Shaunda McDill joined The Heinz Endowments in October 2017 as the program officer for arts and culture, following more than a decade of nonprofit executive and arts management experience. Shaunda has worked for theater companies across the country, including The Goodman Theatre of Chicago, Second Stage Theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse and Cornerstone Theater Company. She also founded demaskus, a nonprofit, service-oriented collective of artists and administrators who produce theatrical projects sharing stories of the marginalized. In Pittsburgh, Shaunda served as vice president of programming and cultivation at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, where she managed all artistic and educational programs. As the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s director of public relations, she headed both national and local public relations campaigns, including the North American premiere of Florentijn Hofman’s Rubber Duck Project. Shaunda spoke with Natalie and Kim about the depth of culture in Pittsburgh, and her work connecting artists with resources. Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including: The Riverhounds have their last home regular season game with FC Cincinnati. The Riverhounds will finish in the top 4 in their group. With their season finish, the Riverhounds have earned a home playoff game. Will the Riverhounds finish third, or will they move into second for the playoffs. The Ryder Cup was pretty much one-sided after the day 2 morning session. Europe rolled to a 17.5-10.5 victory over all. Europe entered the final day, which was all singles matches, up 10-6. The PGA 2017-2018 season is over. The PGA 2018-2019 season starts with the Safeway Open in Napa Valley at the Silverado Resort and Spa. Not too many big names playing in the tournaments in the near future. Steve wouldn't be surprised if a few big names snuck into the early PGA 2018-2019 tournaments. We had 2 playoff games for the MLB division for the first time ever. First off, the Cubs/Brewers was exciting. The Cubs/Rockies was crazy. There were lots of chances that the Cubs just didn't capitalize on. The A’s/Yankees was closer than it looked. For the NL it looks like Braves/Dodgers, Brewers/Rockies. AL will be Cleveland/Houston and Yankees/Sox. Tom Willson hits 20 games. Scott Hartnell retires. The Capitols had a big win!! Penguins season is officially started! Pitt took a hell of a loss to UCF. Pitt comes back home to take on Syracuse. Syracuse saw a recent loss to Clemson. Kansas is headed into Morgantown to take on WVU. PSU is coming off a big loss to OSU which will screw the rest of their season. PSU is headed to Lansing to take on Michigan State. Notre Dame had a helluva game and a real good win over Stanford. The Irish are headed to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech. Steelers. Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including: We've got a Riverhounds update since the last episode. The Riverhounds are nearing the end of regular season before the playoffs start. Matt gives an update on where the Riverhounds sit in standings as they near the end of the season. In PGA Tour news, Tiger Woods had the lead from day one of the final PGA event of the 2018 season. The focus during the PGA final event was on Tiger Woods claiming his 80th career victory. Justin Rose won the FedEx Cup in the most watched final round of the Tour Championship ever. The focus turns to France and the Albatros Course at Le Golf National in Guyancourt outside of Paris for the Ryder Cup. The US is favored to win the Ryder Cup this year. Because the Ryder Cup is in France, coverage is during the wee hours when most people in the US are sleeping. The Pirates are nearing the end of the season. As the Pirates look at the end of the season, they are (at the time of this recording)are over .500. The rest of the MLB is headed to post-season. The AL is set on its playoff seeding, and the NL is far from over with teams very tight down to the end. The Penguins are approaching their home opener, and season opener, with the Caps coming to PPG Paints arena. The Caps have their banner raising at home. The Flyers added a mascot. After a good win at home over Georgia Tech, the Pitt Panthers had a seesaw game in Chapel Hill. Pitt had a 3-point loss to the Tar Heels to give them a 2-2 overall and 1-1 conference record. Pitt heads to UCF in Orlando. PSU is currently ranked #9. PSU had two commanding wins over Kent and Illinois, respectively. Ohio State is headed into Happy Valley for College Game Day on ESPN against PSU. WVU is 3-0 and leading the Big 12 with some commanding wins. The Mountaineers head down to Texas to take on the Red Raiders at Texas Tech. Notre Dame had a commanding win over Wake Forest and are 4-0 overall despite a few scary wins over Ball State and Vanderbilt. Stanford heads to South Bend. Watch out for RD Tony Jones, Jr. He will remind you of a guy that also wore #6 at that position. Steelers had a shitty game with the Chiefs, and a lot better game at Tampa. Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including: The Riverhounds had a big bounce back game with a 4-1 win over the Bethlehem Steel. The Riverhounds pretty much had total domination in the game. Louisville City comes to Highmark Stadium. The Riverhounds are back in 2nd place with 7 games left in the regular season. PGA Tour has a week off between the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Course outside Atlanta GA. The FedEx Cup is narrowed to 30 players. It took an extra day and a playoff to determine a winner which was Keegan Bradley won out over Justin Rose - who is the world #1 - in the BMW Championship. A lot of big names finished high in the BMW Championship. Jordan Spieth Finished 31st - one spot outside. In MLB news, the AL West and NL West are the hot divisions to be keeping an eye on. NL Central is a flip-flop of the Cubs and Brewers. The Pirates had a 7-game winning streak before running into the Cards. The Pirates held off a sweep. With the rain out, the Buccos WILL get to play in October. The Pirates are looking to end on a .500 season. NHL camps start. In NCAA football, Pitt got shelled by PSU with a bad showing. Pitt has GT coming to town. PSU has Kent State headed into Happy Valley. Notre Dame beat Ball State in a game they should have lost based on the stats sheet. Thank God for running backs and a bad run block defense from Ball State. Games are postponed due to a hurricane. The Steelers looked like POOOOO!!!! The Riverhounds let in in the tying goal in extra time while the defense and keeper were out of position. Against FC Cincy the Riverhounds let the winning goal in in the 88th min to take the loss. The Riverhounds host Bethlehem Steel for a College Night match. Louisville City comes to town to battle the Riverhounds. Bryson DeChambeau wins the Dell Technologies Championship At TPC Boston. DeChambeau has two in a row in the FedEx Cup playoff. Bryson DeChambeau leads with 2,328 points over Dustin Johnson. The PGA heads to Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, a suburb of West Philly in the BMW Championship. Three of the four Captan picks for the Ryder Cup were made. The Pirates are done for the season and have made final trades. The Pirates are dumping salary and seem to be preparing for next season. Cutch was traded to the Yankees since Judge is on DL still and they need a position player and a bat for the outfield. The NL West is still the hot division. Keep an eye on the AL West. In the AL East, the Sox are about to get Chris Sale and David Price back off the DL. Looks like the Sox are in a great position ahead of the Yanks. Pens training camp to start on the 14th. NCAA Week One is in the books. Pitt won 33-7 with PSU coming to town next. PSU won 45-38 in OT, and now they're heading to Pitt. WVU won 40-14. Youngstown State goes to Morgantown. Notre Dame won 24-17. Ball State comes to South Bend. There's a lot going on with the Steelers this week. Landry Jones is out. No Bell. Steelers are preparing for Cleveland. Fantasy Football.
