“These stories are an invitation to the religious leaders to repent. A challenge to change our thinking and believe something new about what people are worth. “Because Mary knows who God is, and has placed her hope in the story… she’s able to respond.” For the first week of Advent, we are focusing on prophetic hope that advent brings. “Hospitality is at the center of what it means to be God’s people.” In the first episode of our series, Philo-Xenia (the greek word for hospitality), Robert compares our practices of hospitality to the behavior of people in the Ancient Near East, looking at Abraham in Genesis. “Proclamation is an invitation. We respect the freedom of the hearers, and its’ never done in a. Manipulative way. “God’s church doesn’t have a mission. God’s mission has a church.” We’re taking a break from our Core Values series this week, as we held our gathering in the park with all of The Syndicate, a movement of micro-churches that we belong to, committed to engaging every neighborhood with the gospel and sending every believer as a missionary.
