Courtney Ugle is a proud Noongar woman from Bunbury, WA, and the founder of Waangkiny: an organisation committed to breaking down the stigma of silence in First Nations communities. Since then Courtney has shared her story to ensure that no other young Indigenous person experiences what she did. Indigenous people are 33 times more likely to be hospitalised as a result of family and domestic violence, and eight times more likely to be killed as a result of family and domestic violence than non Indigenous counterparts, and in this episode Courtney helps us understand some of the reasons behind these stats. S1 Ep 442Let’s stop asking if people are pregnant
We’ve got a bit going on this week! First up - a group of content creators, founders & podcasters (mostly women) were invited to Canberra to attend the Budget lock-up and were dismissed as "self-obsessed Gen-Z and millennial influencers". We share our feelings about the term "influencer" and how we feel when it's applied to us. Plus we share some of the rogue DMs we’ve received recently. Someone told Laura she looked pregnant which inspired us to chat about the pressure women feel to suck their tummies in. And can men and women be friends? Not according to someone who saw Josh at a concert with his best (female) mate and messaged Steph about it. S1 Ep 434How we split the domestic load in our relationships
This week we’re talking about how we split up the domestic labour in our homes. A few weeks ago the HILDA survey (Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey) came out which found that men are doing the same amount of housework now as they were when the survey started…20 years ago. This made us reflect on how we do divvy up the chores in our homes. And! Do you brush your teeth before breakfast or after? What about shampoo or conditioner? We asked you which thing you do first and turns out they were more divisive than we thought. Lastly! Is anyone else sleeping on top of a piece of plastic? Matilda's book has become Steph's go-to recommendation for anyone wanting to learn more about ADHD, and especially ADHD in women. Because the thing is…ADHD presents verrrrry differently in women and girls compared to boys. Megan Luscombe has coached individuals and couples in relationships and business for over 12 years and she is our go-to for any relationship question! If 2025 is the year you want to prioritise your relationship…we made this episode for you. This week we ask Megan all the questions that we know come up at this time of year when we’re thinking about our relationships: how should I feel, how do I start a big conversation, how often should I do a relationship check-in & what should I ask, should we have the same values, should I give my partner an ultimatum if I’m not getting what I want, and why setting a goal for a weekly date night might not be the answer.
