Ep 83LAB-83-Biker Gripper Cell Phone, GPS, Radar Detector, & EFI Tuner Motorcycle Mounting Solution | Absolutely Nothing Better!
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-The Biker Gripper is absolutely the best cell phone/smartphone, GPS, EFI Tuner, and radar detector mounting solution on the market. We here at Law Abiding Biker™ Podcast & Media tested it for a long period of time, over thousands of miles, on different bikes, Mounted it in different positions, and while holding different devices. Believe it when I say your device will not come out of the 18 lbs of grip strength the Biker Gripper provides. Over several years the Biker Gripper went through a couple violent motorcycle crashes here at Law Abiding Biker™. First was my high side crash on my 2011 Harley Davidson Street Glide in Oregon. Yup, a complete high side after getting squirley in some gravel around a corner. My Harley was nearly totaled and laying on it's side. My iPhone did not move and was still secured and untouched in the Biker Gripper! That was my first thought that we should put our logo on this thing and sell it in our own store to bikers who want the best. I totally believe the good Lord was watching over me when I high sided and it was a lower speed. I was flung like Superman into some soft powder type dirt just past the shoulder of the road! I had no real injuries to speak of. Next, Chewy was riding two up with his wife on the back of his 2013 Harley Davidson Street Glide and slid low side. The bike slid away from them and violently smashed into a guard rail. The bike hit the guard rail so hard that it stood back up and traveled another 50' or so along the guard rail before falling over again. It hit the guard rail so hard that one of his saddlebags exploded so to speak & the bike was just shy of being totaled with a bent frame. Chewy and his wife had road rash, but other than that they got out of it okay. Yup, you guessed it-in the Biker Gripper was his iPhone 6 Plus completely untouched! Now, I love the Biker Gripper, but I never imagined that it would stay in on such a violent crash, so it even surprised me. We trust the Biker Gripper so much that we put our own Law Abiding Biker logo on it and our stamp of approval. It is truly biker tested and we carry it exclusively in the Law Abiding Biker Store. It is the sexiest, sleekest, and strongest cell phone motorcycle mount on the market. Don't settle for all the cheap ugly cell phone motorcycle mounts on the internet, eBay, and Amazon. If you want the best then the Biker Gripper Cell Phone, GPS, Radar Detector, and EFI Tuner motorcycle mount is for you! You really need to listen in to this Podcast episode to hear the stories and get all the information. Ep 82LAB-82-2015 Harley Road Glide Dealership Purchase Process-Lurch gets a new bike!
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST & VIDEO-In this video Lurch and I ride to the Rattlesnake Mountain Harley-Davidson dealership at 3305 W 19th Ave, Kennewick, WA 99338. Lurch has a plan to trade in his 2008 Harley Street Glide for a 2015 Harley Road Glide Special. Although I have always personally liked the look of the batwing style fairing on the Street Glide models, Harley has re-designed the shark nose fairing on the 2015 Road Glide models and I like the new look much better. Lurch and his 2015 Road Glide Lurch is 6 foot 6 inches tall, so because of the fixed fairing (does not turn with the handlebars) we will be able to install 13" ape handlebars and push them forward farther. This will give Lurch a more stretched out and comfortable riding position. The bars can not be pushed as far forward on the Street Glide, because of the different fairing that turns with the bars. •Check out our #1 rated Harley Handlebar Install Videos-Fairing and non-fairing videos available! Further Information: VIDEO & BLOG-In this video I had some time with a 2015 Harley Davidson Road Glide in what Harley is calling "mysterious red sunglo" & it is beautiful! Harley took 2014 off on producing the Road Glide, so I was excited to check this bike out! I shot some awesome video and photographed the bike. There is also the Road Glide Special for 2015, which is essentially the same bike, but comes with some extra goodies. The special comes standard with the upgraded larger 6.5 inch touch screen version of the new "Boom!™ Box" infotainment/GPS system, a security system, and Premium low hand-adjustable rear suspension, which I like much better from experience in riding with both. Here is a free video & information I released on how to properly adjust the low hand adjustable rear suspension. The special also comes with a finished off shiny black painted inner dash instead of the matte black finish on the standard model. Note that the larger 6.5-inch touch-screen Boom!™ Box/GPS system is an option on the standard model. Harley-Davidson touring models first came out with the Boom!™ Box system in 2014 as part of Project Rushmore. Now, although the Boom!™ Box Infotainment System is pretty awesome, it does come with a fairly steep learning curve that has frustrated many Harley owners until now. In fact, most owners of the Boom!™ Box system have no idea about the hidden menus, bugs, issues, necessary software updates, mapping integration, nor the system's full overall capabilities. With my #1 viewed Harley-Davidson Boom!™ Box Infotainment System instructional videos I straighten that learning curve out for motorcyclists/bikers and relieve the stress. These videos have received rave reviews from the motorcycle/biker community and for that I thank you! Check out the #1 Viewed Harley-Davidson Boom!™ Box Instructional Videos Here! SEE PHOTO GALLERY The feature that most distinguishes the Road Glide from the other touring models is its fixed frame-mount "shark-nose" fairing and dual front headlights. The handlebars move inside the fairing, which stays put. On other touring models, such as the Street Glide, the handlebars move with the fairing and it is often called the "batwing" fairing. First seen on the 2014 touring models, the Road Glide now sports the upper fairing vent with a manual switch to shut it off in inclement weather. This vent is to minimize head buffeting by putting a curtain of air (wall) in front of you, forcing the oncoming air up and over your helmet while riding. My 2014 Street Glide special has this fairing vent and I have ridden a ton. My estimation is that it reduces head buffeting by 20-30 percent, so it is well worth it. In addition to the main upper vent are two vents to each side of the headlights, which are "Dual Reflector Daymaker LED" headlights. Harley says these headlights have significantly more spread and greater punch than standard headlights. Harley-Davidson is calling this new three-way air venting system the "triple splitstream vent". Because the fixed fairing sits way further forward from the rider than on other models, the two additional lower vents are designed to lift the airflow per Harley-Davidson. The dramatic reduction in head buffeting has not only improved rider comfort, but also the listening quality of the Boom!™ Box sound system. A new handlebar bend reduces rider reach by 5.5 inches, which improves long-range comfort. Revised hand controls (just like 2014 models) have improved ergonomics, and a pair of thumb joysticks helps control the Boom!™ Box Infotainment and navigation. The standard comes with air-adjustable twin rear shocks. Here is a free video & information I released on how to adjust these air type shocks. With the Rushmore Project Harley put the new hard injection-molded saddlebags, which are the same convenient easy-open units found on Harley's other touring models. The 2015 Road Glide standard comes with optional Reflex Linked Brakes with ABS, which I highly rec

Ep 81LAB-81-Vance & Hines Fuelpak 3 or Dynojet Power Vision EFI Tuner? What should you use?
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-Over the past months we here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media have installed a Vance & Hines Fuelpak 3 on my Harley Davidson and a Dynojet Power Vision on Oscar's Harley. Both are motorcycle electronic fuel injections (EFI) tuners and seemingly two of the most popular currently on the market. We realize there are many other EFI tuners on the market, but it takes time to properly install, film, evaluate, and review each tuner. We also have much experience with the Dynojet Power Commander V and Auto Tuner, which have been a staple in the motorcycle EFI industry for many years now. Remember that the first thing Harley Davidson owners usually do after purchase is put a new air intake and exhaust on their ride. It is a must to re-map your electronic fuel injection immediately after installing an air intake, exhaust, or both. Don't waste your money getting the stock Harley EFI re-map download at a dealership, as it is a one time canned EFI map & can cost over $250. A canned map is basically a pre-determined EFI map based on you particular air intake and pipes that has already been made. If you go with the Harley canned EFI map and you ever change anything down the road you will be back in the dealership paying another large sum of money for an EFI re-map. With the FP3 and Power Vision you can make as many changes as you want any time down the road should you decide to change things up. And you can get way more options than a canned map out of these devices. You can auto tune your EFI with the FP3 and Power Vision for more precise tuning as you ride your Harley. If you become very well versed and knowledgeable you can manually change individual values & more. In this episode we break everything down for the average day-to-day biker out there, so you really need to listen in for all the information and facts about these motorcycle EFI tuners. Both units have their pros and cons and in the end it will depend on what needs and expectations you have. We are bikers just like you, which is why we can break it down to a level that makes sense. Ep 80LAB-80-Pere Margalef Official Podcast Interview-The Bike Shield App
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode I interview Pere Margalef, who is the CEO of The Bike Shield App. It is an app created to help protect bikers, motorcyclists, & bicyclists from common collisions & to make other motorists aware of these modes of transportation around them. Pere is a mechanical engineer full time and this is a passion project for him on the side as you will learn in this interview. The Bike Shield App is available for IOS and Android and is free. More can be found at their official website: www.thebikeshieldapp.com We spoke heavily of the Bike Shield App on Law Abiding Biker Podcast Episode #76, so take a listen. After that episode aired, Pere got ahold of us and wanted to do an interview. You must listen into this interview as it is jam packed with useful information that has never been heard before. It is a complete behind the scenes look at The Bike Shield App, the team, and it's future. The way the app works is that a driver of a car and a rider on a motorcycle both have to have the app installed and running. The driver of a car is then alerted when within a certain distance of a motorcycle or bicycle, warning them to be on the lookout. Remember, drivers of cars have blind spots and may not see a motorcycle, so the alert would be very helpful. The app has other functionalities such as an users map, which lets you visualize other users around you to establish safe routes. I learned Pere is a biker and currently rides a motorcycle and resides in the Los Angeles, CA area. He moved to Los Angeles about ten years ago from Barcelona, Spain. He came up with the idea for the app when he had a close call while riding his motorcycle in traffic. He has invested much money and time into developing this app to make us all safer and now has a small team working with him to further develop it. That is when the real testing started and they are learning what works and what doesn't. They are planning on releasing new versions as the app is worked on behind the scenes. They are working on new algorithms for things such as how often the alert sounds when multiple bikers are in a small area. There is some super exciting stuff in the works and Pere reveals it all in this interview. They have developed the APIs to open their Bike-to-Vehicle (B2V) communication channels to other road apps. That includes apps for bicyclists, bikers and car drivers and that is the direction and future of the app. Working with car manufacturers to have it built in standard to on board infotainment and navigation systems will be crucial. We spoke about the Harley Davidson Boom Box Infotainment system that is standard on touring models now and what a great fit that would be. Don't forget to check out our #1 rated Boom!™ Box Infotainment System Tutorial Videos! There are some great developments with the app such as the recently launched program MiBici from Guadalajara (Mexico), which is the World's first program to incorporate the BikeShield in its own app, becoming the first World's bike share program with a B2V system. It is expected that by the end of the year, the program will have 20,000 users. They are also in conversations with Mexico City, Barcelona and Santiago de Chile. They want to do the same in your city. What is The Bike Shield App: (directly from their website) All good things take time and we certainly support the continued development of this platform. It could definitely be great for bikers if wide acceptance and use happens. We know it is the early stages and we will follow along. Having observed many injury and fatality motorcycle collisions I fully support the Bike Shield App. Pere says the best thing that bikers can do is telling your family and friends about the app. And to give them feedback, suggestions and critiques of the app as it moves forward in development and implementation. Ep 79LAB-79-Kristin Casey Racing Official Podcast Interview-The Real Story
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode we talk in-depth with Kristin Casey, who is a female sports biker racer. Sports bike racing is dominated by males, but that doesn't stop Kristin and she is right in the thick of it. It seems nothing is going to stop her from taking her racing to the next level. Yep, even while competing against male racers. You won't find another podcast interview of Kristin Casey like this one, so you must listen in. We truly had a great time talking with her. Kristin is extremely passionate about sports bike racing even after a crash in 2011 caused from mechanical failure in which she nearly had to have her right leg amputated. That put her out for over 3 years and she has been back at it in the last year. Her father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in May 2013 with less than a year to live diagnosis and passed on in May 2014. He was an avid Harley Davidson owner and rider and was a big part of Kristin's life. She speaks of the day she came home on a "sports bike", which he was not fond of. He used to go to the track with Kristin and was not immediately sold on her passions for sports bike racing, yet he still supported her. After her crash, recovery, and her father being diagnosed with cancer she knew she needed to get back into racing. It wasn't too long ago that she was involved in a second large accident while racing, but her bike took the majority of damage this time and not her body so much. Here is a line taken from her bio on her website: www.kristincaseyracing.com/about I have physically and mentally become stronger than ever and feel truly alive when on the race track. My mother now comes to races and helps out in the pits. We are planning for success with dad watching over us we plan to travel together and compete a full season of racing and many more to come. Even competitors help each other out while at the track. They help each other with parts and working on each other's motorcycles. She was on the receiving end of this generosity after her most recent crash and her bike was back up and running because of the community in no time. Some helped with labor and some with parts. I learned from Kristin that true desire and passion are the only things that will get you into the sports bike racing scene. Kristin works a full-time job and with the help of her mother they pretty much run all aspects of her racing endeavors. On the weekends it is off to the race track to keep moving forward and earning points to advance her racing to the next level. Sponsorships are scarce at the entry-level, but she has managed to obtain a few to help out with the gear she needs to race. There is nobody paying Kristin to race and most the money comes out of her own pockets. She and her mother pull their toy hauler/trailer home that they fixed up to race weekends. Kristin talks about some of the tight deadlines and processes that are a part of racing sports bikes. She and her mother have a routine and understanding worked out, so they can make certain Kristin gets into the races she needs to. There is a whole bunch more behind the scenes of sports bike racing than meets the eyes and Kristin helps us understand. Kristin has a website that you can visit at www.KristinCaseyRacing.com. You can also link up with her social media channels. Kristin has recently teamed up with a social media entity to get her name & brand out there more. Like all sports, promotion is a big part of sports bike racing and which sponsors you can land. Ep 78LAB-78-Waco, Texas Criminal Biker Gang Shooting-The Truths
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-The opening song, "Biker Campfire" by Steve Werner (iTunes Link), is the way bikers are supposed to treat each other. We here at Law Abiding Biker consider other bikers friends we have not yet met. It's as simple as that wave you extend when you pass another biker on the road. Let's all practice that kindness and acceptance and continue the Law Abiding Biker Revolution. We are the motorcycling majority and are in charge of the true motorcycle scene. Tragically, sometimes bikers forget why they started riding motorcycles in the first place and get caught up in a dead end criminal lifestyle. Our respects go to anyone that lost their lives in the Waco, TX Biker Shootings on Sunday May 17, 2015 and to their families. We do not have all the facts and of course we consider the 9 deaths tragic. By talking about what things are known on this Podcast, in no way do we promote or celebrate any deaths that occurred. Additionally, in no way by airing this episode do we condone any criminal behavior by any criminal motorcycle gangs. Motorcycle club names are only mentioned to properly depict the scene & events that are known. By discussing this incident we hope bikers can learn or take away something valuable. Many news organizations have reported on the incident, but few have any insight into this subculture like we do. The traditional media has reported many absurd things that we hope to correct. We are here to bring to light the facts and the truths, however limited they may be at this time. Article: On Sunday May 17, 2015 at about 12:15 pm a criminal biker gang shooting at the Twin Peaks Restaurant in Waco, Texas left at least nine people dead, 18 hospitalized and at least 170 were arrested and charged. Exact details are lacking and a large scale police investigation into the incident is being conducted. We are reporting on information coming in from various sources. Remember that 99% of all bikers/motorcyclists are good hardworking people with a passion for riding. The bikers involved here are thugs and make up less than 1% of the motorcycling population out on the road. They call themselves 1%ers and bear patches to identify them as such. Police had been concerned with the bikers' presence at Twin Peaks for several months. The restaurant hosted special events for bikers and unfortunately allowed criminal biker gangs to also attend. The biker gang members who began beating, stabbing and shooting each other knew the police were patrolling outside. "There were at least three rival gang groups here this morning for whatever reason. As they were here, we had officers on scene. We expected issues," said Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton. He later said there were at least five gangs. Swanton expressed anger at Twin Peaks, which he claims had been less than helpful in dealing with gangs in the past. "Are we frustrated? Sure. Because we feel like there may have been more that could have been done by a business to prevent this," he said. The United Clubs of Waco billed Sunday's event as the Texas Region 1 Confederation of Clubs and Independents meeting. The Confederation of Clubs (COC) is not recognized by law abiding bikers, the motorcycling majority, and has no authority of any kind. Only some criminal biker gangs recognize them as some sort of entity that promotes communication between rival biker gangs. That communication does not work and has never worked and this melee is evidence of such. The COC is about power, money and intimidation just like all criminal biker gangs. Further, there is some ridiculous code that at these sanctioned meets that rival biker gangs are supposed to put their differences aside for a bit. Criminal bikers can't grow up for a day as seen and it shows the COC is a complete failure. An altercation apparently started in a bathroom. Shots were fired inside the eatery and a brawl spilled onto the patio area, before scores of criminal bikers flooded the parking lot in broad daylight. Some criminal bikers were beaten with brass knuckles, clubs and chains, while others were stabbed or shot, Swanton said. There was clearly no concern for innocent lives and bystanders by these criminal bikers. Police responded within 30 to 45 seconds because of their proximity and the criminal bikers turned their weapons on law enforcement, he said. "Our officers took fire and responded appropriately, returning fire," the sergeant said. Swanton called it "the most violent and gruesome scene that I have dealt with" in three and a half decades of law enforcement. Before the restaurant and surrounding parking lots became a bloody battleground, the Waco Police Department had 18 officers on the scene, including an assistant chief and tactical officers, along with four officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Swanton said. No officers were hurt, Swanton said, praising their response. As police rounded up suspects and paramedics tended to the injured, inves
Ep 77LAB-77-Aftermarket Handlebar Installs on Harley Davidson's-Everything You Need to Know
EOfficial website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode we discuss in depth everything you need to know about installing aftermarket handlebars on your Harley Davison motorcycle. That means everything from drag bars, to mini ape hangers, to tall ape hangers. We filmed multiple Harley handlebar install tutorials in the Law Abiding Biker Garage that walk you through this process step by step. That's right, videos by bikers for bikers. Bikers all over the world are saving money and not taking their Harley Davidson to a dealership or other mechanic to do a handlebar install. The fact of the matter is that with our videos you can do it right in your garage, shop, or patio right on the kickstand. We have you covered whether you have a Harley with a fairing or without a fairing. It doesn't matter if you have the same exact Harley year or model that we used in our videos. Harley has kept things basically the same as far as handlebars and simple wiring harnesses over the years. Official Harley Handlebar DIY Install Videos •Get Our #1 Rated Harley Davidson Handlebar Install Videos Here Don't get stressed or too concerned about wiring during your handlebar install. We talk about the different handlebars, wiring kits, and methods of installing handlebars. We have done many handlebar installs on Harley Davidson motorcycles over many years and all that experience went into our tutorial videos of course. As you listen in to this podcast episode you will learn everything you need to know before you purchase handlebars, a wiring kit, or brake or clutch cables/lines. We go over whether or not you need to extend clutch cables/lines or brake cable lines depending on the height of the handlebars you plan on installing. In our videos we show you how to extend a hydraulic clutch line and a cable clutch line depending on your specific needs. If you are installing handlebars then NOW is the best time to install heated grips on your Harley. (one of the best things I ever did) •Get Our #1 Rated Harley Davidson Brand Heated Grip Install Video Here We talk about wiring in depth in this episode and break down the wiring kits that are available and how they work. There are multiple companies selling what they call "quick plug & play" wiring kits and they are really all the same. At the end of the day you are just extending your control cluster wiring harnesses on both handlebars and the throttle by wire if you have an electronic throttle. Some may believe this is complicated, but in our videos we make it painless and it is. Harley kept the handlebar OEM wiring basically the same over the different years and models, so don't get caught up if in our videos we use a different year or model. It is as easy as the differences between a fairing model and a model without a fairing. Don't make it any more complicated than that. Pick the video that is right for your project. We even go over the very few basic tools you will need to have on hand and talk about the benefits of soldering instead of using quick connect kits. Yah, we even show you how to properly solder in our videos in case you want to go that route. You really need to listen into this episode to get all the facts and details. If you have been wanting to know more about installing handlebars on your Harley Davidson then this episode is for you & you won't find better more thorough information than right here. Ep 76LAB-76-The Bike Shield App-Is it Helping Bikers/Motorcyclists? A Complete Review
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-So we caught wind of a company working on a smartphone app to help protect bikers/motorcyclists from common collisions & to make other motorists aware of motorcycles around them. The app is called The Bike Shield App and it is available for free on both IOS and Android devices. We break it down for you in this podcast episode and what our initial thoughts are. Is the app beneficial for bikers? Do we see the app taking off? What can be done to help push the app along and into the hands of more bikers and motorists? These are just a few of the questions we answer, so listen in now. The Bike Shield App has an official website with information at www.thebikeshieldapp.com and there are also several YouTube videos describing the app. TDG Company CEO Pere Margalef dreamt up the app, but it fell short of it's Indiegogo crowd funding goal of $25,000 and ended on March 30, 2015 raising only $9,179. It appears the company is still moving forward with development. We are uncertain how close a motorcycle rider with the app running actually has to be to the driver of a car before the alert will happen. This will certainly need to be a consideration in development, because in larger cities it might sound all the time, confusing motorists or making them even avoid using the app. In our testing we found that because location services are active when running the app it is a huge drain on the battery and in fact the phone gets very hot while working. This app drains my iPhone 6 plus' battery quicker than any other app I have. You would definitely need to have your phone plugged in to run this app for any length of time at this point, which could be a problem for many bikers. We did test the app sitting near each other during the podcast in the studio, one of us being a car and one being a motorcycle and we did get alerts. The phone vibrates and has an audible motorcycle sound and bell sound for a bicyclist. We drove around multiple days in different areas in a car during busy traffic times and not once did we receive an actual alert even when we saw motorcycles. That is to be expected, as getting the word out and actually having other drives and motorcyclists have the app installed and running will be a huge hurdle for the company in our opinion, but we encourage them for certain. Check out our COMPLETE REVIEW It sounds like the company is working with City Government in San Francisco to partner with city bike share programs, to be built into the bike share app and running on city buses. We also feel the company will need to try to get car manufacturers on board to have the app possibly built into the integrated GPS and entertainment type systems. Many 2014 and newer Harley Davidson motorcycles come with the built-in Boom!™ Box infotainment system and we feel the app would be a great addition for sure. Harman Kardon makes the Boom Box system for Harley Davidson. Don't forget to check out our #1 rated Boom!™ Box Infotainment System Tutorial Videos! All good things take time and we certainly support the continued development of this platform. It could definitely be great for bikers if wide acceptance and use happens. We know it is the early stages and we will follow along. Having observed many injury and fatality motorcycle collisions I fully support the Bike Shield App. You can go to The Bike Shield App website to see how you can support them & follow their progress if interested. Ep 74LAB-74-2015 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special Touring Model-Everything You Need to Know
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Podcast-Jake here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media purchased a brand new Harley Davidson Street Glide Special (FLHXS) in early April of 2015 from a local Harley Davidson dealership. He traded in his 2012 Road King to make this purchase. I wanted to put this podcast & article out for our entire Law Abiding Biker Community or anyone else who may be considering purchasing this motorcycle. Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Infotainment System! 3 Must See videos on everything you need to know on how to operate the new Boom!™ Box Infotainment System. Don't be frustrated, I will show you how. TUTORIAL VIDEO-Complete Harley Davidson "Boom Box" Infotainment System GPS Stereo Tutorial TUTORIAL VIDEO-Harley Davidson Boom Box Infotainment Software & Map Update Tutorial TUTORIAL VIDEO-Complete Harley Davidson Ride Planner & GPS Guide He ended purchasing the vivid black colored model, which costs less than a model with other custom colors. The 2015 Street Glide Special sports the air cooled 103" cu in V-Twin High Output Motor (1690 cc). There is also an integrated oil cooler. This 103 cu in V-Twin now comes stock with the 255 cam kit already installed. The 255 cam offers substantial increase in low-end torque. He has has been very impressed with the performance of this motor and it is a runner for sure. It is awesome to have that extra power at take off and when passing for certain. This bike really gets up and goes and feels extremely smooth. The 2015 Street Glide Special comes stock with a hydraulic clutch, 6 speed Cruise Drive transmission, of course the 6 gallon fuel tank, and the bike weighs in at 818 lbs. The motor has Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI). The engine is said to get around 42 miles per gallon combined city/highway and we have found that to be accurate. The 2015 Street Glide Special sports beautiful stock black Enforcer Cast Aluminum wheels on front and back. The front wheel is 19 inches and has a Dunlop D408F 130/60B19 tire, while the rear wheel is 16 inches and has a Dunlop D407T 180/65B16. The tires handle well and you can drag floorboards all day long around corners! The gauges on the dash now run along the top, making room for the 6" touch screen Boom Box Infotainment System below. Check out our #1 Ranked Boom Box Tutorial Video!. The system is pretty awesome, but there is a rather steep learning curve. We teach you everything you need to know on how to operate the new system and how to keep your software up to date, which is critical. The speedometer and tachometer are 10% larger and have 68% wider numbers. It has a 28% larger fuel and volt gauge with 30% wider numbers. The display features odometer, trip A, trip B, range to empty, and gear indicator. All the gauges are beautifully backlit. On the left handlebar controls on top is a trigger switch (odometer, trip A, trip B, and range to empty). Also on the left handlebar controls is a switch to operate voice commands via a headset to the Boom Box Infotainment System. The cruise control is now solely operated by a joystick and has been moved to the left handlebar controls. Now you can rock the throttle back with your right hand and set the cruise with your left. This was a very nice change. On the right handlebar controls is an information switch to display ambient temperature, oil pressure and whether your engine idle temperature management system (EITMS) is enabled. This is all displayed on the large 6" Boom Box Infotainment System Screen. These are all new ergonomic hand controls and include joysticks on each side to control all the functions of the Boom Box Infotainment System and cruise control. I can tell you that everything to operate the electronics is right at your fingertips and feels great! The inside of the fairing is beautiful on the 2014 Street Glide Special and is painted in an eye catching gloss black finish. This really completes the inside of fairing and makes it stand out. Of course the new front fairing vent or "wind tunnel" is a huge new addition to the 2014 Street Glide Special. You can close the vent by a large button on the upper left inside of the fairing. This new vent is placed there to reduce head buffeting, which it does. Essentially the air rushes through the fairing vent and shoots a wall of air straight up in front of you in order to slow the oncoming air. This is my assessment of how it operates. I have tested this vent "wind tunnel" in all different conditions and at many different speeds. My personal estimation is that it reduces head buffering by about 25-30%. The only time I can see that I would close the vent is during extremely heavy rains or hail. I have opened it and closed on very cold mornings and nights and it does not seem to matter. The only downfall to the new fairing vent is that you would not want to install inside fairing storage pouches on your dash, as it would block the wind tunnel, but I believe the trade off is well worth it. The FLHXS comes
Ep 73LAB-73-Harley Davidson Twin Cam Chain Tensioner Problem 1999-2006 | Are Other Years Affected?
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com LAB-73-Harley Davidson Twin Cam Chain Tensioner Problem 1999-2006 | Are Other Years Affected? Podcast-In this episode we break down the issue of problems with pre 2006 Dyna's & 1999-2006 spring loaded cam chain followers in Harley Davidson twin cam motors. The chain tensioning system in these motors uses plastic "shoes" riding on the cam chains that wear out. We here at Law Abiding Biker all agree that there is no real concern with the newer post 2006 motors and is limited to the years stated. Although we are pro Harley Davidson, this was a complete design failure and the company should have done a better job taking care of owners of the affected years in our opinion. You really need to listen in to this podcast episode to get all the facts and information. Harley damaged cam chain tensioner Harley damaged cam chain tensioner What is happening on the affected years? The plastic spring loaded cam chain follower fails & it shreds plastic material that fouls the rotary gear oil pump cutting off oil flow to the engine. The problem is that many are experiencing failures at many different mileages, so it is hard to predict. Additionally, riders likely will not hear anything going wrong. The only way to check the status of your cam chain followers is to dig in and inspect them. If you are going to be in there for that then we suggest to just fix the problem permanently & we will tell you how. What did Harley do to fix the problem on the newer motors? On the 2007 and later motors, hydraulic cam chain followers are now used to get rid of the stiff spring that put too much pressure on the followers rubbing on the cam chain. Some believe that the problem still exists even with the new hydraulic cam chain followers, but we are not seeing that at all. Our opinion is that if you have an affected model that you take action as soon as you can and avoid the impending problem all together since you can't predict when it will happen. S&S Cycle Complete Gear Drive 510G Camshaft Kit S&S Cycle Complete Gear Drive 510G Camshaft Kit The Fix #1 (Our 1st Choice): Our suggestion is for you to get rid of the chain system entirely and switch to gear driven cams for the listed years. There are companies making aftermarket kits for this and without labor they cost around $750. The best thing is that you will get upgraded cams on top of the rest of the upgrade kit, thus more performance. If you appreciate this Free content consider using our 2 Wheel Parts Supply Affiliate Link to purchase any of these kits (S&S Cycle Complete Gear Drive 510G Camshaft Kit) & help support us. Screamin' Eagle Hydraulic Cam Chain Tensioner Plate Upgrade Kit Harley Davidson upgrade/fix kit The Fix #2 (Our 2nd Choice): Harley Davidson also sells an upgrade/fix kit for around $499 (example) without labor costs. Again, we believe that Harley Davidson should not be selling a "fix it" kit when it was their design problem in the first place, but it is what you may be stuck with. This HD kit does not change it to a gear driven system & you don't get upgraded cams. Instead, it comes with hydraulic cam chain tensioner and high-flow oil pump. Harley says that the high-flow oil pump provides increased oil pressure at high-operating temperatures. It changes the chain tensioner from spring to hydraulic. This is the standard fix that Harley dealerships will give you unless you want to go with the gear driven system and cams, which is again our first suggestion depending on you budget of course. Harley Cam Gear Chain Replacement Complete Gear Drive Kit Picture (installed) Harley Cam Chain Tensioner back side Harley cam chain tensioner (twin cam)(backside) Email that spawned this episode: Subject: Plastic Shoes with cam chains Marc Littell of East Tennessee First just wanted to say thanks for the great content you guys put out. I commute a couple hours to work on an airplane and the Law Abiding Biker Podcast is always playing. I am new to Harley's, I've had a few older metrics and always have had dirt bikes, and the service video was great inspiration in completing the service. It really is simple to complete after watching you guys tackle it on the video. I have read about a potential problem with the plastic shoes associated with the cam chains. Do you have any info on this issue? This is a small quote from an article on JP Cycles. "The problem is the design of the cam chain system. It uses plastic "shoes" riding on the cam chains that can (and do) wear out. Harley has made some changes in later model bikes, but even with the new hydraulic tensioning system, it is not a true fix." EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode we dive deep into the History Channel's new 6 part television series Gangland Undercover, which premiered on February 24, 2015. As a law abiding biker/motorcyclists you may be wondering whether or not you should dive in and watch this television series? We break it down for you and whether you should spend your time doing so. We separate fact from fiction, so you have the right mindset going into the television series, so listen in on this one! This Gangland Undercover drama series is a fictionalized retelling of the story of meth dealer-turned-ATF informant Charles Falco, who spent three years inside one of America's most dangerous motorcycle gangs, the Vagos. "Gangland Undercover" documents the lives of outlaw bikers, who live in a world in which respect is earned through fear. The series is based on Falco's memoir, "Vagos, Mongols, and Outlaws," and documented historical research of gang rivalries. Even those that have never ridden a motorcycle have either heard of or watched the show themselves. The show has had a long lasting impact on many and we wanted to dive into and reminisce in this podcast episode. We have it packed with information and fun facts. There were many actors that appeared in the series each season, which aired from 1977-1983. Of course we all remember the main duo, Officer Jon Baker, played by Larry Wilcox, & Officer Frank Poncherello (Ponch), played by Erik Estrada. Sgt. Joseph Getraer played by Robert Pine was their direct supervisor on the show. Don't forget the beautiful Randi Oakes who played Officer Bonnie Clark. Ponch was the macho, rambunctious one and Jon washis straight-laced partner. The two didn't always see eye to eye on set, but have since reconciled. Each had their contract negotiation issues later in the series. Larry Wilcox actually did not return for the entire last season due to salary issues. Check out the Free Law Abiding Biker Podcast App! Ep 70LAB-70-Why You Should Have Officers, Leadership, & Structure in Your Motorcycle Biker Club PT. #2
EOfficial Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST & BLOGB-This is part two of a two part motorcycle club leadership podcast series. You really need to listen in on Episode 69 (Part 1) of the series to put this episode in context. Motorcycle biker clubs can operate in many different ways. Some are unorganized and lack leadership within. In a sense, and depending on your definition, that may not even be considered a true "motorcycle club", but more of a "riding group". In my years I have watched many motorcycle clubs and groups come and go and I can guarantee in most every case it was because of a lack of organization, structure, and leadership. With poor or no leadership there is no order or any reason for members to even have order. With that comes little groups & clicks within, lack of direction, lack of order, lack of pride, & lack of control. That will all erode a club or group's foundation in time. _____________________________________________________________ CHECK US OUT AND SUBSCRIBE: Website: http://www.LawAbidingBiker.com Email & Voicemail: http://www.LawAbidingBiker.com/Contact Phone Hotline: 509-731-3548 Twitter: https://twitter.com/LawAbidingBiker Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lawabidingbiker YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/scrappy587 Google Plus Page: https://plus.google.com/b/104041070580228657262/+Lawabidingbiker587 Instagram: http://instagram.com/lawabidingbiker RSS: feed://www.LawAbidingBiker.com/feed iTunes Direct Link to Podcast: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/law-abiding-biker-podcast/id622424087 Stitcher Radio: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/law-abiding-biker-podcast TuneIn Radio: http://tunein.com/radio/Law-Abiding-Biker-p562288/

With that comes little groups & clicks within, lack of direction, lack of order, lack of pride, & lack of control. That will all erode a club or group's foundation in time. I helped start and was the president of another larger motorcycle club chapter for many years. I also helped create and form the Sworn Few LEMC from the ground up, in which I am currently the Mother Chapter President. I can tell you, successful clubs that want very close knit long lasting brotherhood & success havea structured environment and leadership for an array of reasons. Overall, lack of leadership and structure will ultimately lead to problems that often times ends a club or groups existence. And that is a shame. What type of leadership & structure should my motorcycle club have? A traditional motorcycle club can have an array of positions, which can all have a varying degree of responsibility within the club structure. At minimum, a successful club should hold elections and have the membership elect a President, Vice President, Secretary, & Treasurer. Sergeant at Arms and Road Captains are very nice to have and can be elected or appointed. Bylaws will be of utmost importance, which will guide election protocols and term limits. Once a motorcycle club or group elects officers then very detailed bylaws should be written with input from all members. Bylaws should not be taken lightly and in the end may decide whether a club succeeds or fails. A Bylaw Committee within can be formed and oversee that process if necessary. Those bylaws must be voted on before they can go into effect as a rule of thumb. As a motorcycle club member do you give up your voice to change things within a club? Absolutely not, if the bylaws and structure of the club are formed properly at the very beginning. Leadership within a well organized club is never about who has power nor should it be. These leaders oversee and protect the club's reputation, performance, standards, and direction. Leaders within a motorcycle club are essentially conductors of what should be a smooth running operation. The power ultimately remains with the membership and that is the way your bylaws should be written form the start. For example, in the Sworn Few LEMC the president of a chapter only votes in the event of a tie between membership, which hardly ever happens. We are very proud of how we wrote our bylaws and it keeps any one person from having too much power or control in the club. Of course, there always needs to be some exceptions, such as in the event of emergencies, safety concerns, or a conflict which puts the clubs reputation, function, or order at immediate risk. Of course all those matters which are decided on the spot by a leader will still later be voted on by the true power, which is the membership. Hopefully, with proper member selection a leader never has to use that sort of authority. Remember the golden rule; the number of members should never be a priority, but instead quality of members and true brothers. The larger an organization is, the harder it is to keep it in order. There should not be a big stronghold of power by any one individual, to include the president. One of the main reasons for having structure and oversight is to make every effort to screen and only accept members that will not tarnish the tight brotherhood or cause problems. Screening possible members should be the absolute number one priority for leadership and members within a club. Gaining membership should take time and minimum prospecting times should always be followed, so nobody can ever be "fast tracked" into a club as a member. Gaining membership needs to be very strict and bylaws for selection should be in place. Many clubs fail, because they had a few bad members within and they failed to address the issue, thus they had a lack of le Wadership and order. One or two bad members can ruin years of trying to establish a brotherhood unless you have protections in place. I see too many large motorcycle clubs giving easy membership to members just to gain numbers. Their reputation, respect, and legitimacy within the law abiding biker community suffers. Nobody will ever be proud of their brotherhood if they either didn't start it or they never had to work to gain membership & wear that patches. When you earn something you become proud of it. What are some of the obvious reasons you should have elected leaders & structure in
Ep 68LAB-68-Sit, Stay, Ride Motorcycle Sidecar Dogs Documentary Film Interview With Creator Eric Ristau
Official Website; http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode I have the pleasure of interviewing Eric Ristau from Missoula, Montana. Eric and his wife Geneva are independent filmmakers. Their most recent film is called Sit Stay Ride and is a special story of America's motorcycle sidecar dogs and was about a year in the making. They started the film as a crowdfunding project on Kickstarter and it was quickly funded and went into production. It was clear many supported this sort of movie, which is a documentary film on motorcyclists and their dogs that ride in their motorcycle side cars. The movie is filmed in numerous states and riders from all walks of life are subjects of the documentary. The movie really captures the essence of both the freedom of riding a motorcycle along with the close relationships between man and dog. So, the movie will capture not only the attention of bikers & motorcyclists, but also that of avid dog lovers. Or anyone who wants to see a well put together documentary and be inspired about the simpler things in life. The best part is that 25% of the proceeds of this film will be donated to animal rescue organizations! The movie is available on DVD, Bluray, and it can also be purchased or rented to immediately stream and view. Additionally, you can also bring the movie to the big screen by hosting a screening in your area by going to Tugg.com Sit Stay Ride: The Story of America's Sidecar Dogs - Official Trailer from Ristau & Liimatta on Vimeo. Ep 67LAB-67-Motorcycle Lift Tables & What you Need to Know-Guest Ian Gilmore of Redline Engineering
Official Website; http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-We have created a new resource here at Law Abiding Biker™ Podcast & Media. There is now a page that has everything to do with motorcycle lift tables and jacks. We are reviewing, filming, and testing these lifts and jacks for all the bikaholics out there! The market is saturated with these things and it can be very hard to sift through. Yes, there is a lot of junk out there and some are even unsafe! In this podcast episode you will listen in as I actually talk with Ian Gilmore of Redline Engineering. I end up ordering the Titan 1000D motorcycle lift table and you get to hear the entire process! Ian has a ton of information about motorcycle lift tables and the industry in general. The market is saturated with motorcycle lift tables, jacks, & companies. It can be overwhelming when you start shopping for a lift. The last thing we want is for a biker/motorcyclist to spend their hard-earned money on a motorcycle lift table or jack only to get ripped off or treated badly by a company that doesn't care about them. Customer service is super important to us here and we will not give our money to any company that does not have the absolute best of customer service. There are just too many choices for me to put up with that. There are many things you need to be aware of when shopping for and purchasing a motorcycle lift table. There can be shipping complications that can leave you high and dry if you don't have the necessary facts, information, and procedures. That is exactly what this phone call is all about with Ian. Listen in and we can all get educated together. Ep 66LAB-66-Skully AR-1 Motorcycle Helmet vs. Harley Boom!™ Box Infotainment System
E"Official Website; http://www.lawabidingbiker.com " Skully AR-1 Helmet $1,499 PODCAST-In this episode we talk all about the new Skully AR-1 motorcycle smart helmet that can be ordered in matte black or gloss white, sizes small through XXL for $1, 499. And the San Francisco based company says they predict you will get the helmet into your hands in July of 2015. What is the hype with this new motorcycle helmet and is it right for you? Do you ride a sports bike, dual sport, or a cruiser? It does make a difference for many. Do you want more technology in your face? Or do you want to detach for a bit and feel the wind in your face? The Skully AR-1 smart helmet has a very small cube screen that sits off to the lower right of the rider's cheek inside the helmet. This cube heads up display screen sits behind the visor and is attached. The helmet has a fisheye style camera in the rear. A rider can glance over and to the right and see what is behind in the heads up display. At the same time the rider really doesn't have to take his eyes off the road in front of him. Additionally, the Skully AR-1 has integrated GPS with integrated speakers for turn by turn directions along with bluetooth capability to connect to your smartphone and listen to music. You can also talk on your bluetooth connected smartphone while riding your motorcycle. Things such as your speed can also be displayed in the heads up display. It is all finished off with a technology fighter pilots use to tint the visor with the push of a button. CEO of Skully Systems Marcus Weller's biggest selling point for the AR-1 is the ability to have situational awareness and keep line of sight on the road in front of you. The idea of the Skully helmet came to him after he was involved on a motorcycle collision when looking down at a GPS unit. He started it all off with a crowd funding campaign, which quickly grew. Marcus Weller will certainly have an immediate market for the AR-1 in the sports bike and dual sport motorcycle arena, however at $1,499 many of those riders won't make that huge financial leap either. They will stick with their current full face or modular helmet. It is going to be hard for the AR-1 to make an impact in the enormous cruiser motorcycle riding market. A majority of bikers on cruisers, especially Harley-Davidson, may not want this helmet nor give it a second look. Bikers like this want an open face helmet, the wind in their face and maybe even a detachment from some technology as they ride into the sunset with no thoughts or stresses. Harley-Davidson already has all this technology and more in the form of the awesome Boom!™ Box Infotainment System (in dash), but not in a helmet heads up display like the AR-1. Harley started outfitting touring models with the system in 2014 and continue to do so. The Harley Boom!™ Box system has integrated GPS with turn by turn voice guidance, bluetooth, wireless streaming music form your smartphone, the ability to receive phone calls, satellite radio capabilities, and more all on a gorgeous 6.5 inch touch screen display. You can hear you music through the large fairing speakers while riding at 70+ down the road. And still feel the wind in your face. Check out our #1 Best Selling Boom!™ Box Tutorial Videos! Of course this Boom!™ Box system comes stock now on new Harley touring models, so for most it is not reasonable to go out, spend an additional $1,499 on the Skully AR-1, and then basically let the Boom!™ Box system take a back seat. Of course the Boom!™ Box does not have a rear view camera, but that could be added by HD in the future & could even be seen on the very large touch screen display. The one thing that Skully definitely has over the the Boom!™ Box is the ability to use and operate the technology without having to take your eyes off the road. And for many that is the only selling point they need. There are more riders these days on cruiser style motorcycles wearing full faced helmets or those of us that wear them in cold or in-climate weather, so there will be some appeal in the cruiser style arena. I personally think the Skully AR-1 smart motorcycle helmet is pretty awesome, but I love technology and I definitely understand the safety benefits. I would love to have a Skully Ar-1 to check out and ride with on my 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special. For those that want to ride free and feel the wind in their face will likely stick to the Boom!™ Box or other built in units with their open face helmets. They may laugh at a smart helmet like the Skully. For a ton of motorcyclists the Skully is just another novelty item that is unobtainable, because of the steep price point. I do however see the prices coming down over time especially when Skully gets a run for their money and other manufacturers start cashing in on the new smart helmet craze. You really need to listen in on this Law Abiding Biker™ Podcast episode. We get so much deeper into this topic and everyone has an opinion. LD and Oscar w
Ep 65LAB-65-Iron Order Motorcycle Club-Official Podcast Interrogation-Part 2 of 2
EOFFICIAL WEBSITE: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-This is Part Two of a two part interview with Ray "Izod" Lubesky of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club. Izod was one of the founding members of the Iron Order MC, one of the "first eight", and the International President for many years. We dive deep into everything you need to know about this club. The Iron Order claims to be a law abiding club and I can find no credible evidence to the contrary. The Iron Order MC is not a Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club (LEMC) nor do they claim such. They do have law enforcement members along with many other walks of like. They don't claim criminal 1%er status and don't allow criminals in their club. Some in the law abiding biker world believe the Iron Order may be on the edge and have concerns about what they stand for and what they portray online. There are more risky images & activities online from this club compared to other law abiding biker clubs you see. There are actual Facebook pages and other media that are dedicated to bashing the Iron Order MC and I don't see that with other law abiding biker clubs. I ask the tough questions in this interview and Izod has some great answers that may just change your mind if you have any concerns. You will definitely want to listen in on both podcast episodes dedicated to this interview. You won't hear interviews like this on any other motorcycle/biker podcast out there. You've found the #1 listened to Biker Podcast in the world! The Iron Order is a very large international motorcycle club. Like all law abiding biker clubs should do, they refuse to follow the so called "Confederation of Clubs" (COC) unwritten rules, whom have no authority over free members of the motorcycling community. They have no authority over anyone unless you willfully let them control you. For the most part only the criminal biker community gives them any attention. Criminal bikers make up far less than 1% of all bikers/motorcyclists on the road. Because the Iron Order MC wears a three piece patch, is not an LE club, they are out there, they have many large club houses, and refuse to submit to ridiculous unwritten criminal biker code, they may draw extra attention from bashers in the criminal biker world that humorously think the motorcycling majority cares what they have to say. Don't forget, there are other large non LE clubs out there like the Iron Order in many ways. Don't ever be ruled by any unauthorized organization or body. Motorcycling is about freedom and that trumps on the very freedom of this great country and the open road. Part 1 of the interview (Episode #64) About the Iron Order MC (sent by Izod) The Iron Order MC was started by a few hardcore bikers in a garage on July 4, 2004. It is fitting that our club anniversary is celebrated on the same day as our great country's Independence Day since our club is totally independent and beholden to none, to follow our own destiny truly free from all other's rules and protocols. These bikers came from different backgrounds and walks of life. They had a desire to share brotherhood and socialize together as a group of men sharing a like mindset with an iron resolve to have a club of their own under no one's control or direction. That is how the IOMC was started and how it is today. This is the heritage of the IOMC. We refuse to be dictated to by anyone as to who we have as members, where we can have chapters, what we can wear, where we can go, or what we can do. We have learned many things about the MC world over the past years. We respect all clubs and support those that support us. We are independent and choose to mind our own business. We started that way and we continue that way. We run our club by the very same MC traditions established over 50 years ago by the motorcycle clubs. We are not 1%ers. We are not a HOG chapter or a riding club. We are a three piece patch MC. We have chapters in many states. We have a strong brotherhood between all chapters. We are independent therefore we do not belong to any associations. We have our own clubhouses, we have the same probationary and hang around traditions that MC's established many years ago and we stand together as brothers in our club. Those who ride with us, party with us, or know us, know we are bikers. Some have chosen a different road because we do not waiver from our core values. We ride, party and mind our own business. We do not create problems for our community or fellow bikers. We participate in charities that we feel benefit our communities and we support our own. We are veterans, active duty military, construction workers, truck drivers, businessmen, cops, Feds, cooks and any other occupation you can think of. We are about motorcycles, brotherhood and enjoying the biker lifestyle. Our own way by our own rules. We are what we say we are; nothing more or nothing less. If you are law abiding, desire strong brotherhood and riding a motorcycle is not a solo event, maybe we are for you. If yo

We loved the SOA series and have mostly good things to say about this completely fictional show about a criminal motorcycle/biker club. Many loyal viewers and listeners of this podcast found the series finale to be a bit anti-climatic and not necessarily written to expectations. It seemed rushed and left many things up in the air. Jax ends up tying more things up in preparation for his death. He advises Nero to take the boys to Norco, CA. He does not want them growing up in Charming and his death is to end a saga of bad family and life decisions over generations. Jax destroys all documents left behind by his deceased father John Teller. He also destroys his own journals and wants to leave nothing behind to be dredged up by anyone. He truly wants a better life for his young boys Abel and Thomas. Accompanying Nero and the boys to the farm will be Wendy, who is Jax's ex-wife, but they recently rekindled their relations. Get all the SOA DVD's (Amazon affiliate link) Sons of Anarchy DVD Set Jax received a Mayhem vote from the president's of other chapters that were selected to review the incident where Jax killed Jury, the President of the Indian Hills Chapter, after Jax thought he had ratted to the Chinese where SAMCRO was stashing their guns. Jax accepts this fate and it seems to be part of his overall plan. After accepting the Mayhem vote his only request was to have one old unwritten club bylaw changed. We learn that he wants each chapter to decide on whether to allow African Americans to patch in. Later, T.O., President of the Grim Bastards MC, is allowed to patch into SAMCRO, changing a long history in the club. We are still not sure why Jax did this other than to do something he saw as good before dying. Jax has a sit down with Chibs, one of the members he is closest to, and explains his plan to die. He wants to leave the club in good hands and for his boys to be free of the life. Chibs of course has a hard time swallowing this pill, but knows he must trust Jax's decision. We learn that the suspicious homeless women that has been seen for 7 seasons now is Jax's guardian angel, often in the form of a Raven. He meets her and she gives him the okay that it is time to put this plan into action. She gives him a blanket and we see a shot of her leaving a piece of partially eaten bread and some wine behind. This is clearly a play on Christianity where Jesus gives his disciples bread and wine as a symbol of his body and blood, which was given up to forgive the sins of man. Jax cleans up some business by killing Berosky in his bakery. Jax then sits on the steps of the courthouse as August Marks is released on bail. Jax has a blanket the guardian angel gave him draped over his head and looks not unlike the reaper. He flings the blanket off of him, stands up, and shoots August Marks ending his reign. Jax meets with SAMCRO on his father's old Harley. The old Harley has been being fixed up over the past few episodes and he finally gets to ride it. This is the same bike his father John Teller died on in a semi vs motorcycle collision many years ago. SAMCRO all vote for Mayhem on Jax by the design of Jax. It is not easy, but they all realize it is necessary. Of course they are so close to Jax and don't want the blood on their hands. In a dramatic scene to make it appear that Chibs will actually shoot Jax, instead Chibs shoots Happy in the arm. This is to make it look like Jax put up a struggle with them and got away. This will save shame from the other chapters by not following through with the execution. Jax hugs each and every member of SAMCRO in a sad goodbye scene. He rides away on his father's old Harley. An APB has been put out on Jax at this point, because he had met with DA Patterson earlier and told her where Gemma and Unser
Ep 63LAB-63-Justifiable Homicide Ruling for Biker in Jacksonville Beach, FL @ Nippers Beach Grille Shooting
EOFFICIAL WEBSITE; http://www.lawabidingbiker.com On June 26, 2014 at 8:00 PM innocent victim Kristopher Stone was forced to shoot criminal biker Zachariah Tipton after he and another Black Pistons member stalked him & then committed a brutal two on one gang style assault on him outside Nippers Beach Grille in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Based on the overwhelming evidence, the State Attorney stated that Stone was well within the law to defend his life from the brutal attack. Unlike other non credible blogs our there, we here at Law Abiding Biker Podcast & Media have remained fair and balanced on this matter and examined what evidence was slowly presented. No assumptions were made here & we were waiting for all the evidence, which has now been released by the State Attorney. There can be no more lies or ridiculous speculation and conspiracy theories. The evidence speaks so loudly as to exactly what happened that only the most ignorant persons would even try to argue. Look at the facts and evidence yourself based on the investigation and the truth will slap you in the face. There is recorded video surveillance of the stalking & entire brutal two on one gang style attack of victim Kristopher Stone. There are over 200 independent witnesses that were interviewed. I love the recorded video surveillance of the attack for its evidentiary value & it puts argument to rest for good. Read Official State Attorney's Release Here Based on the overwhelming evidence, here are the high points and FACTS of the incident: Zachariah Tipton was a criminal with a criminal record, which included a conviction for battery. He was a member of the Black Pistons criminal motorcycle gang, whom are a "puppet club" to the Outlaws criminal motorcycle gang. Tipton had alcohol and marijuana in his system. He had several knives and brass knuckles on his person along with an empty gun holster near his waist and 2 magazines filled with hollow point bullets. He purposely wore his helmet and gloves for the planned attack. Kristopher Stone is a prospective member of the Iron Order MC, which is a non criminal motorcycle club. He is a military vet and was a combat medic. He has no criminal record and was not drinking alcohol, but was only drinking water prior to the attack. He was not carrying any illegal weapons & only his concealed pistol in which he legally carried under the law. Stone was so scared for his life that he urinated himself during the brutal attack. Many of men have urinated during a fight or flight situation. I have even seen men defecate during intense fearful situations. Victim Kristopher Stone was simply standing near some motorcycles outside Nippers Beach Grille near another Iron Order prospective member minding his own business & completely unaware he was being stalked and would soon be brutally assaulted. It was still very light outside and numerous people were around. The recorded video is of great quality. Black Pistons member Zachariah Tipton is the last of a group of Black Piston members that all ride past the victim and park their motorcycles down the road. Tipton purposely leaves his helmet and gloves on and with other Black Piston members starts walking towards Stone's location. They use the cover of several parked automobiles and snake around them to try and sneak up on Stone. Tipton actually ducks into a breezeway for a moment during his secretive animal like approach. Two members snake around the front of victim Stone and Tipton comes up behind him. Stone was likely not aware Tipton is behind him. Without notice Tipton sucker punches the victim from behind and he goes to the ground. Tipton & the other Black Piston member begin brutally punching and kicking the victim while he is on the ground. It is two grown men beating the victim after sucker punching him. There are multiple other Black Piston members walking towards the assault. After about 10 seconds of being brutally assaulted victim Stone is able to get his pistol and shoot Tipton in the head, which immediately stops the assault and Stone is able to get Tipton off him. Black Piston members start running like scared children from the scene & in a panic leaving their so called "brother" behind to die alone. A couple Black Piston members return to Tipton's body for a moment and remove something from him. One of them removes his own vest and wraps the item in it and they leave. Once again leaving their so called "brother" alone. They obviously removed illegal contraband from his body and left with it. They are also seen removing mouth guards from there mouths. They had these in anticipation of the assault. Victim Stone knowing to have just shot someone and knows Police will have many questions does not want to be armed when they contact him for safety reasons. He has the other prospective member take very temporary custody of the pistol he used. He does not run from the scene and appropriately stays and fully cooperates with law enforcement's investigation. The pist

Make sure to bookmark our Live Page, as we will be live next Wednesday December 10, 2014 at 7:00 PM (PST). This will be one night after the season finale airs on FX Network. You absolutely won't want to miss this Live Podcast Episode. Don't worry, if you can't listen live we will be releasing the regular on demand podcast episode on iTunes, Stitcher Radio, TuneIn Radio etc. the following day as usual. We are going to have so much to say and the studio will be full. Lurch, Chewy, and Ryan Urlacher will be live and we hope to have one more mic hot that night. We will likely even have a giveaway! Here is a brief of what is going on and our predictions Everything Jax is doing this episode seems to be steering towards his acceptance that he is going to die. He has a leg ailment that we believe to be much more serious than is being let on. He may know that he is going to die and is using that as a reason to square everything away. He seems to be trying to get all the criminal street hustlers to agree on an ultimate takeover. However, he is leaving SAMCRO completely out of the mix. This is likely because since taking the presidency he has always wanted to get SAMCRO out of criminal activity. That is what his deceased father John Teller wanted and wrote in his secretive journals Jax has been reading. Jax seems at peace and often smiles even though he will likely die. The SOA presidents meet and Jax admits that he was wrong about Jury, President of the Indian Hills Chapter, being the snitch and in fact it was Charlie Berosky. Jax admits that he was caught up and lied to them & that he killed Jury. The presidents all know that based on this information a Mayhem vote to kill Jax is going to take place. Jax doesn't care and says for the best of the club he will make sure and have all his guys vote for his death. In return Jax wants them to remove and unwritten bylaw/rule, but we are not privileged to know what that is. Patreon DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A PATRON AND SUPPORT US? We believe Jax wants the unwritten rule removed, which is that SOA MC does not allow black members. Remember back that Jax asked the President of the black Grim Bastards MC if he would patch over (join SAMCRO) and who he would bring with him. The President of the Grim Bastards even told Jax that black members were not allowed and Jax told him, "not yet". We believe that the reason Jax wants this allowed is so before his death SAMCRO gains valuable new members and protection of the club. Many of us were so surprised that Jax actually pulled the trigger on Unser, but most importantly on Gemma, his mother. We think Jax knows that he is going to die, so he will not have to live with the fact that he killed his own mother who had betrayed him. You see, Jax may believe that only way he ends this senseless violence and lifestyle is to end both Gemma's life and his own. The only way to break the cycle is to make sure they don't exist. This may be the only way that his sons Abel and Thomas don't have to live the very life that both Jax and his father John Teller lived. With Gemma and he gone there will be nobody to introduce them further to this lifestyle of violence and murder Nero is already taking Wendy and the boys to the farm where he wants to retire from running the Biz Lat street gang. He wants out as bad as anyone and Jax encourages him to take Wendy and the boys. He thanks Nero for taking care of the boys. This further indicates that Jax is going to die and wants to leave the boys in the hands of Nero as a father figure. Wendy will of course be the mother figure. Jax ends up having intercourse with Wendy at the end of this episode. We believe that Wendy will become pregnant from this and have something to do with the series finale and we may get some glimpses into the future. Will Abel be seen at the head of the SAMCRO table as Chewy has predicted? We have a ton more predictions and insight into what is going on, but you really have to listen in to get into the know. Ep 62LAB-62-Can a Business Legally Refuse Service to Bikers Wearing Patches/Colors?
EOFFICIAL WEBSITE: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-Is it legal for private businesses to refuse service to members of the law abiding biker motorcycle clubs for simply wearing "colors", club affiliation patches worn on biker's vests? We have been asked this question many times here and recently received a voicemail asking this very question once again. You may hear many different things and less than truthful information and that can be frustrating for many bikers. So, as usual we broke it down for the biker community, so listen in on this debate and information! At the end of the day it doesn't really always matter what we as bikers believe should happen, but what is fact. Know that this will likely be a civil issue unless your behavior turns it into a criminal issue. Things to think about before acting: If you are confronted with a business refusing service to you as a biker then take a breath, leave calmly, and never go back to or support that business. You will never win by causing a scene or getting disorderly. If you believe your civil rights have been trampled then converse with an attorney to see what your legal options are if any. At best it will be a long expensive drawn out civil lawsuit, so choose wisely. Further, share your experience with as many bikers as you can via podcasts, other social media platforms, local media etc. In this day an age it is not tough to get the word out to let bikers know of "not biker friendly" establishments and we can hit them in the pocket book where it really matters. This may also bring awareness to many. There are websites and social media platforms dedicated to this. It will serve no purpose to cause a scene, as the business will then really have a reason to have you leave the premises. Plus, that is exactly how these business owners expect you to act, because they watched one television show at some point in their life depicting criminal bikers. Do the entire biker community a favor and walk away and handle it through proper channels. We don't want to damage the image criminal bikers have already given us, which is why these businesses don't want us in their establishment in the first place. Do your best to be polite and make them double think their decision. You have to realize that most persons that aren't in the motorcycling community may not readily know the difference between patches and clubs, so patience and education over time and our actions is the only way to handle this. Federal Civil Rights Act: The Federal Civil Rights Act guarantees all people the right to "full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin." The right to refuse service-Can they really do this? Like it or not, businesses or venues appear to have the right to refuse service at times, but there are civil rules and guidelines for that sort of action. Much of this argument is subjective and not objective. What I mean is that if a business simply admits that they refused service to a biker with patches solely for that reason, then that biker may have a civil case. Or clearly, if they refused service based on race, color, religion, or national origin then they would have a civil case. However, it seems clear that if the business believes that your [biker] admittance may cause issues or safety concerns then they can refuse admittance or service. That would be the "subjective" intent of the business owner. Not just the "objective" matter of you wearing a patch and that you belong to a motorcycle club. Case law seems to point towards some guidelines: Owners of establishments, or venues, cannot just arbitrarily discriminate because they don't like what someone is wearing. If an establishment does have a dress code, they must enforce the dress code uniformly so that it is applicable to all, and so that it is not enforced in a discriminatory manner. So, it seems that if an establishment has a "no biker club patches allowed" policy and enforce it uniformly to everyone then they seem to be within their authority and following case law. Additional Considerations: In addition to the protections against discrimination provided under federal law, many states have passed their own Civil Rights Acts that provide broader protections than the Federal Civil Rights Act. California's Unruh Civil Rights Act makes it illegal to discriminate against individuals based on unconventional dress or sexual preference. The biggest development of course is the fact that young Abel finally ratted out Gemma for killing Tara Knowles. Wendy, Jax's ex-wife and blood mother of Abel, and Jax are getting very close and she has moved in. Wendy spills her guts to Jax and rats out Gemma for helping harbor Juice when he was wanted by the club. And tells him that Unser was involved. Armed with all this information, Jax goes directly to Unser and calls him out. In turn Unser told Jax that Chris Dunn, whom both Gemma and Juice blame for the murder of Tara, was in a Las Vegas jail the night of the murder. Remember, Dunn was murdered by Jax, as he believed he was responsible for the murder based on Gemma's false information. Jax wants a meeting in jail with Juice and for Unser to help set it up. Juice finally spills his guts and tells Jax the truth and everything that went down the night of Tara's murder. Jax tells him he appreciates him telling the truth and that his death will be quick in return. Juice calls Gemma immediately after to tell her what he did. Jax had promised Unser that he would record the conversation with Juice at the jail, but Jax had Tully get him a room with no cameras. Per Unser, the terms of his getting the meet with Juice was that if Jax crossed him he would never help him or his family again. Unser and Jax later talk at Teller Motors and Unser is pissed off that Jax double crossed him once again. Jax ends up punching Unser in the presence of Sheriff Jarry. Unser is getting very close to solving the murder and wants Jax off the streets before he kills anyone else. He and Sheriff Jarry put out an All Points Bulletin on Jax for assault. Tully set up the stage for Lynn's murder and Juice meets Lynn tied up in a boiler room inside the jail. Juice had been provided a cell phone with a video camera to record Lynn's confession about whom told him about the location of the guns that SAMCRO had jacked from his crew earlier in the season. Juice promised not to murder him if he just told the truth about that matter and not to testify against SAMCRO to get his jail sentence lightened. Patreon DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A PATRON AND SUPPORT US? Lynn's information was that it was not Jury of the SOA Indian Hills Chapter as Jax had suspected. Remember that Jax shot President Jury in the presence of his Vice President after they got into an altercation about this very issue at an oil drill site. Lynn stated that is was Charlie Berosky, the dirty ex-cop that controls the ports in Stockton, that ratted. We here at the Law Abiding Biker Podcast have predicted this for several episodes now! Juice shanks Lynn in the throat several times and kills him. After receiving the phone call from Juice about spilling his guts to Jax, Gemma packs her immediate belongings and tries to escape with SAMCRO hot on her tail. Chucky ends up helping Gemma make a clean escape when Happy and Rat show up and ask where she is. Gemma later has Nero meet her outside a church, which is across the street form the home she grew up in. Gemma blabbers about her childhood and growing up. Nero knows something is amiss and then gets a call from Jax. Nero demands to know what is going on and Jax tells him that Gemma is the murderer of his wife Tara. Nero hangs up and tells Gemma that she needs to leave. Jax and crew go to a bakery that Berosky frequents, but he is not there. Unknown to Jax, there is the APB out on him. Two officers show up at the bakery and are checking the plates on his Harley Davidson. Jax runs out the back of the bakery, jacks a Dodge car from a fat guy, and the high speed chase is on. He ditches the Sheriff's Deputy that is chasing him and lands at a facility Marcus Alvarez, Mayans MC President, owns. Jax and Alvarez then have a long talk about things and how Nero has sold his half of Diosa to him. They look forward to being business partners. Alvarez is advised of Berosky being the rat an

Several people, couple forums, & dealer suggested going back to factory Harley plugs because they are built with some anti knock feature or something like that. What's your opinion on my plug situation. Wife & I are doing a four state road trip and I'm trying to avoid problems. There is a lot of information out on the internet about motorcycle spark plugs and much of it is confusing or contradicting. Oscar is in the studio on this episode and really breaks the facts down for you, so you can make an educated decision the next time your motorcycle requires new spark plugs. We are regular day to day hardcore bikers and want to find out what really matters & what is fluff with motorcycle spark plugs. Consider using our AMAZON AFFILIATE LINK to purchase NGK Iridium Spark Plugs for your motorcycle if you find this free blog and podcast useful. There is a great selection of motorcycle spark plugs on Amazon at good prices. The stock Harley Davidson plugs are a bit cheaper than the aftermarket NGK Iridium plugs or other aftermarket spark plug brands. Knowing that factory spark plugs on newer Harley Davidson motorcycle's under normal operating conditions only need to be changed out every 30,000 miles or so is something to take into account. The iridium plugs claim they can last even longer than that. We have noticed slight differences when using NGK Iridium spark plugs over stock Harley Davidson spark plugs, such as faster engine start up. The bike we used is Oscar's 2012 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited with a Power Commender V installed, which can make your engine start slower. In our tests the iridium plugs reversed that slow start some. Our Tech Gripper Cell Phone Motorcycle Mount Affiliate Link: Need a motorcycle cell phone or GPS mounting solution Bikaholics? Our tests were done for the regular biker out there on the road, not in a racing environment of course. There are an array of claims out there on how bad ass one motorcycle spark plug is over the other and that may be true for professional racers etc. But, for the average every day biker it will be hard to say whether you notice any significant difference at all, which was our experience. But for the extra $10 I will be upgrading my stock Harley spark plugs to NGK Iridium. If I get quicker engine starts at minimum, then heck it was worth it I guess. We later see that Tig and Venus are going to take their relationship to the next level and maybe play house or something. Nero still wants to sell off his half of Diosa to Mayans President Marcus Alvarez. Nero has grand plans on moving to a farm and taking Gemma with him. Jax does not seemready to loose Nero as a business partner. Abel is having problems since he has been eavesdropping on Gemma in past episodes. He is self mutilating and then advises child protective services that Gemma caused his injuries. Abel ends the episode by basically telling Jax that Gemma killed Tara. While the child services investigation is being conducted Gemma cannot see Abel and Thomas. Wendy moves into Jax's home to watch the boys and they seem to be getting very close again even though they are divorced. There is a power struggle within the Aryan Brotherhood and a guy named "Otis" is taking over as Tully's first hand man on the outside. Leeland is being replaced and not happy about it. Otis seems loyal to SAMCRO. Leeland later shows up at the hospital to kill Deputy Egly, who is still recovering from being shot by him and his crew. He thinks she is going to talk and wants her dead. Tyler is still loyal to Jax, although the episode made us have our doubts. Rat and T.O., the Grim Bastards MC President, are taken by Moses Cartwright. Tyler acted as if he was giving T.O. up to prove his loyalty to August Marks, who is in jail after Latricia's affidavit and the pastor's body were found on his construction property. Tyler gives Jax and crew the heads up. Rat and T.O. are beat some in the same holding cell that Bobby occupied before his death last episode. T.O. acts as if he has been broken and gives Moses a false map to where Latricia and her son are being held for protection. Waiting at the location are SAMCRO, Otis and some other AB, and the Grim Bastards. In vengeance for Bobby, Jax rips Moses' eyeball out, others cut his fingers off, and Jax shoots him in the head. Fortunately, the CHP says 32-year-old Guruardas Singh Khalsa, of Brentwood was arrested Wednesday at his home on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact and delaying or obstructing an officer. This incident occurred on Interstate 680 in Milpitas. A group riding sports type motorcycles are seen doing stunts on the freeway with no respect or regard for anyone else. A CPH motorcycle officer gets in the group and politely tells this rocket scientist of a biker to stop the behavior with no citation. The officer ends up pulling ahead, and the motorcyclist waves goodbye as another rider puts a fist in the air. Don't do the victory wave yet bro.....LOL CHP Officer Ross Lee says the YouTube video, online postings by Khalsa, and tips from the public helped lead investigators to Khalsa. I say this motorcyclist is a real genius and we thank him for hanging himself on YouTube! The Motorcycling Majority....99% of all bikers are hard working motorcycle enthusiasts and don't behave like these misguided individuals on roadways open to the public: We here in the law abiding biker community realize that it is incidents and viral videos like these that make all bikers/motorcyclists look bad. Pulling a wheelie down the freeway seems to be the new "I'm cool" thing to do for a very small portion of misguided motorcyclists. To be fair and balanced here at Law Abiding Biker Media, I also came across this video that a rider of a tricked out Harley Davidson posted on Facebook. I must say that these are bad ass bikes and some skilled riders, but please keep it off the open streets. These guys are pulling the same stunts as the guys on sports bikes while going down a freeway open to the public. Seriously, I would pay money to come watch these stunts and check the bikes out at an event. It just has no place on roadways open to the general public. This type of behavior is the image all Law Abiding Bikers, the 99% ers, are trying to fight, the typical "stereo type". I admit these guys are apparent skilled riders, but riding all over the roadway without regard to other motorists is just stupid and disrespectful. The motoring public doesn't need swarming bikes around them doing stunts. These riders have zero respect for anyone else but themselves. Riders performing these stunts will often argue that this is safe because they are skilled. Anyone with a brain knows that accidents can happen and we have all watched videos of riders doing these exact stunts and crashing. That is life and accidents will happen, so why up the risk to other motorists around you? Oh, was this an accident from what appeared to be a "skilled rider"? Personally, I don't care if the riders hurt themselves. Then again, from a financial standpoint, serious injury and fatality collisions cost us all dearly in insurance rates. I know these riders are just trying to have fun, but the consequences can be dire for other motorists. You see, if one of them goes down, it stops up the entire group, which stops freeway traffic, hopefully. The motorcycle also slides and a motorist may have to swerve, causing them to roll over, killing or injuring children they may be transporting. The scenarios can continue and common sense prevails here on all levels. What if it were your significant other with your children on the road with these riders? What if one of them lost control and your family member had to swerve to avoid one of them? What if they rolled over and were killed? Would you have a different opinion on wether this should take place on roadways open to the public? Or is it better suited for a controlled environment? There is clearly no reasonable argument to this. Fact: Wether on Harley

LAB - Sons of Anarchy (SOA) Season 7; Eps 9 - Podcast
EOFFICIAL WEBSITE; http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode we cover Sons of Anarchy Episode 9, which aired on November 4, 2014 and was titled "What a piece of work is man". I cover the high points in this blog, but you really need to listen in on this episode to understand everything and get into the know on things. Juice is in jail trying to get at Lyn and kill him to get back into good graces with the club. However, Wayne Unser and Sheriff Jarry learn that Chris Dunn, the murdered Chinese guy, was in Las Vegas on the night of the murder of Tara Knowles. Dunn was actually arrested for drunk and disorderly. The spin is that both Gemma and Juice have identified him as leaving the murder scene that night. We later see Juice being placed in solitary, as Jarry told DA Patterson to take Juice out of Administrative Segregation and pull the deal on the table. Of course we all know Bobby was shot in the head by August Marks. Jax and crew all met with August and his crew at an oil drilling site. The trade was to be that Jax was to give him the cell phone footage of a dead pastor having sex with young boys, the pastor's body, and the pastor's son. In exchange Bobby was to be returned to Jax, now missing his left fingers and eye. Everyone left the drilling site exceptJax, the pastor's son, Marks, and Bobby. Marks looked at the body and identified it as the pastor based on the face and a tattoo on the left arm. The body is not that of the pastor, but just the head and left arm. Jax and crew beheaded the pastor and cut off his left arm only to then sew it onto another corpse. So the actual body of the pastor is still buried on one of Marks construction sites. Jax also shows Marks some footage of the pastor's sex scenes, but we know from earlier that Happy had the video altered, so nobody would be able to be identified. Marks will likely learn this in the future and the video will be worthless along with the body. In the back of Bobby's pants is a pistol that was put their by his lead security guy, Moses Cartwright. Marks pulls the gun while Bobby, who is gagged, tries to warn Jax. Marks shoots Bobby in the head to prove a point to both Jax and the pastor's son that he does not approve of betrayal and deals with it swiftly. Gemma and Sheriff Jarry are not getting along well and Gemma calls her out for being on the take and on "Chib's dick" as she put it. The two go to blows at one point and we're not sure at this point how Gemma knew this information. Jax seems dedicated to protecting Latricia and her son and we don't know why this allegiance runs so deep for him. Maybe it is the last good thing that can come out of a completely out of control situation. After Jax tells Gemma that Bobby is dead and it is because of the battle with the Chinese, she leaves the room. She realizes that Bobby's death is ultimately her fault as she has falsely accused Chris Dunn for the murder of Tara. She cries over Bobby and tells him she's sorry all while young Abel is listening in. Abel has heard too much already at his young age and that will come into play before the end of the final episode. He may very well end up at the head of the SAMCRO table, Jax's inner fear. By the end of this episode Marks is being led out of a restaurant in handcuffs and Moses Cartwright is watching. Jax and Chibs are close by and make it known that they are there and responsible for his arrest. Jax had Latricia's affidavit against Marks sent to DA Patterson via Sheriff Jarry. The police are anonymously led to the actual body of the pastor on Marks' construction site. So, for now Marks is going to be in jail while Jax looks for a more permanent solution. Chibs delivers the affidavit and a map of where the body is to Sheriff Jarry. This ends up in a scene where Jarry want's Chibs to prove he loves her by having sex with her on the hood of her patrol car while Quinn watches. Marks did not like it when Jax had Tyler presented him with a picture of the dead pasture buried on one of his construction sites along with a signed affidavit from the pastors wife that he had been blackmailing her. They are torturing Bobby and have removed his left eyeball and the fingers on his left hand. Of course this is his "clutch hand" and very important for riding a motorcycle. Both body parts have been mailed to Jax and it appears Marks will not negotiate at all. He wants to know where the dead body is, the pictures, and the affidavit if SAMCRO wants to ever see Bobby again. Gemma is at the cabin caring for the dead pastor's wife, who is trying to detox from heroin. Jax seem to really car for her an her son. He does not want them to be hurt by Marks and is protecting them. Of course, Gemma in her foolish ways thought she was being taken to the cabin to be killed for murdering Tara as she prepared her Glock for possible battle. Juice shot at the California Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officers and they chased him down. He is in Jail and this is all part of an attempt on his part to get back into the club. He is to get put in Administrative Segregation (Ad Seg) with Henry Lynn and kill him. Juice stirs up a false deal with Sheriff Jarry to put him in AD Seg in return for information leading to the conclusion of Tara Knowles murder case. Unser is present during this discussion and clearly knows there is still a missing piece to Tara's murder, but Sheriff Jarry talks with DA Patterson and Juice is put in Ad Seg. SAMCRO tracks down and learns that Gib Oleary, whom they killed many episodes back after taking down the Chinese gun and heroin deal, is the son of of Jury White, the president of the Indian Hill's Chapter. It seems clear that Jury was the only one who knew where the Chinese guns were stored and had motive to rat out SAMCRO to the Chinese. Jax meets up with Jury and spills what he knows and this ends up with Jax shooting and killing Jury in front of the Indian Hills Vice President. That is not going to sit well within the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club as Chibs later explains to Jax. Abel is displaying some bad behavior and violence after he strikes another child over the head with his lunch box at school. He is also seen at the doorway listening to Gemma tell young Thomas that she didn't mean to Kill Tara and that is was an "accident". Gemma later confronts Abel about the school incident and asks him if he knows what an "accident" is and he replies, "Do you"? It appears that Abel is becoming like his father Jax and a product of his environment. This is exactly how Jax grew up under his father John Teller's reign and is why he turned out the way he is. Patreon DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A PATRON AND SUPPORT US? The start of season 7 shows Jax in control of things and doing exactly what he wants when he wants. The season has taken a turn now with Marks in apparent control of things. Jax has had some second thoughts about things and even seems a bit indecisive. He has confided in Chibs, who tells him to stay the course, but later questions him about killing Jury. For now Nero seems to be taking a back seat and is trying to sell his half of Diosa for 300K to the Mayans and meets with President Marcus Alvarez, who seems interested. He needs 150K up front. His plans are to move Gemma, Wendy, and the boys to a farm with him away from Charming, but Gemma is not all in yet. If this deal happens Alvarez will be in 50/50 with the Jax on Diosa business. What are the difference and specifications? What are the difference in prices and why? Should I buy a Harley, Victory, Indian, Yamaha, or Kawasaki? We dive deep into this topic and you really have to listen in to this episode to get all the details. We call all these bikes the "Harley Street Glide" class, because the Street Glide is The Motor Company's perennial best-seller, and the new "Special" edition is the world's favorite bagger. It is simply a fact that Harley came up with the overall look and style of this class of bagger and the other manufacturers have been chasing it every since trying to get a piece of the pie. Harley has been developing and designing this bike for many years and the others are all fairly new to the game in comparison. Harley has had much time to perfect and test the Street Glide. We have some great insights and predictions. Episode 5 aired on 10/07/14 and was titled "Some Strange Eruption" and Episode 6 aired on 10/14/14 and was titled "Smoke 'Em if you got 'Em". The slaughter at Diosa by the Chines has certainly set the club back. As if Jax was not already angry enough, now he has every reason to go forward with reckless disregard. Chibs and Sheriff Jarry are getting close and personal. The question is if Sheriff Jarry is actually on the take or if she is working a case. Is she taking the money or is she setting SAMCRO up for a large scale RICO case? Listener Line: (509) 731-3548 Leave a computer voicemail: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com/voicemail General Contact: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com/contact We are patiently waiting to find out who gave up the location of the guns to the Chinese. We have strong reason to believe it was Jury, the Pres of the Indian Hills Chapter, because we know one of men Jax and crew killed must have been close to him. It is all to possible that Jury is working with Berosky, who may also be involved with disclosing the information to the Chinese. Nero is in the thick of it. Jax finally reveals to him that he believes the Chinese killed Tara. Of course the only witness is his beloved Gemma. Mayan's President Marcus Alvarez takes temporary custody of Nero and they lock him in a closet. That is because Nero failed to disclose information to him. We know Juice did not have the balls to kill Gemma after they ended up in a desolate area. Gemma ends up walking to a Cafe and later meeting up with Wendy and Unser. Juice robs a convenience store and then ends up at the Mayan's Club House. He is trying to get safe passage to Mexico in return for giving information about SAMCRO to Marcus Alvarez, the President of the Mayans. Alvarez will have nothing to do with it and notifies SAMCRO, who later take custody of Juice. But not before Juice gets locked in the same closet as Nero and they talk. The huge question on everyone's mind is, did Juice tell Nero that Gemma murdered Tara? Lynn is set up by both Nero and Jax and shows up at a warehouse where they are prepared to slaughter SAMCRO. Instead, it is just Jax and Chibs present. Lynn takes them away in a van after a deal is made. However, they never make it and SAMCRO is waiting for Lynn and crew. Jax and Lynn get into a fight and some dirty Stockton police on Berosky's payroll show up. Lynn and crew are taken into custody on gun and drug charges while SAMCRO is let go. Jax talks with the Grim Bastards about possibly "patching over", which even they are dumfounded by. The Grim Bastards finally take out Delanynee, who was responsible for killing one of their members sometime back. They have been trying to track him down every since and now he is out of the picture. The Aryan's leader is Tully, who is in jail. Leeland is taking up business on the outside and SAMCRO isn't getting along with them very well. A huge fist fight breaks out, but Jax later makes it up to Tully buy offering him 1/2 the drug trade in Stockton after Jax made a deal with Marcus Alvarez in exchange for Juice. Deputy Egly is now awake after being shot by Leeland and crew several episodes ago. SAMCRO was also present, but did not do the actual shooting. However, Egly saw all of them and is now in a position to speak. We will have to see if Egly protects the club or dimes them out. We see a preview of upcoming episode 7. We see some Honda police motorcycles getting shot up. We see Juice back in his SAMCRO vest "cut" and being chased by police on a motorcycle in a pursuit. We see another scene where it appears Jax is handing Juice's vest back to him in front of a large rock that is spray painted with "J.T. 11-13-93". In front of that rock Juice says, "I'm sorry". Happy is seen telling Gemma that she needs to come with them to the cabin for "club business". Unser is with Jax and says, " I need your word". Before I buy your video I need to know if you run all of the wires inside the bars? MY RESPONSE: Be careful bro for sure. Even our local dealership mechanics get confused between the years and different heated grip kits until they get it in hand. I have a very good relationship with them and they tell me a lot. Because some mechanics have installed on past models inside the bars that is not the case for the 2014 and above. Many mechanics have not even seen the new kit and procedures. The bikes are very new. Right side is internal. Left side is external, but the way Lurch and I did it, you can't even tell. I could run them through my bars too, but modifications outside Harley's recommendations would have to be made. Guarantee the dealer would have to modify to make that happen on a 2015. They usually don't do that, because then the job would not fall under warranty. Donald Meitz Heated grips installed. Juice in turn is supposed to provide Unser information about the club and Tara's murder. The Triad's are still not happy with the fact that their gun shipment got taken down and they lost some heroin. They do not seem completely satisfied that the two men that know Jury, the President of Indian Hill's Chapter of SOA, did it and are now dead. They are asking many questions of Jax and looking into things. The biggest surpass to Jax and crew is that the Triad's only found one many dead, as apparently Jury moved the other. August Marks and Jax meet and have a lengthy discussion about trusting each other. Marks ends up finding out about the gun and heroin take down of the Chinese and suspects Jax and crew did it. This heated conversation ends up with August saying that he would not hesitate to kill Jax or any of his crew if he had to. This does not sit will with Jax at all. Jax and crew stir a bunch of things up with the one niners and "Chester's Crew", who are a faction trying to break off from Tyler, who is in charge of the "purple" right now. Jax and crew all but tell Tyler they took down the Chinese. Jax give shim some of the heroin they took off the Chinese and they make a plan to kill Chester and anyone else that was thinking about splitting off. Berosky is dirty as usual and caught up with this entire plan. When Chester and crew meet with Jax they head over to one of Berosky's warehouses where the Jax has stored the Chinese guns. Chester and his crew are then slated by Jax and crew. Berosky gets a few of his dirty cop friends to help clean up the mess. Bobby Elvis calls Jury to ask if he knows anything about the missing guy pretending that he does not know he's dead. Bobby is trying to get intel on who this guy is in case he actually did not die and got away. Jury seems to know exactly what is going in and is clothing the dead man's dog tag and the shotgun that was used to kill him. Jury knows this shotgun belongs to SAMCRO. Tyler wants Jax and his crew to try and track down the wife of the dead pastor (they killed of course). August Marks is trying to close a huge housing deal and needs his signature. They learn that the estranged wife of the dead pastor has power of attorney and can sign instead. The mission for Jax's crew to locate her begins of course. They certainly don't want Marks digging around for the dead "missing" pastor and find out the truth. They dig up the body of the dead pastor and retrieve his cell phone. That leads them to some sex videos with none other than Venus in them. They track down Venus, who leads them to a lake house. They break in and Tiggy is shot as an intruder, but he is not killed. The estranged wife and her son try to get away in a car, but Rat gives chase and runs them into a lake. Jax and Chibs dive in and save the estranged wife. They all end up going back into the lake house and talk things out. The wife does not like her husband or August Marks, but agrees she will sign the housing deal papers. Jax and crew meet with some of Tully's guys in the woods and two Deputies tail them. Tully's guys spot the police and shoot both of them. Jax and crew did not shoot the police and Jax is pissed, as this will possibly bring heat on Charming and the club. The male deputy dies, but the female deputy is still alive and on life support in the hospital. Sheriff Jarry shows up at the makeshift clubhouse to talk with Jax and Chibs. During their conversation a car shows up and a male Chinese guy jumps out to throw a grenade through the glass window of the club
Ep 57LAB-57-Should I Join a Traditional Type Motorcycle Club? Are There Benefits?

Call the listener hotline: (509) 731-3548 Leave a computer voicemail: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com/voicemail General Contact: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com/contact PODCAST & BLOG-So, have you ever wondered whether you should join an organized type motorcycle club? Or should you just ride and hang out with friends without being an organized club? From much experience, I can tell you, joining a motorcycle club is certainly not for everyone. I encourage every biker/motorcyclist to think heavily before getting involved with a club. In this podcast episode we play a voicemail a listener left for us. It begs the question, are there benefits to starting or joining a traditional organized motorcycle club? We break this down and get into depth on the pros and cons of joining or starting a biker club, so put your helmet on and hang on for this one. The first thing many think is why would I want to join a club and have to follow all the bylaws and rules when I can just hang out and ride with guys I like? If this is your thought, then maybe you are not ready to join or start a club yet and are exploring. Many are curious if there are any benefits to being involved with an organized motorcycle club? I am the President of the Sworn Few MC and involved in this very traditional organized motorcycle club for many reasons, which I will discuss a bit later. I do know groups that just ride together without being organized in a traditional type club sense. It is up to each individual on how they want to roll and what they are expecting or looking for. Let's first discuss some major differences between a true motorcycle club, a riding club, and a riding group. A traditional motorcycle club is one in which the members wear a leather vest or "cut" bearing a separated 3 piece patch on the back. The top rocker patch is the club name, the center patch is their logo, and the bottom rocker is the city, area, or state they ride in. They follow traditional type bylaws and have a definite chain of command to follow and elected club officers. They have regular meetings and often required attendance for meetings and/or events. Riding clubs vary a lot, but typically have some sort of structure like a motorcycle club. In a riding club the members don't wear the 3 piece patch. Some riding clubs don't wear leather vests at all. If they do wear a leather vest they may have a 1 or 2 piece patch on the back. They usually have a chain of command and appointed or elected club officers. The Harley Owners Group (HOG) is a familiar example of a riding club. A riding group has little to no structure. They likely are just a group of riders that may share some similar interests. They may have clothing items such as T-shirts or hats instead of a leather vest and patch. They likely don't have elected or appointed officers nor a chain of command. Because of television, media, and the actions of the minority (less than 1%) biker criminal element people are overly interested in motorcycle clubs. Always remember that 99% of motorcyclists/bikers are hard working law abiding people. Other people and even other motorcyclists may ask, why not just ride together? What's the point of joining a club and wearing a patch? To quickly put things into perspective for these individuals I ask a few simple questions. Why are people in organized church groups? Why are people in tennis clubs, or golf clubs? Why are boys in Boy Scouts and girls in Girl Scouts? Certainly Boy Scouts could just get together and camp or hike. Why do they have to have uniforms, a structure, wear status patches, and have a chain of command? Why do sports teams wear uniforms and have a leader (coach)? Because, it is basic human nature to want to earn the right and belong to something we consider special and elite. Something special to share with like minded individuals. This often takes the form of wearing something that represents that club or group. Look all around you and you will see special interest groups and clubs everywhere. So, lay off motorcycle clubs already and move on. Here are a few things that a club or organization may offer aside from just "getting together". A sense of pride Teamwork Brotherhood Chain of command Organization of the team/club/group Sense of order Sense of achievement A means to advance your mission or purpose Let's talk specifically about why motorcyclists/bikers may join a club instead of just "getting together." Many join motorcycle

The reason is that after you get over a certain amount of friends, Facebook will force you into becoming a page and you will loose all your history and pictures. This recently happened to the Sworn Few Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. When you have a Facebook page not as many people will see your posts and this is due to Facebook's algorithm. They want you to pay money to "boost" your posts, so more people see it. This is fine for a business, but most of us are non-profit organizations. Clubs are not generally going to pay, so other bikers can see their posts, so this is a bit ridiculous. Monkeygirl6575 (US) 5 stars Subject: Great Podcast/ August 16, 2014 Stumbled upon the Law Abiding Biker youtube videos recently and as fellow LEO and new Harley owner found the videos great and informative. Answered a lot of questions/ideas I had about my 2014 Street Glide. Once I found that you guys had a Podcast (which I have never listened to Podcasts or even had the app installed) I started listening and have enjoyed every show. Great to hear the info and advice you guys pass on. Keep up the good work fellas! MRT1954 (US) 5 stars Subject: Great Podcast/ August 5, 2014 Lots of great, no BS, information. I am impressed at the thoroughness of your product, especially noting the time you put into the learning process of the BB functions. You answered my questions on the Navigation areas and so much more on the rest of the different areas. You really overloaded me but at the same time, I now know where to go to find specific answers on the many different areas. And your presentation of the material was down to earth, easy to understand and most of all, functional. Now I have a "go to" reference for my unanswered questions which HD left me and others in the dark. My next purchase will be the BB software video since I anticipate it will be in greater depth than my experience of downloading HD software. So thanks again for your videos and time spent in researching the HD dark holes and producing such a fine product. My response: Thanks so much Jon for the kind words and feedback. It is so nice to hear that all the hard work and going the extra mile is appreciated. I am always concerned that I am creating content that is useful and well presented & as you see trying to make it better. If I feel it is outdated it drives me nuts until I overhaul everything and get it out. I don't want anyone to ever feel like they did not get what they paid for. LAB-Sons of Anarchy (SOA) | Season 7; Eps 1 & 2-Podcast
ECOMPLETE SHOW NOTES FORTHCOMING OFFICIAL WEBSITE: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-We are covering Sons of Anarchy television episodes 1 & 2 of season 7 on this Law Abiding Biker Podcast episode and it is absolutely jam packed with information and insight, so take a listen now! Check out the Season 7 Pre-Season episode we did! Want to call us and get your topic on the show or leave us feedback? Listener Line: (509) 731-3548 Computer Voicemail: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com/voicemail Here are some highlights of what we talk about: Jax apparently does not have a vision anymore and only sees what is in front of him. He is meeting with many leaders of the different criminal organizations. In the background Jax is manipulating everyone all in an apparent attempt to gain Henry Lin's, the leader of the "Lin Triad," false trust. Jax wants to later expose this fact to Lin and kill him and his family. This is in response to Gemma lying to Jax and telling all that the Triads are responsible for Tara's death. Jax kills a Triad in episode 1 that Gemma told him murdered Tara. Nero is acting as a politician on both episodes and trying to bring everyone together to avoid a bloody street war. Nero sits down with Charles Berosky, Mayan's MC President Alvarez, the Stockton Mayan's MC President, Jax, and Henry Lin all at different times. Irish leader Connor is led to try and make peace with Henry Lin. Jax is meeting with leader August Marks on the side. Jax and crew spend time with the Grim Bastards MC President and club members trying to help locate the driver of a blue Impala that ran down some of their members last season (season 6). This takes a weird twist when they locate a blue Impala and break into an apartment. Jax and the crew end up visiting the home of two guys that helped him and the SOA Indian Hill's chapter raid a Triad operation. These two individual were apparently muscle for the Indian Hills chapter per President Jury. Jax and the boys kill both of these individuals and make it look like a drug deal gone bad, using a confiscated brick of heroin they took from the Triad raid. When the Indian Hills President finds the men dead he had a reaction that maybe they were much closer to him than he lead on. He also locates a staged shotgun that he knows Jax and crew used at the Triad raid. The new female Sheriff "Jarry" arrives in charing and hires Unser as a "consultant". Unser is provided with the entire Tara Knowles murder investigation files. Of course this is after Unser is bound, gagged, and held at gunpoint all night by Juice, who is on the run for betraying Jax and the club last season. Juice ends up letting Unser go free. Gemma learns what Juice did to Unser and later finds the murder investigation files in Unser's trailer. Gemma is of course manipulating and trying to protect her secret that she killed Tara. She is trying to find out as much information as she can. She gives juice a cell phone "burner," $4300 cash, the keys to her father's house, and tells him to take Wendy's car. She wants him out of town, as he is causing too many issues. Wendy leaves the drug treatment clinic after only 9 days of 90 days. She finds Juice staying in her home, because Gemma has let him in. This is where he is hiding from the club. You absolutely must listen to this podcast episode if you want to be up to speed on things. We have a ton of content for you and are excited. Season 7 episode 1 of Son's of Anarchy will air on Tuesday September 9, 2014 on FX Networks. Items of interest: The premiere episode picks up ten days after the death of Tara, the beloved wife of the SAMCRO president. However, a bewildered Jax will be seen behind bars for violating a parole. Jax, who is in search of his wife's murderer, will go on a killing spree, eliminating everyone who comes in his way of vengeance. But how will he react when he learns that it's his own flesh and blood, his mother, who killed his wife? Interesting items in the main trailer: The minute-long clip shows an incarcerated Jax (Charlie Hunnam) brutally beating some unseen subject, Jemma (Katey Sagal) scheming, a multi-man Mexican standoff, gunfights, car chases, the Mayans, the Chinese — all set to U2's "Bullet The Blue Sky." Jax says, "I already lost the woman I love. I'm not going to loose my club." He says this while sitting at the meeting table with the club. Later on, Jax's son Abel is seen asking Gemma (Katey Segal), Jax's mom, if his daddy does bad things. She says that Jax is a good man, though it remains to be seen if she'll think the same way once Jax gets wind of the fact that she's the one who killed his beloved Tara. The final seconds of the trailer sees Jax shirtless and not holding back as he kills someone in close range. Your host's season predictions (Ryan, Lurch, Chewy): Lurch: Jax gets the club back into guns and chaos ensues Juice dies at the hands of Jax Jax kills Gemma w/ a suppressed .45 caliber with the Grim Reaper on the handles then leaves the club and his cut behind Wendy and Jax reunite Tig and Venus (transvestite) hook up and live happily ever after Chewy: Unknown homeless lady is Jax's guardian angel (revealed) Wayne Uncer is killed Gemma and Nero die at the hands of Jax Jax gets out of club and leaves with Wendy & the [Jax's] boys A scene flashes years forward to Abel (Jax's son) at the head of the club (SOA) table Ryan: Jax runs crazy and kills at the beginning of the season trying to avenge his wife's (Tara's) death. Realizes in the end the club is not for him or his boys and leaves the club and cut behind for good Jax does not kill Gemma. Instead he dis-owns her and will not let her see his boys, which punishes her much worse. Eventually, Gemma commits suicide, as she has nothing left. This way Jax doesn't have to personally kill her and it hurts her worse than just killing her outright. Juice gets killed for certain and these are some of the reasons: He shot Sheriff Eli He helped Gemma cover up the death of Tara He spilled Jax's secrets to none other than Nero The infamous "homeless" lady's true identity and character will be revealed Tig will be killed Our Tech Gripper Cell Phone Motorcycle Mount Affiliate Link: Need a motorcycle cell phone or GPS mounting solutionBikaholics? Ep 55LAB-55-You're Shopping For Quick Easy Motorcycle Biker Club Colors Huh? | Just Admit It Already
EOFFICIAL WEBSITE: ==> http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-We dive into a situation the Sworn Few Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club "Big River" Chapter" recently ran into with a hang around. This hang around was secretive and was caught red-handed displaying another club's colors. However, he had not told anyone and was caught off guard when the photos and evidence were presented to him. The Sworn Few LEMC catches things like this , because they have very strict processes and procedures in place for hang around and prospective status. They are certain that they will not get a less than desirable member into the club and their processes proved to work once again. If you are one that is shopping for easy motorcycle club colors then just admit it and move on to the easy route. No hard feelings and you will save yourself time & possible embarrassment. Likely, you will not be proud of your easily obtained club colors, but each to their own. It's hard to be proud of something you didn't earn through hard work and dedication. Want to call us and get your topic on the show or leave us feedback? Listener Line: (509) 731-3548 Computer Voicemail: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com/voicemail The Sworn Few LEMC absolutely has minimum time periods for hang around and prospective status. They have many protections in place and conduct thorough ongoing background checks. They monitor what hang around and prospects are doing at all times. They will meet your wife and family and will know everything about you. They will know more about you and your life than your own law enforcement agency you work for does. It is not enough that you are a law enforcement officer. That simply means the SFMC "may" look at you if you request membership. They don't and will never recruit for members. They are tight and only those that really want to be a Sworn Few LEMC member will make it. Every law abiding biker club should absolutely take bringing on new members extremely serious. It is the one thing that can save your club from disaster. We have all heard and observed clubs falling apart and members leaving, because of one or two bad apples. Don't let this happen to your club. Stop it before it every ever happens. If you want to learn more about the processes involved in starting a Sworn Few LEMC Chapter or becoming a member you can listen to Episode #33 of the podcast. We owe that to the Law Abiding Biker Community! We certainly hope that it is because we put out content bikers want to hear & work very hard at this thing. You have all heard us talk about motorcycle products and companies and because of that these companies have cashed in and sold many items. We think is time these companies start giving back to the biker community. So, we are going to respectfully put companies we believe in "On Notice" from time to time. That means we are calling them out and we hope you join in with us. These companies should be sponsoring the very popular Law Abiding Biker Podcast and YouTube Channel. Additionally, we believe some coupon codes and such would be nice for the biker community. Remember, the motorcycling majority (the 99%ers) are the reason these companies thrive. We spend a ridiculous amount of money on motorcycle's and motorcycle related products. We can certainly choose where we spend our hard earned money and that should only be on companies that are willing to give back a bit and recognized the importance of their customers & the biker community. Some of these companies have been asked, but at this point have decided not to support us or you yet. Let's make them realize how large we are. We strongly encourage you to help us by clicking these company's social links below and calling them out publicly with us. Ep 52LAB-52-State Mandated Tiered Motorcycle Licensing-Really? | Issues and Facts
PODCAST-Podcast listener line is (509) 731-3548. You can also leave a voicemail right from your computer at http://www.lawabidingbiker.com/voicemail. Thanks to all that have called in an become involved with the law abiding biker community! We get into the recent hot subject of Tiered Motorcycle Licensing. Tiered licensing is when a State decides that they will issue several different classes of motorcycle licenses to a rider. The class of license you will receive is solely the amount off CC's your motor is when you take the skills test. For example, if you were to pass on a 250cc you would not be able to ride anything bigger unless you came in on a bigger cc motorcycle and passed the skills test. There is usually an "unlimited class" for say example, anything over 750 cc. This has been implemented differently in different states over time. The fact of the matter is that many states have abandoned the old tired licensing program, because over time there was no hard evidence or statistics that this program somehow reduced motorcycle collisions. We disagree with tiered motorcycle licensing all together and with good reason. You will have to listen in to find out the facts of the matter. The issue recently heated back up when the State of Illinois decided they may implement it based on recent statistics that their motorcycle fatality collisions are on the rise. I live in Washington State and many years ago we had tiered licensing, but eventually got rid of it. There is no hard evidence New Affiliate We have a new affiliate with B&H Photo Video. It certainly depends on the baffles you have and whether or not it is a 2 into 1 into 2 system like my Twin Slash Rounds are. ________________________________________________________________ CHECK US OUT AND SUBSCRIBE: Website: http://www.LawAbidingBiker.com Email & Voicemail: http://www.LawAbidingBiker.com/Contact Phone Hotline: 509-731-3548 Twitter: https://twitter.com/LawAbidingBiker Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lawabidingbiker YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/scrappy587 Google Plus Page: https://plus.google.com/+Lawabidingbi
Ep 51LAB-51-Stuck at a Red Light on a Motorcycle | Laws & Issues | Harley Ride Planner App
MAIN WEBSITE: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com LISTENER HOTLINE: (509) 731-3548 PODCAST-Ever been stuck at a traffic light that takes an excruciating amount of time — what feels like hours — to turn green? Imagine that as a daily occurrence. That is what it's like for some motorcyclists/bikers due to sensors at some intersections that don't recognize when lightweight vehicles arrive. During the last legislative session, a new section was added to Chapter 46.61 RCW in Washington State that allows the operator of a street legal motorcycle to make a left turn, after stopping at an intersection that is controlled by a triggered traffic control signal, if the device fails to operate after one cycle of the traffic signal. Other states have had laws for some time and they are often referred to as "Safe on Red Laws". Safe-on-red laws vary by state on how they address the issue, but they all include basic instructions on how one can legally run a red light. In general, the guidelines say motorcyclists must wait at the light for a predetermined amount of time and then only proceeding through the intersection if it's free of cross traffic or pedestrians. States with "Safe on Red Laws" are listed here: Arkansas - In effect since 2005, state law allows a motorcyclist to proceed with caution, after coming to a full and complete stop, through a red light that fails to detect the bike. (Arkansas Code section 27-52-206) Idaho – (2006) If a signal fails to operate after one cycle of the traffic light that a motorcyclist may proceed, using due caution and care, after coming to a full and complete stop at the intersection. (Statute 49-802) Illinois - (2012) Permits a driver of a motorcycles or bicycle facing a red light that fails to change within a reasonable period of time of not less than 120 seconds to proceed after yielding the right-of-way to any oncoming traffic. However, this law doesn't apply to municipalities of over 2,000,000 people – such as Chicago. (625 ILCS 5/11-306) Minnesota - (2002) A person operating a bicycle or motorcycle who runs a red light has an affirmative defense if the driver first came to a complete stop, the traffic light stayed red for an unreasonable amount of time and appeared not to detect the vehicle and no motor vehicles or people were approaching the street. (Statute 169.06) Missouri – (2009) State law tells both motorcyclists and bicyclists that run red lights that they have an affirmative defense if they brought their vehicle to a complete stop, the light was red for an unreasonable time period, and there were no motor vehicle or person approaching. (Statute 304.285) Nevada - (2013) Those using motorcycles, bicycles, mopeds, and tri-mobiles are allowed to proceed through an intersection with a red light after waiting for two traffic light cycles, and they yield to other vehicle traffic or pedestrians. (Statute 484B.307) North Carolina - (2007) Motorcyclists are permitted to move cautiously through a steady red light after coming to a complete stop and waiting a minimum of three minutes and if no other vehicle or pedestrians are approaching the intersection. (NCGS 20-158) Oklahoma - (2010) Motorcycles can proceed cautiously through a steady red light intersection after a making a complete stop and if no other motor vehicle or person is approaching the roadway. (Statute 47-11-202) South Carolina - (2008) After making a complete stop and waiting for a minimum of 120 seconds, the driver of a motorcycle, moped, or bicycle may treat a steady red light that doesn't change as a stop sign and proceed with caution. (S.C. Code 56-5-970) Tennessee - (2003) After coming to a complete stop, motorcyclists and bicyclists may proceed through a steady red light when it is safe to do so. (Tennessee Traffic Control Signals 55-8-110) Virginia – (2011) Drivers of motorcycles, mopeds, and bicycles may move with caution through non-responsive red lights as long as they yield the right-of-way to others approaching the intersection, and have come to a complete stop for two complete light cycles or 120 seconds, whichever is shorter.(Statute 46-2-833) Wisconsin - (2006) A motorcycle, moped or bicycle is permitted to run a steady red light after making a complete stop and waiting at least 45 seconds and then yields the right–of-way to any vehicular traffic or pedestrians using the intersection. (Statute 346.37) In early 2013, Nebraska introduced Bill LB 85 proposing a safe-on-red law, but the bill currently has a status of "indefinitely postponed." Our official website ==> http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Call our official listener hotline: (509) 731-3548 PODCAST-Okay, we really tried to pack a ton of information into this episode. No, this episode is not really as long as it may look for the overall episode time (kind of). We just put some bonus content at the end of the regular episode that lasts about 45 minutes longer. I have been working hard over the last 2 months developing and designing a brand new Law Abiding Biker Podcast and Media website. I was able to finally launch it about a week ago, so enjoy http://www.lawabidingbiker.com. I wanted the new website to be clean and very user friendly, so I hope it is a good experience for you each time you visit. The main topic of this episode is the recent 7 day motorcycle trip that members of the Sworn Few Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club took through Oregon, California, Nevada, and Washington. We have some useful information and things that came up along with some interesting and funny stories. Harley Davidson Front Brake Line Recall Harley-Davidson has issued a massive recall for its ABS-equipped 2014 Touring models. The recall notice affects 66,421 units. At issue is placement of the bike's front brake line, which may become pinched between the fuel tank and frame and potentially lock-up the front wheel. I just got the recall taken care of on my 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special and it took about 20 minutes at the dealer. The mechanics remove your gas tank, inspect the brake line for damage, and then put two zip ties (cable straps) to keep the line in place so it can't get pinched. Here are the Harley Davidson models that may are affected. For this most recent brake line recall, H-D owners can contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. The affected recall units are from the models listed below manufactured from July 1, 2013 through May 7, 2014: 2014 FLHP Road King Police 2014 FLHR Road King 2014 FLHRC Road King Classic 2014 FLHRSE CVO Road King 2014 FLHTCU Electra Glide Ultra Classic 2014 FLHTCUTC (Uncertain on specific model, but potentially FLHTCUTG Tri Glide Ultra Trike) 2014 FLHTK Electra Glide Ultra Limited 2014 FLHTKSE CVO Limited 2014 FLHTKSHRINE Electra Glide Ultra Limited Shrine Edition 2014 FLHTP Electra Glide Police 2014 FLHX Street Glide 2014 FLHXS Street Glide Special 2014 FLHXSHRINE Street Glide Shrine Edition Emails covered: Email: Kim Pharris of Huntington, TX My husband & I just bought 2014 Street Glide Specials and haven't been able to find rear lowering kits. Ep 49LAB-49-Swimming in Emails & New Jacksonville Beach Biker Shooting Info
Leave us a voicemail at: (509) 731-3548 Our official website is at: ==> http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-Get ready to dig deep into the email bag on this episode bikaholics! We have been so busy covering other topics on the podcast that the emails have been stacking. We cover an array of things that are a directly result of emails we have received. We really appreciate the emails everyone, so keep them coming. You can send us an email or leave us a voicemail anytime! I start out with an announcement reference the fatal biker shooting that occurred on June 26, 2014 around 8:00 PM outside Nippers Bar Grille in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. We covered this in depth on Episode #48, so check it out. After that episode aired I was contacted by a high ranking official of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club (IOMC) and that speaks volumes for the Iron Order Motorcycle Club. The official was appreciative of our fair and balanced coverage of the shooting incident. This high ranking official is very open to an interview right here on the Law Abiding Biker Podcast. However, he wishes to wait until the true facts of the fatal biker shooting are released to the public. The Iron Order MC does not wish to interfere with the Jacksonville Beach Police Department's or the State Attorney's Office ongoing investigation. As a President of a motorcycle club myself, I must say that I would likely make the same decision. It is stated by the IOMC official that they are in fact a "law abiding biker" motorcycle club. Over the years that has certainly been my perception of the IOMC based on my personal contact with members. The Iron Order MC does have a very open website with pictures of members and exactly what they stand for. They are not secretive at all. Of course, that is completely unlike outlaw motorcycle gang websites that contain very little or no information. OMG's obviously have much to hide, so they can't be open like law abiding biker clubs on their websites. I did learn from the official that the Iron Order MC member that was involved in the fatal shooting was never in custody, booked into jail, and is free right now. Also, I may have stated that Nippers is a "bar" in Episode #48 and I was incorrect. Nippers is described as an upscale family restaurant. The patrons and many witnesses present that night were not bikers and were families and children. We must let the legal processes take place and know that the videos, witnesses, and forensic evidence in this case will reveal the truth in time. So, look forward loyal listeners to an upcoming interview with the IOMC Official after the facts are released. We will of course keep you up to date on this situation as it unfolds in the meantime. We will let you know of any information that appears to be valid in nature. Again, I caution you to be very careful about where you get your information on the matter. There are some internet trolls out there reporting on the incident with no actual information, who are obviously very biased. If a source is already judging one side or the other without much information then that should probably be a red flag that they have an agenda. Ep 48LAB-48-"Bike Night" Shooting Jacksonville Beach, FL | Motorcycle Readiness & Packing for a Long Motorcycle Trip
Call us at: (509) 731-3548 Our official website is: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-We start out by diving into the reported fatal shooting that occurred on June 26, 2014 around 8:00 PM outside Nippers Bar Grille in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The Jacksonville Beach Police Department has identified the deceased as 40-year-old Zachariah Tipton. There is very little preliminary information at this point & it is being investigated thoroughly. Unlike other less than credible motorcycle related sources that have reported on the matter, we here at Law Abiding Biker Podcast & Media hold ourselves to a higher standard. We are different and try to be as fair and balanced as we possibly can. Unlike other sources, we are not taking sides when there is very little information to do so at this point. It would be plain ignorance to do so. Regardless of what motorcycle club the deceased and shooter may have been involved with, we will wait and follow up on this story as real information comes forth. Here are the basics at this point until further information comes out: It does appear that it was "bike night" at Nippers Bar Grille. Per sources, there were members of multiple motorcycle clubs wearing colors. A member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club and a member of the Black Pistons Motorcycle Club had some sort of exchange. At some point, the Iron Order MC member shot and killed the Black Pistons MC member. The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is investigating the incident and there were apparently hundreds of others present at the event that need to be interviewed. Per the Iron Order MC website they are a lawful motorcycle club. They specifically state that they are not 1% ers. I do have some personal experience with the Iron Order MC and they have always been friendly and respectful at motorcycle events. They do have law enforcement members, but the club is not exclusive and has members from many walks of life. Here is a quote taken directly from the Iron Order MC website. "If you are law abiding, desire strong brotherhood and riding a motorcycle is not a solo event, maybe we are for you." The Black Pistons make no attempt to hide the fact that they are a support (puppet) club to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club. The Outlaws MC makes no attempt to hide the fact that they are an outlaw motorcycle gang (OMG) and claim 1%. Their website looks like most other boring OMG websites with very little actual information. I have no personal experience with any Black Pistons MC club members. Even with this information we are fair and balanced and will wait until the facts of this incident emerge! Then we can start forming an educated opinion. So, the rest is completely speculation at this point. Beware of what sources you choose on reporting truths about this incident. If a source is already judging one side or the other without much information then that should probably be a red flag that they have an agenda. No agenda here at Law Abiding Biker Podcast & Media, but only the truth backed by information will come when it is available, so stay tuned. Main Topic Our main topic of this episode comes from an email sent in by loyal listener and supporter James Dimitrious of California. James writes, "As you guys get ready for example your upcoming California trip, any particular safety or bike things to bring, things to have done to your bikes before leaving, etc. Probably already have this on a piece of paper for a future podcast, but who knows!" Things the Sworn Few Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club does prior to taking a long distance motorcycle trip and the things we bring along: Secretary LawDog (LD) of the Sworn Few MC Mother Chapter updates his emergency contact list for each patched member going and also for any prospective members or hang arounds. This just makes sense in the unfortunate event a wife or family member needs to be contacted. Great idea LD!! We do an oil/lube/filter on all our bikes if they are within 2,000 miles of needing a service. Of course we do our own maintenance and adjustments. Check out the very popular Law Abiding Biker Media free video we put out on how you can do your own maintenance on your Harley Davidson. LAB Media also has another very popular for sale video that instructs you in even more detail on how to maintain and safety check your Harley Davidson. We adjust our clutch levers and the clutch internally if necessary. We put out a free video on how to adjust your clutch cable and a free video on how to adjust your Harley Davidson clutch internally. We inspect our tires for cuts, nails, screws etc and replace if necessary. We replace our tires if they are close to only having 2/32" tread depth left or if the wear bars are showing. Ep 47LAB-47-Mettle Republic Public Safety Motorcycle Club (PSMC) | The Alliance
OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER WEBSITE ==> http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Call us at: (509) 731-3548 Podcast-In this episode I have the pleasure of speaking with Paul "Pablo" Harnett, National Road Captain of the Mettle Republic Public Safety Motorcycle Club (PSMC). We talk about what the Mettle Republic PSMC is all about, when it was founded, what the colors mean, the three piece patch, membership, officer positions, and so much more. You really must listen to this podcast episode to get all the details. Paul is very involved with the law abiding biker community. I talk with Paul about a newly formed organization named "The Alliance" that he is very involved with. The Alliance is dedicated to bringing all law abiding biker (LAB) clubs together for communication purposes, intelligence sharing, and cross-club brotherhood. The Alliance is very new at this point, but things are moving forward. There is no website right now, but you can check out the FaceBook Page to learn more and get involved. Keep checking in, as they have plans to launch a website. In Law Abiding Biker Podcast Episode #45 I interviewed John and Jossalyn Larson of the Blue Daos MC, who are also very involved with "The Alliance". Mettle Republic Motorcycle Club The following is written and approved by National Road Captain of the Mettle Republic Motorcycle Club Paul "Pablo" Harnett: The Mettle Republic PSMC is a law abiding, family friendly, socially responsible motorcycle club. Our members come primarily from the ranks of Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and military personnel. We allow select civilians and family members as well. Our goal was to be as inclusive as possible. The only absolute disqualifier from membership is a felony criminal record. All candidates are subject to criminal and personal background checks and a prospect period. Our colors are Silver, Black and Orange. Our symbol is a lions head in an armored mask which represents our commitment to a higher standard of behavior required of today's law abiding motorcycle club, and the fortitude to defend it. We currently hold to a single chapter in each state with each state operating independently under their own leadership. The national governance structure is to provide guidance to states in maintaining compliance with the club Constitution and By-laws. We are set up as a Republic. Our purpose is to provide brotherhood and friendship in sharing our love of motorcycling and participate in the various efforts to support our military and public safety agencies and personnel with the many challenges they face. Mettle Republic PSMC Club Oath: As a member of the Mettle Republic Motorcycle Club, I will remain faithful to God, Country, and Family. I will be mindful of the Democratic Values of my fellow citizens. I will stand ready serve others with Dignity, Respect, and Good Will. Ep 46LAB-46-Motorcycle Only Checkpoints? Should law abiding bikers be concerned? | The real facts & the American Motorcycle Association
GO HERE FOR THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER WEBSITE ==> http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-Get ready for this episode as we dive right into the very heated topic of "motorcycle only checkpoints" (MOC's). We break it down for the law abiding biker community and whether or not this really affects you as a motorcycle rider. Should this be something of great or little concern and is it going to take place in you area? There is a lot of incorrect information on this issue and we get to the bottom of things here on the Law Abiding Biker Podcast. We bring it to you from a balanced perspective with nothing to gain or lose on the matter, unlike many others reporting on it. This is quite a discussion and you just need to listen in to get the whole scoop. The American Motorcycle Association has been at the forefront of the battle against motorcycle only checkpoints. Although they make some good arguments, they also say some things that I don't necessarily agree with. They say things like: "We hope to see laws enacted to end the discriminatory and harmful law enforcement practice of targeting motorcyclists for stops that do nothing to improve the safety of our roads." I dissent and believe the AMA is uneducated by blaming motorcycle only checkpoints on "law enforcement". If the American Motorcycle Association did proper homework they would understand that these sorts of programs are developed well outside law enforcement agencies power and are trickled down to them. In fact, I think it would be fair to say that an overwhelming majority of law enforcement officers that ride motorcycles off duty are totally against motorcycle only checkpoints. Don't get me wrong, I support the AMA, but at times they speak before they completely understand certain matters and make statements like this. We agree that motorcycle only checkpoints do nothing to improve the safety of our roads, however just don't jump to conclusions and blame it on law enforcement. Properly blame it on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), who comes up with some of these ridiculous traffic safety programs and then gives out money to have it carried out by many that don't even believe in it. The NHTSA does have many good traffic safety programs that are very successful, but I believe they need to terminate motorcycle only checkpoints and put our tax money to better use. For the most part I agree with the American Motorcycle Associations stance and that motorcycle only checkpoints should not occur. However, the AMA has put a lot of hype on the issue to get more members. They are constantly running FaceBook and other social media ads referencing "stop motorcycle only checkpoints" and "sign up now". Again, I am totally against motorcycle only checkpoints & they are discriminatory, but don't use it to scare people and run a ton of paid FaceBook ads to try to get more members. Here is an article directly from the AMA about what has been spent, however you must keep it in perspective to the extremely large budget and what NHTSA funds. Again, I don't believe a penny of our tax money should be spent on this program, but please don't make it look worse than it is. The fact of the matter and in the scheme of the overall NHTSA budget, very little money has actually went into conducting motorcycle only checkpoints since 2007. And I do believe that is because the AMA has been right in their face about the matter, which is awesome. Hopefully the NHTSA will see the writing on the wall and stop motorcycle only checkpoints for good. In fact, Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming -- have prohibited checkpoints by statute and/or judicial action. Four states have since outlawed the practice, which are California, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia. Illinois and New Hampshire have prohibited the use of federal dollars for MOC's. The point is to make sure you know your facts about motorcycle only checkpoints and look at things from an unbiased position. Then you can form an educated position and make an informed decision. We strongly encourage you to oppose motorcycle only checkpoints and you can help doing so by signing the AMA's petition against them. Other information: *American Motorcyclist Association began tracking motorcycle-only checkpoints when they first appeared in New York in 2007 *GREAT OVERVIEW ARTICLE TO START WITH *In March 2011, using funds provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the state of Georgia conducted roadside motorcycle-only checkpoints as thousands of motorcyclists rode through the state on their way to Daytona Beach, Fla., for Bike Week *Another motorcycle-only checkpoint was conducted in northern Virginia during one of the nation's most visible motorcycle rallies -- Rolling Thunder -- over the 2011 Memorial Day weekend. *Motorcycle-only checkpoints were also conducted in 2010 in Utah following a U.S. round of the FIM Superbike World Champi

They have experience being in a LEMC club prior to assisting with the formation of the Blue Daos MC. From their past and current experiences they have some great insight into what makes a Law Abiding Biker Motorcycle Club work when membership is mixed with civilians and commissioned law enforcement. We talk about what the Blue Daos LEMC is all about, when it was founded, what the colors mean, the three piece patch, membership, officer positions, and so much more. John and Jossalyn are very involved with the law abiding biker community. Next we talk about the website that the Larson's recently got up and running called "Full Throttle Full Mag". The website and blog are all about law abiding biker motorcycle clubs. You can write something about your law abiding biker club and send a picture of your colors, so you can be featured on their website if you like. There are also some great resources on the Full Throttle Full Mag website, such as what to expect when starting a new law abiding biker motorcycle club and free motorcycle club bylaw templates. Ep 44LAB–44-My Motorcycle Gives me Wood? | Law Abiding Biker Clubs Everywhere
OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER WEBISTE ==> http://www.lawabidingbiker.com PODCAST-In this episode we try to answer the question on why so many law abiding biker clubs have formed in recent years. We completely approve of course and it is great to see! I dare say that there are more law abiding biker clubs than any other time in U.S. history. It is great to see the motorcycling majority (the ninety nine percenters) taking over the motorcycle biker scene in a huge way. I have "Clint" and "PopEye" in the studio with me to weigh in on this matter. Next, we talk about a recent news related motorcycle story. Apparently, a San Francisco Superior Court Judge recently dismissed lawsuits against BMW motorcycles and Corbin-Pacific Inc brought by a man who claimed that a motorcycle ride gave him an erection that lasted for several months. The man said that vibrations from his 1993 BMW K110RS and Corbin aftermarket seat resulted in a case of priapism, a condition in which a penis remains erect for a prolonged period of time. Of course we tear this lawsuit apart and think that BMW and Corbin seats should have capitalized on this little venture and put Viagra out of business! Heck, I'm still looking to buy a 1993 BMW K110RS with a Corbin seat, but they are all sold out after this story broke? Henry Wolfe, the plaintiff in this lawsuit, went about this thing all wrong by filing a lawsuit to try to get rich. Heck, he was already rich with the woody he had. He should have just went to the companies and marketed this thing right and he would be rich! So, you really have to listen in on this biker podcast episode to get the full scoop. I also plan to try it in the Street Glide when I complete the 5K service. I'll let you know how it does. Lastly, if you're reading this and considering buying Ryan's oil change/service/inspection video. DO IT…! It is thorough, informative, and nicely done. I also included a donation. My only request is that you guys use it towards the "Podcast Adult Beverage Fund". Have one on me! Podcast Episode #26 Free Maintenance Video For Sale Maintenance Video From: Rick Besser of Lacey, WA "Hey Ryan, Wonder if I might ask you a question about switching from standard oil to Synthetic. I Have 1000 miles on a 2013 fat bob and want to switch.. How do I make sure and get ALL the oil out of the Crank?? is there a trick to it?? Thank you in advance and love your site..Also the Europeans do as well!!" MY RESPONSE: "Don't worry about getting every last drop out. Just drain it normal and then switch to Synthetic. The Synthetic will take over from there on out. No sweat." From: From: Dick Curtis (Reference Law Abiding Biker Podcast Episode #38 titled: Belt final drive vs. Chain final drive) "I have my own experience to share regarding your 'belts rule, chains drool' episode. First, I think you should have stressed that type of drive shouldn't be the deciding factor. They all work well. And it's not practical to change from one type to another so pick your bike and just do what maintenance needs to be done. Second, lubrication takes about five minutes every other fuel stop. There are easy ways to keep it from being messy. Auto-oilers are available for $50 and up if you prefer that route. Modern chains don't stretch until it's near replacement time. Over fifty thousand miles you can expect to replace it four times ($400), sprockets twice ($160), lube it 150 times (let's guess a can of lube does it ten times @$8/can=$120) total $680. Add labor cost if you're not doing it yourself ($400). Breakage is a non-issue since most chains use a riveted master link. Changing sprockets is common on metric bikes. It can be done by the side of the road in fifteen minutes if you wanted to but unless you rode to the woods or a track day you probably wouldn't bother. Metric bikes turn 9000 rpm or even faster. A gear change can put you in the optimum part of the power band whatever your style of riding
