0129: Make-a-Plan Monday | December 1-7

It looks like we’re going to be learning about temple work and its role in the redemption of the dead. I think it’s so beautiful that Heavenly Father prepared a way for all of those millions/billions of people who’ve never heard of Him or Jesus Christ to still have an opportunity to choose to make covenants with Him. Even if it’s after this life and well into the next one. I love how all of the little things were thought of and covered in the Plan of Redemption. Lots of people have talked about temple work. I’ve made our usual checklist that includes the talks, videos, and book chapters shown in this week’s “Come, Follow Me” lesson plan. You can check it out here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-december-1-7/ Thank you so much for doing this with me! It’s so cool to know that we’re all working through the same things every week! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants #RedemptionOfTheDead #TempleWork #GatheringIsrael

0128: Make-a-Plan Monday | November 24-30

It’s a sad week. We’ll be reading about the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith and then about the beginning of the Saints’ trek west. What a hard time for them. We get to watch a part of President Holland’s talk about his testimony of the Book of Mormon. I remember when he gave that talk – it’s stuck with me ever since. How has your testimony changed this year? Do you feel closer to the people who came before us? Do you have stronger faith in the Book of Mormon and/or Joseph Smith? What’s changed for you as you’ve read, studied, and pondered this year’s “Come, Follow Me” lessons? There’s quite a bit this week. As you can probably imagine, a lot of people have born testimony of Joseph Smith’s call over the years. I’ve created two checklists to pick from. List A averages about 19-20 minutes every day, and list B averages about 28. You can find both of them here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-november-24-30/ Tell me in the comments how you’ve changed this year. I would love to hear about it! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0127: Make-a-Plan Monday | November 17-23

It’s interesting to me that President Oaks became our new Prophet right before we got to these two sections of the Doctrine and Covenants. Section 133 is about preparing ourselves for the Second Coming (which we’ve heard a LOT about lately), but section 134 is about governments and how they’re supposed to serve the people. President Oaks was a justice of the Utah Supreme Court – he knows a bit about governments and how they’re supposed to work. I also find it interesting that he’s our prophet now when it seems like our government is a bit of a mess (it has been for a while – this isn’t a new thing). As we prepare for the second coming, what should our government look like? Is it supposed to be in chaos? Or should things be calm?  It’s not a mistake. Our Heavenly Father has a plan and it’s in motion. And the best part? We get to CHOOSE which part we play in that plan.  There isn’t a lot of stuff to review this week – our average study time is only about 15-16 minutes each day. You can find the complete checklist here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-november-17-23/ I would love to hear from you. What do you think about what these two sections are teaching us? #ScriptureStudy #DoctrineAndCovenants #ComeFollowMe2025 #SecondComing

0120: Make-a-Plan Monday | September 29 - October 5

How do you feel when you leave the temple? Do you feel the angels around you? Do you feel like you’re armed with the power of God? What does that feel like for you? I love going to the temple because when I’m there I feel like I’m home. We are so blessed to have so many around the world. There’s only one checklist this week, and we’re averaging about 20 minutes every day. Lots of good stuff specific to the Kirtland temple, but also quite a bit that’s applicable to us. There are at least 2 talks by President Nelson – the most applicable prophet to us. You can find the list here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-september-29-october-5/ Thanks for joining me! #ScriptureStudy #DoctrineAndCovenants #ComeFollowMe2025

0126: Make-a-Plan Monday | November 11-16

This week could be triggering for some. We’re digging into marriage and families and polygamy. Please remember that we teach the ideal so that when (if) we make it to the celestial kingdom, we won’t be surprised by how it’s organized. We also need to learn about the ideal because that’s what we should be striving for. That doesn’t mean we will all get it, and our Father in Heaven knows that.  I’ve divided it up to an average of about a half-an-hour each day. A few days are longer and at least one of them is shorter. You can find the full checklist here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-november-10-16/ Thank you so much for coming back! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #Polygamy #DoctrineAndCovenants

There’s a lot of “information” about baptisms for the dead out there. Before you believe something you read online, please go to the source. Then, if you don’t quite understand what you’re reading, please ask someone you know who does. If you don’t feel comfortable asking someone you know, you can set up a time to meet with some missionaries who would be happy to answer your questions. You can click on this link to set up an appointment: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/welcome/meet-with-missionaries?lang=eng I’ve created two different plans for us this week: Plan A: Average of about 16 minutes every day.Plan B: Average of about 24 minutes every day. You can find both lists at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-november-3-9/. I would love to hear about what you learn this week. Maybe it was even something you relearned. Let me know! 0124: Make-a-Plan Monday | October 27 – November 2

There’s a lot going on this week and quite a few things to study. Do the best you can, but don’t burn yourself out. There’s so much that I’ve created two different plans.  Plan A will take, on average, about 24 minutes every day. The only section of the Doctrine & Covenants that we’re looking at this week is over 38 minutes by itself.  Plan B will take about an hour and 12 minutes every day. I don’t think we’ve had one that heavy since … Easter? But it’s all good stuff. From the Nauvoo temple, to patriarchal blessings, and beginning the trek west, there’s so much to learn, review, or remember. Don’t let the length of things discourage you. Your Father in Heaven knows what you can do and He only expects you to try. You can find both plans here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-october-27-november-1/  Thanks for showing up! #ScriptureStudy #DoctrineAndCovenants #NauvooTemple #ComeFollowMe2025 #PatriarchalBlessings

When you’re feeling particularly down – left out, forgotten, depressed, stressed, or just wondering when things might get better – what do you do? Where do you go to find comfort or reassurance?  D&C section 122 is a favorite of mine. When I’m feeling out of sorts or stuck (or any of those other things above) I like to go to this section for a reminder that everything is going to work out. All of the hard things we have to go through are for our good. They’ll help make us stronger, more compassionate, more patient, or just smarter. Often there is no other way to get the experience (and knowledge or wisdom) that we’ll get from the really hard things. As you read section 122 this time around, remember Joseph and what he was struggling with and then think about the times when you felt like you were in your own Liberty Jail. We’ve discovered our own Sacred Grove, but what about those Liberty Jails? There are two checklists this week because there is a lot to cover. You can find them both here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-october-20-26/ Keep your experiences sacred, but please make sure you’re sharing them when directed by the Holy Ghost. Your experiences are valuable to you and to others. We can learn so much from the things that we share, and the things that are shared with us. Thank you for being you.  #DoctrineAndCovenants #Overcoming #ComeFollowMe2025 #PersonalGrowth #ScriptureStudy

It looks like we’re going to be learning about tithing quite a bit this week. What has your experience with tithing be? For me… I pay it and I believe I’m being blessed, but I also don’t think that I fully recognize what blessings are specific to paying my tithing. What about you? There are a lot of things to look at this week, but we’re still only averaging about 20 minutes every day. Check out the full list here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-october-13-19/ Thanks for sticking around! 0121: Make-a-Plan Monday | October 6-12

It’s probably safe to say that we’ve all had our faith and courage tested at some time or another – I know I certainly have.  Those who came before us faced those struggles too. They came in different forms and in different ways than ours do, but they came. This week, we get to learn more about a few of those trials in Doctrine & Covenants sections 111-114. We’re averaging about 12 minutes every day, but Wednesday and Saturday. Wednesday is just under 6 minutes and Saturday is at over 17. Feel free to split up that 17-minute chapter in Saints and do some of it on Wednesday if that works better for you. Here’s the checklist for this week: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-october-6-12/ Also – I would love to hear about your favorite General Conference talk! 0119: Make-a-Plan Monday | September 22-28

This week we get to learn more about how the Church was organized in its really early days. There’s more than that though. Check out the first paragraph in the “Come, Follow Me” manual for this week: “But there’s so much more to the divine instruction in section 107 than just how Church leadership should be organized. Here, the Lord teaches us about His power and authority, ‘the Holy Priesthood, after the Order of the Son of God’ (verse 3). The purpose of the priesthood is to unlock ‘all the spiritual blessings of the church’ so that all of God’s children can ‘have the heavens opened unto them’ and ‘enjoy the communion and presence of God the Father, and Jesus the mediator of the new covenant’ (verses 18–19). In teaching us about His priesthood, the Savior is teaching us about Himself and how we can come unto Him.” Isn’t that beautiful? The more I learn about the priesthood and my role in it, the more grateful I am for the Plan of Salvation and the opportunities available to all of us as we progress on the covenant path. Thanks for coming along on this journey with me! Here’s this week’s checklist (there’s only one this week): https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-september-22-28/ #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

It looks like we’re going to be learning more about Zion’s Camp this week. I have a feeling, however, that we’re also going to be learning about how we can help create Zion now.  There’s a LOT to get into this week, and two checklists to choose from. List A averages about 26 minutes every day, and List B averages about 31 minutes. Both are posted here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-september-15-21/ How are you working to help create Zion already? 0117: Make-a-Plan Monday | September 8-14

There’s a lot to look at this week, and it looks like it’s mostly about trials and adversity. It also looks like there are a lot of opportunities to apply how the Saints back then handled their trials, to how we handle our own. If you’re anything like me, that’s intimidating. Their trials seem so much worse than mine will ever be. BUT here’s the thing. We are different people going through different things. Some of the things I struggle with, you would find easy and possibly even laughable. And the same is true for me. Sometimes when I hear that someone is struggling with something that I think is simple or easy, I find myself judging them for not being able to get through it “better.” Shame on me. Heavenly Father gives us different struggles because we are different. We cannot go through this life exactly the same as anyone else – we would lose our uniqueness and some of our agency. That’s not to say that we can’t use our experiences to help others – that’s actually part of the point. We can! We can use our experience and our talents, gifts, and opportunities to help each other. And we should. Anyway – here’s the links to the lists this week. Yep – listS. There are two. The difference between them is that there are 3 chapters from Saints, Volume 1 on list B. List A has us studying for about 20 minutes every day, and list B has us at 29. That’s a 10 minute difference (about) so it was worth creating the two different lists. Have fun! https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-september-8-14/ #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0116: Make-a-Plan Monday | September 1-7

We get to learn more about the Kirtland temple this week, but also more about temples in general. There’s even an opportunity to look at the General Handbook and see what it says about our endowment. I’m excited! We’re looking at about 15 minutes every day this week, which is doable. Here’s the checklist to help keep us on track: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-september-1-7/ I’ve also been studying some other things lately and maybe it’s time I share. 0115: Make-a-Plan Monday | August 25-31

This week we’re looking at section 93 of the Doctrine & Covenants. Based on the section header and the titles of the talks we’ll be looking at this week, we’re going to learn more about how to be more diligent in our homes so we can create “A Home Where the Spirit of the Lord Dwells.” I don’t know about you, but I could use all the help I can get. We can get through all the things this week with only an average of about 12 minutes every day! Two of the days are less than 8 minutes. Here’s the checklist for easy download: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-august-25-31/ What are some things that you’ve done in your homes over the years that have helped make it more peaceful, inviting, calm, and a place where your family wants to be? #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0114: Make-a-Plan Monday | August 18-24

We get to look at four sections of the Doctrine & Covenants this week - the first one being section 89 which contains the Word of Wisdom. I think we tend to remember the "don'ts" of the Word of Wisdom, but many of us fail to remember the "do's". This time, as we go through it, see if you can focus on the things we should do, rather than the things we shouldn't have. Does that make a difference for you? I know that it has for me. This week's checklist has us studying for about 15 minutes every day. You can download it here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-august-18-24/ What are you looking forward to getting into the most this week? I think I'm most excited to listen to Elder Gong's talk on Thursday. Let me know what you're looking forward to! #ScriptureStudy #DoctrineAndCovenants #ComeFollowMe2025

0113: Make-a-Plan Monday | August 11-17

I read through the intro to Doctrine & Covenants 88 and it looks like it has a lot of stuff that's applicable to us. Of course I realize that all of the scriptures are applicable to us, but this section talks about faith, light, obedience, laws, sanctification, and signs of the Second Coming. It also talks about establishing a temple. As a Church, we're establishing temples everywhere! You can download this week's full checklist here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-august-11-17/ I would love to hear about what you learn (or relearn) this week in your studies. 0112: Make-a-Plan Monday | August 4-10

It's great that we had a little time last week to work on our family history because this week it looks like we're going to be learning about keeping a journal. Did you know that keeping a journal “counts” as doing family history? You're recording your own personal history and that's worth a lot to the people who come after us. To be completely transparent; I am a horrible journal keeper. Frankly, I use Instagram and Facebook as my journals. That and some photo backups. You'll get no judgement from me on how well you keep your own journal. There isn't a ton this week ; just enough to keep us busy every day for about 12 minutes. You can find the full checklist here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-august-4-10/ How do you like to keep a journal? 0111: Make-a-Plan Monday | July 28 - August 3

It looks like we're going to be learning more about the priesthood this week. I've learned a lot in the last year or so about how, as a woman, I can use the priesthood. Without getting too deep into it right here, there's a difference between the power of the priesthood and the authority of the priesthood. When we receive our endowment in the temple, part of it is being endowed with priesthood power. In our callings we have authority to act within the parameters of our calling under the authority of the priesthood. I feel like our Church leaders are teaching us more and more about this and I get really excited when I learn new stuff! You can find the full checklist here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-july-28-august-3/ Spoiler; Friday is open for some family history work! I would love to hear about what you learn about the priesthood this time around. I love hearing it! Have a great week! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

Have you ever felt different after being set apart for a calling? And then felt different again when you were released? It's happened to me. That's a very "watered down"; version of what we're going to learn a little about this week. We're already into sections 81-83 of the Doctrine & Covenants. Can you believe it? This has been the most meaningful study of this book that I've had so far. This week's "Come, Follow Me"; lesson has us looking at sections 77-80 of the Doctrine and Covenants. We always do a sneak peek with the kids and it looks like we'll be learning about the business side of the Church this week; at least how it was set up back then. Should be interesting. We'll average out at about 13-14 minutes per day this week if you want to do use the checklist on the website, which you can find here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-july-14-20/. I could be off, but based on the titles of the talks in our study plan this week, we're going to be learning more about the people we can (and should strive to) become. And it also looks like we're all going to get a small lesson in what it means to be a bishop. Maybe we'll all be a little kinder to ours after learning more? Here's this week's checklist: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-june-30-july-6/ Which talk are you the most excited to review? 0106: Make-a-Plan Monday | June 23-29

Did you know that Joseph Smith wasn't perfect? It shouldn't be a shocker, but I think we sometimes tend to put him on a bit of a pedestal and assume that everything he did was done perfectly. The "Come, Follow Me"; manual says that one of the concerns the early Church leaders had regarding the publishing of the revelations Joseph Smith received was the imperfections in the way he wrote them. Section 67 addresses that concern. I'm excited to learn more about that. Here's the link to the checklist for this week: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-june-23-29/ I hope you learn something new (or relearn something you may have forgotten)! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

Just based on the names of the Conference talks included in this week's studies, it looks like we're going to be learning more about forgiveness. Here's the checklist for this week: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-june-16-22/ Have you ever wanted to forgive someone, you just didn't know how? Maybe it was yourself; you wanted to get past something dumb you did but you just couldn't figure out how to let go? It's happened to me, and I wish there was a quick way to just say, "Ok, I'm done"; and have all the feelings of guilt, embarrassment, shame, and ickiness just disappear. Every time I've found myself in that place of wanting to let go and just not knowing how, it has worked itself out; eventually. Lots of prayer, sometimes some fasting, and time. Keep learning, keep growing, and be of good cheer! I know; it's easier said than done. Just do your best. #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

Welcome back everyone! I am so grateful that you keep coming back for more. This week we're getting into sections 51-57 of the Doctrine & Covenants and I'm excited to learn. Based on what little I've read so far, it looks like it's going to be about the law of consecration and how the Saints back then were able to move and find places to live. It could not have been an easy thing to deal with; from either side. Today, the Church has humanitarian and welfare services that are probably beyond the imaginations of those early Saints. Frankly, they're almost beyond my imagination. There are so many people doing so many good things in this world. 0101: Make-a-Plan Monday | May 19-25

By the looks of it, we're going to be learning about marriage and it's eternal role in the plan of salvation this week. That could be a trigger for some and I want to acknowledge that. Please remember that we teach the ideal so that when it's realized in the celestial kingdom we'll know what to expect. It won't be some awkward surprise; it will be something we've always hoped for but didn't necessarily achieve in our mortal life. No matter what your circumstance is, you are love, remembered, cared for, and we need you among us. We need your perspective and your insight. I cannot express in writing or in a video how much I value you and how grateful I am that you're here. Our average amount of time spent this week is about 13 minutes per day, except for Saturday when we've got 21 minutes of Elder Bednar. We've got this! I'll get there again. Instead we have just a plain ol' Make-a-Plan Monday. This week, we're looking at Doctrine & Covenants sections 46-48 and are learning about spiritual gifts. I have so much to learn about them and am excited to get started this week! There are two study plans to choose from. Plan A only averages about 11 minutes per day, and Plan B averages about 14. I don't usually break them up when they're that close together, but for some reason I felt like that needed to be done this week. You can choose which plan to follow and download the linked checklist here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-may-12-18/ I will also post them as images on Facebook and Instagram so you can find them there if that's easier for you. 0098: Make-a-Plan Monday | April 28 - May 4

Are you ready to start a new month already? This year is flying by! We only have one checklist this week and, on average, are spending about 22 minutes a day in our scriptures, listening to conference talks, or watching videos that will help us grow closer to our Savior. You can download the list at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-april-28-may-4/. I truly hope that you are enjoying the Doctrine and Covenants as much as I am this year. I'm so glad I committed to this! Thanks for sticking with me!

0097: Make-a-Plan Monday | Doctrine & Covenants 37-40

How was your Holy Week last week? I did not make it through all of the things; there were a lot of things! I tried and got through a lot of it, but just couldn't do it all. It's ok though; the Lord loves effort! This week we're getting into Doctrine and Covenants sections 37-40. There's only one study plan for the week (link below), and we will only average about 16 minutes per day. That's totally doable. Here's the link to the checklist: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-april-21-27/ It will also be posted on the Paisley Imperfect Facebook and Instagram pages so you can grab it there too if you want to. I hope that you're getting as much out of the Doctrine and Covenants this year as I am. I'm grateful that I made the commitment to stick to it this year. It's helping my testimony of the Restoration grow and strengthen. Thank you for studying with me! #ScriptureStudyPlan #PaisleyImperfect #ComeFollowMe2025

0096: Easter/Holy Week Study Plan

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Jesus Christ's life. As a Church, we've been working to make Easter more prominent in our lives. Yes, the birth of Jesus was important, but without his death and resurrection, we would be stuck in an endlessly fallen state. Because he was resurrected, we can be too. As part of our preparations for Easter, we get to start on our study plan a bit earlier than usual. There is a lot for us to get into this week too, so you'll notice that the checklist is very long. Don't worry - the longest day is Monday and it's just under 46 minutes. Don't be discouraged! Just do what you can. The Lord loves our efforts and will magnify them! I will be posting a daily checklist on Facebook and Instagram, or you can download the pdf at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-holy-week-easter/. We've got this!

0095: Make-a-Plan Monday | April 7-13

I hope everyone enjoyed General Conference this weekend. The theme that stood out to me the most was getting prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. I also thought it was interesting that we were told that a study of the Restoration would help prepare us for the Second Coming. There are two different plans this week, but Plan B is really only about 2 minutes longer each day than Plan A. There's a lot of stuff to look at. You can find both plans at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-april-7-13/. Thanks for sticking around with me! I'm glad we're on this journey together!

0094: Make-a-Plan Monday | March 31 – April 6

Getting right into April with the Plan of Happiness! I know I've mentioned it before, but the Plan of Happiness is my favorite thing to talk about! I'm so excited to learn more about it this week. There's only one study plan for this week, and we're only averaging about 12 minutes a night. That's good news because that means there will still be time to prepare ourselves for General Conference next week. How do you prepare for General Conference? You can find the PDF version of the study plan at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-march-31-april-6/. 0093: Make-a-Plan Monday | March 24-30

We're closing up March with Doctrine & Covenants sections 27 and 28. We get to learn more about the sacrament! There's only one checklist for this week's studies and you can find it at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-march-24-30/. We're averaging about 19.5 minutes each day this week, but Elder Ballard takes us on a 25 minute journey on Saturday. I miss him. Thanks for sticking around with me!

0092: Make-a-Plan Monday | March 17-23

Hi Everyone! We're right in the middle of March and I feel like we're finally into the swing of things for this year. There are two study plans to choose from this week and you can find both of them at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-march-17-23/. I hope you're enjoying the things that you're learning! And, if you didn't get a chance to read or listen to President Oaks' talk titled "The Keys and Authority of the Priesthood" from last week, I highly recommend it. It was SO good! Here's a link for you: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2014/04/the-keys-and-authority-of-the-priesthood?lang=eng. Thanks for hanging out with me! I hope you're finding these study plans useful. #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0091: Make-a-Plan Monday | March 10-16

This week has some really good stuff! Obviously, there are a few sections of the Doctrine and Covenants, but we're also getting into the organization of the Church, talking about prophets, and learning more about the keys and authority of the priesthood. There's only one study plan this week - you can find it at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-march-10-16/. Our average study time per day is less than 19 minutes. But remember - start where you are and just do your best. That will vary from day to day and the Lord knows where you are and what you can do. He only expects that we try. Thanks for hanging out with me! I appreciate you being here and being a part of my journey through the Doctrine and Covenants this year. It's a new one for me. #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0090: Make-a-Plan Monday | March 3-9

Here we are - at our first full week of March! There isn't a ton of stuff to look at this week (like there has been in the past) so we only have one quick checklist (which you can download at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-march-3-9/). Our Savior suffered in Gethsemane for you and for me. And I believe that he would have done it if it had only been for you. Or for me. He loves you that much. Also, I hope that you're enjoying this year's trip through the Doctrine & Covenants. I said at the beginning of the year that this was going to be a tough one for me - and it has been, but I've also started to feel a bit more connected with the history of the Church. I'm learning more than I ever have before (mostly because I'm actually putting in the effort this time). I hope you're finding something for yourself in it too. Thank you for sticking around! I'm so grateful for each of you. #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0089: Make-a-Plan Monday | February 24 – March 2

Can you believe we're already wrapping up February?! I feel like I was just saying that about December. Time is flying by! There's only one section from the Doctrine & Covenants for us to review this week, but a few General Conference talks for us to take a look at too. It's super light compared to last week, for sure. There's only one checklist for this week and each day averages out to a bit under 15 minutes. You can download the checklist here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-february-24-march-2/ In this episode I also shared something that stuck out to me about Oliver and the Whitmer brothers. What stuck out to you? Thanks for sticking around with me! #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0088: Make-a-Plan Monday | February 17-23

I hope you're ready for this week! Last week was light - this week... not so much! There are two study plans to choose from this week and you can find them both here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-february-17-23/ Plan A averages about 15-16 minutes each day, and Plan B is closer to an hour. If you can't do the full hour, don't worry! Do what you can. We're just trying to be a little bit better every day - not trying to make a complete change overnight. Thanks for studying along with me. I hope you're getting as much out of this as I am! #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants #ScriptureStudy

0087: Make-a-Plan Monday | February 10-16

We're getting into sections 10 and 11 of the Doctrine & Covenants this week. A lot of the history of these sections overlaps stuff we've already looked at. Don't worry though; that means that we can review it for stuff we missed the first time around. It also means that there's only one study plan for this week. And it's short. You can download it here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-february-10-16/ Thanks for studying the Doctrine & Covenants with me this year! We're already about halfway through February. It's gonna be a great year! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0086: Make-a-Plan Monday | February 3-9

This week we're looking into sections 6, 7, 8, and 9 of the Doctrine & Covenants. There wasn't as much this week as there has been in the past, and some of the things they've listed are things we've already looked at. So, there's only one study plan this week. You can download it here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-february-3-9/ If you have time, go take a look at the Topics section in the References. I thought that "Diving Rods" and "Seer Stones" were particularly interesting. Thanks for hanging out with me! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0085: Make-a-Plan Monday | January 27 – February 1

I misspoke right at the beginning of the video (arg) and said that we're wrapping up February. Obviously, we're just starting February and are really wrapping up January. Oops! I've put together two plans again this week. Plan A is short and will get you through the sections, a couple of General Conference talks, an a video. Plan B is longer and includes a youth devotional from back in 2018 that's just over an hour by itself (don't worry, we're still only averaging about 27 minutes every day). If you have teenagers, you work with the youth, or you have kids that are turning into youth soon, you'll want to check that out. You can find both plans here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-january-27-february-1/ Thanks for sticking around with me! I hope your study of the Doctrine and Covenants and Church History is going well. I know that mine is better this year than any other time I've studied it. Mostly because of all of you. #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants #DandC #PaisleyImperfect

0084: Make-a-Plan Monday | January 20-26

This year is going to fly by - we're already wrapping up January! Last week was a LOT. I don't know about you, but I did not get through it all. This week has been toned down a bit, and I've created two different plans that you can choose to work from (or create your own). Plan A averages about 9 minutes per day - some days are really short and others are longer. No day goes past 14 minutes, and the shortest day is just over 3 minutes. Plan B is longer but still only averages about 18 minutes every day. Only one day is longer than that (at 23 minutes). You can download either plan (or both) at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-january-20-26/. I hope your study of the D&C and Church History is going well! #ComeFollowMe2025 #ScriptureStudy #MakeAPlanMonday #DoctrineAndCovenants #D&C

0083: Make-a-Plan Monday | January 13-19

It's a big week this week! We're talking about The First Vision and have a few different versions to dig into. Yep - there's more than one version of The First Vision. I remember when I heard that the first time and how it blew my mind, but the more I've thought about it over the years, the more it makes sense. When was the last time you told someone about something that happened to you and told the story exactly the same way you'd told someone else? Word. For. Word. Anyway - as has been our usual for the Doctrine and Covenants this year, I've created two different checklists for us this week. I'm not gonna lie - Plan B is hefty. There is a LOT of information about The First Vision. You can find both lists here: https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-january-13-19/ There is just too much to list it all here. Thank you for taking this journey with me! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants

0082: Make-a-Plan Monday | January 6-12

We're really getting into things this week! "Come, Follow Me" is structured a lot differently for the Doctrine and Covenants this year than it was for the Book of Mormon last year and I'm pretty excited about some of the new stuff that's out there. In all honesty, it might have been structured the same way the last time we did this book and I missed it, but I'm not going to miss it this time! I've created two different checklists for this week. You can download either (or both) of them at https://paisleyimperfect.com/make-a-plan-monday-january-6-12/ Plan A is very simple and really only has related content Monday through Thursday. I've linked back to Family Search: Record My Story for Friday and Saturday. Plan B has more! We're still only averaging about 14 minutes every day (which is totally doable!) and we'll learn a lot more. Pick your plan or create your own. Whatever works for you. If you're just getting started and you're determined to make it through the Doctrine and Covenants this year; GOOD FOR YOU! Plan A is a great way to get started without overwhelming yourself. If you're ready to push yourself a bit, check out Plan B. 14 minutes a day isn't too much of a push and will be totally worth it! Thanks for being here!! #ScriptureStudy #ComeFollowMe2025 #DoctrineAndCovenants
