This week the tables have turned for Passin Dimes 2nd Anniversary! Friend of the show Eric Simon (Episode 133) steps up and offers to host an episode to interview co-creator and host of Passin Dimes, Josh Nichol. Josh started his coaching career over 18 years ago when he started coaching while in high school. Since then Josh has coached club for DRVC, Interclub, Leaside and Titans, school volleyball with Upper Canada College and Bishop Strachan School. Josh was lucky enough to restart the George Brown Men's program in 2010 where the team would go on to make the playoffs 3/5 years, have an Academic All Canadian and win East Coach of the Year. The one and only Sebastian Lethbridge joins the show! Seb has accomplished a lot in our sport! He's a provincial champion and national medalist at the club level, a Beach Nationals Silver Medalist, 3x OCAA Champion, CCAA National Champion and 3x Medalist, has represented Canada the Youth level and FISU games. Jason Trepanier is the Executive Director of Volleyball Nova Scotia’s. Before joining VNS Jason was the Technical Director for the Ontario Volleyball Association. Canadian Star Setter Dustin Schneider joins the show to tell us about his career. Dustin played for the University of Winnipeg Wesmen in where he won the CIS championship in 2007 and was named Championship MVP. Dustin would go on to join our National Team in 2007 where he would help Canada earn medals at the Norceca Championships in 2011, 2013 and 15, lead Canada to World League Finals and a bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. Paul Podstawka joins the show! Paul is a former member of Team Canada's Beach National Team. One of the best personalities in our sport, Steve Delaney joins the show! Steve grew up playing for West Side Volleyball Club before joining the Toronto Ruffriders at a young age. Steve would leave Ontario to attend the University of Winnipeg before playing pro in Finland and France. After playing pro indoors Steve would play pro beach on the FIVB, AVP, and Labatt Tours. Steve started his coaching career with the Halton Hurricanes where he helped the team win a Provincial and National Championship. He is now the current Head Coach of the Brock University Women's Volleyball Team. The Badgers won an OUA Silver Medal and earned a birth to Nationals before Covid cancelled the season. Canadian Legend Steve Brinkman joined the show to share his experience in our sport. Steve played 17 years for Team Canada, playing in over 300 international matches. Some highlights include a bronze medal at the Pan Am Games, finishing 7th at World Cup, and 11th at World Championships. Before joining the National Team, Steve played at the University of Manitoba where he won a CIS National Championship. Professionally Steve has played in Belgium, China, France, Greece, Italy, Japan and Russia, winning the Chinese, Greek, Italian, World Club Championship and European Cup championship. Dr. Andrew Sulatycki had an early start in our sport. Andrew's parents Frank & Rozika Sulatycki are Hall of Famers in the OVA, OCAA and CCAA. Andrew was a member of Team Ontario, he was a 5 year starter at York University, winning 2x OUA Championships, he played professionally in Slovenia’s premiere division, won the 2012 Canadian National Men’s Open Championship and 2014 OVL Provincial Championship with the Toronto Ruffriders, and is currently a member of the Canadian Masters Volleyball team.
