EP 62 Shredding for the wedding with Jeana Finlinson

A few weeks ago I got a Facebook message from an old friend of mine that has been a loyal Million Pound Mission podcast listener. Jeana is a former professional golfer that I was working with about eight years ago. A wrist injury forced her to leave the world of professional golf and she entered the corporate business world where she is now the director of global learning and talent development for Cook Medical. As many of us have experienced, a transition like this will bring some lifestyle changes and healthy routines can be easily lost. Since Jeana moved from being a pro athlete to being a business professional she has experienced several rounds of weight gain with intermittent attempts at weight loss to the tune of being about 70 lbs heavier than she was when I was first working with her as a pro athlete. Jeana is someone that is very easy to cheer for because she is so positive, energetic, and super hilarious! A couple of weeks ago I had a HUGE public speaking gig that I was super nervous about. I was scheduled to speak in front of my son Henry's 1st grade class! About a year ago I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts and I heard a guy named Ari Meisel talking about the concept of "less doing more living".......and I became immediately interested. So there is a really common trap that I think we all tend to fall into from time to time......or all the time.....myself included. We get to thinking along the lines of "If I could just make XYZ happen then things will get easy for me!". In working with clients I will hear comments like: "If I can just lose 30lbs I will have this diet thing figured out and it's going to be smooth sailing from there!" "If I can just get this big promotion then I will be able to afford to take more time for the gym and my schedule will be easy!" "If I can just hang in there until the kids start going to school things will open up with my schedule and it will be easy to get in my workouts!"
