04/17/22 - Grace Is Greater
Grace! Even the sound of the word is soothing. No sin is too great, no bitterness so deep that God’s grace cannot transform the heart and rewrite the story. But grace is hard for us to understand. It doesn’t make sense, it's not fair, it can’t possibly cover over what I have done. Grace is so difficult to understand and in fact the only way to do so is to experience it. Join us for our new series, Grace is Greater.

04/10/22 - Pray For Woodford
Would you like to be part of something much bigger than yourself? Something that could make an eternal difference for people in our community? This spring, we are going to begin an effort that we are calling “Pray for Woodford.” We are casting the vision to pray for every home in Versailles. Once we complete doing that, we will broaden our circle. God has really been laying two things on my heart- prayer and sharing with those who do not know Jesus as Savior and Lord. This vision accomplishes both of those things and also meets all three of our values: Connecting, Growing, Sharing. The Sunday morning messages on April 3rd and 10th will challenge and prepare us for this exciting vision. I would love to see our entire church embrace this vision and be a part of Pray For Woodford!

Don't miss out on this time of prayer and praise where we'll be sharing an exciting new effort to reach our community through prayer. We're excited to seek God in song as we lift His praise together! Journey Kids will have their regularly scheduled programming at these hours.

12/26/21 - Advent Conspiracy
Christmas is coming, with all the parties, decorations, carols, lines, traffic, credit cards and crowds. At a time where we should be focused on the reason of the season, we’re lost in the crazy rush of trying to go everywhere and seem stuck overspending on everything. We spend over one trillion dollars globally each year at Christmas! An entire world drowning in the same debt, and before we know it ‘Merry Christmas’, becomes ‘Buried Christmas’. We have to ask: is it really worth it? Is it possible that buried under all that Christmas chaos lies something greater? 2000 years ago, God launched a conspiracy to save the world when He sent Jesus as helpless baby instead of a conquering king. Jesus came to walk, grieve and celebrate with us, and he’s still here with us today! Christmas begins and ends with Jesus, so let’s worship Him fully this Christmas, and love as He’s loved us. This year let’s spend less and give more of ourselves as we conspire together to spread Jesus’ love!

11/28/21 - Released Speaking
At Journey Church we talk a lot about moving people on a simple journey toward Jesus. It’s in this place of closely following Jesus that our lives begin to reflect Christ’s glory and shine brightly with His love. We want to be the type of Church that shines brightly for Jesus, and that’s why we’ve started the Released Initiative. Life with all its difficulties and distractions can impact our journey through doubt, guilt, fear, worry, and inaction as we experience this broken world. We need to remove these things that block our path to Jesus, who enables us to be the light He’s called us to be. This is what the Released Initiative is all about. Join us as we begin this 5 week sermon series which will help shape the next 18 months of our financial journey to be Released! Together we’ll explore how God wants to Release us from these barriers as a Church and as believers.

10/17/21 - Reboot
What do you do when your computer suffers a power shortage, when you have lost momentum, when you need to get all systems back online and need to retrieve as much lost information as possible? You reboot your computer. It is a fresh start, a return to power and efficiency. The last 18 months or so have been a trying time for a lot of us, especially spiritually. A lot of our spiritual habits like attending worship, serving, sharing, and having hope have been interrupted. We have replaced our spiritual habits with other pursuits and activities. With the fall comes a new season to realign our actions with the values that we claim to have. Join us at Journey Church for a new series called “Reboot,” where we will look at some areas in our lives where we need to get reengaged and back on task with fresh power, energy, and excitement. We hope you join us Sunday for this series at either of our morning services, 9:15 and 11:00 AM. We all need a Reboot!

8/29/21 - MAKE Disciples
The life of Jesus gives us an awesome example of how we are supposed to live out our lives for His Kingdom. Jesus first invited His followers to "Come and See". To check Him out for themselves. Next He invited them to watch and learn by "Following" Him. He challenged them to think beyond themselves as He promised to make them "Fishers of Men" before issuing HIs most challenging command to go and "Bear much fruit". Jesus lived out his strategy to show us how to share our lives with others and to teach them to do the same. Join us this Sunday as we explore what Jesus had in mind when He called us to “Make Disciples".

07/25/21 - This Is What We Do
If there is one word that sums up Christianity, it might be ‘Giving.’ This is of course, inspired by the best known verse in the Bible, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Giving and generosity are at the core of the Gospel message. We give because we have been given much. In this 3 week study, we'll learn how to move from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset. It highlights how generosity and giving are foundational parts of who we are as a Church and as Christians—because of what God did for us, this is what we do.

07/11/21 - For
For far too long the church has been known for what it is against and that has in some ways alienated the world around us. They need to know that God and we are For them, not against them! Join us for a 3 part series entitled For, beginning June 27 and ending July 11th with a day of meal packing to feed people who struggle with hunger. This is going to be an incredible day of worship as we serve. Just show up at one of our service times and we’ll walk you through the details of how you can prepare a meal for those who need it. We hope you can worship with us throughout this series as we discover that God is for us so that we can be For God and we can be For others. Today we had 4 Guest Speakers who shared about our partners for the meal packing we did, and how it was going to impact the people who received the food we put together for them. Richie Phillips spoke about IDES (International Disaster Emergency Services)and their ministry for Jesus in the World. Then we had Robert Lawson speak about Thrivent Financial, which were key to putting the funding together for the day. We also welcomed Diana Owens with Waves of Mercy Mission from Haiti who shared with us about the difference these meals make in the lives of those who receive them. After Diana spoke we had Jody England from IDES who facilitated the day come and share as we moved into the final stages of our packing time. Finally, we had Randy come up and talk to us about the meal pack at the end of the service as we finished our first meal pack. What an incredible day it was, and what a powerful impact we had on the world in the name of Jesus!

This is going to be an incredible day of worship as we serve. Just show up at one of our service times and we’ll walk you through the details of how you can prepare a meal for those who need it. We hope you can worship with us throughout this series as we discover that God is for us so that we can be For God and we can be For others.

06/20/21 - Growing Your Faith
Join us this Sunday Online at 9:15am, and in person at 9:15/11am as we worship together on Father's Day. We hope to see you as we celebrate fathers and challenge ourselves to grow our faith in God!

06/13/21 - Gender
One of the most confusing and controversial cultural issues of our day has to do with gender. The "T" in all things LGBTQ has loomed large of late, along with what it means for everything from bathrooms to sports. Then there is the non-binary dynamic (not claiming to be male or female), the challenge parents face with how to raise kids in relation to gender, and how Christians should think and react. Join us for the series “Gender” based on a study from James Emery White.

05/23/21 - Essential Church
Is the Church essential? That question has been raised and answered by some that ‘No, the church is not essential.’ The church has been treated as an optional organization and gathering that can easily be shuttered without any ill effects. The government may say it is nonessential, non-believers may agree, and even some believers are unwilling to make church a priority. But what does God say? Is the church essential? Join us this Sunday, as we continue our series 'Essential Church'. We will look at what the church is intended to be, it’s beginning, it’s history, and why it truly is Essential.
