Ep 107860 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: "If Each One Did Just One Thing Beautifully"

Hello to you listening in Sebastopol, California!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. I have been following legendary singer/songwriter, actress, teacher, and broad-coalition activist Holly Near for decades and decades. Once upon a time I sat in on a concert she gave at the Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church in Costa Mesa, California. My life was never the same. I felt then that music can be a vehicle for empathy, understanding, introspection, and social evolution in a rapidly changing world.Of her many songs that speak to me and millions of listeners like me Planet Called Home never fails to resonate. It’s the kind of earth-moving inspirational that will make your socks roll up and down and get you using your creativity to help this planet called home. How? “If each one did just one thing beautifully * Complex life on Earth might not die.”Click HERE to listen to Holly Near sing Planet Called Home/The Souls Are Coming Back on her recording of the same name.Click HERE to watch and listen to Holly Near’s performance of Planet Called Home given at the 2003 Bioneers National Conference.Story Prompt: What is the one thing you can do beautifully? Are you ready to brave what it will take to do that for our Planet Called Home? Write that story! Planet Called Home [Song by Holly Near]… Can you call on your imaginationAs if telling a myth to a childPut in the fantastical, wonderful, magicalAdd the romantic, the brave and the wild… Once upon a time there was a powerSo great that no one could know its namePeople tried to change it and rule with itBut always such arrogance ended in shame.… Thousands of years would pass in a momentHundreds of cultures would come and goEach generation with a glorious callingEven when they were too busy to know… And then one day after two millenniaWhich after all was a small part of timeHundreds of souls found their way out of nowhereTo be on earth at the threat of decline… Let's all go, they moved as one beingEven though each would arrive here aloneThey promised to work in grace with each otherTo brave the beautiful planet called home… Now, there was no promise that they could save itBut how exciting to give it a tryIf each one did just one thing beautifullyComplex life on Earth might not die… And so they arrived in a spectrum of colorsThe population on earth did explodeSome threw themselves in front of disasterAnd others slowly carried their load… Some adopted small girls from ChinaSome lived high in the branches of treesSome died as martyrs, some lived as healersAnd, some bravely walked with a dreadful disease… They mingled among each class and each cultureNot one of them could be identifiedBut together they altered just enough momentsTo help the lost and the terrified… To step outside of our egos and bodiesTo know for once that we truly are oneThen quickly we would forget to rememberBut that's okay, their job was well done… And earth went on for another millenniumNow its time for this song to endThis magical story of hope and wonderInvites you all to wake up and pretend to be… Fabulous creatures sent from the powerSouls that have come with one purpose in mindTo do one thing that will alter the outcomeAnd maybe together we can do it in time… Can you call on your imaginationAs if telling a myth to a childPut in the fantastical, wonderful, magicalAdd the romantic, the brave and the wildThe souls are comin backThe souls are comin backThe souls are comin back! You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe and spread the word with a generous 5-star review and comment - it helps us all - and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ For a no-obligation conversation about your communication challenges, get in touch with me today✓ Stay current with Diane on as “Wyzga on Words” on Substack and on LinkedInStories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Hello to you Patrice (long-time follower and supporter) listening in Big Bear, California!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.“Happiness is pretty simple: someone to love, something to do, something to look forward to.” [Rita Mae Brown, Hiss of Death]Said another way, “The three grand essentials of happiness are: Something to do, someone to love, and something to hope for." [Alexander Chalmers, Scottish writer whose papers are held at the National Library of Scotland]Either way, it all comes down to the same thing, right? Do what WAKES you happy! You heard that right. Ep 85460 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: Your Message Is Your Presence, Not a Product

Hello to you listening on Camano Island, Washington!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.Social media platforms can feel like echo chambers with everyone clamoring for the same thing: attention to their product. But you are not a product; you are a Presence. Your work, your message, your origin story is your You. It's the message of your heart. The message that says this is me! This is what I stand for! This is how I express myself! This is how I serve for the good! What would it take to reclaim your Presence whether you have a case to win, an origin story to tell, a keynote to shape, or a vision to sell? I believe that you know what you want to say; you just need someone to listen it out of you.As a story guide that is precisely what I do. How? Using traditional storytelling techniques and methods plus 30 years of story work in law, healthcare, business, education, and public speaking I help you get to the heart of your message and the message of your heart to reveal the You in your work. It’s a radical shift in mindset because my approach recognizes that you are not a product - you are a Presence. And, you are what the world needs and wants.CTA: If you’re curious about getting to the heart of your message and the message of your heart so you are seen, heard, understood, and listened to, contact me on LinkedIn or by email at Quarter Moon Story Arts to schedule your free Discovery Chat. Ep 78460 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: Which Comes First? Curiosity or Courage?

Hello to you listening in Kirkland, Washington!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. My Camino de Santiago pilgrimage is never far from my thoughts. Folks ask me all the time about the courage it took to walk 500 miles across Spain. But the courage was preceded by curiosity: What’s out there? Who might I meet? How will I manage? Do I have what it takes? What if I quit? Following are some good words to help you step into the adventure that’s waiting for you:“You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.” [A.A. Milne]“One doesn't discover new lands without consenting to lose sight, for a very long time, of the shore.” [Andre Gide]“Within all of us is a varying amount of space lint and star dust, the residue from our creation. Most are too busy to notice it, and it is stronger in some than others. It is strongest in those of us who fly and is responsible for an unconscious, subtle desire to slip into some wings and try for the elusive boundaries of our origin.” [ K.O. Eckland]Question: What are you curious to know? What courage will it take? What are you waiting for? You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe and spread the word with a generous 5-star review and comment - it helps us all - and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ Arrange your no-sales, Complimentary Coaching Consult,✓ Stay current with Diane on as “Wyzga on Words” on Substack and on LinkedInStories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 107460 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday: How My Established Origin Story Process Might Benefit You & Your Business

Hello to you listening in Helena, Montana! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Recently Sarah Elkins of Elkins Consulting asked me a question on her podcast: would you share a story about a client who came to you with an Origin Story challenge and how you solved it based on the process you’ve developed.Challenge: My client was launching her consultancy business providing corporate managers with solutions for creating sustainable positive change in the workplace; but she felt she had no clear story to share about what she was offering and why.Solution: We spent several weeks on an archeological dig of her life to uncover clues in her memories, experiences, values, education, ideas, and achievements. The archeological dig is the place where all the hidden treasures are found to manifest the Origin Story. It was an “ah ha!” moment for my client when she stepped into her power and confidently created her Origin Story that embraced her Who, her Why and her How - in her own words, her own voice.Process: Your Who + Your Why + Your How => Your Origin Story - the story of how you got from There to Here as well as the roadmap for how you’ll get from Here to There.Your Who: Who am I? What are my values, character traits, ideals, voice, purpose, and so on?Your Why: What’s my Why? What’s the work I offer, who’s it for, what’s it for, and why does it matter?Your How: What’s my How? How do I do my work in a way that is uniquely mine, that sets me apart and above all the rest?Question: Why is this step-by-step process key to creating a robustly authentic Origin Story? Because until we know Who we are we cannot understand our Why; and until we know our Why we cannot understand our How. It works together in a orderly process. Benefit: What did my client gain apart from a deep understanding of herself? A successfully solid Origin Story for her About page, marketing, branding, and keynote material, communication strategies, engaging story examples, and most importantly the power of her voice to say what she means and mean what she says so she is heard and listened to. CTA: If you’re curious about how you might benefit from gaining communication insight tools and skills for your Origin Story, let’s have a discovery chat. DM me on LinkedIn or e-mail me: [email protected]. Ep 83660 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: When You Were Lost How Did You Walk Your Way Clear?

Hello to you listening in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. The Camino de Santiago de Compostella is fairly well marked with yellow arrows painted by volunteers and images of scallop shells pointing the way West. But every once in a while - like life - the way is unclear, unmarked, hidden even. You can get lost. I learned this the hard way. Now what? You must stop and listen to your own voice. Silence the noise, the chatter, the distractions about which way to go. Your own knowing will help you out when you ask. And your guidebook. And your experience. Breathe. Quiet. Listen. Choose. Walk on. Eventually the Camino taught me that there is always a yellow arrow; but it might not be where I was looking.Story Prompt: When have you walked your way from lost into the clear? What happened next? Write that story! Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story. Ep 89160 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: Imagine How Our Errors Can Guide Us to Our Origin Story.

Hello to you listening in Lake Worth, Florida!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Working with my clients I become deeply involved in their Creation or Origin Stories. Creation stories provide important information about culture, values, ancestors and so forth that are passed down from generation to generation through storytelling. These stories inform our lives and help us create our own professional and personal stories.Often we imagine that only our good, wise, best choices and opportunities deserve to be part of our Creation story. Not so! I’m here to tell you, “Out of a whole lifetime, by God, sometimes the only thing that saves a person is error, and I know that we shall not be saved so long as our error is not precious to us.” [Clarice Lispector, from the story “Mineirinho”]You see, when we embrace our wrong turns, dead ends, mistakes and missteps as being precious to us, we can learn who we are not, who we are not meant to be, what we are not called to do. In our errors we find our very own powerful Creation story. My clients ask me how to find the powerful Creation story that belongs to them and where to start. I tell them: “Just pretend like it will all make sense if you simply begin.” And. It. Does.Story Prompt: When have your errors and missteps guided you to the heart of your narrative? Write that story!Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story. You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe and spread the word with a generous 5-star review and comment - it helps us all - and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ Arrange your no-sales Complimentary Coaching Consult today,✓ Opt In to my NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on as “Wyzga on Words” on Substack and on LinkedInStories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 107060 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: This Much I Know About Awakening Your Story

Hello to you listening in Invercargill, New Zealand!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. From the novel Love in the Time of Cholera: “He allowed himself to be swayed by his conviction that human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, but that life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves.” [ ~ Gabriel García Márquez]Our rebirth manifests as a story, and another, and another, and another. In my very earliest days as a beginning storyteller I learned 3 lessons that helped develop my role as a “story doula” or midwife to stories.One. Each person knows the story they want to tell; all they need is someone to listen it out of them.Two. When we listen the story out of another we do so with respect, delight, and appreciation.Three. Listening out the story in this way awakens the creative intelligence of the storyteller.Story Prompt: What rebirth are you listening for? Ep 105160 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: TIP => How to Get From Breakdown to Breakthrough

Hello to you listening in Aukland, New Zealand!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. There is a gift in hindsight!Hindsight can show us how a breakdown becomes a breakthrough, a spiritual crisis becomes a spiritual awakening, a trail of tears becomes the trail of gratitude. It has to be hindsight because when we’re swamped by difficult situations we feel scared, uncertain, anxious, or worse. Then time passes. Now, we can look at the gift in what we perceived as complete and utter failure to create a new life, share our ideas, grow our business, and so on.What we perceived as failure becomes the opportunity we could not appreciate when we were feeling like a loser.Time and hindsight become growth.Story Prompt: Think about a time when it looked like you had failed miserably, but with time and hindsight you grasped the opportunity for a do-over. What happened then? Write that story! You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ Arrange your free no-obligation Discovery Call to learn more,✓ Opt In to my NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 70960 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: Why Are You Chasing Clients Instead of Signaling Them?

Hello to you listening in Port Townsend, Washington!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.Admiralty Head Lighthouse harkens back to the day of sailing ships powered by wind. When the ships entered the Strait of San Juan de Fuca from the Pacific Ocean the ship captain would know to steer a hard right to starboard when he saw the blazing beacon from the Lighthouse high on a bluff 127 feet above Admiralty Inlet before continuing safely south to Puget Sound and on into Seattle. Each lighthouse - no matter where in the world - has its very own distinctive light pattern, or signature. Lighthouses mark points of navigation, warn about dangerous coastlines, and guide ships into a safe harbor. But not all harbors are created equal for all boats. Some are for deep draft vessels, others for pleasure craft, and so on. Here’s the thing about a lighthouse: it doesn’t run up and down the coast beckoning all boats to its harbor. It serves a specifically sized boat.Question: Lighthouses don’t chase boats; why do you chase clients? What is it only you have to offer? Who needs it and wants it? How will you attract your particular client with your very own distinctive beacon of light? And, how will they know you are signaling them?Call to Action: If this episode resonates with you and you’re looking for someone to help navigate you and your message, contact me on LinkedIn or Quarter Moon Story Arts for a no-sales complimentary consult. You’re invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, share a nice shout out on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! Ep 78760 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday: What If You Had Nothing to Do But Walk?

Hello to you listening in Billericay, Essex, England! And a short YouTube Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Folks ask me: What was the most difficult lesson on my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage? Letting go. Letting go of the way I was. Letting go of my old self. Giving myself over to the walking. You think it’s easy? Get up in the dark, pack in the dark, head out in the dark. Walk 15 or 20 miles a day, no matter how hot or cold or wet. No matter how rocky or lonesome or tired. Nothing prepares you for walking Camino but to walk Camino. How do you do it? Here’s a tip: surrender. Give yourself over. You are here now. Make the most of it. When you want to stomp around and make furious gestures, make the most of that. Make the most of your joys and complaints. Give voice to them all.And then give yourself back to the only job you have: to walk. Every day my Camino lesson shows up like this: “Just walk it off, Diane!”Question: What single-minded purpose of yours guides you along your way? You’re invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, follow, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! Hello to you listening in Lucknow, India!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga./“Story is a way to resurrect our humanity so that we can engage and connect with others and transform the lives of those we serve.” [Diane Wyzga]We are all “living stories.” The best stories usually arise from the pivotal moments of our lives. Why? People face hardships. Our hardships show us the way to recovery. When we tell our stories - when we give ourselves permission to express that wounded, vulnerable, authentic side - those who hear our story can say, “What! You, too? I thought I was the only one.” [C.S. Lewis] And now that I know I’m not alone I, too, can summon the courage to get myself from Here to There.Story Prompt: When have you given yourself permission to tell yourself about how you overcame hardship? Ep 106660 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: Your Voice Was Made to Be Heard

Hello to you listening in Hackney, London, UK!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe like me you grew up at a time when children were supposed to be seen and not heard. I ask you! What child doesn’t want to be heard? And yet society worked hard to quiet our voices. In time I was able to say, "Hey! Nobody asked me about being quiet. I want to be seen, heard, understood and listened to!" I had to work at saying what I mean and meaning what I say. It’s not just words. No two voices are alike. Each voice has a singular tone, an energetic imprint that’s all its own. Our voices have the power to heal, to hurt, to love, and to transform others. When we are aware of the impact our voices can have, we can consciously choose what we are expressing, and how we are making ourselves heard. It’s your voice. It was made to be heard. When we take responsibility for the power our voice has to shift attitudes and behaviors, unbalance the status quo, and create harmony and compassion in the universe, that’s the place where we become seen and heard.Question: How do you plan to become seen and heard today? You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe and spread the word with a generous 5-star review and comment - it helps us all - and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ For a no-obligation conversation about your story questions, don’t delay - get in touch today,✓ Opt In to my Every Now & Again NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn and as "Wyzga on Words" on Substack.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 106360 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: What Is it About a Walk in the Woods and Belonging?

Hello to you listening in Muhos, Finland!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. We’ve had days of continuous rain; but I’ve discovered an antidote to cabin fever: walking the deep woods on my island. In the forest I’m reminded of the reciprocity of the universe - the give and take between us and the highest of powers. In her book Native: Identity, Belonging, and Rediscovering God Kaitlin B. Curtice asks: “What is it about a walk in the woods to remind us about the reciprocity of the universe? What do I mean? The bloodline of God is connected to everything . . . shells on the ocean shore, the mushrooms growing in the forest, the trees stretching to the clouds, the tiniest speck of snow in the winter, and our dust-to-dustness—we are all connected and tethered to this sacred gift of creation.” [Kaitlin B. Ep 88260 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday: How Will You Know the Stranger Who Was Yourself?

Hello to you listening in Flushing, Borough of Queens, New York!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe like me you stop and wonder who you are, where is the girl (or fellow) who used to be you, whether you’re on the right track, and so on. It feels insecure, doesn’t it, not to have all the answers sometimes. Perhaps there is great wisdom in resting in that insecurity, stop resisting, stop pushing back, wait for the time (and the answer) that will come. The poet, Derek Walcott might have been musing on these questions when he wrote Love After Love. He might have known his words would bring comfort, hope, anticipation, maybe even optimism. That’s what poets do. Love After Love“The time will comewhen, with elationyou will greet yourself arrivingat your own door, in your own mirrorand each will smile at the other's welcome, and say, sit here. Eat.You will love again the stranger who was your self.Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heartto itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignoredfor another, who knows you by heart.Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.Sit. Feast on your life.” [- by Derek Walcott] You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ Arrange your no-sales, Complimentary Coaching Consult,✓ Opt In to my Every Now & Again NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on Substack and LinkedInStories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 87660 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: What's a Story From When You Were Too Young to Remember Remember?

Hello to you listening in Cologne, Germany!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. My baby brother, Paul, is a well-married, well-established adult whom I love dearly. It seems like only yesterday the family of 9 was camping in New Hampshire. One morning the parents parked the family station wagon in a grocery store lot taking Paul with them seated in the grocery cart. Time passed. They returned with the groceries, stowed them in the station wagon, got back in and drove away leaving Paul in the shopping cart in the parking lot. Of course us kids thought this was hilarious and we waved goodbye out the windows.Time passed. Mom looked around asking: where’s Paul? We could barely speak for laughing. One brave soul pointed back in the direction we came. Ever see a station wagon pull a 180 at high speed on a country road? There he was just where the parents left him, calmly looking around at whatever was there. Paul’s sense of serenity has stayed with him over the decades. As has his story. Story Prompt: Once upon a time you were too young to remember; but, there are parents, siblings, maybe family friends who are all too eager to share a story or three about what happened to you when you were too young to remember. Reach out to them and discover it. What is that story? Who shared it with you? What did it feel like to hear it? Remember to “Write that story!” and say: “Thanks for the memories.” You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ Arrange your no-sales, Complimentary Coaching Consult,✓ Opt In to my NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn and SUBSTACKStories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 106060 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: My Clients Stand & Deliver Their Messages Because It Works!

Hello to you listening in Pender Island, BC, Canada!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. To this very day my clients from classrooms to courtrooms can repeat my opening lines about presentations:“Put down the paper and nobody gets hurt.”“It’s a privilege to stand and deliver your work with your words in your voice; so use it!”The human voice is the most powerful instrument we have to heal, inspire, unify, and entertain. A “heartfelt story artfully told” breaks down barriers, invites community, solves problems, and influences decisions. I believe that our audiences are hungry to receive the gift of our spoken words. As a speaker you will hear right away when a written turn of phrase fails, when you lack a bridge from one thought to the next, or when your story begins to unravel like an old sweater because it lacks integrity; it does not hang together from beginning to end.I have produced almost 1,100 podcast episodes. Over the 4 years that Stories From Women Who Walk has been on the global airwaves I’ve cultivated a practice of embedding stories and messages, tips, techniques, story prompts, commentaries, and provocative questions into mere minutes. These episodes are my audio business cards.Practical Tips:• Get comfortable with the sound of your voice.• The more you speak your words out loud the more confident you become, more fearless, more influential.• Embrace the power of your spoken word.• Practice speaking your written words before you deliver a program, speech, presentation, or idea pitch.• Your clear, concise, and compelling spoken words are a gift from you to your audience. Take advantage of it!CTA: "If you can't find the right words, don't default to the wrong ones.” Check out the many services I offer to force your Communication Transformation at Quarter Moon Story Arts. Schedule a no-sales, complimentary coaching consult. I can help you successfully clarify your ideas and amplify your message. Ep 102960 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: What Did You Learn & Who Did You Help Today?

Hello to you listening in Edmond, Oklahoma!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds of Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe like me you practice paying attention to signs, symbols, people, and opportunities that show us the way, help us make a decision, provide what we need just when we need it. The Universe has unlimited ways to get our attention, wake us up, and help guide us on the path. It’s a good reminder that we do not go it alone. The other day I reconnected with Donna Cravotta, friend, colleague and the brilliance behind Cravotta Media Group and Real 50 Over 50 Visibility Project. We arranged for a 20-minute Meet & Greet that became a richly rewarding 90-minute heart-to-heart dialogue.Along the way I learned about a daily practice that Donna has taught others: You don’t go to bed until you can name something you learned and someone you helped.Story Prompt: What daily practice of yours keeps you going? Write that story! You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out What I Offer,✓ Arrange your Complimentary Coaching Session,✓ Opt In to my NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 101760 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: You’ve Always Had Your Origin Story Power, My Dear. Now It’s Time to Use It!

Hello to you listening in Ritzville, Washington!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds (and a bit more) for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.Fact: No one can teach anyone how to be a storyteller; although there are many who claim to be able to do just that. But there are people who can teach you how to teach yourself to be a storyteller. I am one of them. Here’s how I teach you to teach yourself. We start here: you know the story you want to tell, the ideas you want to clarify, the message you want to amplify; all you need is someone to help listen it out of you; to help you find the words you didn’t know you had. Why is this key? Because you’re in charge; you’re empowered; you will use your own words in your own voice to connect human-to-human. Emotional connection doesn’t get any more authentic than that.Over my lifetime I’ve dedicated myself to helping professionals bring their stories to life in the publishing realm, courtrooms, hospitals, board meetings, or the airwaves. My clients’ stories have influenced juries, built markets, spread ideas, and catalyzed change. What’s more, I created my 60 Seconds podcast episode method - a niche the world needs - almost 4 years ago and grew it to over 1,000 global episodes.Benefit & Take-away: What’s the benefit to you? What will you take away? Your origin or personal brand story for marketing, connection, and influence. A heartfelt story artfully told about how you got from There to Here, the challenges you faced, the goals you accomplished, and why the journey matters so that you, your work and ideas are recognized for the value they are! Your story told with clarity and confidence.CTA: Curious? Let’s have a conversation. You can arrange for your no-sales complimentary Discovery Coaching Session by tapping the link in the Episode Notes OR e-mailing me at [email protected] OR direct message me on LinkedIn. You’ve always had the power, my dear! Now it’s time to tell your origin story. You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out What I Offer,✓ Arrange your no-sales, complimentary Discovery Coaching Session, ✓ Opt In to my monthly NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 80860 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: TIP: When You’re Stuck Move & Draw Your Way Out

Hello to you listening in Pamplona, Spain!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.I was asked the other day what do I do when I’m stuck? When the client work isn’t as robust as I’d like? When the podcast episodes don’t seem to flow from a place of creativity but feel bogged down in muck. You know what I mean. We’ve all been there. I have an idea to share and I bet you have some, too. Research has shown that movement, not language, is the foundation of thought. [Mind in Motion: How Action Shapes Thought by Barbara Taversky] Action shapes thought. There’s a lot of neuroscience I don’t understand about how it works; but I can say this: while I don’t know how it works I do know that it works. Motion is the lotion for our thoughts. Maybe we’re a species of movers and shakers first. Think about it! We were cave drawing before we began talking in words. When you get to that place where you feel stuck in the mucky middle of a project, idea, book chapter, whatever. Get up and move. Draw your stuckness. Stick figures are fine. Symbols are great. It’s not about the art; it’s about the motion that creates the thought you want to have. Try big sidewalk chalks on a concrete driveway or magic markers on a big easel pad. I like the big Post It easel pads. I can draw on a page, rip it off the pad, stick it to the wall and after I have a few I step back to look at the problem. The answer is often staring me right in the face.Question: What also works for you when you are stuck in the mucky middle? You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer✓ Arrange your no-sales, complimentary Coaching Session,✓ Opt In to my NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Ep 79060 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: TIP: What to Do When You Don’t Have Work to Do

Hello to you listening in Jablonne nad Orlici, Czech Republic! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe like me you have spaces in the year when you are not overly busy. In fact, you might be underly busy. Perhaps your reaction is to scramble to be productive. But productivity is not always related to action. What if there’s another valuable way to use the underly busy times? Amos Tversky, an expert of decision making, wrote, “The secret to doing good research is always to be a little underemployed. You waste years by not being able to waste hours.” [Amos Tversky — An Amazing Man]Practical Tip: Think about this for a moment. What’s the rush? There is time to devote to day dreaming or staring out the window while giving our wonderfully creative imaginations time to breathe, show up, solve a problem. Question: What would be so wrong about giving ourselves permission to be a little underly busy? How might that notion play out in your world? You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer,✓ Arrange your no-sales complimentary coaching session,✓ Opt In to my NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Nagging at you? Just out of reach? You have something to say. But you can’t find the words. Ep 84860 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: A Technique for Calm & Steady Peace of Mind

Hello to you listening in Bordeaux, France!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe like me you find yourself stuck in a line at the post office, the grocery story, the ferry terminal, or just everyday traffic red lights as far as the eye can see. You feel yourself growing increasingly impatient, chest clenches, heart rate ticks up, shoulders squeeze, lips tighten. No peace of mind to be had.Practical Tip: You are not only the master of your fate - you are also the master of your mind. All it takes is a little practice. Try this: Breathe in slowly and mindfully saying to yourself, “This is my in-breath. I know I’m breathing in.” Pause for a moment and breathe out slowly and mindfully saying to yourself, “This is my out-breath. I know I’m breathing out.” After a few of these in-breaths and out-breaths (or maybe more than a few) you’ll feel yourself softening, your shoulders relax, your heart rate slows, your mind a bit more calm, peaceful, steady and ready to continue on your project, on your way.Remember that this practice is available to you at any moment to restore and refresh. Guaranteed!
