657 | Close Down The Old Chapter With Love
In this episode, I am sharing a mix of my limited knowledge of Astrology, Human Design, and my personal story, so buckle up, it's time for some real backstories. This was inspired by my talk at the High Vibe Women's Summit in KW, being a panel host and panelist at the same time, stretching and trusting myself, and going ALL IN on myself. Something shifted in me during this event and it only happens when you put yourself in the spaces to stretch and grow. In this episode, we discuss: 1) It is the closing of a 15-year chapter in Astrology for 4 cardinal signs, and myself and my husband are in that cycle. This had me go back and look at where I was 15 years ago and it stopped me in my tracks. This example has me thinking of The Gap and the Gain which is one of my favorite books, and it had me connecting so many dots in my life. So get ready for a personal episode! 2) As I share these parts of my own personal story and see an old chapter close, I close it with love, knowing it shaped me into the person I am today. It might feel like an oversharer, yet I am also a 4/6 Sacral Generator in Human Design and this had me remembering that I am meant to live these lessons, and then share them with others so that they can see themselves in my story. That is a strength of mine and when I am not playing in that realm, I am in a disservice to others. 655 | Let Your Beliefs Grow To Match Your Vision
This episode discusses how to grow your beliefs to match your vision. A belief is a thought you continue to have, and you can control your thoughts. Now does the emotion or the thought come first, and the consensus is that the emotion/energy comes first and it creates the thoughts and how to grow those thoughts and beliefs to bring your vision to life. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Here's the picture, you have the download, and the vision hits home, you might feel some excitement, and then there's a pause. Your conscious brain immediately says, "Who are you to; someone has already done it or is doing it; you aren't qualified; you can't do it like someone else; and you have already planted or gone back to the planting the conscious seed of doubt, and then your subconscious mind responds to you and says, "oh you want proof, here you go", and before you know you, you have stopped and you shelve that dream for maybe one day or it's not for me mentality. 2) You can gain experience, get in the rooms, surround yourself with supportive people, visualize your success, and address the limiting beliefs that are holding you back. The vision is coming to you for you, because you are capable of achieving Join the Become OUTSPOKEN Write Your Damn Book Open House https://www.marshavanw.com/OUTSPOKENOPENHOUSE Bonuses, save $1000, kick-off in January 2024 Join the OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification https://www.marshavanw.com/outspoken2023 Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Marsha is the 6-time Bestselling Author of "When She Stopped Asking Why". 654 | What's The Story You're Telling Yourself?
In this episode, we are discussing the story you are telling yourself and how to shift that narrative into actionable steps. This was an IG Live that was juicy enough to share here. In this episode, we discuss: 1) The story that you feed is the one you keep alive. We put so much stock in these old stories, this then becomes our identity and then we show up with less conviction in what we're here to do. The stories we tell ourselves when we are full of doubt, are stories that boil down to not being enough or not feeling worthy enough. 2) Changing the story won't happen without being aware first, and then having a toolbox to pull on those tools so that we don't shame our judge ourselves for feeling those feelings. Ask yourself, "when did you decide that?". Then look for contrary evidence showing us proof that it is not true, and compile that evidence to show yourself the proof. Then re-write it in a new empowering way, and anchor it into your subconscious mind with repetition by using the tools of hypnosis, subliminal, EFT tapping, and FLIP The Script Technique to get your subconscious mind on board with the direction and path you know you are meant to be on. 653 | The Choice To Love with Paul Zolman
Today we are speaking with Love Language Linguist Paul Zolman. Paul is the author of Love is God. In His wisdom, He placed us in a variety of circumstances that require us to find our way back to His pure love. So, what qualifies Paul Zolman to speak about love? His childhood experience of the opposite of love. From that austere beginning, and the distaste it formed inside him, he searched for and eventually created a method that transformed his life from anger to loving everyone. Growing up in a family of abuse, physical touch became his preferred love style, only because of the regularity. He could almost count on it. It was consistent. He came to think that was the way to express love. But deep inside, he knew that was a twisted belief. He wanted a better life for himself, which is why he created a paradigm shift that works. In this book, you'll find what helped Paul Zolman move from a childhood boot camp of abuse to being a person who loves everyone and can find good about anyone in any circumstance. This is truly the role of love. In this episode, we dive into: 1) Paul shared his story of his childhood, experiencing the opposite of love, and how he learned to love, forgive, and continue to write to his parents on a weekly basis for 32 years, this helped him to shift past the anger he was holding onto. 2) There are so many nuggets in this episode about how to heal, choose to respond differently to your circumstances, the role of love and how it comes from internal and not external work, and his creation of The Role of Love, how it is being used in some schools and how it is encouraging people to focus on gratitude, love and searching for the goodness in others. 652 | This Is Killing Your Goal-Setting Success
In this episode, we are talking about how to set your goals differently in a way that sets you up for success. The act of goal setting is from our conscious mind and that is literally where 5% of your thoughts and beliefs are stored. It is using such a small part of your brain's capacity. Today we are going to learn how to set goals with your unconscious mind to set you up for success. This is far more than the SMART goal theory that we are typically used to using when we set goals. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Our conscious mind is the goal setter, it creates the vision board, sets the goals, lays out the plans, puts it into our calendar, and figures that the intention for why you are doing something is enough. It's believing it is all about your willpower. 2) Creating a goal with ease and following through comes from combining the conscious and the subconscious mind. When you utilize both you set yourself up for success. This comes down to the questions that you ask yourself while setting these goals. 3) Some of the key questions to ask yourself are: how can you make it compelling (what do you see, hear, or feel; know where you are starting from; How will you know when you have it; what will this outcome get for you or allow you to do; owning your results; looking at the resources you have to achieve it; stating your outcome with positive language and then future pacing it in empowering language, "I have, I do, I am." 651 | Fall In Love With Uncertainty
In this episode, we are talking about uncertainty and how uncomfortable it makes all of us. Uncertainty is something we all experience every single day, especially when we are growing and expanding our comfort zone. Let's chat about uncertainty and specifically what it means to our subconscious brain. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Our brains perceive uncertainty as a threat and unsafe. Our subconscious mind's number one job is to keep us safe, and uncertainty is perceived to be the opposite of that. 2) Learning how to become more comfortable with uncertainty can help you to reduce stress, come to a place of peace, and calmness which allows you to see opportunities and possibilities more easily. 3) We crave safety and security, and we are meant to grow and not stay the same. How can you try something new, that is a small stretch and not see it as a painful failure, and how can you become aware of what you are clinging to? Because whatever you are clinging to could be the thing that could set you free if you can learn how to trust yourself and let it go. 649 | Your Life Changes When Your Perspective Changes
In this episode, we are chatting about perspective and how it is critical in creating change in our lives. Perspective is the way we view and interpret the world around us. It shapes our thoughts, emotions, and actions and can greatly impact our overall well-being. By learning to shift our perspective, we can gain new insights and find creative solutions to life's challenges. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Perspective is the ability to put ourselves in the place of someone else while recognizing their point of view, experience, and beliefs. Instead of viewing a setback as a failure, we can choose to see it as a learning opportunity. This shift in perspective can help us grow, learn, and become more resilient. 2) By embracing a growth mindset, overcoming limiting beliefs, cultivating gratitude, and adapting to change, you can unlock new opportunities, achieve personal growth, and find fulfillment. Perspective helps us to understand situations from other positions, and to consider other beliefs, experiences, and viewpoints. This gives us a better understanding and greater empathy. It reduces bias, and judgment, and reduces conflict. Perspective is the strength you need. This strength is being able to recognize and understand multiple viewpoints. 648 | What Is Self-Regulation Trying To Teach You?
In this episode, we are chatting about self-regulation, what it is, what it is teaching you, and how it can become your compass in your life and business. Self-regulation is the ability to control one's behavior, emotions, and thoughts in the pursuit of long-term goals, and more specifically, it is the ability to manage disruptive emotions, impulses, and negative thought patterns. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) In order to improve your self-regulation, it starts with seeing where are you not being open to learning, changing, or growing; not recognizing your triggers; not practicing self-discipline in filling your own cup first or honouring your boundaries; where are you not reframing the negative thoughts that are blocking you; and where are you not believing in yourself that it is possible to create change in your life. Taking care of physical and mental health through exercise, proper nutrition, and adequate sleep can positively impact self-regulation. As well as, time management, prioritizing your tasks, managing your time and energy, and reducing stress can all improve your self-regulation. 2) Being conscious of your thoughts, feelings, and behavior is the foundation of self-regulation, the only way is to become so conscious of your unconscious patterns without judgment or shame. Without it, there is no ability to reflect or choose a different path. 646 | How Can You Grow Your Willpower A Little More?
In this episode, we kick off the New Year talking about willpower. Willpower is something that you think you have, don't, or assume others have it and it's not available for you. As we kick off a New Year, the average amount of time people stick with your new goals are In today's episode, we discuss: 1) How you can strengthen your willpower by understanding the power of your subconscious mind. Willpower is built with 5% of your conscious mind and missing the powerhouse of your subconscious mind. It is said that our subconscious mind is a million times more powerful than the conscious mind. The subconscious mind consists of long-term memory. emotions and feelings. habit and behaviour patterns. 2) Here are 13 points to understanding the power of your subconscious mind when it comes to helping you to achieve your goals and build more willpower to help you to see what is possible. The article was written by Brianna Weist, the author of The Mountain is You, one of my fav books. I changed some of the points to speak from the NLP perspective and I shared personal examples for each, https://bit.ly/3RQ27HM 1. Be willing to see the unchangeable change 2. Give yourself permission to be successful 3. Don't allow other people's fears to cast shadows of doubt. 4. Surround yourself with positive reinforcement 5. Speak about your success as a present fact, not a future plan. 6. Create a vision space and practice 7. Identify your resistance. Call out your limiting beliefs, decisions, and emotions that are building more doubt 8. Have a master plan for your life, what are your intentions for how you choose to live, what values are the most important for you? 9. Start a gratitude journal. Gratitude only amplifies more of who you are and what you are calling in. 10. Start asking for what you want, not what you don't want. Whatever you speak life into is what you will live. 11. Release your attachment to the "how." 12. Surround yourself with people who help you rise to your potential. 13. 645 | Can You Stack the Deck In Your Favour?
In this episode, let's talk about stacking the deck in your favour. As we are finishing off another year, it is straightforward to jump ahead, plan out the next year, and set big goals. How can you finish the year, stacking your wins, lessons, and experiences and set yourself up for success in the upcoming year? It starts with changing our beliefs, building beliefs, and stacking them in our favour. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) A belief is just a thought you keep having, so focus on your thoughts, build your beliefs, and how can you get up more times than what you fall? That will build your beliefs, which over time and with repetition it will change your identity and that will change your results. 2) You are a living testament to the people who went before you and the people who will come after you. Your action inspires action in others, your power inspires power and your strength inspires strength in others. You can create a massive change in your year next year and it starts by consciously stacking the deck in your favour. 644 | The Past Does Not Equal the Future with Stephan Neff
Today we are speaking with Stephan Neff, an anaesthetist who has had more than a fair share of trauma in his life. He has tried to drown PTSD, depression, and anxiety in industrial doses of alcohol, without success. Nowadays he lives a different life, where self-love, humility, integrity, and transparency mean something. His aim is to demystify addiction and mental health problems. He hosts the show Neff Inspiration and has just released the third edition of his book "My Steps to Sobriety". He constantly seeks to become a better human and in turn, has become a breath and flexibility coach, and expands his training into functional medicine. In this episode, we dive into: 1) Stephan shared his vulnerable story, dealing with trauma at an early age, how he coped and found alcohol, the role it served for him, and how over time it became all-consuming in his life. 2) Once he experienced the power of breathwork he became a breath coach. Not willing to accept getting stiffer with age he became a flexibility coach. He strongly believes that the past does not equal the future. By taking action in a consistent way, we can experience transformations beyond our wildest dreams. 643 | What Is It Costing You?
In this episode, let's talk about how everything has a cost, and what if we added a dollar or a value to everything we do, would we make different choices? "Everything comes at a cost, just what are we willing to pay for it." ~Serena Williams. As we go into the holiday season, and the end of the year, I want you to connect with your energy and audit where you can and recognize that everything is costing you something. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) The cost of a thing is the amount of what I will call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run. Henry David Thoreau, Walden. 2) What if something costs you your peace, your happiness, or your joy? Is it worth it? What boundaries do you need to put in place for yourself? How can you honour and protect your energy, where can you ask for help? So much of this holiday season and end-of-the-year festivities can be tied up with expectations and pressure we put on ourselves. What is it costing you not to listen, not to follow through or to ignore your feelings? 642 | Can You Get Bigger Than Your Self-Doubt?
In this episode, let's talk about getting bigger than your self-doubt. When self-doubt grows it builds a wall, a fortress and it doesn't keep you safe, it blocks you from growing, from doing what you are here to do in this life. The more self-doubt grows the more fear piles on and stacks to make that wall bigger. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) What self-doubt is, how it is there to protect you, and how you can learn to chip away at that wall, while simultaneously building your self-belief within yourself. 2) You can get bigger than your self-doubt by building self-confidence, and self-trust by becoming so reliable that you do what you say you will do, and that consistency is what helps you to grow your self-worth. You can learn to stack the deck in your favour. 641 | All Change Starts With Taking Ownership First with Seb Lavoie
In this episode, we speak with Life coach, trainer, and scholar, Seb Lavoie. Seb is a sought-after performance coach, guest & motivational speaker who spent 23 years of combined service (military and police) with 16 years spent in Tactical Operations. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Seb shares his story of growing up with many stories of adversity, challenges, and a young mother who set him up for succession planning, personal responsibility, ownership, and exposure to the concept of teamwork. 2) This led to Seb building resilience, unwavering determination was critical in Seb building the skills to become an elite tactical operator on a full-time SWAT team. He achieved the rank of Sergeant Major, and notably as the first visible minority to do so in British Columbia. 640 | What Thoughts Are You Feeding?
In this episode, let's talk about the thoughts you are feeding into your mind because your thoughts create your beliefs and experiences. You have positive thoughts and you have negative ones too. We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) What if you realize that your negative thoughts are not your thoughts, they come from other people, from other situations and circumstances, and from our interpretation of what we have made something mean, and all of it was done during our most formative years before the age of eight years old. 2) Remember the game of telephone and how the story changes as it makes its way back to you? Probably not, I just dated myself. I shared this example and the fact that your subconscious mind is like a computer hard drive that is constantly scanning for proof and examples of whatever thoughts you are thinking. Remember that your subconscious mind is trying to protect you and keep you safe, it is its #1 job. 639 | The Weight of Your Bitterness Shell
In this episode, I share some thoughts on bitterness and how it can become a shell you never intended to build or create. The weight of bitterness will spill into everyone else and become a toxin that only further affects and impacts you in your life and how you show up. This was inspired by "The Mindshift" book by Erwin Raphael McMcanus |In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Bitterness starts when we cling to anger and resentment and start holding a grudge. Instead of responding with forgiveness or love, we may let our negative emotions grow and treat others with passive-aggressive behavior or hostility. 2) Someone bitter is angry and unhappy because they cannot forget bad things that happened in the past. When you learn to deal with the bitterness, see it differently, and learn that you are no longer in your own story your thoughts, habits, and beliefs, you can then write a new story. 638 | Recovery Has A Wide Reach with Tanya Gioia
In this episode, we are speaking with Theological Recovery Coach, Tanya Gioia. Tanya knows that for every addict, 5 people are impacted. Tanya has been through a lot of challenges you're familiar with: striving for a career to make her whole; chasing a man to fulfill her; jumping unhealed into a second marriage; managing new babies and an addicted husband as well as her own codependency; and running her own business thinking enough money would "save" her. Finally, Tanya decided she deserved more in her life – from her life. She set out to learn everything, AA, Alanon, Celebrate Recovery, and Deep Therapy (EMDR), and decided to help heal others who share similar challenges by getting her professional coaching certification. Tanya works with women who want to finally heal their marriage and family whilst supporting their husbands through recovery from addiction. She uses her unique Dancing with Joy process to help them become the woman her husband cherishes and the mother who places God and love first to create a truly connected loving, and supportive family In this episode, we discuss: 1) We dove into Tanya's story, stats, and info about addiction and recovery, and how she decided to work on herself and make this her mission since she was raising someone else's husband and wanted more for her life and to make an impact for others. Addiction/substance abuse is rampant and literally a pandemic on its own, one that has a ripple effect of impacting 5 people for every person dealing with addiction. 2) We dive into the topic and understanding of what codependency means and how it was a turning point for Tanya as she realized that if her husband got well, she wouldn't have a job. His wellness became her full-time job, and that started the shift to realize that she had to start working on herself first in order for anything to change. 637 | Trust That Failure Is Your Friend
In this episode, I am sharing an answer to a question I was asked as a recent podcast guest on my friend Fallon's podcast, Prosperity By Design, and she asked me a question that had me reflecting. She was a guest on my show back in 2021, a little over 400 episodes ago, crazy I know, and she said she was listening to a few recent episodes and wanted to share how much my confidence, and certainty in my voice have changed. She wanted to know what I had done differently. I wanted to share my thoughts and answers. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) I actually think I have failed way more than people would realize, more programs and ideas haven't worked, collaborations that didn't continue, projects I started and stopped, and that left me with a lot of doubt and frustration, yet failure can be your friend. It is required, it will teach you more than you can imagine. "Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of success." ~ Unknown 2) The work of NLP, aka OUTSPOKEN has definitely had an effect on my confidence, also because subconscious reprogramming has helped me to recognize my blind spots, to see those old stories pop up, to not make them mean anything about me, and to know that with every NO that I am closer to the yes'. The no's have taught me a lot these past three years; pivot is an understatement. It has been a non-stop pivot journey but instead of throwing tons of spaghetti on the wall, I go inward first, quiet the noise, listen to what lights me up, say yes to that more, and allow myself to fail and get back up again. 636 | If You Want To Change Your Life, Change Your Story with Dave Albin
In this episode, we speak with CEO, Founder, and Master Instructor, Dave Albin. Dave was born in 1954 at Queen of Angles Hospital in Hollywood, California to a single mother. He was adopted by his Aunt and uncle on his mother's side at the age of 5. His adoptive parents told Dave they were not his parents at 11 years old. Later that year both his adoptive parents started drinking. This is where Dave's life took a hard turn. Dave tried alcohol at the age of 12. By the time he was 14, he was experimenting with hard drugs. Grossly addicted to drugs and alcohol he joined AA some 20 years later in June 1988. This is when Dave was introduced to the personal development industry. He attended a seminar with Tony Robbins in 1995 where he did his first firewalk. Dave went on to work for Tony Robbins for just shy of 20 years as Tony's Firewalk Captain. Dave retired from the Anthony Robbins Companies in 2014 shortly after GOOGLE hired him to put on an event for them in Mountain View, California Corp Headquarters. Firewalk Productions, LLC was born in 2014. Dave has done gigs for NASA, Heineken, The Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), RE Max, Chick-fil-A, Pruvit, Google, NI, NC Chiropractic Association, Wayne Dyer, T Harv Eker, CRISP Video, Tony Robbins and many others. Dave currently lives in the Appalachian Mountains in Ashe County North Carolina. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Dave's experience with Firewalking, how it changed his life, and how it led him to work with Tony Robbins for over 2 decades and then to run his own Firewalk Adventures for business owners, executives, and entrepreneurs. 2) Dave openly shares his back story, the years of addiction, his sobriety journey, and how he has conditioned himself to focus and live in gratitude. Fear and gratitude cannot occupy the same space and learning to see the story differently is how you change the story. 635 | NLP in My Business Now vs Then
In this episode, I am sharing the tools of NLP, subconscious reprogramming, and how these tools have changed how I operate in my life and business over the last 3 years. I don't even recognize myself, and I smile when I see those old versions show up again. Now this is not a slam myself moment, because that is not productive at all. I wanted to share how these tools have made a huge difference in my life and business and maybe you will see yourself in my story. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) NLP, neurolinguistic programming, came into my life around 10 years ago, although I had no idea what it was. Tony Robbins, his work impacted me tremendously years ago when I realized the words I was speaking had power in my life. It officially came into my life 3 years ago when I took my NLP practitioners, signing up while in the hospital trying to figure out how I was going to recover from back surgery. Let's keep this super simple, someone asked me on a recent podcast what the difference NLP brought into my life and business and I decided to actually visit that question and write it down. 2) Before - I did not trust my voice or my message, and deep down had that perfectionist/people pleaser message on repeat. I pushed super hard, to burnout regularly as thought it was a badge of honour, I didn't listen and I was in the constant spiral energy of proving my self-worth. I made my thoughts, my results mean something about me and my self-worth. I believed the limiting beliefs were true and were predicting my success or lack of success. I was on a constant search for more strategy as I was convinced I was missing it and it would help me move my "blocks". Another coach and another program would have the answer I was missing. When you search for or sign up from these things from a space of lack, you will never find what you are looking for. These decisions need to come from a space of empowerment. 3) After NLP - I am not going to tell you that it's perfectly smooth without any challenges because that is ridiculous. In fact I can tell you that we have been walking through one of the toughest years with so many challenges and all things considered, I am damn proud of myself for how I am navigating it all. I trust my voice, message and live my life OUTSPOKEN, not in the reactive, waste energy way, but in the way that I honour my voice, energy and message. I pick my battles. I listen way more than ever, I honour my energy and I ask what I need and I honour and value it. I prioritize rest, self care, healing and my subconscious reprogramming tools. I recognize my thoughts as thoughts, and literally the building blocks to beliefs. Rewriting and reprogramming new empowering thoughts, hello subconscious reprogramming. Limiting beliefs, I go to the root cause with the techniques that I have access to create lasting changes, and I understand the power of my SBM to support my conscious mind in going after my goals Building OUTSPOKEN Self-Belief Audio Bundle https://www.marshavanw.com/offers/pApGMinw Bonuses, save $1000, kick-off in January 2024 Join the OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification https://www.marshavanw.com/outspoken2023 Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Marsha is the 6-time Bestselling Author of "When She Stopped Asking Why". 634 | Where Do You Allow Yourself to Live?
In this episode, I am sharing the tools of NLP, subconscious reprogramming, and understanding how your subconscious mind works. It literally doesn't understand time, at the subconscious level, the mind remembers everything and it can travel time. Our subconscious mind is constantly trying to protect us, keep us safe, and prevent us from feeling pain. So you might hear that you have to stay present with your thoughts, yet sometimes that doesn't feel possible. Here's a permission slip to see your thoughts differently, give yourself some grace and know that your mind is trying to navigate the challenges you are facing. Also while knowing that whatever you are resisting will always persist. It is you against you and this is one way to give yourself some grace and compassion. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) I heard Tyler Henry on a podcast, he is a medium with a show on Netflix. I heard him say, as humans we are multi-dimensional species, we live in the past, present, and future all at the same time. "He said we live in the past through our memories, we live in the present through our choices, and we live in the future through our dreams". When all 3 are integrated, we live at our optimal level of health and wholeness. 2) What if all 3 parts play a role in who we are and how we show up? What if we're not doing it wrong? Our vision for the future pulls us forward, the present choices keep us grounded in the present as our best selves, allowing us to be focused forward, and the past calls us backward. Our memories are important, they shape us into who we are today. However, our past experiences are not the defining ingredients in our lives, it is our interpretation of those experiences that create us. How we remember them, and how we interpret them shapes us. This is the story vs the narrative, and Joe Dispenza says within 2 years our memories are only 50% accurate. If you pull on memory and create anxiety and stress, the body is stronger than the mind, and the memory creates an emotion, and that emotion will pull you in the direction of that feeling. What thoughts do you want to think, what feelings do you want? Your brain then no longer becomes a record of the past it becomes a map to the future. When you learn to use your subconscious mind to your advantage it will change your trajectory! 633 | Finding A Way Out Of Trafficking with Amanda Blackwood
In this episode, we are speaking with Author, Artist, Speaker, and Survivor, Amanda Blackwood. Amanda is an accomplished artist and author, public speaker, podcast host, trauma recovery mentor, and a survivor of human trafficking. Amanda has spoken on a multitude of stages, international summits, and radio programs, and has published over a dozen books. A portion of every book sale goes to help fight human trafficking. Amanda lives in Denver, Colorado with her rescue cats and supportive husband who keep her sane. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Amanda is a survivor of human trafficking who was not "rescued" by anyone. She had to own her own life to get out alive. 2) Amanda shares her story of being trafficked on multiple occasions, how she supported herself in her healing and recovery, and how she is openly sharing her story on multiple podcast episodes and publishing 13 books since 2017. 632 | Celebrating The 6-Year Anniversary Of When She Stopped Asking Why
In this episode, I am celebrating and sharing that it has been 6 years since my 6x Bestselling Book release When She Stopped Asking Why. I am a completely different person since that book release and I am so grateful for this experience. I wanted to share some lessons that still ring true for me, some new lessons, the power of asking different questions, and how the dots always connect even when we don't think they ever will make sense. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) A number of lessons, takeaways, gratitudes, and a quick reading of an excerpt of When She Stopped Asking Why. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support! 2) It starts with building trust within ourselves first, if we don't trust ourselves we can't expect others to trust us. When you don't have obvious trust, go back and look for proof, limiting beliefs questions, what is the truth, where is the evidence, rewriting in a new empowering way. 3) We haven't met the people we are meant to impact yet – the most incredible people in my life, I didn't know when I wrote that book, and so much of it started from that point. 631 What If Your Thoughts Were Clouds And Not Plants
In this episode, I am leaning into the tools of NLP, subconscious reprogramming, and understanding the power of your thoughts, what if you thought of thoughts as clouds instead of plants? Clouds move, they come in and go, they never stay and they don't anchor in place. Plants take up space, they grow roots, get stronger, take water, and nourishment, and gain life, and will eventually take over if you don't take care of them. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Let's back it up and look at what a belief is. A belief is simply a thought that you continue to have. We have 60-80K thoughts a day, 80-90% are a repeat from the day before and 90% of those thoughts are negative. 2) Don't let your thoughts stay long, see them, don't resist them, don't judge them, and wave them on through. Focus on the thoughts you do want, the ones that move you forward to where you want to go. Literally, change the thought at the moment that speaks to what you do want and anchor in that belief. 630 | There's Life And Hope After The Cult with Scott Homan
In this episode, we speak with Director-Producer-Filmmaker-Podcaster-Writer-Cinematographer, Scott Homan. Scott was raised in the fiercely DIY "Northwoods" of Wisconsin deep in the wild of the Great Lakes region. His music community created Oh The Crib! records in a house in the forest as teenagers, where they recorded two albums while being influenced by a cult. He ran camera and sound for a local news station and then went to university for photography and digital media. Today he runs Banana Island Films, which was born in Hanoi, Vietnam during his five years there. He directed a music scene documentary, Hanoi Mixtape, which you can watch at HanoiMixtape.com. Witness Underground is his sophomore film and a much bigger project which includes the Witness Underground Podcast, a series, "XJW Coming Out," and an artist grant. His present projects all focus on artists escaping cults, especially musicians. The proceeds from watching Witness Underground on Patreon go towards fostering new healing art through an ex-cult-member artist grant program. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Scott embarked on a new career, moved to the other side of the planet for 5 years in Vietnam, rebuilt his sense of self, and gained the skills to tell a cult exit story in a unique way that they're all very proud of. 2) Scott's focus is to share the journey of what happens when people leave a cult, and how they now share their creative expression through their art and music. He openly shares this journey of creating community and humanizing the experience of life after the cult without the feelings of being re-traumatized. 629 | Can You Trust The Reasons?
In this episode, I want to ask you a question, can you trust the things/reasons that you cannot see? How fast can you move forward when things don't make sense, when you put the goals out there and things are not unfolding in the way you had planned, the way you anticipated or desired? How do you show up when it looks like it isn't working out? In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Building inner trust, intuition, and a knowing that there's a reason why some things are not working out for you, that there is always a reason, and that the universe is not on your timeline yet it is on the perfect timeline. 2) How do you show up with continuous belief when it seems to make no sense at all? I have a few questions that I ask myself when I am in this situation, and it comes down to, "this or something better", "wouldn't it be cool if", or "show me how the universe", and I anchor these in all the time. Continue to build that self-belief within yourself and it will help you navigate the times that seem to make no sense and you will learn to trust the reasons why it is or isn't working out for you in this moment. 628 What If It's Not Self-Sabotage?
In this episode, I am leaning into the tools of NLP, subconscious reprogramming, and understanding how powerful our thoughts, emotions, and words are, and how this one-word shift can help you to see yourself differently. Let's shift the words of self-sabotage to self-protection or self-preservation. Your body is hardwired to crave familiarity, even if it is the discomfort that you say you don't want. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Self-sabotage is a way to protect you from discomfort, from things that might feel scary, or have the fear of failure. What if instead, we stop resisting this fear, we see it, we let it go, and we know that we are more than worthy of creating any change we see in our lives? 627 | From The Floor To The Door with Michelle Shekhinah
Today we are speaking with the Author, Mentor, Coach, Survivor, and Thrivor, Michelle Shekhinah. Michelle was married for many years and was a stay-at-home Mom for 2 children. In 2015, Michelle realized that her husband was addicted to drugs. At this time, she experienced financial, emotional, and sexual abuse from him, which turned into his sex trafficking. Michelle spent many nights crying on the floor, until one night she saved her life and ran for the door. Since then, she has been healing herself, with therapy and other techniques. She has become a strong Mom for her children, in addition to being an advocate and mentor for other women and teens who have suffered any form of trauma and abuse. Her story is compelling, heartbreaking, and yet full of hope and reconciliation. In this episode, we dive into: 1) Michelle openly shares her vulnerable story, bringing so much awareness to trafficking, control, how it escalated, how she found her way out, to finding the courage to share her story and move literally from the floor to the door. 2) Michelle continues to move forward and be the best role model for her children and other women/teenagers who have experienced trauma as well. 626 | Are You Ready To Become Outspoken?
In this episode, I am leaning into the tools of vulnerability and returning to the power of vulnerability. You deserve to live your life outspoken, lean into vulnerability, take up space, and allow yourself to be seen and heard. To be a great speaker is more than finding your voice, it is to allow yourself to connect with your audience, develop confidence, composure, and understanding of human behaviour and all of these things you can't do with others if you can't coach yourself through the ego, fear-based thoughts, self-sabotage, and limiting beliefs. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) I have been coaching myself these last few months more than most people can see and I want to be fully transparent and honest with you. You can go through challenges and still grow and build your business while finding your own way to be authentic and share what you feel with your audience. The word that described you as a child is actually more of an anchor and description of you than you think. 2) This word, name has triggered so many people desiring to be or become outspoken. The reason why you are struggling is buried deep in your subconscious mind. It is more than the fears of not being confident enough, and not being seen, the subconscious work of unpacking the stories we have heard for years and letting those become a part of our limitations and essentially our identity. It is the story we have created and the narrative of the story that we keep telling ourselves, Building OUTSPOKEN Self-Belief Audio Bundle https://www.marshavanw.com/offers/pApGMinw Bonuses, save $1000, kick-off in January 2024 Join the OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification https://www.marshavanw.com/outspoken2023 Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Marsha is the 6-time Bestselling Author of "When She Stopped Asking Why". 625 | The Ceiling Is An Illusion
In this episode, I am sharing some thoughts on ceilings and how we unconsciously make them for ourselves. "You are your own ceiling." ~ Mindset Shift Author, Erwin Raphael McManus. Let's talk about ceilings and how we are creating them to keep ourselves from being hurt and in the process staying small. In today's episode, we discuss: 1)The ceiling you set for yourself is an illusion, it is not permanent. Our ceilings are created by our own mental rigidity, formed by our past experiences, perceptions, beliefs, lessons, and yes our subconscious mind. Life is a building that has many floors, when you walk into the first floor do you see that is all there is or do you see how many more floors there are? 2) Your ceiling is someone else's floor. "We don't soar to the level of our goals and dreams, we stay stuck at the level of our self-worth" ~ Jamie Kern Lima. 3) The person who is showing you what is possible is proof. They have learned to raise their floor. 624 | Turning Massive Adversity Into Your Greatest Gift with Branden Coluccio
Today we are speaking with 2x Author, Speaker, entrepreneur, coach, and podcaster, Branden Coluccio. Branden is best known for turning his life's GREATEST setback into a FORCE that has lifted up those around him, forever positively impacting the lives of others overcoming their own struggles in life. From private equity to entrepreneurship to a $67 million exit at 29, then $40 million in real estate by 31, Branden's meteoric rise was the stuff of legends. But in reality, he was bloated, out of shape, anxious, self-medicating with alcohol, and lacking a solid foundation in life. The fall from grace was swift and agonizing. He went from private equity boy wonder to outcast. In July of 2020, he surrendered to federal prison. His life was forever changed. But in the darkest of hours of his life, he vowed that this horrible event would not destroy him. Instead, he committed to turning this into one of the greatest moments of his life. A moment that he would use to positively impact the lives of those around him facing their own challenges. Branden returned home in the best physical and mental shape of his life, quit alcohol, nurtured a wonderful marriage, wrote his second book, and dedicated himself to teaching others the blueprint for turning massive adversity into your life's greatest gift. In this episode, we dive into: 1) Branden is the founder of White Collar Savage, a Whole-life coaching brand for the high-achiever who wants to go from adversity to SAVAGE! He also works with founders to build 7, 8, and 9-figure businesses and become their highest and best selves in the process. Branden lives with deep conviction that the human spirit is a weapon to be used for good, but that this mindset must be sharpened, and adversity is the opportunity to unlock the greatest versions of ourselves. But it can also kill us. Branden's blueprint for total savagery in life is battle-tested and proven over and over. 2) The process of starting over with a blank slate is an incredible experience of forced rebuilding, personal growth, development, finding gratitude and ownership, and personal responsibility. 623 | Your Thoughts Are A Lie
In this episode, I am sharing some info based on NLP and subconscious reprogramming how your thoughts are a lie. When you learn that your thoughts and feelings don't always tell the truth, and in fact they often lie to make situations worse than they really are. Your thoughts are incredibly powerful, and they exert an enormous influence on how you manage your life. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Our thoughts are certainly part of us, they come from us, but we are not our thoughts. The average person has over 60,000 thoughts a day (according to Dr Fred Luskin at Stanford University). Of those 60,000, 90% of them are repetitive from the day before and 80-90% are negative. We are repeating our negative thoughts on a loop every single day. 2) We are all conditioned by the way we are brought up, education, and society. So we are not capable of looking at things without this conditioning, without the images, which cloud our thoughts. So our thoughts due to this conditioning may not reflect reality. 3) To change your thoughts, starts with recognizing them, acknowledging them, and seeing them for what they are, your brain trying to keep you safe. I share the power of reframing and dissociating, the power of your words, and how to see these thoughts differently. 622 | Shine A Light On Your Uniqueness
In this episode, I am sharing a thought that we spend so much time trying not to stand out that instead, we put ourselves in a box that blocks our connections. "Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world. Don't let anything stand in the way of the light that shines through this form. Risk being seen in all of your glory, and never apologize for burning too brightly." In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Your light will give someone else permission to shine theirs, you show them what is possible. They need your light to find theirs. "What sets you apart can sometimes feel like a burden and it's not. And a lot of the time, it's what makes you great." — Emma Stone. 2) Tony Robbins, "The people that are most fulfilled are the people that are growing and the people that are giving. We tend to hide our uniqueness, when you think of a tree growing in a forest, they are all trees, but every single one of them is different and shaped differently, humans are fighting the same filament and it comes from owning our differences and letting them be seen. 3) If you're not sure, look at who you connect with online, whose stories you watch and connect with they are the people that are showing themselves in their every day, their uniqueness, their unique personality, their imperfections, that is what you are connected to, and that is what will connect you to the people you are meant to connect with. Her fitness and health background combined with her training as an Intelligence Operation Coach with Health Coach, Health Podcaster, Public Speaker, and upcoming author, is an avid reader and learner of self-growth. She is also a Harley motorcyclist and has traveled all of Canada and many of the US states, and she is a golfer and pickleball enthusiast. Cindy is a mother of 2 and wife of 28 years to her sweetheart, retired military husband, Darren. Cindy has lived a life of action from serving in the military in her younger years and has jumping out of a military aircraft and serving on a UN tour in Croatia for 6 months when she was 24. She is driven by duty and service to others and sees the big picture for others even when they don't see it for themselves yet. In this episode, we discuss: 1) Cindy's personal story of navigating and growing through grief over the loss of their son, Dylan. Cindy openly shares some of the do's and don'ts when you are supporting someone in a grief experience, and how to navigate, interrupt patterns and start a healing journey. 2) Cindy shares how the loss of Dylan made her reassess everything in her life that is vital for survival. 620 | Can You Master Your Inner World?
In this episode, I have a question I want you to ask yourself. Can you master your inner world? That might mean that stuff is happening, challenges are piling up, things you cannot control, and experiences that are really freaking hard, yet can you master the mundane, your inner world? Because that is what is driving your outer world. "Your inner world reflects your outer world", ~T. Harv. Ecker. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) In our time of living our lives online, everything we gauge someone's success in is based on what we think is their outer world, because we have no idea what their inner world is like. I always say you never know a person's story and even when you think you do, you don't. You see what they let you see, and you decide what you see based on the lens of your world, and your lens is a collection of your own beliefs, experiences, and memories, that you are storing. 2) "Take charge of your inner world by destroying the limitations caused by outer distractions. Your true worth is determined by what you carry in your soul, not in your hands. Learn, because life is ahead of you. Live, because death is before you." ~unknown 3) Mastering your inner world is not about toxic positivity. It is about recognizing that you are the one person you are spending all of your time with, your body, and your subconscious mind is always listening. So if you are constantly being negative, criticizing yourself, and making it impossible to succeed, then your inner world, the limitations you have created for yourself are blocking you from what is possible for you in your outer world. The change you desire and what you are seeking always starts from the inside first. 619 | Fear Doesn't Get A Vote
In this episode, I am sharing a quote I heard that said, "Fear can have a voice, it doesn't get a vote." by Elizabeth Gilbert. Stop trying to rid yourself of fear, it doesn't go away, you build a better relationship with it. Fear can keep you safe, it has well-meaning intentions, yet it doesn't get the deciding vote, or the final decisions. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Fear can be a compass, a guiding light, and a curiosity of next step decisions, all while not being the deciding factor for what you say yes and no to, etc. Fear is literally your subconscious mind trying to keep you safe, small, and protected. 2) When you give fear a voice, recognize it is there, and build a better relationship with it, all while not letting it dictate your future, or be the brick wall that stops you, then you will start believing in yourself more and taking the action steps necessary to build yourself for the next opportunities that you are ready for. 617 | The Catalyst For My Solo Book
In this episode, I am sharing the back story behind this writing, my Bestselling solo book, When She Stopped Asking Why, the following collaborative books, and where we are going and the direction we are moving in. The early steps had to happen first, and "we can only connect the dots looking back" Steve Jobs. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Writing was never my strong suit, I wrote my first collab chapter in 2016, followed by 2 more before I committed to writing my solo book in 2017. Writing a collab chapter is actually harder than it looks to contain one piece of your story into one chapter of 2-3,000 words. It felt natural to want to move towards sharing more of the story in my own book, yet still very scary to commit to that big of a project. 2) Always be mindful of who you share your biggest desires with, especially when they are not the people you are meant to share your journey with, the quote seasons, reasons and lifetimes really fits with this time in my life. I am also sharing the wall-kicking moments, how it required me to be quieter and create space, and how the cover changed at the very last minute, all signs that I was meant to trust what I could not see yet. 3) This is one of the areas that I talk to people and they say they have had a lifelong vision of wanting to write a book, yet fear, the unknown, lack of confidence, or overwhelm is stopping them. If you are ready to look at the opportunity to write and share your story with the world, especially if your goal is to impact, reach, and help others, this is the space for you. 616 | What Are You Magnifying?
In this episode, I am sharing a thought I heard about what are you magnifying and focusing on. Your past mistakes are meant to guide you not define you. "One's past does not define them... it is what they have chosen to do from that point forward." ~unknown In today's episode, we discuss: 1) Where your focus goes your energy flows. You can learn from your past mistakes, but amplifying them with a magnifying glass, overanalyzing them, hyperfocusing on them is not going to change your story. At some point, you have to recognize that it is part of your story, part of your journey. 2) The power of zooming out, standing in the gain recognizing how far you have come, and honoring what that experience taught you. 3) What if you amplified your assets, your gratitudes, your lessons, your experiences, your unique qualities, your superpowers, etc., what/how would that change your future? I am because this vision is WAY bigger than being about me. 3) Podcasting started me on the journey of learning and teaching the tools of NLP and subconscious reprogramming, healing, and changing stories and becoming OUTSPOKEN in life helping authors to Write Their Damn Books and now into publishing. 613 | You Cannot Give What You Don't Have
In this episode, I am sharing a quote by Wayne W. Dyer: "You can't give away what you don't have. Wayne Dyer said, ''if you peel an orange and squeeze it, you will get orange juice. You can't get any other fruit juice when you squeeze an orange because there is orange juice inside the orange that comes out.'' What is inside always comes out and sometimes it comes out in ways you wish it didn't. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) You can't give what you don't have, you can't keep what you don't give, and you can't sustain what you don't receive. Similarly, when provoked what is in your heart comes out through your mouth. Sometimes the people you love hurt you the most. 2) The fill-your-cup analogy is taken one step further. I share a story of expecting to feel forgiveness and receive it from others, yet I hadn't given it to myself first. 3) How can you BE the change you are searching for first with no expectations of what someone should or shouldn't do for you? 611 | Can You See Your Blind Spots?
In this episode, I am sharing a perspective shift and understanding I have learned firsthand and through this whole process of studying NLP. We only know what we know, and there's so much that we don't know including about ourselves. It starts with taking a closer look at where you are and where you want to be and why are you not there, what is stopping you, what patterns, limiting beliefs, or patterns are blocking you. In today's episode, we discuss: 1) You can understand how the language of the mind creates patterns of emotions, behaviours, thoughts, and beliefs. With this information, you can change what isn't working, add new programs that will work better, and enhance what is working well. NLP is one tool that will also help you to learn how to communicate with yourself or others better. 2) In NLP we chunk up or chunk down our thoughts, saying that is just who I am, is not an introspective approach that allows you to create change. Certain patterns are on repeat in our lives, how can you catch it, interrupt the pattern, or ask for feedback from someone you trust? This can also be the blind spots where you excel as these are areas that light you up, and that energy can be felt. 3) So many people are in the online space coaching, leading others, claiming to be the expert, and yes maybe they have walked through really difficult situations and they can lead others through those types of situations, which does not make them great coaches or mentors. I share a couple of personal examples of this. 4) Learning more about yourself is how you can see your limiting beliefs, your patterns on repeat, the blocks and barriers that keep holding you back, how far you get and then stop yourself, you will see yourself and how you've held yourself back in a new light. 610 | You Will Never Outperform Your Beliefs
In this episode I am sharing a perspective shift and understanding I have learned firsthand and through this whole process of studying NLP. Achieving our goals is not always about working harder, doing more, working to the bone, it is about seeing where the limitations are, or the perceived limitations are. And no matter how hard you work, you will never outperform what you believe is possible for you. You will get close, almost reach your goals, but if you don't see it as something as possible then it will never happen for you. This quote by John C. Maxwell is so good, "Successful people don't have any fewer problems than unsuccessful people; they just have a different mindset in dealing with them." In today's episode we discuss: 1) Here are 5 of the most common limiting beliefs. I don't have enough time; I don't have the resources to be successful; I am not someone who follows through. I'm not good enough for x,y,z, and I don't have what it takes to be successful. 2) Your mindset is informed by beliefs, values, experiences, and cultural background, among other factors that guide your thoughts and actions. Beliefs are mental representations of what we consider to be true or false. They are the foundation of our mindset and influence our perception of the world, self-image, and behaviour. 3) A limiting mindset, on the other hand, becomes your ceiling. You can't outperform that belief. It holds you back and prevents you from achieving anything beyond it, such as "I'm not smart enough" or "I'm too old to learn new things." Once you get locked onto a set of beliefs or a single lens, everything else revolves around that mindset. Your life becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Your beliefs shape your behaviour, which in turn shapes our outcomes, reinforcing our beliefs. If we believe we are incapable of achieving anything worthwhile, we are less likely to take the necessary actions to make them a reality.
