He is also the creative director for the Seek Go Create Podcast. You can connect with JK on his website or Instagram.Episode Highlights[03:28] Introducing JKJK Winders is a multi-skilled artist who provides creative direction and consultation to people and businesses.JK recently became an uncle.[05:26] Seek Go Create as a Family ProjectSGC is a family endeavor. As SGC’s producer, JK follows many different podcasts because every podcast has a unique spin.JK believes SGC can provide a fresh insight on how they tackle the coming season as a family.[11:18] The Challenges of 2020 For JK, "confusing" is the word that captures 2020, given the inconsistency and uncertainty of all that's happened.  Although he was used to working remotely, he still felt angst over the future. JK worked up the courage to plan a large event in Yosemite, but it fell through because of COVID. He felt defeated and personally attacked by the pandemic. After sending refund emails, JK realized that he’s still proud of overcoming his initial reluctance to organize that event in the first place. [16:56] “Even though it didn't happen, I'm still kind of proud of that willingness to just be like, ‘Yeah, so what if no one responds?’ I'm ready to put something like this out there for people.” - Click Here to Tweet This[17:52] Test of WillingnessIn retrospect, JK feels that most of the year’s happenings are a test of his resolve. He would give himself a B+ or an A- for accepting the turn of events. JK feels that he connected with his community and widened his circle in 2020 more than any other year.  [22:12] On Content Creation As a photographer, JK initially hesitated to showcase his work on Instagram. During the pandemic, he decided to up his social media game. Now, JK believes that social media offers a platform to inspire people. Even if you have a small following, people are listening to your story. As a content creator, you have a responsibility to release quality work and positivity. [24:12] “And even if you have a modest following, that amount of people that are willing to listen to you and hear what your message is. . .there are people that are looking and reading and listening. And then it really became more of a responsibility. It's just like I got to make sure that I put good work, positivity out there.” - Click Here to Tweet This[26:40] Best Social Media PracticesA strong social media presence starts with knowing that you have a story worth telling.Lean into what makes you unique.Unlike influencers that operate in a barter-like system, JK focused on developing relationships with brands and businesses like Bespoke Post and Folk Magazine. [26:57] “The thing that I kind of started leaning into was just figuring out how to live my life as a story worth telling. And that has really made this great opportunity to document it in special ways to create my own sense of individualism.” - Click Here to Tweet This[31:45] Building an Instagram PortfolioInstagram has become the go-to place to assess a photographer’s work. A photographer’s Instagram feed should be a good representation of his abilities. [33:09] Spur-of-the-Moment DecisionsIn May 2020, he bought a motorcycle on a whim even though he didn’t have a license nor ridden a bike before.   Although he was terrified during the motorcycle safety course, he realized that it was a fun experience once he got over that fear. He believes that purchase was one of his best decisions since it allowed for many joyful moments during the pandemic.  [3

However, her labor story turned out differently than what she had expected.Despite preparing her body through her healthy lifestyle, she still experienced over 75 hours of contractions. She shares that stepping into motherhood involves a feeling of wanting to control more than you can.Dealing with unmet expectations includes letting go of this ‘control,’ trusting the process, and putting your faith in God.[27:35] Lessons from Her TravelsAfter finishing college, Dulce felt the need to leave and get out.Dulce signed up as an au pair to go overseas. She traveled across countries and made friends in places such as Rome and Australia. Despite her occasional frustrations, she saw traveling as a fun experience because she learned a lot about herself.Looking back, Dulce learned that she is incredibly strong. She recalls that she was her best self in those years.Listen to the full episode to learn more about Dulce’s remarkable insights on traveling.[34:16] “Those years of traveling, of being spontaneous, of going wherever I'm wanted to go. Those were the years that I should have let trickle into my late 20s, and I should have continued being that despite what the world told me.” - Click Here to Tweet This[36:31] Social Media and Mental HealthComparison only makes Dulce think that she needs to look a certain way to be successful. This thinking only made her regret how she chose to live. Dulce reminds us to avoid having to compare ourselves with others.[37:48] “So we can hear 100 times, don't believe everything you see on social media, that's just their highlight reel. I think that we can hear that a million times. But at the end of the day, if we're still going to have an attitude of comparison … it's still going to affect us.” - Click Here to Tweet This[40:00] Childhood Christmas Memories Tim joins Dulce in reminiscing how Christmas decorations were put up in the Winders household. The Winders have a tradition of giving special gifts on Christmas night, su

Along with that, he does sales and website management on the side to sustain his family. He has always loved 'vision' and looking ahead.[05:26] Becoming a FatherUpon becoming a father, he became a lot more selfless and a lot more tactful in his approach to life. His natural tendency tends to be just going along with the flow. However, as a dad, there’s a lot more structure in his decisions.[08:43] On Meeting TimHe grew up in Virginia and moved out to Colorado for Bible College. Tim was in the same apartment complex when they moved in.He saw Tim at school as a shepherd who guided a lot of people along.Listen to the full episode to know more about how Tim and Hunter met.[12:54] Experiencing Growth in Bible SchoolHe grew up in a Baptist Church and always knew that he wanted to be a pastor. He went through an identity crisis during his first year at Bible College. When the first year ended, he was able to get out of his environment and pushed himself to grow somewhere more conducive. During his second year, he started to get a vision, and he shifted his personality to support others. By this time, he got closer to God.[15:27] “You know, I could have tried harder, I know that. But sometimes people need to be reached out to, and that's what I needed, and I know that a lot of people needed that.” - Click Here to Tweet This[17:07] On LonelinessLoneliness happens because of the lack of depth in relationships and the feeling of not being valued.Being in the young and cool crowd feels good for a moment. However, Hunter says that he would have zero drive, purpose, or vision at the end of the day.[21:48] Hunter’s Background and Path to Bible SchoolFor Hunter, if he didn’t go to Bible School, he probably would have made mistakes that would not be his life’s finest moments. It was a defining time for him when his family shifted to full gospel movement when he was 15. Transitional periods and getting removed from a comfortable place enable growth. When they switched churches, he stepped into a lot of leadership and consistency. His father taught him the importance of integrity and proper work ethics while his mom taught him grace and forgiveness. [26:18] Secrets to Turning Your Life AroundStart with understanding the situation you're in. Otherwise, you're going to be stuck where you are.You look, understand what’s going on, execute, and create something new to take place. Seek to understand your life.Hunter says that you also need outside feedback like counseling and opening up to people.[26:20] “If you don't have an understanding on whether there's an issue or not in your life, or understanding that something needs to change in your life, then you're just going to be stuck in where you are until you get to that point.” - Click Here to Tweet This[29:52] Navigating Ministry and SalesHunter helped a friend start a ministry. When his friend got married, he handed it over to Hunter, where he took leadership. They were treating it like a church by doing outreaches and videos. Upon planning to get married, he had to transition away from the ministry.Hunter is also preoccupied with mobile and online web management, as well as sales. For anyone who wants to be in full-time ministry, don’t discredit where you’re at because God will help you grow.Listen to the full podcast to know more about this transitional period in Hunter’s life. [36:18] “Don’t discredit where you’re at, and just let God teach you where you’re at, and He’ll show you many things, and He’ll grow you in the areas you need to gr

It goes live every night from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time across the United States. One woman and four men play the games. The girl has three rounds of questions to ask the guys, who have 30 seconds to respond. She eliminates one man per round in March Madness style. The last man standing matches with the girl, and they can talk in a private chat box that expires in 24 hours.[03:57] Does the World Need Another Dating App?The dating app market is very saturated, but Savvy is significantly different from its competitors by being a personality-based matchmaking service.[08:39] What’s the Current Status of Savvy?Savvy officially launched toward the end of August and is currently available on Apple products only. They are currently headed towards the 10,000-download mark.[11:47] The Beginnings of SavvyBrendan and Fernando studied at Villanova together. They wanted to create something that would improve the social scene on campus.Savvy was well-received at Villanova, so they started pitching the app to other universities like USC and UCLA, specifically to sororities and fraternities.[15:35] The Team’s BackgroundsFernando comes from a family of entrepreneurs.Brendan was brought up to work at a bank, but he didn't see himself in that career.Jack took computer science because it’s an industry where you can do something and potentially touch a million people without spending a dime.[26:41] The Ups and Downs of Creating SavvyIf you’re trying to make an app, you need to build your team. They initially outsourced their projects. However, none of the development companies they hired could build a scalable, bug-free, and launchable product.Brendan and Fernando’s biggest mistake was they were not Computer Science majors. They needed Jack to complete the team.[33:14] Jack Joins SavvyJack does patchwork because each outsourced development agency has its own design patterns and thought processes. They had to balance getting the app out in the market quickly and making sure the app works.Currently, Savvy still has technical debt from the bad practices that have built up from outsourced development.[37:50] “If you're working in a specific section of the code, leave it better than you found it.” - Click Here to Tweet This[38:36] Funding and ProfitabilityThe app is self-funded. The team has reached out to VCs and angels, but none have led to a finalized deal. There is no pro version of the app yet. The current revenue stream is based on a subscription model. They have an upcoming referral program for the app. They are also planning to insert product placement questions once they hit the 200,000-user mark.[46:46] The Start-Up Culture of Working TogetherThe team is living all over the country right now. They only meet and work virtually. The team is unified by building and sustaining the app as long as possible, getting funding down the line, and eventually meeting and living in a centralized location. They use Slack and Zoom to track each other’s progress and promote togetherness within the team virtually.[43:25] “You have to be really careful with who you raise your first round with because that's who you're getting married to.” - Click Here to Tweet This

How to Take Personal Responsibility of Your Own Success with Glen Dunzweiler

Society has conditioned us to be prejudiced against the homeless. We see them as failures — the dregs of society. But these are people who have gone through struggles and hardships, and they need direct action from their community to help them get back on their feet. A lot of people read my book, or listen to my show, or hear me speak, and they want a tactic. There's nothing wrong with tactics. I love efficiency hacks. She is the president of Millennial Solution and the co-founder of The Purpose Company. You can reach Gabrielle through her personal website and her and her husband’s website.Episode Highlights[02:40] Finding ClarityMany of us seek clarity but do not know how to find it.Constant access to information doesn’t equate to constant access to wisdom.Clarity gives you confidence that you’re going in the right direction.[05:37] Struggling with Purpose & ClarityGabrielle believes that about 95% of the population does not know their purpose.Around 5% have clarity about their purpose and how to use it, while 2% are currently walking in their purpose. This is rooted in our wrong definition of purpose. There’s a difference between knowing your purpose and using it.For the past seven years, Gabrielle and her husband have been creating a system for people to find clarity and purpose.[08:19] Responding to the Current World SituationGabrielle and her husband knew that going into lockdown was going to be either a gift or a crisis. They realized that how they react to it would be entirely up to them. The pandemic has reset people's priorities and showed them what is important to them.[11:47] The Millennial SolutionShe started the company to help organizations understand the next generation.Every brand and team they work with wants to know what’s wrong with millennials. As they worked with these organizations, they realized it wasn’t a millennial issue; it was a ‘significance’ issue. The overarching theme all goes back to purpose.[14:25] Significance as a Key Value for MillennialsMillennials have been told at a young age that they can be anything they want to be. They were encouraged by optimistic parents to find fulfilling careers, which influenced how they entered the workforce.Meanwhile, the older generation’s perspective is that you don't deserve to feel fulfilled until you're middle-aged or until you've ‘earned’ it.For older generations, there’s a distinct difference between fulfillment in work and fulfillment in personal life.[18:27] How Formative Events Shaped the Millennial MindsetThe formative event for millennials used to be 9/11. Then, it became the rise of technology. The economic recession of the late 2000s to early 2010s completely reset millennials’ expectations of roles in the marketplace.Older generations often criticize millennials for having a ‘quarter-life crisis.’ Millennials aren’t as dependent upon their employer to ensure they can maintain their lifestyle.“We have constant access to information, but that doesn't mean we have constant access to wisdom.” - Click Here to Tweet This[22:45] Money-Related ParadigmsMillennials have helped lead the charge in the thought processes related to money.Ten years ago, companies were selling things in a transactional type of way. Now, companies have a more transformational role for their employees and consumer market.Generations either replicate or rebel against those who raised them.Millennials are rebelling against the materialism of their parents; they care more about access than ownership.[28:39] Myths About the Millennial Generation“Millennials are lazy.” — Gabrielle says people who seem lazy do not lack motivation. They do, however, lack direction. The key to transforming this is knowing their purpose.“Millennials feel entitled.” — Millennials’ “entitlement” is misdirected ambition. They have incredible self-confidence and want to be taken seriously.Respect, for older generations, entails distance. For millennials, it entails closeness.“Millennials are spoiled.” — Millennials are seen as spoiled because they were raised by parents so lovingly. However, now tha

However, Carvana would be a better definition of disruption because of the excellent customer experience it provides.Even with COVID-19, Carvana continues to disrupt and be relevant because it is easier and safer to buy a car online.[32:43] Insights on Creating Customer Experience Think about cutting the steps to make things more efficient, direct, and cheaper. There is an emotional component in product selling.Find marketing channels that can resonate well with your customers.[36:36] On Pivotin

The first was the calculus behind Richard Koch’s 80/20 Principle. The other was how he could use his teleseminar business to help his wife’s humanitarian missions in Mozambique. While preoccupied with these thoughts, he had a chance encounter with a woman named Vivian at a music show at their church. In that encounter, Vivian said the Lord told her to encourage Perry to keep on working on his formula. Vivian also told Perry that God will bless his business so that he can support God’s missions. He took it as a sign to work on his 80/20 formula.Listen to the full episode to learn how Perry’s 80/20 formula brought him immense success!“I found that if I can teach somebody enough grounding in 80/20, they can walk into any business anywhere and start fixing stuff.” - Click Here to Tweet This[17:15] The Source of Creative IdeasThe Greeks believe inspiration comes from the outside. Perry agrees.Perry believes the world is a lot more sophisticated than just a bunch of billiard balls banging around in the universe. However, you can still scientifically verify the things you cannot explain.Experience trumps theory.“There’s a scripture that says, ‘If any man lacks wisdom, ask.’ And what I believe is that if you’re humble and you ask for help, you get help. If you ask for wisdom, you get wisdom.” - Click Here to Tweet This [23:42] How to be Proactive in Life Life offers us different channels of communication, and we can only focus on so many things. However, we need to ask ourselves: “What am I not paying attention to that I need to pay attention to?” and “Where is there more where this came from?”People are afraid of going down the rabbit hole, for they might get too extreme or obsessive.Entrepreneurs are always obsessed with something. They just need to pick the right thing to obsess about and do it healthily. [30:23] On Prophetic PeopleJust because someone is prophetic doesn’t mean that person is God.People have different gifts. We are all excellent at some things and lacking in others. “A person with an experience is never at the mercy of a person who has a theory or lacks a theory.” - Click Here to Tweet This [34:20] The Importance of a Faith Community Any faith community is interdisciplinary. In any church, you will find people engaged in different crafts and with different strengths. It is a place where you can be together and do something together despite having different backgrounds and coming from different places.A faith community is an equalizer.“ [39:00] The 95/5 Decade  In 80/20 language, the 2020s is a 95/5 decade. It means 5% of the companies get 95% of the business, and 95% of the other companies get 5% of the business. She went to UNC-Chapel Hill and graduated with the highest honors. Later, she went to law school in Columbia. She had previously worked with Wall Street and eventually started going in between jobs. She then established her own real estate company. When she met a group of real estate developers, she considered getting them as clients right away because that would mean more financial stability for her family. She believed that people who are of faith are good. Hence, she trusted these real estate developers immediately without doing her due diligence. In March 2009, she decided to stop doing transactional work and merged her practice with her father’s. [20:07] Taking Ownership of Her ActionsIn May 2011, the FBI went to her house. She was in denial and believed that she had not done anything wrong. Two years later, they gave her a grand jury subpoena.Rashmi's indictment included one count of conspiracy to commit fraud and 23 counts of bank fraud. She was afraid of losing everything she had worked for, so she wrote several documents and emails supporting her plea. However, her trial attorney made her realize she had an obligation to disclose her developer's activities, especially since she was a lawyer. She took off her fighting hat and took ownership and accountability for what happened.[35:34] Dealing with ShameRashmi informed anyone who knew her at her core, from her immediate family and close friends to her mentors, colleagues, cycling community, and her children’s teachers. The ordeal made her realize that being authentic, owning your mistakes, and holding yourself accountable give people reason to believe in you.She felt the love and support of her family and friends from their letters.“I believe in life, we have, in every moment, three options: you can accept what you're going through, you can enjoy what you're going through, or you can be enthusiastic (about) what you're going through. He is also a business coach and a TEDx speaker. Allen used to be a medical doctor in the field of cosmetic surgery. He feels very blessed living in a peaceful place with incredible scenery. Being a former doctor, Allen sees COVID-19 as a potent virus due to its unpredictability and the uncertainties it brings in our lives. For him, testing everybody is the best idea; otherwise, we will be forced to live in isolation for a long time. “As things shifted, I shifted too.” - Click Here to Tweet This[11:59] On Working with Dan Kennedy Dan Kennedy is a known millionaire-maker. He invites authors to send him their materials for critiquing. In the early 1990s, Canada had a medicine recession that changed its healthcare system. Back then, Allen thought of going to private enterprise. Also, during that period, cosmetic surgery was becoming a trend. Allen was one of the first innovators, users, and experts of Botox, fillers, and liposuction that fight aging. [16:07] On Being a MarketerDoctors are great technicians, but they are poor storytellers. Allen was blessed with a good voice, and it allowed him to amplify his message to the people. There are three parts of marketing: message, market, and media. Media has changed drastically over the years, and Allen had to adapt constantly.   For him, marketing is like catching a fish. If you have 20 fishing rods, you will have several places to send your message and observe what is doing well. [21:11] Investment on MastermindsFor Allen, you can learn things in a hard way or invest in your education to find success. Being on a mastermind is one means of getting an education. There are three ways of getting ahead: use other people's knowledge, time, and money. Even though you invest in education, there are still possibilities of failure. But for Allen, he wants to get his failure quicker than anybody else.It helps him find new ways of doing things, such as developing his unique selling proposition.“I want to get my failure over much quicker than anybody else. If I'm going to fail, I want to fail now. And that's a good thing because after failure comes success.” - Click Here to Tweet This[25:09] Learning from Maxwell MaltzAccording to Maxwell Maltz, for people to experience a change in their lives, they have to change the way they look at the world rather than changing how they look. Most plastic surgeons took a similar path to Maxwell. You can't change people by changing what's on the surface; you have to delve deeper. Allen also has personal experiences that shifted his view in doing more than just cosmetic surgery.  “He (Maxwell Maltz) realized that people had images of themselves and that if you didn't affect the way they looked at the world and looked at themselves, you wouldn't be able to change the way that they are.” - Click Here to Tweet This[27:13] On Cosmetic Surgery Cosmetic surgery can change people's lives. They are opportunities for growth.“The actual reality that truly successful people experience is one of deep valleys and bitter disappointment and discouragement.” - Click Here to Tweet This[29:00] Reconciling Business with FaithIn the big picture, TJ believes that success will be in eternity – to be recognized by God for loving God and loving others as yourself.TJ recognizes that while his success is ultimately his responsibility, he does not discredit the role of the Lord’s will.He would not trade business for his soul, and if TJ were forced to choose, he would seek the direction of his faith. While running his business, TJ seeks to be a great leader and model servant, living his Christian ideals in the service of his clients, employees, candidates, and vendors.“I don't want to be the man who trades his soul for the world. And my business is not as important as my soul. And if it comes to that, then I know which direction I'm

Do Your Willpower & Personality Determine Your Future Self with Benjamin Hardy

Many of us believe we have a fixed personality and it affects all our actions and choices throughout our lifetime. This thinking, though true to an extent at present, limits our ability to define our future. In this episode, organizational psychologist Benjamin Hardy talks about his books Willpower Doesn’t Work and Personality Is Not Permanent. He poses a challenge to the prevalent view that we are defined by our past and personality types. He introduces us to the concept of the “future self” and how it can guide us to grow and become better individuals.Tune in to this episode to know more about creating a better and more beautiful future!3 Reasons to Listen:Discover why your personality is not permanent and is, instead, significantly shaped by your choices. How to address your traumas and use them to realize the future you envision? How can you use this pandemic to change yourself for the better?ResourcesWillpower Doesn’t Work by Benjamin HardyPersonality Isn't Permanent by Benjamin HardyToo Soon Old, Too Late Smart by Gordon LivingstoneThe Psychology of Your Future Self, a TED talk by Dan GilbertThe Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der KolkEpisode DetailsAbout BenjaminDr. Benjamin Hardy is an organizational psychologist and the author of Willpower Doesn’t Work. His upcoming book, Personality Isn’t Permanent, challenges the view that personality is fixed and innate and provides science-based strategies for becoming the person you want to be.To know more about Dr. Benjamin and his work, you can visit his website. You may also reach him through LinkedIn or his Facebook page.Episode Highlights[03:07] Benjamin’s FamilyHe and his wife got married in 2012 and moved to South Carolina. His wife grew up with foster kids in her home, and he supported her desire to do the same.It took them three months to go through the process of training and getting ready for it.They ended up having three kids from the foster care system who are siblings. [10:43] Willpower Doesn’t WorkIn the town where his foster kids grew up, no matter how hard they worked, their potential is radically limited by their circumstances. When you give these kids support and opportunities, their lives will change.Exposing yourself to new ideas is powerful. The book challenges the concept that “you do everything yourself.” It explains that context and situations matter a lot more.It views people vis-à-vis their environment rather than thinking of them as an individual and isolated being.“From my perspective, your ability to make choices and have agency is limited by your context, by what's available to you. If you don't have options, you can't make choices.” - Click Here to Tweet This[16:29] The New NormalWhen you change any part of a system, the whole system changes.Since the world is fundamentally different, it would be impossible for certain things to go back. The system will not go back to what it was before.Proactive and forward-thinking people will adapt; others will be traumatized and left to pick up the pieces for a long time.[18:26] Facing the New NormalTransitional periods are the times when you can get out of your rhythms. If you make various changes now, it won't be that extreme to your environment because everyone is undergoing change. This is the perfect opportunity to make the desired changes and start anew.Think of your future self. Who do you want to be?Start making decisions based on who you want to be versus who you have been. [20:53] Making the Most of an OpportunityIf you do not have a future self you are striving to be, it will be tough to be intentional. It will follow that it doesn’t matter who you are today. You may get stuck with the situation, be reactive, and follow the herd mentality.Things that matter matter now more than ever.Listen to the full episode for Benjamin’s tips on living intentionally during this pandemic.[30:18]  Personality Is Not PermanentWhen you empathize with other people, you understand them better. And when you understand them, you don’t box them into fixed categories.Through his book, Benjamin wants people to be compassionate and understanding toward their former self. The people who might have hurt you or led you down the wrong path deserve as much compassion and empathy. If you can do these things, it frees you from your past and opens up your future.“If you're committed to a future, you don't invest so much in episodes along the way. And in fact, you then choose to frame those so they can support you continuing towards your future.” - Click Here to Tweet This [33:50] The Victim MindsetThings are happening either for you or to you.Victims are people who do not understand emotional regulation and reframing.Victims are committed to the past instead of the future. This limits their potential for growth. If you're committed to a future version of yourself, then you fixate on the incidences in your life as they occur. Instead, you reframe them to support you.[35:49] On Personality Tests & Ide

With its emphasis on immaterial spirituality, faith might seem incompatible with worldly concepts like marketing. Like, I feel like you should work smarter, not harder all the time.” - Click Here to Tweet This[11:13] Marketing 101Marketing starts with the first phase of brand awareness, where potential customers discover your business. The second phase is consideration, where the business tries to convince people to work with them. The last phase, conversion, results in people becoming customers. [13:27] StoryBrandStoryBrand is a proprietary seven-part framework that puts businesses in the role of guides, instead of heroes. With this approach, businesses guide their customers to work out their desires and to figure out the obstacles that keep them from what they want.“Okay, well, this adversity can either crush me, and I can end up where my dad is at right now. Or I'm gonna decide to, you know, I'm gonna lean into the opposite of that, I'm gonna lean into this new faith that I've kind of discovered.” - Click Here to Tweet This[24:11] Family and Growing UpEvan's father and grandfather both work in the jewelry business. We can integrate them to achieve our goals.“I can control some things, but I can't control everything. And I look at that, and I go, you know what, I'm gonna do the very best I can with the things that are in my control. And there is no sense of worrying about the things that are outside my control.” - Click Here to Tweet This[46:25] Achieving Growth With MarketingStart with assessing your current situation when it comes to brand awareness.Reflect on how you influence your customers to make their lives better. Be a guide that educates, not a hero that solves others' problems for them. Finally, assess your conversion funnels. Make it easy for people to commit to calls-to-action. [53:19] CaffeineLabsWith CaffeineLabs, Evan works with companies to help grow their businesses in ways beyond marketing.Business mastery enables entrepreneurs to find innovative ways to keep on growing.[59:44] What's Next?Evan is currently working on developing a micro private equity group.

Q&A with Tim Winders | SGC Extra

Many people dream of becoming successful, and one’s definition of success might be different from others. By strengthening your relationship with God, you can discover how to live a better life.Today’s episode is a little different as Seek Go Create’s host Tim Winders is interviewed by Ryan Haley of A Better Way Podcast. Tim talks about the struggles he faced in business and how self-awareness, faith, and improving his relationship with the Lord helped him rise above the struggles. At the end of this episode, you will discover the importance of investing in rest and quiet time for success.Tune in to the episode to find inspiration as we all go through this incredibly trying time.3 Reasons to Listen:Learn how to uncover self-awareness by finding a mentor and investing in quiet time.Discover Tim’s rise to success, pitfalls, and his climb back up the success ladder.Tim shares advice on acknowledging God's provisions, discovering manna, and turning them into miracles.ResourcesA Better Way Podcast by Ryan HaleyEpisode Highlights[08:07] Defining SuccessWe should be cautious when defining success. For some, success is how much money they make.Tim considers his hands, mind, hard work, and speaking skills as keys to success. He also gives credit to his spiritual growth and looks back on their involvement in the prosperity gospel.[14:07] Challenge of Bearing SuccessSeveral people assume that where they are in life is in God's perfect will. We have to be wary of external factors like money. One of the challenges Tim faced is there would never have been a time that he'd reach a level wherein he can relax. There's always a level above it.It’s part of the deceitfulness of riches, which the Bible talks about. It can be especially challenging for people who are wired for growth, fixing things, growing businesses, and reaching out for their goals.[18:15] MentorsTo check ourselves, we need the support of real friends who will call us out when we’re working too much or going too far.We need relationships with real friends who are reliable and genuinely care for us to tell us the truth.Mentors: People who are willing to teach you or disciple you with the truth. They should also have a background of the situation or circumstances we face.Having personal time to listen to the Holy Spirit may also help us in this challenging journey.[21:26] Facing the FallIn life, it is either humble yourself or be humbled.Tim had several business ventures in real estate, marketing, and coaching. They've also been living a lavish lifestyle. Like many people, he was not prepared for what the Great Recession caused. They lost their real estate business, their businesses found foreclosure, and they got evicted from their home.Listen to the full episode to hear Tim’s story.“You can either humble yourself in life, or if you don't, life has a way of doing it for you.” - Click Here to Tweet This[27:24] Dealing with the StrugglesYou need the willingness to become humble and to change your perspective.Struggles are a critical part of the journey, along with God's will. These struggles are like our spiritual paddles, guiding us.[28:31] Prayers and Prophetic WordsAfter their constant struggle, Tim and his family led a minimalist lifestyle. Looking back, the Lord never left them, and even gave them financial "provisions," as Tim called them.He and his wife look back on their prayers and prophetic words spoken over them, which included money matters. They had deadlines, but they found themselves afloat and well even as the deadline passed.[31:29] The Burden of DebtIt is best not to get tangled in debt. Do not try to outsmart the system, as it will find ways to get you.Having debt feels like another person has ownership and control over you.Debt feels like a burden lingering over your shoulder. It feels so much of a burden that it changes the way you think even after you've paid.[36:18] A Relaxed StateDespite having people to pay, Tim believes they are at a place of rest. They are living in an RV and traveling to where they believe God wanted them.People on their journey need to ask the Lord, “What is a better way to live?”“We're physically being and going where the Lord is leading us to because we don't even have a physical location currently, right? I live in an RV, which is part of our story and all that. So we really are at a place of peace and rest.” - Click Here to Tweet This[37:44] Investing in Real EstateWhen investing in real estate deals, appreciation and historical income are uncertain. The one constant thing is the monthly payment and dues.It was the best decision at that time, but business people must be wary of what they invest in as markets change.[38:52] Investing in Relationships and RestAside from debt, another problem to tackle are things that hinder your relationship with God.You need to take care of your relationships, including those with your business partners. We often think we are supposed to do something, but we must consider if this will h

COVID-19 WTF? (Where’s The Faith?) | SGC Extra with Tim Winders

bonus

COVID-19 is taking the whole world by storm. Everyone is affected. Plans are getting canceled, establishments are shutting down, and everyone's trying to survive by staying at home. The pandemic has impacted our lives significantly—and the scary fact is we don't know when this will end. How can we find our faith amid this global situation? In today's episode, Seek Go Create Podcast host Tim Winders highlights the biggest questions on how COVID-19 may impact us—individually and as a society. He discusses the challenges the virus has brought us. He also talks about the opportunities it can bring and how we can utilize it. If you’ve been feeling down during this trying time, make sure to tune in to the show and learn how you can rediscover your faith.3 Reasons to Listen:Where are we now, and how did we get to this place of a global pandemic?Discover how we can make sense of where we are.Learn what’s next for all of us after COVID-19.ResourcesQ&A With Tim Winders – SGC ExtraEpisode HighlightsWhere Are We Right Now?The coronavirus is shutting down much of the world. A visualization of this is the US economic downturn in 2008, which Tim talks about in detail in the podcast. Two COVID-19 schools of thought: (a) people who insist it's a conspiracy theory; (b) people who are operating in a lot of fear and panic. The reality: Some people are sick and dying, and some are going to be impacted financially by the situation. Tim believes that everything is going to be okay, but we also have to acknowledge all of those realities. How Did We Get Here? The first case of this coronavirus was detected in Wuhan, China, in late December of 2019 and has since spread rapidly. We thought it was a concern of another country, and it wasn't going to impact us much—we were wrong. The government has set travel restrictions, canceled events, and establishments have shut down. Tim talks more about this ripple effect in the podcast. We all learned the term “social distancing.”“We're seeing how truly shaky a house that's built on sand can be.” - Click Here to Tweet ThisHow Do We Make Sense of Where We Are?God is sovereign, but God didn’t bring any of this on to us. We’re just in a world where a lot of stuff happens—a fallen world.Everything will eventually be okay. However, we need to operate with wisdom. We need to learn from experiences or mistakes we’ve made. Likewise, we need to help each other as much as we can.COVID-19 and the EconomyWhere we are now doesn't remind him of the major financial turmoil in the past. People in the United States are people of great faith in general. However, we’re still facing something we’ve never seen before. Money is not accelerating and moving through the system.Unless we get tested and people get taken care of, only then can we know for sure what’s going to happen. The Call to ActionWe are indeed going to be negatively impacted by this—individually and culturally. The big call to action would be a renewal of faith. Strengthen your faith. The government, organizations, and businesses are essential. But put your faith in the Heavenly Father that created us.“We have that much resolve, that much resiliency. I think we're a people of great faith in general.” - Click Here to Tweet ThisWhat’s Next for Culture and Society? Some people might consider it negative, but it can be positive. How? In a way, we’ll put less emphasis on sports, celebrities, and universities—which put people in incredible debt.We can make some shifts in our society, even in religion and church. The way we do churches in first-world countries is different from the scriptural foundation of the way the church was designed. The mobile workforce is powerful. We can hope that it'll be a byproduct of what we see with culture and society. The BottomlineIt's time to reassess and evaluate what's really important to us.What relationships are meaningful? What's essential for us from a spiritual standpoint, how we live, function, and operate?Right now, there is an excellent opportunity to connect digitally. But after this, we may also have a greater appreciation for social interaction.Maybe it’ll help us live a simpler life.We need new types of leaders to emerge; we need a change in our political arena.“I am very hopeful that a new type of leader will step up and emerge from this. And, really, what I hope is that we develop a new normal, that we focus on what's important.” - Click Here to Tweet ThisFocus on Yourself If you need help, ask for it. Try not to get overwhelmed or discouraged. It's vital to nourish your soul. Watch what you're reading, what you're watching, and the other media you consume.Get things done—be productive.Focus on OthersReach out to people—communicate, and check-in with them. Use social media for good. Use it to connect with people or to put some good out there in the world.Don’t let the negative things in the social media rabbit hole consume you.“Have faith that everything’s going to be fine. Have faith that all is

Aside from being a business coach, he is a nationally recognized speaker and expert in leadership communication. If you want to reach out to him, the best way is through his organization’s website. Alternatively, you can contact him through his Facebook or Twitter.Episode HighlightsThe School Nutrition IndustryThere are about 100,000 public schools across the United States.Lunch ladies are heroes as they provide nutrition for children. Some regulations have pushed change toward more processed food instead of nutritionally sufficient home-cooked meals.A hungry child cannot function. Sadly, nutrition is not viewed as an essential part of the education program. The average child in the public school education system only has 11.5 minutes to eat.Present Health IssuesAllergens are on the rise in our society.Vaccination isn't bad, but we live in a hyper-vaccination culture. We now live in an age where we’re terrified of getting sick.Bart’s Personal StartAs a general manager, his company started buying other companies. One business that was only a fraction of their profit became extremely profitable.Bart went to Arizona to start a distributorship. His best friend, who was going to be his business partner, died on one of their trips. It was difficult for him to move forward, but God answered his prayers.Tune in to the full episode to listen to Bart’s story about God’s plan for him!Experiences in BusinessSouthwest Training Systems is his core business, and they provide materials for public school cafeteria environments. It took an estimated 3–5 years to build the company. As if it was God’s plan, business suddenly boomed at the end of their fourth year of operation. All of his speaking and writing experience evolved from his experience in the school nutrition niche. There is power in writing something on paper, which is why he keeps a daily journal.Challenges in BusinessThe obvious challenge in starting any business is money. You have to be creative in how you acquire and spend money.Budgeting is also essential. He feels he performs better under pressure instead of a calm environment. Unfortunately, this resulted in self-sabotage.“I have taken bad situations and made them exponentially worse, just by saying a couple of things. But if I took a deep breath and thought about what I was going to say, it would have turned out a lot better.” - Click Here to Tweet ThisBart’s Daily RoutineHe prayed a lot and woke up early every day to read the Bible or something inspirational.Meditation helped him gain peace and overcome the challenges in his life.Reduce the noise in your mind.God does not compete with the noise of the world. You can only listen to His voice when you are quiet.Insights on Zig Ziglar’s Attitude“Look at other people as if they're important, and honor what they say.” - Click Here to Tweet ThisZig Ziglar is a huge factor and inspiration in his life. When you listen to someone, think about how important they are to you and how much you honor them.We focus too much on what we’re going to say next instead of listening intently. There is a difference between listening to hear and listening to apply. There are more good people in the world than bad.Look at everyone you come in contact with, no matter who they are. as if they have a sign around their neck that says, “Treat me as if I'm important.” “There are vastly more good people in the world than there are bad. And those people who spend their lives focused on watching the news, reading the paper—absorbing all the bad stuff that's going on in the world—their natural reaction is to think the worst of everyone.” - Click Here to Tweet ThisThe Step
