We have another sexy podcast today talking about all things related to love, sexual healing and relationships with my new friend Anna Lindfors. We met through the biohacking community and finally got to meet in person at the Biohacker Summit in Amsterdam last year (2022) where she gave the most powerful talk on female sexuality. Anna is young. She's still in her 20s and some of the older women in my community question whether they will resonate with her. I can tell you. I am 52 and love what she has to say, which is why I invited her to share what she knows. As a gerontologist, we disrupt ageist stereotypes and we can learn a lot from any person at any age. Today we talk to a doctor about sexual health and libido. It's the conversation you always wished you had with your doctor, but maybe too shy to have. But Dr. Lyndsey Harper isn't any kind of doctor. She is an Ob/Gyn (that means she is a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology…delivering babies and seeing a lot of female patients talking about their reproductive health). But she is a doctor with a passion for educating women about sex, desire and sexual health. She was so frustrated as a doctor when she couldn't find a modern and accessible resource to help her patients with problems of low libido and other sex issues, that she decided to create something herself. And that's an app called ROSY, which connects 84 million women in the US with sexual problems with hope, community, and research-backed solutions to improve their lives. 132. Women Surviving Alzheimers, True Stories & How To Prevent Dementia- Dr. Dale Bredesen
Dr. Dale Bredesen is not only intelligent, talented and someone who can think unconventionally, but someone who is also kind, humble and can express very complex systems in terms we can all understand. Today we learn more about his groundbreaking research in dementia. It was an honor to have Dr. Bredesen on the podcast back in 2021 and now a double honor to have him on for a second time to discuss one of his most recent books The First Survivors of Alzheimers. Dr. Dale Bredesen is a scientist, a researcher and an expert in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease. He published over 200 papers, which many of them you can find in a pubmed search. In 2017 he wrote a groundbreaking book and New York Times bestseller called : The End of Alzheimer's and then several years later wrote a follow up book: The End of Alzheimer's Program (2020). And last year he wrote "The First Survivors of Alzheimer's: How Patients Recovered Life and Hope in Their Own Words". Dr. Bredesen is a professor at UCLA, but he's also taught at UC San Francisco, and the University of California San Diego. He directed the Program on Aging at the Burnham Institute before going to the Buck Institute for Research on Aging in 1998 as its founding president and CEO. Most doctors and experts in this field say there is no cure for Alzheimer's. But Dr. Bredesen blatantly says that Alzheimer's is absolutely reversible and preventable. He is going against the grain with his research, which he has been working on for decades. He's been consulting patients who have been told by their doctors to get their affairs in order before they die, because there is nothing they can do to help them. He is super well known in the medical circles for his research into obesity and diabetes. He found out exactly HOW sugar causes obesity and how our bodies can actually make fructose from other foods. He also found out that a by-product of fructose metabolism called uric acid plays a huge role in metabolic syndrome. The National Institute of Health has been funding his research since the 80s, so he's been doing this for…quite.. a while. He's a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and has published over, get this, 700 papers, lectured in over 45 countries, and is a highly cited scientist. Just Pubmed him. You'll be blown away. So I think we are speaking with someone who is highly highly qualified to talk about this topic.
