04/12/20 - Journey To The Cross (Easter)
Join us for our sermon series leading up to Easter entitled Journey To The Cross. In this series, we will look back at the dramatic events surrounding Jesus’ arrest in Gethsemane, interrogation before His enemies and Pilate, crucifixion at Calvary, and resurrection from the grave. In the Gospel account, we encounter Jesus as He calmly faces down His opponents and, ultimately, His own death on the cross. In the process, the incarnate Son of God, Messiah, and true King confronts us with His work on our behalf to offer salvation. It is a difficult story to read, but is real and has a deep meaning for each of our lives. The series will include Good Friday services and will conclude on Easter Sunday with the story of the Resurrection!

03/15/20 - Sent
Most people long for a life directed by a mission. If only we had special orders, a divine commission, a unique task, a clear calling, our lives would become filled with purpose and meaning. Jesus led the most purpose-driven life that has ever been lived. It filled His every thought, and fueled His every step. He often spoke of being "sent." Phrases such as "The Father has sent me" and "Him who sent me," and the deep sense of purpose and mission that entailed, flowed from the lips of Jesus more than 30 times in the gospel of John alone. And then, just before His crucifixion, Jesus delivers these staggering words: “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21). The very mission and purpose of Jesus, the most significant life that has ever lived, has been passed on: To us. In this series, we will explore the life-changing idea of "Sent" - what it means, what it holds and how it can be fulfilled.

12/22/19 - Christmas At Journey
This Christmas amid all the chaos and joy we are going to be focusing ourselves on the arrival of Jesus. Come and celebrate the birth of Jesus with us at Journey, as we lift up the light of the world and true reason for this season. On December 15th we'll begin a three-part series based on the significance of Christmas in our lives today, culminating on Christmas Eve, where we’ll be celebrating Jesus birth with a Candle-light service together as a Church. In our day and age we are confronted by sin and brokenness at every turn, so we have every reason to look to the love of God which came to us in the form of a child so many years ago. Join us as we place Jesus at the center of this season and remember the hope, life, and peace He gives.

11/03/19 - WOKE
If there's a single word that has emerged on the cultural scene of late demanding attention, it's "woke." It used to mean just being "with it" - on top of things, knowing what's going on. Of late, it's taken on a more focused meaning, specifically being awakened to social injustice - particularly racism. Our country is involved in a deepening crisis of division, often with people talking past each other or, even worse, at each other. Yet the church is called to be the new community where there is neither "Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28, NIV). What does this vision mean for the church today and our mission and message to the world? What is race all about anyway, going all the way back to creation? What is the true nature of racism? What would a culture of civility actually entail? If Jesus took on race relations, racial divides, racial reconciliation, racial... everything, what would that look like? Join us and see!

10/13/19 - Getting Grace Right
It is the one idea among the Christian faith that is most unique among all religions. It's also the most scandalous. It is what attracts people the most, and is often the stumbling block over which they fall. It drew thousands to Jesus, and also nailed him to the cross. Without a doubt, it is the most significant dynamic, power and gift of the Christian faith. So if there is one thing that we need to "get right," it's this. And many don't get it right. Some reject it; some cheapen it; some make it a commodity to be earned; some say it only flows to a few; some refuse it to others; some apply it where it doesn't belong; some... well, you get the point. We hope you join us for this series at Journey!
