Ep 287: Streamline Your Workflow with Igor Kheifets

Igor Kheifets shares his insight into how to leverage automation and passive income generation. He emphasizes how to make money without having to work all the time and explains how he learned to do this after his girlfriend left him because he was too focused on his work. Elzie joins the conversation and they talk about how emails can help you reach more people and have successful businesses. They discuss ways to get things done faster like using templates or automating processes so that you don't have to spend so much time doing them yourself. They then examine how to eliminate friction points in order to increase productivity. If you're looking for ways to streamline your workflow and automate processes so that you can focus on more important tasks, this episode of the podcast is a must-listen! Tune in to get valuable insights into increasing productivity and learn how to make money without sacrificing relationships or dedicating too much time to work. Episode Highlights05:49 - When I started my podcast, and I've now had my podcast, the List Building Lifestyle Show, for a few years, I ran into a challenge where I had to record introductions for every single episode. And when you publish five a week, it gets repetitive. And anything that's repetitive I tried to eliminate from my life, whether it's cooking or cleaning, whether it's recording introductions, whether it's sending emails, anything that's repetitive, and I believe it can be automated.11:40 - Where making a lot of money was no longer in and of itself a goal. It had to come with the condition that I had to make the money without having to slave away for it or being away from home. So, this one I'm saying that later, I actually did go into consulting briefly for about a year. But I quickly discovered that if I wasn't on the phone with clients, I wasn't getting paid. So, that made the whole consulting gig for me kind of yucky, and so I moved away from that I transitioned from that. And now the model is completely different. I'm moved into a more leveraged model, where I still deliver the value for people, but I don't have to do it in person.14:24 - If you get on their list, you start getting emails like non-stop. And the reason is because email is still the number one medium to get response from people and customers in general. If you want to sell an idea, if you want to sell a product, if you want to get an audience to listen to your next podcast, or if you really just want people to hang on your every word and to support your every cause, it's the email list that you're looking to build. Ep 283: Adapting to Change and Innovating Responsibly with Adonica Randall

Adapting to change and innovating responsibly is the key to success in today's business world. Companies must be able to recognize changes in their environment, understand how these changes will affect them, and then take appropriate action. Adonica Randall, President and Chief Problem Solver of Abaxent, LLC has been successful in doing just that by staying attuned to cues from social media, news outlets, and other sources of information. She believes that businesses should focus on solving people’s problems while also benefiting partners, employees, and those around them. As a result of her adaptability and innovation mindset, she has been able to build an international team of remote workers who are dedicated to helping customers find what they need. Her advice for others looking for success is simple: always strive towards providing services or products someone wants as it serves no value if nobody needs it. Learn how she pays attention to news programs and stock markets. Tune in now to gain insight into navigating ever-changing markets and making positive change through remote work!Episode Highlights14:59 - You feel you know more than everybody else. Therefore, you don't have to change. That's a bad one. You're not paying attention to the things that you should be paying attention to. The cues, the things that are coming at you, and whether they're coming from social media or coming from the news. You're not paying attention to what they're saying, because it's the old X-file thing. The truth is out there. You got to know it when you see it. And if you're not paying attention, then you don't see it. You miss it and say, "I don't understand how this happened and now we have to close our business."20:00 - When I started in the 70s, there were a handful of less than 40 technology companies. They were all big names and not a whole bunch of side ones or small ones, and it was easy to control. So, you could have a business that had people who only did Microsoft. There wasn't even a Google in those days. I mean, they only did Microsoft stuff and they only did these kinds of programs. Fast forward to where we are now, there's over 5,000 of these companies. No company can have enough people on staff that do those 5,000 things. It's physically impossible. IBM can't do it and being an ex -IBMer, if IBM can't do it, nobody can do it as far as I'm concerned. So, you don't have the capacity to do that realistically.27:58 - We put ourselves in the place of solving people's problems because we like helping people. Helping people has brought our partners along with us, and they benefit from what we do. When they benefit, then their employees benefit, and all the people around us benefit. If the business has a purpose–and I listened to somebody the other day because they talked about entrepreneurs–and the thing is if you have a service that nobody wants, it serves no value. So, the goal is to always be on the front edge of something somebody wants.29:33 - Twenty years ago, this would probably be hard to do, because the communication would not be as flawless as it is now. You'd virtually be on the moon and have instant communication, so we just need to be in contact with each other. I would pretty much say everybody on the staff says, "Oh, well, I'm going to take these two or three days off, but I'm taking my laptop." That means don't bother me for miscellaneous stuff, but if something comes up, I'm available and I can get it on the laptop. Everybody sort of has that attitude. I find it interesting that these companies are freaking out about putting butts back in seats for remote workers versus not. It's really not about remote workers versus not, it's about real estate. Ep 278: Embracing Life Changes with an Enterprising Spirit with Clarene Mitchell

We're talking about an inspiring journey taken by one woman, Clarene Mitchell, who recently decided to leave her home, embark on a road trip, and move to Tulsa, Oklahoma. For her, this was a pilgrimage of sorts - the centennial anniversary of the 1921 Race Massacre that occurred in Tulsa was fast approaching and she felt drawn to visit. There, she wrote an article about her experience which got published locally as well as on LinkedIn. Now, Clarene is taking on entrepreneurship to help rebuild Black Wall Street/Greenwood District. Let's dive into her extraordinary story – from why she decided to make such a big change in her life to what she has learned along the way. It explores entrepreneurship through a unique lens of cultural identity, hope for the future, and how each of us can help bring about positive change in our own communities. Tune in to find out how entrepreneurship can give rise to some of life's greatest opportunities. Join us for an inspiring episode where Clarene shares advice on creating quality content that resonates with your audience and tips on striking a balance between virtual and personal engagements.Episode Highlights10:20 - It was a chain of events that happened really that made it possible or doable. Again, I didn't have a job. So, I did the traditional thing that everyone is told to do. Go use LinkedIn, right? I had a profile for years, but I wasn't using it because it's the mindset or I had the mindset like people do still today that you just use it when you need a job. So, I started using it and using it more proactively and consistently because I was bored to death, and I needed to stay intellectually active. So, I was using LinkedIn in different ways than I had done before.22:33 - This is joy tears because I know the journey He's brought me on and you talked about looking back. I know how far He's brought me with my business. I think about my first client and how happy I was when I got paid. Compared to what I get paid now, it wasn't a lot. And that's the growth, like being able to charge my worth and learning the journey of getting to that worth point. That moment when I got that first payment from a LinkedIn coaching client, and going from meeting some at a coffee shop and just being nice and doing that to it being an official meeting and being paid for my expertise on the spot. That was really the first one.26:20 - There's so much more you can do on LinkedIn content-wise. I always say it's not necessarily what you post on LinkedIn, it's how you post it, right? So, it could be the same kind of content you post on another platform, but there's certain ways that you have to maybe spin it or adjust it so that it works on LinkedIn. I can see, all day, I'm scrolling on LinkedIn and see people posting. Where's the comments? Where's the engagement? Where's the community building? What value are you providing? Where it's not just about you, but it's about contributing, educating, empowering, inspiring, and helping people to really learn and see you as a subject matter expert, secondary, but first, being able to see you as someone who provides value.35:10 - In reference to the business, I still see myself—I went mostly virtual, really exclusively virtual because of the pandemic, and it's worked well for my business. So, I don't see that changing, and that's a part of even me moving to Tulsa and being a part of the Tulsa remote program because I have a home-based business or a remote-based business, but I do want to get back to incorporating more in-person speaking. Before the pandemic, I was traveling the country speaking. It sounds crazy to some people, especially the introverts of the world. I'm not an introvert, so I love being on stages in front of hundreds of people and speaking. Tune in to hear all about how entrepreneurship coaching can help you take your business forward no matter where you are. With interesting insights shared by Clarene and tips on striking a balance between virtual and personal engagements, don't miss out on this inspiring episode!Episode Highlights03:03 - In reference to the business, I still see myself—I went mostly virtual, really exclusively virtual because of the pandemic, and it's worked well for my business. So, I'm looking forward to getting back to doing that now that we're moving further away from the pandemic. Elzie and Clarene discuss the importance of creating quality content when it comes to entrepreneurship. Where it's not just about you, but it's about contributing, educating, empowering, inspiring, and helping people to really learn and see you as a subject matter expert, secondary, but first, being able to see you as someone who provides value.Ready To Go Deeper? If today’s episode resonated, don’t just move on to the next one. Ep 272: Dare to Differentiate to Unlock Your Success with Chanto Chanthavong

Elzie is joined by Chanto Chanthavong who talks about the concept of personal mastery and how he was able to accomplish his goals. Chanto believes that destiny is the pin on the map and free will is the route you take there, and he has found success navigating his own destiny with free will. He shares his story of getting off the grid, focusing only on business social media and how this enabled him to come into his own. Chanto is also the founder of Lifeline Systems, a company providing support for gig workers in the form of safety vehicles and health insurance benefits. He believes that the new economy is being enabled by the internet of things and coaching for entrepreneurs entering business for the first time is about to explode because of it - Lifeline Systems plans to bridge this gap between launching a business and successfully running one. This promises to be an inspiring journey, so tune in! Episode Highlights12:45 - How can you have destiny and free will? There's no way. I'll explain it. Destiny is your destination. That's the pin on the map and your free will is the route you take there. So, you're free to take any route you want, but once you embrace that you have the control in certain elements of the formula, then you know you're not going to try to control the constant. You're going to try to change the variable.19:02 - The new economy has really been enabled by the Internet of things. So, as more devices and everything gets connected to the internet, that opens those additional doors for humans to interact and to connect through these Internet devices. And so, that's what I see in the future is that I can take a picture with my light bulb and play some LEDs off it. Who would have ever even thought about that? So, now that opens up the free thinking. So, for people to think 10 years ago who say, "Hey, I have an app idea," but it's so daunting, just how to get it done. The proposal itself is 10 pages. But now, 10 years later, they can just go online. It's a drag and drop app builder that they can prototype in one hour. So, now we're able to just bring our ideas and manifest them way easier than just pen and paper now.26:50 - I would say the best thing to do is do your due diligence, your self-recon into the space you want to go to, and you want to assess, and you want to really make sure that someone else isn't doing what you're already doing. There's nothing wrong because Uber's already doing what we're doing, but we have a different spin on it. Which is what? My advice is to make sure you find your spin on it. Ep 268: Fuel Your Entrepreneurial Spirit with Max Gerson

In this episode, Elzie talks to Max Gerson, the owner of Brand Wolfe, a company that specializes in marketing and branding about how entrepreneurship isn't just a map, but a story. He explains the importance of building and nourishing customer loyalty and how it can be the biggest threat to any brand. Max speaks about unlocking personal mastery through truth and knowing yourself better in order to stay on track when pursuing success. Max further discusses focusing on your goals and purpose in life, being honest with yourself, and talking about internal narratives objectively. If you're looking to fuel your entrepreneurial dreams, listen to Max for tips on staying centered and focused while climbing up to success. You'll get valuable insights into understanding yourself even more deeply, hearing stories from Max's own experience, as well as figuring out ways of staying motivated and achieving what you want in life. Tune in now to learn how entrepreneurial success isn't as far away as you may think - entrepreneurial dreams can become reality if you take the right steps!Episode Highlights14:07 - These are lessons that I think about hourly that I'll never forget. The biggest threat to any brand is growth and success. And the more of it, the riskier it gets. When you have success without a strong foundation, self-awareness, understanding, it doesn't have to be brand strategy. That's what I call it. But it's really just about understanding your brand and your business. Telling yourself the truth about things. Most of us just don't do that anymore. But when you have that success, it's like building a skyscraper in the sand. The taller it goes, the harder it can fall. 17:46 - I think the thing that I'm aware of today is that boundaries have been the biggest hurdle in both my personal and my professional life. And I was completely unaware of that until I started working with my first business coach, and it shows up in relationships. It's very difficult to buy brand strategy to sell brand strategy. It's tough to price it. I became aware of the fact that I'm a huge people pleaser. It's just true that you don't have to love the strategy or the creative, but I really have a need in myself to get like an "Attaboy!" from the client, and I'm just aware of it. But I think the personal mastery really just boils down to one thing and it's truth, right? You just have to be able to tell yourself the truth about the stories in your head.31:08 - If you're in B2B and you're selling services, like how do people buy this stuff? They don't come to your website and open up their wallet and give you $20,000. It's a relationship. They need to know you and trust that you're not risky, and that you're the right type of solution for what they need because it's tough to buy any B2B service. When we put on pants, we know if they fit or not. How can we tell if this IT team is the right for us, if this marketing agency is the right fit for us? So, even if you're not actively podcasting, having that content on your site, having it be findable. If a client comes to me and they've been on the website, and they've listened to the content, and they're telling me that they did, they are so much further along the path. That is such a warmer lead, and it's helpful because we're trying to help them. Marketing is the process of disqualification. Marketing is the process of saying no to everything and yes to the right things.32:13 - Your symptoms might not be your sources. This might actually be the secret to life, you tell me, but it's decide to decide. If you can commit to that first step, everything else will happen. Right? How do we eat an elephant? Ep 264: Storytelling as a Strategy with Max Gerson

Bringing clients to the right destination requires more than just a map. Max's expertise lies in his ability to tell stories of his own experiences and create an organized system out of them. With this knowledge, he empowers those around him on their journey towards success. If there's one thing to remember when it comes to successful branding, never forget the people who are loyal to you. Captivating and nourishing your customer base is critical — if they leave, so could all that you've built up over time. Listen to Max to know the biggest threat to any brand.Episode Highlights02:56 - These are lessons that I think about hourly that I'll never forget. Ep 263: Learning the Science of Networking with Lorry Rifkin

In this episode, Elzie is joined by the amazing Lorry Rifkin, who is the Chief Networking Officer of Supercharged Networking and the man behind #LunchWithLorry. He is also a Founding Partner of Accounting Solutions of Wisconsin. Lorry is an introvert who has taken his passion for patterns and statistics and turned it into entrepreneurship. When it comes to networking, Lorry believes that building relationships should always come before business objectives, and that approaching networking like a mathematical equation can eventually lead to success. They also discuss how vulnerability opens doors when making better connections and highlight different phases or seasons in networking. Lorry's drive for success is rooted in his insatiable curiosity, a trait that has motivated him to achieve great things thus far. Lorry also emphasizes that sales don't necessarily always equate to profits - a common issue amongst business owners without cash flow due to not focusing enough on what happens in the middle compared to just looking at top-line or bottom-line results. Tune in to hear why building a solid foundation within your business is essential before you start growing it, and discover why minding existing contacts rather than constantly seeking out new ones elsewhere is also crucial. Episode Highlights05:08 - I never do things conventionally and my networking wasn't designed to go out there networking to get business. It was to meet people. I call it "supercharged networking." It's to develop relationships first and business will follow. And if you do it that way, it was easier for me, because I originally tried networking. "Hi, Elzie. What do you do? I'm an accountant. Do you have a job for me?" And I learned that's not networking. I don't have a relationship out of that. COVID caused the start of Lunch with Lorry. I would take people out to lunch and I literally write their life story in a post on LinkedIn all about them, and I learned everything about them. I learned what questions to ask and started having relationships with that, When you write about someone else and promote them, they remember you. And that's the form of networking I like.13:29 - Again, I wasn't smart enough to pre-plan all this, but I will tell you how it worked. First, it was general networking and build a big, wide, great network. Ultimately, one aim is to get business. So, the seasons isn't as much as I talked about the audience. So, I focus a lot more on private networking events where the general public can't come. It could be a private equity event. It could be a bank Christmas party, stuff that the whole public can't come to. And that sometimes has, for me, more of my target audience in the business world. So, you have phases. You might want to start out with general network. Meet as many people as you can. That will lead to invitations over time to go into private network events, which are more targeted and could wind up better for you. It doesn't mean that the business is right there. You have to work that, too, but it's a different audience.17:22 - Sales are not profits and profits are not cash in the bank. And at the end of the day, if you don't have cash, you really don't have a business. And so, some of the fastest growing customers I've seen were also the ones most vulnerable to going broke.  Here's a Lorryism. You always have to keep your infrastructure of your business ahead of your sales curve. If you do not do that, you're like the Road Runner and a coyote. You're looking over that cliff, and there's no infrastructure to support you. So, that's another thing. Those things go together. You got to control your growth to have enough cash in the bank or have enough cash to allow you to borrow money because the bank thinks you're credit-worthy and you have to develop your infrastructure with people. Procedures and practices has to stay ahead of your sales curve so you have a foundation to grow on.20:05 - I replaced a lot of accountants and accounting firms. My customers always have an accountant or someone. But one thing I tell them, "Has your accountant ever brought you customers?" Because one of the things that all this networking does, it allows me – you sell that. I have this guy who buys this. You guys have to meet. And that cross fertilization is where – networks are a bunch of interconnected points. The more you connect things, the more powerful the network becomes. And so, if you're always helping people you meet, even if you don't get anything in return. "I have a customer for you. Oh, here's a potential employee. Have you checked out this vendor? You should come over my house and have a drink. You look like you're stressed." All those things build your network and overtime – again, I started really late in my 50s. If I started in my 20s, oh, my God, I'd be retired by now because all those points accumulate and compound over time that just make you a person that people have to be around or deal with.Ready To

Ep 262: Shifting Strategies and Minding the Best People with Lorry Rifkin

As businesses move into the future, entrepreneurs may find the need to adjust their strategies from time to time in order to stay competitive. An important strategy for businesses is to ensure that they have access to the best possible people. Networking is an important part of life, but it can be challenging to know to whom you should devote more time. It's easy to get caught up in meeting lots of people and feel like the more connections you make, the better off you'll be. However, Lorry Rifkin states that each person added to your network has a lower marginal value. Therefore, it's important to take the time to assess who you have met and decide if they are valuable additions to your network or not. It's better to invest in meaningful connections that bring value than grow a superficial list of contacts. So, mindful curation of your network is essential in order to reap real rewards from the people you meet. Tune in to learn what pivotal steps you need to do in order to maximize your current network! Episode Highlights02:16 - I replaced a lot of accountants and accounting firms. My customers always have an accountant or someone. Ep 261: Understanding Profit Beyond Just Sales with Lorry Rifkin

Making a profit is the ultimate goal of any business, but too often it is solely attributed to sales. That's undoubtedly a big component in achieving success; however, there are many other aspects that come into play when looking to maximize profitability. Lorry Rifkin expresses that there's more to profit than just sales.Sales and profits may go hand in hand, but they don't necessarily indicate the cash that a business will take home. Real cash requires more thought because that doesn't always mean dollars in your pocket like profits do on paper. Lorry highlights the importance of controlling entrepreneur's business growth so they can stay ahead of the sales curve. Listen to learn how to maximize value while maintaining stability!Episode Highlights01:11 - Sales are not profits and profits are not cash in the bank. Lorry Rifkin started "Lunch with Lorry" which was networking to a pure basis without any business part to it.Lorry states that during their workshops, people were willing to share deeply personal insights and experiences that they usually don't reveal to others. Thus, strong connections allow us to enrich our lives by introducing new perspectives and ideas while providing emotional support when needed. Ep 258: Unlock Your True Entrepreneurial Potential with William Deck

Unlock Your True Entrepreneurial Potential with William Deck In this episode, Elzie talks to William Deck, the Founder of MindBusiness, about entrepreneurship and how it relates to mental fitness. William emphasizes the importance of being genuine rather than catering to external expectations. He also explains that self-sabotage is what often prevents entrepreneurs from achieving their goals and reaching success, so it is vital for entrepreneurs to recognize their own mental limitations to prevent this from happening.  William also discusses how understanding oneself is key to being able to present one's true self authentically. He recommends asking important fundamental questions that impact the quality of our life and being open-minded and listening to others to identify what you don't know and move forward with your business.  Tune in to learn why it's necessary to communicate openly with family about potential sacrifices, as well as making sure that joy is at the center of everything that is done both personally and professionally. Episode Highlights  02:27 - I think we've been taught to focus on the externals, like who we are based on what people perceive us as or who we are based on what we think people will need us to be, as opposed to simply learning how to be, how to be present with yourself. 11:09 - I think once again we all have unlimited potential. That's something that I believe deeply. The question is, "How can we identify the barriers within us?" Right? So, I don't think that there are necessarily external foes that could keep us from getting to our goals, but the enemy within or the inner me, if you break down the word enemy into inner me, that's going to be our biggest threat to our success. The unresolved traumas, the fear, the doubt, the worry, the feelings of unforgiveness and unworthiness that may have stemmed from childhood. Just simply being able to understand those and to be able to move past them. That's one of the biggest keys. So, I totally agree because no one can stop us put ourselves. 28:36 - It's good to have a strong sense of self, but that includes knowing or identifying what you don't know and what you don't understand, and reaching out and connecting with people and organizations or whatnot early and often to be able to help to fill those gaps in knowledge, in ability to take action on certain things, building platforms – whatever it may be – building a website.  36:24 - Begin with the end in mind. As you begin to think about and conceive some of these ideas, what are the actual outcome? How can you uniquely add value to the marketplace based on your natural skill set or what brings you joy? There's always a way. But what is the end goal? What is that feeling, that outcome that would make everything that you do worthwhile? Think about that first and get really clear on what that is. Connect with ElzieWebsiteLinkedInEmailConnect with William DeckWebsiteLinkedInInstagramFacebook

Ep 249: Strategies for Successful Entrepreneurship with Jan Cavelle

In this episode, Elzie interviews Jan Cavelle, an UK-based author who enjoys helping out other entrepreneurs, through writing, speaking, and mentoring. Jan believes that a healthy economy comes from supporting start-ups and scale-ups. She has written a book called Scale For Success and is releasing another one called Start for Success: The Entrepreneur's Guide to Start-ups.They talk about the importance of resilience and empathy for salespeople and how being self-motivated and doing research are key to success. It is also important to build relationships with clients and understand their needs to provide them with what they want or need. They discuss personal mastery and how Jan is able to take the concept of perseverance and turn it into action. When asked about the mental challenges faced by entrepreneurs, Jan says that it is incredibly hard and that salespeople often fall into the trap of becoming addicted to sales results. Listen to learn about the importance of investing in training quality people as a business grows and why leaders should do what is best for businesses, even if it means making tough decisions.Episode Highlights03:50 - You have to make yourself do lots of research and really get the data on your client, and get to know them, so you don't waste your pitching. But also I think these days, you're not talking about the sort of selling that used to go on of, "Hey, look at my product. I'm wonderful." You're looking at actually communicating with people, having empathy with the pain points or their desires, whichever it is, but relation to their emotions and that takes empathy.12:55 - When you're on your own, I think just having that discipline in the numbers game is probably enough, but you have to also look at the result's side. It's no use making ten large calls every single day and never getting a sale. You have to check the metrics of the quality of results you're getting. If it's not working, you've got to work out why and reassess but keeping going will get you there.21:09 - I think I didn't invest in the right quality people. There comes a time when you grow that you need some people who ideally are better than you, who are going to drive the business forward. I had people who'd been working for me and I thought, "They're lovely people. They've been here since the beginning." 28:15 - One of the biggest and most important things for any entrepreneur is self-development. If you don't actually prioritize yourself and develop your skills, protect your mental health, become more and more of a leader everyday. Founder is not a leader, or very rarely, and certainly a first time founder has an awful long way to go to turn themselves into a visionary leader. Ep 248: Visionary Leadership for Entrepreneurs with Jan Cavelle

Elzie and Jan Cavelle discuss the importance of thought leadership, personal mastery, and storytelling in relation to business. Jan highlights the importance of self-development for any entrepreneur, emphasizing that it takes time, devotion, effort, sacrifice and dedication to become a visionary leader. She also points out the necessity of prioritizing oneself and protecting one's mental health to succeed in business. Jan's advice is invaluable for entrepreneurs looking to improve their skills and develop professionally."Founders oftentimes don't start off as visionary leaders" is an insightful quote for entrepreneurs. Jan Cavelle's response further expands on this idea, offering that people start businesses for many different reasons, and that even a great idea doesn't always equate to being a leader. To be successful, entrepreneurs must become visionary and be able to effectively sell why their business exists. This is a professional reminder that starting a business does not necessarily make one a leader and that additional effort is needed to become one.Episode Highlights00:43 - One of the biggest and most important things for any entrepreneur is self-development. Ep 244: Digital Marketing for Experienced Entrepreneurs with Adam McChesney

Are you an experienced entrepreneur looking to take your digital marketing to the next level? In this episode, Elzie interviews the owner of Hite Digital St. Louis, Adam McChesney, who helps business owners create awareness, generate leads, and drive revenue with customized marketing strategies. If you're looking to up your digital marketing game, then this episode is for you! They talk about digital assets, which are anything that can be used to improve a website's google rank or generate calls and leads for a business, and include items such as blog posts, infographics, e-books, and videos. They dive into developing high-quality digital content which can help ensure that businesses' websites are seen by as many people as possible. They also discuss setting realistic expectations for what a product or service can do for a prospect's business to improving close rates. So, if you're ready to take your business' marketing efforts up a notch, then don't miss this episode!Episode Highlights:05:05 - In the digital real estate realm, I get to the first page of Google and I'm just renting every single call whether it's a monthly fee or pay per call and I'm doing that and you're basically paying me per commission or however it works out. So, it protects me as the digital marketing agency. I didn't just put two years' worth of work in and now the customer leaves. It also created an interesting opportunity for me. We had an auto glass website here in St. Louis that ranked to the first page of Google and started producing three, four hundred, five hundred calls a month. And every single company that I tried to rent those calls out to were like, man, we don't even get that many calls ourselves. This is a lot of calls.08:53 - My profile and all my content is geared towards 90% what it is like to be an entrepreneur, 10% digital marketing, but it's always telling a story and connecting that to something that our clients experience so that way the potential client on the other end can get tied into that story and just be like, "Man, if I just hired Adam and his team, maybe I could experience those things." But by doing so I've opened up. I've been super vulnerable. Here's what is not going well in business. Here's what is. But I tell the story so that way whether people like my stuff, comment, share it or not, they just see it. They're like, "Man, Adam is a real human. He is a digital marketer but he's an entrepreneur and a human just like myself." And so that gets me a ton of business.13:11 - The key is that expectation setting. So, when you get 10 phone calls from Google, these people don't know your brand for the most part, right? They are potentially price shopping. But they potentially just also need someone that's going to take care of them, give them a fair price and exceed their expectations. Whereas if you get 10 referrals from word of mouth or Susie down the street, you're probably going to close most of them. So, digital markers will say, "Hey, a lead is a lead." It's not. The leads that you get from digital marketing and the leads that you get from referrals and past customers are two completely different things. So, educating them on that process and then also understanding their business.Connect with ElzieWebsiteLinkedInEmailConnect with AdamLinkedInWebsiteInstagramPowered By Podcast Town We Help B2B Brands grow their revenue through podcasting. Ep 243: How to Tighten Your Close Rate with Adam McChesney

As a business owner, one of your main goals is to close sales and earn revenue. In order to do this, you need to have a strong close rate - the percentage of prospects who turn into paying customers. There are a number of things you can do to improve your close rate, but one of the most important is setting the right expectations. When you first start working with a prospect, take the time to understand their business. What are their goals? What are their pain points? By taking the time to learn about their business, you'll be able to set realistic expectations for what your product or service can do for them. This will help you avoid overselling, which can lead to disappointment and lost sales. Instead, focus on setting achievable goals that will provide real value for your prospect's business. By doing so, you'll be well on your way to improving your close rate.Episode Highlight01:03 - The key is that expectation setting. So when you get 10 phone calls from Google, these people don't know your brand for the most part, right? They are potentially price shopping but they potentially just also need someone that's going to take care of them, give them a fair price and exceed their expectations. This can include things like blog posts, infographics, e-books, and even videos. And while some businesses may have more digital assets than others, virtually all businesses can benefit from developing a strong online presence. After all, in today's day and age, it's simply not enough just to have a website - you need to have a website that is ranking high in search engines and generating leads. That's where digital assets come in. By developing high-quality content, businesses can help ensure that their websites are seen by as many people as possible, which can ultimately lead to more customers and more sales.Episode Highlight:01:00 - In the digital real estate realm, I get to the first page of Google and I'm just renting every single call whether it's a monthly fee or pay per call and I'm doing that and you're basically paying me per commission or however it works out. So it protects me as the digital marketing agency. I didn't just put two years worth of work in and now the customer leaves. It also created an interesting opportunity for me. We had an auto glass website here in St. Louis that ranked to the first page of Google and started producing three, four hundred, five hundred calls a month and every single company that I tried to rent those calls out to were like, man, we don't even get that many calls ourselves. This is a lot of calls.Connect with ElzieWebsiteLinkedInEmailConnect with AdamLinkedInWebsiteInstagramPowered By Podcast Town We Help B2B Brands grow their revenue through podcasting. Ep 240: The Growth Hacker's Edge with Sabir Semerkant

In this episode, the main conversation topics revolve around the world of entrepreneurship, conducting business using a scientific method, and mastering the ego to be a better business leader and to make better business decisions. Sabir Semerkant's background is in computer science, which he leverages to help businesses grow through marketing and customer acquisition strategies. He explains how it requires time, work, and commitment to develop a thriving business as an entrepreneur. In the course of running your business, you should develop the habit of routinely putting your theories to the test and making adjustments in response to the results of those tests. Entrepreneurs need a competitive edge and that's what Elzie and Sabir dive deep into this podcast episode. Growth hacking requires more than just being an entrepreneur; it requires a penchant for thinking outside the box. Tune in to find out how you can keep learning and exploring to grow and gain new skills, which will give you the drive and determination to get closer to your business goals.Episode Highlights:02:42 - You can learn it but the thing is, you do need to have that knack that gives you that edge, otherwise, you're going through the mechanics of entrepreneurship. You're not really thinking, I hate to use the phrase thinking out of the box. But you're not thinking out of the box you're thinking like, "Oh, you know what? I need to go through these 12 steps. I need to go through these six things. I need to do SEO optimization. I need to do this and that." You're going through the mechanics of it, but you cannot really think outside the box to really – how do you take a product that has no presence nobody knows about it to becoming a household name? That cannot be your basic marketing classes that you took. You have to have some interesting side of you that you think very differently in order to bring that product and make it a household name.06:50 - To me, I would never say I'm right. Ever. Like as soon as you say that, go like, "Oh, you know what? I was right about that five dollar coupon. Look at how many people came back." Don't do that to yourself. Don't ever do that. In every boardroom, every executive management boardroom, and everyone of those meetings, everybody looks at a north star person, right? The CEO is right. The CMO is right. The VP of Marketing is right. She is right because she is the VP of, whatever, product management, right? As soon as you do that, you're bound to fail 100%.12:16 - It's a lot of self-reflection. It's a lot of looking deeper into yourself to see, "Did this thing fail because we did the wrong things or did it fail because of what I did?" Because if you mistreated one of your top developers on the team - engineers - and the person is now just collecting a paycheck and doesn't care about anybody's success, your success or company's success, nothing, to them it's just a paycheck. They'll come in. They'll do the bare minimum that's needed. Did they turn into that person because of the way you treated them as a leader?Connect with ElzieWebsiteLinkedInEmailConnect with Sabir SemerkantLinkedInWebsiteInstagramPowered By Podcast Town We Help B2B Brands grow their revenue through podcasting. Ep 238: What is the Scientific Method of Business? with Sabir Semerkant

As an entrepreneur, one of the most important things you can do is always question your assumptions and be willing to change your mind. This is what the scientific method is all about: constantly testing your hypotheses and then adapting based on the results. In business, this means that you should never blindly follow the "experts" or think that you are always right. Instead, always be willing to experiment and learn from your mistakes. This approach will help you stay flexible and agile, two essential qualities for any successful business.Episode Highlight:00:42 - To me, I would never say I'm right. Ever.
