Today we're looking into President Nelson's talk, "Spiritual Treasures," from the 2019 Women's session of General Conference. It's such a great resource as we get started on our own journeys to find out our personal and individual role within the priesthood. President Nelson emphasizes that the heaves are equally open to women who honor their covenants, offering a path filled with spiritual joy. Our journey, however, may require that we set aside some worldly things that may even seem harmless. He also gave us three sections in the Doctrine and Covenants that we can use to start with as we work to discover our own personal path: Section 25 Section 84 Section 107 Please remember that the Lord recognizes and loves your efforts and He will magnify them. I'll be upfront about this one - this episode is more for me than it is for you. As a content creator, there's a fine line between genuine purpose and validation. I'm a marketer by trade and when it comes to being Paisley, my training sometimes tells me to do things differently than the Spirit does. President Eyring, in this past Sunday's conference, helped "calm my troubled heart" about this, and I'll have to do an episode on that talk another time. Today's Make-a-Plan Monday is focused on the "Come, Follow Me" curriculum for October 7-13, "Behold, My Joy Is Full."; When we bring all of the bits and pieces together listed in the book, we average out to about 15 minutes every day, which is totally doable. As always, though, please adjust the plan so that it works for you. Sparked by Elder Rasband's message "Do Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly with God," I looked a little further into the "love mercy" part. That look lead me right to President Oaks' timeless address. This talk resonated deeply, especially as it shed light on some of my own experience. However, I kept encountering profound quotes about the family, emphasizing its defense. This led me to President Kimball's 1980 talk, "Families Can Be Eternal", which forms the core of our discussion today. Key Points Covered: The diverse nature of modern families and the non-judgmental stance we must adopt. The ideal family structure as taught by the prophets and its significance in the celestial kingdom. President Kimball's thoughts on the eternal unit of the family, societal disintegration without it, and the duty to speak out against its destruction.
