What would happen if you rewrote that storyline? In this episode, we sit down with Amanda Johnson, a strategist and storyteller, to explore how powerful narratives can be when defining who we are and who we become. Ep 66: What Happens When God Runs Your Business with Rick Johnson
Having started business right after 9/11 the first years was a fight with failure. God helped Rick succeed and then he “put God on the shelf.” That didn’t go to well. After putting in 14–16-hour days 7 days a week, multiple personal crises, and facing physical and emotional deterioration, Rick gave his business over to God, 100%. With a humble attitude he admitted he did not know what giving his business to God looked like, so he just prayed, "show me what to do,” and God did.11 years later Rick is living his best life as God has blessed him with a positive God-centered business culture that impacts whomever they contact. Employees come in broken and leave healed and transformed. Customers, vendors, auditors, whomever comes in the door is met with an opportunity to see God at work. God has also blessed RC Fasteners with record sales years even after 22 years in business. In this episode we are exhorted to:Don’t work with God and then “put Him on the shelf” when things go well. You need to go all in with God to, not halfway. The two first steps to changing your company into a God centered companySurrender your company to the LordSeek God’s face – Get to know His character and waysChallenge: What is your focus? Are you focused on the fruit or the root? Are you focused on profit or investing into your people? Rick was directed to focus on building up his people and profits and record-breaking years came as a by-product. Seek first God’s Kingdom—Matthew 6:33.Seek to take things at a sacred pace. Ep 55: Transform Your Lead Generation Skills with Jason Webb
In this episode, I chat with Jason Webb, owner of The Profitable Salesman, about his journey as a serial entrepreneur focused on sales and lead generation. Jason shares insights from his earlier careers and highlights how a relationship with God has shifted his approach to business. We discuss strategies for identifying ideal clients, overcoming common lead generation challenges, and the importance of perseverance. While we may only win 1 time out of 10, every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow, so there is only progress when we keep moving forward with business. It is not a matter of if you will succeed, it’s when. If you keep moving forward and learning, you will win in the end.In this episode we discussKnowing your ideal client inside and out is a key step for effective lead generation. You must know them intimately. What they do, where they hang out, how they think, what are their challenges, what do they need right now?90% of the time your ideal client is a former version of yourself.Key question to ask about your offer: Would you buy and use your product or service?Find someone who is where you want to be and learn from them. Sometimes it is learning all the mistakes not to make that is most helpful.Every setback is a learning opportunity.Greatest mistake is not putting in the work once you know who your ideal client is. As an Entrepreneur you will fail 9 times out of 10. You have to pick yourself back up for that 1 time out of 10 where you will succeed.Follow Jason Webbhttps://theprofitablesalesman.com/Facebook group: The Profitable Christian Business Owner Communitywww.myleadco.comAbundant TV - Abundant TVFollow David SchmidtSubscribe to Redeeming Business Today Podcast NewsletterWebsite redeemingbusinesstoday.comFollow The Leadership Journey of Moses. Ep 33: Branding: Be the You God Made with Trae Bohlen
Trae Boland, the owner of Photography by Trae, shares her journey from knitting to photography to branding and marketing, emphasizing the importance of personal branding and helping others discover their unique selves to serve effectively. She distinguishes between branding and marketing, focusing on authenticity and what your business stands for. Trae advises starting with understanding one's skills, experiences, and pivotal moments before branding to avoid common mistakes. She discusses integrating faith into her business approach, sharing how relying on God has guided her decisions and sustained her through challenges. In this episode we discuss:Branding is who you are and what you do. Marketing is what you do with it.First step in branding is to ask what skills, experiences, or events have shaped your life. Because branding is all about how God has designed you special.Starting with your target market and changing yourself to align with that market will often backfire as people will see through your facade. You may also end up working with people who do not bring joy to your life. This is why branding must come before marketing. When looking for your ideal client there are two groups of people that you will attract. Those like you and those opposite you. Likes will attract likes and opposites will attract. Either will be a good fit as your ideal client. The real branding question is who are you?Follow Trae BohlenOn Linked Inwww.photographybyTrae.comwww.stepupreferrals.comPodcast: Trae Bohlen - YouTubeFollow David SchmidtSubscribe to Redeeming Business Today Podcast NewsletterWebsite redeemingbusinesstoday.comFollow The Leadership Journey of Moses.
