At the end of Jesus’ time on the earth, after his crucifixion, his burial, and resurrection, He called His followers together and gave them a mission. The mission would be to go into all the world and make disciples, sparking the greatest outreach endeavor in the history of the world. The message was so powerful and compelling that his followers were accused of ‘turning the world upside down.’ Join us as we being our new series “Sent,” a study of the book of Acts, which records the early spread of Christianity. Let’s relive the excitement of the story of how the church was born and spread all over the world. And all because the disciples were “Sent!”

We are living in strange and difficult times. The church is being minimalized in our culture and in many cases, the church is adapting to the culture around it in a desperate attempt to be relevant. But what we are seeing is God’s Word being fulfilled around us and we should not retreat or surrender. Instead, we need to stand strong in the face of persecution and suffering. Join us starting June 4th as we begin a new series on the book of First Peter titled Odd Life, Good God. This study will assist us by affirming our Christian identity, guide us in our relationships within and without the Christian community, with Jesus as our model, and remind us that salvation is future, something to which we zealously look forward. Despite the present challenges of living among people hostile to Christian faith, we have a “living hope".

Several months ago, we began an effort called The Released Initiative, which was designed to eliminate our mortgage by May 2023, as well as allow us to pursue several other exciting opportunities. As we reach that point, we are going to review what God has done and look forward to the future. We will talk not only what we have been released from, but what we have been released to be free to do.

Connecting to the body of Christ and growing in one's faith are values we strive to live out here at Journey church. But the road doesn't end there. Gaining the promise of Christ but keeping it to ourselves falls short of what Jesus calls us to do in producing fruit in our lives. Join us as we explore how "Sharing" Jesus, our story, and our lives with others brings about the fruit Jesus talked about. Join us in the coming weeks as we explore the this series on Sharing.

If you have been in the church for very long, you have no doubt heard countless sermons. Some more memorable than others to be sure. There is one sermon recorded in Matthew 5-7 that summarizes the teachings of Jesus. It's known as "The Sermon on the Mount". These are considered some of the most meaningful lessons that Jesus taught. The Sermon on the Mount covers several topics. In general, Jesus taught His disciples how to live a life that is dedicated and pleasing to God. One free from hypocrisy. Full of love, grace, wisdom and discernment.

We all know the Christmas story… or do we? What if what we think we know about the Christmas story isn’t really what happened, or all that happened? An unwed mother, a small town scandal, an early widowhood, the reputation of Nazareth, attempted murder… Does that sound like the Christmas story you know? Join us this season as we look at The Story You Thought You Knew, a Christmas sermon series. We will look with a fresh view at Jesus’ parents, birth, reception, and purpose.

In the last few years, a new term has become common: Weaponized! It means to convert something so it can be used as a weapon, or to supply or equip something with weapons. Coming from military use, it meant fitting rockets or plane with nuclear capabilities. In cultural terms, it means that we arm normally innocent things for war. We talk of weaponizing facts, marketing, stories, leaks or campaign tactics. But the first and most powerful use of the idea is found in the Bible and it speaks of a weaponized life, equipped for impact, influence, movement and power. In fact, the Bible says that not even the gates of hell will be able to withstand us!
