Was there one specific event or moment that put this project in motion or was it a culmination of things? 2) What do you see happening with police officers in our culture today? 3) How has the media impacted people’s perception of policing in America? 4) What do police officers go through that most people don’t know about or realize? 5) How do you see people in Arizona being able to help the police and what action can we take to keep them funded in Arizona?

Cheryl Todd of Gun Freedom Radio: The HISTORY of Women and Guns! Even when women could not legally vote, we did legally have guns. Our foremothers used guns to hunt, to protect their land and livestock, and to guard over the safety of their families. Firearms and ammunition in the home were basic household tools – as basic as having, say, a hammer and nails. Yet, here we are in the 21st Century now trying to reclaim that normalcy and those Rights to possess, carry and use these life-saving tools of protection. Somewhere along the way someone told us that women don’t use tools. And too many of us bought into it. And someone told us that Moms – you know good moms – don’t allow certain kinds of tools into their homes. And a group even commandeered the word – Moms. Moms Demand something...not really specified...but it equates to “guns are bad” and if you are a mom, or a woman, or a decent human being of any kind you will agree with them...or else face being ostracized and cancelled. Can you imagine – all the strong, smart, capable, competent women in our nation, and really the world, being convinced that hammers and nails are too dangerous for we women to handle? And yet, too many of us have bought into THAT idea when it comes to firearms and ammunition. It’s embarrassing, really. And it’s time to reclaim our equal rights to own whatever tools we need to pursue life, liberty and happiness – whether it’s hammers, nails, guns or ammo. We know names like Annie Oakley (who became a sharpshooter out of the necessity to put food on the table for her family), Ida B Wells (an African-American feminist, investigative journalist, educator, and early leader in the civil rights movement – helping to co-found the NAACP), Harriet Tubman (anti-slavery superhero of the Underground Railroad), AND the many (mostly forgotten) women who fought in the American Civil War. And, then there was Eleanor Roosevelt – the First Lady of four-term Democratic President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Ashley Hlebinsky is that woman. Ashley not only was the curator for the Cody Firearms Museum for several years, and is a walking talking history encyclopedia, but she also has made history by testifying to Congress setting the record straight about MIS-NAMED “Ghost Guns” and in doing so has worked to preserve our freedoms. Suzanna Gratia Huff might have stopped a murderer from killing and wounding nearly 50 people. Suzanna has continued to use her voice to advocate for more life-saving freedoms for all of us. A woman who is one of my personal heroes is Julianne Versnell – one of our hosts every year for this very event, GRPC. Julianne has spoken at the United Nations, to defend the right of women to protect themselves with firearms. Through instruments such as the wrong-headed Arms Trade Treaty, international gun control is a genuine threat and could ultimately strip individual firearms rights from people here in the United States and indeed all over the world. Julianne has positively impacted the international debate on behalf of all women. Finally, no conversation about the History of Women and Guns could be complete without mentioning one of my mentors, Dianna Muller, who founded The DC Project: Women for Gun Rights. Dianna saw the need to bring women together to counter the anti-rights groups with the truth that women DO own guns, carry guns, and we value our Rights to do so. Dianna has grown The DC Project into a powerful force that has a State Director in all 50 states and whose members have run for offices, won elections, and have testified in front of both state and federal Legislative bodies on behalf of protecting our Second Amendment Rights. We stand on the shoulders of giants and we cast their vision into the history of our nation’s future.

Our guest today is Simmone Park. Simmone Park is a multilingual management consultant and stand-up comedian who has lived and worked in ten countries so far. For six years after a violent assault at gunpoint, Simmone was fervently anti-gun and changed her location every 3-4 months, unaware that she had feared for her safety. After taking time to heal, process the experience, and work on overcoming her trauma, she now lives in Hawaii, where she feels at peace. Simmone also decided to educate herself on guns and the law and is now Pro-Second Amendment and ultimately chose to work for a pro-freedom law firm, Attorneys for Freedom, that fights for the rights of citizens in Hawaii and Arizona. 1) Thank you for being willing to go back to the worst moments of your life and talk to us about the day you were assaulted at gunpoint. 2) You have said that part of the trauma that resulted from that horrific assault is that it caused you to start thinking of people in terms of their race. 3) There are loud voices across the nation, many of them women who are actively pushing the idea that women, minorities, and especially victims of crime should want to throw our 2A Rights away. Your newsletter recently mentioned the 50-year anniversary of President Richard Nixon’s “New Economic Policy”. What is the significance of his action half a century ago? - On August 15th, 1971, the then-President announced a plan for a “New Economic Policy.” This included executive orders for 10% surcharges on imported goods and freezes on wages and prices. Worst of all, it ended the liquidity between U.S. gold and U.S. dollars. With the sweep of a pen, one man forced government control over free enterprise and brought us into the era of fiat money. 5) One last question. He is a strong voice protecting Arizonans against anti-rights groups and legislation that seek to limit our freedoms. 1) In political philosophy, the phrase “consent of the governed” refers to the idea that a government's legitimacy and moral right to use state power is justified and lawful only when consented to by the people or society over which that political power is exercised. Is our “consent” merely the vote we used to “hire” our Representatives? So, after they are in office they get to do whatever they want? 2) In AZ you head up two important organizations. Both the AzCDL and the Foundation. Most people are unaware of what is happening there, but we are watching in embarrassment and horror at what is going on in Afghanistan. From your experience, what do you think will happen in Afghanistan next?

Our guest today is John Lott. John is a world-recognized expert on guns and crime and the author of a number of books including “The War On Guns: Arming Yourself Against Gun Control Lies”. He is an American economist, who served in the Trump Administration as Senior Advisor for Research and Statistics in the Office of Justice Programs for the US Department of Justice and then the Senior Advisor for Research and Statistics in the Office of Legal Policy for the US Department of Justice. John is the President of the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC), which is a research and education organization dedicated to providing an objective and accurate scientific evaluation of both the costs and benefits of gun ownership as well as policing activities. John’s work gives those of us who are protecting our 2A Rights a solid foundation of precision-focused research. 1) You recently wrote an op-ed in Real Clear Investigations titled: “Despite What Biden Says, Guns Factor in Only a Small Percentage of Violent Crimes”, and that about 92% of violent crimes in America DO NOT even involve firearms. Could it be that the President is engaged in some political statistical trickery? - Although firearms were used in about 74% of homicides in 2019, they comprise less than 9% of violent crimes in America. - The vast majority of violent offenses – including robberies, rapes and other sex crimes – almost always involve other weapons or no weapons at all. - Over 50% of the murders take place in just 2% of the counties (60 of the 3,140 counties, the 60 making up 27.5% of the population), and even within those counties most murders occur within 10-block areas. These are overwhelmingly gang-related murders. They are surely important, but don’t touch the lives of most Americans. Fifty-four percent of counties have no murders and another 15% have one. 2) Even with all of the statistical trickery going on from Politicians and members of the Media feeding us story lines designed to malign guns and those who own them, according to a July 202 Gallup poll only 1% of Americans named guns/gun control the most important problem facing the country. - And only 4% of Americans viewed crime/violence as the most important problem. 3) In a Rasmussen poll it appears that gun control has become a class issue, with affluent people being more in favor of control, while poorer populations are the freedom-lovers. From your experience, is this a surprising finding? - strongest opposition to gun control is among the poor, and the strongest support is among the highest income earners, those earning more than $200,000. 4) On the CPRC website there are a number of mentions of censorship you are experiencing. What is the nature of this censorship? 5) Over your career you have had many impressive accomplishments. And it hasn’t been an easy road going up against all of the negative pushback from the Bloomberg financed gun control propaganda machine. What would you say is one of your most impactful and proud moments?

You were the second name mentioned and the crowd cheered and chanted your name for nearly 30 full seconds! I think Trump even said “Wow!” about the response you received. It is moments like that when Candidates’ campaigns can shift into a higher gear. 4) What are the key issues that you believe our next Arizona Governor will face?

Our guest today is Tara Craft. Tara is a firearms instructor, blogger, and Second Amendment advocate who shares her experiences as a female gun owner on various social media platforms. Tara began her Instagram account, “How I Carry”, as a way to document the challenges of learning to carry a concealed firearm, which led to her and her husband founding Gen2 Training, LLC to offer beginner classes to their rural community. She is a member of the DC Project and Virginia Citizens Defense League, and Tara believes that Second Amendment rights are for everyone and encourages everyone to advocate for the right to bear arms. 1) Walk us through your journey from passively supporting the Second Amendment to actively advocating for it. 2) Your videos are clever and effective. The Hard Knock Life video, regarding obstacles facing new gun owners, was particularly powerful. Was there a specific moment that caused you to make that one? 3) Everyone has a day-one at learning something. Why does it seem so difficult to promote acceptance and education without shaming our newcomers? 4) This might be a newsflash to some people, but with gun ownership on the rise, it is more obvious than ever that is no “typical” gun owner. Our guest today is Lanny Barnes. Lanny is a three-time Olympian in Biathlon and is a National & World Champion in several shooting disciplines. Lanny is currently teaching courses to military, law enforcement and competitive shooters on the physiological and psychological aspects of shooting. Was there an impetus that spurred you to write it? 2) At the time when you wrote that original manual surely you imagined it would never be accepted in schools. Yet you wrote it anyway. How did you go from words on paper to the very first training class? - A week-long training program for the "Single Officer Response to an Active Killer" offered to law enforcement officers through the National Association of School Resource Officers. 3) What have been some of your greatest successes and biggest frustrations over the years? 4) Why is it important for us to study previous murders, including the methods and the motivations? 5) There seems to be a shift in the behaviors of people who commit these horrendous murders, from someone who is acting out a grievance to nowadays someone seeking some twisted idea of glory or fame. When you were younger your views were different than they are today. So, how did a former Vietnam War protestor like yourself come to write a book like this? - I'll talk about my upbringing in the liberal (not leftist then, but liberal) bastion of Teaneck NJ, first school system in the country to voluntarily integrate, and my skepticism (at best!) in high school and early college about American institutions and the military. Then came the American resupply of Israel in the 1973 war, the Beirut bombing against our Marines in the early 1980s, Gulf War I, and a lot of travel on my part through the USA and Europe. In short, my vision of our country's institutions and its military changed. Drastically. 2) This book runs so counter so much else going on in children's literature these days. What do you have to say about that? - I'll want to talk about how much of children's lit these days focuses on certain values like kindness, tolerance, and compassion, and how those are important values, but not the ONLY values. Also, how there's a ton of focus on issues of identity after so much neglect for so long, which is a good thing...but it's not the only thing. This book is about another way to look at identity, which is selflessness, selfless service, and self-effacement. It's radical in that way. 3) Can you read us your favorite passage, and give us some insight into why it's important? - I'll read from the section of the first Unknown lying in state in the Capitol, and how in our not knowing the identity of the Unknown, we can all have equal claim and love for him. The giving up of identity is actually the key to his emergence as a core American symbol.

You recently offered testimony as a subject matter expert to Senate Judiciary’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, in a hearing titled: Stop Gun Violence: Ghost Guns. But, you don’t use that term and told the Senate as much. Can you expound on that? - “Firstly, I will not be using the term ghost gun and that’s because as a historian I try to be as precise as possible and the term is used more as a rhetorical tool, a marketing tool and because of that, it can create a false sense of authority on the subject,” Hlebinsky told the senators. It’s too easy to conflate with something that is invisible, undetectable or untraceable. None of which is true. privately made firearms have been around for centuries, basically since the first system was developed over 500 years ago.” 2) The people who consider themselves Pro-Rights too often adopt the language of the Prohibitionists. We have “assault rifle”, “ghost gun”, and even “sanctuary cities”. In some ways there is strength in appropriating language. But, then we find ourselves on our back foot trying to un-attach the connotations that the Prohibitionists use to scare the public. As a historian, how do you see this language issue playing out in the long run? 3) You occupy a unique space in a heated and polarizing conversation. You are decidedly and agnostic in your political leanings in public and in your work. The 2A is not a political issue, but it has become political football over the years. How do you manage to be both neutral in our current political climate? 4) What other projects are you currently working on?

The past 12 months have brought 8 to 10 MILLION people to become brand new gun owners. And NOW is when the Biden / Harris administration believes is the time to vilify those people and make changes in laws and regulations which could result in millions of felons being created overnight? The degree of inflation is yet unknown, but it will come. Our guest today is Nikki Goeser. Nikki is a survivor of a deadly crime in a gun-free zone where she lost her husband at the hands of her stalker. Nikki is the author of “Stalked and Defenseless: How Gun Control Helped My Stalker Murder My Husband in Front of Me.” Recently Nikki offered testimony in front of the TN Legislature-House Civil Justice Committee in support of a Lifetime Order of Protection Bill that has now been written into law. 1) Tell us about this new law. Why is it needed and how will it help? 2) The LOP is a huge win for people who have ongoing concerns from those who seek to do harm when you have identified the person who poses a threat. But, you are also well equipped with the tools (firearms and training) to offer you another kind of Lifetime of Protection. 3) You also testified in Washington, DC TWICE recently. Once for a meeting with the Freedom Caucus that hosted the DC Project and then at the Senate Hearing on Gun Control and Red Flag Gun Laws.
