Moses refused to compromise for fleeting pleasure.He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. Sin has its moments. But the moments are momentary. Better to lean into daily moments of suffering with Christ by choosing ultimate over immediate than to stuff suffering into a closet until it’s so full it comes spilling out all over your life and the lives of those closest to you. 1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]!
