Donald Trump's former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, now adds to his troubles being sued for more than $1 million by his own lawyers for failure to pay his legal bills. This development is on top on Giuliani: being an indicted RICO defendant/co-conspirator in Georgia; being an un-indicted co-conspirator in the federal prosecution of Trump in Washington, DC; admitting to lying about and defaming Georgia state election workers Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman; having his law license suspended in New York; being recommended for disbarment in DC; etc. Glenn wonders if Rudy ever asks himself if he should've chosen another path, given that the choices he's made thus far have landed him precisely where he is at this moment. Then, new reporting on Trump shows his latest incriminating statement, as reported by NBC News: "Trump demands Republicans shut down government to 'defund' his criminal prosecutions." Glenn says there are several problems with Trump's recent hair-brained scheme: first, law informants, including prosecutions, are considered "essential governmental functions" and are exempt from federal government shutdowns. Second, Trump's statements may actually constitute an attempt to obstruct justice. Third, even if not technically a violation of federal obstruction of justice laws, his statements are powerful and admissible consciousness of guilt evidence. During Donald Trump's interview on Meet the Press, he told lie after lie after lie, continuing his attempts to poison all future jury pools. Several media organizations, then attempted to publish articles - fact checking and correcting Trump's stream of lies. On the upside, Trump said things that destroyed his potential "advice of counsel" defense, so some may say, let Trump keep taking as he continues to incriminate himself. But at this point, Trump has incriminated himself so many times, that there's no value in continuing to platform him. However, when he's given airtime, his jury pool poisoning lies continue to imperil the people's right to a fair trial. Glenn says it's time for Judge Chutkan to issue a gag order and it's also time for all responsible news organizations to stop platforming Trump's lies. Then, new reporting has revealed that Trump's long-time executive assistant, Molly Michael, provided the FBI and federal prosecutors sharply incriminating evidence against him. She said Trump often wrote "to-do" lists on classified documents and gave them to her. Perhaps even worse, when the federal government was attempting to retrieve the boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago, Trump told Ms. Michael, "You don't know anything about the boxes." He then asked Ms. Michael to falsely "Spread the word that there are no more boxes," even though she knew Trump was retaining dozens and dozens of boxes. Indeed, she even took pictures of the boxes at Mar-a-Lago and those photos ended up as exhibits in the federal indictment of Trump. In a new court filing, Special Counsel Jack Smith absolutely destroys the efforts by Donald Trump's attorneys to try to remove Judge Tanya Chutkan from presiding over Trump's federal trial in DC for attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. After hearing extensive evidence of election crimes from Donald Trump and his many criminal associates, the Georgia state special grand jury recommended indicting 40 individuals. A federal judge just ruled that Mark Meadows failed to even make the minimal showing that his Georgia RICO prosecution should be transferred from state court to federal court. This finding is likely to be fatal to any effort Trump may have mounted to try to move HIS case to federal court.
