic dietary adherence; prioritize metabolic health and flexibility. • Embrace cyclical nutrition, considering seasonal and local foods. • Gradual reintroduction of carbohydrates can be beneficial for metabolic flexibility. • Incorporate light exposure, especially UVA and UVB, to support neurotransmitter balance. • Combining carb reintroduction with light exposure can help individuals transition without fear of binge eating. [34:44] Nutrition, Circadian Rhythm, and Red Light Therapy • Reduce sunglass usage during daylight to benefit from natural light exposure. • Carefully balance macronutrients, avoiding high-fat and high-carb meals together. • Utilize red light therapy on the abdomen to support gut health and hormonal balance. • Implement circadian rhythm strategies, such as grounding and blocking blue light at night. [40:37] Cold Plunges for Health • Cold plunges are hormetic stressors that should be approached with caution, especially for those with certain health conditions. • Start cold plunging at a higher temperature and gradually decrease the temperature over time to adapt. • Pay attention to how your body feels after cold plunging; if you feel energized, you've found the right duration and temperature. • Avoid cold plunges right after strenuous workouts, as it may slow down the natural muscle repair process. • Don't feel pressured to use your cold plunge daily; listen to your body's needs, and don't push yourself too hard, especially during times of high stress. [49:23] The Importance of Food Timing and Circadian Rhythm • Food timing should align with your body's circadian rhythm, with a focus on having most of your calories earlier in the day. • Eating breakfast and lunch, then skipping dinner can be more beneficial for weight loss, autophagy, and overall health. • Research suggests that the same meal is processed differently when eaten in the morning compared to the evening. • Cortisol levels, melatonin production, and leptin sensitivity are influenced by the timing of your meals, making morning eating advantageous. • Maintaining a healthy circadian rhythm, blocking blue light at night, and avoiding eating too close to bedtime can optimize the hormone balance in your body. [54:06] Breakfast Timing and Hormones: Finding the Right Balance • While eating breakfast can

In this podcast, Powell shares with us his incredibly inspiring story, taking us through his early childhood and what marked the onset of his journey towards a health-conscious life. He grew up in Jamaica and was raised by his grandparents. Like any other kid, he loved candies, junk, and everything sweet. Unfortunately, though, he developed eczema, high blood pressure, and asthma in his early twenties. Weight issues were also a continuous struggle that led to the deterioration of his health but one day Powell decided to start fresh, to fight everything that was holding him back and that is when he started his fitness journey, experimenting with working out, lifting weights and eating healthy! Breathing becomes a lot easier and effort free. It removed his asthma and eczema problems for years. You also start feeling better. Even without the medications, he is perfectly healthy as his body healed itself. Eliminate things from your diet as this would reduce excess harmful elements from your body. [15:53] Sleep, seed oil, processed foods, and fasting If you sleep properly and at the proper time, you will not just feel better but will also age slower. Replace seed oil with olive oil, butter, or avocado oil. Pro tip: if you go to a restaurant just tell the waiter you and everyone on the table are allergic to seed oil. Processed foods are not what you should be putting in your body. You must remove processed foods from your diet and eat real clean whole food. Fasting is amazing- your sleep hours even count. Healing the gut, bouncing your sugar levels, fat oxidation, and training your body are all achieved by fasting. Fasting if done right can be a very powerful tool. You give your digestive system a break. [23:15] A twenty-four hours once a week, and why does he do it? The dinner-to-dinner fast helped to increase the time of his fast oxidation. Lengthening the fast and doing a full day fast helps make him feel like superman. Tap into the knowledge of our ancestors and include the new research; studies aren’t supposed to overwhelm you. You must incorporate how something makes you feel; if you feel energized with something do it. Start your fasts small and then build up. [30:40] How to overcome a standstill in weight; when you can’t seem to lose more weight It depends on what you have been doing to lose weight; was it keto, vegetarian diet, intermittent fasting, and so on? It also depends on the period you have been doing what you have been for losing that weight. Your body gets efficient at breaking down fat and you reach a plateau after a certain time; you need to cycle the carbs back in. This way your body becomes better at breaking fats back again. Easier to switch back to carbs and take in the enzymes. This switching back and forth is an easier way to go about it; you need to create diversity in the gut. Our ancestors would have a diverse line of foods that they consumed. [39:50] Bio-individuality and the elimination method People should remove vegetables but only for some time and they should be added back in gradually. You don't know what is affecting you until you eliminate the suspects; you don’t know what anti-nutrients are responding to you. A carnivore diet for a while can help improve your gut. After this has happened which can be between one to three months you start adding plant foods to your diet slowly. This way you get to realize what is affecting you through your gut-healing journey. It Helps identify allergies. But first, you must go on a gradual approach to searching for yourself. [44:00] The glucose monitor (CGM) and the Oura ring Your glucose monitor can pick up the signs and aware you. Oura ring is a tool; HRV drops with eating more plant toxins and vice versa means that a carnivore diet suits you the best. Ray’s blood sugar pattern picks up when he wakes up. It drops during his fasting period but picks up gradually. This is because his body is optimal. This is because of having more muscles too. If your body is optimized, your blood sugar does not go up drastically. Tea

The core principle of "10 Alignments" remains central to achieving a blissful balance in personal and professional life. Embrace the "GIFT" acronym, which stands for Give Insight, Finances, and Time when serving others. [17:11] Cold Plunging and Biohacking: Finding the Right Balance Cold plunging and cold exposure can offer significant benefits but should be cautiously approached, especially for beginners. Start with shorter durations and gradually increase exposure time to avoid overexertion and fatigue. Individual tolerance varies, so pay attention to how your body responds to cold exposure and adjust accordingly. Balance cold exposure with heat therapy to maximize the benefits of both practices. Biohacking can accelerate recovery from injuries, even severe ones like fractures and torn ligaments. Techniques like red light therapy, anti-inflammatory diets, and specific peptides like BPC 157 can promote rapid healing. · Avoid becoming overly reliant on wearables and tracking devices; listen to your body and use data as a tool, not a definitive measure of how you should feel. Consider occasional 24-hour digital detoxes, avoiding all digital devices, including e-books, and focusing on analog activities. Although political motives exist to block sunlight to solve global warming, it's essential to consider the implications of altering our natural light environment. However, many people find it hard to sustain because you restrict carbohydrates greatly. Once you get above 50 grams of carbohydrates, it is no longer ketogenic. [11:05] Why It Is So Easy To Become Fat and Obese In America People are sitting in front of computers all day and not exercising. Also, Americans are overconsuming carbohydrates and processed foods. The United States Dietary Guidelines tell people to consume tons of carbohydrates. The cost of diabetes and obesity to the government is incredible; it costs trillions of our healthcare. We should have different Dietary Guidelines! [25:40] Is Intermittent Fasting Necessary While Following The Keto Diet? With a clean ketogenic diet, you don’t need intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting is good for detox purposes. You only need a 12 to 18-hour fast if you are strict on keto. When you are doing extra long fasts, then it throws off your appetite cues. Charles Mayfield | Benefits of Animal-Based Skincare, and the Dark Side of the Skin Care Industry! KKP: 674
Meet our amazing guest today, Charles Mayfield. He is a risk specialist, a food and farming advocate, and the founder of Farrow, a company that excels in skin health through regenerative practices and handcrafted products designed to nourish and revitalize your skin. Given the alarming levels of toxicity in our environment, particularly within the skincare industry, Charles felt a strong calling to expose the truth about the harmful substances present in modern skincare products. This was his moment to step forward, raise his voice, express his concerns, and take action, where the government had fallen short. His mission is to assist people in healing their skin and eliminating toxins from their bodies. Thus, he established his company, Farrow. Farrow produces animal-based skincare products that are chemical-free, promoting healthy and radiant skin. In their production process, Farrow employs a regenerative farming system to raise healthy and contented animals, ultimately yielding skincare products that are healthier. In this episode, Charles Mayfield uncovers the dark side of the skincare industry. Charles discusses why it's essential to discontinue the use of modern skincare products containing plant-based ingredients and chemicals, advocating for a switch to animal-based, chemical-free alternatives. Charles also dispels misconceptions about the use of pigs in skincare products and explains the benefits. [10:09] The Dark Side Of The Skincare Industry In 1938, the Food and Cosmetics Act was passed, and the only ingredient requiring pre-market safety testing and skincare were color additives. Today, the Food and Cosmetics Act has been updated, but this time, cosmetics are excluded. This results in the preeminent legislation protecting consumers requiring premarket safety testing in skincare is almost 100 years old. Historically, plant-based skincare has been something that was reserved for the elite class because it is hard to produce. However, common people do not use skin care since they are always in close contact with animal fat. Plant-based skincare propaganda doesn't necessarily mean it's healthy. Most of them are loaded with vegetable oils and toxic ingredients, which harms our body. [17:14] Still Using Skincare with Toxic Ingredients? Protect Your Body, Stop It Now! Humans are a very resilient species, but we have our limits. Nowadays, we reached the tipping point of toxic environmental overload of our environment, and skincare largely contributes to it. Avoid skincare products with water because bacteria propagate faster in water. In America, 11 chemicals are prohibited from skincare. But in Europe, over 1300 regulated chemicals are either prohibited or limited for use in skincare. The Government focuses on the profits they can get rather than protecting the people. So take ownership and responsibility for your health. Modern skincare is drying you out and aging your skin faster. [33:50] The Truth About Pigs: The Benefits of Pig Fat For Your Body Pigs are dirty animals if you don't properly cook them. But they are also magical animals if you raise them outside in the sun, feed them properly, and always give them fresh pasture. Pigs are four-legged humans. Practice surgeons use them because their organs and skins are close to the human body. The environment of the industrial market for pigs and chickens is awful, which is what makes them dirty compared to farm animals that are raised properly and develop vitamins vital for our bodies. Lard is rendered subcutaneous belly fat from a pig. [41:19] Animal-Based Skincare: Benefits of Using Farrow Products To Take Care of Your Skin Farrow offers products such as skin food, face food, and a sublingual CBD elixir. The ingredients are the same between the skin and face food, but the ratios are different. Going outside, using skin food is the best choice. Their face-specific product is formulated with a little bit more leaf lard, which is colorless and odorless, whereas lard has a little bit of an animal fat smell and taste. Tallow is the rendered visceral fat from a ruminant animal. Mos predominantly beef. Farrow's products are temperature-sensitive. [51:44] Where Does Farrow’s Skincare Product I
Dr Lori Bouchard | The Top Causes of Cancer & How to Support Your Mitochondria to Prevent Disease KKP: 673
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Lori Bouchard. She completed her degree in Health Science at Western University and a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine (the four-year full-time program) at the prestigious Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. Dr. Bouchard founded Inside Health, Ontario’s most innovative naturopathic healing center, to help people reverse complicated and often misunderstood conditions such as Lyme, chronic fatigue, Hashimoto’s, and infertility. More than a decade later, Inside Health offers a comprehensive range of naturopathic support, welcoming all those who wish to live in optimal health. With a special focus on cancer health, Dr. Bouchard is on a mission to help patients understand the real root of cancer and how gut health, genetics, and environmental factors impact tumor growth. In this episode, Dr. Bouchard explains why it’s a good sign when you get sick once or twice a year. Being sick is one of the ways our body can get rid of the garbage in our cells. Then, Dr. Bouchard dives into all things cancer, including how to support the body, the importance of attitude, and how the cells communicate during this time. Plus, Dr. Bouchard discusses all the different ways you can help the mitochondria. Tune in as we chat about eating the best types of foods with a cancer diagnosis, the connection between stress and disease, and managing sleep. If you never get sick, then your immune system never has a chance to purge toxicity. Getting rid of garbage is a crucial thing for our bodies. You should be sick once or twice a year. However, you shouldn’t be sick for lengthy periods. [10:50] The Impact Your Feelings and Attitude Can Have With A Cancer Diagnosis You need to support the body when you have cancer. Anger is going to make cancer way worse. When you get a cancer diagnosis, it’s a reason to look at your health and healing differently. One in every two people in their lifetime will get cancer. 100% of men over the age of 80 have prostate cancer. Also, many people die with thyroid cancer but not from thyroid cancer. Remember, cancer doesn’t necessarily have to take your life; it’s part of how your cells are aging. [15:45] Did You Know That Cancer Is A Survival Mechanism? Cancer is a survival mechanism. Every single one of our cells has a slew of mitochondria. Each of the mitochondria produces energy. Stress, toxicity, inflammation, and glyphosates are damaging our mitochondria. Cancer is your body trying to keep your cells alive. [23:35] How To Support Your Mitochondrial Health A 13-hour fast will support your mitochondria. Eliminating toxicity will also help your mitochondria. Get rid of foods with glyphosates, herbicides, and pesticides. Don’t brush your teeth with damaging chemicals. Also, make sure you are going to the bathroom every day. If you are regularly eliminating, then you are not putting stress on the liver. Drinking lots of water will help keep your cells healthy. [34:30] The Hospitals Are Feeding Cancer Patients The Wrong Types of Foods Most doctors do not want to engage in a conversation about nutrition and cancer. We need to have a critical talk about fueling the body properly. When you’re in the hospital, they give you foods full of sugar, feeding cancer. You’ll do better with your cancer treatments if your body is in ketosis. [39:40] Is Prostate Cancer Associated With Sedentary Behavior? If you’re given a prostate cancer diagnosis, they'll put you on androgen blockers to suppress your testosterone. However, Dr. Bouchard thinks people should be moving more. As we age, it’s common for most people to sit at their computer all day long and not move. Testosterone declines when you aren’t moving. Dr. Bouchard likes to get men working on a hula hoop. In general, most people do not move around enough. [42:30] The Connection Between Chronic Stress and Cancer Fear, anxiety, sleepless nights, and high cortisol can worsen cancer. If lifestyle and food were the same, stress would make cancer worse. When your stress levels are high, your sleep and how you repair at night won’t be the same. Living in the sympathetic nervous state is going to trigger cancer cells more. AND MUCH MORE! Res

You Need To Have A Diverse Microbiome The microbiome is vast; if you have a healthy microbiome, you have five to nine million genes in that microbiome. As long as you have a diverse microbiome, you can fill in the gaps and have excellent health. Basically, we need diversity to have healthy metabolites. Healthy people have diversity in their guts. [20:00] Look At Your Poop: That’s The Best Gut Diversity Test More diversity may not necessarily be a good thing. Unfortunately, we don’t understand this field well enough. You can test your microbiome every single day by pooping and looking in the toilet. Are you pooping rocks, logs, sticky logs, snakes, pudding, or tea? Rocks are a problem, and so are sticky logs. Pudding and tea are also problems. [25:25] The Hormetic Role That Plants Can Play In Your Lifestyle There are more lectins in plants than there are in animal products. Remember, plants are filled with compounds that are poisons. However, plants are incredible hormetic stress for our cellular physiology. By eating a large variety of plants, you are giving cells the signals that our ancestral mothers and fathers would have received. Plant variation will be critical for your gut health. [34:05] What Is The Wahls Protocol Diet? Whatever you and your family do together, you will be much more successful. The diet that has the most significant effect on fatigue reduction and quality of life improvement is the Wahls diet. It would help if you ate fewer added sugars, fewer processed foods, and fewer carbs than the Standard Amerian Diet. Eat grass-fed meats, wild fish, organ meats, oysters, mussels, and clams. Also, eat kimchi and sauerkraut regularly to have a lower rate of respiratory viral infections. Plus, it’s a great source of vitamin C. [46:00] The Magic of Olive Oil: Potent Antioxidants and Polyphenols There are many studies showing what olive oil does to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, dementia, anxiety, and depression. Olive oil does remarkable things for the risk of relapse as well. Hydroxytyrosol is a very potent antioxidant. Take your olive oil cold because you deactivate some of those polyphenols when you heat them. Also, put your olive oil in the fridge. In this episode, Dr. Ronesh Sinha discusses why the standard cholesterol risk calculator doesn’t tell you everything you need to know. Instead, you should ask for advanced lipid testing; Dr. Sinha explains the importance of having this advanced lipid profile, and he touches on the nuances of cholesterol. Then, Dr. Sinha dives into emotional metabolism and describes how stress can be worse for your glucose levels than chocolate cake. Head to https://everydaydose.superfiliate.com/KETOKAMP (5 FREE Travel Packs + Free Frother applied) [09:10] Why Your Standard Cholesterol Risk Calculator Doesn’t Work Individuals that are very insulin resistant on a standard lipid profile tend to have relatively lower LDL because they've got more small, dense, dangerous LDL. A standard risk calculator won’t show the dangerous atherogenic insulin-resistant cholesterol particles. Luckily, there are modified calculators that individuals use worldwide, and some incorporate triglycerides. Risk calculators need to integrate insulin resistance. The standard guidelines and tools we use in America have a long way to go. [12:50] The Reason You Should Ask For Advanced Lipid Testing Lipoprotein is a boat that carries cholesterol. There are two different boats: Type A and Type B. Type B is the bad boat. An abundance of smaller particles causes more damage. When looking at a standard profile, you're not going to get the clarity to know how many Type A vs. Type B you have. You can only know how many Type A vs. Type B you have by getting an advanced lipid profile. [20:45] Emotional Metabolism: Stress Is Worse Than Chocolate Cake What is the emotional impact of your behaviors and thoughts on glucose control? Everyone knows that stress is not good for you. However, you can track your emotional status and measure glucose against it. Even if you have zero grams of carbs, stress can increase your glucose levels. Early signs of stress will flood the liver with glucose. It’s time to do meaningful things to mitigate your stress levels. [24:45] Using Gratitude and Mindful Breathing Throughout A Stressful Day How do you use gratitude on the spot after a stressful event? Many people practice gratitude and journaling in the morning. However, your mind can go into utter chaos when you deal with things throughout the day. Moments of gratitude throughout the day will be essential. Also, be mindful of your breathing patterns during the day. Mindful breathing will vastly improve your blood pressure and blood glucose. [30:10] The Relationship Between Heart Rate Variability To Parasympathetic Effect Heart rate variability is our most readily accessible metric for parasympathetic activity. Variety is the spice of life; you also want variety in your heartbeat. When you have variation, it’s a sign that your parasympathetic system is more active. Remind yourself to practice mindfulness throughout the day to improve your parasympathetic system. [38:10] When Intermittent Fasting, You Need To Practice Strength Training Fasting is therapeutic; if it is misused, it can have adverse side effects. Identify the timing of your fast that works for you. Make sure you’re getting adequate protein during your eating window. Most people that are fasting are doing minimal amounts of exercise. Unfortunately, when you aren’t exercising, you may be losing muscle. If you’re not in a strength training program and aren’t getting enough protein, you shouldn’t be fasting. [42:30] Eating Protein Early In The Day To Improve Glucose and Overall Mood Just to keep it simple, you need about a gram of protein per pound of ideal body weight. Distribute protein throughout the day. Also, make sure to activate mTOR toward that

[16:40] Check Your Bone Density If You’ve Had A Wisdom Tooth Extraction If you have a wisdom tooth pulled and the bone doesn't heal back in, you are left with a cavity. Normal bone density on a CT scan is zero. If there’s a hole, it starts going into minus levels of bone. The body will put in biotoxins when there’s an open hole, and you get infections there. The wisdom teeth will also affect the brain. So you’ll want to make sure there are no infections. [18:30] Did You Know That 100% of Root Canals Are Infected? A tooth is an organ; each tooth is like a lung, brain, or heart. The pulp of the tooth is where the nerves are. If the cavity breaks through the enamel and gets into the pulp, the nerve gets inflamed because there's an infection in there that hurts. Not many people will put up with a toothache that's bad for too long. A root canal will kill the nerve and destroy the blood supply. Then, they put a metal post in the mouth. However, the infection is still there, and now you have a dead tooth. 100% of root canals are infected. [24:20] Looking For A New Dentist? These Are The Things You Need To Know Ask your dentist if they are a member of IAOMT. Learn more about IAOMT here: https://iaomt.org/ Also, ask if your dentist does root canals. If they do, you don’t want them as your dentist. If your dentist isn’t a believer, then why would you see them for your care? The normal signaling mechanisms of the body about satiety, hunger, and craving are all off. When you start fasting, you will see normal regulation come back in. Most people won’t put up with being hungry for 24 hours. If you end up fasting, good stuff will look good and bad stuff will look bad. 100% of every patient Dr. Minkoff sees in his clinic has a toxic gut. He is the current Vice-president of the ISMI (International Society for Metal-Free Implantology), whose mission is to help as many people as possible to experience optimum oral health without the use of metal-based treatments. As an international speaker, he regularly shares his expertise onstage in order to establish biological dentistry as the new frontier in the industry and covers this very topic in his recent bestselling book, It’s All In Your Mouth, published by Chelsea Green. With his father, Dr. Nischwitz cofounded DNA Health and Aesthetics Center for Biological Dentistry in Tubingen, Germany in 2015. Dr. Nischwitz has exclusively used ceramic implants since 2013, placing more than 5000 to date. A pioneer in the field of holistic dentistry, Dr. Nischwitz regularly gives lectures around the world. Aside from biological dentistry and oral health in general, his other passions include functional medicine, holistic nutrition, and competitive sports. He trains traditional dentists in biological dentistry and believes all health starts in the mouth. In this episode, Dr. Dominik speaks about the dangers of amalgam fillings and why people still use this toxic material to fill cavities in their mouths. Whenever you drink, bite, chew, or brush your teeth, the mercury will leak from those amalgam fillings causing significant health damage. Dr. Dominik explains the importance of removing these amalgam fillings to restore your health. [06:05] The Dangers of Amalgam Fillings and This Highly Toxic Dental Practice Amalgam fillings contain 50% mercury. Mercury is the most toxic non-radioactive element known to man. Is it worth putting amalgam fillings in your mouth? No! Amalgam fillings last forever. When you drill it out of your mouth, a special company needs to dispose of it because it is highly toxic waste material. Many countries have banned amalgam fillings for decades. [12:20] Will Amalgam Fillings Cause Mercury Poisoning? There is tons of research about amalgam fillings and mercury poisoning. Mercury leaches out of amalgam fillings when they are in your mouth. The mercury will come out when you bite, drink hot beverages, and brush your teeth. The mercury vapor will go through all cells in your body. Your body will get rid of the mercury when the cell dies. The half-life of mercury in your tissue is about sixteen to thirty-two years. [26:00] What You Need To Know About FDOJ (Cavitation) You cannot diagnose cavitation on a two-dimensional x-ray. “Cavitation” is the term for a medical condition known as NICO or FDOJ, which can develop after tooth removals. FDOJ is fatty degenerative osteonecrosis and osteolysis of the jawbone. Many people develop problems after tooth removals because they don’t know how to heal properly. [35:55] Dr. Dominik Helps Patients From All Over The World Dr. Dominik had to develop a remote system to assist patients from all over the world. You need to send a current panoramic x-ray to his office. Dr. Dominik has examined about 40 specialists worldwide for experts in biologic dentistry and ceramic implants. Removing cavitations can help with health symptoms like SIBO, IBS, and eczema. [50:15] Brushing Your Teeth Too Hard Is Doing Damage In Your Mouth You want to gently rub when you brush your teeth. [15:40] The Effects of Light on Your Circadian Rhythm and Sleep Everyone has a circadian rhythm. Our body’s main environmental cue system for entrainment is light. Before modern times, there wouldn't have been any artificial blue light present. The sunrise and sunset would have trained our body clocks. When we are outside during sunset, it is the brain's cue to start reducing cortisol levels and producing something called melatonin, our sleep hormone. Cell phones, TVs, and other lights keep us in perpetual daytime and tell our brains that we don't need to go to sleep. One way to transition your brain to sleep mode is by keeping your room nice and dark. [28:05] Get Some Cardiovascular Exercise After Breakfast To Start Your Day Walk after you have a big breakfast and get some sunlight. People that go out and eat in sunlight in the mornings experience more weight loss than those that eat under blue light. Cardiovascular exercise seems to be more favored in the morning for humans from a circadian rhythm standpoint. Weight lifting is better in the afternoons in terms of our circadian rhythm. [36:10] How Eating Before Bed Will Impact Your Melatonin Production When you eat before bed, you're going to reduce the amount of melatonin production in your body. Melatonin is the most potent antioxidant in the world. The less melatonin you have, the less sleep hormone you'll have, the less REM sleep you'll get, and the less deep sleep you'll get. Without enough melatonin, you will not let your body recover properly while sleeping. If you're wearing sunscreen or if you're wearing sunglasses, there is a potential cause for concern because you're no longer sending messages from the raw sunlight to your body. The type of light that comes through the sunglasses is being filtered instead of natural sunlight. Many people believe that sunglasses and sunscreen are causing cancer because we are creating junk light. Also, if you are getting su

Todd White | The Best vs Worst Alcohol For Your Health & The Dark History of the Wine Industry KKP: 661
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Todd White. As the founder of Dry Farm Wines, a writer, speaker, and leader in the organic/Natural Wine movement, Todd White has widely educated communities on conscious consumption. Todd is a self-described biohacker who practices daily meditation, Wim Hof breathing, cold thermogenesis, a ketogenic diet, and daily 22-hour intermittent fasting. He is also a frequent speaker on topics including meditation and the Dry Farm Wines unique company culture. Built on a foundation of honesty and peace, Dry Farm Wines has seen remarkable growth, making it one of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S., without any debt or investors. Dry Farm Wines is endorsed by many leading U.S. performance influencers with pure Natural Wines that are lab tested to ensure each bottle is sugar-free (0-0.15g per glass), lower in sulfites, and lower in alcohol (under 12.5% alc/vol). The wines are friendly to low carb, Paleo, ketogenic, and low sugar diets. Dry Farm Wines is proud to be the largest Natural Wine merchant in the world, bringing awareness to Natural Wine consumption and supporting farmers who honor the soil. In this episode, Todd reveals the inspiration behind his company Dry Farm Wines. Following a ketogenic lifestyle, Todd started to relate to alcohol negatively. Eventually, this led to the creation of Dry Farm Wines and Todd’s immense passion for organic natural wine. Todd explains why you can’t buy healthy wine at a conventional store and why organic wine isn’t the same as natural wine. When Todd was therapeutically ketogenic, he had a negative relationship with wine. For many people who become ketogenic, it’s common that their relationship with alcohol also changes. Several factors that impact your relationship with alcohol - sugar and stress are significant. After stumbling upon an organic natural wine, Todd did some lab testing on wines. Eventually, Todd started Dry Farm Wines. Learn more here: dryfarmwines.com/ketokamp [15:30] Why You Can’t Buy Healthy Wine at Your Conventional Store Excess drinking can cause inflammation. Todd will drink wines that are between 10 and 11% alcohol. Conventional wines are generally 14 to 15% alcohol. Because there is less alcohol in natural wine, it dramatically affects how you feel, your brain health, and your inflammation. Wine used to be a healthy drink; now, wine is unhealthy. Multi-billion dollar marketing conglomerates are making wine production cheaper and faster. So, the wines in your typical store are unhealthy and cheaply made. [26:50] Did You Know That Wine Is the Only Major Food Group Without a Contents Label? Wine is the only major food group without a contents label.
