Ep 233Jackson Wilson - I Had A Feeling

LUKE 1:1-4 (NIV)Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.LUKE 1:1-4 (ESV)I HAD A FEELING GOD IS ALWAYS TALKING. WE JUST ARE NOT ALWAYS LISTENING.“it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you,”God speaks to us through many different avenues.“And if what you see is all you see, Then you do not see all there is to be seen” - Kirk FranklinBalaam got up in the morning, saddled his donkey and went with the Moabite officials. But God was very angry when he went, and the angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose him. Balaam was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him. When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, it turned off the road into a field. Balaam beat it to get it back on the road. Then the angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path through the vineyards, with walls on both sides. When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, it pressed close to the wall, crushing Balaam’s foot against it. So he beat the donkey again. Then the angel of the Lord moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left. When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, it lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat it with his staff. Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?”Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If only I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.”The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?”“No,” he said. Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.NUMBERS 22:21-31Sometimes the message God is giving us is loud and clear, but we don’t recognize God in the message. You know how the enemy will keep you from acting on that feeling that the Holy Spirit is giving you? By getting you to a place where you believe that the word God has given you doesn’t matter because others have already said it.God wants YOUR voiceGod wanted LUKE’S voice IF YOU DOWNPLAY THE PURPOSE OF YOUR VOICE, YOU DOWNPLAY THE VOICE OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE.It takes faith.“Luke was able to write the word because he was acquainted with the Word.”You cannot discern the voice of God in your life if you don’t know what He sounds like…So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.ROMANS 10:17 (NKJV)Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.ROMANS 12:2 (ESV)ARE YOU ACQUAINTED WITH THE WORD?

Ep 232Note To Self - You Can't Earn This

Jesus didn’t say, “Earn this” from the cross. He said, “It is finished.” The message of Jesus is a message of Grace. And so many people and Christians don’t really understand what Grace really is… and so they go through life aiming at the wrong targets and they feel shame and condemnation and live under a fear of failure?…They live performance-oriented, perfection-driven lives and they end up discouraged and depressed, because they feel like they can never measure up… no matter how hard they try, they just can’t seem to “earn this”…And so lets be clear this morning… You can’t earn this. God’s love, God approval, God’s favor… You can’t earn it…. But you can have it… By grace through faith.Grace= the unmerited, undeserved, unearned kindness and favor of God. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. Isaiah 64:6Our best efforts apart from Jesus are worthless.Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.Grace is when you get what you DON’T deserve.John 10:10 I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].Romans 3:24 All are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Galatians 4:4 When the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.By Grace We Have Been AdoptedGalatians 4:4&5 God sent forth His Son… that we might receive the adoption as sons. By Grace We Have Been AdoptedGalatians 4:4&5-6 God sent forth His Son… that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. A slave has a master.A son has a father. You’re an HeirGalatians 4:7 You are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Romans 8:17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ,We have to understand and believe based on what Jesus has done, so we can walk in all that Jesus has won.You don’t have to earn it, but you do have to endorse it, you have to believe it and stand for it.Holy Spirit Galatians 4:4 When the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons,God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son nto your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” NOTE TO SELF: I CAN’T EARN THIS

Ep 231Note To Self - Words Matter

Words Are PowerfulProverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue.James 3:2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.3 we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. 7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. Hebrews 11:3 the worlds were framed by the word of GodEphesians 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; The goal is not to get God to come into agreement with your words, the goal is to get your words to come into agreement with God’s Word.words shape worlds If your words are in conflict with God’s Word it always produces death.Your words determine your direction.PIC OF HORSE BIT PIC OF “the Symphony of the sea” picture of SHIP bridgepicture of SHIP joystick.James3:8 but no human being can tame the tongue. Exodus 4:10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” 11 So the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? 12 Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”God wants to help you manage your mouth. Luke 12:11 “Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, Do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” Luke 21:15 for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!01. Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, “It is not goodthat man should be alone;Proverbs 18:1 Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.Just you and God is not good, it’s not enough.Genesis 2:18 “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet comparable for him. help meet comparable for him = ezer kenegdo) = “a helper appropriate and worthy for corresponding in form and function with him.” Help made for Him.God has created relationships for your life that are “help made for you”Your destiny is tied to your community or lack there of.Significant people have significant relationships.Exodus 4:13 Matthew 26:36-46 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to His disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me.”Godly Relationships Promote HealingJames 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. Hebrews 6:19 3 phases of hopelessness1. We get discouragedJob 4:5 2. We get depressedProverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick3. We feel despairDespair = the complete loss or absence of hope.2 Corinthians 1:8 Jeremiah 29:11 Hebrews 6:19 We have this hope as an anchorfor the soul, firm and secure. “certain” hope. Ep 228Red Letter - These Attitudes Should BE In My Life

Matthew 5:3-10Untouchable ARE the merciful.God’s mercy is His goodness, kindness, faithfulness, beauty, zeal, and favor directed at us—who don’t deserve any of it. Mercy is not only the absence of punishment we have earned, but the presence of the characteristics that personify God’s loving nature. Great + Rich + Unfailing + Plenteous + Abundant + Sure + Everlasting + Tender + Fresh + Higher Than The Sky + All Over The Earth. Mercy has nothing to do with worthiness.Every Christian we meet is a person in whom Jesus lives; every lost soul we meet is a person for whom Jesus died. BOTH are perfect candidates for God’s Mercy.Mercy is most empowering, liberating, and transformative when it is directed at the undeserving. The people who haven’t earned it, who haven’t even sought it, are the most meaningful recipients of our compassion. - Bryan Stevenson, Just MercyUntouchable ARE the pure in heart.Pure Heart = Singleness of heart. An unmixed, undivided heart. Is what you are doing for Jesus taking priority over being with Jesus? How will my daily plans change to include intentional time to be with Jesus? You will see God in creation. You will see God in your circumstances. You will see God in His Word.Untouchable ARE the peacemakers.Peace means total well-being for the mind, heart, and body. It’s a creative force, and a peacemaker is a person who releases this creative force to change the world1. The source of peace is God.2. The enemy of peace is sin. James 4:1,4 3. The minister of peace is the Christian. Matthew 5:25 When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison. And if that happens, you surely won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny. If you are out to win an argument, you will never agree with your adversary, but if you are out to win a brother, you will begin by declaring peace, not war.The quieting of the surface when the depths are still stormy is no lasting solution to the problem.4. The outcome of peace is godliness.Untouchable ARE those who are persecuted. We reignWe rejoiceMatthew 5:12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.We release loveMatthew 5:3-10 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Ep 227Red Letter - Untouchable

The Beatitudes describe the attitudes that ought to BE in the believer’s life. These Attitudes should BE in my life.Matthew 5:3-10Blessed - A joy which has its secret within itself, that joy which is serene and untouchable, and self-contained, that joy which is completely independent of all the chances and changes of life.Beatitude believers are untouchable.Untouchable ARE the poor in spirit Poor in spirit - Admitting spiritual bankruptcy and having a humble and honest attitude toward self. Romans 12:3 Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Untouchable ARE those who mourn > The someone that died is innocent Jesus. > The something that killed him is the multitude of my sins. > The mourning that takes place is over my sins. > The comfort that is administered is from risen Jesus. 2 Corinthians 7:10 For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.Worldly sorrow is sorrow focused on the consequence of sin. Godly sorry is sorrow focused on how you sinned against God.2 Corinthians 7:11 You’re more alive, more concerned, more sensitive, more reverent, more human, more passionate, more responsible. Looked at from any angle, you’ve come out of this with purity of heart. Nothing leads to defeat in the Christian life like a surface dealing with sin.Untouchable ARE the meekMeekness - Power under control.Meekness is not something we see in ourselves when we are wrong, but when we are RIGHT. Peter’s action was natural. What Jesus did was super natural. 2 Timothy 2:27 The Lord’s servant must NOT quarrel, but be gentle to ALL, good at teaching, slow to take offense, one who can REDUCE HIS OPPONENTS by the mildness of his manners. Untouchable ARE those who hunger and thirst for righteousnessRighteousness is not a luxury for us. It is a necessity.Righteousness - to be right with God, right with self, and right with others. Holiness and Wholeness that begin in your inner man. What is DRIVING you? Our most driving hunger should be to know God, please God, and enjoy God.> Our mind recognizes sin for what it is. > Our heart is repulsed by sin.> Our will refuses to sin. It is the appreciation of the excellent that motivates the believer to refuse the cheap and defiled. Psalm 84:11 No good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

Ep 226Red Letter - What Jesus Said About Forgiveness

Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 5:1 Your revelation of the forgiveness you have received from Jesus, fuels the fire for the forgiveness you can release through Jesus. If you focus on what He did.you can forgive what they didLuke 23:34 “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing, Matthew 18Matthew 18:21 Jesus’ call to forgiveness is not about keeping score but about losing count.Matthew 18, 23 ”Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. Verse 25 he was not able to pay Matthew 18 Verse 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. 26 "The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' 27 The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. Verse 28 "But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began tochoke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. 29 "His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ’Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.' 30 "But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. Verse 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. 32 "Then the master called the servant in. ’You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34 In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. 35 "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart." Unforgiveness Hurts YouHebrews 12:15 Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. #1. Choose to forgive#2. Choose to releaseRomans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.Forgiveness and the restoration of a relationship are two different things.Philippians 3:13 I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, #3. Repent For unforgivenss#4. Pray for the person who hurt youMatthew 5:43-44 "You have heard that it was said, `You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, #5. Repeat till it sticks

Ep 222Red Letter - What Greatness Looks Like

“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society." - Billy Graham“What Greatness looks like”.Matthew 20:20-28 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him. 21 “What is it you want?” he asked. She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.” Matthew 20:22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. So that means they're standing behind their mom. Matthew 20:22 “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?” Matthew 20:25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. 26 Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”. Jesus is inviting us to greatness!God is not trying to move you from greatness to servanthood. He wants to move you to greatness through servanthood.Servanthood is choosing to take the virtue of serving and using it as a strength to help you accomplish great things for the kingdom of God. “Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Anyone can be great, because anyone can serve” Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”. Ep 221Red Letter - Step Up

RED LETTER SERIESSTEP UPMatthew 14:22 (NLT) Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home.23 After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.25 About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, "It’s a ghost!"27 Jesus spoke to them at once. "Don’t be afraid," he said. "Take courage. I am here!"28 Then Peter called to him, "Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water."29 "Yes, come," Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted.31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. "You have so little faith," Jesus said. "Why did you doubt me?"32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.33 Then the disciples worshiped him. When God sees a problem, He sows a person. When the enemy (Satan) sees a problem, He sows a person.Ephesians 6:12 We do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Our battle is not against a flesh and blood enemy, it’s against a spiritual enemy that influences flesh and blood.John 10:10a The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; John 10:10b I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.Matthew 13:28 The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”#3 God Does Not Plant WeedsMatthew 13:27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ Matthew 13:28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’Evil and bad things are the outgrowth of the wicked one and His influence. 1 Peter 5:8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.Stay alert = have a healthy and realistic view of ourselves and of the world we live in. Ep 214From Here To There - Lack To Plenty

Poverty is a curse - Rich people can be under the spirit of poverty. Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our PEACE was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.Luke 18:18 Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" 19 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. 20 you know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Honor your father and your mother.'" 21 And he said, "All these things I have kept from my youth." 22 So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 23 But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich. 24 And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the Kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 26 And those who heard it sad, "Who then can be saved?" 27 But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." 28 Then Peter said, "See, we have left all and followed You." 29 So He said to them, " Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life."1. God Wants You To Be Blessed.Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and try me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.2. Surrendered or Enslaved1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their godliness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. Ep 213From Here To There - A Pathway To Life

God wants to lead you to a better place than where you are today. Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you to give you a future and a hope.1 Corinthians 2:9 Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.Love = actively doing what the Lord prefersGod wants to lead you to a better place than where you are today. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him.Acknowledge = follow hard after GodAnd He shall direct your paths.Deuteronomy 30:19 I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.Matthew 7:13-14 Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.Destruction = a complete loss of anything and everything that is desirable; forever. The shortcut is a sabotage. 1. An Appetite ShortcutMatthew 4:2-3 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry, during that time the devil came and said to him if you are the son of God tell these stones to become loaves of bread. "It will prove you are the Son of God," he said.Does the truth of God's Word bow to your appetites or do your appetites bow to the truth of God's Word? Matthew 4:4 But Jesus told him, "No! For the Scriptures tell us that bread won't feed men's souls: obedience to every word of God is what we need."2. An Approval ShortcutMatthew 4:5 Then Satan took him to Jerusalem to the roof of the Temple. 6 "Jump off," he said, "and prove you are the Son of God; for the Scriptures declare, 'God will send His angels to keep you from harm,'... they will prevent you from smashing on the rocks below." 7 Jesus retorted, "It also says not to put the Lord your God to a foolish test!"Jesus knew He already had the approval of the one that really mattered. Because Jesus understood that He already had God's approval, He didn't chase after the approval of man. Where you look for approval is where you give your allegiance. 3. A Timing ShortcutMatthew 4:8 Next Satan took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him the nations of the world and all their glory. 9 "I'll give it all to you," he said, "if you will only kneel and worship me." 10 "Get out of here Satan," Jesus told him. "The Scriptures say, 'Worship only the Lord God. Obey .only him.'"God's will outside of His timing is no longer His will. Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path.Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

REST WAS MODELED IN WHAT GOD DESIGNEDGenesis 1:3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. REST WAS MODELED BY THE ONE WHO DESIGNEDAlice in Wonderland PIC “The hurrier I go the behinder I get” Research that attempts to quantify the relationship between hours worked and productivity found that employee output falls sharply after a 50-hour work-week, and falls off a cliff after 55 hours—so much so that someone who puts in 70 hours produces nothing more with those extra 15 hours. Wayne Mueller “If we do not allow for a rhythm of rest in our overly busy lives, illness becomes our Sabbath – our pneumonia, our cancer, our heart attack, our accidents create Sabbath for us." The sabbath is blessed. Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. You were made to work. Exodus 26: 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work. Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might." Ep 205Spiritual Warfare - How To Win The War You're In

1. You’re in a war Ephesians 6:10-12 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.2. You have an enemyEphesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. People are not your real problemThe real enemy is the devil and his demons. “The problem is most people overestimate or underestimate spiritual warfare. Funny how the devil likes when we over believe or under believe just don't bible believe” - C.S. Lewis 3. The War Is Multidimensional Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see what we see in the physical did not come from anything that can be seen.1 Corinthians 2:14-15 The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. You limit God’s ability to work in your life if you limit your understand to just the natural worldIf you want to effect what’s going on in this world, you have to effect it in the spiritual world.4. The Enemy Fights With Deceptiondevil = liar, slanderer schemes = methods. The devil has methods by which He lies. The devil can’t match you strength to strengthThe devil has no power in your life unless you give it to him. The devil operates by deception to get consent and cooperation.1 John 3:8 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.#5 Power UpEphesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.#6 Dress For Success Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ep 204No Matter What - What Chick-Fil-A Taught Us About Sex

WHO is sex for? Male & Female Matthew 19:4-6WHEN is sex for: After MarriageHebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all and the marriage bed undefiled [by immorality or by any sexual sin]; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 For this is the will of God, that you be sanctified [separated and set apart from sin]: that you abstain and back away from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor.Hebrews 10:22 “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body. WHY did God create sex?: 1 Oneness: 2 Multiplication: 3 Pleasure:God’s plan for sex is that married heterosexual couples would be joined together through the act of sex, committing their lives to one another in the same way that Christ committed His life to the church, and in the process they would bare and raise a new generation of Christ followers all while fulfilling the sexual needs of one another in the most satisfying kind of way! What Chick-Fil-A Taught us about sex:1. They value our pleasure.1 Corinthians 7:2-6 The marriage bed must be a place of mutuality—the husband seeking to satisfy his wife, the wife seeking to satisfy her husband. Marriage is not a place to “stand up for your rights.” Marriage is a decision to serve the other, whether in bed or out.2. They Value Feedback.3. They Are Always a Good Decision4. They aren’t afraid to spice things up5. They Keep It Clean. “Watching porn with your spouse is a sin, a revolting sin. Revolting because it blasphemes christ as if he needed sin to help him love his bride, because it celebrates the sickness and sin of the pornography industry, and because it insults the preciousness of a wife’s heart and body by the one above ALL others who should cherish and nourish her soul” - John Piper6. They are closed on SundaysMarried couples who have a consistent sex life experience more happiness together. They deal with less stress, are in a better mood with fewer mood swings, sleep better, have a higher self-image, have a stronger immune system, experience less emotional pain and have less physical pain in their bodies. Homework:1. Married Couples, pick up some Chick-fil-a and have a feedback session with your spouse. Talk about what’s working and what’s not and come up with a plan for how you can have better sex more often! 2. Married Couples, if physically able, have sex at least 3 times this week!3. Parents, ask your kids if they have any questions about anything they have heard at school that was confusing to them. Let them know they can always come to you if they have any questions about anything!4. Singles, if you have sexual immorality in your past or present set aside time to repent, ask God to forgive you, and to help you walk in His will for your life.

Ep 200Suddenly - The Promise Of Suddenly

Suddenly - The Promise Of SuddenlyThe promise of suddenly. And here it is… I’m just gonna lay it out, so you know where I’m going… The promise of suddenly is… Jesus promises He will return suddenly.1. Jesus is coming again. Matthew 24:42 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. Matthew 24:44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”1 John 2:28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.“I am coming soon” greek = tachy = By surprise, suddenly.Revelation 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.Revelation 22:12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.”And then in:Revelation 22:20 “Yes, I am coming soon.” Jesus is coming again and when He returns it will be suddenly. 2. Live ReadyWe need to live ready.Mark 13:32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”Matthew 24:42 “Keep watch”Matthew 24:44 “Be ready”Mark 13:33 “Take heed, watch and pray” Take heed = to look at, gaze at, understand1. Do Jesus BusinessDo business until I return Luke 19:13 Acts 1:10-11They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? Ep 199Suddenly - The Problem With Suddenly

Suddenly Week 03 - The Problem With SuddenlyThe God of the Bible is a God of “suddenly’s.” “No Matter What” A delay doesn’t mean denial.Hebrews 12:12 Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on JesusGod is not an on demand God. Hebrews 6:12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Hebrews 10:35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:1. Find It2. Feed On It 3. Act Based On It4. Fulfill All The Necessary ConditionsGod is not a respecter of persons but He is a respecter of conditions. #1 Worship Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth 1. Ep 198Suddenly - The Peace Of Suddenly

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] His peace was a heart untroubled and unfearful in spite of all the suffering and conflict ahead of him.As oxymoronic as it sounds that we have to FIGHT for PEACE. Ephesians 6:12 We’re not waging war against enemies of flesh and blood alone. No, this fight is against tyrants, against authorities, against supernatural powers and demon princes that slither in the darkness of this world, and against wicked spiritual armies that lurk about in heavenly places.Acts 16:16-18 One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit that enabled her to tell the future. She earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.” This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.Acts 16:18 This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her. What are you allowing to follow you around day after day and is it something you want to be associated with as a believer? “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.”Luke 10:17-19 “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. (FOOTBALL REFEREE PICTURE)Our authority does not come from a formulated phrase. Acts 19:13-16 A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered. If you want to use your God-given authority, you must be under God's feet.He is not asking for our opinions, He is asking for our obedience. You is kindYou is smartYou is importantBut you is not God1 Samuel 15:23 “For rebellion is as [serious as] the sin of divination (fortune-telling), And disobedience is as [serious as] false religion and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you as king.”Because you said NO to God’s command, he says NO to your kingship. Rebellion causes God to say no to your kingship.
