Ep 238How to Face Your Toxic Partner (or the Whole Darned Patriarchy) & Win Every Time

The recent Barbie movie brought to light the impossible situation that many women face when dealing with a patriarchal society. Namely, the system is rigged and there’s no way women can win. Unless they stop playing the old game, and create a new one instead! Dealing with people who are bound and determined to create conflict and misunderstand or hurt you is maddening! It brings up a sense of self-righteous, yet totally justified, anger leading us to defend ourselves and our position, explain why their toxic behavior is hurtful, and work ourselves into even more frustration because we are never able to get our needs met. The sad truth is, some people are so wounded they will protect themselves at any cost, and you can never win. Here’s how to respond to the madness in a way that allows you to reclaim your power, set boundaries, and prioritize your peace of mind. Top take-a-ways Learn effective communication strategies by using "I" statements and setting boundaries. This will help you navigate challenging conversations and protect your emotional wellbeing. Recognize the importance of acknowledging and processing emotions. By taking time to validate your feelings, you can unhook from the drama and take action that has the potential to create lasting change. Discover the power of disengaging from negative situations and creating a new game for yourself in situations where you know you can’t otherwise win. Ep 235How to Regain Your Balance When You Can’t Get What You Want

How to find balance and equilibrium after the rug has been pulled out from under you? Like a teeter totter, what goes down, must come up. This episode explores three practices for finding your footing again after infidelity, betrayal, or any kind of disappointment. Top take-a-ways Find balance between grief and positivity. Grieving is a normal process that allows negativity to leave your body and keeps you healthy and happy for the long run. Although it can be uncomfortable, learning how to grieve is vital to our wellbeing. Counting your blessings reminds you that grief is not permanent and that there are many other parts of your life that are still going well. Alternate between taking control and letting it go. When we feel victimized, it’s healthy for us to take control of something and reestablish us as a powerful force in our own lives. But it’s also important to practice the art of letting it go, and learning to release the illusion of control. Understand the tendency to glorify or catastrophize what “might have been.” No situation is all good or all bad. When we don’t get what we want, we have a tendency to either glorify or catastrophize what we think it “should” have been. Remind yourself to be rational! Even if you had gotten what you wanted, it would have been neither all good or all bad. Ep 234How to Understand & Navigate the Fragile Male Ego

In this episode, Lora dives into the fragile male ego and its impact on navigating relationships affected by infidelity. She shares insights on societal expectations and upbringing that contribute to men hiding their pain and emotions and shares the signs of a fragile ego. Additionally, she explains why the affair partner likely suffered from a fragile ego, and talks about the difference between having your ego take a hit because of a difficult circumstance, and living with a chronically fragile ego. Top Take-a-Ways Understanding the fragility of the male ego is essential for building deeper connections and fostering healthy relationships, especially after betrayal. Recognizing the unique challenges men face in expressing their emotions is a crucial step toward your own healing. Why “like attracts like” and those with fragile (and artificially overinflated) egos tend to attract each other, creating and perpetuating a false world and relationship. Tips for strengthening and supporting your own ego, which may have taken a hit after learning about your partner’s infidelity. Ep 233Grow Up, Queen! How to Have Difficult Conversations

Listen to "Grow Up, Queen! How to Have Difficult Conversations" on FLAUNT! Create A Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle. In this episode, Lora share communication strategies for overcoming betrayal and rebuilding relationships. She provides insight about how to move from the archetype of Princess to the archetype of Queen so as ruler of your own Queendom, you can more easily get the outcome you desire. She takes a deep-dive into the nuts and bolts of having difficult conversations, whether those conversations are about finances, divorce, or infidelity. Top Take-a-ways 👑 Preparation is key: Collect information and set a mutually agreed-upon time to have a conversation. When you ask for permission and prepare beforehand, you set yourself up for a productive and respectful conversation. 👑 Build in a definitive ending time: It's important to give yourself and the person you are talking to the safety of a pre-arranged ending time. Conversations tend to devolve the longer they go. Give yourselves a break and agree to do something fun together at the conclusion of the conversation. 👑 Don't keep talking about it: When the conversation is done, let it go! Avoid talking about difficult topics outside of the agreed-upon conversation time, as it doesn't create a sense of safety or trust in the relationship. Remember, being a queen means taking care of yourself and those around you with elegance and grace. Growing up means learning how to hard things, such as having difficult conversations in service of creating a stronger bond. Ep 232Part 3 – After the Affair. Take Responsibility & Do the Work: A Journey of Healing & Redemption After Betrayal

Special Seven Year Podcast Anniversary Series -with guest Shawn Cheadle, Lora’s husband, and betraying partner Tune in to the third and final interview Shawn Cheadle, Lora’s husband and the man who betrayed her. In this final episode, Shawn shares his personal journey of taking full accountability for his actions after initially blaming Lora for his behavior. Shawn candidly discusses his struggles with effective communication and acknowledges the need for personal growth to improve his marriage. Throughout the conversation, Shawn highlights the underlying vulnerabilities that contributed to his affairs and the importance of exploring and addressing them in order to heal. He emphasizes the importance of getting back to one’s core and doing the necessary work, even if the relationship doesn’t work out, because it leads to personal growth, self-empowerment, and authentic living. In addition, Shawn and Lora delve into the deepening of their relationship as they come to a greater understanding of themselves individually. They discuss how their growth as individuals and as a couple is leading to a stronger foundation in their marriage. They explore how to navigate the opinions and judgments of others, as well as dealing with shame and fear. Lora Cheadle, an attorney and betrayal recovery coach, guides the conversation and shares her own insights on forgiveness and the importance of focusing on oneself in the journey of recovery. This episode is part of a 3-part interview series with Lora’s husband, Shawn, who betrayed her. They have previously discussed Shawn’s mindset before and during the affairs, and now focus on his healing journey, redemption, and facing what he did. Join us on this powerful episode of FLAUNT!! as we dive deeper into the complexities of healing and redemption after infidelity or betrayal. Hear firsthand how a couple navigates the challenges of rebuilding trust and finding personal growth in the aftermath of betrayal. Top Take-a-ways Take accountability: Shawn initially placed blame on Lora for his actions, but he eventually realized that he had to take full ownership of what he had done. It’s vital to acknowledge our mistakes and take responsibility for our actions after betrayal or infidelity. Resolve conflicts & work through pain: Shawn emphasized the importance of addressing conflicts and working through the pain in relationships. It’s not always easy, but doing the necessary work leads to personal growth and a stronger foundation in the relationship. Come home to oneself: Shawn discovered the importance of returning to his core and doing the inner work to address shame, guilt, and lack of ability to communicate. By exploring vulnerabilities and addressing them head-on, he was able to grow as an individual and become a better partner. This interview series with Lora and her husband Shawn – the man who betrayed her – is a raw, vulnerable, and very real conversation about Shawn’s state of mind and understanding of what happened before, during and after his multiple affairs. These conversations are intended to serve two purposes: First, to provide an understanding of what goes on in the heart and the mind of someone who cheats, and to shed light on some of confusing and irrational behaviors surrounding affairs, and Second, to provide you, the betrayed partner, with something to share with the person who cheated on you, to facilitate conversation and bridge some of the gaps in your collective understanding. Especially if you are trying to reconcile or need to amicably coparent with them. While the circumstance of everyone’s situation is different, surprisingly, there are many similarities. Affairs tend to be born out of pain and an inability to express one’s feelings. Quite often, even though an affair causes more pain, more shame, and more guilt, the cheating partner irrationally believes that cheating is a viable option to lower their pain, and then find themselves stuck in a situation they don’t know how to get out of. It is our joint intention to step bravely into the truth of our situation. To shine a light on a subject that, while shockingly common, is still judged and stigmatized and to do our part in moving the conversation out of the shadows and into the light. May these shows provide you with more answers and understanding than you had before. It is important to note that while nothing excuses the choices made by the cheating partner, and the blame for the affairs lies squarely on the one who cheats, it is our hope that these conversations inspire a deeper level of awareness and compassion for the plight of the betraying partner. Not to let them off the hook or to mitigate the damage and pain caused by their actions, but to help you in your journey to forgiveness, by way of understanding and acceptance. After all, Life is hard, hurt people hurt people, and it is only when we reach out and try to understand another’s perspective are we able to rise above the collective traumas of the

Ep 223Guilt, Shame & Empowerment After Your Partner’s Affair

Why do I feel guilty, like I somehow caused my partner’s affair? This question is one of the most perplexing aspects of betrayal recovery. While the answer is NO, you did not cause your partner’s affair, EVER, it’s also appropriate to be able to self-reflect on the relationship, realize what you know now that you didn’t know then, see where you can do better going forward, and take steps to get healthy and clean up your side of the street. So that going forward, you are clear, strong, empowered, and confident enough to manage any situation with grace. Top take-a-ways: The rush of clarity and empowerment that comes from owning your so-called mistakes, and choosing to heal and grow so you can live differently and make healthier choices going forward. A guided practice to release yourself from any guilt that you may feel for things you did that contributed to the break-down of the relationship. Why your partner is minimizing the affair, refusing to take responsibility for his actions, and is blaming you for his choices. Ep 222Your Subconscious Love Language – Understanding Love & Association

Gary Chapman’s “Five Love Languages” explain our conscious associations and desires around love. But what about our subconscious associations and desires around love? Whether you had a functional or dysfunctional childhood, all children are hardwired to love their parents – which means they interpret everything their parents do as love. Even when it’s not! That means that as an adult you and your partner can have faulty associations when it comes to love. And because they are subconscious, neither of you are even aware of those associations, let alone know how to change them! Top take-a-ways: Is your partner critical and negative? It’s possible that because of the way they were raised, they think that love equals criticism and riding someone’s case in order to “make them better.” Here’s how to understand and combat negative associations around love. Discover your love associations (and your partner’s love associations) and how they have translated into your adult life and relationships. Unhook from toxic emotions around unhealthy ways that you or your partner show love. Ep 218Perfection, Self-Worth, and Affair Recovery

If you are anything like most of the women I work with, you are an amazing woman who tries hard to do things right. You’ve done the heavy lifting in your relationship, responsibly taken care of everyone and everything that needs taking care of, and you’ve always done your best. On the outside, you probably appear to be confident too. But are you worthy of messing up? Do you feel worthy of being a hot mess, making mistakes, and being angry, ugly, and a wreck? Shocking as it seems, that’s what true self-worth is about. Unconditionally loving and accepting yourself in the bad, dark, ugly times. After all, it’s easy to appreciate and love the good. Can you appreciate and love yourself in the bad? Top take-a-ways: The false construct of success, perfection, and achievement and how believing that “Because I’m worth it” is empowering, when it really keeps you locked in perfectionism. Understanding why so many of us seek to make others happy and aren’t even aware of who we are and what we want. How to “be the cake” instead of the “icing” and learn to validate and appreciate yourself instead of seeking to please others or making everyone else happy – and not you. Why other people’s opinions of you are none of your business. Ep 217Why Affairs Run in Families, Epigenetics, and Breaking Unhealthy Family Dynamics – with Johanna Lynn

Affairs rock your world and change your life. But they also help you understand deeper truths such as why you love the way you love, how family history and epigenetics impact relationships and separations, and how to resolve conflict – sometimes without even talking about it, but by dealing with your family imprint instead! It all has to do with subconscious patterning and dismantling destructive or unhealthy family patterns. Top take-a-ways: Unpacking what led to the affair, what was swept under the rug, and what was missed – so you can wake up to everything that was missed and never be caught off guard again. Understanding your “Love Blueprint,” how you love, who you love, and why you are attracted to the people you are attracted to. Why “It isn’t about forgiveness” and “Blame is the cheapest hit of power going.” About Johanna Lynn: Johanna is a highly trained systemic therapist who offers resolutions from long standing issues in online classes or private sessions with a focus on restoring relationships and cultivating resilient boundaries by dismantling family patterns. Ep 216Coffee With “The Librarians” – Channeled Wisdom for Humanity

This week we’re bringing you a very different show! We’re bringing you a full hour of universal, channeled, wisdom to help you on your betrayal recovery journey. Lora channels a group of entities known as “The Librarians.” The Librarians are keepers of universal wisdom for the earth plane and their messages are meant for seekers of light. Take it slow, pause when you need to pause, and if you like what you hear, follow Lora on Facebook or YouTube where she goes live every Tuesday, with a new, live channel. Dec.13, 2022 Truth lives inside of us all. And while none of us share the exact same truth, we all share the knowledge that our truth is important. Which is where things get difficult! While it’s important for us to share what’s going on inside with others, to validate our experience and to create the kinds of close relationships that we want, communication is difficult! Words are limited and cannot explain our unique perspectives, textures, and feelings. Therefore, trying to explain what’s going on inside in a way that others can understand is impossible! Yes we try. And we get angry when others don’t understand… Oneness comes from the shared understanding that we are all alone in our unique perspectives. That we are all unable to communicate our feelings, wisdom, and knowingness adequately. Oneness comes from being aware and honoring that we are all “right” and we are all centered in our own hearts, and that we are all alone with our own insides, and that our connection is through our unique aloneness. Dec. 20, 2022 A piece for peace! This week’s message is about the deeper meaning and message behind Winter Solstice and darkness. While reaching outside of ourselves for light is fine because we all need inspiration at times, the task of becoming spirit Actually awakened is about cultivating the light that’s within, not seeking external light During Winter Solstice we are in the dark for a reason and that reason is so we can find our own light. And the key is not stressing about being “good enough” or “enlightened enough” either. All we need is a PIECE of our light to find PEACE! We don’t need to illuminate the whole world, we just need to illuminate and sustain ourselves. Because Peace on Earth is attained when everyone on the planet illuminates their own hearts! Dec. 27, 2022 Go in Grace. Go with the Flow. Allow Yourself to Receive. This week’s message is about EASE and how we like to make things harder than they are. Ease is our birthright. Worlds (and humans!) are created with ease. Yes, there is the occasional cataclysmic event, but the process flows with ease, always. And when difficulties arise, life flows around those difficulties. Worthiness is not a part of it. We like to make things more difficult to prove to ourselves that we are worthy of being chosen, of receiving, of enjoying. and if you WANT to keep playing that game, you can. Just know that it is a game, and you don’t have to play it. You can just flow. That’s what GRACE is. It’s the right to receive without being worthy. It’s the right to love and live and enjoy even though you don’t “deserve” to love and live and enjoy. Because the Truth (capitol T truth!) is that everyone deserves it. Nothing is conditional. Nothing is separate from God/Goddess. *Post-channel message: Look at our language around God. In the channel, Lora said he/she referring to God, and then typed God/Goddess. God/Goddess is the whole. Humans have created the separation of the whole into two-God and Goddess. Then humans stress out around gender! Life is genderless. Life is whole and complete. Life is without division. Ease and flow and grace are without division. Struggle and strife are division. Look around, it’s everywhere! We love to struggle and overcome and fight and declare ourselves “right” so we can prove our own worth. Just know that it’s not necessary. That’s why GRACE was given to humans. We only need to receive this one gift if we want to live like Jesus/God/Goddess. Jan. 3, 2023 When we realize the inevitability of “bad things,” it allows us to partake fully in the sweetness of life. This week the Librarians want us to become aware of the cloud of fear that surrounds our hearts and planet, and instead of continuing to build up our defenses to protect against bad things that might (or might not) happen, to realize that “bad things” happening is inevitable. Not to traumatize or scare us, but to realize that protecting ourselves fully is impossible. We have limited control. Yes, we can plan and save or be safe and take precautions and that is good, but we cannot prevent, anticipate, or protect against everything When we realize the inevitability of “bad things” happening in our lives, we become more able to partake in the sweetness of life and we enjoy ourselves more. Jan 10, 2023 Feeling our feelings is what living is all about. It doesn’t matter if they are good feelings, bad feelings, or anything in between. The act of feeling is “fun” and is what being a

Ep 215Your D-Day Anniversary – How to Honor Yourself & Cope

Like 9-11 and COVID, survivors of infidelity mark time with “before D-day” or “after D-day.”. Yet unlike 9-11 or COVID, you are profoundly alone in your D-day trauma. Which it makes it vitally important to create your own anniversary “celebration” or way to mark and memorialize all that you have been through. No matter how many D-days you have had, no matter if you are happily married to your cheating partner, are still struggling, or are divorced and done, it is still a moment in your life that needs to be remembered with care, honor, and compassion. Here’s how. Top take-a-ways: Attachment styles and how the way you were raised impacts the way you feel in your body, especially during traumatic events and anniversaries such as D-day. The art of giving yourself now what you needed most then, and re-parenting and re-patterning yourself after upsetting events. How to create space, time, and healing by “being responsive” to yourself and learning how to meet your own needs. Ep 214Healing After Infidelity vs. Transforming who you Are – How to Set & Communicate Boundaries

So often we hear about healing after infidelity, affair recovery, or healing from betrayal. But do you want to heal, or do you want to transform? Healing means getting back to how you were before, and most of the women I work with want something better than what they had before. Something more honest, more real, and intimate. Interestingly, the most difficult part of “transforming your life” is typically disrupting the status quo and unraveling what is. Which is the gift of betrayal. Betrayal disrupts the status quo and unravels what is, for you. So all that’s left is for you to come back home to who you are and rebuild your life, your way. Top take-a-ways: The process of knowing yourself and showing yourself authentically for who you are so you can transform into the person you were meant to be. How to set, communicate, and enforce effective boundaries that uphold your highest vision of who you are and what you deserve. Finding the courage to rise, thrive, and overcome life’s challenges. Ep 213Protect Yourself After Betrayal – Practically & Emotionally

Life is unpredictable, and while there are steps you can take to protect yourself, none of us can prepare for what’s to come perfectly. We will get hurt. We will make mistakes. Bad things happen to good people. Which is where self-empowerment comes in. Not in a buzz-wordy way, but in deeply powerful type of way. Being fully self-empowered means being okay with what is as well as what will be, because you know that no matter what happens, you can manage yourself. No matter what life brings, you know that you are protected by something greater, and that you will always be okay. Top take-a-ways: Steps you can take to legally, financially, and practically protect yourself and your interests after betrayal (or any time at all) What “bad things happening” to your or in your life says about you How to find the courage to rise, thrive, and overcome life’s challenges. Ep 210Men, Validation & Infidelity with Alicia M. Walker, Phd

Have you ever wished you could sit down with a cheater (whether your partner or somebody else) and ask them what the heck was going on in their minds when they cheated? Why they did it, what they thought, or what it said about them or you? Now you can. In this mind-blowing interview you will learn why men cheat, especially when they love their partners. Using a sample collected from the online dating service Ashley Madison, Alicia M. Walker interviewed men about their experiences and perceptions regarding their participation in infidelity. What she found was as fascinating as it was unexpected! Contrary to gendered social scripts, the men in this study described their motivations for outside partnerships that were not rooted in the desire for sexual pleasure or variety, but rather as an outlet to soothe their bruised egos, receive attention and validation and to fight their feelings of emasculation. Top take-a-ways: Deconstructing why men who want to stay married and keep their primary partnership, seek out affairs. How even the best primary partnerships sow seeds of self-doubt and feelings of emasculation in men. Relationship management, and why men perceive partners who aren’t helping them understand and process their emotions as rejection. The secret needs of men, and why they are “bottomless pits of need” who need their egos pumped up more often than anyone might imagine! Alicia M. Walker, PhD is an associate professor of sociology at Missouri State University. Like many sociologists, her educational background is varied. Before receiving her PhD in sociology at the University of Kentucky, Walker earned a MEd in educational leadership from Texas State University, and a BA in English from the University of Tampa. She appreciates an interdisciplinary focus and collaboration. Walker is a microsociologist, whose work focuses on intimate sexual relationships, sexual identity and behavior, and gender. Specifically, her work looks at the social construction of the sexual self, the ways we make sense of ourselves as sexual beings, the ways we navigate our sexual worlds, and our lived experiences as sexual beings. Walker has particular interest in closeted sexual behaviors and online initiation of sexual relationships. She is credited with creating a sociology of infidelity. Walker’s second book focuses on men’s experiences with infidelity called Chasing Masculinity: Men, Validation, and Infidelity published by Palgrave-Macmillan. This book examines men’s experiences with participation in outside partnerships. Chasing Masculinity has been discussed in The Sun, Vice, The Globe and Mail, and Medium, among others. Her debut monograph, The Secret Life of the Cheating Wife: Power, Pragmatism, and Pleasure in Women’s Infidelity, is available in hardcover now. The Secret Life of the Cheating Wife is about women’s navigation of outside partnerships alongside primary partnerships, and gives voices to women’s lived experiences. The book has been discussed in articles published in The New York Times and CNN, among others. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family (adult children, husband, and mother) with whom she is close, and her beloved rescue dog, Harvey, whom she and her daughter found abandoned at a gas station as a puppy. (Adopt, don’t shop!) She also enjoys traveling, great movies, playing cards, and collecting statues of the goddesses of love, marriage, and fertility of various cultures (as they relate to her work). Ep 207Giving Yourself What You Need During Affair Recovery

Recovering from infidelity and betrayal requires you to get all of your needs met. Affair recovery is brutal, on many different levels, and if you are going to survive and thrive, then you must take care of yourself first. Two weeks ago we talked about setting your intention for recovery. Last week we talked about mapping out your journey on how to get where you want to go. This week we are talking about props, which art the things you will need along the journey, and costumes, which are what you will need when you arrive. Top take-a-ways: Identifying what you will need along the betrayal recovery journey, including resources, food, nutrition, physical wellness, and the ability to feel beautiful, powerful, and strong. Giving yourself permission to “prop” yourself up with whatever props you deem necessary, so you can get to the other side of the affair recovery journey quickly and efficiently. Pondering what the kind of person you desire to be – healed, healthy, calm, or loved – might wear, and structuring your “costume” accordingly. Revenge Life Retreat & Photo-Shoot! Ep 206What’s The Difference Between Resolutions, Intentions, & Manifesting?

Happy 2023! While I’m not big on New Year’s Resolutions (because statistically speaking, only 9% of resolutions are successful) I am big on manifesting and setting intentions. Top take-a-ways: A Resolution is about being resolute, firm, and decisive. The energy around resolutions is harsh and you either succeed or you fail. There is no middle ground. An Intention is a plan, something that you aim for. The energy around intention is softer. There is room for so-called “error” and as long as you are facing in the right direction, aiming towards the target, still wanting the thing that you intend, you are on track. Manifesting means to make evident or certain by showing or displaying. Contrary to popular believe, this is not about magic-ing red corvettes our of thin air. Manifesting is about making something evident by showing or displaying yourself in a certain state of being. If you want to manifest peace and joy, your task is to display or show yourself as peaceful and joyful. If you want to find healing, your task is to display or show yourself as healed. If you want to find love, abundance, or success, your task is to display or show yourself as love, abundance, or success. Not by masking up and pretending. Not by being pretentious or lying about how you feel. Not by Resolving to feel differently than you do. That’s false positivity or spiritual bypassing and it doesn’t work. But by intending to be peaceful and joyful in the midst of chaos. By intending to be healed and whole in the midst of being broken. By intending to be love, abundance, and successful in the midst of heartbreak, poverty, and failure. It’s a subtle but powerful shift that moves mountains! This year I am going to give myself the gift of seeing myself as successful in every circumstance. Because if I can’t see myself as I intend to be, how can I expect others to? How can I expect it to be? What are you going to be in 2023? Fall (Back) in Love with YOU February Retreat! Don’t just make a Vision Board, become a living Vision Board! Ep 205Mapping the Affair Recovery Journey

Intentions are powerful, but without a map of how to get where you want to go, chances are, you won’t! Whether it’s healing from betrayal on your own, building a new relationship, or saving your marriage, you need a solid plan that strikes a balance between giving yourself enough time to process, while still holding yourself accountable. Top take-a-ways: Identifying and executing your most immediate next steps so you can get to where you want to go without spinning in circles or taking two steps forward, one step back. Thinking of the route to who you want to be as a song, that consists of chorus, verse, and musical interlude. Understanding how the verse, the section of the song that moves the story forward, is done in small chunks, with plenty of time for the chorus (repetition) and musical interludes (relaxation)! Using the cycle of the seasons to create the perfect, intuitive Map for your journey into 2023 and beyond. Don’t just make a Vision Board, become a living Vision Board! If you’re anything like me, you’ve set, and then failed at, a New Year’s Resolution before. Whether it’s an attempt to manifest your way out of debt or pain, or into a new car or relationship, too many people fail when they really want to succeed. Contrary to popular belief, sticking to your resolutions or manifesting your dream life is not hard! The steps you read about online and in books are not wrong. It’s just that they leave out the Number One Most Important First Step. Which you will learn about in this show! Top take-a-ways: The Number One most important thing to do in manifesting or setting a New Year’s Resolution. Why manifesting is a process instead of an action and how to use that process. Ep 202Winter Solstice & the Return of the Light After Infidelity

We live in a culture that is afraid of the dark, both literally and metaphorically. We celebrate beauty, success, and power and we cover and hide that which is inconvenient, painful, or weak. We don’t like things that are ugly or messy and we tend to shame ourselves and others for not being able to put on a happy face or be perfect all the time. Especially when we are facing infidelity or betrayal. Facing the dark night of the soul is where things get real. Because when faced with darkness, we have two choices: Search for the light outside ourselves, or Search for the light within. Top take-a-ways: The balance of light and dark, good and evil, and how to honor both so you can accept in and embrace the all. How the cycle of the seasons is a reflection of our journey through life. Witnessing, being seen, and sharing your grief authentically. Embracing the Peruvian wisdom of the snake, puma, and condor. Deciding if you are cultivating your own light, or relying too heavily on others to do it for you? How finding a PIECE of our own light will bring us PEACE! Why you don’t need to illuminate the whole world; you just need to illuminate yourself. Read this year’s Winter Solstice message in full at https://loracheadle.com/spirit/a-piece-for-peace-winter-solstice-2022/ It comes straight from The Librarians, a group of entities that bring wisdom to humanity. Ep 201The Importance of Tradition in Overcoming Betrayal (Especially Over the Holidays)

Betrayal pulls the rug out from under you and makes you question yourself and your reality. Things that you relied on as true, you find out were not, leaving you ungrounded, grieving, and wondering where you can turn to for safety and rest. Which can be especially painful around the holidays, where tradition reigns supreme, and you find yourself in unfamiliar territory with the outside pressure to be jolly. Top Take-a-ways: Creating traditions post-betrayal, for yourself and others. Reflecting on holidays past, and learning to acknowledge, receive, and grieve the joy and loss of what was. Tradition as a way of marking time, increasing your sense of belonging, making meaning in a chaotic and unpredictable world. How to revisit the values and beliefs connected to holidays, examine what is important to you now, and reestablish an identity in accordance with your deepest values. Lora Cheadle is an infidelity survivor who uses the concepts in burlesque to help women reclaim their identity and self-worth after betrayal so they can move forward with confidence, embrace their sexy, and create a life they love! Ep 198The One Reason All Cheaters Cheat

All cheaters cheat for one reason and one reason alone. Because they have a hole inside of themselves that they can’t fill. And because they also can’t identify or describe what’s wrong inside of them, they make excuses, I need time to figure myself out. I don’t know what’s wrong with me… and they have affairs. Instead of looking within, they search for answers outside of themselves and they make a mess of everybody’s lives. Come learn why betrayal exposes the truth. Not only about the person who cheated on you, but about the wound within you. Top take-a-ways: The one thing your cheating partner must do to guarantee he will not cheat again. Midlife crises, insecurity , confusion, and why talking to your partner about how you feel prevents affairs. Shame and the male psyche – why men had a harder time processing shame than women and what that means for recovery. Healing your own wound and why the most important wound to heal is not the betrayal wound. BONUS! Grab a copy of your Betrayal Recovery Tool Kit, with a chapter of Lora’s book, FLAUNT! She grew up relying on her father (the “R” of H&R Block), then her husband, to manage her inheritance. But early in her marriage, she found out her husband was a compulsive gambler. And here’s the insane part — she continued to let him handle all their finances because that’s how scared and intimidated she was by money. That didn’t change until a devastating financial crisis became a personal wake-up call. She got tax bills for over $1m for illegal deals her ex got them into. He’d left the country. She didn’t have anywhere close to $1m. And her father wouldn’t lend her the money. She had three daughters — one just a baby, and she was not going to raise them on the street. That’s when she knew she had to get smart. And she did. Join me and Barbara as she shares her journey to financial independence in hopes of inspiring, and even better, motivating YOU to become smart (or smarter) with money… to earn more than you’re making now, and to create the legacy that you desire! Ep 194Mars, Venus, & Relationship Dynamics with Dr. John Gray, PhD

Men and women are different. Regardless of gender dynamics, gender roles, or the fact that all humans embody both masculine and feminine energies, (and hormones) the push-pull dynamic of relationships can be confusing, hurtful, and infuriating. Especially when there’s been infidelity. Top take-a-ways: How our hormones, biology, and brain impact our relationships and what we can and cannot control about ourselves and our partners. Why men leave, and the importance of appreciation, acceptance, and finding true meaning in life. The golden relationship rule for women: Never please a man. Instead, seek to be pleased by a man. Sex, attraction, and how the wounds from our past can lead us to the wrong partners – and how to find the right partner going forward. John Gray is the author of the most well-known and trusted relationship book of all time, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. USA Today listed his book as one of the top 10 most influential books of the last quarter century. In hardcover, it was the #1 bestselling book of the 1990s. Dr. Gray’s books are translated into approximately 45 languages in more than 100 countries and continues to be a bestseller. Dr. Gray has written over 20 books. His most recent book is Beyond Mars and Venus. His Mars/Venus book series has forever changed the way men and women view their relationships. John helps men and women better understand and respect their differences in both personal and professional relationships. His approach combines specific communication techniques with healthy, nutritional choices that create the brain and body chemistry for lasting health, happiness and romance. His many books, blogs and free online workshops at MarsVenus.com provide practical insights to improve relationships at all stages of life and love. An advocate of health and optimal brain function, he also provides natural solutions for overcoming depression, anxiety and stress to support increased energy, libido, hormonal balance and better sleep. He has appeared repeatedly on Oprah, as well as on The Dr. Oz Show, TODAY, CBS This Morning, Good Morning America, and others. He has been profiled in Time, Forbes, USA Today, and People. He was also the subject of a three-hour special hosted by Barbara Walters. John Gray lives in Northern California, where for 34 years he happily shared his life with his beautiful wife, Bonnie, until her passing in 2018. They have three grown daughters and four grandchildren. He is an avid follower of his own health and relationship advice. Ep 193Sacrifice & Relationships – What’s Too Much?

What’s the difference between healthy sacrifice and over-sacrificing? Did you know that sacrificing too much for your partner can actually damage your relationship? New research out of the Netherlands points to four key components that can help you learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy levels of sacrifice. Not only for the benefit of your relationship, but for your own self-love, self-understanding, and self-worth. This show looks not only at the sacrifices made by the betrayed partner, but also at the sacrifices of the betrayer. Top take-a-ways: Willingness to Sacrifice: Being willing to sacrifice sometimes matters more than actually making the sacrifice. The Act of Sacrifice: Why your partner’s validation and acknowledgement of sacrifices made is paramount to relationship satisfaction. Satisfaction with Sacrifice: The importance of knowing what you want and what matters most to you in life, so you only make sacrifices that keep you internally satisfied. Cost of Sacrifice: When the sacrifices we make are too significant, they build resentment in us and our partner and damage the relationship going forward. BONUS! Ep 192Rewrite Your Betrayal Story

Everyone loves a good story. The intensity of the drama, humor, and love keeps us in rapt attention as the story unfolds. Throughout history humans have told stories, learned through stories, and lived through stories more unbelievable and fantastic than anything that could have been imagined. When we are knee-deep in the middle of our own story, it's easy to lose perspective. Especially when that story is the story of infidelity and betrayal. But here’s the thing - while infidelity or betrayal may be a chapter in the story of your life, it is only a chapter! It is not the complete story. It's up to you to take control of the narrative and rewrite your betrayal story. How? Begin by asking yourself is: Who is writing my betrayal story? When something devastating happens, it causes you to feel victimized, because let’s face it, you were victimized! When that happens, it’s easy to turn the story over to the villain and let them take the lead. But in reality, your story is not about the villain, it's about you! What would it be like to take back control and start telling your betrayal story, your way? Let me show you how! Top take-a-ways: Framing your betrayal story in a way that serves you instead of limits or brings you down. Identifying the characters, plot, setting, and main lesson learned from your betrayal story and using those elements to launch into the next chapter of your life. Using the “choose your own adventure” framework for making your affair story a catalyst for something good instead of something terrible. Why writing and then closing the chapter on your infidelity story moves you powerfully into the rest of your life. BONUS! Ep 191Take Back Your Life & Reclaim Yourself After Infidelity

Everyone loves to get pumped up and excited about how great they and their lives will be after infidelity or divorce. But "You Go Girl!" spirit isn't always healthy. Sometimes, when life returns to “normal,” you feel like you have failed. While bursting through the pain of infidelity and shining brightly on the other side sounds great, what does success look like for you? If you sometimes feel the pressure to be a certain way, or act like you have it all together after betrayal, then this is the show for you. No, you do have to do something spectacular after infidelity, you just need to be true to who you are and what you want. For you, finding quiet and calm might be more than enough. Or not… Join Lora as she unpacks what it really means to reclaim yourself and take back your life after infidelity. Step One – Stop Doing & Start Being: Unhook, unplug, and spend a day quiet and alone with nothing to do. Let your mind wander, let thoughts come up, and just allow yourself to be. If it feels right, make gently inquiries into the masks you wear and all the ways you have been seeking to please, conform, and perform for others instead of being who you are. Step Two – Remove the Mask & Reveal Yourself: Take slow steps to reveal yourself without your mask. Whether it’s going to the grocery store without makeup or hair done, telling someone no, or choosing a different route for yourself, begin searching within for the answer that suits you best. Place one hand on your heart, one on your solar plexus, take a few breaths, and tune into what you really want in each moment. Honor the wisdom of your body and soul. Step Three – Practice Being You!: While it might seem self-evident, your life is about you and you deserve to make yourself happy. You deserve to learn new relationship skills, you deserve to give, take, and flow in your relationships and in your life. Will you get it perfect every time? NO! And that’s okay. That’s why we practice. Continue to self-reflect, learn, feel, and most importantly trust in yourself, your intuition, and the perfection of your crazy, imperfect life! Lora Cheadle is an infidelity survivor and Betrayal Recovery Coach who uses the concepts in burlesque to help women reclaim their identity and self-worth after betrayal so they can untangle from the past, overcome obsessive thoughts, and learn to trust themselves again so they can move forward with confidence, embrace their sexy, and create a life they love! BONUS! What makes you feel amazing? Whether it’s serious or silly, I want to know! Ep 190The Couple’s Therapy Experience – with Shane Birkel

Have you thought about couple’s therapy? Or, perhaps you have tried therapy but it really wasn’t a fit. In this episode we will talk about the couples’ therapy experience and what you can expect, receive, and gain from a good couple’s therapist. Top Take-A-Ways: The difference between normal and healthy and what it means to be in a healthy relationship. Empowerment, self-worth, and “other based” esteem and why having a foundation of value is the essential first step in relationships. Understanding “carried emotions” from one’s past versus present-day emotions and operating from the “wise adult self” instead of the wounded child Why relationships are a choice – for both partners – and why therapy will only work when both partners are willing to do the work. Shane Birkel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who sparks change in people’s lives and relationships. He helps individuals and couples who want to feel satisfied in their connection with their partner but feel like no matter what they do it just leads to stress and frustration. Ep 189Why It’s Normal to Hate the Other Woman, Sometimes More Than Your Cheating Spouse

Oftentimes women confide to me that they feel angrier at the other woman than they do their cheating spouse. They say that even though it was their partner who broke their wedding vow, they have more rage against the other woman than they do their spouse, and they don’t understand why. This show explains why this very common phenomenon happens, and helps you to deal with it so going forward you can have peace and trust other women again. Top Take-A-Ways: Why the innocent spouse, who is still operating in “partnership mode,” will naturally defend her partner against threats and may be more upset at the other woman than she is at her partner. How learning about the affair partner triggers a woman’s insecurities, reopens old wounds, and sends her into a comparison game that she perceives as being against the other woman instead of against her partner. How violation of “the woman code” and being betrayed by another woman, often feels like a worse betrayal than being betrayed by a man, but is rarely addressed in betrayal recovery programs. The truth about why your partner was attracted to the other woman, and what it says about you.
