Message | Demons Know Who Jesus Is—Do You? (Luke 4:31-37) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Jason Price)

In Luke 4, Jesus establishes His ministry in Capernaum—and immediately demonstrates His authority in a dramatic encounter with a demon-possessed man. While many people still questioned who Jesus was, the demons recognized Him instantly as the Holy One of God. This passage reveals a powerful truth: no matter how real spiritual warfare may be, the authority of Jesus Christ is greater than every force of darkness.

Message | Familiarity Without Faith (Luke 4:22-30) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Jason Price)

When Jesus returned to His hometown of Nazareth, the people who knew Him best were amazed by His words—but quickly turned furious when they understood His message. In this powerful moment from Luke 4, Jesus reveals a hard truth: being familiar with Him is not the same as truly knowing Him. This message challenges us to move beyond admiration and knowledge about Jesus and into real surrender and relationship with Him.

Message | Jesus Didn’t Come to Blend In (Luke 4:14-21) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Josh Garrett)

When Jesus reads from Isaiah in His hometown, He draws a clear line between the kingdoms of this world and the kingdom of God. His mission confronts hopelessness, shatters captivity, and announces real freedom—starting now. This is not a future promise or religious theory; it is the arrival of the King.

Message | The Desert Showdown (Luke 4:1-13) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Jason Price)

Temptation comes for everyone—even Jesus—and Luke 4 reveals what’s really at stake when the pressure is on. Facing hunger, power, and the lure of shortcuts, Jesus succeeds where Adam failed by trusting the Father’s plan and standing firm on God’s Word. Choosing obedience over ease shows us what it truly means to live like Jesus in the face of temptation.

Message | More Than a Family Tree: The Genealogy of Jesus (Luke 3:23-38) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Jason Price)

After Jesus’ baptism launches His public ministry, Luke unexpectedly pauses the story to trace a genealogy that reveals far more than names—it reveals identity. By connecting Jesus to David, Abraham, Adam, and ultimately God Himself, Luke shows that Jesus is not only Israel’s promised King but the Savior for all humanity. This message uncovers how Jesus doesn’t just come from these figures—He fulfills them as the greater King, the true Son, and the hope of the world.

Message | Repentance, Baptism, and the Beloved Son (Luke 3:15-22) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Josh Garrett)

God breaks centuries of silence with a call to repentance, preparing hearts to receive the One who can truly save. John clears the way, but Jesus brings transformation—dealing with sin, offering new life, and revealing the heart of a Father who delights in His Son before a single miracle is performed. This message calls us to respond with repentance, baptism, and a life rooted not in striving for approval, but in living as the beloved.

Well Hey and Welcome to the Becoming Better Podcast.

Jan 27, 2026

Message | True Repentance Produces Fruit (Luke 3:7-14) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Jason Price)

John the Baptist delivers a blunt warning: God’s wrath is real, and preparation begins with repentance. Repentance is more than feeling bad or saying sorry—it is a changed life that produces visible fruit. Luke 3 confronts the dangerous idea that heritage, church familiarity, or good intentions can replace true repentance before God.

Message | A Voice in the Wilderness (Luke 3:1-6) | Gospel of Luke (Jason Price)

Luke places the ministry of Jesus firmly in real history, then shows us something surprising—when God speaks, He bypasses the powerful and sends His word to a prophet in the wilderness. John the Baptist calls people to repentance and baptism, not as an end, but as preparation for the coming of Jesus. This message challenges us to consider whether our obedience today is shaping our ability to recognize and receive what God wants to do next.a

Message | Before the Teaching Came the Training: Faith Was Taught at Home—even for Jesus (Luke 2:41-52)

At age twelve, Jesus is found in the temple—listening, asking questions, and declaring His devotion to His Father’s purposes. This moment reveals that Jesus’ faith and mission didn’t suddenly appear at thirty, but were formed through consistent practice, faithful parents, and life-shaping community. Luke invites us to examine whether our faith is built on convenience or consistency—and how we are passing that faith on to the next generation.

Message | They Recognized Jesus Before Anyone Else Did (Luke 2:21-40) | GOSPEL OF LUKE (Corey Huard)

In Luke 2, Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the temple, where two faithful servants—Simeon and Anna—recognize what the world cannot yet see: this child is God’s salvation for all nations. Their response reveals a deep truth—Jesus does not need to prove Himself to be worthy of worship; His presence alone is enough. This passage challenges us to examine whether we truly see Jesus as sufficient and whether our devotion naturally leads us to thank God and share Him with others.

Message | "His Name IS John:" Obedience Prepares the Way for Christmas | Luke 1:57-80 (Jason Price)

In Luke 1:57–79, we witness the miraculous birth of John the Baptist and the powerful moment when Zechariah’s obedience unlocks praise and prophecy. Choosing faithfulness over cultural pressure prepares the way for God’s promises to unfold. As Christmas approaches, we’re reminded that John points the way—but Jesus is the redemption we are celebrating.

Message | Favored-Not Fearless: Mary’s Faith and the Promises of God

What does it really mean to be favored by God when obedience could cost you everything? In Luke 1, we see how God chooses the unlikely, fulfills the impossible, and invites us to trust His promises even when the future feels uncertain. Like Mary, we are called to believe—not just that God can fulfill His word, but to live as if He already has.

Message | When God Breaks the Silence (Luke 1:5-25)

In today’s message, I walk us through Luke 1 to show how God begins fulfilling His long-awaited promises through the miraculous birth of John the Baptist, even after 400 years of silence. We look at Zechariah and Elizabeth’s story to see that God is always working, that righteousness is revealed through obedience, and that our prayers are never wasted. And finally, I remind us that the same Spirit who fills John from the womb now fills us, empowering us to live out the calling God has placed on our lives.

Message | Jesus' Letter to the Church of Ephesus (Revelation 2:1-7)

The Biblical account of the church of Ephesus ends with a letter Jesus wrote to this church in Revelation chapter 2. However, in their eagerness to dispel false teachers, it seems they forgot the greatest command of all, to love God and love people.

Message | Trademark of Terrible Times (2 Timothy 3:1-9)

In this teaching, we dive into Paul's sobering warning to Timothy about the rise of false teachers and the dangerous attitudes that will characterize people in the "last days." According to Paul, this era spans from Christ’s ascension to His eventual return—and we are living in it now.Paul doesn’t hold back. He gives a list of 19 specific actions and attitudes that will become more and more prevalent. These traits weren’t just for some distant future—they were already threatening the church in Ephesus, and they still plague our world today. One of the most chilling indictments Paul gives is that these people will have a “form of godliness but deny its power.”They may sound spiritual. Look spiritual. Study deeply. But they are not transformed. They are void of the Spirit of God, and their faith is ultimately rejected—not because they rejected faith, but because true Faith rejected them.
