07/18/21 - TIWWD
Christianity, it might be ‘Giving.’ This is of course, inspired by the best known verse in the Bible, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Giving and generosity are at the core of the Gospel message. We give because we have been given much. In this 3 week study, we'll learn how to move from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset. It highlights how generosity and giving are foundational parts of who we are as a Church and as Christians—because of what God did for us, this is what we do.

07/11/21 - For
For far too long the church has been known for what it is against and that has in some ways alienated the world around us. They need to know that God and we are For them, not against them! Join us for a 3 part series entitled For, beginning June 27 and ending July 11th with a day of meal packing to feed people who struggle with hunger. This is going to be an incredible day of worship as we serve. Just show up at one of our service times and we’ll walk you through the details of how you can prepare a meal for those who need it. We hope you can worship with us throughout this series as we discover that God is for us so that we can be For God and we can be For others. Today we had 4 Guest Speakers who shared about our partners for the meal packing we did, and how it was going to impact the people who received the food we put together for them. Richie Phillips spoke about IDES (International Disaster Emergency Services)and their ministry for Jesus in the World. Then we had Robert Lawson speak about Thrivent Financial, which were key to putting the funding together for the day. We also welcomed Diana Owens with Waves of Mercy Mission from Haiti who shared with us about the difference these meals make in the lives of those who receive them. After Diana spoke we had Jody England from IDES who facilitated the day come and share as we moved into the final stages of our packing time. Finally, we had Randy come up and talk to us about the meal pack at the end of the service as we finished our first meal pack. What an incredible day it was, and what a powerful impact we had on the world in the name of Jesus!

06/13/21 - Gender
One of the most confusing and controversial cultural issues of our day has to do with gender. The "T" in all things LGBTQ has loomed large of late, along with what it means for everything from bathrooms to sports. Then there is the non-binary dynamic (not claiming to be male or female), the challenge parents face with how to raise kids in relation to gender, and how Christians should think and react. Join us for the series “Gender” based on a study from James Emery White.

05/23/21 - Essential Church
Is the Church essential? That question has been raised and answered by some that ‘No, the church is not essential.’ The church has been treated as an optional organization and gathering that can easily be shuttered without any ill effects. The government may say it is nonessential, non-believers may agree, and even some believers are unwilling to make church a priority. But what does God say? Is the church essential? Join us this Sunday, as we continue our series 'Essential Church'. We will look at what the church is intended to be, it’s beginning, it’s history, and why it truly is Essential.

04/25/21 - Walk The Line
You have heard people say, “If you are going to talk the talk, you have to walk the walk.” Nowhere is the more true than in the Christian life. Since walking the Christian walk is not natural to us, we need to develop certain Spiritual Disciplines. Spiritual disciplines are biblical practices that a believer does to grow spiritually in Christ. When we discipline ourselves not only does our character grow and we bear more fruit, but we will also build our relationship with Christ. Spiritual discipline allows you to dive deeper into the heart and mind of God. Your desires begin to change because your love and your yearning for more of Him grows. All that you want is Him and you begin to seek Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and God begins to reveal more of Himself to you.

We’re excited to announce that our Students are having a Worship Takeover this coming Sunday at Journey Church. Make sure to join us as our students share how God’s moving in their lives and Zach unpacks what it means to be desperate for God to move in our lives. The book of Acts shows us that during desperate times, the church should have an even greater desire to experience the presence of God. We hope to see you this Sunday as our students showcase their talents and abilities for Worship Takeover!

02/21/21 - By The Book
In most Christian churches, you would hear a familiar call to action. "Read the bible daily". Life change can occur by opening the pages of the greatest story ever told. But reading the bible from front to back can be confusing or even frustrating. The bible is not a chronologically ordered story that reads continuously from one chapter to the next. Rather, it is a collective of books of history, poetry, prophecies, eyewitness accounts, letters, and visions, divided into two testaments spanning thousands of years. Although it is the inerrant/inspired word of God, it is written by several authors representing many generations and cultures living in unique geographic areas. All of this can make one's head swim! Yes, it's easy to say "read the Bible". But it takes some effort to truly understand the structure, context, history, and geography of the story of God. But gaining this insight will highlight the awesome simplicity of God's plan for the salvation of His people.

12/27/20 - Joy to The World
Everyone is looking for some joy in their lives this Christmas. In a normal year, 88% of people say they feel stressed during the holidays. Can you imagine what that statistic will be this year? There doesn’t seem to be a lot to be joyful or optimistic about. We need a new perspective! The book of Philippians, written by Paul while in seemingly unjoyful circumstances in jail, teaches us how God, not our circumstances, should be the greatest source of joy – at Christmas and all throughout the year.

11/01/20 - Decision Day 2020
The greatest decision of your life maybe made this November. No, I’m not talking about the election, although that is important. The most important decision you will ever make is to give your life to Christ and to be baptized. I know that some of you have considered this decision for some time and may have put it off because of Covid. I want to encourage you to plan to be at Journey Church on November 1st for Decision Day 2020, at either of our morning services. It’s not the donkey or the elephant that can save you, it’s the Lamb!

09/13/20 - Untouchables
Join us for our Sermon Series, Untouchables. We will be addressing some of the controversial topics of our day and seeing what the Bible has to say about them. There are plenty of things that are ‘hot topics’ in our world and we may even be afraid to discuss them. We need a Biblical foundation and basis from which to think and act on them. We hope you will join us weekly for ‘Untouchables.’
