The Kings got a taste of life without injured Domantas Sabonis last night. He missed the game against Denver with a thumb injury and the result was a seven point loss. Sabonis is listed as questionable for tonight in the rematch. Oner issue for the Kings last night without Sabonis on the floor was ball movement. The starters had a combined seven assists. It was not a good week for the Kings leading up to the Xmas weekend. Two losses to the worst two teams in the East and Domantas Sabonis injuring his thumb late 4th vs Washington put a damper on things to say the least. Why was Sabonis even on the floor late in the Wizards game? Makes no sense. Now the schedule is tough the next five games beginning tomorrow vs the Nuggets. Yesterday Tim Bontemps of ESPN, upgraded his trade grade for the Kings from a D+ to a C- regarding last year's trade with the Pacers. He can't be serious....a C-? Does he ever watch the Kings? Domantas Sabonis is having an MVP caliber season and is largely responsible for the Kings being 4 games over.500. Sabonis has also made De'Aaron Fox a better player. How are you feeling today if you're a San Francisco Giants fan? 24 hours ago they were getting ready to hold a press conference to announce the signing of Carlos Correa who agreed to a 13 year $350 million dollar deal last week. There was an undisclosed issue with his physical so the presser was postponed. Then in the middle of the night the Mets agreed to a 12 year $315 million dollar deal with Correa, also pending a physical. Unbelievable!!! What an awful off-season for the Giants! The Kings lost the Hornets last night in a bad, bad loss. The Hornets entered play with the worst record in the league and had played the night before. Inexcusable! Two days ago, we witnessed one of the dumbest plays to end a game as the Patriots lateraled the ball to the Raiders who scored as time expires to win the game. After two bad games against the Knicks and Sixers, the Kings bounced back last night with a hard fought one point win. They were down by 16 at one point and trailed 94-88 entering the 4th quarter. There is something about this year's squad that is clearly different. Your eyes tell you that and so do the standings. Last night the kings looked bad again as they were controlled early and often by Joel Embiid and the Sixers. The Kings are now 1-3 with two games remaining on this trip. De'Aaron Fox returned to the line-up after missing two games with a foot injury and was ineffective. His backup Davion Mitchell remains an offensive liability , so the Kings are not getting efficient scoring currently from their point guard position. If you want to know how messed up the NFL schedule is just look at this week. Teams should never play a divisional game on a Thursday night, but this week the 49ers are at the Seahawks. Meanwhile in the NFC East the Commanders host the Giants. Washington is coming off a bye and are playing the Giants two games in a row. In Buffalo the Bills will host the Saturday. The Kings are coming off a bad loss as they lost to the Knicks yesterday. They were really never in the game and played without De'Aaron fox for the second straight game. Fox is out with a foot injury. One thing is very clear to me and that is Davion Mitchell is an important piece for the Kings, but as of now he isn't a starting point guard in the league. The Raiders have had a lot of bad losses over the years, but last night has to be near the top of the list. As I recorded this rant, we are still waiting for Aaron Judge's decision on where he will play for the next 9, or 10 years. I'm not paying a guy $350-400 million dollars who has a career .211 average in 44 post season games with 66 strikeouts. I love watching him play and I'm a Yankees fan, but I'm not giving a guy who will be 31 in April with those kings of numbers a long term deal like what has been reported. Enough is enough already. The USA beat Iran 1-0 on Tuesday to advance to the next round of the World Cup, but the talk about Christian Pulisic who scored the only goal is getting nauseating! Last week the Washington Post wrote a story on Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. They showed a photo from 1957 that showed Jones at the age of 14 in the background of other White teenagers who confronted a group of Balck students outside the doors of North Little Rock High in Arkansas.
