Our guest today is Jake Wiskerchen. Jake is the co-founder, co-owner, and chief clinical officer at Zephyr Wellness, a mental health outpatient practice in northern Nevada. Jake is also part of Walk the Talk America, a non-profit organization dedicated to making positive change in relationship to mental health and firearm awareness. Through organizing a profound team of experts from different fields, and all walks of life, unbiased by politics, media, or personal prejudice. 1) Nationwide we are seeing reports of a serious decline in Mental health and well-being. The President has even regularly addressed his concerns about these issues in his daily Covid Press Conferences. As a Mental Health Professional give us a snapshot of where we are. 2) We’ve heard that during the height of the Pandemic there was a shortage of medical workers, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about the potential for a shortage of Mental Health Professionals. It seems likely that we haven’t yet crested the top of the curve of that need. What are your thoughts? 3) The work you are doing with WTTA includes bringing a greater understanding between the Gun Communities and Mental Health Professionals. This implies that there is a MIS-understanding between these two groups. Can you talk about that? Especially with all of the millions of first-time gun owners across the nation, there might be people who want to seek counseling but might be afraid to seek the help they need. 4) Those of us who own guns are often very self-reliant minded. Sometimes we know when we need help. But, other times we may just not be feeling quite ourselves. How do we know when it is time to reach out and get some help? 5) WTTA is also working on suicide prevention measures. The statistics tell us that most suicides are completed with firearms. If someone listening right now is needing a helping hand to get through to tomorrow, what words of help or encouragement can we offer them?

Our guest today is Rebecca Schmoe. Rebecca is a grassroots gun rights advocate. She volunteers her time between work and raising a family to be a SpokesMom for 1 Million Moms Against Gun Control, and the Kansas State Director for The DC Project. She believes that together individual liberty and personal responsibility build the foundation of our inherent rights; and that when coupled with education, will do more for safety and freedom than any legislation our elected representatives can offer. 1) You have referred to yourself as an accidental advocate, and in 2013 you joined a group called 1 Million Moms Against Gun Control. Walk us through that journey. 2) Talk to us about what attracted you to the mission of the DC Project and their message to Elected Representatives to Educate Not Legislate. - The utmost importance of knowing and understanding your rights so that you can teach others to defend their rights. 3) How and why do you think it is important to develop relationships with your elected representatives, even when you don’t agree with them. 4) You have been named as one of the Speakers at the 2020 Virtual 2A DC Rally! For people who think that Rallies are only for preaching to the choir, what would you say you are actually doing via this effort?

After watching the extreme bias and censorship he witnessed on a daily basis, he made the decision to wear a hidden camera to expose what was happening within the Social Media giant. 1) The stark contrast between what Mark Zuckerberg testified in Congress about in April 2018 and what you witnessed. 2) Is hate speech a subjective term? 3) You found it be almost impossible to discuss immigration on Facebook. Talk to us about that struggle and why you think it is such a difficult topic. 4) Labeling and rhetoric are protected under the 1st Amendment, but you were seeing an imbalance in what was allowed or banned on Facebook. For example, you mentioned off air that anti-police rhetoric is allowed, but anti-Antifa rhetoric is not. 5) 3D printing--Facebook's policy related to that.

John Crump is releasing a book to raise money to help his nine-year-old niece, Bella, to fight brain cancer. Doctors have diagnosed Crump’s niece with a rare form of aggressive childhood brain cancer (DIPG). The diagnoses have left the family devastated with a mountain of medical bills. With the blessing of AmmoLand, Crump has put his interviews in book form with never read interviews and content. Some of the interviews included in the book are with TV stars, gun rights activists, and Senators. Each interview gives the readers an insight into the mind and thinking of the subject. On social media I am seeing boisterous comments by people (some of whom are gun owners) who say things like “I’d just shoot the looters”. It’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and type stuff like that. It’s an entirely different thing to actually have to face the aftermath of using lethal force. You work with US Law Shield, can you talk to us about what happens if you actually need to defend yourself. 3) Surviving a crime reshapes a person’s life and outlook in innumerable ways. One thing we see very often is that people who might have, previous to a life-threatening event, been against owning tools of self-defense, now coping with fear by empowering themselves through self-reliance and guns. And we see millions of first-time gun owners flocking to gun stores and training facilities. US Law Shield should be an important a tool in their toolboxes as well. Really, the answer is YES, it IS above his pay grade. The NJ Governor Phil Murphy has no say in it whatsoever. But, the problem is that he said, "I wasn't thinking of the Bill of Rights when we did this.” Yet, he wants it both ways and he DOES want to act like HIS wishes take precedent over the Bill of Rights. #2) The NJ2AS has filed lawsuits against your NJ Governor Murphy. While it is unfortunate that we have come to a place in the US where too much about our Constitutional Protections are being decided by judges, thankfully we DO have the courts as an avenue against little tyrants. Tell us about the suits you have brought against NJ Legislature. #3) After watching a few of the news clips the NJ2AS has posted up, it appears that NJ Governor is trying to silence you, even going so far as to have revoked your press credentials and have his armed guards surrounded you to kick you out of a public meeting. One side says that freedom itself is under attack, the other side says we are just fear mongering to “sell more guns”. If we don’t even know what the Founding Principles of our nation are, how do people sort out the truth from the noise? 2) The Second Amendment is not a political issue, but the politicians have MADE it political. Especially in the upcoming 2020 election with every one of the Democratic Presidential hopefuls trying to out-anti-gun one another. And now, Joe Biden appears to be the best they have for the Democratic Presidential bid. For people who value their 2A Rights, is there any way they could vote for Biden and not lose their Constitutionally-protected rights to keep and bear arms? - Biden then says that he would repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), so that gun makers and dealers can again be sued because someone used a legally purchased firearm to commit a crime. This is like allowing people to sue GM if, say, someone used a Chevy to harm someone else. 3) It is confusing to people to understand how our Bill of Rights protects our 2A rights yet various states can trample those rights. You wrote an article a couple of months ago titled “Barriers to Freedom” where you talk about this tension between federal and states’ rights. Can you speak to the premise of your article and specifically the ideas behind federal reciprocity legislation? 4) More and more often it seems the American People are looking to the Supreme Court to weigh out the major issues that have become so polluted by politics. The 2A is among those issues. We recently heard that SCOTUS passed by an opportunity to hear a case out of NY. That has some of the anti-gun groups feeling confident that by default that means they are winning. But, you have written about the possibility of a few other cases making their way to be ruled on by SCOTUS. What can you tell us about those cases? - The cases currently being considered for possible hearing by the court, on the other hand, concern laws that more broadly affect the gun-owning population. Cases like Wilson v. Cook County, Illinois and Worman v. Healey directly challenge bans on popular and commonly owned semi-automatic rifles and magazines—Heller specifically protects “commonly owned” firearms. Another case, Rogers v. Grewal, challenges laws preventing law-abiding citizens from carrying a firearm outside their home for self-defense. This takes on the “special need” requirement that places like New Jersey and California use to deny citizens their basic Second Amendment rights. And then there’s Pena v. Horan, which challenges California’s “Unsafe Handgun Act,” a law that implicates the Second Amendment by effectively banning commonly owned handguns.
