In Mark Chapter 1, the theme for the day focuses on the authority and power of Jesus Christ over evil and demonic forces. As "The Exorcist," Jesus demonstrates his dominion over impure spirits, showing that He is Lord and Master over all forms of evil.

This chapter describes the resurrection of Jesus Christ, beginning with Mary Magdalene and the other Mary visiting the tomb and finding it empty. An angel informs them that Jesus has risen, as he promised.

This chapter recounts the final events leading to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Beginning with Judas Iscariot's remorse and subsequent suicide, the narrative moves to Jesus' trial before Pilate, where despite knowing Jesus is innocent, Pilate succumbs to the crowd's demand for crucifixion.

Jesus enters Jerusalem, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies, notably from Zechariah 9:9, as he rides humbly on a donkey, symbolizing peace.

These chapters address the serious issue of wealth and its potential to become a barrier to following Jesus. The story of the rich young ruler illustrates the struggle between earthly riches and eternal life.

John the Baptist emerges as a herald in the wilderness, calling people to repentance because the kingdom of heaven is near. John's ascetic lifestyle and baptisms in the Jordan River signal the impending arrival of Jesus, the Messiah.

The chapter recounts the visit of the Magi, wise men from the East who followed a miraculous star to Bethlehem to worship Jesus, the newborn "star" or important figure prophesied to be the Savior.
