Ep 112#UnderdogBites: F*ck What They Think

E

Today on the show Jayson is talking about the three categories of people, and why the last two are toxic to be around. You have the people that are excited for you and stick around as your supporters, these are the ones you need to keep around and have a relationship with. The second category, being the people who are intimidated by and don't want to speak up or talk about you, these people are scared, they can't achieve what you have, and they don't like it. The third category are the haters, the ones who are so jealous of your success that they need to talk crap about you behind your back. These people can fuel you if you have the right perspective, let their jealousies and hatred motivate you to keep going. We've all been in these categories, it's up to you to stay in the first category and keep the people around you that are going to lift you up. Ep 98#UnderdogBites: Reinforcing Confidence with Jayson Waller

E

Today on the show Jayson discusses why reinforcing self-confidence is so important in every aspect of your life. Overconfidence doesn't exist, if you believe in yourself and you know you will succeed, that's not arrogance, that's how successful people think. Everybody has a gift that they can use, you just have to find that gift and believe in it. If you need to fake confidence until you can look yourself in the mirror and invest in yourself, that's what you need to do! You can't expect life to get better and be easy, you need to work for the changes that you want to make and become a better person. E

Today on the show Jayson talks about being able to bend, but not break. To be able to take the hits with the wins. He discusses how making mistakes will teach you so much more than any of your successes will. You have a 100% survival rate on this Earth, you have gotten through every trouble you've ever had, you're here! Rather than wallowing in the failures and mistakes that you've made, focus on getting yourself better, start working out, start learning something new, keep your mind busy and challenge yourself every single day! You will work yourself out of a rut in no time. There are lions and there are sheep, the lions don't have to be entrepreneurs, or millionaires, or thought leaders. It's someone who loves what they do and has passion every day. Those that are great, are no different than the average person, it's just the mindset that they have in the morning, and when they go to sleep. Ep 83#51: Overcoming Doubters with Kara Goldin

E

Today on the show we're talking to Kara Goldin, CEO and Founder of Hint Inc. a flavored water company, and author of Undaunted: Overcoming Doubts and Doubters. Kara takes us through her life story, starting with growing up in Arizona, creating opportunities to make money by making a camp with her friends and charging $5 a day for people to come and hang out. After leaving her position at AOL, Kara took some time off to focus on being a mother. During that time off Kara realized how much soda she was drinking, and wanted to make a healthy change in her diet. She quickly noticed how many unhealthy beverage options there were on the market today, and wanted to make a change. After an investor told Kara that America wouldn't accept her flavored water brand, she used that as motivation to push herself and her brand farther than anyone thought possible. Ep 78#UnderdogBites: Stop Overthinking, Start Problem Solving with Jayson Waller

E

Today on the show John LeBlanc is back and interviews Jayson about why you need to stop overthinking your problems, and start quickly making decisions, to solve them! Jayson talks about how he hates the phrase "what if" and how it means that you are looking backwards, when you should be trying to fix the problems that are at hand right now. It's important to think of yourself last in business decisions, first think about how this will affect your brand and your team, then about how it will affect you. When making important decisions, Jayson thinks about how it will impact right now, tomorrow and 6 months from now. Thinking any further down the road than that will allow you to start overthinking the problem at hand. Follow the facts, make an informed decision, but ultimately following your gut will help you make quick decisions. Don't try to make the right decisions, take action and move forward from there! E

Today on the show we're talking with Barry Sanders about his esteemed football career, winning the heisman, breaking records, and being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Barry talks about how he is always raising his own bar, there is never a "top", you're always working, and grinding to achieve your goals. Even as a young kid Barry was consumed by football, he would watch the games every week, go out and throw the ball around, and even play his electronic football games. It was no surprise that he would go on to be one of the greatest players of all time. Barry grew up with 10 siblings, he learned how to compete with his brothers at a young age, that taught him to keep pushing himself. Barry always loved what he did and he saw success when the team succeeded, he could have had the all time rushing record in his rookie season, but he let the guys who didn't get to play often in. He never had to prove anything to anyone but himself. Staying in the moment and not looking too far ahead has been Barry's motto his whole life. He played with guys in high school who thought they were going to the NFL. Barry knew that he had to take things one step at a time, and become the best without losing focus on where he was. Ep 68#42: Hard Work Beats Talent with Jayson Waller

E

Whether you are starting a new business or trying to rise through one, you need to stay all in! That's what Jayson does with everything in his life. He's had the success that he has, because out works everyone he works with. Through working hard, and applying yourself day after day, you can start to develop talents that will continue to build because you now have a solid foundation to work from. It's not easy to put in all your effort everyday, there are some days that are harder than others, but that's where the success lies. Those tough days, when you're at your weakest, that's when you need to pull yourself up and start going. Put in the work, put in the effort, and you'll see just how much farther hard work can take you than talent. Ep 67#Roundtable: Get Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable with Jeff Fratarcangeli, Jeff Sloan, and Brian Elias

E

Many businesses and entrepreneurs fail when starting up because they don't have a proper plan in place. Not just something to get you started, but a plan for the next 8 or 9 years down the road. Jayson, Jeff, Bryan and Jeff talk about looking ahead, and creating an action plan on how to get there, performing that plan every day. The business world moves very fast, that's why getting complacent in business is like going backwards. If you're not working to improve your business every single day, other people will be doing that work, and they will surpass you. As Wayne Gretzky once said, "Go where the puck will be, not where it is". Staying comfortable means you're not growing, it means you aren't trying new things and learning from mistakes and successes! You need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable! Experience failure, and learn from those lessons.
