It's now making enough money for Chel to stop seeing clients and can support Chel full time (4:15) The podcast has over twelve million downloads now! (4:50) She didn't set out to monetize it but put a lot of time and effort into keywords and strategy before she launched the podcast. (6:25) Did NOT set out to have a meditation podcast, but found the balance between guided imagery and hypnosis to fit what she wanted to do, which was to create something out in the world to reach people who might want to work with Chel for hypnotherapy. (7:05) She created a show that she personally would listen to. (8:47) Around the year mark, Chel went to Podcast Movement, and she fell head over heels in love with Podcasters as human beings, and decided she wanted to continue to be a part of that tribe! (31:20) Make it simple and easy to get a YES to get them into your database. (32:05) Simple things like how to make your house smell great for your open house. (32:40) THEN – email them weekly. Learn a simple process. (33:05) If you implement one or two of these things and start implementing you'll see HUGE results. (35:19) Learn how to build your database with your Facebook Lives (36:00) Put a simple process in place to make it easy, and maybe even outsource. Episode Spotlights: Simone and Karen met while finding their niche in the online business market (2:15) Numbers are reliable and that is what drew Simone to major in accounting in college (4:00) That is what half of her life was about – reliability She had an offer to work for KPMG before graduating college (5:00) Simone enjoyed the accounting work, but was miserable in the corporate environment (6:03) Our emotions and emotional life are directly correlated to our financial life (7:13) Simone used overspending to compensate with her unhappiness Simone looked for other ways to make her feel better; these were more creative pursuits (9:14) Simone ended up in California but then made her way back to her parent's house (10:15) She decided to buy the book "The Secret" to help her move out of her parent's home in a year Simone created a budget and stuck to it (12:18) Studies tell us that how we approach things is 80% of the game (13:04) The key is "what is your level of belief?" and that will be the level of your result (15:05) Simone moved out in a year and had a successful business because she believed she could (and worked hard) (17:08) 1925 Karen has started to truly keep track of what comes in and out every month and can look at what is working during the month and what is not (19:25) Six figures in corporate is very different than six figures as an entrepreneur (21:45) Entrepreneurship has been one of the biggest spiritual teachers in Simone's life (23:06) Numbers is what supports the creativity of having your own business (24:37) It takes courage to look at a financial projection for your business (25:15) It is courageous to open up an expense that you have been putting off (26:23) Karen tries to keep her personal expenses low (28:19) It isn't about what you can afford, it is about what you choose to afford Financial growth hinges on being comfortable with being temporarily uncomfortable (29:54) Simone sat down and wrote out on a spreadsheet how much she wanted to make in a year and then divided that by each month (30:53) If I want to be making xxx a month, what do I need to sell to make that? How many clients does that mean that you need to pick up every month? Episode Spotlights: Nicole used to have a 9 to 5 job with a nonprofit organization, but she went to graduate school and had a ton of student loans She was working as a social worker and loved it, but she wasn't making the money that she needed (2:00) To give herself more flexibility, Nicole decided to create her own office – but soon found that she recreated the 9 to 5 that she didn't like (4:40) Nicole then found herself recreating 1 - 1 services, which have limits because of time constraints, she wanted something more Nicole found herself in coaching because it was flexible and she was still helping people solve their problems She was noticing that, as a service based entrepreneur, she was getting burnt out so easily (9:00) That is when she decided she needed multiple streams of income – this could be group coaching, courses, affiliate income, etc (10:00) Nicole focused more on her group coaching, letting her 1 - 1 services naturally ended The #1 mistake people make when adding extra income is that they try to service a different audience (13:05) Pros & Cons of 1 - 1 Services: You can give your clients a lot of time because they pay money for it, but you only have so many hours in a week (14:15) Pros and Cons of Group Services: You can create a community, but you have to have a bigger following to start. When Nicole created her first group coaching program, she called 50 people and 10 signed up – she spent six weeks not making money to achieve that (15:35) If you don't have a big audience, you don't want to do a course right away – focus on 1 - 1 clients. Episode Spotlights: Dana wants to continue to inspire women to be their own healthcare advocates and to be an emotionally and physically healthier version of themselves Dana opened her gym, Evolution, in February 2008 After working in gyms for years, Dana realized she didn't like the way things were run that's why she opened evolution (10:30) In 2008, most gyms were franchises, making Dana ahead of the curve, which made it difficult to market her gym (11:10) What sparked Karen's interest in working out with Dana and working out in general, was that Dana's confidence in her ability to help people was so apparent (13:10) Karen wants everyone to understand that there are "no's" on your journey, but you have to get passed them.
