Ep 181181: How Drew Canole Lost 40 Pounds and Created a Wellness Revolution with Organifi

Imagine a world where instead of 1.6 billion Coke drinkers, there are 1.6 billion (and more) people drinking green juice. Today's guest, fitness and nutrition rockstar, Drew Canole, is passionate about making that a reality. What we consume plays a massive role in how we feel. The future of humanity depends on us being balanced, thriving human beings. That starts with what we choose to put in our bodies. We can change the world through health and nutrition. Seven years ago, Drew was 45 pounds overweight, pretty unclear about what his life purpose was, going out all the time, and drinking too much. But we all have a wake-up moment, and once Drew had his, there was no turning back. He knew he had to contribute to the world and make a positive difference. He went on a 90-day juice cleanse, lost 40 pounds, gained clarify, focus, energy, and received a ton on online support! He's on a mission to help people experience radical joy, connect to oneness, live their purpose, and be the healthiest, fittest version of themselves. He recommends a delicate blend of self-love, listening to what your body is telling you, and cellular nourishment. Drew is the founder and CEO of FitLife.tv, where he shares inspirational content about healing, longevity, mindset, and nutrition. We love him and his videos, so go check him out! Drew created a delicious brand of superfood powders, Organifi. We can't get enough of them and Drew has very generously given Food Heals Nation a hefty 20% off with the coupon code FoodHeals! Products range from green powder for cleansing and fat burning (with spirulina, chlorella, moringa, matcha, ashwagandha, chlorophyll and more… all the greens without the "green" taste), reishi gold drink for immunity (with reishi and antioxidant turmeric), red anti-aging juice (with acai and cordyceps), protein powder (with added enzymes for better digestion), probiotics, and everything you need to rebalance your body and enjoy a happy, healthy, fit life. Drew's tips for your best morning routine: It starts the night before: swap blue lights for red to increase melatonin and help you sleep Start a gratitude list Hydrate with high-vibe water Listen to music from your childhood Commit. Ep 180180: Stop Overeating, Cure Asthma Naturally & Create a Life You Love with Biz Women Rock's Katie Krimitsos

Growing up, Katie's family, like many, showed love through big portions of low-quality food. During her childhood, Katie was an athlete, exercising up to 6 hours a day and eating whatever she wanted. However, once she got to college, she gained 60 pounds. She fell in love with feminism and used it to present a mask of not caring about her weight. Deep down she wasn't happy with her body and her relationship with food became dysfunctional. Suffering from a combination of overeating, bulimia, and exercisorexia, her days were focused around working out, eating food and avoiding food. She was able to overcome her eating disorder thank to the Overeaters Anonymous 12-step program. Katie learned that freedom isn't as much about not having any boundaries, but more about creating boundaries that help you be the best version of yourself. Early in her life, Katie wanted to make a big impact. Passionate about life and wanting to live big, she now uses her business to do just that. She married her two interests – business and raising women up – to create Biz Women Rock, a resource provider and podcast that helps entrepreneurial women grow their business and live a life of freedom and purpose. Her podcast is one of our personal favorites and provides the tools you need to create the business of your dreams. Her private Facebook group is a hub for businesswomen from all over the world to share their ups and downs, advice, masterminds and more. You'll also find all the details for Katie's transformational events. Join her at her Business Retreat in a luxury mansion in Orlando from December 1-3 or see Katie (and Allison) live at Podfest MultiMedia Expo on February 8-11 in Orlando (We'll be there too -- get your tickets here!), and Social Media Marketing World in March 2018. And if you want to watch a beautiful visual image of the podcast movement and why so many of us are choosing this platform to share our message, then check out Katie's husband, Chris Krimitsos', beautiful documentary The Messengers. Today we're back with two VIP guests: Jay and Joy, aka the Jing Slingers. We can't get enough of these guys! Check out episodes 112 and 151 for Jay and Joy's story. The Jing Slingers' mission is to elevate, educate, and illuminate their clients with tonic herbs and superfoods. Their beautiful book Food with Benefits groups together recipes for the foods you love – perfect for the holidays. That means ice cream and donuts, mashed potatoes and gravy, and even eggnog and pecan pie! Food is at the epicenter of what Jay and Joy do, but it's food with a difference, food that loves you back. Super healthy, super easy, cleverly conscious food that will supercharge your life force! We always preach: eat more plants! But it's more complex than just "eat kale." Did you know that many plants contain lectins? These natural plant-producing proteins stop certain insects and humans from eating them but can also cause inflammation. Some of the foods highest in lectins also happen to be the highest in antioxidants, too, like tomatoes, quinoa, goji berries, eggplant, which can seem confusing! But don't worry. Jay and Joy share the secrets to removing lectins from plant foods and getting the most nutritional benefits from any plant. The magic is in the preparation! Tune in and discover how you can have a healthy Thanksgiving, stick to your plant-based diet and avoid the dreaded muffin top! The Jing Slingers' top tips to prevent colds and flus during the holidays: • Activated charcoal binds toxins out of the intestinal tract. • Vitamin D3 helps your t-cells fight infections and viruses. • Mitolife DHA oil supports your immune system. • DNA detox rids your body of toxins and heavy metals so that you can feel strong, awake and revitalized. Holiday Gift Guide: If you're into detoxing, or have a friend or loved one who's into it, then we've scored the PERFECT discount code for you. The Jing Slingers have created the DNA Detox, an aqueous Zeolite solution that gets right into your mitochondria to detox your body at a cellular level. Zeolite is used in hazardous situations to mop up toxic spills and make sure they don't contaminate the soil or ground water. Jay and Joy have formulated it into a product you can safely take to pull toxins, mercury, heavy metals, and even glyphosate, out of your cells. We use it, and it WORKS. So if you want to start 2018 looking and feeling amazing, go to their foodhealsnation.com/jing and save $5 a bottle when you buy three or more- for a total of $15 off! Makes a great gift for friends & family too! Stay tuned because Jay and Joy will be back on the podcast in the New Year to share their strategies for your healthiest and most delicious year yet. Ep 178178: Gorgeously Green Tips for a healthy, happy Thanksgiving with Sophie Uliano

It's almost Thanksgiving — an exciting time of year to be grateful for what you have. But it can also be a stressful time for many. The holidays can be full of triggers — family, food, grief — sparked by an uncle whose politics you deplore, being tempted by unhealthy dishes, or the memory of lost loved ones who used to share the holidays with you. These gatherings can be so emotionally charged that they can destroy your health goals —raising your stress level and leading you to having that third helping of pecan pie. You're not alone. Today, we're deep-diving into the emotional triggers the holidays can bring up with special guest, Sophie Uliano, to help you have a happy, healthy Thanksgiving. After all, this is the time for gratitude, togetherness, and love. Sophie Uliano's Tips for a Healthy Happy Thanksgiving Sophie's mission is to help you feel amazing in your own skin and be excited about who you are. We are delighted our Gorgeously Green girlfriend shared some of her favorite Thanksgiving tips to help keep your vibration high this holiday season: Be prepared on every front. If you're going into a difficult family situation, spend a few days getting ready. Anticipate what might happen and decide how you will react. Journaling is extremely helpful to begin the process of letting go of those feelings. If you're going away for a few days, pack some healthy treats to take with you (granola, healthy smoothie mix, nuts, almond milk, etc.). Remember what the holidays are about: It's about love and spending time with people you care about and being grateful for the good in your life. Underneath the triggers, stress, and possible arguments, we're all one. We are human beings and we all want to be loved. So let's give some love and gratitude during the holidays! Stay tuned because Sophie will be back for our New Year special episode to talk about how you can detox your home with organic and natural products. Ep 177177: Unsung Heroes Who Risk Their Lives to Make the Planet a Healthier, Happier Place

Every second, 300 animals are killed for food. These animals are the ghosts of our food machine. Tortured, exploited, abused and murdered, farm animals are voiceless and unable to defend themselves which is why we need to stand up for them. That's exactly what today's guest, Nathan Runkle, has dedicated his life to doing. No one would stand by and watch a puppy or kitten get slammed head first into the ground yet that's exactly what happens to piglets. It's considered a standard agricultural practice and as such, is exempt from animal cruelty charges. The law doesn't provide protection for "food animals" however, the only difference between pets and animals for slaughter is our perception. Some are simply unfortunate enough to be born as a species that society says doesn't matter. Nathan grew up on a farm in a small town. At 15 years old, after witnessing the brutal murder of a piglet, he founded Mercy for Animals. He started by carrying out open rescues: going into farms' undercover and rescuing injured animals. Trawling through manure pits, witnessing first-hand the cruel conditions, and investigating the horror of slaughterhouses made him even more determined to give animals a voice and drive positive change in the world. Today, Mercy for Animals is an internationally recognized organization dedicated to animal rights and putting an end to the cruel and unsustainable factory farming industry. Let's face it, slaughterhouses don't have a place in a humane, peaceful world. In order for us to survive as a species, we need to switch to a plant-based diet. The good news is that on top of a growing vegan movement, cellular agriculture is growing quickly—it won't be too long before clean meat (meat without murder) makes it to supermarket shelves! Nathan has just written a book entitled "Mercy for Animals" to inspire people to take action on behalf of farm animals. It tells the story of the unsung heroes of the animal advocacy movement who risk their lives, physical safety and emotional wellbeing to shine a light in some of the darkest places in our society. This book will empower you and show you how you can make a difference to animals and help create a kinder, more sustainable world. Get involved! Here are some of Nathan's tips for animal advocacy: • How you can live your own values to the fullest? How can you embody loving compassion and respect? • Adopt a vegan diet—it's the best thing to do to help planet and the animals. • How can you be more proactive in driving change? • Get involved in animal rights: animals can't lobby for new laws; we need to do that for them. Check out Mercy for Animals for initiatives. • Use social media to spread information, hold companies accountable, and demand change. • Find your own unique voice; use your own perspective and talents to drive change for animals. Make donations. Money is energy. Taking on the 1 trillion-dollar global meat industry takes resources. Animal rights organizations need support. Ep 176176: Discussions of the Supernatural, Paranormal, Quantum Physics, Spirits and of course...ghost stories!

Welcome to our special Halloween episode! Join wellness-preneurs Eco-Vegan Gal, Whitney Lauritsen, Eaternity's, Jason Wrobel, and I Vegan You's, Nicole Derseweh, as they share their experiences of the supernatural! We spent last Halloween together and Nicole rocked the make-up brushes to make us all look totally dope. We're fascinated by the paranormal and the unexplainable. This is the perfect time of year to ask what you believe in. Do we really know who we are, where we came from? Do you believe in spirits, in aliens? We do! Quantum physics show that our brains can only detect a very small fraction of the reality that is available. This reality isn't the only reality, and these bodies aren't the only manifestation of our souls. Each of our Wellness Warriors has had real experiences with spirits and beings from other dimensions. Jason once woke up to find himself pinned to the couch by invisible forces. Nicole captured a dark energy on camera. Whitney accessed the spirit world in her sleep. Allison connected with loved ones on the other side. There's definitely something bigger than us, and there's no better time to share these stories than Halloween! Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 175175: Be a Badass at Making Money: How to Create an Abundant Business Doing What You Love

Turn your passion into your career! Join wellness-preneurs Eco-Vegan Gal, Whitney Lauritsen, My Healthy Hustle's Jason Wrobel, and I Vegan You's Nicole Derseweh as they drop knowledge bombs and their secrets on how to do what you love every day. Being a successful entrepreneur comes down to 7 key areas: Your Special Sauce There has never been and will never be another you. You need to double down on your special sauce—own whatever makes you unique. Don't hide your quirks. They are what make you relatable, and what make other people want to do business with you. No one is perfect! And when you are yourself, when you show up as you are, flaws and all, you empower others to do the same. When Alison started her wellness blog she thought she had to be the perfect picture of health and happiness 24/7. This meant her posts weren't authentic and the blog didn't get much of a following. It wasn't until she found her true voice and began to share her story on the podcast that Food Heals really took off. Your Story Our stories heal. When we share our stories, whatever our struggles or failures, someone listening will resonate with them. The more honest we are, the more our story can heal others and us. That's how we can be spiritual activists and help the world. Multiple Streams of Income If you just focus on one channel, you might be successful but only until the trend lasts, or the algorithm changes. Having more than one income stream means that you create a sustainable and stable revenue. Say you want to get into content creation. Did you know that there are over 30 ways to make money as a content creator? That's one of Whitney's courses. Her income streams come from coaching, consulting, courses, Eco Vegan Gal, and more. A Little Faith Today, Jason is a vegan chef, lifestyle coach and nutrition edu-tainer on a mission to reduce suffering and increase joy on this planet. But before this, he worked in advertising. The process of letting go of the old life wasn't easy. But there comes a point in our lives when we have to accept the gap between where we are and where we want to be, and take that leap of faith. Patience Accept that it won't be an overnight transformation. To start making a difference in people's lives and make an income, you need to build trust and that takes time. You need to be patient and committed to developing your brand a little each day and be ready for the long haul. Trust in the Universe We need to free ourselves from the constraints placed by our own minds, other people and society in order to be successful. It's about attitude. How much do you believe in yourself and your mission? And how much do you trust that the Universe has your back? No matter what level we're at, we don't know if the course will be successful, if the post will be shared, if that client will call back or if the video will go viral. We have to go beyond knowing into trusting in the Universe, intuition, and life. Abundance Mindset Do you have an abundance mindset? Abundance is consciously receiving that which has already being given to you—being grateful. When we are in that high, vibrational energy of gratitude, we attract the right people and opportunities into our lives. Nicole didn't even think she could make money from her passion, but it gave her so much joy that it transformed her energy and ended up sparking her acting career. Her genuine inner fulfilment meant that she attracted more of it into her life. Top tips to up-level your business Allison: Don't be too proud to work for free—it can massively pay off. Sometimes you have to put in the effort to get your foot in the door. It might take doing a few free speaking gigs to reach your tribe and grow your audience. Insta tip: Use your Instagram feed for your best posts, like a portfolio, and stories like an interview to share who you authentically are. Jason: Look at your business as you would an investment. The more sources of income you have, the more sustainable you become. Have as many consistent income streams as possible. Secret sauce: carve out your uniqueness and trust that the more you reveal of yourself the more people will embrace you. Nicole: Treat every role as if it is the award-winning one. It doesn't matter how many people show up for your course or your webinar, always give your best. Even if it's the smallest project, treat every opportunity like it is huge. Whitney: Figure out money issues which could get in the way of trying to generate income doing what you love. Check out "Money: A Love Story" by Kate Northrup, or Jen Sincero's "You're a Bad Ass at Making Money"—great books to help you figure out the emotional and energetic blocks to your financial abundance. Ep 174174: Decoding The Blue Zones: Health Hacks to Help You Live to 100

Welcome to Episode 3 of our 4-part Wellness Warrior series! This week, our plant-powered team includes How to Live to 100 host Jason Wrobel, vegan chef and unicorn brunch specialist Nicole Derseweh, and YouTube personality Eco-Vegan Gal Whitney Lauritsen who share their health hacks for longevity Have you heard of the blue zones? These are 5 cities across the world where people live the longest. What are their secrets? Pretty simple things, actually: movement, nourishing food, community, and spirituality. But it gets better! A longevity lifestyle includes wine (enjoyed responsibly), chocolate (the right kind) and sex (the good kind). Yay! Why are these things so good for you? Because they reduce the chronic stress our modern lifestyles are packed with. Diet, relationships (with ourselves and others), and stress are today's silent killers: they affect our health on a molecular level. But you have the power to protect your health, and live longer and happier. Epigenetics research shows that while our genetics load the gun, our lifestyle pulls the trigger. What this means is that while someone might have a family history of cancer or obesity, these genes only pre-dispose them to disease. How we choose to live our life will determine whether or not those genes wake up. Our daily lifestyle choices, our emotions, and our attitude all affect our genetic expressions. Of course, it's not just about just getting to 100 or living as long as possible: it's about being fit, healthy and happy as long as possible. Quality of life, not just quantity. For that, we need to go beyond just diet and exercise, and look at our attitude. How do you begin your day (check out our Morning Routine Episode)? How to you view yourself and your health? Do you put love into everything you do? If you want to live a long, vibrant life, you can make that choice: the choice to show up with an attitude of gratitude and a positive vibration. In the next episode of our Wellness Warrior series, we'll talk about how to do what you love every day AND how to turn that into a career! Stay tuned! Being hailed as "Sex and the City for Food," The Food Heals Podcast brings together experts in the field of nutrition, health and healing to teach you the best-kept natural secrets to being a hotter, healthier, happier YOU! Ep 173173: Alternative Medicine Secrets: What Your Doctor Isn't Telling You That Could Save Your Life

Welcome to the second episode of our Wellness Warrior series! We're round-tabling with vegan chef and actress (and rapper!) Nicole Derseweh, world-renowned leader in raw vegan cuisine and host of the J-Wro Wro show Jason Wrobel, and healthy living crusader & founder of Eco-Vegan Gal Whitney Lauritsen, to bring you our favorite alternative medicine secrets. These days, there's a pill for every ill. And often another pill to fight the side effects of the first one! While some pharmaceuticals can offer a temporary solution, who wants to take medication for the rest of their lives? Well, you don't have to. You can support your health and heal yourself naturally. Secret 1: Detox We're in a toxicity epidemic. Toxic food, toxic environment, toxic thoughts. Many of us have heavy metals in our bodies, like lead, cadmium and mercury, not to mention xeno-estrogens (plastic-based synthetic estrogen that disrupts hormones). An infrared sauna helps the body detoxify heavy metals through the skin. You can go to spa or get your own. You can gently detox every day by drinking plenty of water and choosing water-dense, fiber-rich, plant-based foods. Secret 2: Natural Happiness All too often depression is treated with SSRIs (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors). They may be okay as a bridge to help you over that first hurdle, but long-term they are not always the answer. Jason is living proof that you do not need to go down the pharmaceutical route. Diagnosed with clinical depression 3 years ago, he decided to boost his own serotonin and happy brain chemicals naturally. How? A combination of meditation, exercise, supplementation and self-love. Secret 3: Heart Health Heart disease is the number one killer in the US. The traditional western medicine response is surgery and medication. But did you know you can reverse heart disease? Studies show that a plant-based diet, meditation and fitness can reverse atherosclerosis. And Japanese research has found that the bacteria used to turn soy into nato (ultra fermented soy) actually eats the arterial plaque in the heart, cleaning it! But heart disease is more than just about saturated fat and processed foods. We reject affection, we block love, we shy away from connection, we're afraid, we don't love ourselves—heart disease is also a disease of empty heart. Our mindset and how much love we feel for ourselves and others also plays a huge role in our healing. Secret 4: Healthy Mindset Chronic pain indicates more than just a physical issue. Often, it's a sign of blocked or unresolved emotions. How do you view yourself, your life, your relationships? What are you saying when you feel unwell? Our beliefs create our reality. If you're constantly sick, what is going on in your life, in your mind, what is your attitude? Your mental energy and what you believe has the power to completely shift your healing. Top Wellness Warrior Alternative Medicine Tips: Nicole: Forget sugary snacks that end up making you tired—make your snacking raw and bioavailable instead, like dates, nuts, smoothies. For a caffeine-free healthy pick-me-up, go for Matcha green tea. Jason: Blood of the Dragon: A special tree sap from the Amazon, which creates a scab over deep wounds (you know, the kind you get when you're creating vegan art with a mandolin)! It completely healed Nicole's and Jason's chef injuries. Allison: Get a vibration machine (no! not THAT kind!)—a vibrating platform shakes up your whole body and really sets you up for meditation. And cryotherapy (shout out to CryoZone in Santa Monica!)—the freezing temperatures boost your body's healing potential and give you a natural high. Whitney: When Whitney got the flu recently, she turned to herbs, inflammation-fighters like ginger, garlic and turmeric, positive affirmations, and essential oils—you can use them internally as well as in a diffuser. Welcome to the first part of our brand new 4-part Wellness Warrior Series! And it starts just like any great day should: with a magical morning routine. Because how you begin each day dramatically affects every area of your life. We've all felt the difference between a day we begin with a tall glass of lemon water and a yoga practice, versus a day when we hit the snooze button fifteen times before grudgingly dragging ourselves out of bed, right? Our circadian rhythms can get totally out of balance, especially if we live in the city. There's artificial light, wifi, EMF, irregular work hours, etc. and these all affect how we sleep, how we wake up, and how good (or bad) we feel. That's why creating a magical morning routine can help you wrestle some of the control back, and work wonders for your wellness. Of course, there's no one-size-fits-all model. We can't all be early birds, thriving on 5am starts. You have to find your own sweet spot, just like today's guests. Listen now [bitly]! For Eco-Vegan Gal and healthy living crusader Whitney Lauritsen, water, meditation and movement are the top three priorities. She starts her day on her rebounder or takes a moment to spend time outside. She also suggests Journaling as also a great way to begin your day, by setting your intention and aligning with a positive vibration. The number one rule of magical morning routines, according to vegan chef, culinary comedian and Eaternity Author Jason Wrobel, is: Don't switch on your emails or social media before you've taken care of yourself. Jason's routine includes lots of water with either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to alkalize, meditation, exercise and a plant-based breakfast. A good morning begins the night before, so create a sleep sanctuary: turn off your wifi and electrical devices, invest in black-out curtains, leave your phone on airplane mode. Nicole Derseweh, vegan chef and founder of the Unicorn brunch pop up series in LA, begins her magical morning routine with a conscious loving breathing practice sending loving, healing energy to each part of her body and being grateful for how it has served her. She believes you should put your priorities at the top of your day. For her, it's community and friendship, so her morning routine includes a hike with girlfriends. Allison starts her day with a gratitude journal, and this is a simple practice that will change your entire day. As an energy boost, Allison practices various yoga poses utilizing breath of fire. The Kundalini Breath of Fire is an intense breathing practice that will get you fired up in the morning—great if you struggle to get up! And don't forget your green smoothie! You are the star and director of the movie of your life. You get to choose. Stay in bed and snooze, or get up and shine? Start your day believing in and attracted abundance, or start your day in fear and anxiety? When you start your day centered, you can create the day you want. By simply changing how you wake up, you can transform any area of your life faster than you ever thought possible. If you like the series so far, stay tuned! We've got three more topics to help you transform into a wellness warrior: Alternative Medicine Secrets: What Your Doctor Isn't Telling You That Could Save Your Life Be A Wellness Warrior: Longevity Revelations & Health Hacks to Help You Live to 100 Entrepreneurs Tell All: How to Create an Abundant Business Doing What You Love And if you want to delve deeper into wellness, then check out our Wellness Warrior video series. Ep 171171: Gut-Check! A Foolproof Plan to Heal Your Gut & Detox Your Body

Did you know that 75% of your immune system is in your gut? Or that 95% of your serotonin is produced in your intestines? Little wonder that it's sometimes called your "second brain!" According to Dr. Axe, there are four R's to healing the gut: • Remove • Replace • Repair • Rebalance Remove—foods and triggers that upset your gut • Stress • Unnecessary medication • Environmental toxins – remove non-organic foods, fast foods, unhealthy foods, GMO foods • Trigger foods – caffeine, gluten, dairy, refined sugar Replace—trigger foods with healing foods • Fermented veggies – sauerkraut and kimchi • Green juice • Organic nutrient rich fruits and veggies Repair—with supplements • Digestive enzymes • L-Glutamine acid • Liquorice root • Quercetin Rebalance • Probiotics (the good bacteria in your gut) • Prebiotics (what feeds the good bacteria in your gut) It was Hippocrates that first said "All disease begins in the gut." And he was right. Therefore, healing needs to begin in the gut. As you get started on your journey to health, this is the first place you need to focus some loving attention. We reached out to two of our favorite health and wellness experts, JJ Flizanes and Evita Ramparte, to talk all things digestion! Digestion is everything. It's your fuel source. Everything you put in your mouth gets broken down in your body and either gets used up as energy, gets turned into cells, or gets eliminated. The quality and variety of what you choose to eat determines how well your body functions. But modern diets are packed with allergens (GMOs, glyphosate-sprayed wheat, chemical additives, gluten, dairy, pesticides, etc.) that the gut cannot process. The result? Inflammation, depression, chronic disease. One of the most common digestive problems is leaky gut. Your gut wall is lined with villi—these are tiny finger-like structures that filter out food particles, absorbing the good stuff and keeping other stuff out. But when you eat foods that your body struggles to break down, it becomes wedged in your gut lining. Over time this creates micro tears in your intestine, which means undigested food particles, that are supposed to be contained within the gut wall, escape into your bloodstream. This triggers an immune response: your body attempts to protect itself from what it considers a foreign invader by sending white blood cells to attack. The result? Inflammation. And the more you keep eating foods you can't digest, the more tears appear, the more inflammation you experience, and the more your health deteriorates. The first thing to do if you want to heal your gut is a 2 to 4 week elimination diet. JJ teaches the best way to do this in her 5-month Invisible Fitness transformational program. Symptoms of poor digestion: • Skin irritation – eczema, rashes, etc. • Constipation • Irritable bowel syndrome • Bloating • Gas • Diarrhea • Cramps • Excess mucus (throat and nose) • Are you pooping right? Check out the Bristol Stool Chart! But more than just diet, your emotions are heavily involved in gut health. In fact, how you digest food is linked to how you digest life. When your emotions are blocked, they're usually blocked in the gut. If you have a digestive issue that no supplementation is fixing, it could be an emotional issue. If you're sad or stressed or holding on to anger, your gut responds to that. Goddess of Wellness and Tigress of Business, Evita Ramparte shares her secrets to healing your gut through juice cleansing. Evita healed her ovarian cancer and lost 50 pounds in just a few months thanks to detoxing, a raw vegan diet, and transforming her emotions. You can listen to her incredible healing story in Episode 57. Ep 170170: Proven Essential Strategies to Become Healthier & Happier & Hotter

Welcome to our Tuesday Q&A! Before we get to the questions, we want to share our favorite tips for becoming healthier, happier, AND hotter. Listen now [bitly]! • Do something you love every single day. Dancing, singing, painting, spending time with loved ones, cooking--whatever your passion, carve out time in your day to experience something that brings you joy. Even devoting just five minutes to your passions will leave you feeling more uplifted all day and that joy will extend into all areas of your life. • • Choose Happiness. Happiness doesn't come from external things (new car, promotion, marriage, baby, etc.) it comes from within. Your happiness is a choice. And the way into that happiness is gratitude. Check out the book Believing in Myself by Earnie Larsen. • Eat high vibe energizing food. No, we're not talking about caffeine. ;) Most of us are stuck in a junk-food cycle. We eat foods that make us feel sluggish. We opt for sugar and coffee to perk ourselves up, which only leaves us feeling more tired. Break the cycle and focus on high vibe energizing foods instead. Think: a banana with a spoonful of nut butter, veggies dipped in tahini dressing, avocado and aminos, fruit or vegetable smoothies, raw soups, green powders, maca, chia seeds, cacao…. • Forgive and be grateful. If you hold onto anger or judgement against another person, or yourself, it only hurts you. Holding onto anger is like holding a hot coal. If you want to be free and experience true happiness, you must forgive and release that negative emotion. You can choose to be a loving human being to yourself and to others. The way to get there is through gratitude. Now let's dig into this week's questions! Question 1: What's the best way to tone and lift a saggy butt? We reached out to Ella Magers for her secrets to a toned and tight booty. There is no one-size-fits-all perfect butt: a sexy booty is the healthiest fittest version of your own. To achieve that, you're going to need to clean up your diet and do some targeted exercises. Squats and lunges are your best friends. Depending on your specific goals, you'll either need to do more reps (to tone up) or add some weights (to build and firm). If you want an awesome work out for your booty, then check out the Brazil Butt Lift Workout! Question 2: What are your thoughts on plant milks and which do you recommend? To answer this question in depth we asked Eco Vegan Gal Whitney Lauritsen, our go-to-girl for the latest in vegan research and taste-testing. We love plant milks and have probably tried all of them, but here are some of our favs: Oatly oat milk (we're a bit obsessed with this one, it's super creamy!) and So Delicious coconut milk are perfect if you have a nut sensitivity because they're nut free. If you don't have an issue with nuts, then Milkadamia macadamia nut milk Califia Farms almond milk, Forager cashew milk, and Rice Dream rice milk are all delicious. You can make milk from most nuts and grains (like quinoa, hazelnuts, flax seeds, hemp seeds, etc.) so experiment to find your favorite. Whatever brand you go for, make sure you check the ingredients—some brands are more processed than others. Question 3: How flexible is JJ Flizane's Invisible Fitness Course and what's included? JJ's five-month transformation course, Invisible Fitness, is a self-paced online program. When you sign up, you decide when you want to start. You get a 30-minute coaching call with JJ every month where you can get support with whatever you need. These coaching calls can be grouped together to fit your unique needs. You also get personal attention from JJ via her Invisible Fitness Academy, where you'll find a supportive community and accountability partners. The course is flexible and customizable! You can get in touch with JJ at [email protected] for more information. If you want to reach your fitness and wellness goals, and be the healthiest, happiest and hottest version of yourself, then JJ's course is perfect for you—but hurry because there are only 2 weeks left to enroll! Click here to get all the details about the course, plus fabulous bonuses! Natural Tooth Powder Recipe The most important thing you can do for your teeth and mouth is to move away from conventional toothpaste brands, as they contain ingredients that are known to disrupt hormones and irritate gums. Instead, make your own mouth-and-tooth-friendly natural products. This is Suzy's new and improved tooth powder recipe: • 1/2 cup baking soda (neutralizes the acids in your mouth, makes your mouth alkaline, which means bacteria can't grow there) • 3 tbsp calcium carbonate powder (for healing receding gums) • 1/8 cup Himalayan salt, milled very fine (for tightening gums) • 10-20 drops therapeutic grade essential oil (peppermint, spearmint, lemon, clove, you can blend these to suit you) Optional: • You can also add 1 tbsp dried herbs like mint, sage, parsley, lavender – get experimental and add an earthy vibe to your toothpaste! • For

Ep 168168: Overcoming Panic Attacks and Getting to a Place of Peace with Finding Vegan's Kathy Patalsky

We've admired her for a long time and we're so glad to have her on the show! Kathy Patalsky was inspired by her love of animals and her struggles with an eating disorder to start the vegan food blog HealthyHappyLife over a decade ago. But as we know, being a successful eco-entrepreneur isn't always easy. Too much work, no socializing, no time to process emotions. Invariably this affects our physical health. For Kathy, this manifested as asthma flare-ups, exhaustion, depression, and panic attacks. Doctors and naturopaths couldn't diagnose anything specific. The cause: repressing emotions. Pretending everything is ok. Basically, faking it. Can you relate? We can! And we need to stop. It's natural not to want to be judged for feeling sad, or being unable to cope with a crazy workload, or not being "perfect." But, plastering a smile on your face and saying, "I'm fine" only makes it worse. You need to be vulnerable sometimes, to be gentle with yourself, to reach out to a friend, to give in to what your body is calling out for, whether that's a hug, a walk in nature, a massage, meditation, or healthy plant-based food. Kathy's websites HealthyHappyLife and FindingVegan are the perfect places to get inspired to add more vegan goodness to your life. And with the app, you can literally veganize any dish (there are over 116,000 recipes!!). If you're a plant-based food blogger, head to Kathy's Facebook Group to connect with and get support from like-minded people. If you have a question about veganism or panic attacks, reach out to Kathy via her FB or Twitter. Kathy has also written the best-selling books 365 Vegan Smoothies (where you'll find smoothies for your every wellness need) and Healthy Happy Vegan Kitchen (which groups together Kathy's favorite and most popular recipes). Ep 167167: How to Finally Lose Weight, Change Addictive Behaviors & End Body Shame

E

Are you addicted? Probably. Addiction is simply a movement away from feeling something. Most of us don't want to feel—we seek to distract ourselves. And most of us are addicted—to coffee, to control, to sugar, to approval, to people pleasing, to social media, etc. These addictions are simply the strategies we've found to keep ourselves from experiencing, and expressing, unpleasant feelings and emotions. Feelings don't just appear out of nowhere. They are an energy born of your mental chatter. First you have a thought. From that comes an interpretation (depending on your life experience), which then determines how you feel about it. "The emotion that can break your heart is often the very one that heals it." In other words, you have to feel it to heal it. Unexpressed emotion and repressed anger will only cause more of the same, and damage your health too. So how can you embrace and process your feelings? Tune in to discover JJ's 3-step process! What about body shame? No matter our shape or size, the majority of us have some form of body shame: we dislike our bodies, put ourselves through extreme workouts, go on diets, but nothing ever works. And this is because we're only addressing the surface. Everything from your biology to your spirituality, your endocrine system, thoughts and beliefs, are all part of fitness, even though they're invisible. We need to go deeper than dieting and exercise. JJ Flizanes is an empowerment strategist, personal trainer, podcast host and best-selling author. Her latest book "The Invisible Fitness Formula: 5 Secrets to Release Weight & End Body Shame" is dedicated to helping you address the emotional causes of weight gain, and reconnect with your body. Ep 164164: How Michael Quit the 9 to 5 Grind and Built a Healthy, Vegan Desert Shop

Frozen Fruit Co is all about soft serve fruit. Michael & Victoria originally came up with the concept whilst in London. They both suffer from a massive sweet tooth, but at the same time are conscious about what they eat - two things which don't always go together. So, they came up with their fruit swirl recipes. Not to be confused with frozen yogurt Frozen Fruit Co's soft serve is made by taking fruits and mixing them together to create amazing layered tastes. They add some natural fruit extracts or dates for sweetness and then cool and whip into their all fruit soft serve - made daily at their Santa Monica store. Michael & Victoria wanted to create a product where you could have your cake and eat it - for anyone with a sweet tooth like them that love frozen desserts but who wants a better tasting, more natural product which they can feel good about eating and feeding to their families. Ep 163163: How to Connect with Spirit, Tap into Happiness and Trust to Your Intuition

E

Kathleen Moore is a psychic medium with over 25 years' experience. From very young, she had the ability to see things differently and reach out to the spirit world. She sees into her clients' future, and helps them connect with passed loved ones. Death not the end, it is merely a transformation of energy. They're still here, but in a different form. Death is not a permanent separation. They're simply gone home, back to the spirit world—a world intrinsically connected with the physical one. This is why it is possible to reach out to them. Kathleen is also an intuitive coach and spiritual counselor. She will help you uncover your truth, live a more authentic life, and find happiness. It's a myth and an ego-trick to think happiness is hard—happiness is easy. Every challenging experience helps to bring you to a higher vibration, if you choose to perceive it that way. What you allow is what will occur—shift your perspective. See things from a place of love. Trust your intuition and your inner voice. After all, that is why we are here: to experience, to teach, to love, to bring our souls to a higher vibration. And when it comes to love, Kathleen dispels the myth that we only have one soulmate. We have thousands! Some will be lovers, others plutonic relationships. Some may last a year, others a lifetime. If you're destined to be together, you will be. Ep 162162: Healing Multiple Sclerosis with Kundalini Yoga, Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture

E

At just 27 years old, Isabelle Shuman received a diagnosis that changed her life forever: Multiple Sclerosis. She was told to get ready for a wheelchair, and given long list of pharmaceuticals with an even longer list of side effects. But she's a tough chick, and had experienced the benefits of holistic healing at a young age, when acupuncture had healed her migraines. She knew there was another way. She chose to embark on a different path: a holistic path towards health. Isabelle left New York and its stressed-out party scene, and came to LA where she studied yoga, meditation, and acupuncture. She feels that she is here to help others heal, and each of her patients has had symptoms Isabelle herself has experienced throughout her life. Auto immune diseases are not curable. They lie dormant, and can flare up at various stages, depending what's going on in your life. But if you are at peace with the fact it's going to be up and own, and create healing protocols for those moments, you're not shaken to the core when it happens, you can deal with it. Healing your body, whatever the issue, is first and foremost about the mind. Isabelle stopped saying "I have MS" and replaced it with "I was diagnosed with MS." Because what we say to ourselves reflects in our health and in our whole life. Focus on what you want to create. You can manifest anything you desire, as long as you fully believe in it. Using a combination of functional medicine, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and kundalini, Isabelle was able to heal her multiple sclerosis and is now healthy and thriving. She's on a mission to help others throw off disease and enjoy vibrant health. Ep 161161: How to Heal Chronic Pain and Improve Your Libido with Medical Marijuana

E

It's hard to believe today, but up until 1937, marijuana was available over the counter in every pharmacy in the country. But for various political and business reasons, this ancient remedy was vilified, demonized, and marginalized. It's now classed by the government as a Schedule 1 substance, putting it in the same category as heroin. Thankfully, the tide is shifting once more to recognizing the marijuana's medical potential. Working in ER, Dr. Rachna Patel would see many patients come in suffering as a result of accidental or intentional opioid overdose. She also witnessed patients become addicted to these pharmaceutical painkillers. Marijuana had never been mentioned in medical school, but when Rachna came across a study that showed marijuana could reduce patients' dependence on opioids, she knew it was time to change direction. In 2012, Dr. Rachna Patel opened up her own clinic. She now helps patients in the Bay area California to safely use medical marijuana to treat a range of conditions from chronic pain to anxiety and insomnia. "It's a very real medicine," she says, and compared to pharmaceuticals, which are responsible for thousands of deaths each year, medical marijuana is a safe and natural solution. If you have any questions, check out Dr. Rachna's YouTube channel or Facebook page. Ep 158158: Medical Mysteries Solved! How to Reverse Auto-Immune Diseases & Detox Your Body Naturally

E

Millions of people struggle with autoimmune conditions – maybe you're one of them. If you are, then listen up: You CAN heal yourself. You don't have to go through a lifetime on prescription pills, just managing your symptoms, masking your pain. You can heal, and you can thrive. Today's guest is living proof that the body can heal itself if given the tools it needs to do so. From the age of 12, Lauren Tatarchuk was a medical mystery. Diagnoses were proclaimed: fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, lupus, Lyme disease. She struggled with chronic pain, exhaustion, muscle weakness, severe migraines—she didn't have the strength to get out of bed without Adderall. Lauren was so heavily medicated that she doesn't remember much of her adolescence. She was on a shoebox of pills every day – until that day she snapped, ripped the medicine box off the wall and threw the pills across the room. She fell to the floor, sobbing. Enough was enough. Enough with the pills, and enough with the victim mentality. She'd had enough of the medical crutches, she was going to let her pain fuel her motivation to get well naturally. Lauren is now a regenerative detoxification specialist, biofeedback expert, and is leading the Heal Yourself Revolution. She uses iridology and bio-resonance to help people release old emotions and heal physical conditions. Having healed herself of her autoimmune conditions, she knows it IS possible and wants to be a message of hope to anyone suffering with chronic illness. Lauren wants to use her story to move the masses from being victims to taking charge of their health. Lauren's coaching program starts in August and you can get on the waiting list by clicking here. For Lauren, being a Spirit Junkie is all about standing up for what you believe and being unapologetic about expressing who you are on an authentic level. And if you want to be part of this growing community, we're excited to announce that enrollment for the Spirit Junkie Masterclass Digital is open (but only until Thursday June 29th!). There has never been a better time to create the life you want and dive into your heart-centered business. When you sign up, you'll also get over bonuses worth over $1900, including two coaching calls with Gabby and all the tools and resources you'll need to to take that next step to living abundantly. And of course, you get access to the Spirit Junkie community, where you'll get support and accountability from beautiful souls who are on the same path as you. There's a reason you're being called to this training. Now is the time to listen to that call. Ep 157157: How to Empower Women & Girls in the Digital Age with Dr. Carla Stokes

E

We live in a strange distorted time. A time of Instagram filters, airbrushing and plastic surgery. Remember that embarrassing incident in high school? Now imagine it had been Facebook Live'd. It's a whole new ball game for today's teenagers. They are under so much pressure to be flawless, to be popular, to be liked. Dr. Carla was an awkward teenager, she simply didn't fit in. She struggled with body image issues and low self-esteem. But she knew that she wanted to become an adult that young girls could talk to. Now, Dr. Carla is a transformational life coach for teenage girls, and an inspirational speaker. Her Teen Girl University is a girl empowerment program that teaches girls what they're not being taught at school: Self-love, mindfulness, healing the sisterhood wound; her program helps girls come together globally to connect with, encourage, and support each other. Dr. Carla also runs a business academy dedicated to teaching women how to create sustainable and profitable businesses through speaking and coaching. The biggest challenge she comes across with her business clients is one she also had to overcome: lack of confidence to charge for work. So how can you step out of a mindset that holds you back? Carla sought a mentor, and found Gabby Bernstein's Spirit Junkie community. She's gone through the Spirit Junkie Digital Masterclass, Level 2 and Mastermind, and it has been transformational. The training gave her permission to move into her heart and go into a place of intuitive knowledge; and it gave her the tools to create an abundance mindset. Ep 156156: How to Design the Life You Want, Transform Your Beliefs and Do What You've Been Dreaming of

E

We're so happy to welcome Heather Fantin back on the podcast. Heather was a guest for our New Year's Special episode where she shared her tips on how to step into love. If you've not listened to it yet, check it out and discover her inspiring healing story. Heather is a Spirit Junkie and Spiritual Breakthrough Coach who helps clients heal their relationship with themselves so that they can make lasting positive change and start living their soul's purpose. She's the founder of the Soul on Fire Retreat and the Inner Circle Group, where you can get tools and support for your own transformation. If you've been thinking, dreaming or meditating about your perfect life but something is holding you back, it's time for the Spirit Junkie MasterClass Digital. And we're excited to announce that the cart is finally open! Maybe you're not even sure what you want to do, you just sense something's not quite right, that there must be "more to life than this." That is the call to do something different and to follow your passion. That is the call to step into action. Sure, it can be scary; transformational times can feel like chaos. Think about the caterpillar. It has to dissolve into a transformational soup before emerging as a beautiful butterfly. In the same way, you have to surrender to the flow of the universe and trust that the transformation will happen and that you will be guided to the right teachers. Mindset is everything, because your mindset creates your experience. When you are in a place of transformation, when you want to make changes, being in a place of surrender is the most powerful thing you can do. Let go of the conditioning that is holding you back. Here are Heather's tips to release negative beliefs and step into your transformative power: • Step 1: Awareness – become clear about what your beliefs are, and where they come from. Journal about them. • Step 2: Verify – ask yourself "is it true?" "who am I when I think this thought?" "am I willing to see it differently, with love?" • Step 3: Let go – surrender the belief to the lens of guidance (check out Heather's guided meditations) • Step 4: Evidence – create an evidence journal and collect evidence that the opposite is true. • Step 5: Experience the emotions related to those beliefs, allow the emotions to come up so you can release them. • Step 6: Forgive. Forgive others and forgive yourself. • Step 7: Create a new empowering story. • Step 8: Make a powerful positive manifestation statement • Step 9: Daily aligned right action – what step can you take today that will bring you closer to your goals? What does Heather have to say about the Spirit Junkie Masterclass? Tune into your heart. If you're questioning whether or not you should do it, there's a part inside you that knows. And if you're listening to this Podcast, you are being called to rise up in your own life, find your unique gift and share it with the world. We need more light workers on the planet. The Spirit Junkie Masterclass will guide you through that process. Come be a part of a community of people who are making an incredible difference in the world. Say yes to the journey, the universe will figure out the how. And this is no ordinary training. It combines ethereal spiritual tools with practical business tools. Want to live a miraculous life? Spirit Junkie Masterclass is for you. So do yourself and the world a favor, and step into your higher calling—because how you show up ripples out into the world. Ep 155155: From Bankrupt to Millionaire: How Toni Healed Healed her Childhood Trauma and Stepped into her Power

E

Childhood sexual trauma is a taboo topic that is rarely discussed openly. As a result, millions of people globally suffer in silence, repressing their feelings and memories, and carrying guilt, shame and anger within themselves. We lock our pain away deep within our brains, we naturally want to reject it. But attempting to hold these feelings in, or pretend they don't exist, doesn't work—the pain simply finds another way to come out, through addiction, lashing out, disease. We need to see the trauma, feel it, talk about it, release it. In order to completely heal, we need to fully embrace and accept our past pain, and be grateful for it. It is when we can find the gratitude for our challenges, that we can truly rise up and help others heal. Toni Lewis is a Spirit Junkie, successful entrepreneur, blogger and mother, with an incredible healing story. She experienced sexual trauma at a young age, went through therapy, and assumed it was all resolved. Except it wasn't. A few years ago, she hit rock bottom. She was exhausted, unable to control her tiredness, too busy and stressed out with her business and her family, not eating properly. But underneath all of that, at the very core, was her trauma. It was a wake-up call. Even at a young age, Toni had the sense that what she was experiencing would help her to help other people living through the same thing. After taking Levels 1 and 2 of Gabby's Spirit Junkie Masterclass, she's doing exactly that. As an active member of New Zealand's health and wellness community, Toni helps people to move beyond their limiting beliefs, step into their power and heal their trauma. Watch out for her upcoming book, a memoir of her journey that will include healing tools and strategies. Go to her website and sign up to be the first to know when it's ready, and to read her inspiring blog. You can also join her private Facebook group, Spiritual Home with Toni Lewis, a safe space and beautiful community where you can talk about your trauma and receive support. For Toni, taking the Spirit Junkie Masterclass Levels 1 and 2 was totally transformational. She wasn't sure why she was there. But she had an unshakeable sense that she had to be there. She travelled two days to get to New York from New Zealand, but when she walked into the workshop, she felt like she'd come home—she was in a roomful of people just like her. After the training, ideal clients started calling, and the money started coming in. From near bankruptcy, her family construction company is now multi-million company. We're super excited to announce that the 3rd video in Gabby's free Spirit Junkie Mini Video Series is now LIVE: The Number One Way to Stand Out and Make an Impact Doing What You Love. Check it out! This one ROCKS, it will teach you how to make publicity and marketing FUN (instead of scary), and how to make an impact and create a movement. Gabby will share her secret method for standing out and being heard. And you only have to wait a few more days before we tell you all the details how you can join the Spirit Junkie Digital Masterclass, and how you can get bonuses worth over $1,900! Ep 151151: Anti-Aging Secrets & DNA Detoxing Methods You've Never Heard of with the Jing Slingers

E

When you eat the whole plant, you're getting the whole deal. That's why we find so many healing plants in nature. Interestingly, almost every pharmaceutical medicine has its roots in nature. But modern medicine extracts one compound and turns it into pill form (with undesirable side effects). When you eat a whole plant however, you're getting all the other nutrients working synergistically together to heal your body. Food Heals favorites Joy and Jay are passionate about whole tonic herbs. From that passion, Jing Slingers were born. Joy is a badass cop turned anti-aging superfood master. Jay is a yogi and tonic herbalist with over 50,000 tonic elixirs to his name. Together they create cleverly conscious comfort food that's as good as your granny's banana bread with the added benefits of supercharging your health all the way to your cells. (We tried their superfood caramel and can testify to this – best. Caramel. EVER). Since they were last on the show, the Jing Slingers have been working on a tonic to rival all tonics. Most modern diseases result from a dysfunction of the mitochondria, our cells' power-producers. These are the molecules responsible for our core life energy. But we live in concrete jungles, breathe in polluted air, are bombarded by wifi radiation, drink chemical water—our cells are overwhelmed. They need a detox tonic. Enter the DNA Detox, an aqueous zeolight solution that penetrates deep into the cells' mitochondria and eliminates environmental toxins, heavy metals, and even BPA's. A next level solution to the next level toxicity we are dealing with. But that's not all, they've also moved back to nature. At their retreat, Waterstone in North Carolina, you can experience life away from wifi signals, polluted air, and stress, and enjoy forest bathing, foraging, and of course, Joy and Jay's mind-blowing culinary delights. We'll definitely be going :-) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Marina Yanay-Triner is the soul behind Soul in the Raw, a website dedicated to helping people go vegan in a sane, healthy, and delicious way. Marina's journey towards a raw vegan lifestyle began when she witnessed her mom's healing transformation. Marina's mom had interstitial cystitis, a chronic bladder disorder that left her unable to live a normal life. Doctor after doctor prescribed pills and injections but nothing worked. Taking matters into her own hands, she went on a 28-day water fast, before transitioning to a raw vegan lifestyle. She completely healed herself. Witnessing her mother's amazing recovery made Marina want to reconnect with her body. In high-school, she'd been sexually assaulted by her boyfriend. This caused Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which affected her digestion and emotions. But when she got into raw plant-based food, she was able to heal her physical and emotional trauma. Marina set up Soul in the Raw to show vegans and wannabe vegans how delicious and flavorful raw plant-based food can be. She was told she would never have her own children. She went straight to the fertility clinic, and put her name on a list for a donor egg. She was lucky enough to conceive, and now has two beautiful children. But her health got worse: sinusitis, colds, yeast infections, headaches, vertigo. Later, while studying health coaching, she discovered that she had a food intolerance. As soon as she eliminated allergens from her diet, all her health issues went away. Could these food intolerances have caused her ovarian failure? It's hard to be 100% sure, but Sarah is now on a mission to let couples know there is a lot they can do with nutritional therapy to improve their fertility. Check out her 3-day fertility diet challenge. Want to know how fertile you might be? Take her fertility quiz! How can we balance a healthy lifestyle and living life? Sarah has the answers. Ep 147147: Living Your Dreams, The Secret to Eternal Youth and Empowering the Rebel Hearts

E

Kristie Reeves's new show, Rebel Hearts, is all about empowering the rebels of this world to make a change. There's so much negativity and wars and crime going on in the world today. But at the same time things are changing for the better. The change makers are stepping up. A wave of people making a positive difference. You can catch Kristie's inspiring show on Universal Broadcasting Network. You go to the doctor because you think they have the answers, but these days doctors aren't looking at what's causing the illness. They're much more interested in giving you a pill. So you take the pill, then you take another pill to counteract the side effects of the first pill. But there IS another option: nutrition, acupuncture, spirituality, emotional work, changing your lifestyle. While their background differs—Suzy was brought up on green juices and vitamins, while Allison grew up eating the standard American diet—they are both passionate advocates of a plant-based diet. Are you following your dreams? If everyone on this planet did what they wanted, the world would be such a happy place. We wouldn't even need to compete with each other, because we all have a unique energy and unique gifts… we all have a unique soul song. Whatever you want to do, do it. If you want to sing, if you want to write, if you want to be a parent… do what brings you joy every day. That's how we flourish. If we can do a little thing every single day, we can change the world! Ep 146146: Life Lafter Divorce: Using Laughter to Heal and the Truth About Love

E

Relationships. They are complicated things. Have we put too much expectation onto marriage? People used to get married to carry on the family farm or form new family links. Now, thanks to fairytales and Disney, we expect some perfect thing, to be swept off our feet, to never argue. But in fact, it isn't the long heart to hearts at 2am that keep a couple together, but rather those everyday moments—going shopping together, taking out the trash so that your partner doesn't have to, holding each other's hand during a movie. You need to learn your own love language. Perhaps because of all the expectations we place on marriage, divorce statistics are through the roof. Leanne Linsky is one of those statistics. Married at just 22 to her first serious boyfriend, Leanne found herself divorced three years later. A few years later, she followed the same pattern: married again, and divorced within a few years. She was crushed. But she was also determined that it would not be the end of her. After her second divorce, Leanne lay, in a fetal position, on her bedroom floor – she knew she had to make major changes. But she didn't know what she wanted. Married so young, she didn't know who she was. Determined to step into her true self, she started saying YES to everything. Her life began to shift. She felt a new strength. She vowed that no matter what she did, she was not going to grow old, with nine cats, bitter and hateful of men. One of the things Leanne said a big YES to was standup comedy. Once she started taking the classes, she was hooked. Joining the two things she knew best, comedy and divorce, Leanne launched Life Lafter Divorce two years ago, offering improv classes to fellow divorcees. Improv is about not caring, it's about letting go—you never know what's coming. If you try to control it, it fails…. A bit like a marriage! Leanne has created a safe space where people can let go of their pain, realize they are not alone, and use laughter to heal. Her podcast interviews a variety of guests about their divorce experiences and "haha" moments. Check out her website for her next improv workshops! Ep 145145: The One Kitchen Must-Have to Transform Your Health, Lose Weight and Detox Daily

According to the stats, we're eating on average two portions of fruits and vegetables a day…. And this includes ketchup and potato fries! Truth is, for optimum health, we need to be eating more like between 5 and 10. Sounds like a lot to chew? This is where blending comes in. You can throw it all in a blender and drink your veggies! Tarashaun always knew she wanted to work for herself. She began her entrepreneurial journey by selling jewelry on eBay. When she bought a high-power blender, she knew she had to share its magic with others. Smoothies, soups, ice cream, grinding grains—the versatility of this machine motivated Tarashaun to launch BlenderBabes and inspire people to make more than just smoothies. If you're confused about blending, BlenderBabes is the site for you. She takes blenders through rigorous testing and offers honest reviews to help you choose your perfect kitchen companion. Tarashaun also has an incredible healing story to share. She overcame a decade of disordered eating and wants to share her experience to help others. So many of us have an unhealthy relationship with food. For Tarashaun, reading The Secret opened her eyes to how she could use self-love and acceptance to heal. An eating disorder doesn't have to last forever—it is possible to move forward from it, and self-love is an essential part of that. If you want to dive into health, why not give Tarashaun's Blender Cleanse a go? It's a five-day program that helps you prepare your body for the cleanse, and provides enough nutrients and diversity to keep you satiated. Unlike a juice cleanse, you won't be "hangry." Ep 144144: How to Never Get Sick Again & Secrets to Becoming a Glow Warrior

One in two people in the USA suffer from a chronic illness—365 million people. Amy Kurtz was one of them. She understands the loneliness that comes with a debilitating condition, and the frustration of going to doctor after doctor being offered nothing but pills. At 14, Amy's life changed dramatically. She bent down to pick up a book, and felt a shooting pain up her spine. And this pain simply didn't go away. For ten years, she took the heavy-duty pain killers and muscle relaxants she was prescribed. Then, at 25, during a trip abroad, she picked up a parasite that tipped her body's balance completely. She gained 30 pounds in 30 days. She couldn't keep any food down, and she couldn't go to the bathroom. She was bedridden for a month. Specialists told her food allergies didn't matter, and kept prescribing antibiotics and pills. Finally, a doctor told her that her colon would never work, and she might as well have it removed. This was rock bottom. But Amy didn't give up. She knew she had to do something to help herself. She stopped eating gluten. Just two days after, her pain disappeared, as though it had never existed. She embarked on a holistic healing journey, empowering herself with the knowledge to heal her mind, body and spirit. She's now a certified health coach, Pilates instructor, author and speaker. Chronic conditions are often invisible – people don't see them, and those suffering rarely speak about their illness for fear of being belittled or ridiculed. Amy woke up one day and realized she had to write a book and share her story. She wanted to create a collection of information to help people with chronic illness rebalance their bodies and move into health. Her book Kicking Sick is a collection of healing stories and Glow Warrior strategies to heal the spiritual, emotional and nutritional. Written to spark a new way of thinking, Kicking Sick helps tailor your lifestyle to transform you from the inside out and get you back into balance. Ep 143143: Nine Steps to Overcoming Depression & Anxiety To Finally Thrive

Self-improvement – once a women-centric activity, now more and more men are showing up in yoga class, in meditation and in holistic health. Justin Stenstrom is at the forefront of this exciting movement. Nine years ago, Justin went through a huge transformational period. He freed himself from depression anxiety and panic attacks, and began helping others overcome the same struggle. Elite Man Magazine was born. The website is a collection of advice for men, to help them gain confidence and become true gentlemen. His podcast interviews the best minds from the business, dating, health, fitness and social worlds. Depression is characterized by regret of the past; anxiety is fear of the future. Either way, you're not in the present moment. The key to overcoming both these mental conditions is getting back to the now. Justin's got nine simple steps to help you do just that: 1. Realize you're not going crazy. Depression happens to most of us at one time or another. 2. Use a combination of hypnosis, meditation or yoga (Justin's favorites are Eckhart Tolle, Paul McKenna and Dr. Andrew Dobson) 3. Live in the present moment. 4. Exercise, move around 5. Get enough sleep! We're typically under-sleeping, but this increases our stress, causes cortisol levels to go through the roof and decreases serotonin. 6. Improve your diet—good fats, complex carbs, healthy protein—optimize what you're putting into your body. 7. Take supplements—one of the best anti-depressant supplements is magnesium. 8. Socialize! We need human connection to fully thrive. 9. Find a purpose in life. Whether it's a hobby, career change or following a passion. Find the thing that makes you jump out of bed every day, and go after it. Ep 142142: How To Travel The World, Eat a Plant-Based Diet and Make Decisions from a Place of Love

Mel Bee became interested in nutrition after she overcame bulimia and depression in her early twenties. When she transitioned to a plant-based lifestyle she realized just how much food can contribute both to disease, and to wellbeing. After a decade of research into detoxing and holistic plant-based nutrition, she's on a mission to spread the word. Leaving behind her 9 to 5, Mel got into freelance writing and set off traveling in an old VW campervan—with some funny tales to tell! As a detox coach, she helps women step into vibrant health by detoxing their cupboards and their minds from junk foods and junk thoughts. Speaking of rubbish foods, did you know that over 75% of "edible" products in supermarkets are considered "non-food" items – yep, they're THAT processed. The situation seems better in Europe, but even there, junk foods and associated diseases like diabetes are on the rise. The dire food situation seems to be matched by the scary political and environmental issues we're facing. So how do we deal with it? We send out love. That's the only energy powerful enough to bring about positive change in the face of so much darkness. We're not powerless. Each of us can choose to make every decision with love –be it the food we eat, the brands we buy, the way we behave towards others. We can make a difference every day. For Mel, this is how we create a greener, fairer, happier world. Ep 140140: The Truth About Sea World, How to Save Animals and the Best Bites at Vegan Street Fair

People go vegan for different reasons. Some of us are drawn to a plant-based diet because of the health implications, some of us can't stand the thought of the cruelty of industrial farming. Jessica was inspired to go vegan after a trip to Sea World. Realizing just how unhappy the dolphins were, Jessica knew she had to change her lifestyle. Tired of being sent to steak houses by the vegan apps she was using, Jessica began designing her own. When she saw how many vegan restaurants there were in LA, she had a brain wave: to gather them all together in a street fair and spread the vegan love to as many people as possible. Jessica's mission is to plant a seed, and create more vegans by making plant-based food affordable and accessible. The Vegan Street Fair is in its 3rd year and this year will be bigger than ever—the best thing? It's free, family friendly, and a fantastic way for you to try bite-sized portions of many different vegan delicacies. It can be tough to navigate our crazy world in a healthy and holistic way. Here are some of Jessica's tips for doing it with grace: • Do what you can – progress over perfection. • Find a community of like-minded people, who are on the same journey. • Be ok with screwing up – don't try to be perfect. • Don't want to give up cheese? Check out Miyokos and Yvonne's Vegan Kitchen for the best vegan alternatives. • Check out Vegan Street Fair! LA's Vegan Street Fair takes place on 26th March between 11am and 7pm. Ep 139139: The Healing Power of CBD Oil, The Only Toothpaste You Will Ever Need Again and Our Favorite Greens

Our first question is from Linda, who wants to know which green powders we recommend, and how to choose a high quality brand. Soils are over-farmed and the resulting fruits and vegetables don't contain as many nutrients as they once did. Which means that, even if you eat a rainbow every day, you still need to supplement some essential nutrients. We would recommend Vitaforce. The founder and owner of the brand actually created this powder to heal her own body. Allison has been using it for years; it contains all the greens, vitamins and minerals you need, and it doesn't taste like garbage. Our second question comes from Belle and was posted in our Facebook Group. Belle wants to know our thoughts on CBD. Is it a fad, or a healing tool? Suzy is involved in the green revolution currently occurring in California—CBD is definitely not a fad! CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive component of hemp, and it is very healing. CBD interacts with our own cannabidiol receptors and helps with pain management, insomnia, anxiety, Alzheimer's and tumor reduction, among other things. It also packs a more powerful antioxidant punch than Vitamin C! For the science behind the claims, check out www.projectcbd.org. CBD is completely nontoxic and non-addictive. But as with every product, some brands are better than others—choose one that uses high doses of high quality CBD extract. Unfortunately, the government has now got a patent on CBD, despite the fact this is a completely natural substance. What's more, the DEA has classified it as a Category 1 controlled substance, despite the fact it will not get you high. But there is a growing movement towards acceptance of this healing plant. An increasing number of studies show the therapeutic benefits of both CBD and THC, and more than half the country's states have legalized the medical use of marijuana. Want more info, reach out to Suzy on out FB group! Finally, our third question comes from Sabrina. She wants to know why teeth become prone to cavities, and what we can do about it. This is a topic we're incredibly passionate about. Some dentists just drill for the sake of it, even when there are no cavities. But even when cavities ARE present, you don't necessarily need to get a filling. When you break a bone, your body heals itself. Bones can regenerate, and while teeth are a little different to bone, they're very similar. According to Dr. Robert Nara, your teeth can heal themselves, all you need to do is use the right tools. If you have enough calcium and magnesium in your diet and in your saliva, you can heal your teeth. Check out Dr. Nara's book How to be Dentally Self Sufficient. Suzy's favorite tooth-care tool is baking-soda tooth powder, because it alkalizes your mouth and helps keep your mouth super clean. But she's got a few other tips too! Ep 138138: Tantra, Jade Eggs, Spicing Up Your Sex Life and Expanding Your Consciousness

E

Tantra may be the "in" thing right now, but it is about so much more than just sex, though orgasms can be a perk! Tantra is not a collection of sexual positions; it is not the Karma Sutra. Rather, it is a way of life. In fact, the word Tantra means to weave, to expand consciousness. It's more about holding space for your partner and listening than it is about contortionist bedroom acrobatics! Elise Carr, a former model and journalist, traded in her high heels to dive into sacred spirituality and sexuality. She's now recognized as Australia's best Empowerment Mentor. She even trained with the White Tigresses in the art of jade egg practices. Elise is a Certified Holistic Health Coach, Reiki Master and Esoteric Tantra Practitioner. She wants to encourage women to work with their yoni to reconnect with the sacred feminine, and release the shame that is so often associated with that part of our bodies. We carry so much negative energy around our yoni – we have forgotten the beauty that is there. It is time to open up that conversation, reconnect with our sensuality. It is ok for us to express and to love ourselves – this is how we heal. Tantra is about learning who we really are. It is the meshing of the physical and the spiritual. It is about self-expression, union, love and connection. Ep 137137: How Tim Overcame Addiction, Lost Weight and Healed Chronic Illness in 30 Days of Juicing

Let's face it, losing weight is tough. Making any kind of drastic lifestyle change can seem daunting and difficult. But the alternative is often scarier. Tim Kaufman was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a condition characterized by hyper mobile joints. His joints were so loose they would simply pop out of their sockets. After a failed operation to fix the issue, Tim became addicted to prescription pain medication. He was also addicted to food. Moving less and less, eating more and more, the weight piled on. He lost his lust for life, he was depressed, and used food and prescription drugs as an escape. After two close relatives passed away from cancer, Tim knew he had to do something. He applied for bariatric surgery. But his health was so bad that his doctor refused to sign it off. He had to take a different approach. He began making small changes. Cutting out red meat. Choosing lower-fat cheeses. Then one day, he watched Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. Before the credits rolled, he'd ordered a juicer. A 30 day juice fast later, Tim was well and truly on his way towards better health. But it was Forks over Knives that really gave him a new lease of life. From being unable to get up from his chair, Tim has gone on to climb mountains, complete 100-mile bike rides, run a marathon. He's even training for Iron Man. He freed himself from prescription medication and is the fittest he's ever been. His whole family has felt the benefits. Swapping the buffalo wings and diet pepsi for a plant based diet saved his life. He now helps other people transition to a healthier way of life through his blog, Fat Man Rants. E

How can a billionaire, who lives in a penthouse, who has never had to work in his life, who has never had to choose between paying the rent and buying food, who has never had to think about how to pay for healthcare, be a man of the people? How can he possibly relate to the lives of normal Americans? How can a business man who bankrupted six of his businesses, and whose net worth would be superior had he simply put his inheritance in a bank, be classed as a great business brain? How can a man who's made no bones about being sexist, and repeatedly made shockingly derogatory comments about women have had any kind of female following? How did he get voted in? He talks a good game, that's how. His rhetoric was appealing to the masses, those who'd been underserved by previous administrations, those tired of the same old statements and lack of change. The "alternative" facts he sprinkled into his speeches, and the questionable "truths" his campaign manager shared probably also helped (incidentally, check out this YouTube clip of Kelly Ann Conway doing Chicago – hilarious!) But if we look at the solid facts, immigrants are not taking our jobs (and ALL Americans, except for Native Indians, are immigrants anyway!). A wall won't fix the job crisis or the immigration crisis. The "swamp" isn't being "drained", only filled with more people who have no understanding of, or interest in, what people really need. Affordable care is the same thing as Obamacare. And the last thing the world needs is more racism and outdated views about women! Ok, so what can we do? How do we fight lies? How can we shift the story? We have to start the conversation and speak the truth. We're seeing more and more women rise up and begin to get involved in politics—let's stand up and be counted ladies! In the words of Delores Huerta: "Every moment is an organizing opportunity, every person is a potential activist, every minute is a chance to change the world." Let's not allow fear and anger to stop us living life. No matter what is going on politically, we are in control of our lives. You can be whatever you want it to be – don't let anybody stop you! Ep 135135: The Incredible Healing Protocol for Reversing Debilitating Disease & Heavy Metal Toxicity

You could eat all the right things and exercise every day, but if your mind believes you're sick, you will be. On the other hand, if you believe that you are healthy, you can heal anything. Just like Miracle Man Morris Goodman says: man becomes what he thinks. Khristee Rich fell ill when she was in college. She had chronic fatigue, brain fog, she was bed-ridden much of the time—she couldn't work, go on dates, socialize, even write an email. But no one knew how to treat her. Doctors didn't even believe she was ill, stating she was simply "depressed" and "stressed". One doctor even told her she simply had to accept that she would be sick for the rest of her life. Khristee tried everything, from reiki to qi gong and acupressure, but nothing worked. Finally, she was diagnosed with heavy metal toxicity—with blood levels of mercury and lead so high she should have been paralyzed or brain damaged. Unwilling to go through potentially fatal medical chelation therapy, Khristee began researching natural chelators. Using a combination of plant foods, supplements and visualization meditations, she freed herself of heavy metals in just one month. Khristee knew she had a higher purpose than just being sick. She's now a Visibility and Confidence Coach, and helps entrepreneurs boost their confidence so they can shine. Because when you show up for yourself, you can show up for others. Ep 134134: How X-Factor Star Drew Ryniewicz Overcame Teen Bullying and Learned to Be Herself Fearlessly

E

It isn't just the dorky kid at school who gets bullied; you could be beautiful, successful, grown up, and still have to deal with bullies—a toxic friend, an overbearing family member, an unreasonable boss. Drew Ryniewicz found that out early on. At just 14 she was propelled into the limelight on the X-Factor, and despite being gorgeous and talented, she quickly had to contend with cyber trolls from all over the globe, watching and judging her life. Drew followed her dream of becoming a musician despite the hardship, and came to realize that the bigger the dream, the bigger the ridicule that comes with it. She wanted to use that ridicule to empower her life, write music, become the artist she wanted to be, and prove the trolls wrong. For the last two years, she's dedicated her life to the anti-bullying movement, and has become the face to Allstar Nation Tour, a music-based anti-bullying campaign. Drew shares her story to show other girls that they are not alone, and to help them see the beauty and potential that is within them. She's even given an inspiring TED talk entitled "Having Ridiculous Dreams." Drew challenges people to overcome rejection, live ridiculously, and follow their dreams. Plus, our rockstar producer Roxy Flo talks about producing Drew's song Empire the most beautiful, lyrical, honest song she's written.
