S2 Ep 97Episode 97: You Don't HAVE TO Lose Weight To Relieve Pain
I hear way too often from clients that, "this provider said I just need to lose weight."While weight certainly plays a role, pain in the knees, low back, and hips can be at least relieved without losing a pound. And a phrase like "just lose weight and you'll be fine" is about as helpful as telling someone they need to relax when they are stressed. If not approached the right way or with the right team in place "just lose weight" will fall on deaf and frustrated ears. So this week we talk about how pain can be improved without losing weight AND HOW relieving that pain actually HELPS YOU LOSE WEIGHT.Welcome to the Strength For Your Purpose Podcast where Dr. Phil Finemore, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, Cert. VRS, owner of WorkFitME Mobile Physical Therapy, has a goal of helping busy Maine professionals find the mental, emotional, and physical strength to fulfill their true purpose in life. The mission is to approach the topic of wellness holistically and show you how outer and inner strength can spill over to all areas of life, creating waves of positive change in its path.It would mean so much to me if you took the time to subscribe, rate, and review the podcast. S2 Ep 94Episode 94: Breathe With KateLyn Costa
My name is KateLyn Costa and I am a Trauma Informed Breathwork Guide and Coach. Currently, I am in my last year of finishing up my Masters in Social Work, with the intention to become a licensed therapist. For years I struggled with anxiety, depression, self-loathing, an eating disorder, and a general sense of dissatisfaction with life. Thankfully, these struggles led to great exploration of myself, as well as the world. I traveled throughout most of my 20’s and I needed it. Exploring the world, people, and cultures helped me reflect on who I am, what I believed, and who I wanted to be.I have tried all kinds of modalities, healing arts, therapies, and where I have landed is Breathwork. Why? Because after my first breathwork session I was able to FINALLY come home to myself. I felt peace like never before. I felt safe in my body. I felt a deep sense of trust and harmony. Breathwork changed my experience of myself and life in one session. It is now my joy to bring this sense of peace and harmony to others.Website: https://breathewithkatelyn.com/Upcoming events: https://breathewithkatelyn.com/breathwork-programs-and-events/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/breathewithkatelyn/Instagram handle: @BreatheWithKateLynTikTok handle: @BreatheWithKateLynWelcome to the Strength For Your Purpose Podcast where Dr. Phil Finemore, PT, DPT, Cert. S2 Ep 66Episode 66: Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things with Bob Turner
I can’t wait for you to hear this conversation I had with Bob Turner of Turner Builders in Windham and host of the Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things Podcast. Here's more about Bob:Hi, I’m Bob, and I’m the owner of Turner Builders. I am a six-time Iron Man finisher, an avid hiker, and outdoorsman. I began my journey as a remodeling contractor working together with my father. We started over 20 years ago and used our combined skills to complete small bathroom and kitchen renovations. As time went by, our dedication as contractors gained us the trust of many homeowners. We continued to improve and grow both our skillset and our team. We now have the ability to do larger renovations and even new home builds. From that, we learned to master every step of the construction process – excavation, foundation work, plumbing, framing, roofing, flooring, and painting. I encourage my team to keep in mind that we are working in homes, not on a job site. We all thrive on doing our work with expertise and skill in a timely fashion. Most recently through some continued self improvement and personal branding work I have been creating video content for the contracting business. As part of that process I launched the “Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things” Podcast. I am having fun interviewing interesting people as bringing some “post Covid” positivity to the world!YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/bootstrapbobturnerTurner Builders: https://turnerbuildersllc.com/Welcome to the Strength For Your Purpose Podcast where Dr. Phil Finemore, PT, DPT, Cert. S2 Ep 59Episode 59: Virtuous In Health with Erdem Ankarali
Learn more about Erdem and Virtue Fitness & Health at virtuefithealth.com and @erdemvirtuefit on social media.Hello, fantastic people! My name is Erdem Ankarali. I am the owner and founder of Virtue Fitness & Health coaching company. I help busy professionals create life-transforming fitness and wellness habits. I am a certified personal trainer and weight loss specialist.I chose to work with busy professionals because I worked in the hospitality industry for almost twelve years. I was too tired of standing and doing repetitive movements all day while dealing with stressful environments. A stressful job can break our body and soul. I used to be a very skinny kid and hated my body image. I was too embarrassed to sit shirtless at the beach. I was acting too confident, but I was insecure in my skin deep down. Our body image and the way we see ourselves determine self-confidence.I started lifting weights. I did not have any friends to work out with or a trainer to teach me. Being alone in this journey built my mental toughness. I moved to the U.S in 2017, and one year later, I got an injury by deadlifting. I lost 30lbs; I lost my health and confidence. This situation inspired me to become a fitness business owner. Welcome to the Strength For Your Purpose Podcast where Dr. Phil Finemore, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, Cert.
